SHUT. UP. Stop destigmatizing autism by throwing us under the bus. Not having empathy doesn’t make us worse, and you should be asking ableists why having less empathy is bad, not validating peoples opinions on low/no empathy peeps.
And that’s not even getting into the fact that some autistic people ARE UNEMPATHETIC. You are literally only hurting people.

I'm really sick and tired of how much people with high empathy enjoy hijacking and derailing posts about low/no empathy.
It seems like every post as simple as "having low or no empathy is fine, actually" is met by a bunch of people in the notes saying "oh, but isn't high empathy also valid? You excluded us :("
High empathy people are never hated on for having high empathy. Not ever. They aren't treated like monsters. People don't talk seriously or even just joke about throwing them all in jail or having them killed.
Empathy comes with so many privileges I can't breathe, yet they are insistent that everything has to be about them. They can't even imagine how hard it is to exist on the internet with low/no empathy dealing with all the vile hatred, even if they can "empathize", whatever that means.
Petition to keep people with empathy from hijacking posts about low/no empathy talking about our struggles or trying to spread positivity. They are more than capable of showing support, if they have any to spare, or ignoring us entirely. You'd think an empath could read the room.

A lot of low/no empathy positivity are stuff like 'you're not an asshole! Don't feel bad about yourself!' and yeah that's important but also. Having low/no empathy is fucking great. I love how I can give good advice sometimes and sometimes I can't say a single word, it's so silly and I love how that's a part of my personality. I love myself and I love having low empathy

I think I get excited about the wrong things
Like, I immediately think "oooh, cool" Or "wow that's fascinating" and then have to say "oh can't say that to this thing or people will get upset" and it's not fun.
I'm not bad, right? Like, it's not bad to think something is cool or interesting even if it makes some people confused or think I'm weird?

Ok I need some opinions from fellow low/no empathy autistics.
Do you find that people base the way they act on their empathy way too much?
Like- I’ve come to realise that when empathetic people don’t understand others they just straight up hate them, think they’re weird or annoying or gross.
They don’t know how to have kindness without that empathy first. And then accuse me of being heartless.
I just wanna see if this is an empathy thing or something else that I’m picking up.

Tried to explain that I experience low (maybe no) empathy to my family counselor and he immediately came back with telling me I was wrong and actually just experiencing hypervigilance, as if the two things were somehow mutually exclusive
#also in explaining why he thought I experience empathy he literally just described me masking and being hypervigilant like. buddy this is#why I usually don’t bother explaining this shit to people irl#they have fallen for my mask too hard and straight refuse to believe me when I say my actual experience of the world is different to how it#seems from the outside#I did call him on it and say it was a shitty thing to do#so hopefully he actually internalizes that and learns not to immediately contradict patients when they try to explain their experiences#just a reminder that therapists can suck#low empathy#no empathy#low/no empathy
