Being Pluto dominant or having a strong influence of Pluto means that transformations, ego deaths, feelings of death and rebirth will accompany you for a life time. From my experience, this will be especially harsh in the childhood, youth and maybe in your early adult years. 🎠 An aries moon and capricorn sun man, I always find this mix intriguing. Can give off the vibes of a character straight out of a webtoon, or a fuck boy that’s just visibly toxic. Either way I find them so incredibly magnetic. They possess strong fiery auras and usually have a rebellious streak to them. If they act out of their shadows they can be arrogant, insensitive, disloyal and only chase after the physical. 

🎠 Initially I wondered why eminem doesn’t give me libra sun vibes at all, then I looked a bit deeper into his chart and realized that he’s just textbook uranian, he even looks like an alien and acts like one at times. He got sun conjunct uranus, aquarius moon, mars conjunct uranus, and uranus square nn. He was born to be a rebel. 

🎠 He’s one of greatest rappers to exist and it’s worthy to mention some of the aspects that indicate his unique talent for rapping. First of all mars conj uranus is known to give unique talents, so that’s that. In this case sun and mars conj uranus granting him a natural rhythm, quick thinking, and unique expression. But the supersonic speed doesn’t come just from that. What’s interesting is that his ability to be a fast rapper and master lyricist is amplified by pluto also being in libra, conjunct his mars and pallas, fueling him with anger, intensifying his capabilities with determination, and heightened mental control and intelligence. Saturn is also in an air sign (gemini), indicating speed and intelligence. This gives rise to a grand air trine, linking his powerful stellium of sun, mars, uranus, pluto, and pallas in libra, his moon in aquarius, and saturn in gemini. The stars really aligned there making him the rap god huh.

🎠 If you know eminem's story you'd know that he had a tough upbringing. From a difficult mother and absent father to being an outcast bouncing between schools and sketchy neighbourhoods, the only white kid in a black community, being bullied by gangs, and even beaten up till he drifted out of consciousness, then dropped out of school. Makes me think it's why he keeps his bodyguards with him all the time! He was left with nothing and a daughter to provide for, encountered racial prejudice in rap contests for being white, despite these obstacles, he rose to become the best-selling hip-hop artist and earned recognition from rappers as one of the greatest of all time. 🎠 Heavy uranus/aquarius or 11°, 23° can easily become misfits without trying to. They’re constantly put in new environments, places where they’re the only ones of their kind, like a white kid in a black community, a foreign in a mostly local area, the new kid in school. This is a hard question to answer because I think it depends greatly on the type of debate at hand. So, these are the types of debates certain placements will most definitely win. This is a short list that could be expanded upon. I wrote on placements that first came to mind. Ethos - appealing to the speaker's credibility, authority and status. 

Sun Conjunct Saturn - When it comes to laying down the law, people with this placement do it well. They command respect and authority due to the high level of responsibility they take on. They follow through on their actions and consistently prove themselves time and time again through their hard work. In debates, they are well regarded because their words match up with their actions.

Jupiter Sextile Saturn - These types are disciplined and efficient. They are known for their wisdom and give out the best life advice. Most importantly, they trust themselves and will not waver when facing conflict. People with this placement are also known for their leadership qualities and are very inspiring. 

Jupiter Trine Pluto - Those with this placement garner a lot of authority and influence over the course of their life. They are incredibly persuasive and charming. Their large presence is intimidating and people can’t help but nod their head along to whatever they are saying. I also like to think of this as the “yes-man” placement, they will most definitely have some strong supporters in their corner backing them up.

