I have no idea who made this image. A friend sent it to me on WhatsApp, claiming to have found it on Pinterest. All I know is that I adore this drawing with all my being, FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! Loyalty

Nami casted eyes at her one and only friend. He sat just beside her in the grass on the river bed with a small smile caressing his face. Only a year younger, he had proved himself wise beyond his years. She could stare at him all day.

She had something on her chest, something she had to tell him. Upon meeting him that day, Nami had merely forgotten the anxiety of the news that had her fearing the days ahead. As time would have it, she acknowledged the peace and happiness he brought to her. It only meant one thing. She loved him and could not possibly go on without letting him know.

Soon Luffy was nodding off, eventually snuggling into the crook of his arm. As much as Nami wanted to allow him chance to rest, it was almost time to go home so she panicked. This might be the last time they would see each other again.

"Luffy," Nami said. She shook his shoulder. "Luffy, wake up."

Luffy rubbed his eyes and sat up. A slight warm pressure came in contact with his lips and his eyes popped wide open. His friend was mere inches away from his nose.

"Did you just...?"

Luffy's mouth hung open. No more words could find him. His tanned cheeks coloured red.

"I love you. If I return home now, I will not be able to see you again... for I am to be married. My parents arranged it. I have not met him as yet; if you feel the same, please run away with me and make me your wife."

"Parents?" Luffy questioned. Last thing he remembered her saying was that she was an orphan.

"I'm sorry for lying to you."

There were a lot of things she hid from him. He need not know of her background. He barely cared.

"I've lied too."

They exchanged looks and chose not to think of the past but only of now and both their futures.

Luffy never spoke much of himself. She only knew of his hopes and dreams. He spoke much of a country of freedom and peace with plenty to eat. Never spoke of who he was or where he came from. He knew, to her surprise, right away that she was not from these lands.

"Things really are changing. Soon this country will welcome a new king and I am to lose my best friend."

"Run away with me, Luffy. If you love me, run away with me. Please."

"I do love you."

Nami's heart gladdened.

"But not enough to run away with you."

Luffy stood and Nami scrambled for his hand, holding it fast with both hands. She was now on her knees.

Luffy pulled her up and stared into her eyes. The last thing he expected her to do was beg. Nami was not planning to.

He wiped her tears and brought her close. To her face, he placed a kiss and her hands gripped his shirt.

Nami wept.

In those times, life was not very kind to women. Like children, they were expected to do as told and to follow orders and duties. Running away was not the only means of escape but she valued her life.

Meeting Luffy and getting to know him in the short space of time she did was a blessing. Those memories, she would press and keep close to her heart forever.

"You're stronger than this, Nami."

Nami dabbed at the last bit of tears and smiled.

"I know."

Luffy smiled too.

"He will be lucky to have you. I hope he grows to appreciate you not only for your radiance but for all that you are. You are smart, caring, and kind. You are my muse."

Nami searched his face. Her body warmed and she kissed him again, taking delight in his little yelp and shy demeanor. As a man of only 17, he did not appear to have much experience with women.

"Save those for your husband."

"What if he is a tyrant?"

"I'll kick his ass."

Nami laughed.

"Promise?"

"You know where to find me."

Goodbye was upon them and Nami grew desperate.

"Why will you not have me, Luffy? Do you have a lover?"

Luffy cocked a brow. "What made you think that?"

Nami shrugged. She had accepted his rejection but her pride needed to know why.

"I do not deserve you."

Before Nami could protest, before she could say that he was the finest and greatest of men she had ever met, he went on to say, "My loyalty lies elsewhere."

His answer was a lot heavier than she expected but it was enough. It gave her peace.

Their goodbye was cordial. And although Nami knew it was the last time she would ever see him again, she was glad she met him.

Finally playing Idol Land and being able to buy/collect all these coords again has finally made me want to do something I haven't wanted to do in a long, long time. And that something is...

At long last, reopen up my old PriPara binders, the ones which have been gathering dust in a corner for three years, and take a trip down memory lane. To look at all of all my old favorite coords, and remember all the struggles I've had collecting them.

And now, I feel like I need to explain a thing. For all the people joining promises with me and judging how much money I'm spending haha ha...

