hii! so first of all, i LOVE your work and your writing style so much. so i was reading your last theo nott drabble and an idea came to my mind: it’s a gryffindor (maybe) party but it’s acc a theme party. the theme is dressing up as another house and reader (not a slytherin) borrows some of the boys’ quidditch clothes (like a bomber jacket or a jersey) and theo/mattheo get super jealous even though reader and him aren’t together. but it’s like he’s been after her for the whole year but she likes to play hard bc he normally doesn’t have to make any effort to have whoever girl he wants at his feet, and she doesn’t want to be just another girl, if you get what i mean? so she just shows up wearing another guys’ name and he goes feral.
A/N I'm so sorry this took me forever to write 😭. I've started college and boy is it overwhelming. Well! Here's part one to your request ehehe *burnt out* I really hope you enjoy! Thank you so much for showing support anon, I really appreciate it! If you guys get this to 1250 notes, I will prioritze part two <3

"I'm so chill, but you make me jealous," - So it Goes . . . by Taylor Swift
WORD COUNT  1.3K
WRITTEN  2023.09.13
You could feel Theo's eyes burning through your dress as soon as you entered the room, but you were sure to absolutely avoid any eye contact with him. Tonight's mission was simple: break him. You and Theo had an interesting little dynamic, that was for certain. You had spent months flirting with each other - smooth lines that had you blushing, "accidental" caresses that made Theo ache for more of you, almost-kisses that haunted both of your daydreams. Oh yes, the two of you were smitten for one another. There was just one small, tiny little problem. Theodore was spoiled rotten. He was so used to girl's plopping themselves in his lap and vying so desperately for his attention. He was so accustomed to this, in fact, that he went through girls like toilet paper. One week he's chatting up Romilda Vane in the corridors and the next week it's Tracey Davis, and so on and so on. You didn't want to be just another girl, you wanted to make him work for you. Still, that didn't mean you couldn't nudge him in the right direction.
You don't know what miracle Merlin had pulled in the afterlife, but he had somehow lsitened to your prayers and granted you the perfect opportunity to piss off Theo. The Gryffindors were holding a themed party where all the attenders must dress as someone from a different house. You, of course utlizied your connections and talked with your very dear friend Ginny. You had decided to borrow the letterman jacket she had gotten as a member of the Quidditch and, even better, had asked her to act a bit more friendly towards you than usual.
The music in Gryffindor Tower boomed so loudly that you practically feel the beat vibrating in your chest.You descended the stairs, dressed in a tight golden dress with the burgundy jacket swung over your shoulders, the word WEASLEY spelled prominently on the back of it. One arm was intertwined with Ginny's, the other raised so that your hand could fix up your hair. Ginny's arm was wrapped around your waist as she lead you down the stairs, and as soon as her friends looked up, they all let out a roar. Seamus and Ron came over, harking on about some drinking game ans begging the two of you to join. Ron would usually take the piss if he saw someone with Ginny, but you and her had informed him of what was really going on, so he wasn't in a mood at all.
"Come on, Dean's just told us about it, it's called Beer Pong," Seamus told the two of you, leading you to a table with plastic cups aligned in the shape of a triangle at each end. He handed you a ball and explained how it worked. "You and Ginny are on Harry and Ron's team, that's this end of the table, and me, Dean, Lavender, and Parvati are over here. Now, you're gonna throw this ball and try to get it into one of our cups. If the ball lands in the cup, someone from my team has to drink whatever's in thay cup. Whoever has no cups leftover in the end loses, yeah?"
You glanced towards Theo, standing in a dark corner with a few of his Slytherin friends. The drink he held in his hand was hovering near his face, his eyes dark as he watched your every movement, while his friends were having a lively chat. You grinned and turned back to the others, standing right in front of the edge of the table. Ron and Harry started to cheer for you, Ginny ran a hand down your side. You sent a small smile your way before tossing the ball down the tablez landing it right in the first cup. The other team groaned and Seamus downed the alcohol, tossing the cup to the side.
The game went on for quite some time - your team had won, but only just. Ron had drank most of the alcohol and was now flirting very obviously with Hermione, who seemed unsure of whether to continue studying or listen to him. As a new song came on, Ginny pulled on your hand, dragging you to the crowd of the dancing bodies.
"Come on!" She exclaimed over the loud music. "I promise, he'll be mad once he sees us dancing together!" She grabbed your arms and threw them around her neck, her hair swaying as she nodded her head to the beat. You danced with her, your faces so close to one another that you could feel yourselves sharing the hot breath that left your mouths. Ginny glanced at something behind you and said, "He hasn't done anything the entire night, he's just been standing there. I think he needs a little more motivation."
Something mischievous twinkled in Ginny's eyes - you narrowed your own at her. "Just what exactly are you thinking, Ginerva?"
Ginny scoffed, a wide grin forming on her face. "Did you seriously just call me by my full name?"
"As a matter of fact, I did. I don't like that look on your face."
Ginny rested her hands on your waist, swaying her hips in unison with yours, bringing her face close to you. "I promise if you kiss me, he'll do something about it." She rushedly added, "I won't do anything if you don't want to though, it was just an idea."
You bit your bottom lip, contemplating the idea. Ginny wasn't necessarily wrong, it was a pretty good idea and would probably get some sort of rise out of Theo. You glanced back at her with assured eyes, asking, "Is he looking at us now?"
"Yeah, why -"
"Good," you responded, smashing your lips against Ginny's. It didn't feel like anything you've felt with anyone before - no butterflies blossoming in your stomach, no fuzziness growing in your head, just lips against lips. You pulled away suddenly, looking at Ginny with wide eyes. "Sorry!" You exclaimed, now thinking you should have asked her if it was okay before kissing her. But she wasn't looking at you.
You turned to look at what she was smirking at and found Theo marching over to you, drink in his hand discarded. You turned to look back at Ginny, but she had disappeared, leaving you alone to deal with the fallout. When you turned back, he was standing in front of you.
"I know what you're doing," Theo said, his breath erratic and not at all uniform. You smirked up at him, stepping closer so that your head was practically meeting his chest. Your fingers crawled up his arms and you watched his reaction.
"And what exactly am I doing, Theo?" He scoffed and glanced away. He said nothing, causing you to frown. You grabbed his chin with your hand, turning his head so that your eyes met again. "Come on, say it."
"You're trying to make me jealous!" He exclaimed angrily. "Waltzing around on her arm, kissing her, when we both know that you don't even like her like that."
"And why wouldn't I like her, Nott?"
"Because you're supposed to like me!" He huffed, his arms raised like a petulant child. "What, you're going to pretend as though you haven't spend months flirting with me?"
"Are you?" You returned with a raised eyebrow, taking a step forward. "Don't pretend as though you didn't have your tounge down Daphne Greengrass' throat only three days ago!"
"I don't care about her, I care about you!" He shouted back.
"Then prove it! And that's not an invitation for you to kiss me, that's me asking you to show me you really do care about me."
"Fine then! I will!"

Entwined Realms || Legolas
Summary: Request: So I thought about this idea with Legolas x reader where the reader is the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn (which makes her princess of Lothlorien and a very high elf) and she is nervous because its commonly known that Galadriel and Thranduil dont like each other (she is still his superior but you get the point) and the reader and Legolas have a dinner or some council or something together with their parents.
A/N: This was one of my favs to write. Just love everything LOTR... please keep them coming! Thank you for the request @lillisummers
Pairing: Legolas x Female Reader
Word Count: 4.1k +
TW: Talks of war/death
Tumblr media
In the timeless realm of Lothlórien, you, the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn, walked among the golden trees with a heavy heart filled with the weight of ancient grudges. It had been many years since you last tread upon these familiar paths, for you had spent much of your time in Rivendell, aiding in the healing of those who bore the scars of war.
As a princess of the high elves, you bore the burden of your lineage with grace. Yet the tension between your mother and Thranduil, the Elvenking of Mirkwood, weighed heavily upon you. The animosity between them was no secret, and you often found yourself caught in the midst of their disagreements. You were torn between loyalty to your mother and the desire for unity among your people after the war of the ring. Your return to Lothlórien had been sudden, called back by your father during the darkest days of the war. The news of battles raging across middle earth had filled you with dread. Yet, you knew that your place was by your family's side, lending whatever aid you could in the struggle against the darkness.
Despite the discord that lingered between your realms you held onto hope, believing in the power of unity to overcome adversity. The memories of Celebrian's capture and torture haunted you still. She drove your determination to see an end to the suffering that had plagued your people for so long.
As you walked beneath the golden canopy of the trees, you found solace in the familiar sights and sounds of Lothlórien. The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, the soft glow of the evening sun filtering through the branches. They spoke to you of peace and beauty, reminding you of all that was worth fighting for in this world. Your steps carried you towards a familiar spot. The quiet glade where the gravestones of those fallen in battle lay. The air was hushed. The only sound was the soft whisper of leaves and the gentle trickle of water from the nearby streams.
Stopping by the gravestones, you traced your fingers over each weathered stone, feeling the weight of loss settle upon your heart. Here, beneath the earth, lay the brave souls who had given their lives in service of a greater cause. A cause that you had fought for alongside them. Your thoughts turned to Haldir, the gallant Marchwarden who had stood by your side in the darkest of times. His laughter, his kindness, his unwavering loyalty… they were memories that you held dear, memories that would live on long after he had passed from this world. At one point you were convinced you would marry him but that was before he was taken so suddenly from you.
Closing your eyes, you allowed yourself a moment of silence. A moment to remember those who had been taken from you too soon. Their faces flashed before your eyes, friends, fighters, and loved ones alike. Each one leaving behind an indelible mark upon your soul. And yet, amidst the sorrow, there was also hope. Hope for a future where their sacrifices would not be in vain. Where the darkness would be banished for good and the light would shine so brightly once more. With a silent prayer upon your lips, you vowed to carry their memory with you always, to honor their legacy in all that you did.
As you stood amidst the gravestones, lost in memories and reflections, a soft voice broke through the silence. She was calling your name. You turned to see your mother, Galadriel, approaching with a gentle smile upon her lips. Her eyes, always so wise and knowing, held a depth of understanding that eased the ache in your heart.
"Y/n," she said, her voice like the gentle rustle of leaves in the wind, "I have been searching for you. It is good to see you home again. You look well my love."
You returned her smile, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort wash over you at the sight of her familiar face. "It is good to be home, Mother," you replied, stepping forward to embrace her.
Galadriel held you close, tight. Her arms a reassuring embrace amidst the turmoil of emotions swirling within you. "You have been missed, my dear," she said softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
As you pulled away, Galadriel's gaze softened. Her eyes filled with a mixture of pride and affection. "There is much to discuss," she said, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "But first, I have news that I believe will bring you much joy."
Curiosity piqued, you listened as Galadriel spoke of the upcoming marriage between your niece, Arwen, and Aragorn, the King of Gondor. The news filled you with a sense of anticipation, the prospect of a wedding bringing a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that had shrouded middle earth for so long. "I would be honored to attend," you said. Your heart swelling with love for your family and excitement for the joyous occasion to come.
Galadriel smiled, her eyes sparkling with pride. "I had no doubt that you would," she said, her voice tinged with warmth. "Come, let us return to Caras Galadhon and begin preparations. There is much to do, and little time to waste." She motioned you to follow her.
With a nod of agreement, you fell into step beside your mother. It felt as though the weight of grief and loss lightened by the promise of love and celebration on the horizon. As you walked the golden light of Lothlórien illuminated your path guiding you towards a future filled with possibility.
Too quickly the day of celebration arrived. The grand halls of Minas Tirith were adorned with banners and flowers, filling the air with a sense of festivity and anticipation. You, dressed in your finest elven attire, mingled with the guests. Your heart was aflutter with excitement and nerves for your niece and the King of Gondor. Amidst the bustling crowd, your eyes scanned the faces of those gathered taking in the sight of strangers and acquaintances alike. And then your gaze met that of a mysterious elven stranger across the ornate courtyard who you did not recognize.
His eyes were a captivating shade of blue. They held a warmth and kindness that drew you in, sending a shiver down your spine. For a brief moment it felt as though the world around you had faded away leaving only you and this enigmatic stranger in a universe of your own making. But as quickly as the moment had come, it was gone. Broken by the sound of laughter and music drifting through the air you tore your gaze away. Your cheeks flushed with a mixture of curiosity and excitement, heart racing with the memory of that brief but electrifying encounter.
Though you knew not who he was, nor what fate had in store for you. You couldn't shake the feeling that this chance meeting was somehow significant. And as you allowed yourself to be swept away by the joyous festivities you couldn't help but wonder about the identity of the mysterious elven stranger who had captured your attention with a single glance.
As the celebration unfolded you found yourself standing beside Arwen, basking in the glow of her happiness as she greeted guests and well-wishers. The air was filled with laughter and music. The joyous atmosphere infectious as people celebrated the union of Arwen and Aragorn. But amidst the revelry your attention kept drifting back to the beautiful blonde elf who had caught your eye earlier. He stood amidst a group of guests, his presence commanding and his gaze holding a quiet intensity that seemed to draw you in.
