ok so I just made another post about this, but. consider. both Mike and Will get vecna’d in s5 somehow (even if it’s not a typical vecna-ing) and they’re trying to do what max did & go to their happiest memories. and they’re both running away from the most horrifying shit, running away from vecna’s mindscape, running away from vecna until they run right into eachother. they grab eachother in a desperate hug, not even thinking, just seeing eachother and knowing that they’re real and grabbing onto eachother.

and behind them are two kids on a swing set. one asks the other if he wants to be his friend. he says yes. older mike and will turn to eachother, and just stare at eachother because they’re realizing that this is the other’s happiest memory.

it’s the happiest memory that both of them have. the best thing both of them have ever done. and so even though they don’t have el’s mind-travelling-powers, they both end up together because it’s a shared memory.

bonus points if this all happens after Mike and Wil just got tormented by visions about the other hating them/dying.

Hell they’re both even coming from a partially boarded up window of an abandoned home and positioned at exact same angle relative to the shot 👀

So it’s immensely concerning that the byler cabin scene lighting where they’re talking about vecna wanting to kill everyone PARALLELS the lighting in Lumax death shot? Where Max is dying in Lucas’s arms?? Wtf.

So anyways Mike is gonna die in Will’s arms send tweet 🥲🖐🏻

I know it's petty of me, but I would love to see a moment in S5 that makes it clear to the GA that Mike isn't interested in El.

Perhaps in a Vecna vision a flashback to them kissing and Mike just looking extremely bored, repulsed, or uncomfortable in a shot that we didn't see previously

Like that scene in But I'm a Cheerleader when Megan is still dating a boy:

I mean, I know we (Byler Nation) saw this play out, but I think the GA needs it to be even more in your face for them to get it.

So that by the time Byler kiss happens, the difference will be so, so obvious.

I've been thinking about Yuri's ridiculous lie and why it's so specific, and when trying to figure out if it could be foreshadowing or a metaphor, this is the only thing that made sense to me. Mike is the only character that went on a "sight seeing trip," a trip for fun (unlike Joyce or the Cali road trip) and Mike, Will,and El are the characters associated with bears in past seasons.

I believe that this is more foreshadowing to Mike being in a low place from everything that went down in s4, and that contributing to him being a target of Vecna in s5.

Yuri laughing at the end and saying "I got you!" could be just the Duffers making fun of their own heavy handed metaphors and obviously the fact that Yuri is chaotic but it could also be foreshadowing to a "Mike is dead, the bears and bear claws/his feelings, conformity, and Vecna killed him.... jk he comes back, we got you!" moment in s5.

I need Mike to be screaming crying, giving an award-winning performance of sobbing in true pain, telling Will that he’ll “be okay” and that “he’s gonna get [him] out of here”,

then a voice interrupting Will’s death in Mike’s arms and revealing it to be the work of Vecna.

and when s5 starts with mike getting vecna'd and being told he's "right on time" in contrast to being late every other season, what then

“mikes reaction to will getting vecna’d” this “wills reaction to mike getting vecna’d” that ok but imagine nancy’s reaction to mike getting vecna’d since vecna showed her that vision with him along with her other family members dead 🫡

something i’d really like to see if mike gets vecna-ed and is being shown his worst fears is lucas rejecting him for his sexuality. mike looks to lucas more than any other character for how to act straightly, for approval in the way he’s acting. it’s most prevalent in s3.

he wants lucas to see him as “normal” and uses the way he acts as a guideline in s3. in s4, their conflict revolves around lucas trying to gain popularity and fit in more whereas mike can’t do the same due to his attachment to DND (will). in a way, mike is choosing to bring himself closer to will and it directly opposes lucas’ actions (in his mind). when lucas brings up wanting to not be made fun of by girls and not be bullied, mike seems dejected. dnd is very representative of mike’s connection to will and their relationship, so lucas distancing himself and seeking out more “normal” interests to get girls and avoid being bullied is probably showing mike that lucas would reject the way he feels about will. obviously, that isn’t true. it’s a fear of mike’s though, one that i think should be explored since lucas is so intrinsically tied to mike’s repression of his sexuality

