Me: ...
My Brain: Maybe she is cursed to lose her human form because she failed to complete a previous quest?
Me: You know I can't write action scenes.
My Brain: Maybe she shows up as a human in his dreams like the guy who teaches you sword moves in Twilight Princess.
Me: But what are they questing for?
My Brain: Maybe the reason she failed her quest and got cursed is cause she helped Luke and it screwed her over.
Me: This isn't a plot, it's just an interesting dynamic!
My Brain: And then she's all like "I will never love again," but of course they get together.
Me: But what are they questing for?!

Yesterday I was thinking about the oneshot which is based on The Fall from the Heavens being a script for a film or tv show, and Aemond and Rheanys being characters who play a role. Okay. So something amazing (read: positively insane and I hate it) is happening with my post season 5 fic that has never happened with my writing before. Normally I'm of one of two minds when it comes to writing. I have a basic scenario and I just really want to throw a bunch of different events in regardless of how they'd fit together or how much sense they'd make (which is why I quickly pick up a time loop idea, spin it around a few times and then chuck it away because I know I'll never want to put it all down. Yes I have a plot bunny where Faybon gets groundhog day'd *coughs* month *cough* but you'll never see it.)
The second is generally what my longer running stories operate on. I have a start in mind, I have an end in mind and I take forever trying to meet all the tourist destinations along the way. Now a while ago I joked about how I needed to move the entire route because of a stray thought I had. It happens, that's normal, I'm a slave to my creative urges no biggie.
No, the problem is what JUST happened. Where my brain just went "hey you know that big twist ending you had that I already made twistier? How it basically goes like this?" *Brain proceeds to list our all the story beats that lead to the big twist.*
Me: "yeah, I admit it's a neater twist. What about it?"
Brain: "and you know how you're about to write another story beat of that right this moment?"
Me, suddenly a little worried: "Yeah?"
Brain: "well what if the story beat DIDN'T go like that and instead THIS *presents new idea* was the big ending twist."
Me, extremely thankful that I haven't written anything that would contradict this yet: "oh this is going to screw so many things up..." *Starts writing with that new ending in mind.*

Broke: Gritty and edgy horror reboots of Winnie the Pooh due to him being public domain.
Woke: A grounded take on Winnie The Pooh depicting Christoper Robin as a mundane boy befriending a mundane Eurasian Brown Bear. It’d be a classic “Boy befriends Wild Animal” kind of story.
Bespoke: If you HAVE to do an edgy take on Winnie the Pooh; a WWII setting focusing on an adult Christopher, loosely inspired by the IRL Christopher Robin Milne’s time as a sapper. If Winnie is included, he’s yet again a mundane brown bear that befriends Christopher in a story along the lines of Wojtek.
It’d be an angst with a happy (or bittersweet) ending as a traumatized soldier reconnects with his innocence and optimism as he befriends this bear, in the face of all the horror they witnessed.

My Brain: NO! More Stardew Valley!
Me: You already had more Stardew Valley. We set a timer for an hour, then gave ourselves an extra 30 minutes after that, remember? It’s bedtime now.
My Brain: I didn’t get to play a lot of Stardew Valley today though!!!!
Me: Well SOMEONE played it for almost 22 hours after we bought it the day before yesterday, keeping us up for over 36 hours. So, we could have had more Stardew Valley time today, but unfortunately we were UNCONSCIOUS for 12 and a half hours, and that cut into Stardew Valley time.
My brain: And we could stay awake for 48 hours if you weren’t being a pussy.
Me: We talked about the basic plot of HORSE MOVIES to our MOM and laughed so hard we CRIED.

Something of An Update:
I’ve been off tumblr and Ao3 for a hot second. And honestly I’m not sure when I’d even consider writing something new or adding to existing stories. So another indefinite hiatus? I’ve been fighting a waning hyperfixation with my mind becoming way more preoccupied with irl things rather than the diverting drama of the GFFA. But who knows?
This doesn’t mean anything is actually abandoned. There are drafts and notes and outlines for future chapters of extant stories on Ao3. It’s just a pause for the mental health and a preoccupation with other things. I still enjoy writing and handing off my imagination for a few seconds, but things do come up and change does like to whisk me away on some other endeavors. I’m still so heartily grateful for everyone that’s taken the time to read and comment on the products of the inner workings of my mind. Authors aren’t actually lying (or exaggerating) when they say it gives them life. Even now that I’ve been away, I still had some to catch up on that made me smile!
