opinion: ro’s character might be a lot more useful narrative-wise if her being a microbiologist wasn’t just acknowledged, but explored.
in the books, we see her show the characters (and consequently, the reader) that she knows what she’s doing, and that ogres pride themselves on having a lot of knowledge when it comes to microbiology. particularly using that knowledge to make effective weapons, both almost harmless and lethal.
but there’s so much more potential w/ ogre microbiology than just them having good weapons because of it. ogres (authorities, at least, like ro) being interested enough in expanding their microbiology knowledge that they’d be willing to collaborate more with other species? like how they cooperated with lady cadence on figuring out how soporidine works? it could open so many doors!
we could have ro branching out to make ‘trial run’ alliances with other species (like elves, goblins, and most importantly, gnomes) to do joint studies of how certain things work on a microscopic and ‘normal’ scale. we could see that her being a princess doesn’t just mean she’s a good fighter and that she’s got connections, but she can also be a diplomat. it’d make her being in the lost cities a lot more important, plus, it’d be a great chance for shannon to flex some worldbuilding. ro could also flesh out connections she’s made in the lost cities (like with sophie’s bodyguards [i’m thinking of flori and sandor in particular] and elvin authorities she’s had to deal w/ like mr. forkle and the council) through sharing or gaining knowledge as a microbiologist.
using ro as a character-driven plot device, ogres could add ‘willing to cooperate even with creatures we have negative history with for science’ to their reputation among other enlightened species. it’d make ogres more nuanced, and maybe, if shannon decided to go this route, cause problems for elves who claim their interspecies role is being peacekeepers.
#i am having brainworms about the untapped potential of ro as a character ok#i wanna see her be more than the stand-in for wattpad sokeefe girlies!!#believe it or not this is the shorter version of what i originally wrote#like. she doesn't have to give up being an excellent warrior!! she doesn't have to give up being snarky!!#but she can be less 'oh look what i know and you don't hahaha LOSER'#and more 'listen if i give you this info will you tell me how this works?'#and it'd be so much more interesting!#also her maybe bonding with elwin over biology would be SUCH a win#strangers to 'you seem cool and we're also the closest keefe has to parental figures of sorts so we're bros now'#like. c'mon. it'd be so great man#also i keep picturing ro picking up flori and putting her on her shoulder#and walking around wildwood and going 'tell me how this works from your pov'#after pointing at some gnomish phenomenon#and then listening to flori ramble#and then when she's done going 'alright. that sounds funky in a good way. wanna see what science has to add?'#and then ro whips out a microscope she just has bundled up in one of her ten million pockets and runs a mini experiment with flori#manipulating the plant to do something and ro looking in the microscope and adding commentary on how that works on a cellular level#and them becoming friends!! perhaps. maybe even. because i have accidentally dug myself into a new rarepair hell. lovers#ogre queen ro being independent on the throne is something i love and is realistic#but it'd also be fun from a fanon point to have her just have a gnomish gf. or permanent fiancee. or wife#like. oh yeah i killed the guy my dad forced me to marry so i could get the throne after my dad died.#yeah i'm committed to this cute little gnome that i met because our charges were dating back when i was a bodyguard#pleeeeease. ro's snark + flori's genuine attitude towards everything?? them bringing out their main traits in each other??#plus the fucking HEIGHT DIFFERENCE?? it'd be so cute oh my god#as a lesbian of short stature i think flori deserves a tall buff lady to sweep her off her feet#also flori sweeping ro off her feet using a tree or something would be funny as FUCK#might ramble on ro and sandor tolerating each other better because of studying how transforming a corpse to gold works and then expanding#that concept to apply to other things would be cool to see#kotlc#keeper of the lost cities

So, for the Supervillain Danny and Everlast Trio Villains Au's....
What about Jazz?
Since I understand everyone's villain alter ego is based around their trauma and becoming their own antithesis and what not, I'd like to think that Jazz's alter ego would be a bad girl, kinda like Ember and Kitty (the former who mind controlled her twice and the latter who almost took her place while slowly corrupting her), maybe with a hint of Spectra (the school councilor thing, the hospital thing, and that one time with all three of them).
Instead of being the nice, normal girl who tries to be perfect, she's a loose cannon who does all the wild teen stuff, doesn't care about anyone accept for those who are in her 'gang', and will absolutely resort to violence the first chance she gets. Maybe she also has some kind of mind control powers, given how these incidents relate to her being under someone else's control.
Maybe she doesn't come around as often, because she has college and the like, but once she does, things get messy as she takes the chance to let out all her school related stress.

Tumblr media
Jazz had almost no childhood since she helped raise Danny from a very young age. She's intelligent and respectful and really wants to be an excellent example for Danny, so she acts as such. Therefore, Jazz never got to go through her 'teenage rebellion' phase. She wears modest clothes and upholds a pretty solid moral code. So here I present Nightingale, the punk-rock social justice warrior who comes and goes like a hurricane. She takes on the name Nightingale to avoid confusion, but once the JL realizes she and Fenton are related, some of the members consider going on a very long vacation to another world so they don't have to deal with this shit.
Now for her powerset, I'm not entirely sure if she should play meta or not. It's a common trope in fics that Jazz has been ecto-contaminated from her parent's experiments, thus giving her some sort of body enhancement. I played on that to give her a set of ears and teeth that match Danny's. She may not have ghost powers, but if she's fighting alongside Team Phantom, she must have some freaky abilities, right? (I love the mind control idea, btw) I feel like Jazz would be the Exception, where she's obviously enhanced in some way, but it's not an obvious power she can consciously separate herself from. It's like trying to tell your body to stop using your eyes. Unless other outside forces are preventing it, Jazz can't really not use her enhanced strength or speed. It drives the JL nuts because either Nightingale is a very weak meta or just an Olympic-level teenage athlete, and no one will spill the beans.
Also, this is personal preference, honestly, but I think it'd be really fucking funny if the DC universe is where Jazz and Danny have all their sibling fights. At home, they have to put up a united front so their parents don't get suspicious and the house doesn't kill them. (Also so none of the rogues takes advantage of their anger at each other) But they're siblings. Even if Jazz and Danny are the best of friends, they have to have arguments over the stupidest stuff. That's practically rule number one of having a sibling. So they go there to blow off steam and duke it out like they've always wanted to. It's mostly to release tension and stress, but each fight is getting more and more elaborate, and this whole thing is ridiculous. None of the heroes get paid enough for this. They're just gonna sit back and watch the show.

Neteyam Sully x Omatikayan oc/reader
Warning: light smut and Fluff, neteyam and reader are aged up
Wordcount: 1.8K
Charater: I use a name because it's easier for me to write but change it with yours or whatever you want, the character is female, daughter of two strong warriors of the Omatikaya clan, she herself is known for her dowry in battle.