Unable to contain your curiosity any longer you turned to Arwen with a hint of nervousness in your voice. "Arwen," you began, pointing subtly towards the mysterious elf, "who is that?"
Arwen followed your gaze, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she noticed your interest in the stranger. "Ah, him," she said, her tone tinged with mystery. "That is Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood."
Legolas. The name echoed in your mind. Though you knew little about him there was something about the way he carried himself, the way his eyes seemed to hold a thousand untold stories that intrigued you beyond measure. As Arwen spoke of Legolas' exploits and noble deeds you found yourself captivated by the tales of his courage and valor. And though you knew it was foolish to be so taken with a stranger, you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to him. Something that called to you on a level you couldn't quite understand.
With a grateful smile you thanked Arwen for indulging your curiosity. Though your mind was already consumed with thoughts of the mysterious Prince of Mirkwood. And as you turned your attention back to the festivities you couldn't help but wonder what secrets lay hidden beneath the surface of the captivating blonde elf who had captured your attention with a single glance.
As the evening wore on, the atmosphere grew more relaxed. You found yourself drawn into the lively conversations and laughter that filled the air.
As if he had known your every thought, he had come right up to you. A charming smile playing on his lips as he offered you a goblet of wine. "Care for some wine, my lady?" he asked, his voice smooth and all too inviting.
Grateful for the distraction you accepted the goblet with a smile, the cool liquid soothing the nerves that had been fluttering in your stomach. "Thank you," you replied, taking a sip and relishing the taste of the rich, fruity wine.
As you savored the wine, Legolas took a seat beside you. His eyes alight with curiosity as he extended his hand in introduction. "I am Legolas," he said, his tone warm and genuine. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
You felt a rush of excitement at the sound of his name, "And I am Y/n," you replied, your voice betraying a hint of nervousness that you quickly tried to mask.
Legolas smiled warmly at you, a glint of mischief dancing in his eyes as he raised his own goblet in a silent toast. "Well then, Y/n, here's to new acquaintances and delightful conversations," he spoke.
As the evening progressed, you found yourself drawn into conversation with Legolas. His easy charm and quick wit putting you at ease. Despite your initial nervousness you soon found yourself laughing and chatting with him as if you had known each other for years. With each passing moment you felt yourself growing more and more enchanted by Legolas. His presence filling you with a sense of warmth and belonging that you hadn't felt in a long time. Not since before your sister had set sail. And as you shared stories and laughter with the captivating Prince of Mirkwood you couldn't help but wonder what adventures lay in store for you both in the days to come.
When the topic turned to your family, you couldn't help but feel a pang of apprehension, unsure of how he would react upon learning the truth. "Your parents must be proud of you," Legolas remarked, his voice sincere as he glanced around at the grandeur of Minas Tirith. "To have a daughter as kind and courageous as you."
You smiled, touched by his words. Though a part of you hesitated to reveal your true lineage. "Thank you, Legolas," you replied, your voice tinged with uncertainty. "My parents... they are indeed proud, though our family is not without its complexities."
Legolas cocked his head with curiosity shining bright in his eyes. "Complexities?" he asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
You took a deep breath, steeling yourself for his reaction. "My parents are Celeborn and Galadriel," you confessed, watching closely for any sign of recognition or judgment in his expression.
To your surprise, Legolas' eyes widened in genuine surprise, his gaze softening with understanding. "Galadriel," he murmured, a hint of awe in his voice. "The Lady of Light herself. And Celeborn, the Lord of Lothlórien."
You nodded, relieved by his reaction. "Yes, though our family is not without its challenges," you admitted, your voice growing quiet. "There are... tensions between my parents and certain others in Middle-earth." You knew he knew, and he knew you knew. The two of you were dancing around your parents disdain for the other.
Legolas' expression grew somber. A shadow passing over his features. "I understand," he said, his tone tinged with empathy. "My own father, Thranduil, can be... difficult at times."
You felt a surge of empathy for Legolas knowing all too well the challenges that could arise from strained familial relationships. "It seems we are not so different after all," you said. A small smile playing at your lips.
Legolas returned your smile, his eyes warm and understanding. "Indeed," he said, his voice gentle. "But perhaps together, we can find a way to bridge the divide between our families."
Touched by his sincerity you could only keep grinning at him like a fool. "I would like that, Legolas," you replied. Your heart swelled with gratitude for the bond that was beginning to form between you.
As the night wore on into the wee hours of the morning you and Legolas found yourselves drawn deeper into each other's company. The hours quickly slipping away unnoticed as you laughed and talked beneath the starlit sky. The connection between you grew stronger with each passing moment. A bond of friendship and understanding blossoming into something deeper and more profound. Unfortunately, the celebration began to wind down. You found yourselves reluctant to part ways. The prospect of saying goodbye filling you with a sense of melancholy. "Perhaps we could extend our stay in Minas Tirith," Legolas suggested, his voice tinged with a hint of worry as if you wouldn’t accept. "There is still so much more to see and do. I have not seen this city without war disparaging it."
You nodded eagerly, the idea of spending more time with Legolas filling you with a sense of joy and excitement. "I would like that very much," you replied, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "There is still so much more we have yet to see. You distracted me tonight."
And so, you and Legolas remained in Minas Tirith for longer than planned, seizing every opportunity to steal away moments alone together amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether wandering the streets hand in hand or sharing quiet conversations in secluded corners. Each moment spent in Legolas' company felt like a precious treasure, a memory to be cherished for eternity.
As your extended stay in Minis Tirith came to an end the bond between you and Legolas deepened further than you could have imagined. Your hearts intertwining in a dance as old as time itself. One evening beneath the stars after your going away dinner the two of you sat together in the quiet solitude of the gardens, surrounded by the scent of blooming flowers and the gentle hum of crickets. The words you had been longing to say spilled forth from your lips.
"Legolas," you began, your voice barely above a whisper, "there is something I must confess to you." It truly was now or never for you did not know the next time you would see the elf that had captured your heart so quickly.
Legolas turned to you, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. "Yes, Y/n?" he replied, his voice soft and reassuring.
"I know this is quick,” you began, your voice soft and hesitant, "And we tend to do this slow, but I must admit... I really like you. More than a friend would."
You glanced away, cheeks flushing with embarrassment as you awaited his response. But when you dared to meet his gaze once more you found Legolas looking at you with a tender smile. His eyes filled with a warmth that mirrored your own feelings.
"Y/n," he said softly, reaching out to gently take your face in his hand, "your honesty means the world to me. I too have come to care for you deeply as well. As more than a friend would."
Your heart soared at his words. A sense of joy flooding through you at the knowledge that your feelings were reciprocated. And as you sat together in the quiet beauty of the gardens you knew that your bond with Legolas was something truly special. It was the beginning of a love story that was just beginning to unfold.
You didn’t want the night to end so you kept your wandering through the gardens. "Legolas," you began, your voice tinged with concern, "what do you think about... our families?"
Legolas glanced at you. His gaze thoughtful. "Ah, our esteemed parents," he replied with a wry smile. "Stubborn as ancient oaks and twice as difficult to move."
You couldn't help but laugh at his analogy, feeling a sense of relief at his lighthearted approach to the situation. "Yes, that's one way to put it," you agreed. A smile playing at the corners of your lips.
"But," Legolas continued, his tone turning more serious, "I believe they will come around in time. After all, love has a way of softening even the hardest of hearts."
You nodded feeling a flicker of hope kindling within you. "I hope you're right," you replied, leaning closer to him. "I just want them to see... how much we care for each other."
Legolas placed a comforting arm around your shoulders, drawing you closer to him. "They will, Y/n," he said softly, his voice filled with quiet confidence. "And until then, we'll just have to prove them wrong together."
As your time in Minas Tirith drew to a close, you couldn't shake the feeling that it was time for your parents and Legolas to meet. Despite the tension between your families, you were determined to show them that love knew no bounds, and that their differences could be set aside in the name of happiness.
On the morning that both of you were to depart you knew what you had to do. "Legolas," you began. Your voice tinged with nervousness, "I know it's unconventional, but... what if you and your father were to visit Lothlórien?"
Legolas blinked in surprise, clearly taken aback by your suggestion. "Visit Lothlórien?" he echoed, his brow furrowing in thought. "It's an... intriguing idea, Y/n, but I'm not sure how my father would feel about it."
You nodded, understanding Legolas' reservations. "I know it's a risk," you admitted, "but I believe that if he could experience the beauty and hospitality of Lothlórien for himself, he might begin to understand... and perhaps even appreciate our way of life."
Legolas considered your words for a moment before a smile spread across his face. "You may be right, Y/n," he said, his eyes alight with excitement. "Let's extend the invitation to my father and see what he says."
With a renewed sense of hope, you and Legolas set about preparing for Thranduil's visit to Lothlórien. You knew it wouldn't be easy, but you were determined to show both him and your parents that love could conquer even the deepest of divides. And so, with hearts full of anticipation and determination, you bid farewell to Minas Tirith. You knew that a new chapter of your journey was about to begin.
Tumblr media
As Legolas and an initially reluctant Thranduil arrived in Lothlórien, the tension between them was palpable. Thranduil's expression was stoic and reserved, while Legolas wore a strained smile who was clearly uncomfortable with the situation. You greeted them warmly, hoping to ease the atmosphere, but even your efforts seemed to fall flat in the face of the lingering animosity between your parents. The initial interactions were awkward only filled with polite but strained conversation and forced smiles.
But as the evening progressed and the wine flowed freely the atmosphere began to shift. Your parents, Thranduil, and Legolas found themselves gradually relaxing in each other's company. The rigid barriers between them slowly melting away under the influence of hope after the war and shared experiences. You watched with a mixture of joy and relief as the tension dissipated, replaced by laughter and genuine conversation. Thranduil who had initially been so guarded found himself opening up. He began to share stories and jokes with Celeborn and Galadriel as if they were old friends.
And Legolas, too, seemed to come alive in the warmth of his father’s acceptance. His smile growing more genuine with each passing moment. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders finally allowing him to truly be himself in their presence. He chuckled at one of Thranduil's jokes and clinked glasses with Celeborn, a genuine smile gracing his features.
In the midst of the conversation Legolas turned to you, his eyes sparkling with affection. "Meleth nin," he said softly, his voice filled with utmost warmth.
As Legolas inadvertently uttered the Elvish endearment, my love, the words hung in the air laden with the weight of unspoken emotions. Your heart skipped a beat at his slip-up, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through you.
"Really?" you exclaimed. Your eyes widened with surprise and utmost delight. For a moment you almost forgot that your parents and Legolas' father were present too caught up in the rush of emotion that swept over you.
Legolas blinked, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment as he realized what he had said in front of the parents. "I... uh, I mean..." he stammered, clearly flustered by your reaction.
But before he could finish, Thranduil let out a soft chuckle. The elvenking’s eyes twinkling with amusement. "It seems our children are more than just friends," he remarked to your parents. His tone surprisingly light-hearted.
You turned to your parents with a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "I guess we should have mentioned that sooner," you admitted feeling a surge of relief as you saw their understanding smiles.
Celeborn and Galadriel exchanged knowing glances before Celeborn spoke up. "Love has a way of revealing itself in unexpected ways," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "We are happy for you both."
Thranduil let out a small chuckle. His eyes crinkling with amusement. "Young love," he said before shaking his head in mock exasperation. "It seems like only yesterday that Legolas was just a boy chasing after butterflies in the woods."
Legolas rolled his eyes playfully at his father's comment. "I assure you, Ada, I have grown up a bit since then," he spoke. His tone teasing but affectionate.
Celeborn chuckled softly his eyes twinkling with mirth. "Indeed," he agreed, his voice warm. "But some things never change." He motioned to you with a knowing grin.
And as the tension melted away completely, replaced by laughter, and shared understanding, you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the unwavering support of your parents. With their blessing and acceptance, you and Legolas knew that your love story was only just beginning. You were finally destined to have a beautiful and unforgettable journey filled with laughter, joy, and the sweet promise of a future together. You had waited a long time for this. A very long time.
As the night grew deeper and the fire crackled softly, you and Legolas found yourselves immersed in a comfortable silence. The two of you basking in the warmth of each other's presence. Legolas turned to you with a playful glint in his eyes, taking your hand in his. "Well, my dear, it seems the hour grows late," he remarked, his voice soft and warm.
You nodded feeling a surge of affection for the elf beside you. "Yes, it does," you replied, a smile playing at the corners of your lips.
With a gentle tug on your hand Legolas rose to his feet pulling you up with him. "Allow me to escort you to your room," he said. His voice filled with gentle sincerity.
You followed him, the touch of his hand sending a shiver of anticipation down your spine. As you reached your door, Legolas turned to you. His eyes sparkling with mischief. "Until next time, meleth nin," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek before turning to leave.
A faint blush coated your cheeks at his actions. “Until next time, meleth nin.” You repeated. You watched him go with a smile playing at your lips as you realized that no matter what adventures lay ahead, you would face them with him. Oh, what a life.

part 1 - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
As soon as Azriel’s shadows had left the room to go out into the world to look for you, he himself pulled the covers off his body as he mentally called out for Rhysand, begging him to get to him as fast as possible.
