54 hours into a 114 and if you think hunger pangs are the worst thing about fasting you'd be wrong. Hunger pangs happen for maybe 20 minutes a couple times a day. The worst part is actually boredom. You don't realize just how much food is used as amusement and time-passing until you can't.

What if when Temrash 114 infested Jake, towards the end of his three-day deadline, the Yeerk chose instead to morph into something and took the 2 hour deadline of morphing instead, basically spitting in the Animorphs face's that Jake would be forever lost to them.
Marco would kill Jake. He wouldn't like it, but he'd give the order. And Rachel would become the one to actually strike the blow.

ummmmmm. something something normal being the only one to actually empathize with the doodler before they were dood and teenshaped and being the only one to empathize with hermie when hermie was alive. that's it that's the thought.

no one has explored the idea of darius and camila co-parenting hunter enough. like where the hell are the fics about darius calling camila asking if hunter left his derby uniform at her house or camila personally going to drop off hunter at his dad's house and sharing a cup of tea with him while she asks about hunter's grades at hexside and darius asks about hunter's sleeping habits and if she had any human alternatives to sleeping nettles that might help him sleep without the dream-enhancing side effect.
what about camila inviting darius to stay for dinner when he comes to drop off hunter at his mom's house and darius asking for the recipe and then asking the kids what ingredients he could substitute and which ones have to stay the same. or camila specifically adding three more lines to her phone plan-- one for vee, one for hunter, and one for darius so that they can keep in contact more easily. or hunter getting in trouble at school for picking a fight with boscha but when principal bump calls, darius is extremely busy with work so he calls camila and asks her to handle it.
maybe darius gets in an argument with hunter and he cant tell where he went wrong and calls camila and she listens and gives him her advice as someone whose been a parent for fourteen years vs. his own eight months. or camila opens up to darius about her own struggles with losing her husband and he opens up with his own grief over losing his mentor. or they talk on the phone for hours and gossip with each other. maybe darius comes over to hang out with camila and binge watch a new show with her while the kids are at school

why the deep sigh before saying you’re a natural redhead lol
Several reasons!
For context this is in response to my answer in the "rb in the tags what would be the physical feature used to identify you in fanfiction of you if you were a fictional character" post a few days ago and the TL;DR is the redheads get stereotyped in specific ways I hate.
Large ass rant below (hey you asked lol)
For a lot of people, redheaded women are a fetish. ( When I was younger, I had people date me who later stated they just wanted to cross off dating a redhead, they didn't actually want a relationship, and my personal favorite, that they would never date someone who "wasn't skinny" but made an exception bc I'm a redhead. I've been offered a LOT of sex and a LOT of threesomes, because I'm a bucket list item and they will say so, to my face, in person. Like many things in life, there's a line between a preference or appreciation or even a "type" --and a fetish. The later being an issue because you're no longer seen as a person but an object, and people will make that creepily, disgustingly clear.
2. It's a stereotyped personality. Redhead's are crazy/hot tempered/insane (see: that one dude from Fruits Basket and I cant even pick a female character theres so fucking many) crazy in bed (one example among hundreds is We're the Millers "Eh she's a redhead there's a 50/50 chance she'd be into it") Soulless (I actually used that one to get through High School by insisting I was collecting souls to pay for my fire-lake front mansion, shouts out to South Park lmao), and many more. The redheaded step-child, the vixen, the other women, etc.
I have had my hair color come up in job interviews, with teachers, with coaches or trainers and even in situations as a kid where I was essentially asked "Hello kid I just met, you're a redhead, are you going to behave for me?" Related, my parents got a LOT of praise because I was quiet. Throughout my life the most common "praise" I have received is that I am "not a typical redhead" bc I am "calm."
You still see a lot of this bleed into fanfiction, but you used to REALLY see it bleed into fanfiction lol.
Addendum to both points above--the fetish, hot, good in bed thing typically only applies to conventionally attractive women.
Redheaded men are "ugly", and if you don't fit into the current but ever changing Socially Acceptable Hot Chick Look, then you're in for it. This includes weight, skin color/tone, freckles, type of hair, fuckin' eye color sometimes, the list goes on.
I vaguely recall someone who was doing a media study about how the male "problem child" in media is typically portrayed as a redhead. off the top of my head, the kid from Malcom in the Middle and the kid from the magic school bus.)
And that's just the cis shit.
3. People in general get weird about my hair. A lot of strangers enjoy touching it without asking, or otherwise felt ownership over it if I had parts of it dyed, etc. I legitimately had people get super upset the time I dyed it black. Hell I had STRANGERS get upset. People I never met in my life who were making small talk in the check out line, absolutely FURIOUS with me about dying it black, because they asked me what my natural hair color was and I answered honestly.
4. If you're over the age of, ehhhh, 25? 27? You probably remember the age of fanfic where we described EVERYONE by their hair color lmao. Redhead was right up there with bluenette. It was painful and that post reminded me of it.

