Wow it's been a hot minute since I posted but since then I've finished reading this book for the third time and I'm officially deceased!!! I think gatsby is one of those books where you can read it multiple times and notice something different each time which is great because it's assigned for school so often lol

With school holidays I realized it was the perfect opportunity to focus on my Italian learning progress. And nothing better to motivate me than the small space where I look for motivation in any kind of learning. Here is a little of the basics I learned.

Ciao - Hello or Goodbye (It serves both to greet someone on arrival and parting.)

Salve - Hi.

Sì - Yes.

No/Non - No.

Buongiorno - Good morning.

Buon pomeriggio - Good afternoon.

Buonasera - Good evening.

Buona notte - Good night.

Come stai? - How are you?

Arrivederci - See you later.

A presto - See you soon.

Addio - Goodbye.

A domani! - See you tomorrow.

Spiacente - Excuse me (General rule).

Scusami - Excuse me.*

Scusi - Excuse me.*

Permesso - Excuse me (Used to ask for permission to pass).

Mi dispiace - I’m sorry.

Per favore - Please.

Grazie - Thank you.

Prego - You are welcome.

Non so - I don’t know.

Io non capisco - I don’t understand.

Dove vivete? - Where do you live?

* From what I read, scusami is best suited to use when sneezing or yawning. While scusi is used after bumping into someone, arriving late or making noise. According to the subject, I was also informed here that in fact: scusi and scusami belong to two different registers, the first being a formal one and the second an informal one. So you use them depending on how well acquainted you are with someone, friends/family/someone younger than you or your same age (scusami) vs stranger/person in a higher position than you (scusi).

I prefer to buy them! I always feel like if I borrow then I have a time limit and that stresses me out, plus I love having a physical representation of what books I like.

It was a cozy and rainy day in NYC today. I took advantage of today being a holiday from classes and went to Starbucks to work on my religion course as well as spent some extra time cleaning my room and changing my bedding.

Day 3+4/30 days of productivity 📖

Siiiiigh classes have been going on in full swing as finals approach in the month of March. Here’s a peek at my planner and you can clearly tell how exhausting these few days have been.

Anygays, let’s adore my new pink fluffy pencil case that I bought from etsy uwu ^-^ it’s so fluffy and spacious! Talk about beauty and utility.