He prayed a silent prayer, desperately hoping that he would hear him, that he wouldn’t be as lost to his dreams that his mind wouldn’t be aware of possible dangers. He cursed himself, he should have sent a shadow to summon him instead.
The room was dark and still, and the sun was still an hour away before it would rise over the snow covered mountaintops. Azriel was shivering, almost unable to breathe, despite the warm temperature in his room.
And his hands… his hands clawed at his chest, hoping to find a sliver of that golden thread he had felt singing in his chest while he had dreamt. It had to be real, it couldn’t just be a figment of his imagination. You had to exist.
Rhys appeared in front of him, sword in hand as his magic swept through the room, looking for any kind of danger, any kind of threat that would need his immediate assistant. But he came up empty.
The only thing he found was his brother's terrified hazel eyes. They were begging, pleading, but he never verbalized what it was he needed from his High Lord. So instead of asking he entered his mind that Azriel had left completely unprotected.
That in itself was warning enough to Rhys that something had to be terribly wrong. Azriel was one of two in the inner circle whose mind were always completely closed off to him. And it being laid bare before him was a testament to his desperation.
Rhysand scanned the memories but only found the dream that was slowly slipping from his brother's mind. Please save as much of her as you can, I beg of you.
The loss swept through the High Lord of the Night Court and he couldn’t help it when he winced at the sorrow that had crippled his always strong brother. Your face was already gone, only a blurred memory was left.
Rhys saved everything he could, he used all power he had in him to hopefully collect some of what was lost. Your name was long forgotten, the only thing that lingeried was the name that he had given you. Angel.
He felt the thread in his brother's chest, golden and singing to her, that mystery woman, and it felt just like his own. It was a feeling that could not be replicated. Who were you? Friend or foe? Was this all a manipulation? He shook his head, he could think about the implications later
There was such longing in him, such heartbreak at the now missing thread that had connected the two. Rhysand felt how the mere feeling threatened to break his own heart. To loose your bond, would be a fate worse than death.
Feyra stroked her mate's mental shield and sent love down their bond, it was enough for him to snap out of the pain so that he could continue the work, all the while he showed his mate what had happened to her dear friend.
He made sure to take all memories of you and store them away somewhere in his brother's mind where he would be able to access them whenever he wanted to. Whenever he needed to. And when that was done he could do nothing but hold the large Illyrian as he sobbed into his chest.
Tumblr media
The day had been terrible. The aching feeling in your chest hadn’t left you for even a second since you’d left your bed that morning. Your hand had constantly rested on your heart, rubbing soothing circles into your chest whenever you felt it ache.
Your eyes were focused on the liquid in your glass. The color of the whiskey, especially as the light shone through it reminded you of something. Which only made your heart arch a little more. You couldn’t help the wince your face made.
A cold hand grabbed the one of yours that was currently resting on the table next to a giant stack of papers. Your twin squeezed your hand to get your attention. He was concerned, and you understood why. It had been decades since you had been this absent, it had been decades since you shut him out.
“Are you okay?” he whispered, as to not draw attention to your lack of engagement in the meeting. You nodded and forced a smile, but you knew you hadn’t convinced him. Your twin flame gave you away.
Having a twin flame was rare, even amongst twins or especially close siblings. It was a bond that connected the two of you to one another, a silent way of communicating, a silent way of knowing if the other was okay. It also meant that the two of you could share your powers.
Your father had helped you to control it, to share without suffocating the fire that burned in your veins or the light that shone from every pore of your body. The two of you were his most prized possession, the lights of his life, the only remaining memory of his mate.
As the Highlord of Day dismissed his closest advisors with a wave of his hand, he asked his children to stay behind.
Helion sighed and pressed the bridge of his defined nose with two fingers. “What’s going on with the two of you?” He looked between you, almost worried.
Lucien shrugged. “Nothing’s going on” you could feel how he strained his voice to be as nonchalant as possible. Unfortunately, your father knew you both a little too well.
“Well that was a bad lie. Y/N, why don’t you give it a go?” He smirked as he tapped the tips of his fingers on the table in an almost teasing manner.
You rolled your eyes and dropped your hand from your heart. “It’s nothing” your voice was much more quiet than you had intended it to be. Which painted Helions face in worry.
“What happened between last night and this afternoon?” He leaned forward in his large chair, elbows resting on his thighs.
You picked at your nails, never meeting his eyes. All the while the wall your had build around your fire, around your light, collapsed.
Lucien stumbled backwards at the wave of your emotions that ran through him. Despite it not being as clear a connection as the bond he had with his mate, it could still be quite overwhelming. Especially when it came to emotions as strong as yours.
Helion was out of his chair and by your side in a second. “Oh my little star… What happened?” His hand came in contact with your cheek and as you leaned into his touch, you felt the tears breaking free from their prison.
“I don’t know?” Your eyes were desperate, your hand once again clawing at your chest. For the first time the men seemed to notice it and they both recognized the desperation behind the act.
“You found your mate?” Lucien whispered. You felt his disappointment and it broke your broken heart a little more.
There was nothing in the world that could’ve stopped the sob that escaped your throat as you launched yourself into your fathers chest. He cradled you in his arms as if you weren’t the fierce warrior he had raised you to be, as if you were something precious and easily broken. Because to him, you were.
“I wish I knew who he was, why is the mother so cruel? What have I done to deserve this kind of punishment? This kind of torture?” you said between panicked breaths.
“What do you mean?” Lucien quickly rushed to the two of you on the floor, forcing your dark eyes to meet his, as you clung to the already dampen shirt of your father.
“I dreamt of him, I felt the bond sing in my chest, and now… Now it’s just gone. I’ve never felt so hollow” Speaking the words aloud broke you even further. And despite them trying to get you to explain further it was impossible to understand what you were trying to tell them.
In the end Lucien picked you from your fathers arms and carried you to your room, tucking you in. The crying and the anxiety had drained you quicker than your typical morning sparring and light wielding.
He hadn’t known you for more than a few decades, but you were one of the few people in this godforsaken world he would risk everything to protect. And seeing you like this, broke him.
Helion was just outside your door when Lucien exited your room, he was talking to a few scholars, no doubt ordering them to scour every library in Prythian to find any record of what had happened to you.
“Is she asleep?” He asked as he saw his son. Lucien nodded.
“It almost sounds like he had a vision, I’ll get Elain here, she might have a better idea on what to do”
Helion sighed. “Let’s hope. Losing your mating bond is enough to drive anyone insane, but losing a bond that has never physically existed? Cauldron, I don’t know what it’ll do to her psyke”
“We’ll protect her dad, as always” Helion smiled at his son, pride filling his heart and soul.
“Yes we will”
Tumblr media
“This is insane,” Cassian said as he walked in circles in front of the windows of Rhysands office.
“I still can’t believe that Elaine just left without saying anything, we could really use her right now. She might be the only one on the planet who has a clue as to what this is” Rhys said as he held a hand on his mate's shoulder.
Somewhere in the room Nesta rolled her eyes. “Her mate needed her, so she left. You would’ve done the exact same”
Amren sighed. “Tell us more about her, boy” she said as she looked towards Azriel.
He only shook his head in response.“I can’t keep doing this, it physically hurts not being able to remember her!”
Azriel once again clawed at his leathers, the act itself made everyone winch. This had to be a fate worse than death, Feyra kept thinking.
“Maybe I should go and get Elaine, I mean if I tell her how important it is, she’ll come, right?”
Feyra shrugged as she saw how Azriel pulled one of the throw pillows on the couch closer to his chest.
There was sorrow and sadness in the general’s eyes. He hated that the enemy was not something he could strike down and kill. It was a hopeless feeling that took root in the lord of bloodshed.
“She won't leave if Lucien needs her, she will help him until she’s no longer needed. Just like you would do for me, or Rhys would do for Feyre” Nesta said as she ran her hands up and down his arms to sooth her mate.
“I can’t just stand by and do nothing” he whispered as he laid his forehead against hers.
“What about your shadows boy? Do they have anything to report” Amren said, as she stared Azriel down.
He winced at the mere reminder of the disappointment he had felt whenever a few of them had returned from a court, an island or even the continent without any news of you. Maybe it had just been an insanely realistic dream, maybe it wasn’t a sign from the mother.
Maybe you just didn’t exist. The mere thought brought tears to his eyes and he felt his chest retracting. No you were real. He knew you were.
“So far nothing to report, they can’t find her…” He said as a tear escaped his eye. He didn’t even whisk it away, he just let them fall silently.
“Can I show the rest the dream? They might pick up on something that we didn’t? That way you wont have to explain it further…” Rhysand said as he sat in front of Azriel. He nodded at the request and tried sending a smile his way to express the gratitude.
The inner circle nodded as they braced themselves, just a second before your dream flashed before their eyes.
Amren felt like her heart was being ripped out of her chest as she felt the sorrow that Azriel had felt as you disappeared before him.
Feyra felt that familiar feel of the bond that had snapped in his chest when you had pulled him into your arms at the ball.
Morrigan however focused on everything besides the emotions that he had felt. She focused on the details in your dress. The silver threads, the beading, so familiar, but somehow still out of reach. But as you had prepared to spare with the Spymaster, a necklace caught her eye. The diamond was beautiful, a color so dark it almost stole all the light around it.
It was familiar to her. But for some reason she couldn’t place where she had seen it before. It was a distant memory, one from long ago. So instead of giving Azriel hope, she chose to only disclose this information to her cousin.
He took her information and tucked it neatly away. The two of them would go over every memory of Mor’s mind until you found out where or who that necklace belonged to.
Tumblr media
Elaine left your room and met her mate outside in the hall. He was with her in a second. Holding her close. Her eyes had that same sparkle as whenever she had a vision. She had seen something, Lucien only hoped that it was good news.
“What did you see, my flower?” he whispered as he kissed her temple. She breathed him in, grounding herself in the reality she now found herself to be in.
“It wasn’t a vision, whatever that dream was, it’s not something that will take place in the future. It’s almost like it was its own world, its own reality.” She shook her head. “It was terrible Lucien, the loss she feels, it’s heartbreaking”
He pulled her into his chest as she sobbed at the mere thought of losing that thread herself.
“The future's not set in stone yet, she might find him, she might not. Whatever needs to happen for that to manifest, it hasn’t happened yet. All we can do is wait, wait and help her”
The mated pair heard a chair fly through the room as Helion had thrown it against one of the walls. It shattered at impact. The highlord of day fell to his knees, and he broke down into a sobbing mess. Just as he had when he had found you on his doorstep all those centuries ago.
Here you were, just as weak as you had been that day. But he was powerless, there was nothing he could do to protect you.
Tumblr media
You laid in your bed, and looked out on the dark sky of the night. It was beautiful, and it almost felt like the darkness was calling out to you.
Despite the cold stone beneath your feet you walked out onto the balcony. The wind caressed your skin, it cooled your inner fire that threatened to break free from where you had caged it up inside of you. It threatened to seep out destroy the world until it located him.
And just when you wanted to scream, curse the mother, the cauldron and all other gods for this hell they had put you in, you saw a flicker of darkness through the corner of your eye.
It almost looked like a thick smoke had come to life. It slithered towards you as a snake would do in the grass. It was hesitant, curious, but it also almost seemed afraid. You reached your arm out towards it, wanting to feel it, wanting to know what it was.
The shadow stood up, the movement was almost feline. It seemed to analyze you, looking you up and down, as if you would want to capture it and cause it harm if you got a hold on it.
But as your fingers came in touch with it, as you felt the soothing cold from it, the fire that had burned through you all day was calmed, and the previously shy shadow exploded with excitement.
It twirled around your fingers, up your wrist, around your arms, until it whirled around your neck, making your hair sway in the wind that it created. The feeling was soothing, and the ache dulled in your chest, as if it healed a small piece of your heart.
As the shadow calmed it came to rest around your ear. And just when you thought you had seen all it had to offer it whispered in your ear.
Ours, ours, ours… Our mate.
And as if the missing piece of a puzzle had been returned to you, it all clicked into place. His face, his name, even his smell had been hidden in the shadows he always surrounded himself with, and this time they had hidden him even from you as you had woken up.
You had always seen him at functions, hiding away in the corners of the room. His beauty was one that had always captivated you, but you had never dared to get close to him. You had left him alone, never realizing who he was to you.
Azriel Shadowsinger, the spymaster of the Night Court, was your mate.
“Let's return you to your master shall we?” The shadow danced in and out of your hair in delight, before slithering down your arm, and sinking into your skin, branding it with a shadow almost as if it claimed you.
You could only hope that he would claim you too.

Dear John | Part 2
Masters of the Air Fanfiction
Tumblr media
Part 1
Series Summary: Major John Egan wasn’t the pen-pal sort but a couple of hours into a dark night full of writing condolence letters he finds himself wondering why he never tried his hand at the nicer forms of correspondence. Who better to reanimate his numb inspiration than the glamorous Miss Lana Tierney? -the army’s girl next door, the pinup so prolific she was practically a wall paper print and Bucky’s long-standing cinematic crush. It’s not like she’ll read it anyways. Right? Right.
