Triwizard Tournament
Draco Malfoy, a Champion from Durmstrang discovers a goddess in the Black lake while walking.
Hermione was mesmerized by the man whose hair resembles the sun. ☀️
I was thinking what will happen in the second task since Draco is smitten by Hermione. 👀
He will be outside the Black Lake watching Hermione swims.
I offer you the not green skin of Hermione.

A Dramione AU where merman Draco Malfoy meets magical marine biologist, Hermione Granger. Her weekly visits go from strictly research to longing for his company. One day, Hermione accidentally drops her wand into the ocean and Draco finds it. Knowing little to nothing about magic, Draco messes with the wand and mistakenly transfigures into a sea otter! 🦦

On ao3, for @hpsaffics
Dark creatures lived in the murky depths of the Black Lake. Students were warned against entering its shallows. It was said that haunting singing could be heard, luring unfortunate victims. Every few years, a skeleton would float back onto the surface, increasing the rumors of man-eating lake monsters.
Hermione had read about the Black Lake before arriving at Hogwarts. What little she did know about the creatures that lived there fascinated her. She spent her free time at the edges of the lake, dipping her toes into the water. Having no friends, the lake was the one place she never felt alone.
On a chilly autumn morning, Hermione visited the lake, taking off her shoes and socks and dipping her toes into the water. Hiking up her robes, she walked further into the water. It was cool—not too cold or warm. She was knee-deep into the lake; this was the furthest she had been before.
She stood there, closed her eyes, and basked in the sun. Humming to herself, she enjoyed the water on her legs. Her shoulders relaxed, and she smiled. There was nothing to be concerned about when she was surrounded by the lake that so many people feared.
“Lalalala.”
Hermione looked around. Had she just heard singing? Where was it coming from? Hermione couldn’t see anyone near her. Instead of walking to land, she went further into the lake. It was instinct.
“Hello? Is someone there?” She waded in the water in circles.
“Lalalala.”
She whipped her head in the direction of the singing and saw something unimaginable. It was a girl naked from the torso up, with golden silk strands for hair and skin that glowed in the sun—almost iridescent.
“What are you doing out in the lake while undressed?” Hermione swam closer.
The girl didn’t answer, instead singing some more. Hermione felt a sense of urgency rising, like she needed to reach her or else something horrible would occur. Heart raising, breaths becoming shallow, she reached the naked girl.
Up close, the girl’s beauty was like nothing Hermione had ever seen before.
“Do you need help coming back on land?”
No response.
“I’m Hermione. What’s your name?”
No response.
A hand reached for Hermione and she did not move away, letting the girl touch her face. An unsettling smile grew on the girl's face. She leaned in and captured her lips with her own. Hermione was too surprised to respond.
She caught on and a tongue was in her mouth. It was her first kiss. She never thought she would be kissing a girl, especially a strange one that was naked in the lake. Hands brushed her shoulders, and it felt like she was sinking.
Hermione tried to break free from the kiss and pull away, but the girl’s strength was unbelievably strong. Holding her breath, she blinked in the water, trying to adjust her eye sight. The first thing she saw was a hideous face; it was a mix of a human face with scales and gills. Was this the girl who had stolen her first kiss?
She looked down and saw a tail that was three times the size of the mermaid’s torso. Hermione never thought she would meet one of the lake monsters, and now she was about to die at the hands of one of them.
The mermaid flashed hideously large and sharp teeth, and the sound she let out was like chalk on a board. Hermione winced and failed to escape her grasp. The creature lunged at her throat and Hermione screamed, the little air in her lungs escaping.
The bite wasn’t excruciating. It was almost arousing, but Hermione couldn’t enjoy it while her lungs were burning, begging for oxygen. Hermione tried hitting the mermaid on her chest, trying to tell her that she needed air.
The mermaid frowned, twisting her grotesque features. She pressed her mouth to Hermione’s and passed on a breath. It wasn’t enough. Hermione needed to be on land. She wasn’t a lake creature.
Hermione rolled her eyes back, and the last thing she saw was a worried expression on the mermaid's face.
She woke up, coughing up water. Her chest hurt, and her neck hurt.
“You gave me a fright, dear. What were you doing out in the lake? It’s forbidden to go in it for a reason.” Madam Pomfrey scolded her. “You’re lucky that Miss Parkinson came across you and immediately called for my help. You could have died, reckless child.”
Hermione laughed. She had survived an encounter with a creature of the lake. Why had she survived? She touched the bite mark on her neck.
She would have to find a way to breathe underwater and visit soon.
“Don’t you laugh. You’re in big trouble.”

