Here’s a video of all the glosses (and the lipstick) that came with the Gingy calendar
Top: Charming
Middle: Farquaad
Bottom: Three Pigs Lipstick
Since I bought this for the Charming, and I’m claiming myself the aficionado…
We won.
It’s cherry scented so hard. It’s glittery. And when it’s worn, it looks exactly like it’s from the movie. It’s that pretty, almost natural pink, and the gloss isn’t too sticky.
Rating: 🥰 mmm cherry flavor~ /10
The Farquaad lipgloss is NOTICEABLY more red. It smells like strawberries!! And it has that same sort of texture as the Charming one, so it’s a winner in my book. I haven’t given it a wear test yet, but I’m sure it’ll be a hit.
Honestly, I hope someone from Makeup Revolution sees this because I need the Charming lipgloss as a permanent product in a full size. It makes me unbelievably happy. 😭
FARQUAAD MAKES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN, and with FLYING COLORS!!!! This is DEFINITELY a contender for the silliest thing I've ever drawn. And I'm well aware that I'm essentially jumpscaring everyone for no good reason. It's actually pretty funny. There was no build up to this moment. I wish I could say I'm sorry but I'm really not.
As a small act of mercy, I’ll give you a little bit of context. Earlier this year, I was on a BIG shrek kick. Like, deep in the shrek fandom. Obsessed with the characters. Lore. Watching the movies. (over and over.) And I had the idea to make prints of each shrek villain. So I did jack horner and fairy godmother. I started farquaad, but I never finished coloring him. Filling in the flat colors was just tedious and I didn’t feel like working on it anymore. But recently I closed commissions, and I want to work on prints again. So after working on a comm yesterday, I revived this bad boy. Once I saw it with fresh eyes, I tweaked the colors and worked on the lighting and such. And tadaa!! He’s all done and ready to be print-ified. Next is prince charming >:).
I hope I didn’t scar you too much. I’m actually pretty happy with this, even after all the months that have passed. Watching that clip of him in his bedroom brought back SO many memories of making this drawing. Piecing together the rough layout of his room, planning the perspective - there was a LOT of details involved, like the FGM one. I actually laid down on a blanket at some point and had my sister take reference pictures of me in all these stupid poses. UHHH Those are on my old phone though so I can’t share *Starts sweating nervously*.
I’m excited to add him to my store!! I’ll be sure to make another post when I have the prints all ready to go.
Look! I thought of the worst ship ever! I was incredibly uncomfortable while drawing it but my housemate’s horrified face and loud “No!” every time I showed her my progress made it all worth it and I hope you will experience the same joy by exposing unsuspecting victims you love very much to it.
I was in the ensemble of a high school theater production of Shrek the musical where lord Farquaad was played by Elon Musk. And I hate to admit it, but he absolutely bodied the role.
“The moral of Shrek is that a woman would rather marry a hideous ogre than a short man,” actually the moral is that men will literally call for a woman’s execution as soon as she’s not thin and pretty. Did you miss the part where Fiona turns into an ogre and suddenly Lord Fuckwad is like “What is that THING? It’s hideous! Guards, kill it!” like he knew that was still Fiona right? Fiona was willing to work it out and get to know Fuckhead even though she wasn’t crazy about dating a short guy but Lord Fuckboy went right to kill mode when she wasn’t everything he wanted.
Here are some attempts at drawing Lord Farquaad! I’m not super happy with how all these turned out, but this was basically me figuring out how to draw him. (especially the last slide - those were my first attempts) Drawing this guy is basically the exact opposite of Jack Horner, except they have the same hair. Which made me realize: they probably made Jack Horner big specifically as a contrast to Farquaad. But they still have notable similarities, like how they both want power and hate fairy tale creatures.
After watching the first movie for the first time in a while, I feel like Farquaad is definitely the most evil shrek villain. (You can contest me on this, but I’d be curious to hear your thoughts 🤔) The part where he’s torturing Gingy… kinda dark? Also I realized - although it’s probably supposed to be obvious - he chose to torture him specifically because he’s the only one he’s significantly bigger than.
Anyway I hope you like these, and I hope you’re having a good week so far :D
