The dark colour of the crown prince’s armour seemed to both absorb and reflect the sunlight.
Arthur stood in silence after Rhaegar marched up the winding stairs to reunite with the Lady Lyanna. Many minutes passed, and he sat waiting outside the tower with Ser Oswell, half-listening to the prince's muffled conversation while the other knight sharpened his sword in silence with a whetstone. Lord Commander Gerold practiced his swings with deadly grace, whirling and parrying imaginary foes.
The Dornish sun was treacherous. He wiped a bead of sweat from his brow, glancing down at milkglass-bladed Dawn resting in resplendence at his hip. A part of him wanted to use it, to cut down the Usurper and defend his prince to the death if needed, but Rhaegar forbade it, assigning him here.
He must see the plan through. He must.
Arthur tapped at his armoured leg with his fingertips, awaiting news of the war. Ravens came to the tower of joy oft enough, he supposed, but information of the usurper’s rebellion was not as detailed as the Dayne would have liked. Whatever knowledge came through, though, Rhaegar made sure that Lyanna knew much and more. He always made sure to ease any worry she had.
It had been longer than Arthur expected when he finally saw the familiar black armour and ruby-crusted dragon sigil pause in front of him. He craned his head, purple staring into an even darker shade, and saw the raw determination boiling underneath Rhaegar's gaze. He must have been half-weary, yet his outward disposition was so calm and composed. How much of it was a show?
“Have you heard more, my prince?” Arthur found himself asking.
“My cousin moves on us faster than expected. The time has come for me to meet him and put an end to this nonsense.” Arthur followed him to his black destrier, as dark as his own armour. Rhaegar stared at his helm tied to his horse’s side, running long fingertips over the red-painted dragon heads at the top.
“What would you have me do, Rhaegar?”
“I still need you, Ser Oswell, and Ser Gerold here, dear friend.” Those were not the words he truly wanted to hear, but he must obey the king. “I must go alone to meet our army. I need you to continue guarding Lyanna and the babe.”
“And what did she say?”
Rhaegar smiled. “Only that if I do not return, she would ride off herself and hunt for me.”
“A hard ride with a belly as large as hers, surely.” Ser Arthur had felt the babe himself, the strong kicks shifting her stomach, hitting his palms. She seemed as strong as ever, though, and he found himself growing accustomed to the fiery young she-wolf.
“It’s Lyanna,” the prince laughed, clasping Arthur on the back. “I must listen. If I don’t, I fear she really will do it.”
Arthur gave a bow. “Of course.”
In one swift movement, Rhaegar was atop his horse, donning his helm. Indigo rested on Arthur again as he rose his visor.
“Arthur, my friend,” his iron-toned voice was muffled only slightly, “the babe is close. Should I fail to return before he is born, head to King’s Landing with Lya. Bring her home to me.”
You will return here. Arthur decided not to tempt fate, and bowed again. “Your wish is my will, my prince.”
The corners of Rhaegar’s eyes crinkled before he stared forward and rode off, kicking up sand and dust in his wake.

