I was feeling a bit Romantic and a bit angsty. This will be implied Danny/Damian/Jon. But mostly focuses on Jon and Danny aspect.
Feeding into the Kryponite is ectoplasm AU. Danny is essentially a walking piece of Kryponite, not as bad as the solid Kryponite but enough to weaken Kryponite and hurt them if in contact.
But Danny is so nice and it's not his fault he's walking poison to Jon.
In fact, Danny doesn't even know. He only knows that Jon sometimes avoids touching him or outright avoids him (especially on patrol), and he always makes sure their shorter boyfriend is in between them.
Does Jon not actually love him? Was he only putting up with him for Damian? What did he do wrong?
Jon is literally making himself sick and won't tell Danny cause he's afraid he'll break up with him or something due to his misguided hero complex.
Damian thinks both of his boyfriends are morons.

AU Sonic Smackdown - Round 1, Right Side
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Click to see full size image
Tachophobia AU belongs to @boom-fanfic-a-latta and @the-sky-queen
Starry AU belongs to @euanpc and talise on Discord
Read more about them under the cut!
Tachophobia AU-
Personality: Nikolai "Niko" Peterson is a very anxious and timid lad, very much a people pleaser with a hard time chosing things for himself. He's also extremely afraid of "relapsing" into his "delusions" of being Sonic, and has severe tachophobia (fear of speed/going fast) because of that. He also stutters a lot.
Backstory: The general gist of the AU is that Starline survived IDW issue 50, and managed to kidnap Sonic and heavily brainwash him via hypnosis into thinking he's no longer himself and that he was delusional about being the hero Sonic the Hedgehog. It's an extremely messed-up AU but by golly have we gotten a lot of mileage out of it.
Powers: He still has Sonic's natural speed and chaos abilities, but not only is he afraid of going fast now, he's also been given inhibitors that repress his abilities. He is entirely unaware of all these abilities…he is good at drawing, though! :D
Starry AU-
In this world eggman left for the stars after sonic messed him up the first time in his absence GUN took the position of the worlds villains using the misguided mindset of "gotta control everyone, it's the only way to keep them safe"
His personality is basically if you take Sonic’s main personality traits and dial them up to 10. He’s completely uncontrollable, always searching for thrill, impulsive, but has a heart of gold. He doesn’t take most situations seriously, but when a line is crossed he’ll show that he’s actually very perceptive. he has a fear of tight constraining spaces, water and a abnormal, persistent, irrational fear of failure.

ERIDAN CAPTOR
Lore under the cut
The rest of the au can be found here.
Powerless goldblood with years of ridicule under his leather sash thingie
Believes that any day now, he'll awaken to something incredible, never giving up Hope
To supplement his lack of optic blasts, he experiments with ranged weaponry and magic, coming to dual-wield pistolkind (his original Strife Abstrata) and Wandkind (picked up during SGRUB)
Assists in Feferi's anti-hemospectrum activism after having met her on a forum, being desperate for friends allies. If pressured, he'd probably try to spin that he recruited her.
Campaigns against the hemospectrum out of a general, unfocused hero complex that he claims to understand far more than he actually does, everyone who disagrees with him is just another misguided soul or a villain to be vanquished

The many potential storylines from "Wish"
I think I am not the only person who absolutely loved the (early) concept but hated the execution of Disney's Wish.
There are so many dynamics that are or could b explored between Magnifico and Asha in Fanfic. Here are a couple idea's I have seen (combined) so far:
early concept - evil!Amaya x evil!Magnifico VS Starsha. Its already a classic and basically becoming canon among Wish-fans.
Post-Wish - Magnifico gets freed from his Mirror by Asha because she needs his help. Its mostly written by fans who want him redeemed, but I havent seen anyone writing Asha fall for Magnifico the forbidden magic?!
Neither villain or Hero AU - Asha is well-meaning but misguided in her overly idealistic worldview whereas Magnifico is experienced yet too stuck in his ways. it takes a more mature approach to the dilemna surrounding the Wishes, where a middle ground is sought between the youthful idealist and the weary realist.
Twist and classic villain AU - where Magnifico takes after the great disney villains of old, and Amaya takes after twist villains of the most recent era, like King Candy.
twist villainess AU! - Amaya turns out to be the true villain and she is just as powerful as Malificent. Meanwhile Magnifico joins the good guys to defeat her.
Megamind AU - with Asha's villain song from Lydia Bard, I am dying for someone to write an AU where Magnifico's harsh treatment of Asha and his paranoia make Asha turn into an even worse vilain than himself. Magnifico snaps out of his power-rush when he realizes what he (and Asha) are about to become. Now, Magnifico has to redeem himself by saving Asha from the corrupting magic and seeks out the Star

Ideological swap AU:
Euphrasie, a former Housemaiden of Dormont's House of Change, hails originally from the island-nation of Ananke, north of Jouvente. On Ananke, she was in a terrible – largely-undefined, to the theoretical game camera's eye – relationship with an unknown man, a "cry-bullying tyrant," which made her suspicious, bitter and unkind – made her worse, she says.
