Local time of most countries is ahead of solar time (especially in the northern hemisphere). Countries behind the sun are mostly around the equator.

The Shame Place
After he did what he did, and was ashamed, he went into himself where shame makes its poor home and lived there amid the excessive heat, the Dead End signs. Shame was his rent and he paid in shame until it was spent and he returned to his public body which was waiting like a debtor to apologize. He never felt so clean. At work, where it was expensive to be ashamed, he wished everyone could visit their shame place, could live for a while without credit or esteem. He felt sorry for everyone unchanged. But there was no hope for the shameless with their profit charts and perfect reasons. And what could he say to the beaten who had lived too long eating their hearts and words? Their shame places were hovels, all the energy shut off. Soon he lied again, hurt someone, rekindled what never burns to ash. Once again his shame place opened and took him in. It had carpets. A plush chair covered the spot where he had sat and writhed.

To illustrate this post by @mayahawkse I would like to visualize to you the difference:

A zoom out of the same post:

This is what a community looks like.
See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.
It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.
Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.
If you want more of something, reblog it.

One thing that keeps confusing me is that they claim ghost files costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars per season. I’ve tried to wrap my head around this ever since the announcement because flying a crew of 6 or so people out for two days and renting out the location COULD NOT be costing that much unless they’re either lying or blowing money on first class flights and expensive food/accommodations and even THEN do I not see them breaking 100k on a single episode. Dear lord hire an accountant I’m half convinced someone’s laundering money

Is Wave-Particle Duality Two Aspects Of Time?
There is physical time, which is a local classical notion, given by light clocks (the classical aspect of the Quantum!) This is the “Ortzeit”, local time of Lorentz and Poincare’, central to Relativity. Then there is neurological time, which is given by brain construction, and it is not very clear what the latter consists of, except surely Quantum Physics will be involved at the quantum…

leverage is so fucking funny. man manages to find the most mentally ill and neurodivergent group of thieves on the market + an even more mentally ill guy whose literal job description was trying to chase all of them, and forces them into a found family speed-run by trying to blow them all up. they lowkey stage a full fucking country wide coup and are like eh 🤷 just another wednesday. this might be a fun place to vacation tho i guess. sophie shows up to her own funeral twice. they're so good at convincing people of their shit that they make a guy's body start reacting to an illness he doesn't have because it isn't real. go completely out on a limb and basically hand this one guy a new password for his computer so they can get into it and he goes with it. parker and hardison have straight up just "fake it 'till you make it"d into the fbi without even attempting to cover their tracks beyond just These Two Guys. half their clients never asked to be their clients and don't know they're their clients, and the other half are random people who find them who fuckin knows how, meanwhile no government agency can track them down without selling their soul to sterling. they make a point to have a dramatic scene w a Big Bad Shadowy Government Guy who doesn't actually get caught or brought to justice or anything telling them he's going to hunt them all down, and in any other show this would probably earn at least a minor arc later on but he literally never shows up again. an entire season finale hinged on a cake and a bunch of clams. they accidentally made eliot a celebrity not once, not twice, but three times. parker blew up her foster parents' house when she was like. nine. and it's hardly a footnote. hardison is just casually an artistic prodigy but it's only ever brought up for the most background of background gags. eliot's biggest beef with parker and hardison for like two and a half seasons is that they won't stop making weird food with lasers and refuse to realize they can't make a decent beer to save their lives. sophie's immediate response to being shot is to call her shooter a wanker. there's a character who has literally killed a man with a mop and they had the audacity to only put her in one episode.

Skin Diving
Cadiz, 1967 The rich girls walked arm in arm, untouchable, big silver crucifixes below their necks, while the men in outdoor cafes smacked their lips at peasant girls too poor to forget their bodies. Each night my blond [sic] wife and I would go out for shrimp and baby eels or sherry and langostinas, and the men turned and turned, whispered, made gestures. At Carnival— amid the floats carried by penitents, the noise and the crowds— a furtive touching, Spanish boys pressing into what they couldn't have. Sundays it all exploded; the bulls dipped into the horses, the matadors into the bulls, then the streets filled again with a wild vicariousness. One day after El Cordobés had frightened and aroused us, putting his ear to the tip of a bull's horn, a Spanish friend taught me how to skin dive for moray eels. You had to anger them so they'd come at you, shoot the spear straight down their throats after the huge mouths opened. I had no desire to do such a thing, but I went down anyway and later watched him walk the streets with a moray around his neck, smiling, proud, terribly hurt when my wife stepped back, wouldn't take it, his gift, in her hands.

Genuinely being a single woman in my thirties, living alone, is such a mixed blessing sometimes. I do love my house and when I'm here I literally never want to leave. But on the other hand, I do get tired of leaving to go hang out with people, even though I love seeing them. Especially because I have such a great group of friends but they live all over the place, geographically, and therefore most of them don't know each other. And I actually really love hosting? But I never have people in my house because logistically it's always more practical for me to go to them than vice versa.
But sometimes I buy new old dishes and wanna just have a little fancy wizard party, but all my guests are far away. Please may I have the teleport spell. Or a high-speed commuter rail system.