A/N: hello! Here’s part 2!! Sorry if its kinda rushed! Lmao i swear i got like my first writer’s block or sum. I literally wrote so many versions of this part 2 lololol anw thank u all for the love and support!!
“Y/N! FUCK–GET BACK HERE!! WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME?!!?? DARLING DON’T DO THIS! I’LL FUCKING LOCK YOU UP”
You didn’t dare look back. Running in the wind, the sun giving rays of hope, you held onto the thought of your escape. You thought about how it all led to this, how quickly things changed. You didn’t even know how it came to this, but you knew it was the right thing to do. You looked back at all the things that happened before this.
“You, filthy servant, come here.” You heard Touya, the oldest sibling, call out to you. Shoto was studying in his office along with his private tutor, and here you were at the other side of the castle, wandering about. You quickly bowed your head as you stood in front of him. “I know what you’re doing– what you and that annoying little brother of mine are doing. You think I wouldn’t notice, hm?” He took your chin to make you lift your face, your eyes boring into his fiery blue ones. “I–I don’t understand master please–” he shut you up by kissing your lips suddenly. You were about to push him when you felt him bite. He bit your lower lip, drawing blood. You stilled as he licked away the blood, savoring your taste. He hummed in satisfaction, not bad, he thought, “Now look sweetheart, we all know what you and Shoto are doing is wrong. They’ll have you punished if they ever found out. My dear little brat of a brother is stupid to think that I wouldn’t find out.” You thought that this would be your end, they’d lock you up and kill you. All because you loved Shoto. “But, it seems I’m quite fond of you, you’re lucky it’s just me dear.” He gave you a quick pat on the head and went on his way. Even though he was nowhere to be seen, panic rose up through your throat, you wanted to scream, how unfair this world is. But instead you paced quickly away from the direction Touya walked to. You were just fidgeting around when you felt something in your pocket. A key. You studied it and it didn’t seem to match any door you know.
Days went on after your encounter with Touya and things were going..bad. You were now always on edge, wary of your surroundings, if he was watching. Shoto noticed this too, and became even more frantic. “Darling please, why do you keep avoiding me? Is it something I did? Please lets talk this out yeah?” And each and every time you would brush it off. This not only worried Shoto but also enraged him. In weeks his concerns would suddenly turn into anger, just like when he was a kid, when you both were just master and servant. “Y/N! What is this behavior?? Talk to me.” As all of this was happening, you were trying to find the door to that key. It all happened when Shoto eventually snapped. You were preparing him for the night when he had enough. He grabbed your shoulders a bit too hard, and started shaking you slightly. “Y/N what has gotten into you!?!? Do you no longer love me?? Were all those promises a lie??? I love you please.. Tell me you love me.” Tears were streaming down his face as he held you tightly. “Master–Shoto you’re hurting me! Calm down I–I’ll tell you.” His grip on you remained as you told him all about your encounter with Touya, though you did leave out the part where he kissed you, who knows how he would react if the mere fact that you weren’t talking to him was enough to drive him crazy. The look on his face scared you. It screamed obsession. “Y/N I don’t want you talking to him ever again okay darling? If I ever see him talking to you– I swear I’ll slit his fucking throat. You’re mine, hm Y/N? All mine”
Days passed since then and things were finally going back to normal, Shoto was back to the loving sweet boy he was, who would shower you in love and affection, while you do the same to him. But that key never left your mind. One day, as you sneaked out of Shoto’s arms to wander around the castle, you heard a loud banging noise on the wall. You investigated it and soon enough you finally found it. Upon pressing on a certain spot on the wall, a secret passageway opened up to you, and at the bottom a door that seemed to welcome you. Key in hand, you opened it. It was just a normal room, a table, one chair, and two bookshelves on the corner. You entered and looked at the books, or book rather, as there was only one book in the entirety of the room. A history book. Lame, you thought but you read it anyway. A single line struck you, as it was at the very beginning of the book.
“No matter what cost, do not let the humans know how powerful they are, lest they bring destruction to our species”
Hours of reading that single book taught you a lot more than what anyone had ever taught you. It showed you spells “humans” did. Discoveries humans made. How humans hunted vampires, and how our arrogance led the vampires to their victory. We’re mages, you thought to yourself. You had to tell the others. You had to make a plan. You had to escape.
It started slowly, informing the servants that you trusted with your life, Izuku, Eijiro, Ochako. You often took them to the secret room, and told them all about the book. They in turn would tell the others that they trusted. You learned a few spells from the book, practicing everyday when the nobles were asleep. You learned how to make explosions, shields made of harsh winds, and for some reason the most highlighted one, how to keep people quiet. More specifically, how to make unbreakable vows. This helped in keeping everything secret. You learned more, and taught others. You were making a plan.
Amidst all this you were still very careful around Touya. You suspected that it was him that placed the key in your pocket, and for whatever reason, you didn’t know. Was this all a set up? Were you all gonna be punished? You didn’t know, but what you did know was that you all gotta move fast. Back to Shoto you were still all loving towards him. A part of you didn’t want to leave him, and a part of you felt guilty for wanting to escape. You wanted to leave with him, but can you really trust him? He was still hostile to others except for you, but maybe because of your love perhaps he warmed his heart? Even just a little. But you were wrong.
It was the day of the escape, everyone chose daylight to escape, to make sure that the beasts stay asleep. “Izuku, all prepared?” you asked in hushed tones as you walked past him in the corridor. “All ready Y/N.” You all knew that some of you might not make it, but it was a risk you all were willing to take. To save everyone from this. But there was one last thing you had to do. You entered Shoto’s room. “Hey darling, come, let's sleep hm?” He patted your side of the bed, wanting to sleep and cuddle. “..Shoto I have to tell you something” You were hoping that you weren’t making a mistake. “What is it love?” His tone was a bit worried as he straightened up to lean on the headboard. “I..I’m going to leave.” Just from a few words his face turned pale, the anger that felt so familiar in his eyes, just as he was to open his mouth, you interrupted him “I want you to come with me..” “..huh..” You told him all about how you wanted to escape, how none of this is right, killing is not right. Though you might’ve left out the part that you all could now do witchcraft. “Darling I don’t think–I’m not sure if this is a good idea.”
“What do you mean?”
“Escaping with those pests? Darling you know better, being with me is better. I love you, protect you, keep you away from harm, that must be enough, yeah?”
“But Shoto there’s so much more we could do! It’s not just about me! There are people out there that got it worse!! We could study, we have rights, our hearts beat just the same as yours! We. Are. Alive.”
“Dear I know, you are the most wonderful thing to happen to me, I would die for you, you know that. But those filthy humans?”
“I’m a human”
Shoto was taken aback from your vicious tone, it was so uncanny, something so different from your sweet voice. “Darling wait–” You were to leave the room, in hopes that perhaps you both can just pretend nothing happened. He grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you to the bed. “Shoto get off! Please don’t make this hard!!” His hand was now on your neck while you struggled, slowly applying pressure. “Come on darling please don’t be difficult. We love each other don’t we? We can just stay here, let your friends escape, I won’t say a word to anyone, I promise.” “Shoto let me go–” “-NO! YOU ARE STAYING HERE AND THATS FINAL.” Him yelling genuinely scared you, he was now nothing but a crazed lover. His hold on your neck was tightening too much, you couldn’t breathe. “All I do is love you, and this is what I get?? You leaving me?? You fucking promised we’d be together forever.” Shoto was out of control, his fangs were bared and you feared that any time now, he would kill you. Your consciousness were starting to fade when you remembered, you’re a fucking. You lifted your hand from his to point it at the left side of his face. BOOM. You let out an explosion that made him scream in agony. The left side of his face was burning. You quickly dashed out of the room to meet up with the others at the garden at the back of the castle. While running you could hear Shoto crying for you, yelling your name. “Y/N?? What the fuck happened this was not part of the plan.” Ochako asked, in which you were too out of breath to reply. You all quickly ran through a path you all made in the garden, and then activated the spell. You all spent so much time casting a spell around the castle, a barrier of harsh wind that no one would come through. It surrounded the castle and was so high that no one would pass it. “Hell yeah! Come on!” Eijiro yelled and you all ran.
Shoto’s yelling and cries woke the entire family. “Shoto?! What the hell??” Natsuo asked. “CATCH THEM!! THOSE FILTHY FUCKING HUMANS ARE ESCAPING!!” Shoto ignored everyone telling him to get treated first and ran straight out. Touya looked out through a window, and smiled. “Good luck, Y/N.” You all knew the barrier of wind wouldn't last long, so you all were in a hurry. Carriages were prepared for all of you by people outside, people that you were fortunate enough to communicate with through your spells. But just as you all were navigating through the forest, explosions went off. Everyone started screaming, a lot were injured, a few died. You looked back and saw that the barrier was gone, they must’ve caught up. “KEEP RUNNING!!” You yelled to those who could still run, someone, anyone had to make it alive, had to let people know. You were running when you passed a certain someone lifeless on the ground, Eijiro. You felt a pang in your heart as you continued to run.
And that's how it all happened. A lot of the people you were with were now either captured or killed, and in time you knew that you would be caught too. You heard Shoto’s voice getting louder, and in no time you were tackled on the ground. “I finally got you darling.” He was smiling but it wasn’t reaching his eyes. He pinned you down, making sure you couldn’t move. “Let’s go home, hm?”
“No.”
“Haha it’s not really a question sweetheart.”
“Over my dead fucking body.”
“Stop being difficult.”
“Make a fucking decision Shoto.”
He was confused as to what you meant, then he suddenly noticed a very sharp glass pointed at the back of his head, it was you or him. You were ready to die, ready to kill him, and for what? Shoto laughed, you couldn’t be serious right? But the look in your eyes told him this was real. Either he kills you, or you kill him. His heart started racing, panic evident in his eyes. He wanted to throw up, to hug you, to cry, to kiss you. He just wanted everything to go back the way it was. But that was impossible. You both could never go back.As you hear the carriages move in the distance, you felt relief, someone made it, and this was surely the start of something bigger. With relief in your heart, but grief in Shoto’s, you closed your eyes.

I know you'll be busy answering ship asks for awhile but like. I think So Much about how Nat would not have let Jackie die. Jackie's death only works for me because Nat has this perfect reason for not being there - out searching for Javi with Travis all night. Like they must've made a fire, and also had each other for warmth, but Jackie was just. Alone. And if Nat had seen her she would have DRAGGED her ass back inside suicidal tendencies be fucking damned !!!! Jackie: I'm gonna kill myself. Nat: NOT ON MY WATCH! But she wasn't there. She couldn't stop it. I'm so sad lmao. Also let me acknowledge Shauna's part in all this lol. This is gonna sound wild(?) Mayhaps but I almost feel like the wilderness kept her asleep? Does that make sense? Because here's the thing Shauna is 100% mean petty stupid stubborn etc enough to just. Not bring Jackie inside lmao and obviously none of them knew that it would snow, or that she wouldn't put effort into starting a fire. Jackie is also obviously all of those things as well and would not have come inside without Shauna going to get her. And I'm not trying to give too much weight to the vague supernatural element, it's tragic no matter what, but in my mind that Death Dream that Jackie and Shauna share was almost hypnotizing both of them in a way. And it could have gone differently. Like I read it as: their connection is that strong, Shauna sensed that Jackie was dying, and she COULD have woken up in time, she could have !!! But the wilderness wanted Jackie so it kept them both asleep and in that dream. This isn't something I've shared on here or told anyone lol it's just for me < 3 no one has to agree with it. I think the reason I buy into it is that yes Jackie and Shauna are dumb enough to create that ridiculous of a situation but for Shauna to sleep through the night.... Without waking once... Without some sort of influence THAT I find hard to buy. She would have been too anxious to fall asleep even. But, they were Out There, and they were both lulled into sleep, Jackie so she could die, and Shauna so she couldn't save her. And Nat had to be gone too, so the wilderness hid Javi away ((not literally, hopefully you get what I'm saying)) idk the 3 of them just make me so insane and so sad. It's always felt to me like Jackie died by the skin of her teeth, her girls would have, could have, should have saved her, but. The wilderness kept them at bay.

