cop/criminal thing i started in 2022

so first off theyre gay

secondly the main characters are noah (cop) and river (criminal) and they went to college together for awhile until river dropped out and yk went to jail after doing smth (idk what yet)

but noah gets called to a crime scene where there was like a violent drug exchange and river is there, lurking (like a creep) and he recognizes noah and they get into a fist fight while noahs trying to beat the info out of him

summary: Ran starts to gather pieces of his puzzle even barely has any piece of it, he could see a glimpse of the final picture. He has never been taught not to play with his food when he was a child and he never did unless the food feels stale and tasteless on his tongue. word count — 2,6k.

summary: Ran's heart starts to unwind, starts to overlook all the possibilities of obstacles he might face to have you. With his heart in a bind, he starts to seek ways to connect, ways to have you, see you, taste you, feel you. word count — 1,6k.

summary: There is a jinx that Ran heard when he was eight years old, from his nanny. "You lose the people with whom you share your handkerchief." Now, he is not much of a superstitious person but when he saw his favorite handkerchief in the fist of his father who was intimately clung by his mother in the newspaper picture, he started to believe; he started to experiment word count —1,1k.

summary: It has been almost half of another month since his last encounter with you. Ran has thought of his second encounter with you way too many times that it lies heavy on his eyelids, on his fingertips, creating goosebumps on his skin. It tingles his soul. He replays that particular memory in a loop until he gets drunk on it, until he gets what he is promised. word count —0.7k.

(Modern AU) Scaramouche x Fem!Reader

And so came the wedding day. Scaramouche wearing a beautiful black suit, with a red tie and a white shirt underneath. He was waiting impatiently for the wedding to start, and most importantly, you.

Here comes the bride starts playing on the piano. He immediately looked across the aisle to finally take a look at you with your beautiful wedding gown.

You looked stunning. You were gorgeous. Absolutely majestic. Your beautiful white bride gown fit you so perfectly and the veil covering your face made Scaramouche want to take it off of you more and kiss you passionately.

You held your bouquet of flowers, white roses, baby's breath, and tulips.

Needless to say, Scaramouche was just stunned and speechless by your beauty. He had always dreamt of this moment, and he really couldn't believe this was happening right now. You walk through the aisle and towards Scaramouche. Klee and Qiqi being the flower girls and spreading them across the red carpet.

You finally get face-to-face with Scaramouche. Both of you facing each other as the priest announces the wedding ceremony starts right now. You and Scaramouche's heart starts to pound faster. You couldn't help but smile at the moment, and so could he.

"Scaramouche, do you take (name) for your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I do."

"(Name), do you take Scaramouche for your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"...I do."

"You may now kiss the bride!" The priest announces.

Scaramouche takes off the veil off your face and holds you by your waist before kissing you passionately and sweetly. The audience applauding as you both kiss for what seems like an eternity.

...

Scaramouche woke up from his dream. Oh. It was just a dream.

He slept beside you the whole time in the uncomfortable hospital bed, holding you in his arms. He looks at the ring he proposed to you with and smiles. He looks at your resting face, an oxygen mask over your mouth. He gently caresses your hand and wakes you up.

You open your eyes and see Scaramouche staring at you lovingly. You can't help but smile like how you did in his dream.

"How was your sleep?" He asks as he moves his hand to caress your head.

"..It was okay." You rest your head on his chest.

"Mmh." Scaramouche smiles at you. Currently enjoying this moment, but the smile on his face disappears as the thought of losing you at any moment right now floods his mind.

"Kuni...? Are you okay..?" You were worried for him. Even though you should be worried for yourself. The way his thoughts seem to be right about the fact he could lose you at any moment infuriates him. Right until he hears your voice, he calms down.

"I am. You're too sweet for this world." He pinches your cheek and he chuckles. You laugh with him as he pinches your cheek.

"Kuniii, I have just one simple wish."

"Well, what would that wish be my love?"

"Kiss me."

His eyes widen. No, he wants to kiss you obviously. But he can't. You have an oxygen mask over your mouth and removing it is highly dangerous.

"I would love to but-"

"Then kiss me."

You pleaded him. You were desperate.

"I'd rather die while I kiss you, you know? I'd die for you to see you happy."

"But what if you're the only person who makes me happy?"

"..."

Silence. You didn't know what to respond with that. It made you happy knowing your presence alone makes him happy. But you didn't know what to say.