( I accept requests if you have ideas I would love to hear them, I accept requests on Jake sully, Lo'Ak, neteyam, Kiri, Tsireya, aonung and Neytiri, all kinds of stories are welcome ;) write in private or in The comments 💙
and sorry for any grammatical errors but this is not my first language ♥♡
We had grown up in the Metkayina clan by now, I have a nice scar on my shoulder from the battle but I can say that I saved Nateyam from certain death.
Now I'm remembered as the strong warrior with the heart scar, I'm still not too used to the way of fighting of this water clan it doesn't come too natural to me even if according to Ronal and Tsireya I'm an excellent warrior also for this clan.
" how are you?" Tsireya asks gently looking at me from the water and leaning her elbows on the wooden bridge "Me? I don't know if I want to talk about it...Why don't we talk about you and Lo'Ak? Your love problems empty my mind" I say wallowing feet in the clear water next to her "ok...then it's pretty good apart from my mother doesn't agree too much on our relationship as always, she thinks Lo'Ak is reckless and that I should look for a serious man to mate with and marry" she snorts as she floats and looks at the sun kissing her skin " well I've been friends with the Sullies since I can remember and can confirm your mother's words Lo'Ak is reckless and reckless but he's a very good friend as well as I also think a great boyfriend, he's faithful, loyal and tremendously sweet and sensitive more than I want to admit and show" I say smiling softly to my friend "I don't know I wanted you know...to take the next step with him to connect, but my mother does not give me his blessing and not I feel like doing it behind her back I think she would kill me first and then the guilt "I look at her fake shocked" do you want to connect?! Know that after I want to know everything the first time is always crazy" I laugh and she splashes me with water giggling embarrassed " as if you two have never done " shrug " Neteyam and I joined our braids several times but we never we find ourselves too much in agreement on when to take the other step " she looks at me smiling " why don't we talk about you and Neteyam then ?" I roll my eyes and she giggles " I was going to kill him this morning about what Neteyam and I have different visions, he wants to recreate the stability of his family but I'm more of a solitary warrior than a mother of a family" I say throwing myself in the water with her "yes? " she giggles following me " I want to fight, it's my nature I was born for this I'm descended from generations of warriors but I know that sooner or later we should have children and I won't be able to be a warrior anymore like this... well I almost killed myself more than once i sometimes wonder why he chose me as his mate i'm so difficult and on the other hand i'm afraid to disappoint him i'm afraid i'm not worthy of neytiri as a yardstick she's crazy as a mother " she swims around me and laughs " but you want to take that step with him I can see it from your eyes, you two complement each other as Lo'ak and I complement each other, and if you want children you will do something else for a while, you will hunt and I could teach you something about a healer plus it doesn't mean that as soon as you do that you'll get pregnant you're 20 you have time for that you'll be a great mother because it's you you protected your own mate with your life you looked after Tuk and Kiri and thank God you kept an eye on Lo'Ak when or I can't, you're a bit grumpy it's true maybe you love being on your own, but believe me you would give your life for each of the people you care about and with them you change you are a mountain of sugar with them your eyes light up when you look after them to Tuk and when Nete shows you affection, you don't have to be Neytiri, you are you and clearly in everyone's eyes you will be a perfect mother and above all in Neteyam's eyes, he has chosen you as a mate because you are meant to be together and to be also parents together" I snort and go under the water " you know that taking care of isn't for me and yes I can't wait to do it with Nete and I thank you for those words I think they really help me these days, I love you Tsireya " I say with sign language hug her "Ali'iem you will think about it when it happens, continue with your normal life just take that step we all love you and we will be with you forever" we continue to swim and hunt together for a while and then I go back to the my tent with anc now the mind crowded with thoughts.
As I pull my wet hair back I see a red strand in my hair my eyes widen 'will this be a sign of Eywa?' "every day you are more and more beautiful you know that?" I feel Neteyam's delicate hand on my waist while his lips gently rest on my neck and I smile slightly " sorry if I was a bit stubborn and unreasonable with you earlier" I say, turning to look him in the eyes he smiles softly at me " we'll think about it if it happens right?" I smile back, infected by his , before giving me a kiss on the lips "sure" he replies "you know I think Tsireya and Lo'Ak will join for the first time it's a great thing for those two" he chuckles " it's an important step but Lo'Ak is completely crazy about Tsireya I knew he would get there and then she calms him down makes him think a little more and that's good for everyone" he giggles pulling his hair into a ponytail involuntarily showing me his muscles of his back tense, he turns his gaze catching mine passing over him "am I beautiful?" He asks teasing me "beautiful" I say giggling and he approaches me leaving me a few kisses on the corners of my mouth, I put my hands on his chest tracing the darkest signs with my fingers.
It's a moment that Neteyam hugs me more and finally he kisses me on the lips properly and I feel the need to connect with him " Nete..." I call him softly sighing Ali'iem ?" His pupils are wide and he looks at me softly but at the same time a shadow passes through his eyes, I gently stroke his face and I quickly reach his braid stroking it, he smiles and moves it to his shoulder holding it in his hand, I quickly do the same and bring my end closer to his connecting us, a moment of ecstasy that soon leads us to everything else, Neteyam rests his forehead on mine and squeezes my waist gently, I can feel he is holding back a lot he licks his lips, his breath is heavy and then he can't take it anymore and kisses my lips looking into my eyes "Nete let's do it..." I hiss through my teeth looking into his eyes "are you sure? " I nod letting him kiss me passionately, I have no more thoughts if not Neteyam.
He puts me on our 'bed' without ever detaching from me, our tails caress us and it's as if everything came from if we don't think too much concentrated on both our sensations and those of the other, I perceive his ecstasy, his love and his wish .
It doesn't take long that our intimacies are connected giving a feeling and sensations never experienced before, the slow but decisive movements of his pelvis make me feel an intense pressure in my lower abdomen, the deep and hoarse grunts of neteyam do nothing but increase this sensation that makes small noises of pure pleasure come out of my lips.
When his hands squeeze my thighs bringing them higher and resting them on his shoulders making me see the stars with a stronger push than the previous ones, my hands squeeze his back scratching him slightly.
The rhythm of his thrusts doesn't waver and I feel that feeling of pressure inside me about to burst "Nete...I..." I don't have time to say much because that pressure explodes completely making me scream nothing but his name which I he too says my name several times feeling my walls tighten around him, a feeling of burning heat floods me and then moments of silence where only the sound of our breaths makes noise in the air, I see him smiling above me looking at me with slightly tired eyes and a few drops of sweat on his forehead.