everyone clap for anon for putting this in my inbox cause holy HOLY! you. are. so. onto. something. and i cannot believe i never noticed this or connected these dots, because i am ALL ABOUT the wilderness/it using the dream realm to fuck with them. this is the natural conclusion to come to from that perspective!! like!! yes!! i always found it bizarre that shauna could fall asleep after the emotional fight of a lifetime/her secrets being exposed like that, and that is especially true when we see her up late in the attic over smaller things in s1 or over other big moments in s2. this in genius. i'm adopting this into my worldview i am obsessed this is everything. love love love it and thank you for dropping this wisdom in my asks!

hi guys i saw newsies again
i think what we collectively didn’t realize about the context of which santa fe is sung is that jack is beat to hell, like on his way to a concussion while he’s singing that. he is barely pulling himself up that ladder, he’s leaning against literally every piece of rail or penthouse beam that he can. like. santa fe is, really, a dream. he sings it when waking early in the morning with charlie and then when he’s fucking concussed. it’s actually a delusion in this version. god…
david jacobs will get his way or die trying and i have to admire his gay little snooty faces LMAO… “tell me how quitting does crutchie any good?” is said while he’s looking over the paper with his back to jacks with an eyebrow raised. and when jacks doesn’t respond (which davey doesn’t even see he just fuckin knows) his “exactly” is this sing-song told-you-so of-course-i’m-right and i’m obsessed with it
tommy boy’s like plot thru this is really strong???? he’s reluctant to strike and then shows up as a scab and is the last one to agree to join the strike, and then at the rally when jack betrays them he. he is literally screaming “we hate you! we hate you!” at the top of his lungs at jack oh my god. jack bromage i owe you everything holy shit
charlie is genuinely like my favorite character in this production. i think this is the best take i’ve ever seen, the best acting, the most genuine acting, like. matthew is that good, and so is crutchie as a character. he’s so fun to watch react
^going off that through the whole precursor scene to TWWK for him is like. visceral. charlie has an understanding of the streets and the police that is sort of… almost deeper than jack’s. jack is ready to fight, but charlie is like horribly aware of their position, and almost argues jack’s for-the-strike fervor against the strike. he’s looking at other guys with this older sibling “don’t be stupid don’t do this” look, he’s very in favor of finch’s “the cops’ll bust our heads”, and his “like we got a choice?” to henry’s “[can we sell] at those prices?” is definitive. it’s a fucking command, until jack says to hold on obviously. idk… i just really crutchie’s very obvious position as a leader in this show, and he’s not just strong for “getting through it”, he’s jaded from living with it. ugh. best character.
jack’s face through the “my daughter, katherine” scene is such a journey LMAO… michael is soooo. good. he gets so mad at pulitzer’s “and beautiful, isn’t she?”, he has this withering look when he says “i’ll tell her you said so.” god. and then the WAY that goes to a different kind of anger—
one thing about jack is that anger is not one emotion for him, and he shows it every time. disgust looks different, shock/betrayal looks different, rage looks different. he is so, so, genuinely angry as a character and that’s terribly romantic and sad. to feel the fight for every scenario in your veins, to only feel forced to run at every opportunity. god god god, jack kelly, the character you are.
also i asked michael to sign my sketchbook’s inside cover like everyone else has so far and he was SO excited and went “you sketch???” with the most enthralled inflection. and then we also talked about interracial relations on stage and jack kelly being black. and i’m really not sure how many people have actually asked him or told him how much it meant, because he was very ready to talk about it, which is quite bittersweet.

rating record of ragnarok characters /10, because i can.
DISCLAIMER: i’m only rating the characters based off what the manga & anime has portrayed. i’ve done little to no research on these people themselves, which is why i don’t condone anything immoral that they’ve done. this was written before the release of chapter 73+
a/n: i think i wanna do this for every anime + genshin & val. PLS WATCH IT & LMK IF YOU GUYS LIKE IT. also i dont care abt grammatical and/or punctual errors, this is a shit post
MANGA SPOILER WARNING!!
THOR: first of all, he’s so fucking hot. his smile caught me so off guard tho, i kinda just stood there watching the screen, baffled. not much character to him, he’s just hot. 7/10
LU BU: i’m chinese, i literally feel so happy when i see chinese characters. biased, but definitely a plus. he, just like thor, has little to no character. first character i called hot, is hot, but there are hotter characters. (what, i am not talking abt hermes wdym?) 7/10
HERMES: 10/10. no explanation. my man right there. i literally scream & cream every time i see him. why is he so fine. not a single panel or clip where he looks bad. pls eat me out, sir i beg. i will serve you. ONE CHANCE. JUST ONE?? i’m in love with him. who needs real men or women when hermes.
GOLL: she is SO ANNOYING. her eng & jp voice are both annoying asl. she’s that one character, that exists in mostly every anime, used to explain background info & battle info on other characters. brunhilde is too nice on her. she reminds me of when i first saw yachi (haikyuu) on screen. yachi, too, was annoying. but i grew to love her🫶. 1/10
BRUNHILDE: SHES SO HOT. ATE. SHE ALDNAHDISKZ. yeah, what else is there to say? 8/10
APHRODITE: she truly lives up to her version in the greek mythology. hottest woman/goddess alive. ate. her boobs, i want to squish them & bury my face in them. WHEN IS IT MY TURN TO HOLD THEM? 8/10
ZEUS: idgaf what anyone says, he’s not hot. not even his younger self. he looks like mirio (mha) turned netero (hxh). love his character tho. the eyes scared me at first. he’s hilarious. 5/10
ADAM: my friend, the one who recommended snv to me, told me he’d be more my type. he was, minus the fact that’s he literally butt fucking naked. nice ass cheeks tho. def pretty boy, his wife is hot too. i want her more😋. his line abt fighting for his children made me cry. should’ve won. i say, let hermes be uncleless & fatherless. 7/10
POSEIDON: he was fs the blueprint for adam. anywho, yk hes fine. SOOO FINE. meowing for him. he doesn’t beat hermes tho. nobody beats hermes. well, look wise at least. it was rlly hard choosing who to root for in this fight. that’s a lie, i was always on humanity’s side. sad he died:( 9/10. -1 for being a little, arrogant, narcissistic, egotistical bitch. 8/10
SASAKI KOJIRO: see, zeus coulda been hot like him at that old age. man aged like fine wine. character was a W. hot, determined, good character, funny. what else can you want from a man? 8/10
HERACLES: disappointed. so disappointed. he looked better in the disney ver. this fight was so boring for me. you’re telling me i’m supposed to watch the fight instead of ogling at hot characters? no. character was okay. 6/10
JACK THE RIPPER: massive L. not supporting a murderer. next. 0/10
SHIVA: hot from the beginning. 4 arms? do what you want to me, sir. 3 WIVES? tengen (kny), is that you bro?😭 anywho, he’s cocky, def my type irl LMAO. i wouldn’t let that slide tho.. his wives are hot too😋 8/10
RAIDEN TAMEEMON: i paid very little attention to this fight. don’t remember his backstory too well (i read this fight not even 24 hours ago btw). not that good looking, not ugly either. i liked his character, upset he took 3 of shiva’s arms. why 3? why not 2? he got 1 arm left. 4/10
BUDDHA: THATS MY GOD RIGHT THERE. ate. i’m not religious, and neither are my family, but they are buddhist, so by default, i am too. i personally think buddhism is the best religion, but we’re not gonna get into that. i have very valid reasons btw. love his personality, love his looks. massive W. ofc he fights for humanity. he’s a walking W. 9/10
ZEROFUKU: precious. definition of deserved better. what made me sad, is how he was written during the fight. he’s consistently hitting, with little to no strategy. his backstory is sad, but his battle exp was written poorly. also the random ass monster possessing took me tf out. 7/10
HADES: fine ass mf. he’s so different from how he’s usually portrayed, both look & personality wise. the first W netflix has pulled. he’s hot and responsible? persephone, we can share him babes. also, the relationship between him & poseidon made me SOB. like actually. hurt so bad i made an angst edit. 9/10
QIN SHI HUANG: first off, i don’t do research on my own ethnicity’s history. i didn’t even know who tf lu bu was. my family knew tho. with that aside, PROUD TO BE CHINESE❗️ he’s so fine. SO FINE. the way his character was written, was wonderful. i loved the fight between him & hades. the tension & the lengths they went to try & win. 9/10
BEELZEBUB: his backstory was so tragic. what i didn’t like, was how they rushed his & lilith’s story. like, they kinda randomly said i love you to each other. i’d love to see their adventures tgt. lilith, leave that emo thing, and come be w me. he’s fine too. i rlly like how they introduced him. 8/10
NIKOLA TESLA: i don’t have much of an opinion on him. very chatty, which i don’t actually mind. i guess we’ll have to wait for more chapters to release before i form an opinion on him. 5/10
ODIN: the hair bro. THE HAIR. i keep forgetting he exists, but i’m not his biggest fan. not bad, but i prefer his sons. i do like the theory of him being a traitor. he looks the part. 5/10
LOKI: honestly, i liked him a lot in the beginning, but now, it’s like he’s kinda on the side. cute & hot. thor is the better brother tho. speaking of, how tf are they even brothers? moving on, i like his personality. i like his shocked, mixed w angry, facial expressions more. 7/10
ARES: the hair again. very stylish, i do like it, but it took me out. walking around looking like a school girl. i don’t like how he tries to be a know-it-all w hermes, when he literally relies on him for info. but that’s my man for you. his expressions are SO WELL. 6/10
ADAMAS: i was awfully confused, at first, when there were 3 older brothers to zeus. usually, it’s just hades, poseidon & zeus. not his biggest fan, his character was rushed. 4/10