🩸There is something about the principles that the spartan soldiers upholds that I really admire and this movie titled 300 is based on real spartan soldiers and it's about how King Leonidas strategizes to defeat his enemies. He followed his own method when he killed the big wolf by leading the enemy to a smaller corner. It's similar to the movie titled Revenant, the main character, was nearly being killed by a bear, left to die by his comrades, and he had to survive in the wild forest alone, he was dying, but that isolation in the state of dying transformed him and as if was being resurrected back to life. He was then targeting his enemy to exact his revenge from what the enemy had done to him, and it made that enemy scared. There's a quote from the main character, "He's afraid, he knows I have come so far to find him". This is a tactical terror that scared enemies, people thought the person was dead, but he survived as if he was being revived back by the God of Death, this is very martian or plutonic. When a martian/plutonian person being thrown into danger, it won't easily defeat them, they will take it as a challenge and it ignites the inner beast to tackle that challenge. Martian energy is about aggression, reaching goals through strategized actions, tactical methods, modus operandi, how we behave when we are angry or when we want to handle things or solving problems, how we express our motivation or inner drives. While Plutonic energy is about death and rebirth process of transformation, something that might kill or obliterate you only make you even stronger and empowered, depicted precisely in the myth of Phoenix which resurrected itself and rose above its own ashes after death. 🩸Having Martian and Plutonic placements combined and aspecting to eachother could really create an empowering energy that the person will always carry within them in their lifetime, it is not a calm harmonious energy, its energy is similar to war zones, chaos. be cautious to avoid accidents, violence, and other misfortunes. i don't like to fear monger about astrology but if there's one thing to be careful about, it's this sort of conjunction. take extra care especially in areas relating to whatever house early aquarius falls in for you. for me it's my 4th house - i'll be sure my home and body are in the best order i can maintain. if i had stairs i would be very careful not to fall down them. the bright side, of course, is that this is a power-conjunction. if you need to take back your power, or build it up in the first place, this is the time to do it!

the Mars-Pluto havoc

Usually when we hear of Mars + Pluto, we immediately think this person is driven to the edge, no doubt skeletons in the closet too.

Particularly with the conjunction, Mars aspected by Pluto in a natal chart is truly one formidable weapon. Astrologically, it signifies unmatchable intensity, perserverance, courage and ambition. "By hook or by crook" best describes the native. Remember, the primary reputation lies in how conquest happened despite the odds set against, rough obstacles to bring one down.

Survival is usually a very big issue with this combination. Even in a small way, those with Mars–Pluto contacts can sometimes be found exhibiting a compulsive need to win. This is the person who must win the game of tennis, chess, monopoly, you name it; if they believe there's a strong chance of loosing, will choose not to play at all. The feelings of there being a strong need to survive and fight are usually the same whatever the nature of aspect, but behaviour indicative of these feelings is much more obvious with the opposition and square.

Often people with these contacts seem anything but able to fight (overtly at any rate) as if Pluto has in some way ‘killed’ the Mars impulse or persona. Truth be told, Hades in typical underworld fashion, shrouds Ares under a cloak of either melancholy or mystery. The perfect camouflage to gel in with the crowd yet the simmering energy trapped underneath is still picked up close surrounding acquaintances.

Of course signs and wheel makeup do matter. Suppose a man having this harsh aspect but his personal planets fall in air signs, a charismatic and eloquent persona is what we get yet when push comes to shove, that same verbal banter can quickly escalate to a fierce argument filled with jabs and insults.

Another more usual manifestation with the hard aspects is the tendency to be overly forceful. As always, Pluto tends to bury the planetary principles it touches, like with Moon it casts away the emotional comfort of childhood security the mother should bring.

When coupled with Mars, the burial is of rage, energy and a kind of bestial sexuality. However, like a boil coming to a head, these qualities will surface when triggered by appropriate transits, and when they do so, it will often be with the most tremendous force. Mars–Pluto anger is not so much anger as rage, the rage of the screaming infant who, for whatever reason, was too frightened to get angry when young. And the anger that was never discharged settles and becomes concealed. In childhood, there was usually a lot of free-floating rage around, commonly with sexual roots. In any event such feelings were often unconscious or largely unexpressed.

For water signs, this leads to emotional trauma inevitably. Which then might cause resistance to confronting their own inner demons and rather so, projecting it onto others.