don't mean this to be a hot take or anything but at the point that john and arthur are at it almost feels kinda meaningless to label it as romantic love or otherwise like if you're THAT entwined at the roots of your ego what even is the boundary of that love anymore. if your relationship is at the point where you're pulling each other towards humanity on an existential level what exactly is the point of debating where physical affection or "specific" feelings fall on that line

I feel like a major factor in understanding the gods in Exandria is that trying to apply some kind of mortally relative moral framework to them is a fool's errand, because they are only and always representative of their domains.
The gods of Exandria are not individuals, and they have entirely different perspectives. You can see that in the discussion this week of the differences between the Raven Queen as a mortal mage ascending, and the Raven Queen as an ascended god—her motives and concerns have changed. In fact, those attempting to follow her are actively ignorant of that difference, to their peril.
The Raven Queen realized upon ascension that she had already caused some destabilization within the pantheon, and how disastrous another occurrence of that would be, even though she herself believed in the legitimacy of her own ascension—Purvan spoke about the death of the god of death as something almost fated, cementing the Matron's domain. However, for all future circumstances, her followers attempt to dissuade such attempts at her behest, and she with the pantheon hopes to keep the knowledge of that ritual unknown.
The mages of the Age of Arcanum, however, continue to attempt these ascensions, because they are mortals, and they do not have that kind of perspective.
But while they are operating within the bounds of moral framework, relative to what that means in their time and society, the pantheon is operating under a broader framework, one that is essentially amoral—which is very different from moral greyness. In fact, it's a framework that is outside of moral relativity at all. As such, I would argue that if we assume that morality is relative to the society that spawns it, the gods cannot fundamentally be said to be moral beings, because they owe no worldview or allegiance to any one society of Exandria.
So Asmodeus can lie and manipulate, and this is not inherently something that draws moral judgment—because this is his domain. It's in his nature to do so, because subversion and manipulation exist, both passively and actively in the world. A mortal following in his footsteps is subject to ethical and moral questioning, because mortals are moral beings. There is a longer interlude here on free will, but for simplicity's sake, what this essentially means is that the gods act within certain bounds, while mortals have more freedom. The trade-off between them for this restriction or freedom is power. When the Raven Queen ascended, she gave up some manner of her mortal nature for a divine one, and in doing so took power with, for lack of a less loaded term, free will as payment.
(I have to wonder if the mages who seek to follow her understand this. I doubt it.)
This isn't to say that the gods cannot err—they are well aware of their own failings, which is the entire reason that they are, in modern Exandria, cut off behind the Divine Gate, an exile they willingly chose and created—and there are, to an extent, some outcomes that are so universally Bad as to transcend that relativity as well, for instance the inevitable destruction of all life on the planet, which spurred their exile. But beyond those few universals, the gods act in alignment with their domains, and by extension their natures, because they are less changeable, and more cognizant of the longer arc of time.

as i'm writing this fic i'm a little worried how the first chapter will come off, since it's basically an argument between miranda and aaravi. they fully do end up with an understanding at the end, but it's just one of those things that i fret how it'll come off to people just coming into this.
mostly, this is just part of how their relationship works? as in, they'll have a disagreement about something, and both are vocal and intense about their requirements and wants, and in being aggressively upfront about it they manage to lay out all of their feelings and end up on each other's stride. they work well together because they argue with each other first, and the rest of the fic is just that, with this setup being leadup to them not having these issues since they already went over them.
in the same way, it introduces them to everyone else and explains how they work, just as much as its a setup and a foundation for all the more intense worldbuilding coming up. miranda walking things through with aaravi and explaining them is a good vehicle to explain the fundamental powers at work here, and are also what's keeping her alive through all of this.

[2003]
To call Sidney nervous would be a major understatement. The little blue engine was shaking in his frames.
“Hookay. Nothing big here. You’re just… working in an unfamiliar part of the island, working a huge order of coal. Please, please, don’t screw anything up…”
Sidney had been asked on short notice to help the Coaling Plant through a rather large order. All the while, he kept worrying his shaky memory would cause him to make a mess of things.
“Hold on… did they say this was for Crosby, or Cronk?” Sidney was always getting the two mixed up. They sounded very similar, after all.
At last, Sidney caved, and, again, went and found Logan.
“Sorry, um, where are these going again?” He asked, shakily.
The dark blue shunter tried not to wince as he asked for what he was sure was the hundredth time. Logan, however, only looked up and smiled.
“Cronk station yard!” He beamed. “From what I was told, it’s just South of the station. Big yard with a bridge carrying a road over the tracks, ya can’t miss it.”
Sidney smiled weakly. Logan always talked so fast, and the shunting diesel wasn’t sure if he’d gotten it all.
“Uh… thanks!”
“Not a problem! Let me know if you need anything else!”