Euphrasie left one day and found her way to Vaugarde, but wherever you go, there you are – Housemaiden or not, even desperately working to adapt, she was still unkind when she didn't want to be, still tormented by awful memories, still taking it out on others. She wished to be rid of the history that made her this way, using her old country's rituals, and gained the power of "Memory Craft" – the power to "scramble" information, such that no one could recall it existed in the first place.
And so – taking her favorite young Housemaiden as a companion – she left her country, styled herself "Faceless" after her god (misunderstanding the Change God's deal pretty badly) and set herself up in Ananke. There, she used "Joyeux" – monsters born from intense emotion – to drive away its residents, so they'd flee to Vaugarde through her one-way barrier. Once the island was properly vacated, she intended to erase it from history – to erase the context that made her so bitter, the society that enabled it just because her old someone was versed in the ways of the Universe, and to be properly and only a daughter of Change and Vaugarde.
Everyone, she says, can start again this way.
Siffrin, the Stargazer, fled the same cruel tyrant that Euphrasie did – albeit separately – and found himself blessed mysteriously with the power to remember everything, no matter what. They are... unlikely, as heroes go – accustomed to creeping around and leaving the charisma and earnestness to less disillusioned folks – but they care deeply about the people they love.
Odile, the Historian, is here with a vested interest in preserving the cultural history of a small, embattled people – particularly against a collaborateur trying to force-assimilate her entire homeland.
Bonnie, the Kid, is here on the strength of a mysterious series of notes they left themself, telling them that they've forgotten something important and that only defeating the Faceless will return those memories. They're a pretty lonely kid.
Isabeau, the Guardian, is... pretty similar, actually. Given Siffrin's limited social graces, he's taken on a bigger social role. Like a diplomat who hits stuff, basically.
And Mirabelle, the Turncoat... was a cool-ass rival character for most of the saviors' journey, out of loyalty to her Head Housemaiden and her House and a lack of anywhere else to go. She returned to the side that isn't trying to destroy a country out of guilt:
It's her rapier that took out Siffrin's eye.
She doesn't want to be that person. She's desperate to change – to be forgiven, by the end of this quest – but there's indelible proof of her rottenness, right on Siffrin's face. So, with the ritual that her faceless caretaker never quite let herself use, she wished that she could be someone different...
And there's nothing more formative – more self-destroying and -recreating – than intense, sustained time loop trauma, right?
(Her faithful guide Ring claims to be a success story: they became someone completely new, down to a new name and pronouns, and broke the cycle, but graciously returned to Ananke to guide weary, misguided, treacherous little Belle to a proper ending. The name "Ring" comes from their bonding earrings, prominently displayed and visible even through the corona of their head. After all, they say, changing – like they were supposed to – meant learning to love the right way, without distrust and fear.
Fucked up thing to say, Ring!)

Do you wanna ramble about you ideas of Reader isekaied with little siblings, Reader being obsessed w/ Greek Mythology and a religious reader who worships one or more Greek Deities perchance? 👀👀👀👀
Omg yesss!! I love ranting abt my au ideas omg-
First off,reader with little siblings
I feel like depending on the age it could be really cute. Like, you get isekai'd,no big deal. Only to look next to you to find your little sibling laying there. We could go the angst imposter au route, where everyone believes that the creator is an only child,so they Hunt you down for lying,or you BOTH are accused of stealing the "divine light and divine frame's" faces. Either way,you have to not only protect yourself, but your sibling as well.
The aftermath would be so much worse, because either you both die, your sibling is captured and used as blackmail,or something even worse.
But that's not all, because we can also go the normal cult au route, where both you and your sibling are worshipped. You try to keep them out of the spotlight (in the event they are much younger than you),but it ultimately doesn't work. I can imagine that if your sibling isn't as loved as you,the acolytes you assign to thier care aren't very happy.
Taking it a step further, what if your sibling is Demonized in all the holy texts of Tevyat?
Something that goes like:
"The younger sibling betrayed thier kind older sibling, yet because the divine creator loved them so,they were forgiven."
So now your acolytes treat them really badly when you're not around :[[
Oooo what if reader was helping thier sibling farm for the account,so the texts say something like this:
"Long ago, this world was created by a kind God,who created this world as a gift for thier younger sibling, who wasn't gifted with the gift of creation as they were"
Boom, now while you created tevyat, your sibling rules it. Bonus points if the sibling is really young and can't really make the big desions.
There are legit so many directions I could take this prompt omg-
Next up,reader who has a Greek patron god
Thier creator? Worshipping a "higher god"? Absolutely blasphemous! That's is what the initial reaction Is. However, after a while,(in cult au),it is generally an accepted belief that your patron god was your mentor, and you were just humble about your abilities. (Much like sucrose)
In imposter au,you are even more screwed. Stealing thier gods face while also refusing to worship Them??
Your crimes mustn't go unpunished.
In normal cult au,they simply cannot wrap thier head around it. But now, your acolytes tend not to bat an eye when you speak of your "god". They find it strange, and they think that you have been misguided in some way,but they won't comment on it. To them, you are thier God and they have no reason to question your beliefs.
