Dairen's the only child of two not wealthy parents, but his stepfather was pretty wealthy (none of Darien's own wealth comes from him tho, 'cause ew..) his mom remarried when he was pretty young, so he has a stepbrother and a half-sister but he doesn't speak to any of them and his dad died a while ago.. I bet you can guess whose idea going to boarding school was? 🙈
I don't really think he misses Artie n' co. but I think he still feels a bit lost, he hasn't really moved on or done anything exciting since it all went to shit.
He misses feeling like he belonged more than anything, a little bit like Bruno, whom he got on pretty well with btw.. especially when Wyatt wasn't around 😅 he kinda liked Kaden too, but mostly because he was resourceful and sensible, tho he was still rather wary of him! He was never keen on Kian, and I still love his backchat to him in this scene because it pretty much defines their relationship, even though we rarely saw em together lmaooo..
Hmmmm.. what does he think of "new" Wyatt? He's not really sure tbh, he only got to spend like a day with him! He could tell smth had shifted but he didn't really get a chance to pick it apart, I'm sure he wonders what changed, and how! I reckon he quite likes Brynn, though he definitely thinks she's a bit daft, then again, he thinks a lot of people are 😆 overall, he's a bit like ????? abt the whole thing lmao
What does he do for fun!? WORK! Duh.. but I guess he kinda likes cooking sometimes, and if he ever feels burnt out (which is super rare) he likes to binge watch TV series in the dark and eat a fuck tonne of sweeties 😌 I can see his faves being shit like The Wire, or mindfucky films like Tenet!
Honestly, he doesn't have many hobbies or many friends, he's spent his entire life with his nose in his laptop, which he likes.. but I still think he's a bit lonely/directionless these days...
We'll definitely see more of him in the future though, so who knows what'll change?!

I fully agree with your rant. I'm honestly so confused as to why more people aren't talking about it. Like hello they are going abroad?? That's huge (as you said smth SK hasn't done a lot and only for cons)!!
And like at first I was like because it is not a new project? But then I realised that there is in fact a new project so I really don't understand what's happening here.
I'm praying the streams will help and that we get to 25% by tmr because if this all doesn't happen it would be so devastating and I doubt they would ever try to do smth so huge ever again...

I know SK have been looking into international shows too and I know it is expensive and complex but frankly with the resources they have they COULD have done it by now. If they announced a similar kickstarter right now I don’t doubt it would get funded so fast. It is amazing that TCB are planning to do it but it requires 👏 money 👏
I also briefly wondered if part of it is that there isn’t one specific project to focus on and build the hype around but, starkid have done kickstarters funding multiple projects at once too! And this way, there should be something for everyone!!! Familiar projects, new projects, shows in LA, shows in other parts of the world
We HAVE to get to 25% by tomorrow, especially because yes that puts us on track going by 25% each week for four weeks, but there will be people who’ve already maxed out what they can give so we’ll be relying on reaching new backers
And exactly as you say, this won’t be a case of ‘we didn’t reach it so we’ll try again next year’, they’ve already dedicated a whole year to planning this campaign and invested money into it that they will lose if we don’t reach this goal. If it doesn’t happen now, they won’t take a risk like this again

about my art process, maybe I’ll post something later about it in form of timelapse or screenshots, not sure is there something interesting and special tho
about any tips for using procreate:
I remember my first impression of procreate was like “it’s too difficult, why are so many functions hidden behind a few clicks of different buttons”, so as a tip for beginning I would recommend learning all the functions through your own practice and use, purely experiment with different buttons, effects, etc. over time, you get used to it and the work becomes much faster and more comfortable
experiment with all the brushes available in the program, and if there is a feeling that nothing fits, then there are a lot of custom brush sets that can be downloaded for free from various resources. personally, I liked the downloaded sets more than the default brushes, and this affects the drawing process very much :D
sorting your gallery by folders is also very useful for active work in this program
the lasso tool can become a very good friend at work if you adapt to use it, especially at the paint stage
maybe I’ll add smth later on, but this is the first things that came to my mind rn