Warnings: suggestive language, crass vocabulary, the vintage form of sexting -honestly this is mostly fluffy in reply to his more overt letter
Author’s note: after episode four I’ve got feelings and fics for this universe that are far ahead of these establishing pieces. So I’ve gone ahead and tossed this preliminary one out but I may very well skip around and ahead to October next. At least now y’all know: she wrote him back. Hehe. If it’s of interest, I’ll probably end up writing John’s reaction to receiving this response as well as Gale’s response to realizing his friend actually went and sent that awful thing.
Date: Early August, 1943
Dear John, (I’m sorry Major Egan, I just had to)
Thank you for your kind letter of the 18th. It’s been many years since I received so delightful a correspondence or so candid an expression of admiration. And you should know I keep most of the letters the sweet people of this country send me. They’re stacked in quite an orderly fashion in my various garages, kept for the rainy days to peruse and keep the blues away and also so I might try very hard to reply. I don’t take such affection for granted. It’s humbling really, always has been, to be so loved by folks but it’s another level entirely to be singled out by someone as brave and impressive as yourself.
I found your letter to be heartfelt and wonderfully brave and in an effort to be equally transparent, you should know that when I finished it I clutched it to my breast and whispered half a dozen prayers for you. Or as you might say, I held it to my knockers.
That’s an awful word, you must know that Major.
As is “rack”, for that matter, but I’ve a sneaking suspicion that you would make it sound charming as even your blotted paper was electric. How could you dare to praise my film set flapjacks and mention making babies? I’m fizzing just glancing at it. You really must be quite the fella and I’m terribly sad now that our rendezvous, such as you say it was, got cut short. You must reprimand your friend -Buck, is it?- and tell him he did an bad deed that night. There’s nothing I like better than duets and hamburgers, we might’ve been one of the great loves by now if he hadn’t meddled. But don’t be too hard on him, if he’s the sort to take it well, kiss him for me, after you chide him.
But since we are being honest, I must admit, reading your letter, being privy to your thoughts, seeing myself through your eyes as it were - dear man, I feel rather riled. Quite riled, in fact. Why, I haven’t felt riled in a while, not like this. Not like an ordinary girl with an extraordinary boy. Do you know what I mean?
Maybe you don’t.
I mean regular, old fashioned flustered. That’s what you’ve made me. And thank you for that, John. Can I call you Johnny? I wonder if you’re the nickname sort, or if you’re real stern and serious, a real John-John. Not a Johnny at all. But either way, I think you deserve a treat, for being so nice, Major Egan. For reminding me I can feel my pulse somewhere besides my wrists before a show -and for all you’re doing in the war, besides. There seems to be no safer hands to trust this to, you do seem so very fond of them, I am led to believe you’d be protective of them, too.
Enclosed is something for the personal morale, I hope you’ll think of me nightly with it at hand, in fact, I’m so excited about it I’ve taken this ill advised measure to insure you do. I’d very much like a report, do they live up to your expectations? They’re homegrown, after all, I hadn’t much say in them but now I’ve got them, I don’t see why they shouldn’t do their bit to keep you alive. A small sacrifice.
One of those reasons you mentioned, John, you’ve so many of them, more than you know. A million souls over here rooting you on, insisting you make it out the other side.
I’m forefront among them, I’ll be scanning the crowd when I come to Europe -because I will, at your invitation. Perhaps if you send me a picture of your own mug I won’t be looking a fool asking every man in uniform if I remind them of an acorn. Are you going to tell me what on earth that means? I’ve tried to work it out but I always end up with some mathematical conundrum and I just know in my heart of hearts you wouldn’t let me down like that, would you Major? It’s something awfully salacious, isn’t it? Please let it be!
I’m a vain little thing and I can’t deny the way this poor heart of mine is all pitter pattering at the thought of you being so awful while also so nice. It’s a strange blend, and rather like my coke, I do prefer my men mixed.
Best wishes, may you have cloudless skies and fresh coffee to your heart's content. My sources -and I’ve excellent ones, an upside of working the war bond circuit- tell me you’re airforce. I think that’s remarkable and I hope you give that picture some thought. Mine, and yours.
Your vain little friend,
Julia Jean Turner
P.S.-I’m only ever ‘The Lana Tierney ‘ to strangers, and we aren’t strangers now, are we? not if you’re to take my picture to your bunk. i suspect you may have already taken that liberty. who’s to say I did not take similar liberties upon reading certain stirring passages of your letter? Xx 💋
__insert vintage titty pic__
Whew this week was a doozy wasn’t it? Here’s some fluff for those of y’all who needed it, and I can promise angst soon for those who want to stay in the soul shattering mood. Hope you enjoy. Feedback is a writer’s lifeblood, let me hear your screams.
Drop a comment to let me know if you’d like to be tagged in any of my MOTA fics. Xo

Can you do sukuna x Muslim reader? Where he is going through a hard time and she prayers for him(Arrange marriage but sweet kinda of relationship) it's okay if you don't want to write it. Love your writing:)
Yes! Omg I'd love to! Hope you like it!
It was an arranged marriage between you and you father's friends eldest son; Sukuna. You were having dinner one day with your parents and your dad had asked you if you'd be interested in an marriage with a nice man. You blinked at that question and shrugged, "I mean as long as you know he's a nice man I guess it's not bad in meeting him," you replied with a small smile.
After a week both your families decided to go out for dinner at a fancy restaurant and you saw him for the first time; he was not a talkative type, he was a gentleman and very well-known for his devotion to his work and family. You both talked then and there; he was charming not once he said something to make you mad or upset. He was very soft spoken to you. Your father had informed you after that dinner that Sukuna agreed to the wedding and he also said that if you reject him he'll understand and it's not pressure on your side to agree but you already decided that wanted to marry him; he was nice, gentleman and respectful and every other person that knew him said kind things about him.
Once you both agreed to get married Sukuna had texted you asking about what are your requirements for the wedding venue, cake, dress and everything else to which he also added that you shouldn't look at the price of anything; whatever your heart desires he'll agree to it. He wanted you to be happy, as of that didn’t already captured your heart, you both picked everything for the wedding together; nothing extravagant but very classy wedding with few of your friends and families.
Sukuna had bought you a home and it was not less than a castle; after the wedding he still spoiled you with gifts, and handed you all his credit cards to buy whatever you need. However you'd refuse to use his money on random things even though he said his money is your money from now on. He's been nothing but kind to you but also a bit shy some might say cold hearted; but he just didn't want you to fell uncomfortable around him. He'd often walk past a room and see you praying and would just stand at the doorframe to watch you and leaving before you see him.
One of the days he had a rough day, nothing seems to be in his favour that day, his meeting ended badly, the clients were complaining about some services and few stakeholders were arguing about something in the company. He got home with a heavy headache and saw the hot dinner you prepared for him, you entered the room and saw him, with a smile you took his bag and coat greeting him, "how was your day?" You asked and he just smiled not trying to bother you with his bad day, "it was good, I'm hungry." You nodded "come, let's eat, I made your favorite today." He was very grateful to have you at this moment, he ate his dinner and showered before going to sleep with a headache. Unfortunately the headache caught up to his sleep and he woke up in the middle of the night to find you not in bed, rubbing his temple he got up knowing where you are; in the prayer room.
Unlike everyday he didn't just stand by the doorframe to watch you pray. You werr done praying when you started to say the dua, "Dear God, thank you for all the blessings you gave me, thank you for the health and thank you the most for sending me such an amazing husband. He's very kind to me and caring towards me, I pray you bless him with health and well-being and a long life where we can be together always and honour each other, I really appreciate and," you paused with a smile, "I love him so much, I just wish he'd be less shy," you chuckled before continuing, "please God , keep him happy and safe, Ameen." Sukuna felt his heart melt at your words, he waited few minutes before knocking and walking in the room, you turned to smile at him as he took the seat beside you on your prayer mat. "Did I wake you up? I apo-" He cut your sentence short by placing his head on your shoulder as he sat beside you, "I've been feeling down all day, I had a very bad day-" he couldn't speak further without tearing down and you immediately wrapped your arms around him protectively so did he, holding you for dear life as he spoke and cried while you rubbed his back, "I don't know what to do, I want to just hide away and do n-nothing I'm just so so tired from today, I- I promise I'm not l-like this always b-but-"
"You have been working so hard lately, you need to rest, Husband," you softly spoke gently caressing his pink hair with your soft hands, "please, can you take few days off of work? You need to rest, it's not good to work and feel such pressure. Can you?" He nodded in you embrace, "y-yes I can take few days off." He slowly removed himself from your embrace chuckling as he whipped his nose and you whipped his tears with the end of your hijab before he placed his head on your lap and taking your hand and placing it on his forehead, "Sweetheart, would you please pray for me everyday?" He asked and you smiled down at him as you gently massaged his head, "with my whole heart, Husband." He blushed.
"Call me by my name," he chuckled, Now it was your turn to blush, "No!" You replied, and he chuckled, taking your other hand and placing his on his chest, "come on, just once, say my name." You rolled your eyes and spoke, "Sukuna." He blinked at you, "Again? Please?" He asked this time softly, and you tried hard to hide your smirk as you called his name, still massaging his head, "are you feeling better now? Sukuna?" He smiled and nodded eagerly, then closing his eyes, letting you massage his head some more.

Angel of God, My Guardian Dear Chapter 6: Reader
Rating: Explicit (18+, MINORS DNI)
Pairing: Matt Murdock x F!Reader
Story Summary: While speaking at a local school for visually impaired youth, Matt runs into his childhood best friend, with whom he lost touch almost 20 years prior.
Warnings/Tags: Mentions of p in v sex, praise kink, dirty talk, tiniest bit of D/S undertones if you squint, Matt is a little shit who likes to turn Reader on at inappropriate times 😈
Word Count: ~3,100
A/N: None.
"...The Mass is ended. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord," the priest at Clinton Church intoned at the end of Mass a couple of days later.
"Thanks be to God," Y/N -- along with Matt and the rest of the parishioners -- responded automatically.
"Please join us in singing the closing song, 'On Eagles Wings', number 280 in the Gather songbook," the head of the church choir stated. "Number 280, 'On Eagles Wings'."
Y/N sang along as the recessional proceeded, waiting until the priest had passed before gathering her purse and following Matt out of the pew.
"I'm kind of nervous," Y/N admitted as they headed towards the back of the church.
Matt took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Having flashbacks to our youth?"
Y/N huffed out a breath. "More like I'm about to see your mother -- who is a nun , mind you -- for the first time in 20 years, especially after the things we did to each other last night… and this morning."
Matt chuckled. "Trust me, angel, my mother knows I'm no saint. You, however, she might be surprised to find out has a dark side…"
He leaned in to whisper in her ear. "... My good girl. "
Y/N's face heated as she sucked in a breath. While their first night together had been soft and slow, the previous night had been wild and passionate. Y/N had encouraged Matt to 'let the Devil out' , and boy , had he -- in the best possible way.
He had whispered filthy praises into her ear while he had taken her from behind, the hand that had been carefully wrapped around her throat restricting air to her lungs also holding her upright against him as he had thrust up into her. "Fuck, you're a dream, Y/N, taking me so well," he had murmured. "Such a good girl, moaning so prettily for me, letting me know how good I'm making you feel. Used to imagine us together just like this, angel -- on our knees in the library at St. Agnes, having to keep you quiet while I stuffed you full of my cock so Sister Bernadette wouldn't overhear and know what we were up to..."
Y/N had let out a breathy moan and clenched around him in response at the thought of Matt's long, thick cock dragging slowly in and out of her, his hand over her mouth muffling her whimpers of pleasure as he whispered what a good girl she was being for keeping quiet while they waited for Sister Bernadette to pass by...
Matt had chuckled darkly and slightly tightened his grip. "Oh, you like that idea, don't you Y/N? You like the thought of possibly getting caught down on your knees with my cock deep inside you, my name the only prayer on your lips while I'm filling you up? Want everyone to know who makes you feel this good, huh angel? Want to show everyone that you're mine and mine alone?"
The delicious pressure inside of Y/N had built up to a pinpoint, shattering as she came with a weak croak of Matt's name.
Matt had continued to thrust into her in just the right spot, quickly triggering a second orgasm before spilling inside her with a groan.
After they were both spent, Matt had immediately switched into protective mode, making sure that he hadn't squeezed Y/N's throat too tight and accidentally left bruises. "Never want to hurt you," he had murmured as he rained gentle kisses where his fingers had been minutes before. "Wanted you for so long, so fucking lucky that I finally get to be with you. Love you so much, my beautiful angel, want to be with you forever."
Y/N had sighed blissfully, boneless from the back-to-back, earth-shattering orgasms Matt had just given her. "Mmmm, me too. Love you, Matty."
Matt had then cleaned her up and made sure she drank some water, then had pulled her into a cuddle as they had fallen asleep together.
That morning Y/N had woken up to Matt latching onto her like a koala and snoring softly into her neck. She had kissed him awake then stroked him to hardness before taking him into her, still slightly sensitive from the previous night.
They had made love slowly again, Matt's hands gripping Y/N's hips as she rode him into oblivion.
Y/N quickly looked around to make sure that they hadn't been overheard by any of the other exiting parishioners. "We are in church, " she hissed.
Matt gave her a kiss. "It'll be fine. Like I told you, my mother will be absolutely delighted to see you again… no matter what sort of kinky fun you got up to with her son the previous night."