They will, however, speak of it behind your back.
It's a similar case with reader who is obsessed with Greek mythology
The constant references to mythology are confusing to them. Often times there are people around you that write down everything you say,and the sheer amount of references to this "greek" mythology baffle them.
Why do you have such an obsession with other gods? You are the creator, they are lesser than you. If anything, the people and gods in this mythology should be worshipping and thanking you for your interest.
It'd be really funny if reader randomly made a reference to a Greek hero and the acolytes are like:
"..what."
Then that starts you on a long rant about the specific story, and you re tell it almost word for word.
Also,I like to think that some (all) of the stories you tell them end up into books, except the names of the gods are changed to either one of your titles or an archon name. Some context is changed as well,so it just ends up being really funny.
You go to a store one day only to find a children's storybook. Its set up like an aesop's fables book for some reason. You flip to a random page and see the name "Narcissus".
It's the story of Narcissus word for word. Some names are changed, but there's no doubt about it.
You end up buying the book, and a couple of Tevyat mythology books on the way. You wanted to spread more Greek mythology throughout Tevyat, and if all you had to do was tell your favorite acolytes a tale or two...
You grin. You were going to be doing a lot of storytelling today.
****
End of rant!!
I rlly enjoyed writing this omg

OH OH WHAT ABOUT THIS ATREBODA AU I JUST CAME UP WITH because i'm currently listening to both delightful and brooding classical music. these strings are making me feel things. (bars 🔥)
victorian era england, a son of a working class man (kratos is either a blacksmith in this or does manual labor), walking in a park with his two dogs (speki and svanna! <3). he is there with his sketch book, the park is where he can find inspiration & draw in peace. suddenly he comes across a shiny pearl necklace. someone has lost this, but who could it be? he looks around and sees a young lady, a worried expression etched on her face. she is pretty, has her hair tied up, a fan in her hand, wearing a beautiful gown with bows and, by jove, pearl accessories! that must be hers!
or so atreus thinks. he has never talked to anyone of the aristocracy before, let alone be in the presence of them! but he works up the courage to ask her about the necklace in his hand. it's now or never. "e-excuse me, my lady... is this yours by any chance?"
she looks up, relief washing over her. "yes, it is! oh thank you so much for finding it! i thought i was done for..." it's a prized posession, the set angrboda has on is her mother's. she would have been heartbroken if she had truly lost it, but thnkfully there's a hero around. a lanky and akward hero, but that's not important. she then asks him to help her put the necklace on, which atreus does with shaky hands and shallow breathing (he tried desperately to hide his nervousness. but it worked!).
angrboda notices the sketchbook atreus has. she reveals that she loves to draw as well, she does it often in her free time! atreus feels happy to have find someone who shares the same interests as him, and they both sit on the bench. they talked to each other for a long time, quite animatedly too.
there's no evil stepmother in this story. there is, however, a bitter and misguided grandmother. gryla wonders where the girl has gone off to now. it is time for her singing lessons and preparations for the banquet. but she spots angrboda talking to a mere lower class boy. what is this girl doing? speaking/associating with the common folk? why is she adamant in becoming a laughing stock, like her mother was? her mother's union to her father shook the aristocratic world. it was only a miracle that gryla has gotten a second chance with angrboda. there is no way she will let her tarnish the family name. gryla must set up suitors for her, dukes, earls, barons, whoever it must be! all so she can forget all about that boy and not ruin her chance (even though she's in the wrong. very much so.)
DUN DUN DUUUUNN. TO BE CONTINUED. MAYBE.
PLEASE. ONTINEU THIS ANAON WDYDUUJHHHHGGGGG

Finally returning to my version of the AU where Jason lives because Dick dies:
Let's get this out of the way: this is not an AU where Dick dies in Ethiopia instead of Jason. In fact, in this AU, no one makes it out to Ethiopia at all.
I'm still doing my NTT reading, but we're going to mess with the timeline somewhat. Jason is benched because of the whole Garzonas incident, but before he can run off to Ethiopia and get himself killed, Dick Grayson dies.
The Titans aren't in space because that complicates the timing and logistics and whatnot, so instead, let's say, hmmm, Brother Blood did it.
Bruce takes the news extremely poorly of course. Jason is now benched indefinitely because Bruce expresses his emotions through being controlling. Bruce also proceeds to go and try to boss around the Titans and take down Brother Blood. The Titans, who are also mourning their friend and have little love for Batman, don't take kindly to this. The following clusterf*** of a situation leads to Brother Blood manipulating circumstances in his favor so that he gets away with killing Dick, somehow.
Following that disaster, no longer having the outlet of action, Bruce begins to sink into despair. He fights crime by rote and the mix of rage and despair his grief takes means he doesn't particularly care about the condition that both he and the people he fights come out in.
Meanwhile, Jason is also upset. He and Dick had their rocky moments, sure, but they still had something that was almost brotherhood. He's upset that Dick is dead and guilty because part of him thinks he should feel worse. He fights with Bruce in the aftermath (words only, not blows) over the way Bruce is handling it: the way that he benched Jason and is pushing him away. Bruce responds by doing this even moreso. Jason in turn responds by purposefully avoiding Bruce. It's quite some time before they're in the same room as each other again.