hi
hello internet strangers want to hear about my personal life as per usual
well as those familiar w my lore know my title ix case (us-specific college thing where, tldr, if u get sexually assaulted u can do a little mini court case thru ur school) is finally fucking over + i won . which is awesome. unfortunately the respondent (title ix word for "person who did the assaulting") got preeeetty much no sanctions at all . like literally nothing changed . the lawyer recommended they be moved to the other dorm hall but they couldnt, so basically they got put on probation and that's it. Lmao. which means my situation is WORSE than before i filed the complaint, bc b4 i filed the complaint they were in the other dorm hall, and then they moved to mine. but i can't do shit about it unless i want to take my school to, like, court.
well anyway the respondent's life changed in no meaningful way Except they moved out of the dorms last month by their own choice. i assumed that meant they were embarassed abt what they did But i guess not. Bc they've been getting really into on campus events and hanging out in the central building that i like to hang out at. and its like. okay. whatever.
but the thing is . theyve been going to a lot of queer-centric events recently . and while im the only person whos filed a complaint or won a case against them. i am not the only victim i know that for a fact and the other victim is also a queer person. So can you see why im worried about someone who managed to sexually assault two queer people within the first week of living on campus like, integrating themself into the community like nothing fucking happened
and theres this school dance coming up in a couple weeks and im worried that will give them an opportunity to like. hurt someone else.
and i want people to KNow what they did because i dont feel safe with them on campus anyway but i especially dont feel safe now theyre talking to people and making friends (especially bc most of their friends r like. friends of friends. like i dont know them but i know of them yk) . i dont know what theyre saying about me (if anything) and i especially dont know if theyve hurt anyone else. and they might have! because they demonstrated a frankly dangerous lack of regard for consent repeatedly Like i think this is a genuinely dangerous person, whether by malice or stupidity or both, and i dont want anyone else to get hurt
BUT THE KICKER IS...! well first of all we're bound by a no-contact order (baby version of a restraining order). you cant be in the same classes and you cant talk to each other (irl, online, or thru a 3rd person) the title ix coordinator has provided jack shit about what a no contact order actually entails btw lol 😒. But if i were to tell someone and they went and told that person, idk if that would be considered 3rd party contact, which would get Me in trouble
i also dont know if it would be considered "breaking confidentiality" if i said their name- again, don't know jack shit, don't have documentation of the actual rules i'm supposed to be following. but i really dont feel like this is a safe situation for this person to be on campus with no one knowing what they did
im also just generally worried about them finding out ive told people and getting mad and going to the coordinator and me getting in trouble when the only reason im even considering this is bc, again, the school didnt do jack shit
and i dont even know How i would tell aynone . like im not rly friends with most of these people . i see them around and some of them i think are cool but theyre not friends or really even aquaintences . so it would be fucking weird .
but i dont know what to do and i dont want anyone else to get hurt . and i know thats not on Me, but. i also dont want to sit back and Know. and not say anytthing

