HOW TO DEVELOP ENTHUSIASM IN CHILDREN

Enthusiasm is a strong feeling of excitement and interest in something with a desire to become involved in it.

Enthusiasm is living with a sense of vision, mission and purpose. It is a driving force that propels people to act on their goals and take meaningful steps towards the realization of their lifelong dreams.

Without enthusiasm, life becomes a bore. People become passive about their tasks or dreams and easily quit at the slightest sign of a difficulty.

When people lose their enthusiasm for life, they engage in different harmful habits as their coping mechanisms for the loss of their personal joy in life.

They become easy victims of abusive substances and.personalities.This further drains their natural tendencies for constructive and worthwhile engagements.

We can take steps to stem the tide of this occurrence in our nation

by helping our young ones, particularly our pre-teenagers and teenagers, develop a strong and vibrant enthusiasm for their lives as a lifestyle.

Enthusiasm is a major ingredient for success in any human endeavour. In order to inculcate this indispensable trait in children, we will need to expose them to some new pattern of living if they are not currently used to it.

GOAL SETTING AND ENTHUSIASM

One of the foremost skills children can acquire that can develop their level of enthusiasm in life is the habit of goal setting.

Setting goals for a particular day, week, month or year in a specific direction or towards the realization of a dream, task or project as a habit develops their enthusiasm.

The attitude of setting goals habitually tailor their actions positively and as they grow older they develop the ability to remain focused, determined and resilient when confronting challenges.

MENTAL SUCCESS PICTURES AND ENTHUSIASM

Another vital component in building enthusiasm in children is using the power of mental success pictures.

Parents, educators and authority figures in the life of children should form the habit of regularly painting mental pictures of success in the minds of their children, particularly, along the line of their goals and dreams

You need to help them engage their imaginative faculty to see, how

wonderful it feels to have their goals achieved and the consequent feeling of joy and attainment they will eventually derive if they keep working on their goals.

KNOWLEDGE AND ENTHUSIASM

Providing children with a solid knowledge base is another critical factor to consider so that they can build a strong sense of enthusiasm in their different undertakings.

Help them get all the necessary information, tools and other resource materials that will help them achieve the goals they have set for themselves, or in the area you are trying to motivate them.

The more information people have along what they desire to achieve the more enthusiastic they become in their attempt to get the task done.

PERSONAL IDENTITY AND ENTHUSIASM

To develop enthusiasm in a child, we, the authoruty figures in the life of the child, need to work with who the child is as an individual.

Understanding the child's personal identity components will go a long way in helpinghb us determine the beat way to build the quality of enthusiasm in that child.

A clear understanding of a child's natural dispositions, temperaments, personal drive, potentials and inclinations, etc will guide the adult as to how best to build enthusiasm in the child.

SELF REGULATION SKILLS AND ENTHUSIASM

In conclusion, in order to help children cultivate the habit of being enthusiastic, we need to help them develop strong self regulation skills.

Children need to be taught how to regulate their emotions and express same in appropriate manners. This habit will help them keep their control over negative emotions and maximize the positive ones towards their journey to the realization of their goals.

This particular component is key as there will be days that will require them to use their will power to stay enthusiastic on the days they don't really feel so

Knowing that emotions follow actions will help them significantly on such days. This is one vital benefit of self regulation skills.

It has been said that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. As we take conscious steps to raise well-rounded individuals that will become our leaders in the nearest future, may we live to eat the fruits of our labour.

Hi hello so about your theseus post im a firm believer in that post that circulated a bit ago talking about how techno isnt lycomedes, dream is. I wont elaborate on that because you probably saw the post. Anyways, if techno isnt lycomedes please consider him as ariadne: he was the one who took tommy in and showed him the way to getting what he wants (the discs for tommy, the minotaur for theseus), he was willing to risk himself and stand his ground against an authoruty figure for tommy (during the standstill when they just found out that the community house was destroyed, and standing up to dream for tommy just like ariadne stood up to her father the king to protect/help theseus) and in the end tommy left him without much thought (as theseus left ariadne at that desert island). Idk it just,,, seems a bit fitting? What do you think? (This is all absolutelly platonic btw)
