10. “….Should I be concerned?” + sunaosa [466 words]
Suna scrapes the bottom of the skillet with his overworked sponge. His brain feels kind of fuzzy and his eyelids are heavy, but he’s got of lot of stuff left to do. He makes eye contact with the sorry excuse for a sunny side up egg on the dining table; it, too, has become scrambled somewhere along the way. Suna's never felt so betrayed.
The stains are a stubborn son of a bitch, and Osamu only has so many skillets in his apartment. Suna isn’t usually a fan of limited variety and choices, but it’s working out for him today. Any more, and the clean up might be worse than the time Atsumu conned him into helping Osamu after Onigiri Miya’s grand opening.
He soaps up this one spot in particular for the fourth time: longing to put it in the drying rack; to move onto the next two; to be granted salvation for all the selfless suffering he’s putting himself through.
“…Should I be concerned?” Osamu’s sleep-ridden voice asks from the kitchen entrance, scaring the ever loving fuck out of him. Suna swerves around, immediately sliding his legs apart, trying to block the crime scene with his body. His heart is running a marathon and his earlier drowsiness is completely gone.
Suna doesn’t pray often, and he’s quickly coming to the conclusion that God has a vindictive sense of humour-
“NO!” Shit shit shit, he threw subtlety out the window. Oh fuck it. “Nope, nothing going on here.” Scrambling for something else to say, he tries to deflect. “What’re you doing here?”
“Gettin’ a glass of water.” Osamu squints at him in suspicion. He doesn’t say anything, but his silence does the heavy lifting for him. Breaking the silence, he offers, “Do ya want a hand with, er, whatever you’ve got going on?”
Osamu might be the love of his life but right now Suna needs him the hell out of it. His cheeks are on fire and it’s not from the normal gooey feelings Osamu makes him feel.
“I got it, you go back to sleep,” he licks his lips. Taking large steps, he quickly turns Osamu around and shoos him back to their room. The asshole goes along with it, but not without his shoulders betraying his amusement. Suna firmly ignores it for the sake of his pride.
Trusting Osamu to walk the rest of the way by himself, Suna darts back in and out of the kitchen. He shoves the glass of water into Osamu’s hands, pushing him into their room, and slams the door shut for him.
Suna rests his back against their door for a moment. He was so caught. Suna chances a peek at their kitchen from where he is. Fuck.
Maybe he’ll order takeout for Osamu’s breakfast instead.

Hey Maz, all this talk about how "Claremont said this", "Claremont said that" and the selective memory his fans have for only one of the two to win arguments got me to remember a big Claremont fan who back in the day (2009) had a whole blog where he went over every hanging and abandoned plot thread Claremont wrote in his OG run and tried to piece together either whatever intended conclusion he seemed to be heading for with what clues were left behind or come up with his own by connecting the dots (he also talked about plotholes in X-Men Forever/X-Men The End and tried fixing them). At some point, he got to the question about Nightcrawler's parentage and came to the conclusion that Claremont's 2nd original plan couldn't have worked or been intended from the start with everything that was set up previously by Claremont himself in his whole creative process. He had three arguments :
1) The X-Men Annual where we got Nightcrawler's adoptive family (he theorized that this is where Claremont's original plan of having Nightmare be his father was going to be revealed). The Eye of Agamotto, which only shows the truth, got used before to prove that Nightcrawler wasn't a demon and in this issue, it showed his entire backstory down to the moment where Margali rescued him as a baby when he was an hour old. He explained that we have no reason to think the Eye's faulty or tampered with in any way, as such we should consider everything it shows to be true (and not be the result of an elaborate trick) including Nightcrawler being indeed "found beside his dying mother" (I checked my own paper issue and yeah that's actually what's written down). So by the time Nightcrawler is 21 (Nightcrawler's Inferno happened on his birthday/adoption day), his biological mother has been dead for 21 years and should not be around in the story
2) In 1983, Lady Grey and Mastermind chased Mystique in a dream sequence within Mystique's mins where the narrator (aka Claremont) dropped through elaborate prose Mystique's actual birth year. Her age at the time of that story would have been just 30... Nightcrawler's inferno happened when Kurt was 21 (another fan explained to the blogger that this could have been an abandoned origin idea for Mystique as Claremont retconned that age and birth year reveal some time later)
3) The way Mystique's gender identity and her powers were written as and described in interviews as well as the way she acts in regards to Nightcrawler. Female in base form and powers that are shapeshifting on a cosmetics only level. Cannot create matter and had to shift already existing cells around. Had difficulty maintaining some shapes like Nick Fury because he was taller than her. Mystique had difficulty killing a robot replica of Nightcrawler made by Arcade but decided to train harder so she would be ready to kill him any day to "rescue" Rogue from the X-Men. (I remember the blogger sounding genuinely confused at this part because with the "original intent" in mind, this means Mystique was ready to kill her own biological son to "rescue" her adoptive daughter... Which doesn't make sense)
The fan brought up that in 1984, when Nightcrawler recounted to Amanda and angsted about what the Eye showed, instead of talking about a "dying mother", Amanda suddenly talks about a "dying father/man" (who the Eye of Agamotto never showed or mentioned) as if Claremont is trying to retcon the "dying mother" part introduced in 1980
He also brought up that what Mystique said to Nightcrawler in Days of Future Past not only implies she knows Margali Szardos but that Margali knows her too, implying that they met in person at some point
Anyway, the blogger's name was Nathan Summers I think on world press ? He was one of the only objective Claremont fans I've seen back then, sad he no longer posts anything, completely dropped off the face of the Earth
This is interesting I really wish we has an archive or something of this blog so we could go back and read it. I think the wildest thing to me here is Mystique apparently not even originally being ancient or even Nightcrawler's mother which I thought was always the intention as Cockrum had that idea back even before Nightcrawler was a X-Men character for the legion of Superheroes at DC.