Tim is in school when he hears about Nightwing's death. For maximum angst, lets say that he died on live television while Brother Blood arranged things to either look like he was only acting in self-defense after the misguided and out of control Titans attacked him, or that it was a tragic accident that he tried and failed to stop. Maybe he fell to his death.
Tim also takes this poorly. Nightwing was his hero. His nightmares come back, his grades start to drop. He sneaks away from boarding school to attend Dick Grayson's funeral (mostly a closed, private ceremony, but he hides in the back) and again to visit his grave after one too many sleepless nights, leaving a copy of the picture of them at the circus.
(I know A Death in the Family takes place in the spring, but we're putting Dick's death in the fall in this AU for school year timeline purposes.)
The school calls Tim's parents about this and they're so worried about it that they decide to cut their business short and come home early. This would've been a good choice on their part if this weren't also a 'Tim joins the Batfam AU'. As it is though, I need to make Tim an orphan somehow and they both die in a tragic plane accident, or maybe in a car crash on the way to the airport.
This devestates Tim even further and he becomes very depressed :(
But back to Jason. Frustrated with Bruce and his own roiling emotions, Jason decides to cope with his grief in the traditional (very healthy) bat way by putting on a mask and fighting crime. Since Robin is still benched and Jason is still avoiding Bruce, he puts together a new costume. It's probably very emo and edgy with lots of reds and blacks; he calls himself, hmmm, let's say Corvus (Latin for crow) to stick with the bird theme.
While sneaking out at night to dispense vigilante justice, he runs into none other than the Huntress!
Helena can see some of herself in the kid, in the way he fights like there's  something trying to break free, the way they share similar ideas about what Justice sometimes entails. And besides, he's a kid, she doesn't want anything to happen to him. So she takes him under her wing.
With her coming off of a two year hiatus, he's got nearly as much experience as she has. Helena can offer a certain maturity and more life experience. Jason, in turn, knows more about detective work. (He was trained by Batman; She's self-taught)
Jason confides in her that he wants to kill the man who killed his brother. Helena's torn because, on the one hand, that was what she was after. That was what she did. But on the other, Jason's a boy. He's still young. She was an adult when she did it. She knew what she was getting into. She doesn't know if Jason does.
(Also, I think I've heard that Jason having mommy-issues were a thing? Maybe play with those?)
Tim, meanwhile, is in foster care probably, but has definitely been transferred to the public school system and has ended up in none other than Helena Bertinelli's English class.
(He doesn’t know that she's a vigilante and is too depressed to find out.)
In the habit of sneaking away to visit Dick's grave, he runs into Jason once.
He met Dick once, he says when Jason asks him why he's there. It's kind of stupid, he admits, he didn't even know him, so why does his death hurt so much?
I'm going to borrow an idea from scintilly's one dick & tim au now and say that there's that one corrupt Drake Industries executive who's embezzling money and framing a 13 year old orphan for it. Tim is too depressed to really clock when the police start asking pointed questions, but Helena is getting a bad feeling about how the cops keep pulling him out of class to question him. She begins to investigate and Jason joins her.
Jason and Helena uncover what's going on and this somehow culminates in a cool action sequence where Huntress and Corvus have to save Tim from a hitman that the exec sent after him or something, idk
The important part is that, when everything's done, Tim gets a good look at Huntress for the first time and has just enough adrenaline flowing through his brains to make an intuitive leap.
"You're my English teacher," he says.
When pressed why, he admits that he was her meeting with Jason once after school. (He doesn't name Jason, he gestures at Corvus.) When asked why he knew it was Corvus, he's like "Well, you used to be the new Robin."
Jason takes offense at being called the new Robin (he's been doing this for two years!) and also wants to know how Tim recognized him out of costume.
Tim clams up. When pressed, he starts crying and rambling about quadruple somersaults and how everyone who could do them are dead and Jason eventually pieces that together with what he remembers from that one time he met Tim at Dick's grave to figure out what's going on.
And if he knows Dick's ID and he knows Jason's then... "Do you know who Batman is?" he asks.
Tim, still crying, nods.
Jason swears. Well, they can't just leave him alone after all of that can they?
I can get a fostering license, Helena says.
Jason shakes his head. I know a guy, he says.
Is your guy Batman? she asks.
Jason's like, you don't know that.
(It is Batman)
So they drop Tim off somewhere safe until things can be finalized. (Tim makes many promises about how he isn't going to tell anyone anything) and Jason goes off to talk to Bruce for the first time in forever.
While all of this has been going on, Bruce has continued to self-destruct: he's constantly coming home beat to hell, the GCPD are whispering about maybe taking down the giant bat spotlight they unofficially have on the roof, etc etc.
Jason hasn't been in the same room as Bruce in over two months because of grief and also the whole hiding the fact that he's been sneaking out as an unsanctioned vigilante thing. When he finally seeks out Bruce to talk to him about Tim, and sees how bad of a shape the man is in, he breaks down.