rosestarkillerchaser ship break down thing? Idk- based on @definitelynotttheo version of this (this is kinda long srry)
Sunrose/rosechaser: literally love them with all my heart. evan was the one of him and reg that didn't absolutely 'despise' james. And so evan is friends w Peter, lily and Remus, so obviously he becomes friends either the other gryffindors as well, so he becomes friends with james in like 4 or 5th year. And truthfully, him and james become so close so fast that one day evan is thinking abt james and all the sudden he realizes he likes him. And then proceeds to (try to) ignore james but he (fails) gives up bc james just wants to hang out with him. but anyways evan ignores his feelings bc he's already struggling w liking Barty and Reg. And while evan is having a crisis, james is literally panicking bc "wHY THE FUCK IS HE SO HOT????" and then he's like "fuck" bc james just realized that he is indeed in love with evan rosier. And so smth happens w reg and barty (they either got together or kissed or smth else) and evan is like "why the fuck does the universe hate me so much" and then james is also sobbing bc "whyyyyy" and then smth happens, they talk abt it (reg and barty) and then evan and james both come to the conclusion that they both like reg and barty and then finally realized that they like each other and end up getting together.
Rosestar: regulus and evan are like bsf and they literally love each other so much but they both like people(s) and so they don't acknowledge the fact that they like each other. And they pretty much only disagree on two things, how to pronounce and say things in French and james fucking Potter. Cuz reg 'hates' james and evan is practically best friends with james by the end of 4th year. So then reg figured out that he liked evan and barty so he ended up making out with barty and got w him. and then evan got w james and both barty and reg were insanely jealous bc they both liked evan as well. And then regulus ended up realizing that he also liked james. And over heard evan and james talking abt them both liking barty and reg. And basically that gave reg courage to make a move on evan. And so reg confronted evan abt evan liking him. Actually he pushed evan against the wall and told him that he over heard evan and james talking abt it (evan was shook lmao) and then they talked abt it a bit before they kissed lol.
Starkiller: barty knew that he liked both evan and regulus but he was terrified to tell them so he js ignored his feelings (does not work btw I've tried) and tried to just continue on. And then in fourth year evan became friends with james and they all started hanging out w barty's old friend james and holy shit james was hot now. So barty formed a crush on him so at this point barty is pretty much fucked he thinks. And so then barty notices how CLOSE james and evan have become and he knows exactly what will happen soon so he decides to try(and fails) to stop liking them and just focus on regulus bc he's free. So he just keeps on flirting w reg until regulus fucking pushes him against a wall (you like doing that don't u reg) and snogs barty's face off lol. And then evan and james get together and oh Merlin it HURTS. and then both reg and barty figure out that they both like evan (barty doesn't mention anything abt james until reg did when he realizes that he also likes james) and then regulus hears james and evan talking and tells barty
Killerchaser: my babes. They were NOT prepared to fall for each other 😭😭. They're childhood bsf. And then they got to Hogwarts and they kinda parted ways a bit. And so they kinda grew apart for a while and then like I said, evan became friends w James and Barty who hadn't rlly taken much notice to his old friend was like "rjwkdnwkne???????" Basically. (James had around the same reaction.) And then Barty sees how James and evan are rlly close and it's clear that they like each other. So barty flirts w reg and then they get together. Which causes evan and james to get together. And the reg over heard James and evan talking at him and Barty and regulus went after evan to tell evan that he (and Barty) liked him back. So NATURALLY barty went after James. And James and Barty are both the type to flirt and then get extremely flustered when the other person(s) flirt back. And so barty flirts w James and James flirts w barty and inside they're both having pansexual panics lmao. And then idk which one but one of them is like "ok wait we both like each other right" and the other is like "oh thank god yes" and then they talk a bit and cuddle but they would never tell anyone that .
Rosekiller: oml my oblivious darlings. They both liked each other from the moment they met but they took FOREVER to realize it 💀. But by fourth year evan likes barty, regulus and james n barty likes evan, reg and james. And they're both looking at the other and seeing the person that they clearly like (evan n James and barty n reg) and their both like "I don't stand a chance:(" bc their pathetic little bitches 😭. But anyways reg and Barty get together and evan is heart broken x2. And then evan gets w James and Barty is heard broken x2 (theyre so pathetic). And then the shit w reg n ev and bart and jame (shortening their names 💀💀). And so all four of them talk like civilized ppl. And so then evan and barty talk more with js them and they probably both cry bc have I mentioned that they're pathetic. And ya :)
Starchaser: fuck the thing that reg is always mean to James. Reg was mean to James when he didn't rlly know him and still hated him for taking his brother. But then regulus actually started to get to know James after him and evan started hanging out (and then later dating). And reg was like ok maybe this guy isn't THAT BAD. and then James and evan got together and regulus was like I'm jealous bc I like evan but wait am I also jealous of evan for some reason??? And then "ohhhh" bc reg js realised that he likes James. And then reg over heard James and evan talking abt how they both liked him and barty. And so he told barty this and then went after evan. And then barty went after James and shit. And then they all talked abt it and their relationship (bc talking abt it is the key to a good relationship (or so I'm told I've never been in a relationship)) and then regulus got to talk to James more and reg is so soft w James 😭😭 I love them both so much but reg and James both constantly need to be reassured that they're partners all still love them and so reg and jame basically say I love u like 20 times a day (rosekiller is not any better mind you) but yea :)

AU TIME YIPPEEEEE!! made this one with irl friend @hatsunerandal a while back and i’ve been meaning to post about it i just keep forgetting LMAO so yeah!! band au!!
this band is called the transsexual pussycats because. yeah.
we have everyone on vocals, janet on drums and guitar, frank also on drums and guitar (they switch which one does which (that was a lot of rhyming)), columbia on bass, and magenta also on guitar and keyboards :D

irl friend and i have put together a total of. 4 albums i think? and i am almost done with the fifth one! our process is just. find already existing songs, plop them in a playlist, and then write paragraphs about who sings what and who wrote what and what they wrote the songs about etc etc! quite a fun process if i do say so myself :3
albums 1, 3, and 4 were done by me, album 2 was done by irl friend!! their names are “mcpussy meal” (we almost named the band mcpussy but after i said “old mcpussy had a farm eieio” we changed our minds), “lord of the lesbian jellyfish”, “one girl, 69420 women”, “honestly,” and the fifth one which im not quite done with is “rose blood”!! we’re slaying with the names as u can see! the songs mostly stick to a rock/riot grrrl sound, but they can also do some more pop/hyperpop or electronic songs, and i felt REALLY silly and added a folk song to rose blood :3
now. u might be asking. where is the rest of the cast? what part do they play in this au? well!! for one thing columbia and eddie broke up (she’s with magenta now i love lesbians) and she has written at least one song about him per album 🫶 but other than that he’s out of the picture, along with pretty much everyone else…
EXCEPT FOR BRADLEY MAJORS.
i told my friend about brad in this au and they just said “brad def has groupie energy that 1000% works” and i think about that a lot LMAO he’s not actually a groupie he’s just their biggest fan ever even though he doesn’t even listen to their style of music. he attends every concert, has all the merch, is basically just so embarrassing about it i love him dearly. he’s also in a qpr with janet and dating frank yahoo!! i fucking LOVE the brad/janet dynamic in this au because all of her concert outfits are so slutty and so pink and after the shows and after hugging her aggressively he’s like “you’re wearing so little are you cold :( wear my jacket i don’t want you getting sick” and in one of the songs she is quite literally screaming her lungs out and im just imagining him watching that at a rehearsal and being like “Yay!! :-D” he’s the silliest ever actually
it’s also a canon event that the band got interviewed by that one guy with the hat who goes WHO ARE YOU i hope u know who im talking about if u don’t im so sorry that was so vague

Real talk, Jojo has been the saddest I’ve ever seen a sim be over a spouse’s death, like non-stop crying for days. I did get very emo just by seeing him sleep alone, but then he gets up and does something that freaked me out so much I straight up shut the game down..
..HE AUTONOMOUSLY GOES TO LOOK @ WYATT’S PORTRAIT. I swear I’m not making this shit up, at first I thought he was interacting with the urn, but then I check his action panel and it’s the ‘view’ thing @ the portrait!!!
These aren’t ‘real’ portraits taken with the portrait mechanic (which I don’t know if even with those ones sims know whose portrait is whose), they’re screenshots I put into the custom painting folder which I then have the sims paint, so there’s no way game-wise that Jojo would know this is depicting Wyatt. I’m also 100% certain I’ve never had another sim in the family autonomously go view a death portrait, because I would have definitely taken a pic and included it in a post. Point is, bro I was already convinced Jojo was sentient and was equal parts freaked and moved..