From a tender kiss on my leg before letting them both fall snugly around his slim waist, he kisses my lips multiple times before framing my entire face with soft comforting kisses, my legs still shaking.
We don't separate our braids nor our bodies but the guy above me switches positions letting me doze peacefully on his chest, while he watches me rest I hear the rumble of his purr on his chest which also starts mine letting him kiss his chest and her soft lips "hey…Ohe see ngenga and you are the best woman that could happen to me whatever happens I will always be with you" he says moving a strand of hair from my damp forehead, I smile at him tenderly "Ohe see ngenga too, and yes I think you won't get rid of me that easily either.” I rest my chin on his chest as I watch him already fantasizing about something I'll have the pleasure of discovering later.
𓇽༆𓇽
The next morning my legs were screaming in pain but this didn't relieve me of my duties, as always I met Tsireya taking a bath together " Ali'iem you are really slow this morning you won't take anything so" she will try again " Tsireya give me peace my legs they're screaming in pain "she whips her head towards me" you? You? Have you taken the step? You've mated tell me yes please I can't wait to see little puppies of the forest with your big emerald eyes " she takes my hands all too excited " yes yes we did but I don't know yet if I'm pregnant we'll just find out further on " she dives in and caresses my flat belly and I see her gesturing under the water a ' great mother make it a girl ' I giggle seeing her return to the surface " you are impossible you know ? Really embarrassing " she squirts me but whatever happens i can't keep a sincere smile off my face i have no more worries i just want to be with Neteyam forever " anyway me and Lo'ak bonded " i open my mouth in shock as she swims fast away from me“ COME HERE YOU MUST TELL ME EVERYTHING“.

Johnny Cage × Reader
Chapter 2
You're a fan girl but he kinda likes it because the attention
Tumblr media
You have several questions and a cartoonishly embarrassing moment...
"So where am I exactly...?" I really tried not to push but I'm slowly going insane.
"You are, for whatever reason, at Wu Shi Academy. Here, we have carefully selected warriors train to be the best version of themselves. My name is Liu Kang, and you are Y/n. Yes?" We came across a shady but vibrantly pink tree that he decided to lean himself on.
I squint at his relaxed figure. "How do you know my name..."
"It's my duity to know. You may not understand why, but you are here for a reason, one that I regret to inform you is not something I know."
This whole thing seems like something straight out of a fantasy action film. Warriors? Training? Guy with glowing eyeballs? Yeah...I'm not following. He knows my name but not why I'm here. Or maybe he has an idea but doesn't want to share that hypnosis with me.
"Let's get you something to eat. You look famished, and we are nothing without hospitality. We can have a bath drawn for you and some fresh clothes waiting." He put a firm hand on my shoulder and led me up a stone staircase.
---
The bath is warm, and I'm not used to taking baths anymore. If I'm being completely honest with myself, I am ashamed of how I look. It's hard to be clean when you don't have a home to shower at, even harder to have clean clothes to cover my bruised and stiff body.
Warm water coats my body like a blanket, and the porcelain room smells like sweet florals. I don't even know how I'll be able to live with myself after being reminded how nice it is to be dirt free.
Whoever set this up for me had meticulously placed soaps for me to use along with some body oil. I feel bad refusing the kindness, so after I scrubbed my body of the impurities, I coated myself in a thin layer or the scented oil.
There was a small wooden bench next to the door with some neatly folded garments for me to slip into, but as I'm pulling the black tank top over my head I hear a soft knock at the door.
"Uh! Just one moment, please. I'll be out in a sec, sorry if I took too long." I can't deal with the stress of anyone seeing me. It's a nice bathroom, but there is ZERO lock.
I finish pulling on the pants, seemingly the same orange uniform that I saw on the men that were outside.
A gentle feminine voice rang through the door. "Take your time. My food is not going anywhere." I shly open the door and peak out to see a eldery woman, holding a jade comb. "I forgot to set this out for you, dear. Here you go, when you are ready, just follow the stairs back down and outside, I'll be waiting there."
"Wait! Thank you for all of this...um"
"You can call me Madam Bo"
---
At the bottom of the steps, she was waiting with Liu Kang. They were discussing casually, and all I got from the conversation was him thanking her for making dinner along with her saying something about visiting.
"I hope everything fits you well." Liu Kang regarded my clouthes and giving me a steady offer of his hand. I took it hesitantly as my feet met the stone path before nodding and letting him go.
"Yeah.. they fit perfectly. The bath was very nice, thank you both, but I don't understand why you insist on all of this for a stranger."
Madam Bo placed a hand on my back as we started to walk. "Can we not simply want to be kind?" She playfully taunted me.
---
There was a big table set up, and many of the men that had finished their training for the evening were sat at the table, conversing.
When they saw us walk up, all of them stood and gave a generous bow. Liu Kang dismissed it with a smile and wave of his hand, and they continued as they were.
"How are your champions Liu Kang?" Madam Bo asked the god-like man.
He let out a disgruntled sigh and palmed at his face. "They are doing well honestly, still need more training. Raiden and Kung Lao are excelling of course."
"Of course indeed! After all the learned from the best." She let out a playful scoff as Liu Kang continued on.
"Kenshi and Johnny seem to be at each others throat. Not in a sinister way, but they definitely have an underlying rivalry. We should be seeing them here shortly." Hy ears perked up at 'the J word, before that I was trying to be respectful and not listen in on the semi-personal conversation.
"Huh? Johnny?" I felt my limbs tingle in excitement, I wasn't paying much attention, but obviously, it can't be the same Johnny I'm thinking about. That's close to impossible.
"You know Johnny?" Liu Kang raised a eyebrow at my words. Don't do it Y/n. Don't. Oh god I can't not talk about the greatest actor of all time.
"Well I don't think it's the same Johnny that you are thinking of but, I'm like the biggest super fan of Johnny Cage, the actor. Sorry if it's completely off topic!"
Liu Kang opened his mouth for a short moment but closed it and gestured me to continue. I have never actually been given the opportunity to talk about this interest of mine and felt like I was going to explode from the excitement of sharing it with someone.
"He's only the absolute greatest actor of ALL time. Single handedly, the coolest and funniest famous person I have ever had the blessing to see work! He does his own stunts and fighting scenes and that kind of dedication to the craft of cinema is hard to find now and days!"
He widened his eyes at my fast-paced rambling and glaced behind me before opening his mouth but being cut off.