ok unrelated to anything but playing fnv w anteros lately got me thinking
i think a fallout AU could totally work….i feel like in the context of the story you could even have a nod to the stilwater spelled w one L joke. like pre-war it was stillwater. but over time due to damaged signage became stilwater. similarly you could do smth w bridgeport/steelport.
i actually think mixing all the games together would work for this bc of how over time the games start to get more futuristic tech but also w the earlier games overall friction between the gangs. also bc it’s so far in the future it’s like why not just put them all together. honestly just for the sake of things, put stilwater and steelport geographically closer together.
especially w respective gang turfs and leaning into that aspect of their general contention, using a mix of the gangs in stilwater would work for this AU. the VK obviously reigning over the old kingdom come records building and nearby buildings downtown. the rollerz having the arena and surrounding old chop shops. the carnales + the brotherhood having the factories on the coastline. dane and eric and other ultor ppl keeping up the creation of the ultor district in the aftermath, keeping it enclosed and outsiders being unable to get in normally, similar to the new vegas strip. ofc the saints have the old church. may have to move some things around and kinda mix the maps from sr1 and sr2 but yeah. the philosotologists could also be a group led by Z/zinyak; they could even be a group comprised of ghouls instead and you could lean on the visual similarities between the zin and ghouls. maybe w the ultor district being such a beacon, it gets the attention of steelport gangs who want to take it over as well. ultor is definitely hoarding a lot of resources and information, so it’s highly valued for a reason. ofc you’d have to get past the masako first.
on a more general worldbuilding and design level tho i feel like you could totally repurpose the fake ads in sriv for this, things like friendly fryer or even genki being a more era-appropriate cartoon mascot. like the pieces are all there. even just the general technological vibes of sriv would play into this pretty well, w more reliance on futuristic weaponry. like walk with me.

post of all my thoughts on the Skybound Transformers comic, where i actually go into WHY i like it
NOT SPOILER-FREE I wanna ramble freely abt this!!
i mean tbh all i have so far is praise but i just wanna ramble about specifically WHY i like it ykno
ok so first off the brutality…I've seen ppl complain abt that but honestly i LOVE it. I like this story establishing the tone and stakes RIGHT away. I was like OH okay it's going to be THIS kind of comic (in a good way). the comics being darker is smth i've always liked.
what's more I feel like it establishes the gravity of the decepticons being there. like...I don't think, in ANY TF thing, I have ever really felt FEAR for the human characters. so...starscream squishing a guy into GOO on-panel was a big OH moment. the danger feels tangible
which brings me into my thoughts on the decepticons and like...listen, i am the FIRST in line for stories about sympathetic decepticons and morally grey autobots. but i am absolutely LOVING how delightfully sadistic starscream is. it's about time he was an actual threat again
as much as i enjoy the misunderstood/underdog decepticon stories…they are the villains. that has always been their purpose in TF as an entire concept (besides SG i guess). so letting them BE villains and be just WHOLLY awful people like ooh i can get into this 👌
they're awful in a realistic way too, at least to me. like i enjoy how cartoonishly ~evil~ the decepticons are in like, the og g1 cartoon, but i'd never describe g1 starscream as "sadistic". but HERE?? in this comic?? absolutely would describe him that way. and it's amazing
which like…I am also glad for a story that doesn't pull its punches and give "important" characters plot armor. like i was FULLY shocked at not only the characters that (supposedly) died, but how brutally they died as well. again, great way to establish stakes
energy/resources scarcity is also something i'm glad is touched upon by this story right out the gate, you can FEEL the desperation from BOTH sides. it's something that's baked into the concept since g1, but i feel like g1 doesn't FULLY explore that yknow
the amount of horror i felt watching soundwave and starscream rip skywarp apart out of sheer desperation? yeah that SHOOK me, and i LOVE when stories can do that. that was horrific and really went a long way in showing just how desperate cybertronians have become and what lines the cons are willing to cross. rip though god, was hoping skywarp was finally gonna get to do something LMAOO 💀💀
but also on the other hand…wow a continuity where CLIFFJUMPER gets to do something and doesn't die immediately?? revolutionary, good for him
and i have seen a lot of people praising this specifically and i have to agree that i LOVE how this optimus prime is written. he's so kind and gentle, with an absolute WONDER for the beauty of organic life and willingness to protect creatures he JUST met. i love that so much??
i've been so jaded abt OP for a while and only recently started liking him bc i have issues with how he's written in…a LOT of continuities lol. but this is such good OP characterization. not my FAVE, like honestly my fave OP is more like Tired Annoyed Dad, but this is SO good
uhh I think that's all my thoughts. tl;dr i am LOVING this comic so so much so far, the fact that i can ramble THIS much about it when there are only 4 issues out is a great thing imo, i am so excited to see where this story goes!
(and I'm hoping maybe someday I can work on them myself ahdlfsjh i am gonna try my hardest to make that happen)