I said in a previous post that once I bought Yui/Nino's Yume Rares I'd be basically all set with all the coords I really really wanted to buy (except for Shion's SCR). But honestly, I was afraid that after looking through my binders that feeling might change. But actually it did not. There were a few coords I'd forgotten about which I'm hoping get re-released, but actually I'm honestly shocked at how many of my favorite coords have been released already such as the Paint Bat coord and the Marching coords, Aroma's initial PR, Hibiki's coords, etc.

But anyway.

I also found all my old tickets for all the coords I bought today and yesterday.

Remember, on the arcade game you could not directly buy coords. It was GATCHA. ONLY.

First up is Nino's team Yume Rare.

This one actually wasn't that bad.

I got the shoes on January 6th 2018, the accessory on January 18th, and the onepiece on January 26th. All with Luna.

(This is with spending at least one day a week most weeks like all day at the arcade tho.......)

Now let's look at Nino's initial Yume Rare.

First, I actually got the onepiece on August 16th, 2017. Then I got the shoes on August 25th.

I then got the accessory... on OCTOBER 3rd.

And it wasn't even while I was playing Luna! That's a Hinode ticket ahaha.

And as for Yui's initial Yume Rare. Umm...

I NEVER GOT IT.

It looks like Hinode got the accessory on June 25th 2017 but the other tickets are from randos. I bought it online way after the gatcha ended.

I definitely remember the struggle with this coord. I remember thinking the design was a total mess and convincing myself I didn't want it. It's not Luna's style.

But the more I stared at it. The more I just... noticed how complex it was, and all the little details here and there and I just... I dunno!

(Spongebob voice: I don't need it... I don't need it....)

And finally after months, MONTHS of pining, at some point I finally caved and bought it online through nefarious (unofficial) means. Because the arcade game wouldn't take my money to give it to me. (Okay no, no, it DID take my money but--)

Flash forward to today. Here's my character wearing the full coord on Idol Land.

Here it is, I bought it, done.

It is far more anticlimactic this way. But then again, would I have wanted to gatcha for it again? No no no no nooo.

I really do love this coord so much and I'm so happy to see the new version of my character in it. It looks even better on her now.

The sibling excuse part 2

Now another reason why I believe this sibling label is nothing more than an excuse is due to the fact that there is a popular ship in the series with little to no arguments about them that are practically identical to lunami in all departments from age difference to personalities to interactions/moments, the ship I’m referring to is sabo x koala.

Now this ship has nearly no haters or critics and is often praised as an expected ship like ussop and kaya or shanks and makino,

Now moving onto the similarity’s let’s go down to the specifics of just how similar sabo and koala is to luffy and nami. So koala is currently 23 and sabo is 22 having a year gap between their age similar to how nami is 20 and luffy is 19. Now both koala and nami both have a thing in common they both lost their parents at a very young age and have ties to the fishmen in their past, whereas luffy and sabo spent part of their childhood together doing stuff together. Both luffy and sabo seem to frequently leave their hats to nami and koala too.

Koala/Nami has grown up to fake their emotions and hide her true feelings, but when they met Sabo/Luffy, she expresses a wide range of real and legitimate emotions, some of which are made to exclusively to them. Oda has shown their anger, them taking care of, smiling towards , and worrying for their member of ASL all in very similar circumstances.

Koala/Nami also keeps Sabo/Luffy in check with his recklessness and density. It is typical in shonen pairings to have a female (tsundere) be the level headed and more careful personality in the relationship,

You can see they yells at the guys for not taking things too seriously, but are really worried about their safety at the same time. They even comedically stretches luffy/sabos cheeks as they scolds him for his obliviousness. Here we don’t see any reaction from Sabo/Luffy, as they are the dense male, but we can understand that these two share a great relationship. They are the hot headed female who is the “care-taker” of a male character and comedically refutes wanting to do that but in reality she would stand by him till the very end no matter what happens.

Next, is nami/koala are hown to be very emotional and crying towards the reaction that Sabo/Luffy have gotten from losing Ace. They was worried and even cried for him, showcasing a bond that transcends traditional familiarity.

So anyways back to the main point I’ve seen countless of countless of rival shippers and “no romance on the crew” preachers say they are in support of this ship ,that this ship will be canon, they act like an old couple,they are like lovebirds. But yet when it’s luffy and nami who have the exact same interactions and similar personalities they are like siblings. Something isn’t adding up showing that that “sibling” claim is nothing more than people finding a way to push down the ship and showing a lot of people are being hypocritical.