"I don't want to lose you, and if you die, I want it to be peaceful. I don't want you to go through an agonizing pain. Please.." His voice when he said please sounded hoarse, like he was gonna cry. "I don't want you to die. Please, stay with me?"

"I'm sorry, I love you."

"I love you more, but answer the question, please."

"...You know you're a puppet Kuni.. I'm a human. You can't just possibly-"

"I don't care! I just want you to stay with me. Please. Please please please... Don't leave me.."

"I'm sorry.."

You both started crying and he held you tighter in his arms. He gently kisses your forehead.

"A-About my wish.."

"I don't want you gone any sooner."

"I want to die happy. And seeing you happy makes me happy."

Scaramouche sighs and moves his hand from your waist to grab your chin and look up at him.

"I don't want to lose you so soon." He shakes his head.

"What if I suddenly die an agonizing death because of this stupid illness? Wouldn't it be sweeter to die as you hold me in your arms and kiss me the most passionately I've ever had in my life?"

"I know. I just don't want you gone. I won't be able to move on from you. Please, don't be my fourth betrayal." Scaramouche pleads.

"But you'd be betraying me if you didn't fulfill the very last wish I'd wanted in my life, right?"

"You're so stubborn. But I love that about you. I... I love you with my entire being, (name)."

You bring a hand up to his face and wipe the tears off his face. "I love you too, Kuni. I always will. I love you with my soul."

Scaramouche brings an arm back to your waist.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes. It would be the most peaceful."

"What would I tell the doctors?"

"Just tell them it flat lined. Because that would really be what would happen, won't it? So just ignore the heart monitors sounds and kiss me, put your whole life and heart into it."

Scaramouche, he hesitantly puts a hand over your oxygen mask. He moves his face closer to yours and sees you smiling and blushing like a little girl. Seeing how happy you are and how you really wanna go through with this, he removes the oxygen mask and kisses you passionately, for the last time in your life. And for the last time, he would ever kiss anybody at all.

An entire minute passes, tears flow down your face as your lungs feel heavy and tight. But you were crying mostly from pure joy from this. Scaramouche moves his free hand to the back of your head and caresses it, then he gently moves your head towards him to deepen the kiss.

You struggle to keep your eyes open, you didn't want to close your eyes. But your own eyes and life was giving up on you. You both continue on with the kiss.

Scaramouche sobs for the first time again in years as he hears your heart monitor flat line.

i like to think of myself as the second coming of christ when it comes to making playlists right, and i have this completely reasonable in length young royals playlist and i feel like i nailed it, in terms of the general vibe of the show AND scene specific themes.

ANYWAY, the reason i'm bringing it up is because i think there are a few songs that are very season specific that are in there.

season 1: visions of gideon by sufjan stevens

I KNOW everyone and their mother would agree that this song is very tragically wilmon.

giving very much episode six, when simon and wille were saying goodbye just before wille left for the palace. even though simon was being reassuring, comforting and encouraging (calling him brave, saying the royal court couldn't force him to do something he didn't want to do), wille (imo) didn't seem to believe him. and i think the way they kissed just made it seem like wille had already made his mind up, even though he said that he wouldn't lie about the video. it felt like he knew he was going to do it, and that it would inevitably be the end of the relationship, hence the lyrics being "i have loved/touched you for the last time."

season 3: too many to name.

heaven by mitski. these fuckers were so in love this season, it was quite sickening (/affection). thinking about season three wilmon makes me want to cry, ignoring their communication issues, and other things that had a negative impact on their relationship.

a part of that by anna kendrick. HERE ME OUT. so, the song is from the movie adaptation of the play "the last five years" and anna's character, kathy, is watching her husband succeed and do all these amazing things in his life and is wondering where she fits into all of it. in season three and maybe the whole series, there's the topic of where the big five fit into the society or positions they're placed in and their positions in each other's lives. wille's struggle w/the monarchy and wanting out, august wanting in (for example).

there are a lot of songs that could encompass the show. capable of love. literally any loyle carner song about struggling with your identity and familial relationships and breaking cycles (polyfilla). sufjan stevens (mystery of love, everything that rises). so on and so forth. but wilmon and the young royals are not one dimensional enough to be described by one or eighteen songs, they're a whole catalogue. that playlist on paper is the most random thing i have ever crafted because fo&o, boygenius and brockhampton have no right to be in the same playlist, but hurt like we did, cool about it and any way want me absolutely deserve to be together; in a cool way, i think that's literally what simon and wille are like: on paper, they don't make sense. the crown prince of sweden, white and privileged and a gay brown boy from a small town who just happens to be an antimonarchist, but if you take that all away, they're two boys trying to find their place in the world, making mistakes.

