it hadn’t been long since you and karina met. by luck, she was attending a fashion show and had gravitated to you during the after-party. it was an unforgettable experience; one of the most gorgeous idols constantly hovering around you, eyes lingering on the silky black, backless dress you adorned, fingers dancing across your arms… needless to say, you had immediately asked for her contact information, only to receive a cryptic smile in return.
“why not just,” she whispered, “come back to my place instead?”
you had instantly declined, “i’m sorry, i don’t do that. and don’t you live with your members anyway?” karina merely shrugged, eyes twinkling with a gleam you couldn’t name.
“then shouldn’t we go back to yours?”
exasperated, you shake your head, “i just said, i don’t do that. i was interested before, and you are jaw-droppingly beautiful, but i’m not intending to go anywhere tonight, karina.”
the girl hesitated for a few seconds. you raised an eyebrow. she grins, “call me jimin.”
it had only been a month since that interaction. since then, your relationship has progressed. from strangers to friends and now tethering on the edge of a relationship. or as your member yujin had described, a ‘situationship’. it was so easy to open up to jimin, her sweet talk, midnight chats and relentless insistence to annoy you had captured your attention. she was so stupidly cute.
you had fallen.
and jimin seemed to have as well.
no one would stay up till midnight talking to a situationship unless they really liked them, right?
and even though jimin had a schedule the next day, you and her were still in a heated discussion about which ice cream flavour was the superior one (it was always vanilla).
the alarm on your phone rang. in bright words read, ‘milan fashion show.’ you smile to yourself. it was another chance to see jimin after her hectic schedule. you barely had time to see her during her break, and now your schedules finally matched up. you couldn’t wait to see her.
jiminie [7.41am]:
hihihi good morning
i’ll see u ltr :))
ynie [8.20am]:
morning!
can’t wait.
you turn your phone off with a bright grin, barely keeping your excitement under wraps. your flight was at 10 and by the time you reached milan, it would be around 11 in the evening. it was going to be a long flight, but the thought of seeing jimin again made your stomach tighten up. was this what people in relationships feel? it was so bizarre that the simple thought of someone could so easily make you feel breathless.
unable to contain your exhilaration, you get some weird stares from your manager and assistants. meekly apologising, you close your eyes as they drive to the airport, dreaming of a certain main dancer.
Tumblr media
you blink. how did you get here?
jimin, was just standing a few feet away from you, but she had barely spared you a glance the whole day. she didn’t even greet you or anything. even after the crew had asked for you two to stand together, jimin was at least a metre away, not daring to stand in your vicinity. you could cry.
especially with the heart eyes every other person was sending her way. you swallow the lump in your throat, staring at the man who stood a little close for comfort next to her. and throughout the show, you could only stare longingly at the back of her head, sighing every once in a while when the two of them would pose. it was devastating.
“you good?” one of the other attendants asked. you think you recognise them from a recent drama you’ve watched.
“yeah,” you mumble, taking a sip of the champagne in your glass. at the corner of your eye, you could see jimin and that man conversing, both sharing giggles and whispers. your grip on the glass tightens. groaning, you look away, trying to hide the hurt on your face from being ignored so obviously. all your attempts at conversation had been shut down and she brushed past all your waves.
you saunter to the corner, taking a seat and pulling out your phone.
yujin [9.27pm]:
how’s it gg
yn [10.14pm]:
it’s like i don’t even exist.
i don’t know what i should do
she keeps talking to some guy
yujin [10.15pm]:
girl gtfo
you agree with yujin. if karina wanted to ignore you, so be it. there was nothing for you to do anyway. after sending a quick message to your manager, you get back up, heading back to the group of actors and idols alike that were engaged in conversation.
coincidentally, karina and her partner for the night had joined as well. it wasn’t difficult to avoid eye contact when she wouldn’t even look in your direction.
“i’ve requested for more champagne,” one of them say, “anybody wants a refill?”
a murmur of chorus emerges.
the waiter stares at your glass expectantly, the bottle in his hand waiting.
“ah… no, i’m leaving soon,” you say awkwardly, handing your glass to another waiter passing by. karina’s head shoots up.
“shame,” they all agree.
“your manager’s picking you up?” karina finally speaks. you longed for her voice, but you’re not very appreciative of it now.
you nod, barely wanting to start a conversation with the girl.
“i’ll walk you out.”
can you really refuse in front of all these people? you already had a reputation of being a bitch. refusing karina’s offer was going to severely damage your image.
you just hold your tongue.
the cold air greets you warmly, unlike karina. you relish in the gusts of wind, waiting patiently outside the gala for your manager’s distinguishable car. karina hums a gentle tune, turning to you.
“how was the show?”
“good,” you reply, curt.
karina doesn’t back down.
“you had fun?” you nod.
“i didn’t get to talk to you at all, it’s sad you’re leaving now.”
you shrug.
“why are you leaving so early?”
“tired.”
“hm, okay.”
you stand in silence while karina fidgets beside you, her hands constantly twirling her hair and eyes darting around. cursing yourself, you take a quick glance at her. the girl’s deep, lush and dark hair flows charmingly in the wind. her eyes draw you in, hypnotising you deeply, full of uncertainty and hesitance for the first time you’ve met her.
“do you have something to say?” you ask. karina huffs, blowing her bangs covering her eyes.
“i do, but it just depends if you’ll listen to me.”
“depends on what you’re asking for,” you reply.
karina smiles, smaller than before, “stay. just for a few more minutes. with me.”
you contemplate. just for a few minutes.
“only until my manager comes.”
she falters, it’s the first time you’ve ever subtly rejected her company, but a practised mask of indifference is put on.
there’s an uncomfortable silence, one that neither of you are willing to acknowledge. you start to regret your decision; you should have just asked her to go back in, instead of waiting out here with you like a fool.
“minjeong’s been talking about this milan cathedral, called duomo di milano, it’s really pretty,” karina looks at you expectantly, “do you have the day off tomorrow for sightseeing?”
you answer slowly, “i do have the day off...”
“where are you staying? i’ll come pick you up.”
“but i don’t want to go, karina,” you complete your sentence. shock passes her face rather quickly.
“uhm, do you want to go somewhere else?”
you shake your head, wanting her to get the hint that you weren’t exactly jumping for the opportunity to hang out.
“we could go shopping at this galleria that aeri mentioned, it has a hotel and everything.”
“no, thanks for offering.”
karina’s tethering on the edge of distress, her face showing visible distraught by now, no longer caring to hide behind a mask of impassiveness. you check your phone again. notifications line your lock screen, most of them coming from yujin.
yujin [10.29pm]:
are u out of there yet
make sure to get back safe
also call me ltr i need to tell u smth
omg jiwon js told me she left seo at home alone
you smile at yujin messages. the leader’s caring nature makes your heart warm and the mention of your other members makes you miss them.
“your manager texting you?” karina asks.
“uh, no,” you reply vaguely, not very keen on talking to her. karina frowns.
“are you sick? do you feel unwell?” she lifts a hand up to touch your neck. the fleeting touch of her fingers already caused goosebumps against your skin.
“i’m fine, karina.”
the mention of her name makes her glare at you, “didn’t i say to call me jimin?”
unable to answer coherently, you settle for silence. karina huffs, seemingly getting irritated.
she opens her mouth once again, but the honk of a car distracts you. the window rolls down and you recognise your manager.
“thanks for uhm, staying here with me,” you bow, “have a good night.” you were upset, but that wouldn’t stop you from being polite.
karina merely watches you leave.
Tumblr media
your manager gives you about five minutes of peace and tranquillity before unleashing an onslaught of questions onto you, like “why’d you leave?” or “did someone say something to you?” you answer truthfully to most of his questions.
unable to get a proper response, he just drives back and tells you to not get into any trouble on your day-off.
(“what trouble would i even get into?”
“i’ll actually quit if dispatch posts a photo of you drinking with your friends.”
“that would be impossible since i don’t have any friends.”)
meanwhile, yujin fills you in on the stupid shit your members get up to during your absence. like rei putting aluminium into the microwave and wonyoung just managing to stop her in time.
your phone lights up with notifications throughout the night and you hate the fact that it doesn’t bring you the same excitement like before. the morning after, a chain of messages graces your phone.
jiminie [9.17am]:
are u awake?
jiminie [9.20am]:
when are u gg back to korea?
hello?
ynie [9.31am]:
tmrw
jiminie [9.31am]:
do u feel like gg out tdy?
you turn off your phone, sighing. you would have felt bad for being so distant but the mere thought of karina with that guy yesterday night made you feel unneeded. why was she texting you and asking to hang out with you when she already had someone to go to?
there was no point overthinking about her.
karina would just be another failed situationship. she didn’t mean that much to you (she did). she wasn’t the first thing you thought of once you woke up (she was). and she definitely couldn’t be a good girlfriend for you (she definitely could be).
the hotel doorbell rings. you quirk an eyebrow, not remembering ever ordering room service. maybe your manager knew you wouldn’t be going out for breakfast.
you don’t bother checking the peephole, the hotel you were staying at was very tight on security and only celebrities stayed at this floor. you open the door, stomach grumbling at the thought of food.
“yn.”
oh.
karina stands at your door, a small smile on her face. you feel terribly underdressed compared to her in your bathrobe and messy bed hair.
“good morning,” you greet hoarsely.
“hurry up and get dressed.”
you stop karina from entering your room.
“what are you talking about?”