Life becomes much easier for these people when they can admit to feeling murderous at times and can discover that they are not alone in having these feelings. The real problems for this aspect falling in the charts of otherwise ‘soft’ and humane people, can be of owning their own violent feelings, and this is why such natives can often find it difficult to allow themselves to express anger, and also can be so ruthless with themselves.

Not owning their rage can also result in the person attracting other people or life-situations which are violent or require superhuman courage or endurance. Through encountering such situations these natives are forced to access their own ruthlessness, anger and strong survival instinct.

Due to the default survival instinct, natives with this combination are usually capable of extraordinary courage and powers of endurance. The bravery will often be emotional as opposed to physical, although this aspect is useful for those who physically push themselves to and beyond the limit: dancers, athletes, mountaineers and the like. In fixed signs especially, Mars–Pluto can put up with the kind of extreme situations that might be expected to crush any human spirit.

The way to use this combination is for the individual to engage legitimately in something that, for them, does require superhuman effort. And whilst the exertion needn’t be physical, engaging in such activity, as in work-outs or sport, is often a good way for the person to make conscious use of this placement. Tennis and squash, for example, provide a legitimate vehicle for giving and receiving a good thrashing. Afterall, their physical energy has been pent up for so long and therefore, some sort of physical exertion is often required to shift it.

Dance is sometimes a therapeutic activity for the Mars–Pluto person, for as well as requiring a great physical expenditure of energy it can also be quite emotionally as well as sexually cathartic. Drumming is also ideal. Keeping or working with animals is also a way of contacting the bestial within oneself.

It's also not uncommon for chances of dabbling in the (you guessed it!) realms of occult. Possibly even being the topdog for underground taboo activites (drugs, bdsm) at some point for certain folks with a zest for such.

Mars conjunct Pluto (Synastry)

Now this will somewhat be pulling from my experience as a Sag mars and bruh I swear I know so many people who got my mars conjunct their Pluto. Also not every Sag Pluto will be conjunct my Mars because honestly my mars is at the 22nd degree so the farthest it can go for conjunct (really stretching it) is between 17-27 degrees imo. Sure you could add or subtract a couple of degrees but I’m going to keep it at five degree distance roughly, because the experiences I felt with this aspect in synastry were relatively more intense when the orbs were smaller. Now that I got that out of the way...

LET’S GET STARTED

-I for the most part think it will be so fucking weird to meet a person that you have this aspect with. As the mars person most times I usually get an odd feeling when around people I have this aspect with. For Example: I had met people where the aspect is almost an exact aspect (fucking close orbs bruh) and at first I don’t think much of them...until I decide to talk to them. Then all of the sudden there is this insane connection. We were talking every chance we got and having a great time. Then when we weren’t really talking to each other for the dumbest reason (bruh if I was in a movie you guys would be yelling at the screen cause oof it was so dumb) they would stay on my mind that on the random occasion when we would see each other I would get so antsy (honestly probably angsty as well tbh).

Now being who I am as a person, I will speak up when I disagree with you. For the most part it’s because I in someway trust that you will listen to me and maybe even disagree with me on the topic. For whatever reason people assume I’m mad but really I have an intense way of speaking apparently. But I for the most part don’t mean to be rude, because weirdly enough I will try my hardest to be polite when I argue with someone and somehow it will still be very cutthroat (i guess). I am working on it it just takes time and practice.

I know I rambled a bit but that is just to give context to me as a person, because when it comes to people (where I have Mars conjunct Pluto) they don’t get mad at me like some people usually do but instead they get sad about it. I do wonder if they feel sad about my actions or their own.

Here is another example of when I had this aspect with a coworker of mine. I think me and him had a good amount of aspects and stuff in synastry that attributed to this as well. Anyways we would randomly be close like bruh it was like we had known each other for a long time or even like he was my brother some how. We would play around with each other from play fighting to basic games like rock paper scissors. It’s even funnier considering that when we did talk to each other we would have to stop for a moment because a customer or whatever would come in...like we were still professionals.  Then we would go back to joking around and it’s interesting because I felt like I could understand him even when he didn’t know what he wanted to say. Like he wasn’t fluent in English and I wasn’t fluent in Spanish but we would somehow find a way to understand the other person like girl I will pull out google translate as a last resort sometimes. I’ll have to talk about it more another day...