Mirri never killed Rhaego. She explicitly told everyone to stay out of the tent and Jorah, idiot that he is, disobeyed. Dany knows this and chose to give her the most excruciating death anyway. (Which is still wrong even if Mirri planned this.)
Jorah wasn't there when Mirri said that, which you would know if you had read the chapter, which you didn't. It was a tragic coincidence, one that Mirri specifically wished for since the beginning in order to take revenge. She wanted Drogo and his child gone, she explicitly stated that in the end ("The stallion who mounts the world will burn no cities now. His khalasar shall trampleno nations into dust") and she pursposefuly withheld crucial information from Dany in order to mislead her. Dany was the only person who actually cared for that woman and this is how she payed her back. Understandable, but Dany's fury is also understandable. I am sorry that you are too biased to see that. This is a story that is filled with violence and apparently it's not your cup of tea, I would advise you to find something more light-hearted to read.
This has been a good occasion for me to re-read Dany's chapters there and can I just say that these are some of the best written, most heart-breaking moments in this series. Dany seeing herself through Rhaegar's helmet, if I look back I'm lost, the red door, the entire dream/nightmare sequence basically.

he's decent at it, i'd say. won't burn anything (not on purpose at least), and will make something filling with whatever he finds in the fridge. or at least tries to. it has to do with his upbringing and home; he just doesn't care much what he eats as long as it's edible and doesn't taste too horrible for human consumption lol. this is true across most of his verses, because he's always moving from one place to another so he can't be picky about the choices presented to him. whenever he's with the resistance/alliance/normandy crew, it's rations or whatever they have at the mess. that is, if he remembers to eat in the first place.
but when he does get the chance to cook, he always keeps his space clean. there aren't really any specifics to his method, tbh. they're rather simple: he gathers his ingredients in one spot on the counter or whichever clean surface available, preps them, throws all the trash right away after he's done so there's not a lot to deal with later, then gets to cooking. sometimes he hums a tune or two or sings a snippet of a song under his breath. he's more comfortable doing everything alone though since that's how it's been for him for a long time.
and if anyone thinks they want him to impress them through cooking, they have sooo many other options to pick from. he'd only disappoint them lmao.

❝ ... hi. ❞ maz stands uncomfortably at amara's doorstep. her mask is off, currently worn to the side of her head. she figured that if amara saw her girlfriend's face, all of this would be easier to process.
❝ i'm sorry i stopped responding to your emails, and missed that date we were suppose to have when you got back. i was kinda preoccupied with... uh, all of this— ❞ she gestures to herself. bright green eyes had been replaced with a foggy grey, and her already-pale skin was now in an eternal state of pallor mortis. the hedgehog looks like she belongs in a grave, and yet here she was. in maz's arms are a bouquet of otherworldly blue flowers, and a black gift basket tied with a bow. in the basket was a set of measuring spoons and cups, an assortment of small spice jars that were filled with herbs and spices grown in mazin village, and a necklace with a heart shaped pendent, the middle of the pendant sporting a jewel that seemed to shift unnaturally.
❝ —but, i wanted to stop by, and wish you happy birthday. ❞ despite her straight-faced expression, maz's words come out more nervous than she would have liked. it's clear she's expecting the worst, in terms of amara's reaction.