I should take this time to say crash blew my mind, you were so right about the final scene being extremely similar to the end of the first f&f, to the point where my friend and I's reactions when we did that double feature were pretty much identical, it was so funny! We watched Crash first, and there was something about seeing that Miata finally get knocked off the highway, that was soooooooo... Like, I may be reading too much into this and I definitely don't understand the movie entirely yet, but MX-5 Miatas are one of the most personified cars out there because of their eye-like headlights and mouth-like vents, they literally look like 😃 it's so cute. Miatas are almost always portrayed as innocent, Friendly, and childlike, so to see the destruction of one (which the movie was def building up to), AND TO WATCH JAMES FUCK CATHERINE IN WRECKAGE , like it's such a good image to end on… it really drives home the irreparable effect being introduced to Vaughn's "world" had on them, like they basically went through the a fucked up version of the hero's journey and were left on the other side of the threshold not knowing how to cope, my jaw was on the floor!!! The unattainable fantasy of ultimate orgasm because of the resiliency of both cars AND human bodies, it was so good. "Maybe the next one, maybe the next one," still gives me shivers.
So watching F&F afterward was hilarious because my friend basically had the same reaction to its ending, that truck impact hit her real hard (she too wanted them to ugly fuck on the busted charger lol). I had told her that this was essentially the most blood we would ever see in the rest of the franchise which is not a lot, and we ended up having a whole conversation about comparing the fantasy set in place by both movies. The fantasy of F&F is essentially 1) the characters' inability to die/stay dead or get injured and 2) the seemingly omnipotent ability of cars to take down larger and larger vehicles, starting with 18-wheelers and progressing to yachts, trains, Humvees, planes, it's endless!! Whereas the fantasy in the world of Crash IS to die, to be scarred, marred, for every dent and scratch on your car to be mirrored on your skin until you're one and the same. It's the next evolution of man, to be melded with machine in a way that's gorey and sexual. Both works involve little family institutions, people who get it, people who have your back, and a fearless leader running the show. Where Dom Toretto literally can't die, or even lose, because it's in vin diesel's contract, Vaughn was fated to! What kind of example would he be setting for the others if he couldn't achieve the nirvana of dying on the toronto freeway.
Ugh I totally did not mean to give you an entire book report but I've been sitting on all of this for so long and I figured you of all people would understand being immensely effected by these two movies being put together lol. Remake Claire took Remake Leon's virginity headcanon
So, in OG canon, RE2 ends with Leon being all amped up to go after Umbrella. This apparently ends up with him and Claire in an argument about the next steps to take, and he all but shoves her to go in the opposite direction of him and Sherry so that she can find Chris -- and then Leon and Sherry get picked up by the CIA just a few hours later.
Like, that whole thing happens really fucking fast in OG. Leon has not had a chance to sleep in the time between driving into Raccoon City and being kidnapped into CIA custody.
And yet, somehow, despite this, Claire is able to keep in contact with Leon to the point of being able to email him during the events of Code Veronica??? Like, it makes absolutely no fucking sense at all, and Capcom never bothered to try to explain it specifically because it's complete plot convenience nonsense lmao
So I feel like this is one of the changes that Remake is making -- because RE2make did not end with the same tone as OG RE2. RE2make ends with Leon looking at Claire and Sherry as his immediate priority, and if any Umbrella shit pops up, they'll deal with it then.
Leon's wording during the intro of RE4make is suspect, too -- that he was "later asked" by the CIA to join up. That makes me think that this didn't happen right away -- that there was at least a handful of days, or even maybe a full week, in between him escaping Raccoon City and the CIA getting a hold of him. And this is sort of backed up by the lingering nerve damage in his left shoulder in RE4make -- he probably carried that open gunshot wound around for a bit longer in Remake than he did in OG canon.
(side note: I know that the photo of Leon that Krauser has been very uhhhh attached to, let's say, looks like Leon was literally just taken off the streets like he was in OG canon, but like. Capcom wasn't going to make a whole new, cleaned up version of his RE2make character model just for Krauser's jerk off fantasies LMAO it was just easier to put in his endgame RE2make model there)
So this meant that there was a not-insignificant amount of time in Remake canon where Leon, Claire, and Sherry were basically playing house, so to speak, while Leon and Claire tried to figure out what to do next.
I imagine this is when it happened.
You've got these two college-aged kids trapped in a domestic situation together after escaping from an actual literal waking nightmare together. They're hurting not just physically, but emotionally. They've been isolated from the rest of the world and have only each other to trust and confide in and try to figure out a way of coping with any of it and moving forward.
Yeah, that's going to boil over at some point very quickly. Any number of things could have been the trigger point for it.
It could have been Claire helping Leon keep his wound clean and feeling like she's actually helping in a way that matters while he's a little overwhelmed by someone taking care of him.
Or it could have been a melancholic moment where they're both lost and directionless and feeling helpless, and they both end up looking for some comfort in each other, because that's all they have.
Or it could have been a tense moment when one or both of them can't make sense of why they're still alive -- or if they're still alive, and they just need to feel something to remind themselves they're still human.
Or it could have been a quiet moment in the middle of the night, where neither one of them says anything at all, and neither one of them is quite sure just how Claire ended up on Leon's lap while he kisses her as though he's afraid she'll disappear if he stops.
It doesn't really matter what it was. No matter what happened, it happened.
And I don't think that Leon would have told her up front that only the first two fingers on his right hand know what the inside of a vagina feels like. She probably suspected it when she noticed how nervous he was, and she definitely figured it out after the third time he went too far and accidentally pulled out of her completely mid-thrust instead of just pulling back -- but I don't think that this was information that he volunteered.
But Claire was probably the awakening of Leon's praise kink, because I'm sure that once she did figure it out, she literally took him by the hands and walked him through it. And after a few comments along the lines of "You're a fast learner" and "That's it, you've got it" and "Keep going, just like that" and "You're doing so fucking good" -- Leon learned something about himself that he did not know previously.
I don't think he regrets it, and I don't think that he ever will.
Well, I mean, I'm sure he regrets it a little whenever she decides to hold it over his head later in life, because she's Claire Redfield and there's absolutely zero chance that she's going to let him forget that she was the one who taught him how to please a woman.
And he probably regretted it a little bit the first time that he ever had to look Chris in the face.
And then also one other time way later down the line when it hit him that he was now much closer to Chris than he was to Claire, and that weird "oh my god I fucked your sister, and now I'm also kind of attracted to you oh god no why is my life like this" realization came over him.
But. You know.
I don't think he regrets it in a serious way. It was an important moment in both of their lives -- it meant something; it wasn't like he slept with her just for the sake of losing his virginity. It helped both of them get through the worst parts of the darkest time either of them had had to face or endure. Going through Raccoon City itself was the easy part -- fighting was simple, and it kept both of them focused. But it was the aftermath, when the enormity of all that had happened settled down on them -- that was the true nightmare of it all. And they got through it together.
Do I think either of them caught feelings because of it? No, I don't -- so, there was no heartbreak attached to this at any point, either. But it was still emotional and poignant and it mattered, and I think both of them are really glad they did it.

okay, this one is a BIG one, since it pretty much started this entire idea.
I know I shit a lot on the second movie but this scene from it is just outright pivotal on my blog. The way Sean acted this scene, that second where he seems to realize what he's doing and that it's wrong, but then something instantly changes in his body language and he strangles the kid that much harder, followed by him saying 'he made me do it, I'm sorry' - that was the moment the possession idea was born. So in a way, that is a picture of the entity that's messing Collingwood and Lance right up.
Second one is not really a picture, but a very flashy video. The first minute of Clark's Winter Linn video has always been the visual representation of what I think this thing 'looks' like. No generic tentacle monster bullshit. But a thing that constantly shifts and changes in 'patterns' that don't make an real coherent sense. But picture that on a scale of a freaking galaxy.