LISTEN MOX AND NICK ARE WEIRD LITTLE CREATURES AND LIKE BEING WEIRD TOGETHER. i really did think it was crack-y 😂
I am old as BALLS so when I see someone say cracky I expect fourth wall breaking, hamsters as main characters, somebody romances a flower pot who rejects them verbally, a giant raccoon becoming god, levels of chaos. While yours was cracky, it was also weirdly realistic and that's what made it amazing. Seriously that was so good. I had a rough day surviving work, cuz I'm still so sick, so seeing that as I got in my car was like a reward for surviving the day. Thank you so much for writing it.

I watched The Little Mermaid 2023 and here's what I'll say to those who criticize the heroine of Halle Bailey. Against the background of Prince Eric's unnecessary and annoying mother, all the detractors of the heroine Halle Bailey switch to her in a moment. After watching the movie, I wanted Ursula to throw the prince's mother to the sharks. She is played by actress Noma Dumezweni. many people know her as the black Hermione Granger in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child". Rowling stood up for her and she betrayed her after being bullied because of trans people. And it's not surprising if the actress is like that in real life.
Against the background of this evil and smug bitch, the heroine of Halle Bailey at least arouses interest, sweetness and praise thanks to her acting and beautiful voice.

I understand people's discontent that the role of Halle Bailey is the opposite of the canon of the Little Mermaid character. But believe me, against the background of the fairy from Pinocchio 2022, Halle in the image of the Little Mermaid looks decent and cute.

Propaganda
Hermione Baddeley (Brighton Rock, Passport to Pimlico, Mary Poppins)— An absolute mainstay of British films from this period. She’s an icon who never takes shit from anyone in any of her movies, dresses for the occasion, and has the best line delivery! Also she started out in silent movies, and was a close friend of Noel Coward. In a desperate attempt to appeal to a large tumblr fandom, I will also point out that her first husband and one of her children were both called David Tennant. You like that name, don’t you tumblr??
Glynis Johns (Mary Poppins, The Court Jester)—LISTEN, I'd let that woman's voice with all its gravely hoarseness (positive) wash over me all goddamn day, but if that's not enough she managed to play the straight woman to Danny Kaye's jester, all with her cleavage so plunging it might as well have been catapulted into the ocean right after Basil Rathbone
This is round 1 of the bracket. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Glynis Johns propaganda:
Tumblr media
She walks the line between sexy and cute. Her best role for me is in "The Court Jester as Maid Jean. She's fantastic as the soft but tough captain of the outlaw band and she looks stunning in every gown she wears throughout the film. And of course we can't forget her iconic turn as the suffragette mother, Mrs. Banks, in Mary Poppins! Also shoutout to her distinctive and beautiful voice, kind of smoky and husky. Extremely hot and set her apart from many of her peers."
Tumblr media
"Listen, listen. I was raised on Mary Poppins and "Votes for women! (step in time)" single-handedly taught me how to be a feminist. Also The Court Jester is one of my favourite movies of all time and she is UNBELIEVABLY gorgeous, charismatic, funny, and clever in it. She knocks several men out. Absolute icon."
"Like Bette Davis she has eyes to die for. Unlike Bette Davis you felt comforted by them, even when she was batting her eyelashes at you. Would glady go to Downing Street with her and throw things at the Prime minister"
"She had this wonderful wit and charm to her no matter the role and the most distinctive, striking voice!"
Tumblr media
"She was amazing in Mary Poppins (the Suffragette song is severely underrated) and apparently she was Welsh? National pride! And she advocated for arts funding in Wales, which is very cool. Also, she died recently (RIP) making her one of the last survivors of the Golden Age of Hollywood, according to Wikipedia. Also also, she just has a cheeky energy I like? And her eyes are beautiful!"
"I mean, incredibly beautiful and talented, can do drama can do comedy. And she was a mermaid."
Tumblr media
"I love Glynis Johns. Most of the reason is The Court Jester where she's a sensible and capable foil to whatever what going on with Danny Kaye at the time. She was also the first star I based an OC on. An OC that I still have to this day! Anyway here have some YouTube links love u bye"

