The U.S. Navy on Tuesday released the first close-up photos of operations to recover parts of the Chinese surveillance balloon shot down on Saturday.

The photos show debris recovery efforts on Sunday off the coast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Navy said.

They depict what appear to be evening and nighttime efforts to retrieve the large balloon that the Pentagon has said was about 200-feet tall.

Divers were working to retrieve other parts of the balloon's payload assembly -- estimated to be the size of three buses -- that likely sunk to the bottom in about 45 feet of water in the area.

Officials have said the debris field is approximately the size of 15 football fields by 15 football fields and that the balloon had propellers and a rudder.

The Pentagon has said FBI experts were aboard recovery vessels and a senior government official has said pieces would be brought to the FBI lab in Quantico, Virginia, for analysis.

Two U.S. officials have confirmed that most if not all of the balloon’s fabric that was floating on the surface has been recovered from the surface in the search area. It’s possible that other pieces may end up washing ashore but for now what they’ve seen has been picked up.

Previous Chinese surveillance balloon incidents that occurred during the Trump administration and early under the Biden administration were not spotted by NORAD at the time, VanHerck, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, told reporters Monday.

"We did not detect those threats. And that's a domain awareness gap that we have to figure out," VanHerck said.

After repeated hyping of the so-called Chinese spy balloon incident for nearly five months, the Pentagon on Thursday admitted the airship did not collect any information, not to mention send any data back to China. After Mian Mian left the Jin sect, she picked a random direction to travel and just kept going and going and going until she was in lands with names that she couldn't even find on her maps.

Meanwhile Ning Yingying has decided to take a sabbatical from Cang Qiong to get away from her love-dovey shizun who just married to Luo Binghe is an obnoxiously red wedding, which only further served to remind her about how her failing attempts to get her crush to notice her.

And by crush, I mean Ning Yingying's crush on Liu Mingyan. Liu Mingyan is too busy with her brother - consoling her brother over Shen shishu's marriage - and too busy being simultaneously annoyed that Shen Qingqiu didn't pick her brother and happy that her Chunsan novel(s) are doing so well. Being the career and family woman that she is, Liu Mingyan has no time to realize Ning Yingying's feelings.

And thus, like this, Mian Mian and Ning Yingying end up running into each other in some remote village.

Mian Mian has no destination in mind, just content to wander in lands that she has no chance in running into some former acquittances. Ning Yingying is feeling a bit lonely because she's not used to being alone with no Qing Jing disciples to accompany with her, so she invites Mian Mian to travel with her. Plus it's nice to have a friend whom she can rant all her love troubles to.

And like this, on the dusty backroads, a new love blooms.