LOOK AT THOSE TWO UPSIDE-DOWN BOXES OF PLASTIC WRAP. they may seem like nothing, but when you look closely, not only are they both upside-down, but they also both have “100″ written on them- but wait, what’s 100 written upside-down? 001. Henry/Vecna.  and they’re RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE LIKE YKNOW EXACTLY WHERE VECNA GRABS PEOPLE WITH HIS FREAKY DEATH CLAWS 

Ok so this amazing video edit about the possible foreshadowing from s4 of Mike getting vecna’d in s5 got me thinking:

During the realization scene at the end of s4 episode 3, where Max and co realize Vecna is targeting her; there’s a brief flashback of her getting a random nosebleed in class (the clip is also in the video I linked, go watch if you haven’t yet and then come back to this post lol)

It’s in a classroom while a lesson is in progress, so there should probably be extras at the edge of the shot right?

Wrong. The camera focuses solely on Max and her nosebleed, she’s front and center, which makes sense… except wait, there’s one other person the camera briefly pans over to right before it cuts to a different scene-

Think about it: doesn’t it feel kind of out of place for a scene about Max having symptoms of vecna’s curse to randomly add Mike of all people sharing the center of the shot, and to take extra camera time to pan over to him deliberately turning around to notice Max?

Because the more *I* think about it, the more I realize that it has to mean something; they could’ve just as easily have had only Max and her nosebleed in the shot, and the flashback would’ve still accomplished the immediate point that was trying to be made, or they could’ve even just put some random extra off to the side of the shot turning to look over if they were just trying to emphasize Max’s off behavior, but instead they put Mike in the scene: another main character that seemingly has no direct connection to this whole Max situation. Not only that, but they took extra time panning the shot over to draw our attention to Mike looking over at Max!!

Why do that?? This is film, everything we see onscreen is deliberately set up exactly the way the producers want the audience to see it. They *chose* to put Mike in a Vecna related scene (and right in the center of it with Max! Who is literally getting vecna’d!!) that plot wise he had no relevance to. And especially with Stranger Things, if a clearly deliberate choice feels random or slightly out of place, it’s almost always because it’s being used to hint at or communicate something else going on beyond what a scene or a dialogue line appears to be at surface level.

Not to mention that Mike and Max are literally the same person in two different fonts 👀

So, in conclusion: Mike is fucked and he better start running bc all signs point to him being a target in season 5, and I’m honestly so excited bc we’ll FINALLY GET TO SEE INSIDE HIS BRAIN AND KNOW WHAT HE’S THINKING

i think that if anyone is going to get vecna'd next season, its gonna be mike.

why? well max obviously already got vecna'd so its not gonna be her, dustin and lucas already went through something highly traumatic this season (eddie/max dying in their arms), so the clear choices would be will, el or mike. (who, excluding el, werent of much plot importance this season.)

i really dont think vecna would go for el because she has powers (clearly stronger than his) and he's already weak now so that would be rlly dumb and i just dont think he would go for the hardest choice. he may go for el once he grows stronger, but i think it would probably be in a different way.

so out of mike and will, why mike? wills been through so much, why not him?

well thats the thing. wills been through a ton in the show already, everyone knows he's had arguably the worst hardest experience with the ud, everyone in the audience knows this already.

max got vecna'd in s5, yes to advance the plot, but also so we could see how much she'd been struggling as of late. what would be the point of doing this for will? unless they wanted to kill him off, which i dont think they will (maybe its naïve of me but i think our boys gonna get his gay love story, finally), there wouldnt be much narrative significance to this.

however, mike getting vecna'd, FINALLY showing us his internal struggles, which the duffers have been purposely been keeping hidden all this time, would be great.

plus i think vecna, in his weakened state, would probably go for the easiest victim and i really do believe that thats mike. he's been shown to be willing to sacrifice his life for his friends, is clearly struggling with something (*cough* homosexuality *cough*) and would be a big impact on everyone if he was gone (bc hes the heart :( i will fight u on this). also vecna has been shown to want to get him out of the way sooo...

make sure you listen to boys dont cry and smalltown boy before they become the running up that hill of st5, you know damn well why