First Valentine's Day
Ron Weasley x reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Ron Weasley's first Valentine's Day at Hogwarts, filled with laughter, love, and magical moments.
****
In the hushed, frost-kissed corridors of Hogwarts, where whispers of magic and the echoes of laughter intertwined, a special day dawned. It was Valentine's Day, a time when even the most ancient stones of the castle seemed to pulse with the warmth of heartfelt confessions and the sweet nervousness of young love. For Ron Weasley, this day held a particular kind of magic, one that had nothing to do with spells or potions. This year, he wasn't just Ron, Harry Potter's loyal sidekick, or the sixth Weasley child. He was yours, and you were his, a fact that filled his heart with a blend of pride and nervous anticipation.
The morning found Ron pacing the common room, his palms sweaty and his mind racing. He had planned everything to the last detail, inspired by a story he had heard from Fred and George, albeit with a gentler, more personal touch, knowing well the difference between a prank and a gesture of affection. He had wrestled with his nerves, a bouquet of flowers in one hand—charmed to stay fresh and fragrant—and a box of Honeydukes' finest chocolates in the other, their contents a mystery even to him, hoping they would suit your taste.
You found him there, amidst his pacing, a smile playing on your lips at the sight. "Ron," you called out, your voice a soothing melody against the backdrop of his frantic heartbeat.
He turned, his face lighting up like the dawn. "Hey," he managed, voice cracking slightly, the simplicity of the greeting belying the depth of his emotions. "Happy Valentine’s Day," he said, thrusting the gifts towards you with a mix of eagerness and bashfulness.
Your laughter, light and genuine, filled the room, easing the tension from his shoulders. You accepted his gifts, admiring the flowers before opening the box of chocolates, each piece crafted with care, an assortment of flavors that spoke of thoughtfulness and a desire to please.
"Thank you, Ron. They're beautiful," you said, your eyes meeting his, a spark of shared joy dancing between you.
Encouraged, Ron took a deep breath, his next words tumbling out in a rush. "I thought, maybe, you'd like to go for a walk around the lake? I mean, it's cold, but it's also kind of nice out, and I thought—it might be nice. Together."
Your agreement was immediate, the promise of shared solitude more appealing than any crowded celebration.
As you both strolled, bundled in your scarves and coats against the chill, the conversation flowed more freely, touching on everything from the mundane to the magical, each word weaving a tighter bond between you.
At one point, Ron, in a burst of bravery fueled by the day's significance, reached for your hand. His fingers were cold but his grasp was warm, firm yet gentle. "You know," he began, a hint of mischief in his voice that belied his nervousness, "Fred and George once tried to convince me that the giant squid in the lake was actually a disgruntled mermaid transformed by a botched potion."
You laughed, squeezing his hand in return. "And did you believe them?"
"For about a minute," Ron confessed, his ears turning a shade redder, "until Hermione overheard and gave me that look of hers. You know the one. Makes you feel like you've lost a few dozen IQ points just by being in the same room."
The image of Hermione's exasperated expression brought another round of laughter, echoing softly across the lake's frozen expanse. The ease with which Ron shared stories, including those that poked fun at himself, endeared him even more to you. It was a vulnerability, a willingness to share his unguarded moments, that made the day feel even more special.
As the path wound closer to the water's edge, you both stopped to admire the view. The lake, a mirror to the sky above, reflected the cotton-candy hues of the setting sun. It was a breathtaking sight, one that lent an air of magic to the moment.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" you murmured, leaning slightly against Ron.
He nodded, his gaze not on the lake but on you. "Yeah, it is," he said, the depth of his feelings clear in his eyes. Then, taking a deep breath as if mustering his courage, he added, "You know, I've been coming to this lake since first year, but I've never seen it quite like this. It's like... being with you makes everything seem... better. Brighter."
Your heart fluttered at his words, the honesty and raw emotion in his voice striking a chord within you. "Ron, I feel the same way. Being with you, it's like finding a piece of myself I didn't know was missing."
For a moment, there was silence, save for the gentle lapping of water against the shore and the distant calls of birds returning to their nests. Then Ron, with a tentative yet hopeful smile, leaned in closer. "So, does this mean we can make this a tradition? You know, coming here every Valentine's Day?"
The question, asked with such hopeful earnestness, brought a smile to your lips. "I'd like that," you answered, your voice soft but filled with promise.
As the walk came to a close, Ron found a secluded spot, a private oasis amidst the vast grounds of Hogwarts. He turned to you, his blue eyes shining with a mixture of affection and earnestness. "I'm really glad I get to spend today with you," he said, the words heavy with sincerity. "I know I'm not the best with words, or... well, a lot of things, but being with you makes me want to be better. For you."
Your heart swelled at his admission, the simplicity of his words more precious than any grand declaration. You stepped closer, closing the distance between you, and whispered, "You don't have to be anything more than you are, Ron. You're already more than enough for me."
And in that moment, with the fading sunlight casting a golden glow around you, Ron leaned in, his kiss a sweet affirmation of the feelings you both shared, tender and hesitant, yet full of promise. It was a perfect reflection of your first Valentine's Day together—simple, genuine, and utterly unforgettable, a cherished memory in the making, set against the backdrop of the magical world that had brought you together.
As the day faded into evening, with stars beginning to twinkle in the sky like countless tiny lanterns, you and Ron made your way back to the castle, hand in hand, hearts full.