“we’re going out whether you like it or not. you shouldn’t rot in your room, you should be exploring milan, before you leave, with me.”
do you really have a choice to say no? (yes, you do).
in your heart, you knew in the end, you wouldn’t ever say no to karina.
“okay.”
she grins and you forget why you were even upset in the first place.
karina waits patiently while you finish getting ready. she’s on the balcony admiring the view when you’re done.
“where are we going?” you grab a mask and a cap as karina puts on her shoes again.
“it’s a surprise, and you don’t need those,” karina answers, pointing at the items in your hand. you frown.
“people will recognise me. they’ll see me with you.”
karina shakes her head, “it’s fine, i don’t mind it.”
i mind it though.
you end up leaving them by your bedside table.
“where are we going?” you repeat as karina drags you out of the door. she groans, “stop asking! i already told you it’s a surprise.”
“i need to tell my manager.”
karina pouts, “i’ve already contacted him, just stop worrying about everything.”
her words seem so easy to believe now. to stop worrying about everything.
the streets of milan are filled with cafes and luxury brands. with it being one of the most visited cities, tourists and locals alike roam the area. at every corner, there’s either an art gallery or museum. you must admit that the architecture is simply amazing. quaint bookstores and coffee shops provide a sense of peace away from the bustling metropolitan city. milan was beautiful.
karina pulls you into a cafe, the strong aroma of coffee already filling your senses. there’s a quiet ambience of chatter and the soft footsteps of the waiters walking around. the girl brings you to one of the tables near the window. it gives you a view of a clothing shop adjacent to the cafe, full of customers.
“milan’s called a fashion capital,” karina remarks, “it’s one of europe’s most dynamic cities.” when you don’t reply, karina stands up, awkwardly saying, “i’ll go order our food.”
you nod.
she comes back soon, red in the face and fumbling with her wallet.
you ignore it.
“uhm, anyway, did you sleep well last night?”
“yeah.”
“okay… uh, what time is your flight tomorrow?”
“i think it’s in the morning,” you feel pity for karina who’s been desperately trying to keep the conversation going, “what about you?”
karina’s face lights up, “it’s at one in the afternoon.”
the waiter soon arrives with your food. its mouth-watering. karina hands the waiter a note and says something in italian that you don’t understand.
“you can speak italian?” you ask, curiosity taking over you.
“yeah, a little,” karina mumbles. she doesn’t seem to want to elaborate, so you don’t bother asking any more. you gorge yourself out with the pastries that karina ordered, all while she looks a little constipated and unsure.
“you’re not going to eat?”
“i… i already ate before coming here.”
you nod, continuing to chew.
“it’s so early, who’s awake to even eat with?”
karina mutters, “i ate with jaewook.” you swallow the piece of bread in your mouth. the sweetness you tasted on your tongue is gone, just left with a bitter taste. you regret even asking her. you regret coming out of your hotel to eat pastries with her at 9 in the morning.
your head feels clouded. it’s not only gravity pulling you down. it’s a wrangling chain clutching your heart, pulling it into your stomach. the more you think about karina and that guy together, the more you feel like puking out all the sweet treats you stuffed your mouth with. you wanted to get rid of anything related to her.
“are you okay?” she asks.
no, you want to reply.
“i wanna go back,” you say instead.
lying was always better than telling her the truth.
“what? no, uhm,” karina blurts out, panicked, “you can’t go back yet, we still have a lot to sightsee.”
“please let me go back,” you beg, feeling a wave of nausea take over. between her incessant pleading to not leave and the vision of the two of them, jealousy fills your every vein.
“i planned a lot for today and oh my god, yn—” you can’t stand it anymore.
swiftly, you take out a wad of cash, placing it on the table and leaving the cafe without a second look behind. you stomp out quick, steady steps back to the hotel and you can feel karina hot on your heels. she calls out for your name, but to no avail do you turn back. you think of a plan. once you get back to your room, you’re going to block karina on everything. she’s never going to exist in your life ever again. if your job requires you to interact with her, it’s a bare minimum. you’ll break off contact with all of your mutual friends, ryujin, minjeong, maybe chaewon (but yujin and wonyoung would kill you).
it’s only when you reach a traffic light that karina catches up with you. once it flashes red, you groan. you can basically see karina’s triumphant smirk at the corner of your eye.
“are you done running now?”
you take a good look at karina. she’s panting, not more than you are, and her cheeks are flushed red.
the light flashes green.
“no.”
and the chase begins again.
karina tails you until you reach the hotel lobby. you open up your purse, searching for the keycard. karina is just a few steps behind.
you hear gasps of recognition behind you, the very reason you wanted to cover up your identity.
the moment the lift reaches the ground floor, you slide in, rapidly pressing the close button. karina, however, navigates through the crowd and manages to reach the lift in time.
you groan, your attempt at running away has failed. maybe you could still convince karina to leave you alone somehow. she wouldn’t try to break into your room, right?
“this is awkward now.”
“yeah, i wasn’t expecting you to follow me,” you sneer, “if a woman says she wants to leave, just let her leave for god’s sake.”
“okay, that’s my fault but you literally left out of nowhere, and you’ve been acting weird ever since last night,” karina argues back.
the lift beeps. you exit it with karina following you closely behind, still ongoing about your sudden change in behaviour.
“like last night, you left early and we didn’t even have time to talk or anything, and when i asked you about it you didn’t even explain anything?! just brushed me off and left! can you just tell me what’s going on?”
you two reach your room.
“i don’t need to explain myself to you. i said i was tired.”
“okay, but what about today? i planned the whole day for us to hang out and you just got up and left? what the hell! are you just an asshole who plays with people’s feelings? you told me you ‘can’t wait to see me’ and then just left like that,” karina raises her voice. a elderly couple passes you two and you feel self-conscious. you were just standing outside your room letting karina yell at you.
“come in then yell, you’re getting weird looks.”
karina inhales sharply, finally calming down.
you sit down on one of the lounge chairs, taking a deep breath.
“i really don’t have anything to explain to you. i’m sorry. and i’m not the one playing with people’s feelings here.”
“what? are you insinuating that i’m the one playing with your feelings?”
“uh, if the shoe fits?”
karina slaps your arm, “are you serious right now? can you just talk to me for once?! is this your first time being friends with someone?” friends? since when were you ever just friends with karina?
“no, it isn’t,” you swallow, “it’s my first time feeling this way for someone.”
“what?”
“do you know how many times i think about you in a day? it’s once, because i never stop. it hurts me every time i see you with someone else and i know i shouldn’t feel this way because while you reside in my mind, i have to hope that I cross yours once in a while to feel less pathetic of myself. do you know how that feels? to want to exist in someone’s thoughts. i feel happy just to know that you’re even acknowledging my presence. but you didn’t. you didn’t even care when i was there, so you shouldn’t care when i’m not,” the weight of unshed tears came pouring out. you let out a watery but hollow laugh. karina makes your heart ache, she makes you feel defeated and useless, she makes you feel angry and jealous.
“you make me feel that life is worth living for. that i went through all those torturous years just to meet you.”
karina, is life in itself.
“and i don’t think i’ll ever be able to find someone else that makes me feel this way. have you ever felt that way about someone?”
she stares at you, unblinking. she comes to terms with your words finally.
“i’m sorry,” she says.
“it’s fine,” you sniffle, wiping your tears.
“i’m sorry i hurt you.”
“of course you’ll hurt me. of course we’ll hurt each other, because this is the condition of living. and what’s not love, if not living for each other?”
“i didn’t know you felt that way about me.”
you sigh, “regret is a stupid thing. when you reject me, i would be better off knowing that we wouldn’t work out because you don’t like me, rather than me not telling you and wondering if we would ever work out. and you’re with that guy anyway.”
“who told you i would reject you? and who said i was with him?”
“oh.”
“i feel everything that you’ve just said, about you. and i’m upset that you were planning to just throw me away like that because of our inability to communicate.”
you laugh, more heartily this time, “i just didn’t want to be one of your conquests or whatever.”
“you’re more than one of my conquests. i wouldn’t dream of even letting you go. some people search their whole lives to find what i found in you. you can be assured that i won’t ever let you go.”
her sincere words draw red to your cheeks, warmth spreads from your neck to the tip of your ears. “you still like me,” you repeat, “even when i’m a jealous freak, have commitment issues and i care too much?”
“even with all those traits. if you didn’t care, you wouldn’t be the yn i like,” karina’s voice softens as does her touch. she takes your hand in hers, caressing the back of your hand with her palm.
“even if i don’t understand why you get angry and why you ignore me, i still like you. that’s what makes you, you. and love is all about understanding.”
you nod. all the crying has made you feel drowsy, and your fatigue is apparent, since karina smiles in amusement and says, “wash up and take a nap. i’ll be here.”
she’ll be here.
“thank you, jimin.”
karina, or rather, jimin, chuckles, “hurry up and shower. i hope you brought extra clothes since i’m going to change too.”
you quickly wash up and so does jimin. the two of you settle into the bed, your hands clutching at jimin for warmth and intimacy. you have her. the thought allows you to drift asleep, finally knowing that jimin’s heart beats the same for yours.
when the sun sets as you wake up from your nap, you can’t help but blurt out, “i adore you.”
jimin, pleasantly surprised, only giggles back.
“i adore you too, in ways words cannot express.”
maybe paris wasn’t the city of love. yours was milan.