Look, Jason's been going through a lot and that's his dad who looks half-dead. Jason doesn't want to lose a father as well as a brother.
They finally get to have a heart to heart where Jason talks about his feelings and admits what he's been getting up to. Bruce listens and remembers that he has more than one son and promises to try and do better by Jason. They hug. It's all very sweet.
Then, when that's done and Jason remembers why he went looking for Bruce in the first place, he's like, "So, uh, there's something else..."
Congratulations, Bruce! It's a boy!
So Tim becomes fostered by Bruce Wayne, Jason goes back to being Robin, and slowly things get better.
Jason continues to go hang out with Helena, and Tim stays as a student in her class. They all hang out together sometimes and Helena shows Tim how to use a crossbow.
Reusing one of my old ideas and going with Tim becomes Robin during No Man's Land when he and Jason run away into the restricted zone as Batman & Robin 2.0, only in this version they also team up with Helena during it.
I also feel like Tim's Robin costume should integrate the color blue in it somehow to honor Dick.
Ummm, skip forward some to get to the part of this AU I was originally thinking about (making fanon Jason & Tim about Dick & Tim)
Dick Grayson is resurrected somehow by Brother Blood. Unfortunately, this means that he is brainwashed and evil.
(Part of me wonders if this should be a mainly Teen Titans story since Dick died under the Titan's editorial)
Anyway, Dick, probably called something edge like "Bloodwing" or something, is sent to kill Robin. While attacking Tim, he sees the picture of him and his parents with Tim at the circus and it causes the brainwashing to crack.
Instead of killing Tim, he kidnaps him and brings him back to Brother Blood's cult. They proceed to have a very bad time together and probably develop a codependent relationship between brainwashing sessions and cult stuff and, idk, other whumpy stuff.
The rest of the Teen Titans show up and save the day. Dick and Tim get deprogrammed. There are lots of tearful reunions between Dick and his friends/family.
Happy endings (until the next major event that is)

Steph & Jason fic recs
Some of the best fics featuring friendship and interactions between Jason Todd and Stephanie Brown.
"Just Another Kid" by shobogan - Stephanie is Jason's best friend. She's about to discover that she's Robin's, too. POV Steph, childhood friends AU. Very sweet, punched me in the emotions. 2013.
"Jason and Me" by David Hines, originally posted on FFN - Newly appointed Robin, Stephanie Brown investigates some old history. (Written before Robin #125.) POV Steph; published during Stephanie's short Robin run before she was fridged, and before Jason returned as Red Hood. (Bonus: Try looking over the old reviews on FFN—pretty interesting to see some of the fan reception for Steph nearly 20 years ago.) 2004.
"4am philosophy" by grayghost (eurydiced) - Then again, every story about Jason seemed to paint a different picture: broken man, or misguided hero, or dangerous zealot who'd had one too many chances, depending on who was doing the telling. If there was one common thread, it was that Jason was a cautionary tale. POV Steph. 2016.
"Close Encounters and Cautionary Tales" by predilection - The first time Jason Todd and Stephanie Brown meet, they end up surprising each other. POV Jason, switches to POV Steph, set during Stephanie's Batgirl era before Bruce's return. 2013.
"Bloodstains Won't Make It Matter" by skylarkblue - Jason returns to Gotham to find another dead Robin. He steals away with the body and resurrects her, but there begs the question: what will they do? POV Jason primarily, with some POV Steph, written for the @jaystephevents prompt "Robin!Stephanie and Red Hood!Jason". Under the Hood rewrite featuring resurrected Stephanie Brown. 2022.
"Ghostgirl and Zomboy " by shauds - "You don't make demands of the ghost, asshole, the ghost makes demands of you." Steph dies, becomes a ghost, and annoys Jason incessantly during his big comeback. POV Jason; mostly a Halloween-themed buddy comedy but watch out for feels. 2018.
"this is a long drive (for three robins who don't agree on much)" by drakefeathers - Steph’s trip home to Gotham takes a huge detour thanks to Jason and Damian’s conflicts with airport security. She’s stuck driving the two brothers cross-country to reach Tim’s wedding in time. POV Steph, civilian/no capes AU, mostly fluff and comedy plus some sweetness. 2014.
"So You Say It's Your Birthday" by Cerusee - “Babs and I are throwing you and Steph a joint birthday party,” Dick said. “It’s on Sunday the 13th, because that’s the only day everybody can make it. It's in the park. Bruce is grilling steaks, and I know you know how good he is at that. You’re coming.” Steph and Jason have a joint birthday party; feel-good fluff and humor with an idealized Batfamily. 2017. POV Jason.
"Hanging On" by Deshal - If there was one thing Stephanie Brown had always excelled at, it was plotting a course and refusing to be moved. Bruce had just needed proof that she was a capable hero in her own right. It was funny just how much Steph’s obstinacy and Bruce’s distrust of her had combined in all the worst ways. POV Steph primarily; post-War Games anti-hero Steph AU; WIP/incomplete.
"Identity Document" by Runespoor - A dark alleyway, a gang of thugs, a victim who won't be victimized, Batman. A bad Robin meets a bad Batman. 2011. POV Steph.