Any tips on traveling alone? I would love to do it, but I get super anxious alone out of nowhere sometimes ☠️
oof, okay so, I really need to disclaimer a question like this with a couple of pretty important things:
I am a white woman
I am 5'10
I mean-mug the living hell out of people
those factors don't prevent things from happening to me while out on the road, but it is exceptionally rare that I get bothered at all. I also just don't think people really give much of a shit if you're in the right areas.
my biggest rules for the sake of simplicity:
at least one person knows where I'm going. preferably, it should be multiple and you should ask them to be available in the event of an emergency. this is one of those cases where I firmly believe you need to be able to be an inconvenience to people in your life.
in the same vein as above, my specific person knows where I'm going, a general idea of how long I'll be there (sometimes it varies depending on how wild I'm feeling), and it's preferable that they know where you're staying, things you're planning to do, and it's even better if you can regularly keep in contact with them while traveling. I have one friend who will do voice msgs with me while I'm out on the road overnight. if you're able to provide actual timelines—that's better.
only stop in safer areas. I am talking about rest stops, I am talking about very large gas/truck stations such as wawa and sheetz. if you're traveling to an area where you have no choice but to stop somewhere kinda "eh", always stay vigilant to your surroundings and know where your exits are at all times.
do not leave your vehicle unattended for ANY amount of time w/o locking it first. it's more about theft than someone slipping into your backseat, but yeah. you don't need to come back from a dump to find something missing.
do not tell strangers where you're going no matter how nice they are, or if they're insistent. lie. lie. lie. most folks are able to sniff out travelers and tourists pretty easily, so keep that in mind.
I don't really do this bc if someone bothers me, I'll crack their necks, but if you NEED to sleep in your vehicle (e.g. rest stop nap or smth), it's a smart idea to invest in blankets or window covers to block out people from seeing inside at YOU and/or what you have inside.
honestly—be unsociable. don't be a mean-mugging dick like me; be cordial and polite, but don't give people an opening to press for questions or to keep a conversation going/follow you around.
it's a very smart idea to map out your route beforehand and know what's on the way (rest stops, gas stations, fast food) so you're not putting unnecessary stress on yourself. I, truthfully, almost never do this and can't say I regret it, but I have been inconvenienced a few times.
gps like waze and google maps are fairly reliable these days, but always always always alwaaaaaays pay attention to the road signs and detours. sometimes, gps does miss things and this limits the chance of getting lost or turned around or adding time.
now, this is probs controversial being a woman traveling solo, but I prefer to travel at night. yes, there is a lot of risk of doing that, however, I do it to save myself time and miss major interstate traffic. I have, personally, never had any issues doing this. all major gas stations/truck stops will be open; small town/rural areas will be unlikely.
P L E A S E actually plan your trip. I take spontaneous day trips and night drives all the time with no goal, but if you're long-distance traveling, it is absolutely worth dedicating the time to creating at least a rough itinerary so you're not wasting time, gas, resources.
you do not need eight outfits. you only need as many outfits as days you'll be traveling—maybe one extra in case of an accident or something. do pack extra underwear tho bc u just never know 👀
I use those little travel bottles for my skincare, haircare, body care and only take a very small satchel for my makeup essentials. be realistic about what you take with you. I understand that there's always the "maybe", but you ain't gonna have the extra hands to lend you a hand with all the heavy stuff. pack essentials, if you desperately need anything else, pick it up along the way.
I always pack/buy snacks bc I don't always want to stop unless I need gas and to pee, like, simultaneously, y'know? I try to maximize driving time, minimize stopping time. we're usually on a time crunch; we gotta get there *snaps fingers*.
I always bring/buy several bottles of water, but I drink cautiously so I don't gotta stop constantly.
I suggest setting a very loud, stimulating traveling playlist so keep you alert. when you're on the road in the middle of the night w/ nothing around you and it's just going on and on and on, that's when you start running into trouble. I also tend to find a lot of new music I like during my trips bc I constantly scroll.
keep Tylenol, ibuprofen, Pepto, menstruation meds, menstruation supplies on hand just in case. I've had it happen lmao. I usually also get headaches bc of staring at the road and LED headlights shining in my eyes
I always have a blanket and travel pillow stashed away in my car for comfort. heating pads are amazing for your back and neck after driving long hours.
DO NOT take longer road trips by yourself until you get your vehicle thoroughly checked out, oil changed, brakes, ect ect. I always bring my vehicle in and have the mechanics stare me in the eyes and tell me my vehicle is safe for the drive. any good, reputable mechanic is not going to risk their reputation to lie to you about something like that.
uhhh this isn't all, but it's a good start. I think traveling solo as a woman is fun to do, but there is definitely risk involved. the idea is to be cautious and safe to minimize events from happening.