Mihawk and his lover are just spending New Year's just the both of them, sipping on his favorite vintage wine, having light conversation, and cooking New Years dinner together, and even making little snacks, to snack on. The two of them were making small conversation about how this year went.
Spending time together is all the two wanted to start the new year, no one else but them. It was basically an hour before midnight. So right now the two were currently dancing around the large living room of their castle that they called home. The two lovers didn’t need music to dance.
He looked at the clock, it read a minute before midnight. He pulled her close to him, looking into her eyes with his hawk-like eyes. As he continued to hold them close to him, spinning them around softly, he looked back at the clock, and saw it had hit midnight.
“Happy New Year Darling, here's to another amazing year with you.”
He spoke softly, as he pulled them in to give them a New Years Kiss.

“Happy New Year Y/N!” the straw hat captain grinned. The straw hats, with the help of Franky and Nami keeping up with time, had planned a big feast to celebrate the beginning of a New Year. Smiling warmly at their  captain trying to steal food while Usopp and Nami valiantly defending the food. Zoro was already sipping on his booze, Robin was relaxing while using her devil fruit ability to help bring food to the table.
After the big feast, it was about a few minutes before midnight, the two went to another part of the Thousand Sunny, to spend alone time together. They had a small conversation together. Her giggling at Luffy being his usual silly self, he loved hearing them laugh. And seeing their smile.
Soon the fireworks went off, the fireworks being Nami’s idea, so they had bought the fireworks to shoot off “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” They heard their fellow crewmates shout. He poked them on the shoulder, she looked at him.
“Happy New Year!”
He cheered out, happily as he pulled them close, giving them a New Years Kiss.

For New Years he wanted to spend time with them just the two of them. Up in the crows nest of the Thousand Sunny with a bottle of sake. And a plate of food for them to eat, while their crew members partied down below, he was planning something a little special, as soon as the fireworks went off (Which were Nami’s idea)
The two were sharing a bottle of sake, while talking. All cuddled up together in the crows nest. The two were cracking jokes about the things that had happened during this year, and hoping to make fond memories for every year to come. They don’t even know the time currently. Too busy wrapped up in each other's embrace.
The fireworks then suddenly went off with their fellow crewmates yelling “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” from below them, he looked over at her softly grabbing their face, to have them look at him.
“Happy New Year babe, here’s to the new year. And plenty more to go.”
He spoke, as his lips pressed against hers. Giving them a New Years Kiss.

The straw hat crew was hosting a New Year party/feast on the Thousand Sunny. Sanji and his beloved were drinking some wine together, while eating the food that Sanji prepared with their help. The couple were happy to go into the new year together. As the crew laughed, and conversated about how this year went. All the memories they made.
Sanji and his beloved were conversing about the good, bad, and funny memories they made together. As they snuggled up together, waiting on Franky and Nami to shoot off the fireworks. To go into the new year.
Soon the fireworks went off, he looked over at them pulling them close to him, putting a hand softly on their cheek.
“Happy New Year my beloved, here's to many more with you~”
He spoke, as he leaned in and softly gave them a New Years Kiss.
𝑩𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒏:

There was a party being hosted by Buggy himself on The Big Top. It was a New Years party to celebrate going into the new year, with plenty of sake and food to go around, it was a whole feast. In their own corner was Buggy and Y/N spending time with each other, eating food and drinking sake together.
They had planned to shoot off fireworks, as soon as it was midnight. And Buggy also had something planned to go into the new year with his lover. He felt happy to celebrate new years with them, he couldn’t wait until it hit midnight.
Soon the sound of fireworks in the sky surrounded the area, they looked up at the fireworks in awe as the crew yelled out “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” as they cheered and hollered, Buggy pulled them close to him, causing them to look at him.
“Happy New Year Doll~”
He cooed softly, as he pulled them in for a New Years Kiss.
𝑹𝒆𝒅-𝑯𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔:

The crew was of course celebrating New Year with a party, with of course alcohol being involved. Shanks had his love sitting on his lap, him being the clingy partner that he is. Wanted them close to him, as the two drank on the rum. And ate on the food that was served.
They had managed to buy fireworks for this occasion, as his love wanted fireworks. And him being the amazing lover that he is. Made sure that happened. The one keeping up with the time was Lucky Roux, he let everyone know it was almost time for it.
The time went by fast as the fireworks now went off, shooting up into the sky with different, beautiful but vibrant colors, he pulled them close to him, to get their attention. They looked at him.
“Happy New Year Love, to many more with you.”
He pulled them into a New Years Kiss.

The Heart Pirates were celebrating new years on the Polar Tang, with food and snacks, and drinks to choose from, it was just a small celebration amongst the crew. Law and his lover were hanging out on the deck, just them wanting to spend alone time together. He had a watch on his wrist so he could tell when it's midnight.
He wanted to do something special for them as soon as midnight hit, he was listened to them rant about the memories good, bad,and silly that they made this year, and hoping to make the same memories with him during the new year.
He looked at his watch, noticing it was now midnight. He looked over at them, touching their face gently, causing them to look at him, he leaned in close to them.
“Happy New Year Doll.”
He whispered softly, bringing them into a New Years Kiss.
𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒈𝒂𝒔 𝑫. 𝑨𝒄𝒆:

The two were strolling down the busy street hand in hand, they wanted to come to the New Years Festival with him, and how could he say no to his lover. The two were sharing a candied apple. Looking at all the stalls open, the smells of different foods wafting in the air.
When it was almost time for the fireworks to go off, the two went to the outskirts of the town, and sat down on a small hill, where they are still able to see the fireworks go off. They were joking around, and talking to pass the time.
Soon the fireworks went off as they heard cheers from the festival below, the two looked at each other, this was his chance, he put one of his hands softly on their cheek rubbing it softly.
“Happy New Year My Flame!”
He cheerfully said, as he gave them a kiss, a New Years Kiss.