"Lost" by orphan_account - Jason loses a parent, meets a girl, and goes swimming. Then some other stuff happens, too. 2011. POV Jason.
"What's So Amazing That Keeps Us Stargazing" by Cerusee - Stephanie wasn’t stupid; she knew Robin’s colors well as any Gotham kid did. It was Dick’s old costume. (Stephanie knew she wasn’t even supposed to know that name; Batman had had a concussion when he’d called Nightwing by it, and they’d both been cagey with her for months afterwards.) It was the costume he’d worn before he’d grown up and become Nightwing. So why this case, with this costume, but a different name? Batman doesn't get another Robin after Jason, but Spoiler makes her way into the fold anyway. POV Steph; Steph & Bruce. (This is more of a Steph & Bruce story. Jason proper doesn't show up here, but he's here in spirit.) 2018.
"Gotham War: Batgirl" by Teleportation_Magic - If the 2023 Gotham War crossover event actually cared about using Stephanie's potential. POV Steph. [Again, Jason really doesn't have much of a role in this one, but still.]
"the patterned flight of starlings" by Cerusee - In a universe where Jason Todd survives the warehouse, the world is a very different place. 2018-2020.
"Atalanta" by Cerusee - The dog growled at him. Jason growled back. “Don’t do that, you dipshit,” Steph said, heatedly. “You’re antagonizing her. Don’t growl.” Batman enlists Steph and Jason to give a bath to a rescue dog. 2017.
"Family Game Night" by quipquipquip - “YOU AREN’T MY REAL DAD,” Jason bellowed, and flipped the table. “YOU OWN PARK PLACE, BUT YOU DON’T OWN ME!” The Batfamily plays Monopoly; crack comedy. 2011.

Hello @juniperhillpatient how are you doing?
So I just thought of a “role reversal” Azutara au question.
To provide context: Many (but not all) Azutara story start of (or gradually show) Azula and Katara on opposite sides. Either in morals or faction in both canon and au. Until they both do an ooopsie and fall in love with their mortal enemy (each other) and eventually join the good side. To both serve the good and be together. Or at least what they believe to be the good. That’s a simplification but it (hopefully) gets my point across.
It is often in these scenarios that Katara starts off on the more morally just side and Azula less so. Considering canon and all. Through of course everything is more nuanced than that simplification, it does serve the purpose of my ask.
Question: can you think of any AU ideas where Azula stars of on the more “morally righteous” (if such a thing even exist in actuality) side? Though really Azula is only on the “just” side by chance. And Katara on the more villainous side? And Katara has to overcome her own hurdles to join the “good guys”. Their personalities are in tact, Katara is just very misguided or just loyal to the wrong people.
An example could be found in the Districted Reality au. Where we had a “good” Azula and an “evil Katara (though no Ty still kept their canon personalities intact). Again though, such terms are oversimplifications.
Oh yes I’m so onboard 🤩 You know, I don’t always read enough fic much as I’d like to read more tbh because - well - you know not enough hours in the day haha - so I’ll be honest I haven’t read anything like what you’re describing although I’m sure it’s out there!
But I do like the idea as long as it ultimately stays true to the characters. I could certainly see Katara getting pushed to the “dark side” under the right circumstances. Say she loses more people - if Aang died & the war was lost -or in literally any AU if Sokka dies - I could see Katara getting pulled into a dark rebel side by someone like Jet or Hama. Or if we wanna go full AU what if the water family were vampires or werewolves or something & she’s loyal to her family & species even though they’re technically evil to humans? Ooh what if Azula’s family demon hunters in an AU like that? (Okay waaait yeah that’s totally something I might write someday actually…)
And Azula’s whole thing is loyalty. She was indoctrinated to the wrong side. What if she was born on a more righteous side? That could certainly be interesting. For me, Ozai has to be a manipulative toxic fucker in every AU or Azula’s character changes too much fundamentally for me. Just a preference thing. But Ozai could totally be on the right side of a conflict & still suck on an interpersonal level in an AU & I’d be down for exploring that.
Oh! Or what about a Descendants type AU? You know how the “heroes” realize they’re kinda wrong to banish the “villains” families & shun them by the end of the series & neither side is perfect? Something like that could also be cool although IDK Descendants is already basically Disney movie fanfic so maybe an AU of it couldn’t work for anything else 😂
Anyway yes! My thoughts are rambly I got nothing specific right now but I like your concept 😊

5 gc game: au where Izuku is Iida's cousin
1- Hiromi Midoriya, Inko's older sister, marries Tenari Iida, and has a son Tensei, who's the pride of the family. When Tensei is six, and Inko is sixteen, her and Hiromi's parents die, leading her to move in with her older sister's family while she finishes high school and gets started in college. That's when Inko decides she wants to have a kid one day too.
2- Inko marries Hisashi and has Izuku, and is delighted when her sister has another kid around the same time too. Little Izuku and Tenya are practically raised together for the first few years with how often they visit each other. But the Iidas... Don't quite love that, not exactly approving of Hisashi, and the gets worse after Izuku is found too be quirkless. They pressure Tenari to pull his family away, and he is convinced and Hiromi unsure if she can stop it- but Tensei, now the star debut hero Ingenium and the future of the family, puts his foot down in defense of his aunt and cousin.