My version of it isn't your typical muhahaha evil. Hell, at times, it might even do something good, like getting rid of its own cult and such. I play entirely into the concept that it is chaos at its most basic and pure and entirely its own thing, doesn't adhere to any religious or natural law or black and white mentality, really. It isn't even that -smart- and cunning either. Don't get me wrong. It'll make your head spin with its sudden shifts in moods and ideas. It is outright scary how utterly unpredictable it is. It is disastrously flipping gi-normous with incredible power. If it bothered to gain all of them back and develop its full potential and everything that its cult wants, I'm talking universe ending OP type of power and knowledge. But the fun part is that it has no interest in that just yet, if ever. Frankly, it finds almighty power and omnipotence quite fucking boring and utterly predictable. All it cares about is mindless consuming and observing and manipulating. It will kill people and destroy things if it feels like it. But given its psychotic obsessions and the likes, it actually is fairly chill for the most part. Truth be told, it kinda enjoys snacking on powerful villians and evil peops/supernaturals more than your run at the mill normal human 9-5ers, no matter how many of them are really out there. Why go for bulk fast food when you can enjoy a lil well done gourmet diner you get handed in a very secret shady celebrity restaurant?
Once again cannot overstate enough how freaking obsessed this thing is with Lance. Jealous and clingy to the absolute fucking max. I go back and forth on how it'll handle his eventual death. Sometimes I like to think that it 'cares' about him so much it might just let him pass naturally eventually, really let him go so he can be at peace one day. But more and more, I come to the conclusion that it won't. It eventually will try to find a way to literally keep him forever. I'm talking, he gets taken out by a bullet or something, it'll bring him back. And it'll keep bring him back over and over again until there's nothing left to be brought back. That, or it'll go the vampire route with him in the verses I have for that. Meaning that it'll force some vamp to turn him for it so he'll be immortal and stay with it forever.
I just find it generally very interesting how they tick. I make it a big point that this possession isn't forceful or like your typical uncomfortable imprisoned in your own body type of deal. Eventually, it's almost elegant and respectful in a few ways, and obv very tight regardless. It is talking to him all the time. Comments on everything, constantly suggests things or makes fun of them. But it will respect his autonomy and privacy many times as well if he wants for it to be so. Eventually, he'll reluctantly turn it into a two way street and start talking to it a lot more as well, even ask it for its take on things since it knowing literally every last thing he does with the addition of its 'outside' perspectives can paint a pretty fucking accurate and scary picture. That's the point where the lines start blurring and they distort each other. In a way, it's scary how natural it all seems and how well this dance of theirs is choreographed. For the most part, it's because it's genuinely fascinated by the way he ticks and thinks, and because he produces so many struggles and doubts and emotions all by himself. It just has to lean back and enjoy the show. Or he gets to lean back and let it handle the shitty/risky situations without having to fear for his life anymore.

1. not stopping the lobotomy. Don't get it wrong, that level of fear and insanity was one of the biggest feasts to date. But the thing is - now that it's with him and ever so obsessed, no matter how much of a constant and easy food supply his trauma from that really is - it doesn't want as much of a scratch on him. It doesn't want him in physical pain. And if you ever get it started on the fact that he almost died on that table and that they almost ruined everything with that. If it wasn't for the fact that that attack and ritual was what made the possession possible, what made him able to host it, then it would absolutely undo that one.
2. Any time it's decided to let him talk to someone for longer than necessary, and where that results in him caring about those people, those caring about him, and them putting doubts in his head about his relationship with it. It's constantly and awkwardly trying to find the right balance between making him happy and getting him to like it more because of that, and keeping him from being too happy and interested in other people than itself.

time for analyzing the absolute most freak-ass set of supports i have ever seen nintendo handle (affectionately)
A-support first since this got overly long, and i also touch on the JP versions as well.
half meta analysis, half lengthy shitpost because.

Last time in the Gunter/Corrin support train, we learned that Gunter used a little toy ball to coax Corrin out from her shell post the mind wipes when she was as skittish as a kitten, and then in the B support, Gunter/Corrin played catch again for the first time.
A little odd, but fairly tame. Here though ..... :')
(pardon me for the different "Corrin" look -- i ripped these screenshots off of a youtube version b/c i was lazy about not getting into the game proper) god do you know how many random ass files i have as reference for gunter JP/EN voicelines, JP/EN my room bits, transcripts, sprites, etc ... after this fic is done i'm totally making that fanshrine if only to stick all this shit in one place lol

... i think that implies that garon was whipping corrin before she was she was sent to the tower?? man what the hell kind of life did corrin have between being kidnapped out of hoshido and before ending up in the northern fortress under gunter's aegis.
gunter's no saint, not in the least bit (i have sooooooo many issues with the side of fandom who thinks he's just a sweet wholesome old grandpa lmao lol looooooooooooool no), but damn did he sure protect her from the worst of krakenburg.
okay this is interesting
a) she doesn't trust her memory like, at all. it's wild to think that gunter's literally likely the one dude that remembers her early lived life the best considering her other retainers (jakob/flora/felicia) were kids even slightly younger than she was, the hoshidan siblings were really young as well, and no other playable nohrian character was around much other than the occasional visit, post her kidnapping.
it's a little terrifying to think about how (i guess, if you interpret the game that way?) anankos was possessing him way back when and had free reign around corrin. that's kind of why i'm not totally in love with that interpretation (that'd be the perfect time for anankos to take out/corrupt corrin. why didn't he?).
anyway
b) that 'closed off' line says a lot from him, considering Gunter's hardly a socialite, either. in fact their whole support chain was framed around corrin seeking him out because he starkly seeks out alone time so much that it's a little ... isolating.
so like, if mister 'nah i don't need to be around people' is saying that, sheesh. i dabble in it with this slowburn fic, but i could almost see corrin being selectively mute at times, and hiding from people days at a time.
their dynamic ain't normal by any means but you can see how that kind of early-stage trauma bonding on both of their sides would influence [gestures at] everything, you know?
gunter's not just a father("figure"). or just a combat instructor. or just a mentor, or later, just a lover -- he's something that's more, even all combined. there's a hardwired sense of trust and codependency that's seared into them from the get-go.
(it's fucked up! god it's fun to write though.)
so i ambled away from my computer at this line while screenshotting these and only afterwards realized that this out of context sounds like a goddamn porno LMAO

so this is right about where i really have to say i genuinely cannot see their (romantic) relationship being anything but a kink relationship. (and i say this in the fic notes but it's not the 'bdsm acronym pasta garbage' sense, and it's not in the 50 shades of grey cliche 24/7 M/s sense either, god i cannot fucking stand the cliche version of that shit. shoot me if i ever write that.)
and i say that for several reasons.
one - if you're shipping them, their mutual power dynamics are so hopelessly tangled between them and it's the one language -- in a way -- that they both "speak" later on that is uniquely equipped to handle a lot of that and the trauma junk from both of them in a private, loving, dignifying way. i genuinely mean that, too. rev's possession arc with him, corrin recovering from the mind wipes, etc. they're gonna have to face a lot of unpleasant shit together, and actively grappling at and mutually playing with those realities is, in a complex way, hell of a lot healthier than simply pretending it doesn't exist in the first place.
(two - metatextually i think nintendo intentionally encouraged a kink flavor to gunter/corrin because this ship does squick the fuck out of most other people and i'm not totally unsympathetic to that, so i think it's a way of quickly weeding out everyone except the folks who are genuinely here for this in an unironic sense. )
three - i already wrote up kink analysis re: gunter here lol (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ
four - and sorta on this note, what's interesting is... with a lot of kinksters i know, they knew they vibed differently in that way really early on, even as kids. like even in stupid silly make believe play games they'll tie up barbies in random ass ways or discover in a genuinely innocent way that they like specific sensations of pain they can control. later on as adults, a lot of times the brain wires go [bzzt] and suddenly the world of power or sensation play makes a hell of a lot more sense, and frankly, is a lot more fun in certian sexy arenas of life. sometimes it comes along with trauma junk, sometimes it doesn't, it's not a binary thing (as basically everything isn't).
THAT IS A LOT OF WORDS TO SAY corrin also inadvertently being wired that way and having these little semi-accidental lines doesn't actually surprise me that much. (i can also see this specific line being a little bit of a 'hrmm' flag for gunter in that she's not going to run away instantly screaming at the idea of playing these specific kinds of games, later on once when/if they're romantic)