more more more more aftg show bloopers (p 4?? I think?) whoop whoop de fuckin whoop
Neil's actor being a huge Duolingo dork and in the behind the scenes while the other actors are fooling around between takes you can often see him with his head bent and hear the little 'ping!'s coming from his phone
also during late night shoots, as it gets closer to midnight he always has a point where he's like SHIT my Duolingo streak. and then just blocks out everyone while his fingers fly over his screen
(fans make compilations of him proudly showing his Duolingo streak to the camera and the number grows as the seasons progress)
(he definitely is the kinda bitch who cares more about maintaining the streak than actually learning languages)
actually omg while we're on the topic of languages
Kevin's actor tenderly reciting his French lines to Matt's actor and Matt's actor is just smitten. and he goes "say something else, love" and Kevin's actor strokes his cheek while saying another one of his lines and Matt swoons
(then Kevin's actor turns to the camera and goes "I just told him that he's a disappointment and is going to get his ass handed to him by ravens if he doesn't do exactly as I say" and, from the ground, Matt's actor goes "hell yeah you did. talk dirty to me any day of the week you sexy, sexy man")
coach's actor is always swearing to the point where they implement a swear jar...really it's just something for the kids to jokingly rag on him about, but he goes with it, and every so often they'll empty the jar to buy the cast and crew pizza
they're filming outside at night and it's cold and in between takes Matt's Aaron's and Renee's actors are all huddled together for warmth and Matt's actor gets pulled aside to get his makeup touched up and the other two just shriek at the absence of his heat and catch up to him to tuck themselves against him again
Andrew needs to snap his fingers in one scene but everyone finds out that day that his actor doesn't know how to snap so he has a little impromptu snapping lesson and of course it turns into everyone else trying to one-up each other with their snapping abilities
Nicky's actor telling everyone what he's going to steal from set (will literally say"[about Allison's bathrobe] damn that shit soft as hell. Ive been needing a new bathrobe actually. I'm stealing this" or "I'm stealing this lighter/bandana/sunglasses/etc") but because his humor is so dry everyone thinks he's joking. until months later. when the prop department can't find shit
Renee's actress is doing something completely mundane but Neil's and Allison's actors start narrating what she's doing like they're in a nature documentary (always with Australian accents for some reason??)
"and our specimen now reclines herself vertically on a piece of furniture us humans know as 'a desk.' this clearly less-developed creature seems not to understand the purpose of such an object. but given that this is her first time outside her natural habitat (the jungle) her lack of familiarity with modern technology is to be expected"
Renee's actress: *flips them off*
"ah and here we witness one of the most common behaviors of this specimen. specialists have dubbed it 'flipping the bird,' and explain it as a nonverbal expression of affection" "oh fuck off"
photo from another cold night-shoot and it's of Matt's and Dan's actors, she's standing in front of him zipped up in his hoodie, just her head poking out and they're having a conversation with other castmates like it's the most normal thing in the world, looking the very image of the couple they play
so much glorious content from shooting the dorm sleepover scene. the most popular thing to come from it is a picture from after they wrapped where the cast and some members of the crew had moved even closer to each other amid all the blankets and are asleep on top of each other
Andrew's actor will sometimes actually eat the ice cream he's given instead of just pretending to eat it, and halfway through the scene he casually mentions that he's lactose intolerant and sends the crew into a worried frenzy
if you haven't clocked it yet, these bitches are competitive. and one day, one thing led to another, and soon a bunch of the actors are all being filmed having a plank-holding competition. Dan's actress is the first to drop and she gets booed at for it because "you're an ex-stripper where tf is that upper body strength?"
she flips them off and goes to sit on Kevin's actor, hoping to squash his plank, but instead he starts doing push ups with her on his back. she grins
(Rikos actor wins that competition btw. and Neil's actor goes on a rant about "we succumbed to the ENEMY? a RAVEN? your characters would be ashamed of you" (he also lost?))
Allison's actress pretending to do a get-ready-with-me using all the stuff on Allison's vanity
Wymack's actor falling asleep in The Dad Pose™ when they're shooting a scene on the bus. and everybody gathers in to take pictures
when Kevin and Neil get all up in each other's faces their actors will pretend like they're going to kiss each other
not really a blooper but just all the actors for the foxes and the ravens mingling together in between takes and it looks so wrong
give me all the actors constantly taking the piss out of their characters
for ex during a scene where the monsters are in the car on the way to Edens, Nicky's actor looks towards the backseat where everyone is in character and goes wow what a fun crowd we are you'd never believe we're about to hit the club
night shoots are a. struggle. for Dan's actress. and the others love to take videos of her just standing on her mark with the most spaced out expression on her face
Andrew's and Neil's actors are shooting one of their typical intense, deep scenes and after one take, as soon as "cut" is called, Andrew's actor grabs Neil's face and starts serenading him with the song that's been stuck in his head all day
Renee's actress getting scolded for sneaking snacks into her costume
when Nicky's actor messes up a line (and he's the least likely of everyone to do it) he starts spewing Spanish
Andrew's actor constantly teasing his brother and Katelyn's actress whenever they have scenes together
like the two of them will just be talking together in between takes and Andrews actor will be behind the camera recording them and saying shit like "look at that MINYARD RIZZ" (or he'll use their actual last name) "hey btw [Katelyn's actor] I taught him everything he knows"
that scene where the foxes are rushing out of the dorm to check on their destroyed cars and Matt's actor just faceplants (Neil's actor: "wow. the dedication")
in one scene or other Allison's actress is drinking an iced drink and during one take she just keeps calmly shaking the ice around in her cup until one by one everyone cracks
in one scene Allison's actress is wearing sunglasses. and in between takes she lies down and on camera you can see Kevin and Matt's actors whispering trying to figure out whether or not she's sleeping because they can't see her eyes
Aaron's actor always using Neil's actor as a pillow during car scenes because they're always next to each other and they're actually hella tight irl
the kids love to steal any props that coach's actor needs to use (pens clipboards etc) before they start rolling just so they can watch him try to subtly fidget trying to find his prop before they get to the point in the scene where he actually needs it
all the actors just taking pictures together in the most brutal settings on set.
like Neil's makeup has his face all busted and everyone wants a selfie with him. they all have a photoshoot with the trashed cars. they have another one in front of the "happy 19th birthday junior" set. Neil is tied up at The Nest while they change his hair and Jean's and Riko's actors take selfies with him. another photoshoot with Neil handcuffed in the police car. all these settings in terrible scenes and the actors are in front of them with grins and peace signs
they're terrible.

— G. CYRUS' NOVELS
While writing, I thought it would be fun to make the novels from the story. This is how I imagine G's book covers to look like! It'll be nice to be able to see what they look like when they start getting mentioned in the story :>
And if you're wondering what kind of stories G writes ->
GUTS OF THE DIVINE
A CAREER ISN'T MADE WITHOUT SPILLING SOME BLOOD. Piper Carson is a journalist on the brink of a life-changing story. When she agrees to interview a self-proclaimed prophet at his remote cult, she gets much more than she bargained for when she finds out the members are cannibals who claim to know the date of the rapture. "A sleeper hit and a debut that not only churns stomachs but solidifies G. Cyrus as a standout voice of our generation." — Variety
AMERICAN CHERRY
ONE SCANDAL. ONE GIRL. After a life of hiding in the shadows, Cherry No Name is ready to make her debut this season at the ball. She's been overlooked too long. Invisible. Unremarkable. Cherry is determined to change her life around. Too bad her chance is cut off when she's found dead in the middle of the ball. Not only that but someone locked the doors to the estate and gave them one order: CONFESS BY MIDNIGHT OR DIE. Cherry knew too much. And in a room full of wealthy elites with secrets that could ruin everything they worked for, sometimes death is the only answer. "Not at all what you first expect from this witty satire. G manages to infuse humor in the darkest of situations. AMERICAN CHERRY is the novel of the year!" — Lauren Amber, author of SAINTS AND SINS.
CLEOPATRA AND THE SAINTS
Jackson Cruz simply wants to finish his senior year in peace. With an absent mother and a dead father, Jackson has no one but his own brother and a laundry list of problems he hardly has time to think about. That is, until he meets Cleopatra on a ledge of a building. Cleopatra opens him up to the world of illegal street racing and suddenly Jackson finds purpose. Even more when he meets The Saints—a racing crew determined to make it to the big leagues. Jackson's obsession with the Saints brings more trouble than it's worth, and he soon finds that he's willing to go great lengths to not let them slip away. Even if it means destroying himself in the process. "When G first announced the book, there was an appropriate bit of hesitation. The public wondered whether this slight genre shift would work out. Of course, those worries were baseless. With their signature gore and gallows humor that paints their narrative voice, CLEOPATRA AND THE SAINTS is G at their best." — Rudy Calloway, literary critic.