3- Tenya and Izuku do end up around each other less anyway as they end up attending different primary schools- Tenya is sent to an expensive private one that Inko and Hisashi can't afford (and won't let Tensei pay for). But still, they are close, and see each other weekly at least. Tenya was honestly unsure and nervous about Izuku being a hero at first, but Tensei smiled and said that he knows Izuku can do it because he's kind, cool, and smart, and he's seen plenty of different types of heroes at Idaten. Tenya knows Tensei can never be wrong, so obviously Izuku and he can be heroes together!
(and if Tensei was just saying that to make a five year old kid not cry, well. That's his business)
4- Izuku doesn't tell Tenya about the bullying. Tenya doesn't tell Izuku that he wants to be an Idaten hero even if that means they don't work together. That puts some stress on them, but that's mostly what they worry about when on their own, forgetting their troubles when they train together.
Uh. Izuku also does not tell Tenya about OfA, which means the exam goes from excitement that they were in the same zone together to panicked as Tenya's cousin apparently explodes himself
5- the two of them don't hide that they're cousins in class, though neither bring up Tensei or Idaten except with each other. That changes very suddenly after the SF, both flooded with condolences. Izuku's grieving a lot himself, and he's furious at Stain, but he's spent too many years being told he's weak to have the misguided belief that he's strong enough to take him down himself. He knows what Tenya is thinking though, and as soon as he sees him put down "Manual", he panics.
Izuku doesn't even have an offer from Idaten with Tensei in the hospital, but he knows he has to stop Tenya. So he contacts Manual, apologizes, and asks if he could have an internship with his cousin. Manual, somewhere between pushover and people pleaser that he is, agrees.
All Might then shows up with the letter from Gran, and Izuku knows he should focus on OFA but... His cousin needs him. And he already agreed to go to Manual. All Might isn't sure if he feels relief or more stress, and passes that on to Torino.
This has the effect of:
Tenya very upset at his cousin not leaving him alone
Manual relieved that Izuku is not also there for vengeance, which lasts about half an hour until an old hero, Gran Torino, walks into his agency and announces he's here to help train both boys
Manual drags Gran out after the first hour of training to ask him what the hell he's doing, and Gran explains two things: one, he is the single most qualified person to teach Izuku to not blow up his bones, and two, he might also be the single most qualified person to keep Tenya from running out on a suicide vengeance quest, since he had to do that before with an even stronger, pissed off and broken hearted hero student. Manual throws his hands up and decides to roll with it, especially as they can hear Izuku in the other room trying to physically stop Tenya from escaping.

an au where afo doesn't know about skinny might and all might Takes Advantage of This somehow
Doctor Garaki makes an interesting comment one afternoon. An older quirkless man just moved into Musutafu, Yagi Toshinori. Interested, he tells the doctor to look a little deeper. There are no more quirkless people in the area, not other than his son. Either they'd been bought with quirks or he'd had the doctor use them as Nomu fodder (much better to use a clean canvas to paint your masterpiece).
"Oh! Oh oh oh! This is very interesting, Sensei. He's All Might's secretary." All Might was very foolish to keep a quirkless man so close to his side, when they could be so easily bought.
Toshinori is having a heart attack. He thought he might introduce himself to a local doctor just in case, but the man is. Creepy, to say the least. When he starts looking at him with a gleam in his eye, talking about a program run by a colleague of his to gift quirks to the quirkless hes suddenly been rudely informed that All for One isn't as dead as he thought.
In a move that will have everyone screaming at him later, he turns up the wet dog pathetic look and starts talking about how he would do anything for a quirk. Feeding All for One information about himself is a trip and he sorely wishes Mirai was still here to help him pick what to send.
When the doctor mentions his other quirkless patient, a young boy named Midoriya in a misguided attempt to assure Toshinori he's not quirkist, he misinterprets that as a threat against the boy's life.
This AU ends with Toshinori and Inko teaming up to take down All for One in an epic quest for vengence and child support. Izuku is so excited his favourite hero's secretary is here. Oh! Maybe he has a crush on his mum? He'd better help set them up!

How ironic, Belos.
You wanted to do good.
But look at you now.
Chill...
LIKE A VILLAIN, EVEN!
Tumblr media
The thing about Belos in the Shadow Puppets AU is that he doesn't have any delusions about being the hero. He went to the Demon Realm with a group of Witch Hunters to save his brother and his best friend. He became a Wendigo by eating the only other remaining member of that party, then he killed Caleb and he sacrificed tons of people to rescue Astrophel, and then asked Astrophel if he would help him destroy the Boiling Isles.
Heroes don't do that.
The only delusions he has is that he can fight or find a cure for his curse, and that he can prevent the same thing from happening to anyone else ( which the nature of the Wendigo curse means it could absolutely happen to Luz under the right circumstances ) by destroying the Isles, getting rid of every means of traveling between realms, and killing all it's inhabitants, except for the last Titan which he needs to free Astrophel. He has no intention of returning to the human realm, once he finds the Titan and frees Astrophel, his plan was to remain in the Demon Realm and let himself starve to death.