"AND it's downright terrible that he hasn't gotten any roles lately! He's just so hard working, and you can tell he puts his soul into his work and actually enjoys it! Not only that, but I heard that his wife divorced him, which is absolutely crazy because who in their right mind wouldn't want THE Johnny Cage! He's talented, funny, sweet, caring, AND not to mention gorgeous. Like, is she blind? Is she out of her absolute mind? Not that I'd be able to ever get the chance to tell him this, but he doesn't deserve that. Johnny deserves someone to appreciate him for how he is, and it's criminal that someone like HIM gets divorced. If I had it my way, he'd be praised every damn day for the work he does! If I ever had the chance, which I know how super unlikely that is, I would give him just that. Wait, that sounds creepy. I swear I'm not one of those insane stalker fans-"
"Y/n. You are very passionate about this and thank you for trusting me enough to share your interests but-"
I felt a tap on my shoulder. Wait, what? I turn around and see Johnny the fucking Cage looking down at me with a totally not subtle smirk.
"Glad to know I still got it. So about you praising me every day pretty lady?"
---
You faint. YOU FUCKING FAINTED!!!
Tumblr media
Oooo cliff hanger!!!
I'd like to point out that I am, in fact autistic and so I am writing the reader with neroudivergent tendencies. Like in this particular case, info dumping!
If you don't know this, info dumping can happen when a neroudivergent individual gets excited at the mention or opportunity of discussing a topic of interest. This intense interest in a topic is called a special interest! Hope you guys enjoy the read!

Oghren Branka - A Broken Dwarf
Tumblr media
Out of all of the original Dragon Age Origins companions, I've always found Oghren to be the most fascinating one in how rare it is to see someone actually do a full breakdown of the alcoholic, berserker dwarf, despite arguably having the most interesting and deep under the surface aspects to his character.
So i'll rectify that here, by doing a full delve into Ogren as a character, and the rather tragic tale of the last member of house Branka.
Oghren was a member of Orzammar's warrior caste, bred, born, and raised to be a warrior, a role that by all accounts he excelled at.
Oghren is famous for being probably the biggest alcoholic in the franchise, but according to lore, this actually wasn't a part of his personality before way later down the line, and came about due to a spiral downwards.
Oghren, like all warrior caste dwarves was raised to be an absolute killing machine, who's life was going to be devoted to killing darkspawn, and killing more darkspawn, and then killing more darkspawn.
This part of his life, Oghren excelled at. He was great at killing his enemies from day one, and won fame and glory.
Unfortunately, the thing that defined Oghren as a person, was the very brutal struggle, of, and Bioware's take on how hard it is for soldiers to reintegratd into societies after their states does everything they can to make them into tools for killing.
And in Oghren's case, this began with his family.
When young, Oghren was interested in a young woman named Felsi.
Tumblr media
The two hit it off quite well, only for Oghren to be forced into a political marriage with a certain woman named Branka from the smithing caste, a political match that was seen as mutually beneficial at the time.
This marriage was the single worst thing that ever happened to Oghren and everyone he had ever cared about.
Tumblr media
Branka would in very short time rise to become a Paragon, the only one in living memory, a living ancestor in Dwarven Society, making her the most powerful and influential woman in Orzammar, but that part is not the one I want to focus on.
Instead I want to focus on Oghren and Branca's relationship, and how it quickly fell apart.
Their relationship started okay, and in the first year there doesn't seem to have been that many problems. Things would change however.
Branca, as we learn from Oghren's talk had plenty of serious mental issues, like massive and spontaneous mood swings, and a tendency for sudden violence for the smallest offenses.
The innitial target of which seems to have been her her husband Oghren.
Oghren makes no secret of the fact that Branca was pretty violent with him, in particular the fact that she seriously damaged the hearing on one of his ears, and once attacked him for misplacing her tongs.
Tumblr media
Also, there is a bit of subtleness to Oghren's design that adds to how bad this relationship became for him.
Oghren has a permanent injury around one of his eyes, which makes it look like he's always squinting. The most likely culprint being his wife hitting him with something heavy and blunt, which never healed properly, giving him his iconic squinty eyed look.
We don't have anything to suggest Oghren ever actually defending himself physically from his wife, but if his own testimony is to be believed, their usual way of making up after one of these outbursts was makeup sex, which suggest that there was a rather sad cycle of spousal abuse, regret, then make up in the form of sex, then another bout of abuse, then rinse and repeat.
The usual cycle really.
Things got more complicated however, once Branka became a paragon, putting her firmly above her husband in rank as far as she could go.
And it's here that Oghren's life really began to take a turn for the worst, and where the drunkard who drowns himself in alchohol to try and forget how shitty his life is really began.
In very short succession, Branka, likely due to the mounting pressure upon her after becoming paragon, turned far worse towards Oghren, and their marriage began to rapidly crumble. But her becoming paragon had other consequences as well, the most obvious being that Branka became the head of the household, and absorbed Oghren's entire family into the new house of Branca under her.
Branka then began to shun Oghren completely, making her disdain for him open for all to see, while also cuckolding him with his own cousin Hespith(though Oghren wouldn't learn about that until years later).
This in turn, made Oghren's entire family follow suit, and he was quickly completely isolated and shut off from his own family, the same family that forced him into this marriage in the first place.
Oghren had already begun drinking to try and cope with his failing marriage at this point, and the way his entire family turned their back on him to please Branka just kicked that dependence off the deep end.
Then Branka committed herself to her great folly, and over Oghren's objections, took their entire family with them on her mad quest into the deep roads for a magical anvil... While forcing Oghren to stay behind so she could get to fuck her lover hespith on the side as she pleased without him around.
Needless to say, though Oghren didn't completely understand the full reasons for why everyone considered him a laughingstock at this point(the relationahip with Hespith was an open secret in Orzammar) , he kore than felt the effects of being alone, forgotten and abandoned by his family in a city that ridiculed him while still demanding he go out and kill darkspawn for them.
It was at this point that the Oghren we all know really began, as Oghren drowned himself in booze, embraced terrible jokes, and became the man with the most inappropriate pick up lines there is, desperate for anyone to give him any affection at all.
It was at this point Oghren for the first time cheated on his declared dead wife, seeking out Felsi. The renewed relationship did not last long. Oghren's downward spiral had already completely changed his personality, and she quickly left him.
At this point, Oghren really was at his lowest. Abandoned by everyone he had ever loved, alone, only having booze for comfort, and still having to regularly go out and fight darkspawn.
It's also here we see some of Oghren's hidden noble side, as at one single point he refused to buckle on, and that was his wife's fate.
Oghren refused(correctly) to assume Branka was dead and would pester the government time, and time, and time again to send out a rescue party to find her and bring her home.
Nobody took him seriously, and instead treated him like a joke... All the way until a young noble mocked Branka in his hearing and made it plain for all to hear that Branka could not possibly have survived that long in the deep roads.