Hey Flans, I've been mulling over this in the back of my mind basically since I heard the Murray Head version of "Heaven On Their Minds" on the pre-show playlist at the Bowery Ballroom shows in January, but it finally hit me that I could just pop in here and ask—what goes through your mind when you're popping songs onto the pre-show and intermission playlists? I'm always delighted by all of it, and I think I come away from every one of your shows with at least a few new songs that I add to my own playlists (another one from January was Bruno Mars's "After Last Night," what a groovy track), but it's always such an eclectic and surprising array of music. Is there any particular sort of sound or vibe that you're shooting for?

JF: I am not exactly sure how to answer the question. It is kind of a "medium energy" balancing act for the walk in music--you want to keep people "up" but not too up because they might be standing for over an hour and it might wear folks down. And for the most part I avoid the more hi energy disco/electronica/"bangers" that are going to make some people feel claustrophobic hearing while in a crowd, although I'll slip one in every ow and then. I'll draw on a different kinds of pop music, but looking at a list it is clearly about half songs from the 60s and 70s, which is kind of my home base musically, but from a variety of genres.

I do want to help frame the show by playing what isn't in the show. Female voices, New Orleans party music, Irish music, funk, some uptempo folk like the Kossoy Sisters. When we didn't have horns, I probably leaned more on horn-driven songs, whether it's Perez Prado or Tower of Power or Ozomotli, but now that we have so many horn driven things, those kind of tracks aren't in the mix. I guess I'm avoiding big hit songs, just because whether it's oldies or current radio, we are all programmed by "hits". Waiting in an environment that isn't just playing a soundtrack of super-familiar songs before we go on some how seems like it's going to open people up to a show of less-heard songs...

The "between set" list is often more focused on songs that seem extra bold, and can be higher energy. I started putting Waiting Room by Fugazi right at the top of that playlist, just because it's a funny to song to play for people who are now clearly being forced to wait. I love the songs Doomscrollers by Quasi and My Northside Girl by JD McPherson and My Husband by Mitski, and those songs seem to generate a lot of curiosity from people--although I think I might have played the last two too much. And I do slip in I Touch Myself by the Divinyls and Just a Friend by Biz Markee--both of which have kicked of spirited sing alongs which is always fun.

CARMELA LORE!!! I don’t know if she’s interesting to you but uhm mitski started playing so i must share her loreee (abuse is mentioned btw just letting you know just in case!)

So she grew up with her mum Carmela and her dad Daniel and she took both of their last names (carmela is Venezuelan)! And fun fact!! Her parents are teen parents, both of them being 16-17 (maria was turning 17). So the two had an ok relationship, what do you really expect from two teens who had to get married the moment they could thanks to their parents (having kids out of wedlock and stuff)/lh. Daniel definitely didn’t do much, since he’d been told by his dad (and mum) that it wasn’t his job to take care of his kid, like in the actual taking care not just the socialising and talking to the kid if that makes sense. BUT AS THE TWO GROW UP!! They start to get a relationship that I could only describe as Me and My Husband by Mitski (with hands thrown- if that also makes sense sjdgsj)

So over time, Maria ended up leaving to go the city since she wanted to study medicine! And she planned to take Carmela with her but stuff got in the way! (Daniel. He got in the way) So she ended up leaving anyways (OMG WAIT PARALLELS WITH JANETTE ok don’t mind me finding parallels with my oc lore) without Carmela- which Carmela did not understand at 11 years old so she thought her mum was just leaving. And then speeding forward to when Carmela is 16 (the time during her mum leaving and now was not good especially with her dad- she has a bruise across her neck if that indicates anything- uhm SORRY I JUST REALISED HOW DARK THAT IS UH)

In short her mum comes back to the town, her guilt also catching up to her, makes friends with Janette since they find they have a lot in common, Maria ends up in the cult even though Janette tries to stop her from joining. Maria becomes very heavily devoted (?) to the cult meaning when Janette needs to find someone that isn’t Oliver to do the cult ritual, she happily offers up her daughter Carmela! (who is reeling from her mum showing up and her mum trying to apologise) Also the reason Maria is so devoted to the cult is because they are very good at catering to the person’s needs (maria’s being somewhere to stay)

also the last time maria saw carmela, she was presenting as a boy (transssss) so thats another box for her (carmela) to unpack