Synastry: Mars-Pluto aspects

Mars-Pluto aspects can be quite complex as both bring a lot of energy into the relationship.

Mars is the planet of force, action, violence, deception, aggression, sex, energy. Pluto is the planet of regeneration, change, transformation, trauma, an indicator of what triggers a person, what his inner purpose is.

So combined together in synastry they can lead to a very strong connection.

If it's Mars-Pluto conjunction, then the relationship can bring out both people's energy. There is a great desire for change, movement, progress, growth. The Mars person is pushy and aggressive, while the Pluto person may feel like they are finally being given the opportunity to show up as there is someone who finally initiates that side of them. There is passion in the relationship, but it is one that is beyond physical. The pair is drawn to each other. This aspect can create a very powerful pair, romantically and platonically. Unstoppable, ambitious, fearless - they can push each other to do their best, there are no limits. There could be however, a battle for control over the other person. Mars is selfish and competitive, independent. Pluto seeks power and control and that is always manifested in the aspects with it.

If it's Mars-Pluto opposition, the pair can still create a power couple, but compromises are needed. In an opposition, the desire for control from Pluto's side can be stronger and the Mars person could feel irritated and overwhelmed by that. Oppositions usually work great with time and patience as both people bring into the other person's life the qualities they lack. Otherwise, they will try to overpower each other and that can lead to disruption.

If it's a Mars-Pluto square, it can be quite disastrous in some cases, great in others. The square is a strong aspect but it is an indication of major differences. With these two planets it can manifest as difficulty moving on from the past, a lot of arguments, difficulty giving or seeking forgiveness. The Pluto person can be very vengeful and the Mars person may seek ways to provoke them, irritate them, even if it's just for a reaction. As I mentioned, forgiveness is pretty impossible in the relationship and if something occurs, even if they manage to fix the relationship, the old problems will continue reoccuring in the future. There is a battle for power and control, especially from Pluto's side. Two dominant characters clash. There is however strong sexual attraction and undeniable passion.

If there is a Mars-Pluto trine it can be an indication of chemistry, natural attraction. The pair is good at supporting each other, bringing out the other person's strength and control. It is honestly a great aspect as there is a lot of energy between the two, but compared to the other aspects it is not as forceful and difficult.

February 2024 Important Dates

AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's February forecast.

January recap: With Pluto now in Aquarius we've got new technological developments: "flying taxis" going to market, Google's new AI set to release around Jupiter in Gemini, and the first commercially available see-through LED screens. In Saturn-Neptune news, Apple's new VR operating system is being advertised as "spatial computing." Aquarius loves to experiment for the joy of discovery--even if society ends up rejecting some of these new projects. Austin points out many prophetic "near future" fiction stories came out under Jupiter-Saturn in Libra in the 1980s, which was a preview of those conjunctions occurring in air signs for the next 200 years (we had the last earth ones a few years ago). Saturn-Neptune also connotes widespread political misinformation (as it did in 2016)--we've got AI deepfake videos of political figures being used not just for humor, but also to try and sway voters in the New Hampshire Primary. Another notable Saturn in Pisces story is the restriction of the Red Sea trade route and subsequent rerouting of cargo ships along global trade routes. The Mars-Saturn conjunction in Pisces in March will likely show major developments in maritime combat or disasters.