𝐍𝐎𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒 ;; nikolai lantsov
pairing ; Nikolai Lantsov x fem!Reader platonic / mentions ; tamar yul-bataar, tolya yul-bataar
outline —; Nikolai isn’t the only royal member in the Sturmhond Crew.
WARNINGS —: none.
Word Count —; 621
A/N —; just wanted to write something again, i've been stuck in a writer's rut. NOT BOOK ACCURATE. THIS IS BASED ON THE SHOW; SHADOW AND BONE. so sorry if it's short, i'll expand on this later. for now, enjoy !!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You’re whom?”
His tired question echoes, voice bouncing across the room, making Nikolai slightly bite his inner cheek. He shook his head, blonde hair messily falling over the edge of his brows. You sat with your back against the headboard, the weight of your knees covering your chest. He carefully repeated his question; “Who are you?”
You lay your cheek against your knee, a familiar smile broadly appearing across your face. A sleepy expression carried your next words, as though you weren’t thinking about what you were saying. “Secondborn Princess of Novyi Zem.” You replied with a yawn.
Nikolai sat on the edge of the bed, the fabric of the tunic fit his body perfectly, and you forced yourself not to stare. Peaking your gaze towards your clothes. He scoffed, his hand extending to your face. His fingers found their way to your chin, forcing you to look at him. With amusement evident in his voice, he said; “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Your fingers curled around his wrist, pulling it away, the absence of his touch lingered across the skin of your chin. Rolling your eyes, your head fell back against the bed’s headboard. “Sure, of course, I would tell you, Prince Nikolai.” You teased, shaking your head, arms wrapping around your legs. “You didn’t think you were the only royal one on board, did you?”
Nikolai plopped himself on the bed, with his palm on his forehead, scoffing.
No wonder you were so enticing. So polite and kind. Your posture told your status, you held your head high, shoulders on-alert, hands crossed or over each other (because, who would hold your hands if it grew cold?). Your choices were impulsive, for sure, but that was only due to the fact that the luxury of choice isn’t a right to a Princess, especially a Secondborn. The attention is with the Firstborn, the first light, the first star, the responsible, the role model.
How could Nikolai miss all those traits? The traits that made him love you deeply. In secret. With the doors locked, he would hold his aching heart, wishing that Sturmhond is his real name.
Then again, you adopted an alias. One that felt so uneasy leaving his tongue. He felt the need to say your real name, if you so kindly give him the permission to. “What is your name?” Nikolai asked, peeking down on your tired figure.
You left your spot and settled beside him, elbows touching. You said your name without looking at him, carrying the bitterness of your title alongside your identity.
“Princess…” He started slowly, maybe sleepily. His whispery voice stopped, before he turned to face you. Your gaze was still fixed on the ceiling, ignoring the Prince’s tracing eyes over your profile. “No,” He stopped, then said your name.
The weight of your responsibilities came tumbling down. And Saints didn’t matter to you anymore, the ongoing war of Ravka, destroying the Fold, Kirigan’s return… nothing mattered. Nothing. Your name never sounded so common, yet so rare. Your parents named you after a Queen, and as the saying goes, ‘Name her after a Queen and expect her to act like one.’
For a moment, you were so thankful that you were in a foreign land. One that didn’t recognize your name in its meaning. Thankful for your impulsive and rash decision that one midnight. The one night you fled, met Tamar and Tolya, and joined Sturmhond’s Crew.
The one night that changed your view in a world so cruel. That, perhaps, a stranger’s name could belong to you. But he proved you wrong. Your name belongs to you.
“Out there, Princess” Nikolai pointed to the walls, eyes closed. “In here, No titles,” Nikolai smiled.

Mochi I’m brainrotting over your secret husbands AU, are there anymore crumbs you can provide for a poor Scarian lover?
I CAN ABSOLUTELY PROVIDE MORE CRUMBS YES <- just got to class and is bored
we haven't touched on season 8 too much, have we? I think there's a lot of funny moments to be had from this season. because boatem. mumbo, impulse, and pearl. they definitely have bets in the betting pool, and you know they're going to be trying whatever they can
from pearl locking grian and scar in the g-train. to mumbo asking both grian and scar to join him on a picnic only to back out last second. to impulse making one of those cheesy "boat of love" trips in the chocolate river in his factory for them
these guys are pulling out whatever stops they can to get grian and scar together. and I think it's boatem that finally makes our married couple realize what their friends are trying to do. they don't get away with it for very long
cue scar meeting with impulse and just. starting to wax poetry about how wonderful grian is, and how much he loves him (impulse is sick of it /affectionate). cue grian moping around mumbo's base because he misses scar (he'll see him in a few hours) and he can't just tell scar he misses him (this one is true, because scar would tease him for days if he knew)
bonus points for scar bothering cub about his "grian situation" and grian bugging pearl about his "scar situation" (both are So done with their respective siblings)
impulse calls an emergency meeting. boatem is empty. grian and scar get an entertaining date night
the hat scar made for grian? has an engraving on the inside that says forever and always, light of my life. grian makes scar backup gear that's extremely mushy and scar solemnly swears to never lose it (he has it stored away in his ender chest)
the pranks!!!! pranks a plenty!!!! scar gives grian a run around over where he's building his mountain (they both know scar is going to choose his spot). scar getting stuck in bedrock is absolutely Layered with flirting upon flirting. they die in the void together, holding each other because grian tried to catch him
grian officially renames the magical menagerie to magical bebegarie for forever (once again, scar claims the charged creeper is their child now. grian is exasperated)
they pick up a habit of star gazing together in midnight alley, and have definitely fallen asleep together before. scar's started to keep a blanket up there when that happens
speaking of blankets... he's missing a few. and some of his shirts are missing. and huh, would you look at that, scar's found them in grian's nest. How Odd
though grian loves sleeping in the swaggon, it's unfair how comfortable scar's beds always are! and boy do the other members of boatem go crazy when they see grian leaving scar's base in the morning. and upon being questioned, grian and scar always say that they stayed up doing blueprints of builds together. which isn't technically a lie, sometimes. but most of the time it's a lot more... hands on ;3
and oh my god the ravager prank from big eye crew... I'm not saying grian and scar try to keep each other in their sights the entire time, but I'm definitely saying grian and scar keep each other in their sights. and after the ravagers are taken care of, they're hiding away in grian's base and cuddling for the next few hours, Do Not Disturb
also this extends far past season 8 but scar often wakes up with jellie curled on grian instead of him. he declares grian is feeding her extra treats so she'll love him more. grian denies this, but scar doesn't believe him
:D