It doesn't give you any easy answers but it provides a lot of scholarly resources and leaves a lot of space to come to your own conclusions. Read it on a plane. Kinda fire.
Eros the Bittersweet, Anne Carson: We all know Carson. But I'm picking a nonfiction essay instead of Autobiography of Red or her translations mostly because this one takes you behind the curtain of a lot of her famous translations when it comes to the aspect of love. I'm not really nonfiction girl in general but this was worth it
Chain Gang All Stars, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah: Speculative abolitionist fiction! Set in a near future where prisoners can compete in death matches to try and win their freedom. I've honestly read nothing like this...ever, like it's in a league of it's own but if you're a fan of the way footnotes were used in something like Babel you're gonna wanna check this out. Multiple povs (really interesting pov switching from a craft perspective actually) overlap to paint a stark and realistic depiction of American prisons.
The Devourers, Indrapramit Das: This was described to me as "IWTV but with werewolves and in Mughal India and actually really good" and while that's a pretty comprehensive plot summary it does not even begin to cover the shit this novel goes through. This is a book about transformation and stories and what letting a story live in you can do for you. The werewolves are kinda obviously a genderqueer allegory as well (as they often are in sff lmao) but when the interviewer himself starts talking about gender in his experiences you can see how that changes the story he's transcribing and it's just very cool. Heavy trigger warnings on this one though. Don't read if you can't handle a bit of piss (they are wolves). Writing style wise feels very similar to the magical realism of The Hungry Tide if that's ur bag
The Mill on the Floss, George Eliot: In the way that s&s is my Austen, this is MY Eliot. A classic story about women of this era who cannot fit into the boxes society lays out for them. A failed romance brands the main character an outcast in their town in a way that is. Hear me out. Fucking Utenaesque. Follow for some classic tragedy and themes of water....I would compare this more with like Dickens Bleak House than Austen though.
Villette, Charlotte Bronte: Once again. MY Bronte. Maybe it's just cause I read this before Jane Eyre but literally I do not understand why Miss Eyre gets so much more love than my girl Lucy. In broad strokes the story is about an English girl who ends up having to support herself by moving to France and becoming an English teacher at a girls boarding school. She's also plagued by a terrifying apparition of a nun, because this is Charlotte we're talking about and there's a bit of Catholic v Protestant thing going on. I read this during the very early pandemic and let me tell you some of the descriptions of isolation and loneliness are soooooo. yeah.
Monstrous Regiment, Terry Pratchett: Listen. Like, listen. It's that good. I wouldn't put a discworld novel up against fucking chain gang all stars unless it was THAT good. This is a classic 'girl dresses up as a boy and goes to war to find her brother' story. It definitely started as a commentary on folk songs/stories but it is at it's heart a novel long criticism of imperialism, nationalism, and organized religion (there's jokes though it's funny). Also not to be that guy when it comes to LGBTQ book recs but the thing came out in 2002 and it's surprisingly thoughtful when it comes to both gender and sexuality. You do not have to be a fantasy fan or a discworld fan to read this. If you gave Pratchett a try and didn't like it i STILL insist you give MR a shot. It is in a league of it's own.
Wives and Daughters, Elizabeth Gaskell: Do not be scared off by the sheer length of this one. It's fucking silly. This is one of my faaaaaaaave 1800s novels about class. We have juxtaposition between Molly's family (her father is a gentleman but a working doctor) and the landed gentry but also this divide between the uneducated Squire and his Cambridge bound sons and another one with the 'new money' gentry. There's also quite a lot of early science and anthropology documented in this (Gaskell and Darwin were besties) if that's interesting to you. WARNING: SHE DIED BEFORE SHE FINISHED THIS. ITS LIKE 99% DONE THOUGH