Out of all the people and mobians, Amara did not expect to see her girlfriend to visit her farm for her birthday. To see her lover's pale face, yet the expression is oh so familiar and then looking at the gifts and opening each thoughtful item one by one. Then as she stops to see the pendent which looks so precious and felt her eyes welled up in tears. Trying not to cry and not to regret that she could have done something sooner.
This isn't Nikki. Yet, The sentiment and love in each gift is there.
Trying to find the words to express herself, yet nothing came out of her mouth. With no other choice, she happily puts on the necklace as the jewel seems to continue to shift and approaches to Maz to embrace her with a big comforting hug and eventually kissing her on her cold lips. Oh she misses the shy warm kisses so much, yet at this moment Amara doesn't care. She really misses this so much.
She is learning to pass the grief and continuing to spread her passion and love to others. That is her goal and that's what matters.
Looking back at her adoringly as she usually does with her girlfriend. "Ni-Maz....Thank you. I-I never got to apologize from my reaction and Skyler has been on his own journey to figure out what is wrong with him and I.....I still love you no matter what."
"Thank you so much."

uhhh many thoughts??? it's not super serious but atsuoi always get bullied a lot worse than most others by the fandom for surface level things like, y'all can't come up with something creative? also not to get off track with my feelings on insecure atsumu but that's another crime against him.
anyways i love putting this man into situations and balancing that out with his ego and confidence. he's so great i wish he was written accurately more often, even if only as a background character. also he embodies growing up in ways that are really personal to me lol. anyways i think about him a normal amount !

like why did [Nightcrawler] even fight Azazel and Mystique if all he had to really do was make a wedding for them!!
I've spent a solid minute laughing my ass off at this because I just imagined Nightcrawler threatening to marry Azazel and Mystique if they were to keep doing their criminal activities and escaping jail time and it just backfires
Nightcrawler : "You two are insufferable! Look at all the damage you've done ! Every single criminal of Ryker's island is now out because of you ! Mein gott, I swear if you keep at it I'm going to marry you to one another-...!"
Azazel: "What."
Nightcrawler: "Nothing. I said nothing. You're getting old- more ancient and are hearing voices. Now, en gard- !"
Mystique: "He said if we kept at it, he would officiate our own wedding ceremony."
Azazel: "So I did hear it right... Not that it changes much. Son, I'm used to people jumping to conclusions. You, on the other hand, teleported to them. How would that do anything to solve your problem and fix the situation ?"
Nightcrawler: *getting flustered from both embarrassment and anger* "It doesn't matter, just forget about it. You're going-"
Mystique: "Knowing him, he probably thinks the shackles of matrimony would change the deal and getting every criminal out here to be part of the attendance would better us as people all together."
Azazel: *turns to Kurt* "Is this really what you're thinking ? Titles, promises and a piece of paper don't fundamentally change a person, son, or alter their worldview to the extent you're hoping for."
Mystique: "A divorce or widowhood, on the other hand, ..."
Azazel: "Now, that is a life-changing or life-ending situation depending on who you're dealing with."
Mystique: "Setting the gains strategically, nibbling for extras thanks to a good lawyer, winning a few long lasting favors if you seem heartbroken or desperate enough to people, getting a few confessions out of those who have 'went through the exact same thing', ..."
Azazel: "Having a few mysteries and conspiracies surrounding your death, writing your own will, putting together all the paperwork, being free of your old life forever with no way of being traced back to it, ..."
Mystique: *sigh* "It's so annoying you need to be married to go through all that..."
Azazel: "Good thing it's the easiest and fastest step to take : How often do you have a priest available right away to do the job ? It must a sign. Perhaps we can even have a discount."
Nightcrawler: "Ach nein. Now they're thinking about it. Nein, they're just messing with me-"
Azazel: "Kurt, your mother wishes to stab me with one of the swords you're currently holding to take the insurance money related to 'unusual deaths'. It requires extensive planning and she wants to adjust what she has in mind depending on the model." *Azazel freely takes the sword away from his hand while Nightcrawler remains flabbergasted* "I heard of 'shotgun wedding' and expected a 'shotgun divorce' with Mystique but she wants it to be more of a 'blade divorce' to fit our particular situation. Very thoughtful of her."
Nightcrawler: "What have I done."