"Matthew!"
Matt chuckled and planted a kiss to the side of her head. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry, angel. I'll stop."
They exited the church and headed around the back of the building to the church offices.
Y/N waited as Matt knocked on the door of the inner office where Sister Maggie had told him to meet after he had called her and said that he needed to speak to her.
"Yes?" Sister Maggie's voice came through the door.
Y/N stepped out of the doorway so Sister Maggie wouldn't spot her as Matt opened the door and walked in. "Hi."
"Matthew, it's good to see you. Is everything okay? It sounded urgent on the phone." Sister Maggie sounded worried.
Matt cleared his throat. "Yes, everything is fine. Great, actually."
"Then what did you need to see me about? It's not like you to just pay me a social visit."
"Well it's more like someone else needed to see you…" Matt's voice grew louder. "You can come in now."
Y/N took a deep breath and opened the door, then walked in.
Sister Maggie gasped. "Is that -- Y/N ?"
"Hi, Sister Maggie," Y/N replied.
Sister Maggie walked over and wrapped her in a hug. "It's so good to see you, my dear."
Y/N hugged her back. "It's good to see you too. How have you been?"
"Oh, same as usual for the life of a nun." Sister Maggie stepped back. "Look at you, all grown up. How have you been? Are you back in New York?"
"I'm well. And yeah, I moved around a bit for work after college but I finally made my way back here about 5 years ago."
Matt grinned. "Y/N's a librarian at the Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library."
Sister Maggie shook her head fondly. "I'm really not surprised that that's the career path you chose. You were always in the library reading -- even more so after Matthew came along. I used to be able to hear you reading aloud to him when I would pass by."
Y/N smiled. "Yeah, those were some of my favorite memories and really influenced my decision to go into library science -- and special services in particular."
"See?" Matt added. "Despite what Sister Bernadette always said, I actually was a good influence on Y/N."
Sister Maggie huffed out a laugh. "You were both good for each other. So is that how you reconnected? Through the library?"
"Sort of," Y/N replied. "We bumped into each other at White Cane Day at the Lavelle School for the Blind on Wednesday -- I was there promoting our library services and Matt was a guest speaker. We talked for a bit then wound up having dinner together that evening, and well, it's been like no time has passed."
Sister Maggie smiled softly. "You two were always inseparable. I'm glad to see nothing's changed."
Matt smiled and took Y/N's hand in his, giving it a tender kiss. "Actually one thing has changed. We finally admitted how we had felt about each other, and luckily -- for me at least -- still do."
A bright smile spread across Sister Maggie's face. "I always suspected you two had feelings for each other."
Y/N laughed and gave Matt's hand a squeeze. "Yeah, Matt did say that you had expected that I'd be your daughter-in-law one day."
Sister Maggie's eyebrows raised. "You know I'm Matthew's biological mother?"
Y/N nodded. "Yeah, he told me."
"I told her everything," Matt added. "Even about me being Daredevil."
Sister Maggie looked even more surprised. "And you're okay with him going off and fighting criminals almost every night?"
Y/N shrugged. "I'm less okay and more understanding about it, although I did tell him to not do anything too reckless or stupid and actually get himself killed."
Sister Maggie sighed. "Hopefully he'll listen to you. Murdock men are so damn stubborn."
Y/N huffed out a laugh. "Oh, don't I know it."
Matt shook his head, a playful smile spreading on his lips. "I knew it was a bad idea getting you two in the same room again."
Y/N gave him a gentle nudge. "Oh, hush, you."
Matt chuckled and gave her a quick kiss on the temple. "Love you."
"Love you too."
Sister Maggie smiled at the two of them. "I'm really happy for you both. I couldn't have chosen someone more fitting for either of you."
Y/N nodded at her. "Thank you."
"We should probably get going," Matt said as the church bells chimed the half-hour. "We're Zooming with Y/N's aunt in a little while."
Sister Maggie nodded. "Okay."
Y/N gave Sister Maggie another hug. "It was really good to see you, Sister Maggie."
"You too, dear," Sister Maggie replied, giving Y/N an affectionate squeeze. "I'm so happy that Matthew found you again. Take good care of him for me, okay? And come see me again soon so we can catch up."
Y/N nodded. "Thank you, and of course I will -- on both fronts."
She and Matt bade Sister Maggie goodbye and walked back to the front of the church so they could hail a cab back to Y/N's apartment.
As soon as they made it back, Y/N got her laptop from her bedroom and set it on her coffee table. "Ready?"
Matt nodded, although he looked somewhat nervous.
Y/N gave him a quick kiss. "Love you."
"I love you too, angel."
Matt moved out of frame while Y/N sat and started the Zoom meeting.
She smiled as her aunt appeared on the screen. "Hi Aunt Ruth."
"Hi," Aunt Ruth replied. "How are you?"
"I'm good. How's your wrist doing? Did you wind up seeing the doctor for it?"
Aunt Ruth nodded. "Yes, it just wound up being a touch of tendonitis, so she told me to take it easy for a few days and prescribed some medication for it. I'll be fine soon though."
"That's good to hear."
"How was your week? Didn't you say you were exhibiting at a library conference? How did that go?"
"It was at a school, and yeah, actually…" Y/N looked over at Matt, who gave her an encouraging smile. "It went well. Really well, in fact, because I met someone -- well actually, it's more like I found someone. An… an old friend, someone I've missed terribly."
Aunt Ruth gasped softly. "You mean…"
Y/N turned towards Matt. "You want to join me?"
Matt took a deep breath and sat next to Y/N on the sofa, taking her hand in his.
Y/N gave Matt's hand a reassuring squeeze. "Aunt Ruth, this is Matthew Murdock, my best friend from while I was at St. Agnes. Matt, meet my Aunt Ruth."
"It's nice to finally meet you, Ms. Y/L/N," Matt said politely.
Aunt Ruth nodded. "It's nice to finally meet you too, Matthew."
"Matt and I ran into each other at that school I was exhibiting at on Wednesday," Y/N explained.
"Quite literally," Matt added with a chuckle. "Never been so happy to accidentally bump into someone though."
Y/N smiled over at Matt. "Me either."
Aunt Ruth nodded. "Well now, Matthew, I've heard a lot about you as a child from Y/N, but why don't you fill me in on the rest of it."
Matt cleared his throat and sat up a bit straighter. "Well, ma'am, you already know that I grew up at St. Agnes with Y/N, but after I left there I went to Columbia University, where I graduated with my Master's degree in law, then I opened my own law practice with my college roommate here in New York."
"Matt's handled some pretty high-profile cases over the years," Y/N added. "He and his partner helped take down a mob boss a few years ago, and he's gotten several people exonerated after they were falsely accused of some pretty serious crimes."
Matt nodded. "My partner and I believe in helping the innocent rather than taking cases from whichever client has the most money -- although we do also take on cases that will pay the bills, of course."
"Hmm." Aunt Ruth looked impressed. "So Y/N said you ran into each other at that school event? Do you have a child who's a student there?"
Real subtle, Aunt Ruth, Y/N thought.
Matt just smiled and shook his head. "No, ma'am, I actually don't have any children. I had been invited there to give a speech to the students on not letting their visual impairments define who they are and to show them that they could do anything they want to do and be whoever they want to be as long as they work hard and put their minds to it."
Y/N gave Matt's hand a squeeze. "That was a beautiful speech, by the way."
Matt shot her a smile. "Thanks. Anyway, when I read Y/N's name in the list of exhibitors I knew I had to go talk to her, and in my haste I accidentally bumped into her."
Y/N let out a light laugh. "I still maintain that I bumped into you, but the point is that we talked for a minute but since the exhibits were about to open we decided to have dinner together so we could catch up."
She took a deep breath. "We had a nice, long talk, part of which was about how we had felt about each other as kids and the fact that even though we had both grown as people and had had other relationships over the years our feelings for each other never went away."
Matt squeezed her hand encouragingly.
Y/N smiled up at him. "So needless to say we've decided to see where this goes."
Aunt Ruth nodded, a soft smile on her face. "Well then, I can safely presume that you'll be accompanying Y/N when she visits me next month, correct, Matthew? I'd like to get to know the man who has had my niece's heart all these years."
Matt nodded, relief visible on his face. "Yes, ma'am. I can definitely do that."
"Good. Now, I have to run -- I've got my pokeno group in an hour and I still need to make something to bring -- but I'll see you both soon."
"Have a good time, Aunt Ruth," Y/N said. "Love you."
"Love you too, dear. Matthew, looking forward to meeting you in person."
"You too," Matt replied.
"Bye now."
"Bye." Y/N ended the call and turned to Matt. "There, that wasn't so bad, was it?"
Matt shook his head. "Actually, it went way better than I expected."
He gave her a kiss. "So when exactly are we going? I'll let Foggy know that I'll be out of town."
"Labor Day weekend. I was going to fly out the Friday afternoon before and come back on Labor Day. Would that work for you?"
Matt nodded. "Yeah, that's fine. I don't have court scheduled for that week and the office is closed on the holiday."
"Okay. I haven't booked my flight yet, so we can just book together now if you want."
"Yeah, that sounds fine. Do I need to get a hotel or anything?"
"No, Aunt Ruth has a guest room. Any airline preferences or whatever?"
Matt shook his head. "Whatever you choose is fine with me."
"Okay." Y/N's phone buzzed with an incoming text. "Oh, wait a second."
She picked it up. "Aww."
Matt tilted his head curiously. "What is it?"
Y/N shook her head. "Aunt Ruth. She said, 'I've hated seeing you so heartbroken all these years and have been praying for you to find peace. I'm glad you found Matthew again -- I'm looking forward to meeting him properly'."
"Well that's nice of her."
Y/N huffed out a laugh as her phone chimed again. "Yeah but now she says, 'Also I can't wait to rub the fact that you're dating a handsome, successful attorney in Marisol Vaughn's face at Pokeno later. Might finally shut her up about the fact that her daughter's husband is a dentist.'."
Matt's face turned pink. "Ah. I see."
"Fair warning, we're going for her birthday, so don't be surprised if she winds up having a birthday dinner of some sort just so she can show you off."
Matt grinned. "That's fine. I can handle meeting your aunt's friends if it means I have her approval."
Y/N did a quick search for flights out of New York and pulled up the ones for Labor Day weekend. "Okay, here's one that leaves JFK at 4:30 Friday afternoon and arrives in Miami around 7:45…"
Matt nodded. "That's fine."
"For our return flight… afternoon okay? Leave at 11:30, back around 2:45? Or did you want to take a later flight?"
"No, morning is fine."
"Okay, one second…"
Y/N got their flights booked then shut her laptop. "Alright, that's all set."
She smiled. "Now I just need to meet Foggy and Karen and then all of the important introductions will be complete."
Matt gave her a soft kiss. "They're excited to meet you."
"I'm excited to meet them too."
Matt stretched. "I've got some stuff I need to do before court tomorrow, so I should probably head out, but I'll call you later?"
Y/N nodded. "Yeah, okay."
She stood and walked Matt over to the door. "Hey, if you happen to go out as Daredevil tonight… Be careful, okay?"
Matt nodded and gave her a soft kiss. "I will, I promise. Love you."
"Love you too."
Y/N let Matt out and locked the door behind him, then went to change out of her church clothes and into something more comfortable before settling into bed for a nap, already missing the feel of Matt's arms around her.

Neteyam x OC Na'vi
Aouthers note: Its a litte bit suggestive but not smut. I tried to not write this so angsty. BUT it has posesive neteyam!
✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧
Saying Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan was obsessed with you was an understatement.
I could feel Neteyam’s eyes staring right at you from behind. We had gone hunting or at least try. Neteyam made it very difficult to focus. I could feel his breath on my neck. For many years I've gotten a sense that Neteyam had taken interest in me. At first, it was just kind smiles but now he follows me like a lost pululukan pup. even though he swears he hates me.
 “Ma Neteyam please give me space. I cannot hunt with you breathing down my neck.” he backs up and sits down on the branch we stood on. I pull my arrow back, breathe in and shoot. A clean kill. I jump off the branch onto another until it’s a safe enough distance to let my feet hit the forest ground. I kneel down to the Hexapade. I start my prayer “Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo. Ngari hu Eywa salew tirea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì.” (I see you, brother, and I thank you. Your spirit will run with Eywa, while your body will remain and become part of the People.) I tie up the creature's feet together and put them on my back. “Ma Kalin I could have done better. '' Neteyam said, following me back to the village. “Neteyam don’t you have duties to tend to?” I scold
“But, I love hanging out with you,” he said sarcastically
“Duty first kä.” I point forward to signal him to leave. I watch him walk away into the crowd of men waiting for him. I walk towards the ‘emyu so they can prepare the meal for dinner tonight. As I'm walking I'm stopped by Kato. He looks down at me from his height and smiles.
“Do you need help there little lady?”
“Ma Kato I’m fine, leave me alone,” I say, rolling my eyes. At my age, it is very common for me to be looking for a mate. What I really want is to explore the forest and eat fruit. Men often tried to pursue my hand but I ignored them all. My father is Eyktanay one step down from
olo’eyktan . That means many men come to me trying to get a higher status.