hello hello hello, i humbly ask you to elaborate about the superhero au???
mmmm okay. extremely self-indulgent au in which i take shameless inspiration from several marvel heroes in varying degrees. it's cringe idc
christine is like. the spider-man type. secret identity, self-made vigilante after gaining superpowers through an accident. your friendly neighborhood hero. she's the first hero to establish the group with the help of retired hero mr. reyes or whatever idk
brooke was born with more magic-ish powers (think mutant) but she doesn't like that so she hid it until she was recruited by the group. head of hq, mostly oversees tech and plans as an office operator. rarely dabbles in field work because she doesn't trust her powers but she's very powerful
jake's motivator is guilt bc his parents were criminals idk and he feels obligated to vigilante work to make up for that or smth. and then he has another moral crisis about whether or not beating villains up is the right thing to do. zero powers or training he is just Some Guy with a well-respected civilian identity. very daredevil-core.
rich gained superpowers after being subject to human experiments in an illegal facility, no the powers do not include pyrokinesis. affiliated with gangs and shit bc of his background and uses it to his advantage in undercover missions.
chloe is a former assassin & was trained to be a child soldier in a red room-esque program. the first thing she wanted to do after escaping was bring down the organization + she couldn't return to society so. joining the group was the obvious answer.
jenna was a private investigator (yes like jessica jones) who didn't have anything to do with superheroes and shit until she accidentally took a case related to them and got roped in. still technically works solo but helps out enough to be considered a member.
michael was this totally normal random civilian living his life until he accidentally got into a situation with the heroes/villains. took the job as an office operator as a witness protection sort of thing. very tech-savvy and resourceful.
jeremy had his memory wiped when he was kidnapped & experimented on by the squip, gained superpowers as a result. he's almost robot-like when he's turned to the group but he slowly regains his memory and recovers.
aaaand madeline is a double agent originally from a villain organization in canada that brainwashed her. has a fake french alias and mostly takes undercover operations, often helps brooke in hq. dustin is the IT guy who's like. in the back of a van with a laptop. that kind of thing. he's a programmer & close friend of christine's and accidentally discovered classified info on her computer and thus was recruited. nicole is another office operator.
you can ask for more details but honestly i haven't made up my mind either lol it's just. a Thing i entertain in my head sometimes as a former marvel fan