We enter the month fresh off Pluto's ingress into Aquarius. There's a lot of energy in the sign this month, some good and some difficult. The faster-moving planets will be joining Pluto in Aquarius specifically for the first time since the 18th century, giving us the first tastes of what the next 20 years will bring for society at large. February 5th - Mercury enters Aquarius, conjoins Pluto This is the first planet to join the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius. Venus and Mars will follow this ingress-conjunction pattern later this month--and the new Moon is in Aquarius. Mercury-Pluto brings up information and power such as classified document leaks, as well as hidden pathways or getting lost in the labyrinth. Determined efforts to delve into deeper truths can pay off, but we can also become obsessed with something no one else can see. Other significations include taboo subjects, with science and social rules being especially important in Aquarius, and negating ideas we once thought were true. Paranoia and manipulations also abound with Pluto-Mercury. In Aquarius we'll see these issues take light especially through new technologies. In general Pluto magnifies small things to their biggest extremes--something microscopic may change society irrevocably, etc. The PRC has a timed chart with Aquarius rising with the Moon in Aquarius, and indeed has been leading the world in uses & development of certain new technologies, which in turn has brought power struggles with other major players in those fields.

February 6th - Fortunate date (not pictured)

Set at about 8:00AM local time, this chart should give you 11° Pisces rising. The Ascendant ruler Jupiter is in the 3rd house in a day chart, emphasizing communication and other 3rd house topics. The Moon in early Capricorn applies to a trine with Jupiter, bonifying her. The Jupiter-Saturn sextile is emphasized here; while Saturn is very close to the Ascendant, he's more cooperative in a day chart, and is being received by Jupiter (is in Jupiter's sign), who he's trining. Thus Chris predicts it'll be a good balance of consolidation and growth. This does have Mars in the 11th house in a day chart, so it's not great for matters involving friends, groups, and alliances. But it is good for communicating, neighborhood, education/learning, weekly schedule, siblings, and starting a daily practice (Saturn will help us establish routines).

February 9th - Aquarius New Moon

At 20° of Aquarius, the closest configuration is a square from Uranus (19♉), connoting a disruptive or unexpected component. This is also the first Aquarius New Moon with Pluto present--Pluto will be weighing in on all monthly meetings in Aquarius for now. We can expect concerns around independence and freedom, but also emotional volatility. "How do I break from this pattern?" asks the rebel, knowing it'll be better than keeping things as they are. Mercury also applies to a square with a Jupiter during this time, expanding communications & bringing (possibly excessive) optimism. The Jupiter-Saturn sextile that hung over much of January weighs in as well, balancing our drives for both growth and consolidation.

February - 12th/13th Mars enters Aquarius Soon after he conjoins Pluto.

February 14th - Mars conjunct Pluto This is the first hard aspect since the square circa October 7th. There are going to be about 10 of these conjunctions during Pluto's trip through Aquarius. Mars connotes military operations, while Pluto brings underground groups and struggles. We've been having power dynamics stirred up in the Capricorn parts of our charts the past 20 years, and now this moves to our Aquarius house/area of life. Possessiveness and excessive force are also connoted by this planetary combination; exercise caution and take special care not to go too far. Austin describes this feeling as a "struggle against annihilation," even when we're not actually fighting for our lives. It'll take self-control and grace to navigate this Valentine's day well.

February 16th - Venus enters Aquarius Soon after she will conjoin Pluto, and later Mars.

February 17th - Venus conjunct Pluto The intensity, obsessions, and making mountains of molehills brought up by other planets' Pluto contacts will now show itself in the realm of relationships and social interactions. We get the extremes of affection and its negation with Venus-Pluto. This can be a good time for experimenting in the arts: we're getting a new movie based off Frankenstein, which was published under Pluto in Aquarius. Much of the novel is from the perspective of no the doctor but his experiment--when are we our own lab rats?

February 18th - Sun enters Pisces

February 22nd - Venus conjunct Mars Unfortunately Mars, Aquarius, and Pluto do not bode well for Valentine's-adjacent activities. Some positive connotations include magnetic allure and deep, passionate connections with others, extreme vulnerability and devotion. However, keep watchful for power struggles and manipulation in relationships and attraction. Ask yourself, "is this healthy or is this too far?" and try to set healthy boundaries. (Though the answers may be clearer in hindsight.) Look out for hastiness in relationships, jealous and aggression in love, or attraction to drama or conflict. Try to balance passion with reason, communicate clearly, and express that energy through creative outlets.