The end result was that Oghren, in a drunk rage challenged the young man to a duel, then killed him, when it was supposed to be a duel to first blood.
Oghren thus changed from drunk pest, to dangerous pest.
In the end he was stripped of his house and the right to bear arms or fight in the city ever again, but was still demanded he fought darkspawn when the time came.
Oghren talks about this in his conversations with the Warden, how the city would turn their warriors into killing machines, strip them of all rules, morals and thoughts except kill and kill, and kill some more... Then put them right back into society, and bind them, and the rage they spent so long training you harness with rules and regulations. Add this with the fact that they will still demand you go out an fight at a moment's notice, it's not hard to see how warriors like Oghren came to be.
It's at this point Oghren has hit seeming rock bottom.
Alone, a joke in a city that will alternate between mocking, and spit on him, no right to defend himself, while still having to go go out and risk life and limb for it.
The only thing that keeps him going at this point, is the desperate hope that Branka and his family might still be alive.
Which brings us to the one soul who might bring him out of his stupor, depending on player choices.
The Hero of Ferelden.
The Hero of Ferelden scoffs at the claims Branka is dead and delves into the deep roads, and takes Oghren along for the ride, looking for her.
It's here that Oghren begins to form some sort of personal bonds again, where he will find the one person who is willing to put up with him, and all his flaws and possibly see him as a friend.
Tumblr media
As the team heads into the deep roads however, they discover the horrible truth.
Branka, in her madness and desperate search for the anvil, sacrificed Oghren's entire family to the darkspawn, intentionally creating broodmothers so she'd have a never ending supply of darkspawn pawns to throw at the anvil defences.
It's not really given the full focus it deserves, because Oghren isn't the kind of person who just lets out absolutely everything, but this moment, this revelation destroys Oghren.
It's the moment where he pretty much just gives up on life, and only follows the Warden around to find a place to die.
In the end, regardless of what you do, his relationship with Branka is over at this point, wheter you save or spare her, leaving him with the knowledge that his entire family is dead and gone, and he's the last one.
At this point he becomes what is seemingly nothing more than comic relief, and due to the unfortunate way Orzammar is struxtured, its usually done last before the landsmeet, meanjng most players won't see most of the deeper parts of Oghren, as they require some prodding to see.
Most notably of these is what happens if you bring him to the guardian at the temple, where the old man wants everyone to relay their sins and regrets, only for Oghren to cut him off when his time comes, and say this:
Why don’t I save you some time? Yes, I wish I could have saved my family from Branka. I wish I’d been a better mate. Maybe she’d have stayed at home with a belly full of baby Oghren and never gone for the anvil. Maybe I failed her. Yes, I came to the surface because I’m barely a dwarf anymore. My family is dead. My honor as a warrior is long gone. I’ve lost my caste and my house and I have nothing else to lose.
This display is really, really sad for a number of reasons, not only because of how far down Oghren has fallen at this point, but also because frankly speaking, Oghren did nothing wrong with Branka. He was the victim here, and yet despite that, he still lays all the blame on himself. It was his fault his family died. It was his fault for being a shitty husband. Not Branka's. His.
Beyond this, Oghren has other interesting observations that shows he is quite a bit more impressive than the sorry, alcoholic cassanova wannabe that he acts as.
He's the only character who figures out that Shale actually remembers killing her master, and that she regrets killing him, as rather than a conscious choice, it was a moment of her completely losing control, just like he did in the proving match so long ago.
He also proves himself a bizarrely good brewmaster, impressing Wynne and the warden withouth the proper facilities to make proper alchohol, and he's the only one who offers any plausible counter explanation for the powers of the temple of sacred ashes other than the power of god(which may or may not be on the money.).
He is also learned in history, and knows the andrastian religion and it's historical players very well for a dwarf, even seemingly having a personal disdain for Hessarionz who he calls a pompous prat.
At this point, where he goes from there is up to the PC's choices, but regardless, there is a lot more to Oghren than meets the eye, far more than the stupidly stereotypical dnd dwarf he presents himself as, in a setting where the dwarves are not all the same as Tolkien's.

I have an MFA in writing, 5 years of therapy, and far too much time. buckle up for my analysis of Gayloy from burning shores
Ok the MFA is coming in 3 weeks, but WHOO BOY i have thoughts.
Click below for spoilers. DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU FINISH.
As a bi woman who writes lesbians professionally, I want it known that I was 1000% on board with them as a couple, and cleared literal days of my schedule to play it and confirm.
And I still don't think Aloy is ready for romance. I think The Kiss is the least plausible, and least enjoyable, of the three endings.
Let's dive into why.
It starts at childhood, as always.
Aloy has grown up an outcast. She relied on herself and Rost--and then Rost died, and it was just her. Every single chance she's had, she's rebuked romance. She wrote it off as "I'm saving the world" or "I just don't know how people work yet," but the reality is that she doesn't know HOW to rely on people.
Vulnerability is a learned skill.
I'll say it again. VULNERABILITY is a LEARNED skill.
Some people, those with healthy households, learn this skill early on, and practice it often. Those are the people we see giving everything of themselves to someone they love. They feel deeply, empathize well, and have happy relationships.
And then there's people like Aloy. Someone who was shown love from one person--and a whole lotta hate from the rest of them. Someone who grew up being told that she couldn't rely on a tribe--because if she failed the Proving, there wouldn't BE a tribe to rely on. Rost hoped for the best... and prepared her for the worst.
Then she dove into the world at large, and was presented time and time again with romance opportunities. The Sun King is the biggest one--obviously his infatuation ran deep, but of course it would, finding the one person in a whole kingdom who'd challenge him. She turned him down, and in her mind, she probably reasoned it away in a neat little box.
"I'm not like the other suitors he's met. He only likes me because I'm different."
This can be true.
"But he doesn't know who I really am."
This can be true--but it's also a defense mechanism. A barrier Aloy placed to protect herself from rejection. Because if she convinces herself these people don't really know her, it's easy for her to keep them at arm's length.
Easy to be the lone warrior.
We see the same kind of thing with Varl, hoping to follow her into the wilds. With Erend, so excited to see her, so irritated she doesn't reciprocate. Kotollo viewed her admirably, although I think his personality is a bit too subservient to truly challenge Aloy (essentially his commander) into the growth she needs.
Man after man demonstrated their affection, and she held them all at arm's length. For the good of the world, right?
So, okay. She's a lesbian--or at the very least, bi or pan. We can reason away the men, certainly, but she uses the same techniques with the women. Talanah, our fan favorite, was truly a perfect match for Aloy. Strong, resilient, excellent fighter. They progressed in the same way Seyka did--and yet, Talanah was deep in the throes of another man.