Philip tries to hold onto his humanity all throughout the AU but he really gave himself up as condemned as soon as he was cursed. At some point he quit fighting it and even Astrophel doesn't know when that happened because he was so caught up in his own misguided revenge fantasy that he didn't realize his enabling was hurting more than he was helping.

ARI IM BREAKING IN AND SHAKING YOU SO HARD RN. u think u could just drop those tags on my post AND LEAVE???!!!! im literally so giddy rn because u get it……u get it so bad
“knightly demeanour vs animalistic tendencies…gentle nature vs his violent actions” my knuckles are white im clenching my fist so hard rn because!!! ur so right there IS something just Off about the guy isnt there?? “simmering” UGH THATS SUCH A GOOD WORD like its there but it isnt so obvious at first because he truly believes hes a good person, fighting for a good cause, helping the weak, protecting vulnerable towns and villages!! but its also the fact that like that isnt really what hes fighting for deep down in his heart. im still messing with this but tell me what u think!! i think hes just the slightest bit misguided (by slight and bit i mean a lot❤️) and has no clue how to view his knighthood because he doesnt get to choose!! he doesnt get to choose who he has to raise his sword for and who he has to bend the knee for
BLARGG i got carried away but im so glad u liked the little drabble🫶🏽🫶🏽knight!sugu lives in my head rent free, im so glad someone else is crazy about him hes so hot
PEHJDJSJD MOSS????? ur making the brainrot worse pls stop 😭😭 this is gonna get extremely long i think just bear w me </3 god i adore ur take on him SO much i cant even explain it
moss. grabs ur shoulders. no because youre actually a genius. i was already sold but i never even considered how perfect a knight au is for suguru holy shit????? UR SO RIGHT. ALWAYS. he is ABSOLUTELY misguided and i think there are so many possibilities for his character in an au like this…
its so similar to his canon circumstances but also Not. and there’s that whole other factor of knighthood and honour thats so different from sorcerers because sorcerers can be (and SHOULD be) a little insane in the head but knights have to be Perfect. but then they also have to be Human and the tragedy is that u cant be both at once. (more on that later 🔥🔥 im normal abt this concept)
this is just my own take on sugu but!! i see him as like… Obsessively Moral. in the sense that he follows his own morals without thinking about anything else. almost destructively. and god moss the way that could translate into a knight au…..
just. suguru being born with so much empathy and strenght (and also that one simmering Thing that makes him a bit off) and immediately being recognized by the people around him. being branded a knight and given a sword to Protect people with. a purpose that he devotes himself wholly to, pledging himself to the protection of the people around him, and finding genuine satisfaction out of helping them (while also getting his kicks out of killing monsters bc it satisfies that one little simmering Urge he has). and the people love him and he loves them!!!
but then we get into the concept of knighthood (which im extremely normal about) and how fucked up and paradoxical it is. bc knights are supposed to Protect but also Kill. and they have to do both. suguru is given a sword to Protect people with but swords only do one thing and that is Kill. so how could he not get a little addicted to the way it feels?
its just sooo… messed up. honestly. knights are branded as heroes and saviors and theyre loved by all but deep down theyre more like dogs who have to lunge in whichever direction their superior throws a bone at. ”he doesnt get to choose who he has to raise his sword for and who he has to bend the knee for” <- LITERALLY THIS. he has to be obedient because knights are defined by Loyalty above all else and there are…. SO many ways that could fuck suguru up mentally.
him being seen as a Perfect Knight… having love for the people hes sworn himself to protect but also an undeniable love for violence…. and having no choice but to do what his king tells him to. its just bound to go wrong!! and when it does he’ll have no choice but to bear the blame alone bc thats what a good knight is supposed to do.
like im just imagining knight!sugu having a similar crisis to canon sugu in which he fails to protect someone, or has to sacrifice a certain amount of people to save more, or maybe just has to Kill something in a very gruesome way. and then slowly people turn their backs on him. maybe not entirely shut him out or anything, but now there’s this tension when he walks in and he sees a hint of fear in the eyes of the people he used to speak to so warmly.
and its just this nausea that he cant get rid of because hes spent his LIFE protecting these people. its all he knows. its what he was born for. and now theyre afraid of him? when he does nothing but devote himself to them? when all he ever did was save them over and over again? i can just imagine that contempt building up inside his stomach. slowly rotting.
and then suddenly all he can think is how ungrateful they are, how weaklings who cant protect themselves should just sit still and let him do it for them……. Yeah. i just think knight!sugu could be corrupted so easily because of how kind and moral he is (the traits that made him a Perfect Knight in the first place . throws up blood)
anyway all this just to say knight!sugu is genuinely the hottest sugu ive ever seen in my life not even kidding thank u for feeding me 🙏🙏🙏 i SCREAMED when i saw it in ur masterlist. if i saw him beat the shit out of a monster w his bare hands i would fold instantly and follow him wherever even if he went crazy and got banished <33 rip to the rest of the village but im different