February 23rd - Mercury enters Pisces

February 24th - Virgo Full Moon

Immediately after its exact opposition to Saturn, the Moon applies to one with Saturn, who as a matter of course is also applying to Saturn by conjunction (pictured above is the Moon between these oppositions). Austin describes this as a magnified check-in with Saturn, as we're approaching the 1-year mark for Saturn in Pisces (early March). How have you been bearing having to swim with weights on? Or maybe you've hooked something powerful on your fishing line--how will you reel it in? Chris says this lunation highlights tension in the Virgo part of our charts as well, shedding light that may help us identify solutions. We have a Sun-Mercury-Saturn conjunction a few days later that will bring our attention back to Pisces.

February 26th/27th - Mars square Jupiter Jupiter wants to help, but something's getting in his way. We can also think about taking risks, leaving our comfort zone, and increased energy/enthusiasm. However, as Mars is overcoming Jupiter (earlier in the zodiac), traditional sources would indicate that the warlike side of things will gain the upper hand over peaceful Jupiter. Mars in Aquarius connotes rogue or outsider forces, while Jupiter is privileged by stability in Taurus. Keep a lookout for global trade points and major conflicts, which will likely see developments around this time. Some positives of Mars-Jupiter include increased motivation, taking bold actions, and meeting ambitious goals. On the flipside is impulsiveness, overconfidence, and recklessness. Mars-Jupiter is willing to take a risk. Sometimes, it's better not to know exactly what you're getting into so you don't get overwhelmed by a monumental task; other times, it doesn't work out. This is the placement of the intrepid explorer.

February 28th - Moon, Mercury, and Saturn conjunction in Pisces This occurs at 9 degrees of Pisces, and each planet applies to a sextile with Pisces in the following days. Jupiter brings us another management check-in after Saturn's: how have we been balancing growth with consolidation? Jupiter's going to pick up speed and zoom out of Taurus later this year, moving away from this balanced position to a difficult square with Saturn. We've been balancing weight with buoyancy, but once in Gemini Jupiter forms more of helicopter to Saturn's submarine--vehicles that can't be combined. With Saturn and Mercury (and the Sun shedding light), we'll likely see changes in the status of maritime trade and travel. From Saturn to Jupiter we may see something go from being stuck to unstuck.

As we wrap up the month, we've got some Pisces planets approaching Neptune while Jupiter approaches Uranus. And don't forget, we've got 29 days in February this year!

Personal Revolution

Tuesday - February 13, 2024

For those who are ready, there is a personal revolution of the Self going on inside of them. Are you one of them? Believe me, if you know, you know.

Today that inner revolution gets a HUGE kick in the ass as Mars moves into Aquarius, and conjuncts Pluto at 0°. And this just isn't any conjunction by the way. I've looked and looked, I CAN NOT find where these two have conjoined at 0° Aquarius. I looked back to 500 BC, and forward to 2100 AD and can not find it. (Note: this conjunction is exact at 0° 46' on Wednesday at 1:05am ET US. And this conjunction will last about 30 hours, until Mars moves to 1°.)

Mars represents action, movement, power and ego. And in the sign of independence, innovation and revolution, it is a time of great renewal and rebirth. Think BIG folks ... this ain't no little bitty, let me think about it kind of transit.

This is the transit that is showing you all of your potential, and ESPECIALLY the potential of things you have already been investing energy into.

Mars will be in Aquarius until March 22nd, and will be poking and prodding you to GO, GO and GO. So my suggestion is to GO!

But also remember that many are not as Self aware as you, and may use this conjunction and Mars in Aqua transit in life-negating ways. If your intuition says STAY AWAY, don't engage with that person, place or thing, I'm telling you ... you better damn well do it.

Mars conjunction Pluto can look penetrating and with emotion. I have this position and I've heard that:

1) my look was like a bullet (that I would kill someone with my look, I was angry)
