I’ve never been a fan of the white version of this dress for some reason, but I really like this green one. I feel like a black belt would’ve popped better, but that’s a minor quibble. I also didn’t like these shoes with the white version. They weren’t white enough to match the dress and not nude enough to contrast, but they look great here. It’s always nice when Kate does something a bit different with her shoes, and I love these.
Man I just love dressing crazy. Star-shaped eyeliner, jacket covered in bottle caps with smiley faces, bright pink glasses, piercings in my face. I thrive in the weird looks from strangers. I love being that person little kids think is a fairy and remember for years. I love giggling at myself while I make faces in the mirror.
To me, this is what it is to be punk. To make weird, messy art. To sing your crooked voice as loud as you can. To be the most beautiful ugly. To be that creature 8 year old you wrote stories about in their school notebooks. To be the greatest you you can be.
There is nobody on this Earth who can do you like you. So why not go out and be the best you the world's ever seen?
What's your favourite Disney movie? And does your preference for the dorms have any influence on their movies and vice versa? Like I know you love Diasomnia so is Sleeping Beauty high up there for you?
I'm just asking because Snow White is actually my favourite Disney Princess and her movie is my favourite yet Pomefiore is my least favourite dorm (but Lion King and Savanaclaw are both in my top two) and I was wondering if it's similar for you?
yessss someone else whose favorite princess is Snow! ❄️
that said, it's hard to say what my favorite movie is, because I'm one of those annoying people who's like "well it depends" (on different aspects, on my mood, on the phase of the moon, etc). though out of the ones represented in Twst, I think it probably is Sleeping Beauty! I think it's really pretty and just a delightful movie! it hits a nice sweet spot for me of being kind of...gently grounded while still having that floaty-fairytale feeling, if that makes sense also I might have had a huge villaincrush on Maleficent that is being massively projected onto Meleanor, shh
although I actually sort of hated Diasomnia at first (l-look, they didn't have cards at first and all we had to go on were the website descriptions that make everyone sound horrible). so I dunno, maybe the influence helped win me over to them! or maybe just because, like everything else in Twst, they were unexpectedly enjoyable in practice?
(I don't think there are any that had a negative influence either, because I am also one of those annoying people who's like "well I don't have a least favorite, I like everybody!") (sob. it's true though.) (I just, I just love characters so much --)
I've never minded the term aesthetic. But I do agree that fast fashion needs to be put to a stop, that it's ruining the true definition of cultures and subcultures such as goth, punk, grunge and even turning people's cultures into aesthetics which I think is entirely inappropriate for them to make a claim on.
I believe alt subcultures are so much more than a trend. I got into gothic music and even emo music, I've always liked both. When I was in middle school. I liked the music, the literature, dark things before I even found the fashion and fell in love with it.
I've always been an eco warrior, anti capitalist etc. And found that my true self was goth. I can like things that aren't goth. It doesn't make me less goth. But that's the difference between someone whose in a subculture and someone whose doing it for the trend.
I always say be who you are, truly and authentically. Don't hide behind what's trending.
I have no hate towards the word aesthetic itself. But I do see the harm in what capitalism has done using aesthetic culture.
Something I really like about Fashion Dreamer, from its very concept, is that it makes the in-universe events correlate very closely with how the player is experiencing the game.
Eve is a digital world - your character isn't walking around as "themselves," they're presenting as one of four muses. Maybe in the canon lore they're still physically walking around a space, even if it's a virtual one - but at their core, they're doing the exact same thing the player is.
And that creates an immediate link between the player and their characters, while providing a lot of room for your own interpretation of what's happening. Maybe to you, there is no extra "story," it's Literally You just... playing the game. Maybe it's still You playing it, but you want to make a fictionalized, self-insert version of the events anyway.
Maybe you want to go full roleplay and create deep lore for each of your muses as their own characters, or have all four of them represent different facets of a single, unseen person who's canonically playing the game.
It really is a game that lets you play exactly how you want, with whatever number of headcanons is most engaging for you. And that's so cool! That's the benefit of games that are all customization and little plot, but in this case it's the setting that really elevates it in my book
Elain: "I belong to the Night Court. It is my home. I have friends and my family there. I have found purpose in helping elderly citizens of Velaris restore their gardens. I want to help this court however I can, even if it means reacquainting myself with my old powers. I glow in good health while in Velaris. I’m happy and finding my own voice for the first time in my life here”
Some of y'all, out here acting silly: “Cassian thinks you look bad in black so... sorry, hon! Heard the Spring Court has flowers though!"
I made a new years resolution to myself that I should draw and post something new each month. I slightly passed that month bench mark, but I did start drawing this Draculaura this January, so I think I'm still on track on my new years resolution.
Anywhos, story behind this is that I saw the big pink bow behind Monster Ball Draculaura and my brain instantly thought "Ah yes, Marylin Monroe's Iconic Pink Dress from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. That's what they definitely intended"
