I don’t want to study, but then I remember that if I try really, really, really hard, in few years I can live in the city of my dreams, eat whatever and whenever I want, date whoever I want, study what I want, read what I want, spend my money how I want, dress how I want, be friends with whoever I want.
Life will be so good, all I have to do is try, try and try

My study tip of this week is to make a schedule for the week.
Plan out what and when you're going to study something. Plan out rest days where you don't even look at your study material (I have two per week). Plan how many pages, how much time, what you're going to do after the study session, rewards, plan plan plan.
It takes the guesswork out of figuring out what to study every day. And if you miss a few chapters or don't have time to study something, you know exactly what you missed.
Your plan can also act as a checklist which makes you more motivated the more you check things off.
This will allow you to make the most out of your day, study effectively and make time for rest and hobbies.

There are no excuses. There’s only your laziness.
You can do it with a head ache, you can do it without that one certain book, you can do it no matter what.
But no, you chose to lie on your bed and scroll mindlessly on your phone.
Wake up, get up, focus, think for fuck’s sake.

Day 19 • 100 Days of Productivity
second day of the semester is done! i got a box of milk teas with boba that i can make at home and it is the highlight of my day! i also spent 7 hours working on my online classes.
fortunately i’ve already knocked out everything for this week in one class, and i only have some reading to do for my in-person english class.
unfortunately i have multiple lectures and chapters for precalculus to do this week, and the note taking takes about two hours and the homework i had to do for the first section took me THREE HOURS because it was 20 questions and half of them had 8-12 sections in them. but i did spend a good chunk of my day studying history which never feels like work bc i love it so much
anyway, tomorrow i have in person class again and then i’ll be back on the grind

STUDY TECHNIQUES FOR YOU ✧ ⋆ . ˚
I. PARKINSON'S LAW
— Parkinson's Law states that work expands to fill the time available for it's completion. In a study context, this principle suggests that setting deadlines and time constraints can help you stay focused and complete tasks efficiently.
II. FEYNMAN TECHNIQUE
— Named after physicist Richard Feyman, this technique involves simplyfying and explaining complex topics as if you were teaching them to someone else. This process helps you identify gaps in your understanding and reinforces your knowledge.
III. BLURTING
— Blurting, or active recall, is a studying techinque where you try to remember key concepts or facts without looking at your notes or textbooks. This helps strengthen your memory and retrieval skills.
IV. ENERGY CYCLES
— Energy cycles refer to understanding your own energy levels and working in alignment with your natural rhytms. Some people are more productive in the morning, while others excel in the evening. By scheduling tasks accordingly, you can optimize your productivity and focus.
V. SECOND BRAIN
— The concept of a "second brain" often refers to using external tools like note-taking apps or digital resources to store and organize information. This frees up your mental capacity and enhaces your ability recall and apply knowledge.
VI. SPACED REPETITION
— Spaced repatition is a learning method that involves reviewing information at increasing intervals over time. It's designed to help you remember and retain information more effectively by revising it just before you're likely to forget it.
i looooove the feynman technique soo much! it makes learning fun :)

October studying aesthetic and college tips
- Remember to take breaks. Get up and stretch your legs, eat regularly and keep a nice drink by your side.
- Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. I know some of you may scoff at this but sleep deprivation affects your ability to retain new information, both short term and long term. If you want to ensure you keep all the knowledge after a studying session, make sure to get high quality sleep. I used to get 5 hours of sleep a night and now I've converted to the 7-8 hours gang.
- Meal prep! Trust me I've spent so much money on buying food on the go and meal prepping has probably cut my food costs in half. I like to spend sunday cooking a meal I divide in 4 portions, one for sunday and the rest for mon-wed. Then on wednesday I cook a meal for Thursday and Friday. And so on. It's pretty easy and you don't have to do the most complicated stuff.
- Study in intervals. I usually do 25 minutes of studying with 5-10 minute breaks in between.
- Try different studying techniques! You can get help from a study buddy or study groups. Use flash cards and mindmaps. Try filming a video explaining the concepts to yourself or even better: explain it to a friend. Draw pictures, set a goal and reward yourself! Most importantly: learn to work with yourself and what you are capable of.

november 28, 2023 - tuesday week 1
going to try to return to posting here! unfortunately i'm not doing research this quarter, so we won't have any fun stories there, but i have four rather intense chemistry classes and am starting work at my school's brand new writing center, so there will be plenty of stuff to talk about regardless!
i don't have too much homework yet and have wednesdays off this whole term, so it's still smooth sailing. i did buy my first energy drink today, though, and i think i'll have to make a habit of that since i start at 8am most days and nearly fall asleep in my first class if i didn't get a solid 8 hours of sleep (which happens... never). i was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted LOL
i've got a heavy dose of extracurriculars tonight - wish me luck!
song of the day: beware - deftones
