magic armour appreciation

Glass Armor. First introduced in Morrowind as a High Elven design mass-produced for warriors in service to the Dark Elven god-king Vivec, a Gigeresque mass of neon green shards of volcanic glass set into elegant silver plates. It then gradually evolved into the more tame Ray Lederer design we all know and love from Skyrim. Both designs suit the High Elves of their respective games very well, but what sort of armors would they be constructing in their homeland? I wanted to design something beyond extravagant, purely decadent, calling to mind Art Nouveau sensibilities and even some influence from architecture, with the inlays resembling stained glass windows, and each individual plate resembling a flower petal or insect wing. Underneath the plates is a suit of scale mail, with each individual scale inlaid with a glass gem. I would love to see this design implemented into a mod as some sort of artifact from the High Elven homeland.

The crown that twilight wears is part of the magic armor??

Not exactly, I can't cover this topic fully because there would be various spoilers, but I try to explain what I can.

What you see in this illustration is the Cursed Temple, home to the Masked Gods and forbidden place for mortals.

Twilight explores this huge temple before finding the gods, there he stumbles upon a secret room, he feels pervaded by an energy that draws him and there he finds the crown and the belt.

By wearing them he gains greater strength than he ever had, not enough to defeat the gods because he is still a mortal though. But the crown and the belt greatly increase his strength, which allows him to face the gods.

The magical armor according to my story was an enchanter's attempt to reproduce these two objects he discovered while reading ancient stories. The difference between these two is that one uses powerful and ancient magic, the other uses rupees to make you more protected, but that is just a spell.

Small addition - After killing Twilight, however, the gods wanted to recover the two artifacts, but Twilight was transported to the twilight realm before that they could take them back.

My new TP Link wig that I just finished styling as a part of my Magic Armor Link upgrades for Crown! I was going for more of the wispy, realistic look portrayed in the artwork pieces. I want to make Ordon Village Link and remake his green tunic look and already had a wig on hand for it, so I figured I might as well go for styling it now 😁

Base wig is an Arda Wigs Ken in Dark Ash Blonde. I did extensive plucking and ventilating into the hairline to feather it and add more direction to make it look more natural. I plucked and cross knotted the side part. The rest is knotted away from the face to add gravity defying lift to the bangs, and the hair slowly angles downwards on the sides.

I did some light crimping and combing out on the interior of the bangs, followed by teasing them into an anti-gravity poof. After that, I trimmed and layered the bangs and side pieces. I used a steamer to tame and shape the bangs, and a hair straightener to add a little bit of wave throughout and flips to the ends for texture. The final step was going in with several shades of Copic markers to add more lowlights and color variation like Link's hair in the game!

Crimping and teasing is magic, this wig doesn't have any hairspray in it yet! I'm going to try to avoid adding spray or gel to it except to tame flyaways since it's going to need some styling TLC anyway after being worn under the Magic Armor crown. Once I'm going I wear it for Ordon or green tunic Link then I'll give it the full sturdy styling treatment 😅

Renaissance World tour: Show 17 - Night 2, the Johan Cruyff Arena - Amsterdam (6/18/23). Beyoncé wore all black designers during this show, in honor of Juneteenth, which was the next day. She wore a custom silver armored bodysuit and boots by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain.