Nero spent the next few hours poking fun at your office escapades, highly amused at the whole thing. It wasn’t the first time you and Jax had fucked in your office, but the first time everyone realised it was happening when you were in the act. You continued to work as usual, and The Club headed out for some business.
You were trying to avoid Mandy and her questions about the letter as best as you could, so you decided to spend the rest of the evening on the front desk, greeting clients and assisting the girls in assigning their rooms.
The front desk was always easy going. The phones never really rang in Diosa, only the occasional caller interested in opening times or room availability. So when the phone did ring, you always had the girls answer it. Sofia was one of the front desk staff who had been working at Diosa for only a few weeks now, she was young, blonde and always overly cheerful to everyone she met. She answered the call, before turning to look at you, holding the phone against her chest to avoid the caller from hearing her speak. “It’s for you, y/n. Says we are overdue on an invoice for maintenance services.”
“It’s almost midnight, they’re calling about a payment now?” Sofia shrugged her shoulders, and extended the phone to you. You took it from her, and placed it to your ear.
“Y/N speaking, can I help you?”
“Ah, just the voice I wanted to hear.”
You instantly recognised his voice from the night before. You felt goosebumps cover your whole body and a sickening feeling twisted in your gut. You shifted away from the incoming clientele, trying to avoid any eavesdroppers hearing you.
“Why the fuck are you calling here? If I wasn’t clear enough, you and your crew are no longer welcome at Diosa”, you were hostile in tone despite the fact you were whispering.
“Relax, sweetheart. Only wanted to ask you on a date.”
“Listen asshole, I’m not interested. Don’t ever call this number again.” You slammed the phone in the holder, but your hand never left it. You stood there, hand on the phone hook, frozen in shock at the audacity of this man. He was taunting you, first the letter, now this? What the fuck did he want?
The phone rang again and you answered it briskly, “I just told you to not fucking-”
“Shut the fuck up and listen. Otherwise your pretty President is going away for a long time.”
You didn’t respond.
“Good girl. You can take instructions after all. Now listen to me carefully. Tomorrow you’re gonna be at the diner just outside of Charming, Highway 23. Tell a member of SAMCRO and they all go to prison for exchanging AK’s across the Mexican border. This ain’t a bluff. If you aren’t there tomorrow, Jax and his shitty little club goes down for life. Do you understand me?”
You wanted to respond, but you couldn’t get your mouth to move. You were utterly broken in shock, with no repair in sight.
“Do you understand me?” he repeated.
“Yes.”
“Good girl. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Wear a sexy dress for me.”
The line hung up.
Fear had frozen you solid to your core, a feeling you hadn’t ever experienced before. Nothing usually scared you. Until now.
“Who was that?” Nero appeared behind you, making you jump. He placed his hand on your shoulder, leaning in to meet your eyes, “Easy ese, are you good?”
You swallowed back the lump that had forged in your throat. “An overdue invoice I forgot to settle. I’ll figure it out tomorrow.” Your voice cracked as you spoke.
“At this time of night? Who's the bill for?” You really didn’t need Nero’s interrogation right now.
“Maintenance. Guess they really need their money.”
“If there’s somethin’ you’re not telling me.. I can’t help you if I don’t know. We’re partners, remember?”
“Everything’s fine. Can you lock up again tonight? Jax left his keys and can’t get into the house.”
He narrowed his eyes, not buying the story you were pushing. “Get back to Jax, I can handle it tonight.” “Thanks, Nero.”
You practically ran out of Diosa, fumbling with your keys as your hands couldn’t keep up with your brain. As you drove home, you kept replaying his words in your head. He must want money, you told yourself. Why else would this guy be so up your ass? What was he getting out of threatening the club?
You recalled what Nero had told you last night, Vagos was a crew involved with the cartels south of the border. You didn’t doubt with those connections that he could have dirt to bring down The Club. You figured he must’ve seen Diosa and thought The SONS were raking it in, and he must want a piece of that. It still didn’t make sense why he would want you to be the cash mule, when it was known old lady’s had nothing to do with club business. The Club couldn’t get you out of this one, and you sure as hell couldn’t tell Jax.
Your ears were still ringing from his words, Club goes down for life. You weren’t ever going to let that happen.
You were hoping you were home early enough that Jax would still be at the clubhouse. As you pulled on the drive, you saw the hallway light was on, and he was home.
You signed to yourself, “fuck.”
You weren't sure how you could see him without him realising something was going on. Jax could read your face from a mile away.
When you got into the house, he was at the kitchen table, shirt off and covered in oil, as he wrote in his journal. He was surprised to see you, smiling ear to ear. “Hey darlin’, what are you doing home so early?” He stood from the table and embraced you, kissing you like you hadn’t been sprawled across your office desk for him that same afternoon.
“Quiet night. Nero said he could handle it.”
He peered down at you in his arms, before kissing you on the head. “I’m glad you’re back now, I was just finishing up and then gonna shower. Wanna join me? Round two?” He grinned at you and rubbed his nose against yours.
“Actually, Jax, I’m pretty tired. I was just hoping to get to bed.”
He pulled from your embrace, holding you at arms length, searching your face for what was wrong.
“Something’s up with you.”
You were pleading with his eyes for him to let it go. “I just don’t feel great. I’m fine.” It felt so wrong lying to him.
He didn’t let up, eyes completely locked with yours as he stood back. “What aren’t you telling me?”
You shook your head, hoping you could sell your lies well enough for him to back off. “Nothing, Jax. I’m okay. Just had a long few days and I’m kinda run down. But I’m okay, trust me.”
He pulled you in again, pressing your face against his chest, your cheek rubbing against his warm chest.
“Alright, I'll join you in a bit.”
You stood on your toes to reach his face, planting a kiss on his lips.
“Love you.”
“Love you more, darlin’.”
You hastily walked to the bedroom and shut the door behind you. He could see straight through you. He knew you were hiding something, he just couldn’t figure out what it was you were keeping from him.

curious about your take on spades slick…

In which, you are cordially invited to become a member of the Midnight Roses. (Not really though, they're not looking for new members.
This is probably the hardest I've ever had to think about what to do with Rose, and eventually, I decided to just say f it and make her a flapper- and sprited all four members of the midnight crew at once while I'm at it. So, from left to right- Rose Slick, Rose Droogs, Rose Deuce, and Rose Boxcars. As a whole, they're more "sophisticated" than the Midnight Crew but are still criminals
Rose Slick is ruthless and determined, but impatient
Rose Droogs is more fashionable and calculating, but takes things a little too seriously
Rose Deuce seems sweet and is more merciful than the others, but she's still a killer with a fondness for explosives
Rose Boxcars, despite her small stature, is the muscle of the group who is quiet and professional, but prone to losing her temper

PROTAGONIST POLLING

Why should you vote for these characters?
Why should you vote for the Albatrio? (1)
"Jay, Chip, and Gillion are so cool. They’re pirates in a fantasy world, but they kind of suck at being pirates and they keep SAVING ISLANDS.
Chip is an orphan who found family in the famous Black Rose Pirates, before their ship, the Midnight Rose, got caught in a horrible whirlpool. He ended up separated from everything he knew at only 9 years old. He found a gang, of sorts, led by a boy named Reuben Price. After refusing to kill a traitor and running away with a stolen boat, he tried to live up to the legacy of his caretaker on the Midnight Rose, Arlin James, and become a great pirate so that he could find him again and make him proud.
Jay Ferin is the daughter of Jayson Ferin, a well respected general in the NAVY, and Malenia “May” Ferin, the owner of a bar. Her uncle, Drey Ferin, left to go and join the Black Rose Pirates instead of be in the NAVY. Jay also trained to be a high ranking NAVY official, and her sister, Ava Ferin, was also a NAVY official before she was killed.
Chip came to the town where Jay and her mother lived and worked at their tavern, and told people stories. They ended up working together to save someone, and Chip won a bet against Jay. Since Jay lost, she agreed to join Chip’s pirate crew, and be the second member. Later, sailing the sea, they would find a fish man floating about, and he would join them too.
That brings us to Gillion Tidestrider, the third member of the up and coming pirate crew that would one day be known as the Riptide Pirates.
Gillion happened to be born on a specific day at a specific time while specific things were happening, and so was the Chosen One of the prophecy. He was so special that his parents gave him away to the elders! He endured harsh training, as he was destined to defeat evil, and also flood the world, but that’s not important yet. The elders told him that if he managed to do well, he would be accepted and loved. He never managed to do it, and despite being surrounded by people, he felt like he was alone. Except for when his sister, Edyn, visited, he was under a lot of stress. Eventually, Edyn was forced to stop visiting, but she gave him a pet frogtopus named Pretzel to keep him company. One day, the elders had a meeting with a human. Of course, Gillion had been taught that all humans were evil and that he should hate them, so he attacked the human. However, instead of being rewarded for following the teachings, he was banished from the Undersea. He was found by Chip and Jay, who let him in their pirate crew.
They had many adventures! They blew up a building, Gillion made a deal with a sketchy guy to save a town, they started a band and saved another town, they won a competition, they saved their friend and Drey Ferin from jail, they saw old friends again and Chip defeated an evil guy, and much more! And by much more, I mean the Riptide campaign is 97 episodes long not counting the Origins video and all episodes are over one hour and usually two hours. Yeah, there’s a lot of stuff."
Why should you vote for the Knight? (1)

Hey there, thanks for playing! This one features the other crows a bit more, so I hope you like it!
17. holding the other's chin up
Wylan’s heart is still hammering by the time he makes it to the safehouse. With a brief glance over his shoulder to check no one is looking, he slips in through the back door. He finds Nina and Kaz already there; Nina sitting at one end of the moth-eaten sofa and anxiously tapping her heel against the floor, Kaz half melted into the shadows, one eye on the window.
“Wylan!” Nina sounds exceptionally relieved as she stands and envelopes him in a hug. “Are you okay? Did you get hurt?”
Wylan shakes his head. “No, I’m fine.”
“Were you followed?” Kaz rasps.
“I don’t think so,” Wylan says. “I checked the rooftops too, like you said.”
Apparently satisfied with Wylan’s answer, Kaz returns to the window.
Wylan joins Nina on the sofa, tucking his knees up to his chest and trying to avoid the temptation to bite his nails. It’s a horrible habit, one he never really grew out of from childhood. He occupies himself instead with looking around. The safehouse is nothing more than a small, square room, with one door leading off from the main space to what Wylan presumes is some kind of bathroom.
Matthias is next to arrive, and Nina all but throws herself at him as soon as the door is shut behind him. Wylan chews his lip nervously. Every minute that Jesper isn’t here sends another drip of icy dread into his stomach. What if something awful has happened? What if he got cornered somewhere, with no one to help him?
He lifts his head when the door opens, hope flaring in his chest, but the figure that slinks through the door is far too small to be his boyfriend. Still, he is relieved to see another member of their crew arriving in one piece.
“Any trouble?” Kaz asks as Inej settles on one of the arms of the sofa.
Inej lowers her hood. “I was followed for a while, but I lost them.”
“You didn’t see Jesper, did you?” The question is out in the open before Wylan even makes the decision to ask it.
Inej glances at him, and her expression turns soft with understanding. “I’m afraid not. But he’ll be okay, Wylan. He knows how to handle himself.”
She smiles at him, and Wylan does his best to smile back.
They wait a while longer. Nina rummages around in one of the cupboards and digs out a tin full of almonds. They pass the tin around between them, but Wylan is too anxious to eat.
It’s just gone 12 bells, midnight, when the door to the safehouse opens and Jesper finally steps in.
Wylan barrels across the room and launches himself into Jesper’s arms. “Are you okay? Saints, I was so worried. What happened?”
“Easy, love,” Jesper says with a laugh. “I’m fine.” He presses a quick kiss to Wylan’s forehead. “I was followed and it took ages to shake them. Had to take the scenic route.”
Wylan draws in a shuddering breath and tucks himself in against the familiar warmth of Jesper’s body, face pressed into the crook of his neck. Jesper’s arms seem to wrap around him automatically as he debriefs with Kaz, detailing exactly what had happened and where he’d been.
“We’ll stay here for the night,” Kaz says.
Nina grumbles something about needing a real bed as she tries to get comfortable on the sofa, and Inej chuckles.
Wylan is still hesitant to move away from Jesper, afraid that he’ll simply disappear if he lets go. Jesper is so, so gentle as he places two fingers underneath Wylan’s chin and gently tilts it up.
Wylan feels tears pool at the corners of his eyes. “I was afraid I’d lost you,” he whispers, voice trembling.
“Oh, sunshine,” Jesper says quietly, sadly. “Not this time.”
He snatches one of the ratty cushions from the sofa, ignoring Nina’s complaint, and guides Wylan over to the other corner of the room. They curl up together on the dusty floor, Jesper’s coat thrown over them as a makeshift cover.
Wylan doesn’t think he’ll sleep, not tonight, not here, but at least he has Jesper’s arms around him.