“You should really loosen up Ma Kalin,” he says, throwing his hands in the air. I knew immediately that Neteyam was watching. I knew that he was very possessive of me even though we were not even promised to each other. I thought to myself maybe I should let him be mad. You knew it was stupid playing with him but, I also seemed so much fun. So I walk shoulder to shoulder with Kato and giggle at his unfunny jokes. We make it to the kitchen and part ways.
“This is a fine size Kalin.” one of the cook's compliments.
“Really Neteyams words made me feel like it was too small” I sigh, sitting down next to a fire that roasts teylu.
“Don't worry child, it's perfect now run along and be young. Kiri stopped by asking for you. You should pay her a visiting child.”
“Irayo”
I walk towards Kiri's muri one my way I pass the men tending to their Ikran. I see Neteyam and ignore him for Kato. From the corner of my eye, he's scowling as I walk by. I make it to the muri and enter. “Honey I’m home ” I called out to Kiri.
“I was hoping you’d get my word,” she said, motioning me to sit down. Kiri and I have been friends for many years now. Our friendship began when we were at the age of training. We bonded with our Ikran on the same day.
“So I heard you hunted with my brother this morning.” she giggled. Suggesting something much more.
“Kiri, I'm not interested in your brother,” I said. The thought of  Neteyam being my mate doesn't seem half bad. He’s a mighty warrior and a very skilled hunter. He was one of the youngest Na’vi in our clan to make a clean kill. On the other hand, if we were to ever give it a chance he would need to mature a lot more. Even after all that it would complicate things between our families, that is something I hold very dear to me.
“You never know Kalin. Daughter of  Eyktanay son of olo’eyktan. It's as if eywa herself is writing your love story.”
“Thanks but no thanks, Kiri. I have other plans.”
“Like what? dance around the forest naked and eat fruit.”
“Maybe I will Kiri. Maybe I’ll become the village crazy lady,” I say, slapping her shoulder. Thought that idea didn't sound so bad.
“I'd like to see that.” Neteyam chuckled. He towered above me. My Eywa he's easy on the eyes. I was taking him in looking up and down. I feel like hours have gone by of me gazing at him.
“Don't forget to blink Kalin.” he teased my Eywa he knew how to get on my nerves even if it were the tiniest thing. You turn around facing the fire. You closed your eyes seeing red and orange flash up and down. You got closer, feeling the warmth make your cheeks red. You felt something you haven't in weeks, inner peace. Like everything in this world, it must come to an end. I'm interrupted by Neteyam sitting behind me so that I'm now in between his legs. He set his head on my back.
“Kiri come here for a moment my sweet child” their mother yells outside of the muri. Leaving Neteyam and me all alone. I felt the coldness of his body. It feels so good but my words betray me.
“Neteyam get off. Your body is so cold,” I whine like a child. I don't know why I said that. I know we hate each other, but we have our cute moments sometimes. When we're alone I could call him a friend but nothing more. I quickly reminded myself why we hated each other. We were rivals. We competed in everything, Hunting, flying, and sometimes swimming.
“Whatever.” he rolled his eyes, getting up. I watched him walk toward the wall where he hung his knife. He brought it over to the fire for light and started sharpening it. I watched his muscles flex as he stoked the knife back and forth. My ears pull back as I hear someone call my name.
“Kalin! I thought I’d find you here.” I turn around to see Kato standing in the doorway. I push myself off the muri floor and walk towards him.
“What are you doing here?” I question.
“Your mom asked me to come to fetch you for dinner,” he explained. I hadn't noticed until now how empty my stomachache was. I set my hand on my stomach feeling its emptiness.
“Well, let us go Kato” I grab his hand and say my goodbyes.
~~~
I watch her walk away with that skxqwng. She knew what she was doing that woman drove me absolutely insane. As much as I hated her I loved her. All day she teased me pretending to not notice me or flirt with that skxqwng. I feel my teeth clench together and sharpen my knife more intensely.
“Bro if you sharpen that knife anymore the blade will become useless.” Lo’ak teased “I can see you are  jealous of Kato. Just go to her skxgwng.” he complained
“If it were that easy Lo’ak. She's so busy being in love with the forest she barely has time for me,” I said feeling defeated. I lay flat on the floor and spread my limbs wide.
“My big bro killer of sky people is scared of a small girl” he laughs into his hands. “I overheard her father talking to dad about how he's going to announce he will be excepting courtings for his daughter. If that makes you feel any better.” my heart melts into my body. I can finally have a chance with her. I hop up into my feet.
“Lo’ak comes, let's go to dinner.” I grab him by his hair dragging him. Not forgetting a small box holding a hand-crafted necklace.
~~~
I sit in front of the fire next to my father. On my other side is Kato. I finished my food a while ago, but mother said she had an announcement to make and wanted me to listen. I sat impatiently leaning my head on Kato’s shoulder. He tilts his head down to talk to me
“Your puppy is here.” he points to Netaym, practically dragging Lo’ak into the circle. He looks surprisingly happy, his braids swinging with every step.
“He’s not my puppy” I laughed, shoving myself off his shoulder. I feel a vibration through the ground. I turn around and see a drummer getting everybody ready for my father's speech
“The beloved people I have an announcement to make.” he shouts holding up a wooded cup of mead “I come before you to announce my daughter Kalin te ketsuktswa’ loran’ite will be available for a suiter. She has proven herself to the people now prove yourself to her,” he shouts as people cheer on drinking from his cup. I cannot believe them. I can't believe they would announce my availability to everybody and not consider even talking to me about it. As I'm sitting there is a wave of Na’vi men flocking to my father asking for his permission to pursue me. I look at them annoyed, they wouldn’t even see the light of day.
“Did you know about this ma Kato?” I point at his chest not wanting to look him in the eyes. I feel nothing but rage. Why wouldn't he warm me? Did he not tell me to get his own advantage in pursuing my heart? I stand up and turn around quickly I hit a hard chest with my forehead. I step back thinking to myself “damn”. I look up and see Neteyam, you broke eye contact for just a second, but his left index finger lifted your chin up, making me meet his gaze again.
“Where you going my sweet girl?” he chuckles oh my Ewya I turned a bright red.
“It is getting quite loud and I'm tired I was about to walk home” I blush looking to the right. He took my hand but someone else grabs my other.
“I was just about to walk her home,” Kato said through his teeth. His grip was tight. His face seems unbothered though.
“Well, I got it from here buddy.” Neteyam passive aggressively said shoving the Na’vi in the chest with one hand. Neteyam then intertwines our fingers and starts walking into the forest where his personal muri hangs.
“Ma Neteyam this isn't the way to my muri,” I shout, he ignores me and continues to take me deeper into the forest. “Ma Neteyam why are you taking me to your muri?’
“Will you just come? I just want to hang out with you, if you do I’ll give you a reward sweet girl,” he shouts as he climbs the tree holding up his home. He makes it look so easy. I struggle to climb up the vines in such darkness. I got to the entrance and he holds out his hand that I gladly take. I walk past him into his spacious room. Neteyam watches my every move, licking his lips.
“So what did you want to give me?” I questioned tilting my head and giving him softer eyes. I knew exactly what I was doing. I was going to drive him crazy. Now that I can be courted, lots of men want what's ‘his’.
“I had kiri make you this” he hands me a beautifully crafted necklace. It was made from clear crystals with a deep blue hue. Never has anyone gifted me anything as beautiful as this.
“Ma Neteyam it is beautiful,” I say giving him the necklace back and turning around signaling him to put it on. I pull my hair to the side and he brings the necklace in front of me to clasp it. He brings his face closer to my neck. He grabs my waist from behind bringing me closer. I tilt my head back giving him more room to scent me.
“Im going to do some really bad things to you ma Neteyam,” I said gasping for air, it's all going to plan.
“Yeah? What are you gonna do to me sweet girl?” he chuckles into my ear. His voice vibrates into my ear and straight between my legs.
“I'm going to drive you crazy ma Neteyam.” “Oh? But you already have my sweet girl” with that he leads me to his hammock. He lays down putting his hands behind his head. “Come sit.” he takes one hand to pat his hip. I get into the hammock straddling him. “Atta girl” he chuckles, suddenly feeling more heat within I lay flat on his chest wrapping my arms under his back. He pets my head till I inevitably fall asleep.
~~~
I woke up before the sun had risen. Neteyams hands were wrapped around my waist tightly. I pry myself out of his grip. I turn around, saying goodbye with a kiss on the forehead not wanting to wake him. I make my way down the tree as I'm walking to the village I hear a twig snap. Startled I turn around, but I see nothing. Scared I run back into the village. “Ma Kalin where were you last night!? I was worried sick!” I look forward to seeing my mother. I walk closer so that she can hear me properly. “Umm…I was with Neteyam sa’un.” I say looking down at the forest floor not wanting to make eye contact. A fiery heat forms in my throat as she opens her would to say her next words. “Did anything happen my child?” she smirks
“Ew, mom he's just a friend. I don't want to talk to you about this. Plus nothing happened, he just had a gift for me.” I place my hand on the beautiful necklace. She stands in front of me now examining it. “My child these stones are extremely rare I've seen nothing like these. Neteyam must be interested in you. He’ll make a fine mate my child.”
“Sa’un can we not talk about this,” I whine dropping my shoulders. My mother always pressured me to find a mate. She told me ‘it is better to start early and have much history’ or whatever that means. “If we must my child. I was looking for you because Kiri calls for you.” she shoos me away in the direction of her muri. As I’m walking I hear heavier footsteps, I turn the face of the na’vi behind me. It's Kato, he looks tired and out of breath. “Why must you always be around me when you are unwanted ma Kato.” I sigh into my hands. “I was taking a walk with someone and see you leave Neteyams muri. Don't tell you mated with that guy ma Kalin.” he seemed genuinely concerned I expected him to be jealous. “I didn't mate with him ma Kato.” why is everybody asking me this oh my Eywa? I try to walk faster but he's always there.
As I make it to the muri I hear kiri rummaging through some baskets. “Ma Kiri I’m home,” I yell extending my arms out for a hug. We hug and she grabs my shoulders looking into my eyes. “You’ve been somewhere deep into the forest.” she sniffs my hair and then moves to my hand “With my brother EW!” she rolls her eyes as she always does. “You know what happens when two na’vi are all alone in the forest” Lo’ak jokingly says getting out of his hammock. “What is it pick on Kalin day!?” I cry throwing my hands up in defeat. I lay down sprawled out on the floor feeling the vibrations of the forest. “Lo’ak come were going hunting.” I hear nonother then than Kato himself. Though he's not calling for me so I don't bother moving from my position. Everybody leaves including Kiri now I'm really left alone. My thoughts have become much too loud for my own liking. My eyes close and everything goes dark.
~~~
I woke up and she was gone. I secretly watch her walk out the door My heart yearns for her. I wish that she would just give in, I need her like the air I breathe. I needed a way to push her into my arms. I know she likes it when I chase, but I feel like we've been running to nowhere. With that, I jump out of my bed and start the fire to heat up my morning tea. I walk to the entrance of my muri I fetch fire but and startled to see a young Na’vi woman. It is Norlor, my ex-girlfriend. We broke up months ago so why was she here?
“Ma Norlor what are you doing here you shouldn’t be here. Go leave now!” I shout pointing towards the forest. She ignores me and sits on a table by the fire. My mind starts to wonder why is she acting like this.
“Ma neteyam you look so handsome. Roumar has it that you're wanting to mate with Kalin. Is this true?” she asks tilting her head.
“Yes, this is true what does it matter to you?” I question frustrated, she lifts herself off the table and walks closer to me. She stops inches away from my face.
“You're gonna help me get Kato.” she grabs my face. “He's paying too much attention to your little girlfriend and I want it to stop.” she spits fire from her mouth.
“Now what should I do that?” I say grabbing her arm and leading her to the doorway. I wanted her out if anybody saw me with her again it could spread. The last thing I want is for Kalin to hear I was with another girl after last night.
“Just think about it Neteyam. I hear Kalin can be very jealous. We all know she's interested in you.” she shrugs knowing she was right “she just needs the right push. Come with us to hunt tonight. Flirt with me at dinner, complement the size to pray I catch, and give me slight innocent touches.” she says getting quiet and quieter as she climbs down the tree holding my muri. I go back inside pouring hot water into a wooden mug. This plan might actually work it's crazy of me to do, but anything for my girl.
~~~
The sound of people singing and hooves woke me from my slumber. You shot up, bringing your knees to your chest, hugging them. I look around to find anybody but, nothing. I push myself up from where I lay for apparently many hours. I walk outside to find myself standing in the night sky. I thought about Neteyam and his bioluminescent freckles. I wonder where he is? I climb down from the tree and land on the soft grass. Making my way to the nightly feast the nose gets louder and louder. I search for kiri in the crowd of many na’vi.
“Ma Kalin over here!” she says waving her hands in the air. A smile forms on my face as I make my way to her. I can feel many eyes of na’vi men looking at me some even point.
“Why didn’t you wake me ma Kiri?”