Which was probably a huge fucking relief to Aloy. Because if Talanah was after a guy... then she wasn't an option for Aloy.
Which means Aloy didn't have to do any intensive introspection to discover why they might be a good match.
She could wave Talanah away, and feel absolutely no remorse or grief when Talanah returned home. In fact, Aloy might have even left that experience feeling satisfied that she helped a friend--and be utterly oblivious to the chemistry they could have had.
This is how avoidant people--those who haven't learned to trust, to rely on others, to show vulnerability--experience the world.
And this is somewhat devastating, because Talanah's quest came at the exact time that Varl was teaching Aloy how to empathize, lean on people, be vulnerable for the first time in her life. Aloy didn't have to do it alone--and if Talanah had been in a position to receive it, I think they could have had a spectacular romance.
But it didn't happen.
So, we move on.
Aloy loses Varl, learns to lean on her friends, learns to let people in. This alone is spectacular character growth--but it's easy to have friends. Humans crave it. We need companionship, so once Varl laid the groundwork, Aloy was able to embrace this.
We don't see her embracing romance.
Until Seyka.
This is where the potential had me--and the execution lost me.
Because Seyka is presented as this fantastic option for Aloy--and the starving, desperate fanbase standing behind her. From the first interaction, I had high hopes. When Aloy says, "you must be confused," and Seyka basically responds with "confused about why you'd FLY towards that TOWER OF DEATH, maybe," I was ready for someone who challenges Aloy.
I wanted a love interest who was more competent than Aloy in some ways. I actually liked Varl in that way, before he found Zo: the fact that he challenged Aloy to push her own comfort level in order to embrace others was a great complement to Aloy's abrasive nature.
Seyka, while fantastic, almost feels like an Aloy clone.
They're both competent, capable, and closed-off. They're both hiding secrets to spare the others' feelings--when in reality, they're sparing themselves from tough conversations.
Because that's what Aloy, at least, has been trained to do. Bear the burden alone to spare the others. Fight the machine alone to keep the others safe. She protects fiercely, which means that she never has to be the one experiencing loss.
How convenient. >.>
I love the idea of Seyka. I can't wait to see where fanon takes her personality. But right now, with just the DLC content, it feels like she's the caricature of a romantic interest for Aloy. The perfect girl--in theory. But not when you consider psychology.
There was a huge missed opportunity when Aloy finally revealed Nemesis's existence, in my opinion. Aloy protected Seyka from this Big, Dangerous News to help her morale--and to keep from ruining what they've developed with something possibly devastating.
She finally told Seyka... and Seyka responded by literally fleeing the room in horror.
I get that everyone needs time to process these things. But in my mind, all that reaffirmed for Aloy is, "My instincts were right. I can't rely on others with this Big, Dangerous News. They can't handle it. So, I have to handle it for them."
There was SUCH an opportunity there. A chance for Aloy to tell her, and for Seyka to contemplate it for a moment, smile, and say, "I'm glad you told me. Let's tackle it together."
Something to show Aloy, in that concrete moment, that this is a person she can rely on.
That is what would have made Seyka great, to me.
Everything that followed after is a series of insta-love, in my opinion. Aloy looks at Seyka with near-literal hearts in her eyes, but it didn't feel earned. By the end, I don't feel like Seyka did anything unique that Aloy's friends in Forbidden West hadn't already done to her at some point: rescue her, adventure with her, stop a massive scheme with her.
Seyka, in my mind, doesn't currently have enough personality of her own to stand out. She's just another soldier in Aloy's army.
There will be [straight] people angry at the LGBT+ rep here, and I don't even feel that our community can argue it. As far as lesbian rep goes, that was not a great example of a natural romance. It felt forced for most of that DLC.
But that romance could be great. And that's where I love that the developers added options other than the kiss. As much as I loved the idea of them kissing, I still don't buy it with the scenes we were given.
Seyka latched onto Aloy because Aloy treated her with admiration at a time when Seyka's tribe nearly disowned her. Fair. I believe Seyka might truly be in love with Aloy.
But Aloy herself? There's no way in hell she'd be diving into a romantic relationship after one single adventure with this girl--even one as sweeping as this. Aloy doesn't know who Seyka is. Aloy hasn't seen Seyka in a relaxed setting--only one where she's panicking for her tribe, her sister, and the future. And Aloy's brain will be too logic-entrenched to succumb to emotional impulse alone.
Because that's the interesting thing about avoidant people. They rely on themselves, and their logic. That's what's kept them alive until this point. If Aloy showed vulnerability in the past, she put herself at risk in every sense of the word.
Even Seyka wouldn't be enough to break that barrier right away.
But I do think she could try in the sequel, and that's why I'm thrilled for this character. Someone the developers can truly use to force Aloy to grow emotionally.
To do that, though, the developers will have to dive into Seyka, and show me why she's the person for Aloy. What about her history makes her The Candidate? It can't just be that she's "an inspiration." I need more than that. I need to see Seyka in a relationship, coaxing Aloy through the moments of panic and shattering the barriers Aloy erects out of fear, under the guise of "logic."
Show me that, and I'm on board with a kiss.
Until then, I'll go write some fanfiction.
Sincerely,
An avoidant working through her own shit.
Thank you very much for attending my TED Talk.

Some thoughts on S2 from a first-time watcher!
It's good that I saw a bunch of spoilers before watching S2 and S3, because after seeing how the plot arrived to some of these points, I feel like what I imagined would have worked better; useful for understanding one's own likes and writing.
I thought Toph would have been in bigger danger while in the metal box. In canon she's technically just being dragged back to her family, right? But the emotional impact of her success of bending metal (something believed to be impossible) would have been stronger if she was in a much bigger danger, in worse circumstances, for longer.
Long Feng was so quickly "taken down" at the start when the Earth King decided to stop following him! Yeah the Dai Li still answer to Long Feng but it felt like him losing outward power happened too quickly and he was actually scared that he had lost all power instantly. He even allowed the kids to try to show the king the truth. So which is it, do Long Feng and Dai Li have huge power, or little power?
I liked the plot twist with plot twist with plot twist with plot twist with plot twist with Azula and her goons in Kyoshi warriors' disguises, and the Dai Li still answering to Long Feng. This uplifted the plot part a bit that had been sunk in my mind just before.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jet was actually ok in S2; he succumbed to a weakness of his by getting obsessed with "random" firebenders, but then he truly tried to be of help, he beat the goddamn brainwashing and did everything he could to help Aang and his allies. He was given a "heroic death" offscreen! Perhaps he survived, gravely injured but who knows. The writing portrays him as an ok person at the end.