I hope you feel better soon! Being sick sucks ass
The scene you painted with the death of Warriors’ guide hurt so much I hate you I’m screaming and dying at the same time
Thank you BB!
Also I'm about to do it again <3
Warnings: Slight mention of blood, mentions of death, another angst piece
"Abandon ship! Make way to the dinghies!"
The flames burned, the embers flying off into the starry night as the fire ate away at the wood of the grande ship. It was something from a painting the way that the orange blazed, reflecting off the dark waters and colouring the black sky for yards around- almost beautiful as it was tragic.
Link wasn't sure what to do. No, he didn't have clue as he watched the crew run about like headless chickens, gathering any supplies they could that would be hauled back to New Hyrule that was a mere dot in the far distance.
Tetra was in a similar state, frozen by his side, a mixture of horror and sadness plastered on her young face as she witnessed the scene unfold- the young hero knew that guilt was eating at her conscious, spotting the fallen mates within puddles of their own blood just beside the remains of monsters, left behind after poofing from existence.
She hadn't done enough- he hadn't done enough-
And now (Name)'s ship was paying the price.
"Make sure those boxes reach the mainland!" They barked, blood running down their forehead as they tugged their right hand man close by their hook hand, "The country needs those supplies- and by the goddess they will get them!"
"Yes, Captain!"
(Name)'s gaze snapped towards the two, pushing the right hand away towards another hanging dinghie before hobbling quickly towards them, their peg leg creating a dull thump each time it met the wood of the planked floor. "You two! Haul arse! Get on those boats!"
Reality seemed to hit Tetra harshly when (Name) grabbed her shirt's scruff roughly, right and crying out. She refused. This wouldn't be it. She would continues to fight- she would not let their ship come to pass!
But the captain wasn't having that, tossing her into one of the boats with a few more members and demanding they left- screamed that they get away.
Their teary eyes were ignored as they slowly lowered themselves, Tetra's raged screaming dimming from the roar of the fire.
Link looked at them with wide, glossy eyes as they stomped back over. "Did you not here me, Link?! I said move!"
His scruff was grabbed this time, the younger teen being dragged towards another boat, this time only holding their right hand as he waited patiently for his next orders.
Link was thrown in after a second, secured by the hand of the older man when he tried to leap back out. "What about you?! There's nothing left for this boat!"
The young blonde already knew this answer of course. It was near law, written into the code of the pirates that Tetra and many others had seemed to parrot when he questioned those clashing tales of those cut-throat captains meeting such timely deaths on the decks of their ships.
"A captain will always go down with their ship!" Pulling out their trusty sword, (Name) slashed at the ropes holding up the small boat. "Let them know I died loyal to her, hero!"
They watched from afar as the sea swallowed the ship, the orange earlier dusting the sky slowly fading until only the lights of the stars reflected off those waters of midnight blue. Their crew bowed their heads in respect, sending blessings to their captain's ocean burial before they would begin to move to the shores of New Hyrule.
It was the last they would ever see of Capatin (Name), Guide to the great Hero Link.
And you couldn't help but lend out your hand towards the young pirate, his lip wobbling slightly with eyes growing misty before you pulled him to rest against your shoulder. You cooed, gently running a hand through his hair and hushing his heavy cries.
It seemed death followed all the incarnations that those men held so dearly.