hi chloe! with your experience, do you think that a udemy or other online course is necessary for someone who's never done copywriting before? or at least more helpful than finding guides from different online sources? or am i just being hopelessly naive in thinking that an official-ish course will help me 🥲 i want to start freelance work but i'm sooooo scared to deviate off the beaten path of university + retail/shit job -> career 😵💫
hiii 💌 i don't think it's absolutely necessary, but i do think it could be helpful if you're looking for a way to jump-start a freelancing gig with specialised and consistent support. i will say i never did that while freelancing (though it was always an option i kept going back to) but honestly, building a consistent portfolio of copywriting articles using free online guides, resources and tutorials worked just fine for me - it was just the practice + research that made me improve over time more than anything. totally feel you about the whole deviating off the path thing - but what i love about freelancing is that it's soooo flexible. it doesn't matter if it takes you a while to find your feet or really get into the swing of it because it's just smth you're doing out of genuine interest/ in hopes of widening your career prospects one day. like ur going to be no worse off than you are now if you go for it so fuck it might as well!! but obv that's just my outsider opinion i know it's not as easy as that most of the time. i dont think theres ever any harm in trying though. sending a hug your way x

sorry to be massively invasive here but as somebody with STICKERS all over their forearm crutches I am dying to know what your aid looks like to be deemed "too fun" (if you're willing to tell). Literally losing my mind over the idea of somebody saying that to me
BAHAHA ok ok so I can see why they thought it looked too fun but I Cannot See how after talking to me they didn’t listen
I have a variety of different wheel attachments for my shoes and modified heelys specifically to aid my conditions. They’re helpful of course in that they make travelling long flat distances both faster and less stressful on my joints and muscles overall, but also in that if I’m with people in close to (or even just using a shopping cart) I can essentially hitch a ride without having to exert too much of the little energy I do have on bad days
These wheeled shoes/attachments are not only considered medical expenses, but were cited specifically as an example for my qualification to use disabled parking! While they can, as roller shoes, be used for fun, that is by no means the reason I wear them in public (particularly not a reason I would wear them in stores), and they were absolutely not being used as a toy or fun thing! I personally would not wear them in places like stores if I didn’t have to, particularly out of some sense of respect, and particularly ti avoid situations like this one
I had a knee brace on, I had a cane I was actively using in between using the wheels. When I have little to no energy it is very hard for me to walk more than a little, and so using these wheels is something that works well for me and my circumstances; it’s not as though I was fooling around or anything which is part of what pissed me off so bad; I was pointedly trying to keep to myself and stay close to the people I was at the store with, so as not to draw unnecessary attention or “cause a scene” or smth
So yea it was rolling shoes, which I can see why they would think that *at first*, but after explaining my situation, particularly the fact that while they may *look* fun the fact that I’m needing to use them at all means I Am Not Having A Fun Time, I was still not listened to,,, Wheeled shoes + a very stickered cane
I also think it has to do with the fact that physically I look completely able-bodied- even on my worst days just looking at me most people tend to assume I’m sleep deprived for some reason. I also physically look very young; particularly to have a condition affect me that badly (something I still don’t get but egh )
Similar things happen when I try to use different aids too though,, I’ve been told by many a stranger, upon utilising one of the electric shopping carts, or having someone in with take me around in a wheelchair when I don’t have my shoes and cane, that I’m “taking away resources from people who need them” or that I “shouldn’t play with that stuff”. So it’s not even a matter of *my* aids in particular. The area I live in has a lot of older people, and it is 9/10 times people in this age group that make these types of comments, including this time
So anyways yea I can see why they thought that; wheeled shoes are regaining popularity as a fun thing right now! There’s all sorts of combo roller skate sneakers I see online, and what I use could easily be mistaken for that. There’s also the viewpoint that someone else might see me do it and think they could, but quite honestly I don’t see how that’s my issue; they could’ve said no to those people just as well. If it was a liability thing because of potential of injury, they didn’t say. But I’m really upset that I wasn’t listened to after providing context, especially as I was not being disruptive. The store was really big, and without those aids, I couldn’t actually walk around to shop! I don’t have access to a wheelchair of my own, and there was nothing available store provided (not that I was expecting it) and so there was no alternative for me. The fact that they would say that point blank even after I explained my situation is kinda nuts to me