“You looked at peace.” she was right, a light reflecting off of something caught my eye. I turn my head to see Neteyam walking with his ex-girlfriend. My Neteyam walked with her laughing. The conversation was obviously very amusing because she slaps his chest with her hand. I knew what that meant I was also one who used that flirting tactic. She wanted what was mine. I was not about to let that happen. I stand up and walk over to Kato. he was sitting around other men telling stories about the hunting trip.
“Ma Kato will you come to sit by me?” it wasn't a question. The look that I gave him he knew. As I lend out a hand to help him up his friends speak.
“Go get it, Ma Kato”
“That's my boy”
“You better watch out for neteyam hell skin you alive.”
I bring him to where I was sitting though Kiri had run off somewhere, probably into the forest.
“Is there a reason why you brought my over here little lady?” he chuckles placing his elbows on his knees. “Get your girl,” I say angrily pointing and Neteyam and his ex. “I'm with her right now, what are you talking about?” god he's so annoying.
I sigh and coldly say “Look Kato I’m going, to be honest with you we will never be. I don’t even want to mate with anybody, but if it's anyone it's him.”
“I know but it was worth a try. Why do you think Neteyam is with her? That guy just wants everything I want.”
“Go get her, tell her how you feel ma, Kato. Shell never know if you don't speak it into existence.” I should really take my own advice. These past few months Neteyam has not once left my mind. After last night how could I not be in love with him? He showed me the softness I so crave. Being a huntress most na’vi treat you very toughly. My thoughts are interrupted by Kato stomping over to Norlor. I watch him grab her wrist leading her to a pa’li. My attention is brought back to where the girl once sat. instead of his eyes, it’s Neteyams eyes that I meet. Still angry with him I glair. I point at him then and me lastly at the forest. I get up from where I sat and walked into the brush where we could be in privacy. Not long after Neteyam appears from out of the leaves. Before he can say anything I bring my palm up to his shoulder and shove him.
Then I snapped “Why were you with that girl ma Neteyam?” “I thought you guys broke up?”
“She just wanted tips on hunting is that so wrong?” he was dodging my question, I don't have time for his crazy games. I walk past him making sure my shoulder bumps into him. Before I know it he grabs my arm and shoves my back into a tree. He has me trapped. My eyes don't dare to look into his eyes, but his right index finger lifted your chin up, making you meet his gaze.
“Is my sweet girl jealous?” he taunts
“No! I'm just concerned for you Ma Neteyam. It's almost like you've gone crazy” I spit crossing my arms a little tiger than usual.
“Kalin cut the shit” he shouts “I've tried everything to get your attention what am I doing wrong?” he shouted maybe loud enough for other people to hear. I knew he didn't care Neteyam was a very passionate man. I gulped not wanting to use the wrong words. I knew I needed to tell the truth.
“I'm scared Neteyam…” his eyes soften grabbing onto my cheeks “if we give a relationship a try what happens if it doesn't work out? Everything I care for changes. My friends, my family, and my forest will all be different.” I now cry. Neteyam now inching in even closer to me  “ oh Ma Kalin, you don't have to worry about that. That will never happen. Just give us a chance.” he smiles making my heart flutter. I look up into his amber eyes and grab his cheek pulling him closer to break the distance. I kiss was exchanged
“Is this okay, sweet girl?” he kindly asks “yes.” all I say leading him to suck your lips nibbling just a bit, he places his arms around your hips and pulled you close.
“Take me back to your muri Ma Neteyam…” I whisper in his ear, although it was more of a moan.
Daily Devotionals for September 6, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 24:9 (KJV): 9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. Proverbs 24:9 (AMP): 9 The plans of the foolish and the thought of foolishness are sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to men.
Thought for the Day
The word foolishness carries the meaning of trusting in one's own heart and mind. Planning our way and leaving God out of those plans, is foolish. The Bible tells us to trust in the Lord and not to rely on our understanding: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil" (Proverbs 3:5-7).
Because only God is "all-knowing," He alone can lead us in the right pathway. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). The Lord tells us that His thoughts are higher than ours. That is why we need to allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds from conformity to the world and allow the mind of Christ to dwell in us. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:2). "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). As our thoughts become holy and righteous, we will be able to reject carnal thinking, to cast down imaginations and any high thing that exalts itself against God and bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). We must ask God to cleanse our thought lives to root out sin.
When the devil attempts to get us to believe a lie, we must, in faith, quote scripture that will offset and overcome that lie. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Submission to God is a heart attitude, and it is revealed by obedience to His Word. To "resist the devil" means to refuse to cooperate with him. "Walking in the Spirit" means that we live in a state of prayer and obedience to the Holy Spirit. This is not much different from walking with a friend. We become friends with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. We come to know Him through reading the Word and praying. God provided a way for us to be victorious, even when we fail and yield to temptation. We simply need to repent, confess our sins, and get back on the right track with Jesus; not allowing Satan to keep us away from God.
We must also guard against becoming a scoffer. This attitude will alienate us from other people. Nobody wants to be around someone continually railing against and mocking others. People who mock sacred principles and responsibilities are an abomination to God and insulting to others.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your patience and love toward me. I have failed You many times, but You have never failed me. Lord, purify my thoughts so that they will be pleasing to You. May Your Words dwell in my heart and mind so that I will not sin against You. Lord, may I think loving and kind thoughts toward others and may I never be a scoffer and one who demeans others. Deliver me from all foolish thoughts and give me the mind of Christ, so that I am a good witness for You in this world. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Wednesday, September 6, 2023
Cocooned
“This was not what you promised me. This was not the plan; I trusted you.“ These were the exact words a friend of mine had penned to God in one of his many letters to Him. I can only imagine how miserable he must have been at the time he wrote that letter.
He would later share with me how he, at some point, had an identity crisis because nothing was adding up. He could not understand how this loving and kind Father in whom he had so much faith would leave him hanging after taking him that far.
Life is too complex for us to do it alone, unaided without a guide. We should make enquiring for direction and guidance for the next step from God a lifestyle. He knows the way. He is and will always be faithful to direct us. The Bible records that He has good and perfect plans for us, to bring us to an expected end. This doesn’t mean that we won’t have to journey through storms, but that in those moments, He will wrap us in a cocoon of past testimonies and a protective embrace while clearing a path to safety for us.
We are fickle and easily forget how faithful God has been to us over time. We forget His great deliverances from both the small and seemingly big things. We forget the divine hugs that comforted us and the joy that were gifted us. We forget the healing and the laughter He birthed in us.. But fortunate is the man who is able to recall and keep close to his heart the many blessings God has bestowed on him. In his dark days, he will be comforted and strengthened in his spirit.
It is difficult to see or grasp what the storm is about, but would you dare to trust God that He will calm this storm because He has done it before and He will yet calm this one? The storm will cease, your joy will be complete and you will bask in experiential knowledge of how faithful God has been to you.
 Prayer
Dear God,
I thank you for your faithfulness and all the testimonies you’ve showered upon me even in the storm.
In Jesus' Name!
Amen.
Hello Sister, I'm the anon who keeps asking if you could pray for my education. Something unfortunate happened that made me miss my exam, but it was due to me being lazy and not double checking. I don't know if they will allow me to redo it. I am going to enter my second semester, I want feel motivated to study. I have been feeling numb for years, and it's been months since I prayed to God. I don't know how to go back to Him. I wish I had a Catholic or Christian friends so we can talk about this. I just feel lost, numb, and apathetic. If you can dear Sister, please pray for me. I want to be good and righteous. If God gave you message in my prayer request, can you please tell me what it is. I desperately need the Holy Spirit in my deeply sinful life. Thank you for listening Sister, God bless you
--Sister M
Hi Sister M,
I will pray for you! I can tell you that no matter what happens, no matter how much you fail in life or sin, God isn’t going to abandon you and stop loving you. He’s not hiding in a secret place until you get your life in order. God is with you, always. As like the Prodigal Son, God waits until you turn to Him so He can spread His loving arms out to bring you home. You don’t need to be perfect in order to go back to Him. A simple prayer is all you need to start. Speak to Him as you would a dear friend. He loves you more than you can ever imagine and He waits so patiently for you. If you are Catholic, remember the Sacrament of confession is always there for you and is a great blessing.
I suggest as a student, to keep a picture of the Holy Family with you. It can be a bookmark or even your phone lock screen, or a little picture to carry around in your wallet. Whenever you feel tempted to sin, take the picture out. To flood our human senses with holy things can help us out of temptation.
Other examples to “flood the senses” are, listening to soft Gregorian chant with your headphones, taste the consecrated Eucharist and wine at Mass, read one verse from the Bible, smell beautiful incense or a scented candle, touch beads of the Rosary or pages of your favorite Bible, read about the lives of the saints, and forms of prayer. The Mass is the highest form of prayer. The Rosary is a powerful prayer that has even converted a high Satanic priest; it helps focus our mind away from sin and onto the lives of Jesus with His mother, Mary. The Divine Mercy Chaplet kept the world from being destroyed by the wrath of an Angel. Blessed bells by Catholic priests have been excellent during exorcisms to expel demons because of their beauty and holy sounds. There is also Relevant Radio to listen to 24/7. EWTN is great for watching shows, masses, prayers.. highly recommend Mother Angelica Live if you’ve never seen it. Bishop Robert Barron with his Word On Fire is great to jump into on his website or binge watch on YouTube. Volunteering at your local church can be a great benefit for all.
Some teachers are kind enough for second chances, other ones are more strict. All you can do is ask. They may surprise you, offer you a different option, or make you learn the hard way. Pray for them, okay?
The Holy Spirit lives in you and He will help guide you. Your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. Remember this. Take care of your body, especially going through the stresses of student life. Eat healthy, exercise, drink water, treat your body kindly with respect. What you carry is a special gift, even in your bad days.
For motivation, look to the saints. Each one lived a unique kind of life that they lived to get to Heaven. Some were students too. You may be able to find a favorite saint or two to model after. Don’t forget your guardian angel. They never leave your side and are waiting for you to pray to ask for their help. He can guide you too and help you, especially when friends are not available. You can be good and righteous.
“But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
- Isaiah 43:1
6/7/2022 DAB Chronological Transcription
Proverbs 13 - 15
Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible Chronological, I'm China. Today is the 7th day of June. So great to be here with you guys today. What an honor is to get to read the word of the Lord, to end with you. And the birds are chirping. I mean, what a beautiful time to gather around today. We are in the Book of Proverbs. We are in chapters 13 through 15. And we are continuing with the English Standard Version for this week.
Commentary
Man, there's so much goodness in today's scripture. It feels so rich and it just feels I just am, like, speechless, honestly. And in this place of gratitude that we have wisdom available to us. It's not that the Lord is asking something of us and he's like, I'm asking this of you, but you have to figure out how to do it. If anything, he's shown us what the Kingdom looks like on Earth as it is in heaven. By sending us His Son for a way to be reconciled back to the Father, we saw Jesus, we will see Jesus life in the fall, unfortunately due to reading chronological, but we will see the perfect life of Jesus, the perfect lamb that was slain for us, for our behalf. And we can see the day to day of Jesus. And really all of these things that we read about coming to pass. And so it's not that we're without a teacher. It's not that we're without a counselor or without guidance or wisdom. We have the Holy Spirit who comforts. We have wisdom who guides and instructs. So I just encourage you to go back and reread this and just slowly meditate on it. Even in the very beginning of today's scripture, I was like, oh, my gosh, I just want to pause right here. It's so good. Were it's just talking about the fruit of his mouth. A man eats when is good, but the desire of the torturous is for violence. Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. Like that in itself is like, okay, work has to be done there. I have to put in some effort there, right? It's saying we need to be aware of what's going out of our mouths. And I believe it's also in Proverbs where it talks about the power of life or death is within the tongue. And if we had a grasp of that, if we had that truly in our brains whenever tension was arising or conflict, or even inner dialogue with ourselves, if we were just to be aware that we hold that power and just having Scripture readily available in our mind that we've meditated on, that is in context and the Lord has revealed to us and that we continue to recite over and over again, not only will be able to apply that as like a balm to our hearts, but we'll be able to readily give it to others appropriately, in their time of need as well.
Prayer
Father, I just thank you for your word. I thank you for the beauty of your word, the pure poetry that Proverbs seems to truly be. And Lord, I pray that we would desire wisdom. We would desire righteousness and goodness for all of our days. And Lord, I pray that we would have clean hands and clean and pure hearts. And when would you renew us today and every day. And it's in Your name we pray, amen.
Community Prayer Line
Hi DABC, this is Tanya calling in from Suffolk, Virginia. I want to pray for the young lady from Illinois in regards to some of her family, friends that has recently developed, covid again, and one of her friends that have heart issues. And I also want to pray for the young lady in reference to her husband. I believe that has kind of straight away from the lower and how it has affected their family as well. Dear Heavenly Father, even with the family stand in need of Father, I just ask, Lord, that you just be there in their time of need, be that support for them. Lord, bring people into their lives that. They can connect with that will continue to uplift and encourage them. Father, I'm asking that you just strengthen right now. In the mighty name of Jesus, I find that devil. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Good afternoon. D-A-B-C. Family, this is under construction and I just wanted to ask for your guys'prayers. I feel like every time I call in it's always to ask for something. I apologize, but I do actually want to address something too really quick. There was a lady who called in one day about shoulder pain and she was saying that there's people that have so much bigger things going on. I just hope everybody out there knows no matter how big or small or whatever it may be, there are times that I just pray for the whole DAB, DABC family in general and everybody's needs of who calls and doesn't call in regardless. That's really what we're all here for to support each other. But anyways, what I am meaning. So my other half and I have had a pretty Rocky relationship and at one point I thought he was going to leave me, but he asked me the other day if I wanted to move with him out of state. And more than anything I want to say yes, I want us to have a good relationship. I want us to be in love. I want us to be happy. I want us to be able to get through the arguments and the ups and downs together. And I just pray that I know that it's in God's hands, but what God Wills will come together. I really want this. But if it's not what God wants, then I want him to be able to leave without me. Thank you.