Dark/Evil Tom Recs for Tomione
I was pulling this list for someone on discord and thought I’d share here too. Please mind the tags and be aware that these are DARK Tom stories. Yes they’re Tomione but they probably won’t have happy endings.
The Darkness Sings to Her by Ariel_Riddle (E, Mermaid AU, 6K)
Summary:
She was always watching him.
From beneath the cover of the water, or from behind a rock a ways from the shore, she would find herself lurking behind the waves and sneaking surreptitious glances whenever she could.
King of Nothing by NinjaFairy (E, Cruel Prince AU, 7K)
Summary:
As a child, strange creatures visited me. The left me gifts, sung me songs; they adored me. One day, an odd boy arrives and vows his revenge on me, then vanishes without a trace. Years go by, and on Samhain night, I wake up to a fey nightmare. I will do anything to survive this labyrinth. Anything. I wonder if he knows that.
[Tomione. The Cruel Prince AU.]
The Heir From District 2 by PenelopeGrace (E, Hunger Games AU, 16K)
Summary:
They thought he would win.
Hunger Games AU + District 2!Tom Riddle + District 12!Hermione Granger
Murky Waters by Nekositting (E, psychological thriller, 28K)
Summary:
“Do I frighten you?”
Lips pressed against her ear, an arctic wind settling over her spine. It drained her of her warmth, left her with nothing but the chill its words only could evoke in her.
“Good—”
Hermione’s vision swam, the constant flow of water along her back dissipating into nothing. It was as if she’d been stripped bare. Unmade in that moment. She was only consciousness, only a mind wading through the nebulous unknown.
“—Remember this fear, Hermione.”