If he was supposed to be an "evil version" or "irredeemed" version of Zuko, that could have been portrayed only if Jet had demonstrated more, and persistent negative traits that he would refuse to change. Before giving him an on-screen death.
It wasn't very believable to me that Iroh managed to follow Zuko so quietly and so well under lake Laogai; but from spoilers, I was convinced that Zuko had arrived to a moral decision to set Appa free and let go of his need to belong back at the royal family of the Fire Nation, all on his own. That might have been a bigger triumph of character, but... even coming to this decision because Iroh pressured him into thinking about choices (the fact that he had choices), doesn't diminish what he decided by a lot.
Fever was excellent lmao. Iroh gave him some ibuprofen But the subsequent very cheery behaviour feels like big and heavy Copium from Zuko to me!
Damn. Aang literally speedrun all those chakras opening. Guru Pathik seems alright to me and doesn't feel like a huge deus-ex mechanism considering many other elements the show has used. But I feel like the show would have benefitted a LOT more if separate episodes were devoted to unblocking the chakras. Those are supposed to be a big deal, something difficult to overcome for the hero. But also; Aang refusing to let go of Katara right at the moment when he sensed she was in danger, is actually a correct choice (from a narrative standpoint) - we aren't supposed to cheer for him to let her die. Of course we as the audience want him to try to help Katara! However what Guru Pathik had told him about attachment still stands in the writing (maybe it could have been made more clear that this attachment in question means a selfish possessive one). The writing still sets it up so that it seems like Aang WILL have to let go of the attachment in the future to successfully open the last chakra. Just... later, because this is not the right moment! ^^
Oh man. The best the writing could do for Katara was to have her make a dumb joke about Momo knocking over figurines in the war meeting? And the plan was just... "go forth and attack the Fire Nation during a solar eclipse"? This was the best the text could do?? No bits of additional strategy, problem-solving, no Katara being serious about it? And after that she decides to go for tea despite being on a crucial mission? And why would the delicate scroll requiring the Earth King's seal to set the entire army in motion be left to be carried around outside by one girl. Just so that she could run into Zuko and blow his cover, despite having last seen him as broken, crying over his uncle, fighting against his sister the Fire Nation princess. Feels like the plot really got super convoluted here just to get to points it wanted. Sadge.

Maya and The Three: a general analysis
Tumblr media
Today, I bingewatched Maya and The Three (will be shortened to Mat3 from now on), from episode 1 to 9, generally because of a good friend of mine, @rainbowcutie1789 . If not for her, than I'd probably would not even know anything about the show. And by the way, this was a part of a game of Truth or Dare that I played with her (I dared myself and her that we'd watch our favorite shows. She watches my favorite, I watch her favorite), She's watching Ren & Stimpy, by the way (she likes it quite a bit)
This post has (spoilers) for the show, but Let's start!
Plot
Mat3 is a linear show consisting of 9 episodes, and its plot is Maya going on an adventure with the three warriors (Rico - The Rooster, Chimi - The Skull and Picchu - The Puma) as a part of the true Prophesy (hence why the main group are at times called "The Prophecy Friends") to defeat Lord Mictlan (the main antagonist of the show). The show will probably take around ~4:30-5 hours for ya.
Characters
Maya - the poster girl of the series*
*a poster girl (out of "poster boy") is when a character (usually the main character, female in this case) becomes the character that the show is generally associated with and appears as the main focus in promotional material such as, well, posters.
Maya is one of the main characters of the show and (as I said) the poster girl of the series. She's half-human, half-god (so a demigod), being the biological daughter of Lady Micte, the goddess of death and King Teca (guess who he is). She's raised by King Teca and Queen Teca (her stepmother). It's basically confirmed in the show that she falls in love with Zatz, one of her former enemies, former emissiary of Lord Mictlan and the son of Camazotz.
In a nutshell, Maya's generally a brave, adventurous girl.
Great MC and poster girl, 9/10
Zatz - The Prince of Bats, poster boy of the series?
Zatz is the prince of bats, being sort of the poster boy of the series, but mostly because of his handsome design, with a generally glorious, but Gothic-like appearance, as he derives from The Underworld (hell?). As I said, he's Maya's romantic partner, that's why I put him right next to Maya in this post.
Can't say much about the guy, but he's a chill dude, 9/10
Rico - The Rooster (hehe he's like Rico from Brawl Stars)
Rico's generally my favorite character in this show because of his personality. He's just a silly talkative guy! He's a magician and he can use two types, one from his apparently sentient staff Estefan (hehe, get it?) and his more powerful and dangerous type, peasant magic. He's generally a really expressive character for me, that's why he's my favorite.
He was cowardly at first, as we learn from his backstory that
(SPOILER ALERT) when he was at his (likely first) magic talent show, he made fun at by other people when he tried to do magic and he used his Peasant magic, in turn destroying the Luna Auditorium as a whole.
He did start to embrace his magic and used his peasant magic and eventually Estefan.
I love him! Such a silly little guy! 10/10 character.
Chimi - The Skull
Chimi comes from the jungle and was raised there, as she was feared by her people for being albino (and thus, having a very pale look) (being called "Monstruo Blanco" (White Monster))
She's grown to be an excellent archer and somehow speaks perfect English, despite being raised in the jungle?
She paints her face like a skull, likely for her deceased mother, hence why Picchu calls her "Bones girl".
Cool ass character, 10/10
Picchu - The Puma (hehe, his name is like Pichu the Pokemon)
Picchu is the barbarian of the main group. Mercy is his motivation, as he thinks that it's something that he wouldn't give, but it's who he was. He also doesn't really have that much knowledge in English, so he messes up with the language quite a bit.
A Barbaric, but kind guy, 9/10
Lord Mictlan - The Main Antagonist of the show
Lord Mictlan has a badass design and I absolutely LOVE how he can just split his face in half at times. He is the main antagonist though.
10/10 design, 9/10 character.
Minor Characters
Here, I'll mention some side characters of the show
Grand Bruja - I'm only mentioning her because she has a goofy design, with her using her nose for battle once.
Grand Brujo (not to be confused with his daughter, Grand Bruja) - also has a goofy design
Ah Puch - there are three of Ah Puch, I love that.
Camazotz (Zatz' father), Vucub - They have badass designs.
Zyanya - Camazotz' wife and Zatz' mother. She has a funny name. (Not meaning to offend her)
Now, the qualities
The Qualities
The animation and visuals are absolutely amazing! There are moments in the show where the characters just pop out of the movie format and get to the borders of the 16:9 format, mostly in action scenes.
Speaking of the action scenes, they are SICK. I love them.