Praise God. D-A-B-C family. This is Velma from the Virginia side of the DMV. Today is May 26. And thank you. Thank you, Lord, for China. Thank you for the reading of Psalm 139. Where can we go that you're not there? Nowhere. Nowhere. You're everywhere, Lord. So today I heard prayers from Rodney from Atlanta. He led us in this beautiful prayer asking us to pray and lift up the people of Buffalo from that tragedy. And then we heard from the Refined by the fire, praying for the children for the summer. And as they were praying and as I'm reflecting about Psalm 139, I just want to give God praise. He's everywhere in every situation. And Lord, I just want to pray today because here we are again in the midst of another tragedy, these babies in Texas where a gunman went in and killed these babies and their teachers. So, Lord, I lift them up today. I asked, Lord to comfort them as they go through burying their children and. The teacher who threw herself over these babies to protect them. I asked you, Lord, to comfort her family. Lord, let's lift up these children. Let's lift up these families. Father, we love you. We praise you, Lord. And let us remember even in our darkest hours, there's nowhere we can go that you're not there. I lift all of these prayers up in the name of Jesus.
Hi, this is Victoria Soldier calling to pray for some of the DABbers. I want to pray for Rodney Kamellis, Atlanta. I want to pray for Refined by the Fire. She prayed for students and teachers and parents are going through in the school. I want to pray for them and the family of those who lost their precious love's in those shooting. We want to pray for Laurie, Samantha and her brother. I want to pray for Tanya and I want to pray for Kingdom seekers precious wife and just that to keep up with her strength and those who have gone through the loss of their loved ones and going through anxieties and depression and dealing with strongholds gracious. Father, we just lift you up and thank you because, God, you're a God that can do anything. But there you are, mighty God. You are mighty, an awesome God. You're a merciful God. You are God. That is amazing. There is nothing that you are unable to do. We just ask that you touch those names that we call and those names we may not have called and don't remember. Lord, or didn't get to let them know that we love them because maybe they didn't call it. But we asked you, Lord, before they even asked Lord that you begin to hear that you give them life in favor that you bless them that you heal you lift that anxiety, Lord you take away that stronghold, Father in the name of Jesus and Lord will give you the glory we continue to bless jail in China in a mighty special way continue to have your way in China's life and bless our little precious girl and their marriage for them and we actually can be in the midst of every marriage, Lord because you stand in your work who you put together let no man put us under we action for strength in the marriage strength like never before. We actually to have your way, Father we actually to open doors we actually bring together in a mighty special way give them joy in their marriage and in their home and bless their children, Lord to bring our young people back home and strengthen them, Lord knowing that you are the way the truth and the life and Lord will give you the glory in the honor and the praise in Jesus name Amen.
Christians: "The Most…" – Part 2
"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." (Theodore Roosevelt)
In continuing our series from yesterday, today we will see another area where Christians should strive to excel in. This is not to say that it will be an easy task, but we ought to be aware of and practice these areas daily.
In addition to being the most generous, Christians should also be the most understanding and compassionate. We are to be imitators of Jesus Christ and be compassionate towards others without judgement. Jesus continuously spoke of this in Scripture, and we would be wise to adhere to His Word. The Bible says, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."1 In our broken world today, I can't emphasize enough how important and needed this is. We may think differently than others, but that does not mean we cannot be kind and patient, just as Jesus is patient towards us when we make mistakes or stray from his will. His Word says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort we ourselves receive from God."2
Jesus understands and can relate to us, as he experienced many of the things that we experience. Jesus wept, suffered pain, he was tempted, experienced poverty, loneliness, and rejection among other things. When we fall short, he looks on us with eyes of compassion. When the woman caught in adultery was brought before Jesus, everyone was determined to stone her to death. And although the Pharisees were using this as a way to trap Jesus and use this against Him, His answer and act of compassion on this woman was what brought her to a place of forgiveness.3 When we suffer or experience difficult seasons in life, Jesus understands and comforts us. In the same way, we are to look on others with compassion and understanding. We never know who God is going to bring to Himself through the compassion we demonstrate towards them.
Suggested prayer: Dear God, thank you for your understanding and compassion towards me. I fail often and fall short of your glory, but you surround me with your grace and bring me to a place of renewed intimacy with you. I pray that you would give me a heart that overflows with compassion towards others. That I would be a listening ear without judgement. Our would needs you and I ask that you help me be your presence amongst those I encounter daily. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus' name, amen.1. Colossians 3:12. 2. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. 3. John 8:1-11.
Quiet Time 2/10
What am I feeling today?
I don’t believe this is numbness anymore but peace. I feel that I’ve gotten a lot of my chest but it’s always good to continually be talking to God. I feel good though, I feel calm, I feel content. This is nice. I’m not sure how long it’ll last but it’s a nice change of pace. Although, there is the underlying stress of what I have coming up next week but I’m trying not to focus on that.
Psalms 63 NIV
(v. 6, 8) “On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night… I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.”
‭I used to not like David, I used to see him as unforgivable. But as I’ve gone on this journey, I find that I relate most to the psalms. I relate a lot too David. He was human. He loved God, but he made mistakes and he struggled at times but always came back to Him. Anyways, most every night I think about God and talk to Him, I want to cling to Him because who else will bring me peace?
Psalms 141 NIV
(v. 3-4) “Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.”
‭‭Lately, I’ve struggled a bit with purity in my speech. I felt myself falling back into old habits and sayings and that’s not what God wants of me. So I ask the same as David, that the Lord set a guard over my mouth, that nothing unclean will leave my lips. That everything I say may be honoring to Him. I don’t want to be drawn back to my part because I’ve left it behind. It’s dead to me and I’d like for it to remain that way.
(v. 8-10) “But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.”
‭‭I don’t want to fall into the same traps of the past and new ones that may arise. God I pray that you give me discernment and that you protect me. That I may be guided by your word and will and I will not stumble.
Isaiah 43:18 NIV
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
‭‭I’m trying to keep this in mind still. Sometimes I’m tempted to reminisce on my past with a guy I like. I’ve tried not to think about him though, I don’t look back at photos or videos because what’s the point? That’s the past. We are no longer friends and looking back at what we will just hurt me and I don’t want any bitterness towards him. I want everything to be amicable and kind even if things didn’t work out the way I expected.
Also, last night, I dreamt about my ex boyfriend. I hadn’t thought about him in a while but dreaming with him there. I missed him. I missed having him in my life. I miss talking to him. I miss the connection we had. He was so sweet, kind, funny. It’s a bit hard letting go of the past, letting go of what once was. I always used to refer to him as right person, wrong time. But I know that’s not the case. He’s not who I’m meant to be with. My heart will always ache a little but that’s just evidence that I once loved. I’m in the present now though, and we are instructed not to dwell on the past.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for another day of life and for a peaceful one at that! I got to sleep in! I get to relax for a couple hours! This is so lovely and a great reward for what I went through this week.
I don’t really have much on my heart to say to you. I feel good. I feel peaceful. I have that feeling that I used to get in the old house right before covid hour and I was happy and content with all that my life was amounting to. It’s almost nostalgic and I thank you for it. I pray that I’m able to start feeling this way at least throughout the rest of today.
I pray that you can forgive me of the sins that I’ve committed lately. Of my impure language and thoughts. Of some of my anger and quick frustration. We’re supposed to react and respond kindly and I didn’t always live up to that.
God I pray for the church. I pray for all the Bible studies that we have going on. I pray that our campus ministry is very fruitful, especially after the club day! I pray for the Bible study that I will be in later today. That she accepts your word joyfully and commits to seeking you. I pray for the valentines event, that my brother and I can have some fun and great fellowship as well.
God I want to continue praying for my heart. It was bitter and numb earlier and I pray that you continue to soften it and allow me remain constant in your word and your love God.
I love you dearly and I pray this in Jesus name,
Amén.
My dearest Skippy, Julie here. I can not even fathom for a moment how you could ever think you were boring or people were being quiet because they were no longer interested in coming here. I love coming here and it’s a most important of my life. My little bit of happiness in a terribly distressing period for our world. I have been coming here since you used to comment on JD. I love your site.
I don’t comment or contribute as much as I used to because I don’t have Tumblr and the system changed so I can no longer just send off a quick comment under the Ask Skippy banner.
However, I am here every day, even when I’m on holidays. I love the peace and calmness the religious postings provide to me and I have learned so much I didn’t know or had forgotten which I am immensely and will be eternally grateful for.
So Skip, boring is not a word I would use for you or your site. Without you and Mr Skip life would have a big hole for not only me (I’m being selfish I know) but for the many many friends we all feel we have made since you brought us all together. People do come and go but many don’t actually leave just maybe think they have nothing to contribute today but rest assured they are still here and would feel lost without you.
The prayer list will for some people be the daily reminder to say their prayers and as we all age every little reminder to bring us closer to God is absolutely welcome. Prayers for others is a wonderful human behaviour we should all embrace as often as we can.
Skip, never boring and I am so sorry you thought that. Rest assured the time you devote to us, and we know you do devote a lot of your time to keeping your site up and going is much appreciated. We are very proud of you.
Oh my dear Julie!  Thank YOU so much.  I do treasure the fact that from the very beginning you have stayed with me….you have helped me through many dark times.  The beginning was so hard.  You never gave up on me!  I will always appreciate that.  Your thoughtful, kind words always warm my heart.  I love you, and treasure our friendship.  Thank YOU Julie. Sending love and hugs!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JULY 27, 2023
Close to God
By Patricia Pace (Georgia, USA)
READ PSALM 100:1-5
"Come near to God, and [God] will come near to you."
JAMES 4:8 (CEB)
"For a couple of years now, our seven-year-old grandson has come to spend a week of his summer vacation with us. We are excited when he comes to visit because we get to have some quality, one-on-one time with him. We get to know him on a more personal level than we would when all of our eight grandchildren gather around us. During his last stay, we learned many new things about him: He loves grits with cheese; he doesn’t like butter on his waffle, only syrup; he eats his dessert first; he has lost interest in dinosaurs and monster trucks and is now into baseball; he doesn’t say his prayers aloud, but he says them in his head.
What new things could we discover about God if we took the time each day to focus solely on God? What kind of meaningful relationship could we develop if we gave God quality time? We might actually get to know God instead of just knowing about God. God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each of us. Time spent in talking and listening to God as well as reading and studying scripture draws us closer every day." Get personal with God. Get to know Him and allow Him to know you much better. It's key to any close relationship that comes into your life.
TODAY'S PRAYER
"Dear God, we hunger to know you. Thank you for the opportunities you provide us each day to be close to you." Amen.
Psalm 100:1-5
"1 Shout triumphantly to the LORD, all the earth! 2 Serve the LORD with celebration! Come before him with shouts of joy! 3 Know that the LORD is God he made us; we belong to him. We are his people, the sheep of his own pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanks; enter his courtyards with praise! Thank him! Bless his name! 5 Because the LORD is good, his loyal love lasts forever; his faithfulness lasts generation after generation." He will remain with you forever. You are definitely part of His people. He depends on you, thus do not let Him down. Bless those who love their Lord God. Joe
A Hot Cup of Coffee with a Friend
Today's inspiration comes from:
Devotions from the Front Porch
by Stacy Edwards
"And they sat with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his suffering was very great. " — Job 2:13 ESV
"When someone is hurting or struggling, it’s natural to want to lend a hand.
Church folks are great at organizing help in all sorts of ways. Are you having a baby? Is someone in your family ill? Just let the ladies in your church know, and within no time they will have a lasagna and some lemon bars delivered to your door. People will mow your lawn, bring you groceries, and watch your children. We are a society of doers, which can be a good thing. However, there are times when even the most sincere offering cannot make the situation better.
Sometimes hurting people just need your presence.
Oftentimes nothing can be done, and the best way to help is to just be present. For all that Job’s friends may have done wrong, they got this part right. When they heard of all the tragedies Job had endured, they decided to show up. They couldn’t fix anything, and they didn’t presume to know how he felt. They simply sat with him in silence.
Sometimes hurting people just need your presence, to sit and drink a cup of coffee with no words spoken.
Sometimes all people need is a moment when they’re not obligated to share all the details and you’re not pressured to offer advice. When there’s nothing to be said, don’t say a thing. A chance to breathe and a friend’s presence can be two of the most healing things.
Lord, help me learn the ministry of simply being present in someone’s pain. Teach me to put aside my own discomfort or need to fix things and simply offer silence and coffee."'