Supermoon – Chapter One | Read on Ao3
- / Next
— ☾ —
The end crystal swirls upon its bedrock base, its purple core inscribed with the language of the Universe no living thing is quite old enough to remember the translation for. The air around it is hazy, the greyscale background too foggy to fully make out.
The image shifts, and moves to reveal another block of bedrock—a pillar—a few blocks away from the first. The space between the two bases is odd; they don’t quite sit side by side, but rather appear to be on a diagonal of sorts. Another end crystal flares to life upon this second spot.
It’s with the third crystal on its matching block that the silent ex-Watcher’s—the unwilling observer—eyes flare wide. Fear chokes a throat irreverent to his current state. His vision clears slightly, the perspective backing up just enough to make out a circle of ten short bedrock pillars, three topped with end crystals that crackle with movement in the stagnant scene. Harsh purple lines cut across marble floor, connecting each piece of the puzzle.
He wants to scream. His voice won’t answer his summons. He is trapped, watching, unable to move—
Grian gasps awake, scrambling upright before his mind fully catches up with his body. His chest heaves with the force of it, heart pounding in his ears. Adrenaline flares his wings and shakes his fingers; he needs to go, now.
He blinks, once, twice. Around him, his fellow Boatem members start to stir, the rustle of sleeping bags and long, tired sighs filling the air. Pearl is the first to fully awaken, stifling a yawn behind her hand and looking at Grian with sleep-heavy eyes.
“Morning, mate,” she offers in greeting, her fluffy antennae bobbing softly above her head, before frowning at the sight of him, concern wrinkling her brow. “Rough night?”
Belatedly, Grian becomes aware of how crazed he must look. His feathers are a fluffy mess behind him, and his eyes are wide with the haunted air of someone who’s seen a ghost.
He waves a hand as nonchalantly as he can muster, and mutters excuses that sound nonsensical even to his own ears. Grabbing the red jumper by his pillow and tugging it over his t-shirt, Grian is up and out of the door before Pearl has time to ask more questions.
The Boatem crew had held one of their sleepovers the night before, this week in Pearl’s starter base, and with how frazzled Grian is feeling, he is momentarily startled to see the sepia tones of her base instead of the stone of his own as he steps outside. Distractedly, he thinks about how well Pearl’s boat matches the autumnal tones of the trees around them as Grian races up the path of his house, through the partially finished interior, to the hollowed out space behind the painting on the back wall.
The wooden frame creaks as Grian shoves it aside, and the space behind it is dark, illuminated only by the torch Grian summons from his inventory.
It’s gone. The corner where Grian had stashed the dragon egg, each block around it obsidian to obscure and protect it, lays empty. His dream was right, then. They usually are, but Grian had desperately wished, just this once, that he would’ve been wrong.
The Watchers have Hermitcraft’s dragon egg, and doom is imminent unless Grian does something incredibly risky and possibly very stupid.
He hates to admit it, but Grian’s going to need help. Someone he can trust his back to, someone else familiar with that wretched realm.
Grian flies back to Pearl’s base.
She’s inside the kitchen, scrambling eggs and frying bacon when Grian finds her.
“Pearl, Pearl,” he says, in a hushed, urgent whisper so as not to disturb the other still sleeping members of the house. He jabs a thumb towards the door, and Pearl squints at him, before shrugging and turning off the stove.
His sister is quick to meet him outside, still in her pajamas. Pearl stretches, her midnight blue moth wings unfurling and catching the morning sun. She leans against one of the pillars that flanks either side of the door and looks at Grian expectantly, with a raised brow and slight tilt of her head.
Grian takes a deep breath in hopes of steadying his still-racing heart. “They’ve got the egg.”
Pearl needs no more explanation to understand. She sobers and straightens up. “How much time do we have?”
“Until the next full moon.” Three days. “Pearl, I,” Grian’s voice lowers, “I think they’re starting the ritual.”
Grian watches Pearl’s eyes widen slightly before narrowing with grim, steely determination, a look he hasn’t seen on her for a long time. “Then we’ve got to go.”
“Where’re you guys going?” a voice behind Pearl asks, causing them both to jump. Impulse stands in the doorway of Pearl’s boat, looking between the pair with curiosity. Behind him, Scar peeks over Impulse’s shoulder with a mug of coffee he got from who knows where, tiredness lining his frame but with cheer on his face nonetheless.
“Ah,” Grian starts, just as Pearl says, “We—”. They both break off, Grian making a sound that might’ve been a chuckle if he were less stressed.
“We have business to attend to,” Grian decides on.
“Oh? What kind?” Impulse questions. The man has asked very reasonable questions up to this point, but Grian’s sweating like he’s being interrogated with a crossbow aimed at his head.
“Er... mining! Yeah, mining. I’m running low on.. diamonds,” Grian lies.
Unfortunately, it’s a rather terrible lie, and Impulse slowly looks to the line of hourglasses at the end of the village, Grian’s overflowing with diamonds, and back at Grian.
“At this early in the morning?” Mumbo chimes in, appearing from within the boat.
“Oh, you know. Early bird gets the worm and all that.” Grian waves a hand around.
“Grian, I’ve known you for many years and love you dearly. You’ve never once in your life been an early bird.” Mumbo pats Grian on the shoulder.
“I tried to get him to eat a worm once,” Pearl comments.
Grian whirls towards her. “That is not helping, Pearl!”
“The real question is, did he eat it?” Scar asks, tapping a finger to his chin.
“No, but I caught him trying one later that day.”
Grian thinks he might like to throttle his sister.
“Well? How was it?” Scar turns to him now.
“Turns out, being part bird doesn’t make a bird’s diet any more appealing.” Grian shrugs before remembering the impending doom at hand. “Anyway, this is all completely irreverent! Pearl and I’ve got to go, now.”
“Grian, buddy, we know you’re not really going mining. What’re you up to that requires such haste?” Impulse’s face is as kind as ever, but there’s a seriousness to its edges now.
Grian really doesn’t want to lie to his closest friends, but he knows the second he fesses up, they’re all going to volunteer their help and not take no for an answer. Grian usually appreciates such a quality, but the task at hand is dangerous. He can’t get them hurt.
He looks at Pearl for help. She gives the tiniest shrug, before turning back to the awaiting audience.
“The Watchers have the dragon egg. Under the right circumstances, they will be able to perform a ritual to cross from their realm into ours.” She pauses. “Those circumstances happen to be three days from now, and Grian and I are going to go stop them.”
The three are stunned silent for a moment. Even Impulse, with the best poker face among them, looks surprised. They know of the Watchers, from the bits and pieces Grian and Pearl have shared. Grian hasn’t said much. He suspects Pearl’s given an equal amount of information.
“What’re we waiting for, then?” Scar steps forward, coffee cup forgotten somewhere behind him. Impulse and Mumbo echo the sentiment.
“There is no ‘we’. Pearl and I are going, you guys are staying here. It’s too risky.” Grian shakes his head.
“What, did you expect us to just say yep, we are totally okay with letting two of our friends waltz off to deal with some power hungry cult completely by themselves, while we stay home and twiddle our thumbs? We don’t want you guys to get hurt, either,” Impulse argues.
“And while you’re both plenty capable, you have to admit, we work well as a team,” Mumbo reasons.
“We could help a ton! I’ve got my vex-y magic, and Impulse and Mumbo are both redstone geniuses.” Scar flashes his best salesman smile, wiggling his brows and showing his teeth.
“I don’t doubt any of your abilities, the real fact of the matter is that it’s extremely dangerous, let alone to someone not familiar with the Watchers’ realm or their tricks, and I’m not taking the risk with any of you.” Grian folds his arms and tries to shove back the growing wave of anxiety in his chest.
Impulse stubbornly shakes his head. “We don’t want to take that risk with you. Either of you. You’re family, and family sticks together. Besides, if anything it’s a few extra pairs of eyes on your side, right?”
“It could be helpful,” Pearl concedes with a tilt of her chin, to Grian’s dismay.
“Come on,” Scar says in his most charming, persuasive voice. There’s a glint in his eye that Grian knows all too well.
Grian raises a brow. “If we don’t let you come, you’re going to follow us anyway, aren’t you.”
“Pretty much!” Impulse smiles cheerfully.
“You’re all terrible,” Grian deadpans, but he can’t quite stop the exasperated, affectionate huff that escapes his mouth. The looks he gets in response read we know, and you love us anyway.
“So! Now that we’re all on board.. how are we supposed to stop the Watchers…?” Scar asks.
“Yeah, yeah. Everyone go get ready and meet me at my starter in half an hour.” Grian tugs at his jumper. “I’ve got a plan.”
— ☾ —
Half an hour later, the Boatem crew is fully dressed, gear tucked away in packs and inventories, spread out around a spruce table completely covered by a large map inside Grian’s starter base.
“Aright, gang,” the owner of the house starts, “here’s the plan.” Grian taps a finger against the Boatem village on the map. “We’re here.”
“Aw, we look so tiny,” Scar coos.
Ignoring him, Grian traces a finger out of the village and follows one of the path roads, until reaching a point where the road ends and continuing upwards through unmarked forests and hills.
“The portal to the Watcher’s realm will be located in the third stronghold out. I don’t know where specifically it is, but I do know it’s somewhere north from here.” Grian looks up. “Impulse, can you gather enough eye of enders to account for them breaking?”
Impulse nods, and pulls out a handful of ender pearls from the satchel on his belt, where he always keeps them.
“The other dynamic to keep in mind is the Watchers themselves. They love their tricks, especially anything that makes you question your own reality. Keep your wits about you, and stick close to the group no matter what,” Grian continues.
Scar raises a hand. “If the Watchers need the egg thingamabob to reach Hermitcraft, how do they have a portal here already?”
Pearl answers before Grian can, pulling up her gloves that stop partway up her fingers. “While they don’t have full access to the world, they’re able to reach spots in the code that are weaker than the border around it, such as portals to the Nether and End. My guess is that they will have altered the End portal into a one-way gateway into their realm instead.”
“So the plan is to… find the stronghold, jump into the portal, grab the egg, and come back?” Mumbo summarizes.
This is where Grian draws the line. “Partially.” He says, shaking his head. “The Watchers’ realm isn’t meant for the unconditioned mind.” He hates the phrase. “I’m letting you come with us through the overworld, but only Pearl and I will be going through the portal.”
At the sounds of protest, Grian interrupts with, “You got to compromise with going at all, I get to compromise with this. I will dig you into a hole and take your pickaxes.” He’s bluffing with the threat, mostly, but he’s not risking them.
After a moment of charged silence, Impulse finally sighs and says, “fine,” and the tension is broken.
“When do we leave, boss?” Scar gives Grian a silly salute.
Grian smiles, despite the weight that’s been so suddenly placed on his shoulders. Burdens aren’t anything new to him, nor really is the ache present now, but perhaps if he tells himself it’s fresh, he will be filled with the renewed strength to lift it.
“Last question, uh, how are we planning to get there?” Mumbo asks.
“Well, you remember Impulse’s pig-in-a-minecart, right?” Pearl jokes.
When his giggles die down, Grian ponders this. Elytra can only go so far until they need to be mended, and there won’t be any real way to do so in the middle of nowhere. Even his and Pearl’s natural wings would need fairly frequent rests; they’re both strong fliers, but not optimized for long distances. Beyond that, following an eye of ender in midair is terribly difficult.
“Horses?” he suggests.
Soon afterwards, five horses stand fully tacked up outside of Scar’s stable; and the riders preparing to mount are adjusting jackets, lacing up shoes, and ensuring anything outside of inventories is securely stowed away. Above them, grey clouds obscure the midday sun, not so dark as to promise rain, but heavy enough to be thinking about it.
“We ready?” Grian calls out after he’s swung up into his saddle, eyes of ender heavy in the bag at his hip. Scar gives a thumbs up beside him, and the other three chorus their agreement.
With one final glance around the village, Grian taps his heels against his horse’s sides, and they’re off, heading for the storm that kisses the horizon ahead.