i have no issue talking about dnd stuff i've done !!
i love to DM, as much fun as being a player is i've always preferred DMing just cause im a control freak and i need to know whats going on lmao. the main campaign i ran was called quest for darkwell, i planned it for over a year and it had three players. i spent a year crafting a world and it's characters and essentially built a story about three travelers who came together to cash in on a quest with an enormous pay out that involved traveling to an island kingdom known as darkwell and saving them from a corrupt monarch. it was extremely taz balance in the sense of going to different areas on the map and finding an artifact and then fighting the final boss who was an evil queen. that's like the super condensed version obviously there was a lot more to it.
i love story telling (clearly) so writing became the best option for me once dnd stopped happening, now we all live in different states and i'm too busy to write campaigns these days but it'll always have a special place in my heart.
but like also let me put on my spectacles and my white beard and be an old wise man for a second.
i loved and still love dnd. it was a huge part of me for the longest time and while i don't play anymore i still listen to dnd podcasts and it still influences my writing. that being said i can recall the exact moment dnd was ruined for me.
3/4 of the way through quest for darkwell i had a plot twist that involved time travel and like this huge thing with a religious figure who ended up being evil yada yada yada. and i was extremely proud of myself for coming up with it, it involved a lot of preparation and it was something i really cared about. two of my players adored it. they played pretty heavily into it and really got into the roleplaying and it was a really fun moment for me. i noticed that my third player was a little quiet and i brushed it off. it was the end of a very long session and the other two were hamming it up so maybe he was just tired.
the session ended and i was extremely happy with how things went, then my third player in front of the other players flat out told me that he didn't like what i did and that i ruined his character.
i had spent about a year and a half on the campaign at that point, i worked extremely hard to make the world as enjoyable as possible for my friends and in an instant i resented everything i'd built. i spent the next two weeks literally hating myself for what i'd done and i hated my npc's and i hated darkwell. the next time we had a session i literally couldn't bring myself to DM. i told my players i just wasnt in the mood and we never had a session, i came up with excuses until finally the player who had originally made the comments that caused the entire issue texted the gc and said 'so are we just never going to play again' and i responded with yup.
so anyway, the moral of this story is to be fucking kind to people who make you free content.
it's taken me a long time to come to terms with the fact that that wasn't a kind thing to do. if he had had issues with the direction his character was going in he could have told me in private and i would have fixed it. so BE FUCKING KIND TO YOUR WRITERS. they are giving you something that is special to them and they are giving it to you while expecting nothing in return. the least you can do is be kind and if you can't do that then just be quiet.

Did exactly as you said and read chapter 4. It’s now 3 hours later and I’m still in pieces. Took another nap but I still feel so emotionally/physically drained lmao I was genuinely sobbing into my pillow and I had to pause several times to either marinate in my feelings or play a song that I thought fit the scene I’d just read (literally listened to Instant Crush by Daft Punk ft. Julian Casablancas 3 times at one point like... “that summer memory that just never dies, we worked too long and hard to give it no time. He sees right through me, it's so easy with lies, cracks in the road that I would try and disguise. He runs the scissors at the seam in the wall. He cannot break it down or else he would fall. One thousand lonely stars hiding in the cold”). Babes I was going THROUGH IT. So hopefully this makes sense🤞
"That first conversation in it was entirely redone thanks to you ♥” god I’m so flattered! It was absolute perfection and it hurt so good. I have no idea how it used to look before our conversation but the way you had Armand on the verge on a panic attack? with everything crumbling down around him during those brief moments in which he thought he’d lost Daniel again... stunning. "How could you possibly think saying something like that is fair when just last night I told you how your running affected me? Am I meant to be kept on the pillory for this entire trip while you come away unscathed?" Armand asked. "It's not fair, Daniel." NO IT’S NOT, and Daniel owning up to it and trying to comfort him even in the middle of a fight was so lovely, so him.
This though: “There’s a part near the back, the purple post it? Read me that part,” Daniel said. “I want to hear it from your own mouth.” NO. LISTEN. I put down my phone, phisically backed away from it and said “OH SHIT”. It was fucking brutal and I was speechless. My favorite bit so far I think but I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to actually read it again. Wow.
And I just love your use of rain as a motif here, and the weather in general, them driving through a thunderstorm both externally and internally is such a great choice. And how them getting through the worst part meant they were almost there. Besides, rain was also a thing in canon for them, and I’d like to think Anne made a deliberate choice when she gave them their first “big” moment together in years, alone in the rain, like you did here. In both instances it feels like it’s about washing away regrets, insecurities, doubts, and finally having them see each other as they are.
“I want the Armand that woke up excited every day looking for a new adventure, where has that part of you gone? Did it really die with me?” Yeah THIS. I think it’s something that gets brough up often in fandom conversations (maybe not as explicitly as you put it here but it’s the underlying message we’ve been trying to convey imo). How serious, stiff, aloof Armand seems in later books, like he’s just going through the motions, only kind of coming back to life whenever Lestat is around or something’s happened to him. But that overly excited, curious, affectionate, intense young man we met in QotD seems to be gone for good. Like that’s a version of him nobody but Daniel met (maybe only the boys at the palazzo? but that was Amadeo, not Armand, so it’s not the same), only to disappear forever after Daniel left. Seeing Armand tell him that he also misses that part of himself and wants to recover it felt like a punch in the gut.
“Wondered what exactly it was that had turned his emotions into these calcified things that were trapped inside of him, impossible for anyone to excise no matter how much they loved him.Perhaps it was Marius. Something passed on in the blood, a genetic indisposition to being vulnerable. Some flaw of the personality, as immutable as the length of his hair or the color of his eyes. Forever frozen in time by his immortal blood”. Fuck. I mean we know others have wondered. Marius said just as much at some point didn’t he? How he thought Amadeo’s eyes had been “cruel” even as a mortal boy, how there was something innately wrong with him that he couldn’t wipe away even with all the love in the world. And then Armand himself saying how he feels there’s an “eternal winter” inside of him, how everything he holds in his hands, as you put it, “crumbles into dust”. GOD.
And then when Daniel started sobbing? I WAS SOBBING. Armand feeling like he had to get out of the car to comfort him or otherwise he’d lose him for good broke me.
“There was no real need for him to look over to change lanes, except the desire to catch another glimpse of Daniel’s curious expression. Armand’s heart fluttered fast as Amadeo’s when their eyes met. “What was that look for?” Daniel asked. “Nothing. I was only checking the traffic.” AWWWW my babies, I love them sm they’re getting there!!! 🥹 And I LOVE how you keep building up that kiss they haven’t had yet. I have no doubt it’ll live up to the hype. Every single line in this is canon to me ofc you’re incredible xoxo DA ❤️

Yeah, in draft one Daniel kinda just....got away with it haha Armand got called out for pushing him away when he was just trying to comfort him, but Daniel caught no flack at all for running off and didn't apologize and I thought NOPE, no that's wrong. They gotta touch on that problem and Armand can't let this trip just be the Roast of Armand de Romanus. So. There :) I'm glad it worked!! I think the story is much better for it.
It is a topic they bump up against again but that's a quieter, less charged moment.
The book conversation though! I wanted THAT to happen for a long time. What's more brutal than being forced to read out your own words and explain them? Nothing!! And I think it's something that was on Daniel's mind the first time he ever read that part. He wanted to hear it from Armand's mouth because he couldn't believe it was real.

Thank you!! I really wanted them to HAVE to drive slow, to need to stop at some point. And rain was the best way to do it. I actually forgot it was raining the night Daniel died! It's such a nice accidental parallel.

Right! I think about it a lot. I mean, it makes sense in the wake of his attempt at going into the sun. Depression isn't cured just because he survived. But it's really strange that he's got two fledglings living in his home and he just doesn't seem happy. It's like he never did the work to figure out what made him so unhappy in the first place, so Daniel has to push him to look at that and figure it out.

Exactly. I don't think he's cruel like Marius characterized him. I think he's traumatized, he's had C-PTSD immortalized into his veins via the blood. The eternal winter in him is just all the things he never worked through and that Daniel is going to ask him to sort through now so he can understand him and start to heal with ihm.
