pool by samia. this song reminds me so vividly of the moment Aled lost his dog. the way he cried in Frances' arms, the emptiness he might have felt, the feeling of being dead, with blank eyes and empty smile, that empty smile he gave Frances when he expressed his desire to go back to university. that dog meant a lot to aled and this song, her voice, the lyrics flow with feeling, toughness and the vulnerability aled might have felt at that moment when his own mother killed his dog.

Music Monday: Chasing Impossible! Abby was never supposed to be a major character in the Pushing the Limits series. She was originally only created for one scene in Crash Into You where she was supposed to introduce the conflict between Isaiah and Eric (the person who Rachel owed money to), but the moment Abby appeared on the page it was like magic. She was a character I immediately fell in love with. She was mystical, strong, deadly and compassionate. Abby wasn't supposed to have her own novel, but I wanted to write her so I did and I'm so glad that I followed my heart to write her story. Okay so I’ve been putting up the same kind of content for a while now, so I thought I’d shake things up a bit. I know this particular post is not very book blog-y, but hey, I was never gonna keep things conventional anyway. I’m a huge lover of music, and I don’t really have a particular type or favorite genre. The music I listen to depends completely on my mood, but one thing is for sure: when I like a set of songs, I listen to the SAME set of songs for weeks until I just cannot listen to them anymore. I’m sure I’m not the only person who does this, right? Right? :3 Music is also one of the catalysts that gets my creative juices flowing. Now, I cannot work with music. I have tried and failed, but it just doesn’t happen for me. I cannot write while listening to music, and I definitely cannot read books while listening to music. Too distracting. But it does help me brainstorm. Some of my favorite ideas for my books have hit me while I was listening to songs. It could be heart-touching lyrics or an inspiring instrumental: the number of times this has happened is not even funny. In fact, my way of capturing the essence of my characters and even character relationships is by assigning songs to them. I have a set of songs for each of my protags, and even for a few scenes. Sometimes, it’s the lyrics that makes sense, sometimes it’s the music. Full post, and my list of top ten current favorite songs in the link in my bio! ✨ Which is your favorite song?