smiles i love when zelda fans are unhappy and lore gets discarded. but let me elaborate so i sound less deranged, zelda and many nintendo games began w gameplay first, and botw and now totk has become the culmination and return to that design philosophy. and im fine w this when it comes to zelda, bc zelda's overarching narrative is a cesspool of racist and imperialist ideologies and thats smth i can do without (tho even without an overarching plot, their environments still manage to be racist but thats a tangent for some other time).
but with that said im not a negative nancy who can smile just bc lore is getting thrown into the bin, bc what totk did was not just throw away botw's lore; they disregarded elements from botw, all while reusing most of botw's resources, barely optimizing it, then marking it up at a higher price bc they knew there would be a high demand for this game. its honestly insulting and im surprised ppl dont give nintendo more shit for it. like guardians have been wiped off the map w no explanation, and yet they left that guardian on top of robbie's (?) sheikah lab. and even tho link's totk hairstyle is his hair being let down, Many items (items from botw) will put tie ur hair back up the way it was tied up in botw. and the amiibo items from the previous games are now your incentive to explore the depths. the map is the same, the npcs are the same, and yet the game pretends like its a new world that hadnt been booted over from a previous title. like how can you reuse all the same resources from the previous game, but not acknowledge the storyline of the previous game. thats insane. totk is not a majora's mask to botw, it's more like a hero's mode. and the audacity to sell that at a higher price...

think i mentioned this before but i am so happy that kids now hv positive queer media
like for me the first queer person i saw on tv was prob cyrus from andi mack and that was like one of (if not) the first openly queer person in a disney channel show
and back then cuz that was the only openly queer media i had i was honestly confused but yk inference skills and at this time i was prob like just younger than my sister is now
(ngl when cyrus first said “i like jonah” (like the guy at the school) i was like “doesn’t everyone??”)
then obviously when it came to my personal self discovery it was/has been very hard to find the right words for how i feel bc of the communities i’m in irl
like when it came to gender i was so confused for so long and i remember finding the term that fit me and just smiling so hard my cheeks hurt for the next hr or so (i’ve realized not that i’m not so comfy with that term but wtv)
even now i’ve had some issues with being bi cuz of my very little interest in masculinity and just recently thats to this place i’ve found (at least rn) security in my sexual and romantic orientation
now compare that to my younger sister
she has all this queer media around her and has come out to me at such a young age
like she is so good abt peoples pronouns and will point out gender queer representation when she sees it
ex. 1 watching zombies 3 cuz why not and theres a non binary character cuz yk aliens or smth and my dad walks into the living room and a character goes “…they…” and my sister goes “DADDY DID U HEAR THAT THEY” or smth
ex. 2 she got a plant as like a give away thing and she comes up to me and my friends and goes “this is @&£]*% thye use they them pronouns” and yes it’s a plant but yk the lorax spoke for the trees we’re gonna go with it
and she’ll watch shows with queer people (mostly cuz i watch shows with queer people) and join me in the shipping or wtv and just be wholly and completely fine and understand this
that goes to show that if kids hv these resources they will understand it i didn’t grow up with this up she has

now a bit more serious but
my sisters queer is into queer media and yk knows of queer music
and if u know toh (the owl house) u know that early on in the show a character in the show was very much associated with the song little miss perfect so i showed it to her (and obvi ordinary when it came out)
now at one of the first days of school that year she told her class at our catholic school her favorite songs were little miss perfect and ordinary
at this time she didn’t know abt homophobia and i am so glad for it but obvi very religous school with tons of parents who hv more rightist views so i tried to explain to her infront of our parents that there were tons of people who didn’t like queer people at school
it absolutely sucked telling my sister that she had to hide who she is bc some people suck

this is all to say that for the next generation, can we pls make so that they don’t hv to hide who they r for their own safety can we pls make things like being queer more out there so people don’t hv to look everywhere for a place that fits them