The animation in general is expressive and smooth, always what I like about something!
The character designs are great all around, from beautiful, to badass, to goofy. The visuals are basically movie-standard!
The voice acting is great! Not much to say more about it.
The show itself
The first 8 episodes are great, with episode 1 introducing us to the Teca and Maya herself, episodes ~2-6 introduces us to the Prophecy friends, as she's figured out, again, the true prophecy after (spoiler alert) she sees symbols on her brothers' graves, them being Rooster, Skull and Puma.
The ninth episode, The Sun and The Moon, however is the final one and is about the main group and their allies defeating Lord Mictlan. It's AMAZING, it's an episode that rivals with my favorite episode of Ren & Stimpy, "The Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen". Both episodes hold special places in my heart, albeit, the Yaksmen episode has a more special place but Mat3's ninth episode is close.
General rating
It's a really great show that would take you only around ~4:30-5 hours long with amazing visuals and lovable characters!
10/10 series!

Hi, I was wondering given your expressed dislike for how ASiR handled it, how are you going to treat Feathertail and Stormfur and their individual character arcs + strained relationship with RiverClan in the rewrite. We've already seen how Reedwhisker and Mistystar reacted to the trauma of what happened under TigerClan, and I wonder what your plans for them are. Will Feathertail and Sasha still have a relationship and how will that be handled? Also how much of the "Stormfur is thought to be the prophecised defeater of Sharptooth" thing you are going to keep with regards to their Tribe arc, in case that is still preserved I came up with the idea in rewrites of switching their fur colors a bit, so Stormfur is a silver tabby and Feathertail is blue/gray smoke (long-furred), i.e she looks just gray on the surface but has a silver undercoat that's only obvious when she's running or something. This making it make more sense that everyone thinks Stormfur is the one even though Feathertail technically also fits the prophecy. And with Crowpaw and Feathertail's relationship, you've said before that you might age up Crowpaw to make this work, but I'm not sure if it's necessary for a romance at all between the two for the plot or at least more than a one-sided one on Crowpaw's part, wouldn't it just be enough that they bond and Feathertail takes time to really understand Crowpaw when the others don't?
I do very much dislike A Shadow In RiverClan!! I'm going to answer how I'm going to handle it in its own post, because I have a ton of ideas and it's looking like it's going to be one of my bigger reduxes.
When that comes, its new name is going to be The Tiger In RiverClan. In short; its POV will be changed, and it's about all of the half-Clan cats struggling with TigerClan supporters.
The Tribe and the Silver Warrior
I'm gonna wrench out that prophecy entirely, it doesn't sit right with me at all! I don't like how in our very first meeting with the Tribe, they're detaining the sundrown patrol because they expect them to fix their problems. It's a bad introduction. I want that first meeting to be something joyful, interrupted by Sharptooth.
So instead, when the Sundrown Patrol is passing over the mountains, they run into Tribecats and are immediately given help in their crossing. Through conversation, it's quickly discovered that the Sundrown Patrol is descended from the Sun Trail Cats, who the Tribe recognize as long-lost cousins and insist they come and visit the Cave Ward.
This part's a bit fuzzy, I want to go and revisit TNP for inspiration, but somehow around here the Sundrown Patrol violently learns about Sharptooth. Stoneteller explains they've killed him before, and they will kill him again. But the damage is devastating, some of the friendly cats who had saved their lives were suddenly slaughtered by the beast.
The Patrol debates what to do. Tawnypelt, the leader, has to make a decision; Will they stay and help their 'cousins,' or will they return to their mission?
This time, they aren't being coerced or begged in any way. It's completely up to the Sundrown Patrol to make this choice, and it's established that the Tribe CAN deal with Sharptooth on their own... but could use the help!
And help is exactly what they give, Feathertail sacrificing her life to end the carnage.
Feathertail and Crowfoot
A no romance bond could work perfectly well, but something I enjoy about Crowfeather is how this experience colors the 'way' he loves others. I think, even if Feathertail lived, it wouldn't have worked out and Crowfoot would have had to have a reckoning with the fact he can't just stuff people into the hole in his heart.
It would have worked out better for him, though, because Bonefall Feathertail's very wise and, through breaking his heart, would give him some excellent advice on how to properly mend it, if that makes sense. But that isn't what happens. She dies horribly, and Crowfeather spends the rest of his life chasing the "Perfect Love" he thinks he could have had.
(it's honestly too bad that Bonefall Feathertail dies here, she's a total delight and I like writing for her lmao. Ridiculously relaxed pun-lover who knocks you off your feet with sudden, cutting insight.)
As for if she likes him back, I think she kinda does, but not as much as he likes her. Notably, Crowfoot's not going to be as bad as he is in canon, because Canon TNP Crowpaw is just utterly insufferable imo. His mother Ashfoot raises him with stories of the Forget-Me-Nots (her old friend group, including young Bluestar, for newcomers) which makes him several orders of magnitude more agreeable.
I think, of all the Sundrown Patrol, Crow was the one who needed the most shakeup. It's generally agreed that it was a total missed opportunity for these cats to have a sort of 'found family' dynamic, and I think the biggest obstacle to that is Crow. Every word out of his mouth is some flavor of, "I resent being here and I'm committed to hating you people."
It makes a lot of otherwise fun scenes end disastrously.
So instead, I'm approaching him as kind of grumpy and dramatic, but dedicated. Feathertail's the first to understand him, but the whole crew gets him by the time they get back to the Forest.
And, lastly, he's going to be aged up, and not just for the romance. I get the vibe that Deadfoot picked his son from heaven just for the sake of nepotism, and I'd like to fix that at least a little bit. No apprentices are chosen by StarClan to go on the incredibly important religious quest. And, lastly, it fixes a minor time discrepancy where Deadfoot would have been dead before his last litter was conceived.
His name was Crowfoot on the journey, and he receives an honor title from Tallstar as a request to honor Feathertail.

Chara! i know it may sound rude but is not meant to be could you please rate 1 to 10 your relationship with everyone? 1 being we need to work out some big issues/problems and 10 is we have the most awesome Friends/Family relationship!
Chara: um well... I don't know If I could just rate my relationship with everyone. But I can describe what I feel and how I think about them.
Dad- big warm soft hug factory. Always there for me. Listens and takes my opinions seriously. Not the best chef, but probably the best gardener ever. Protective and sturdy. Home is where the Asgore is. Sometimes very sad, but always tries to keep smiling and find something nice about the day.
Toriel- complex woman with a lot of responsibilities. Stuck halfway in between being a good mom and a good queen. Super kind and loving but with quite a lot of weight in her chest. Baking extraordinaire. Can make even snails appealing. Also quite good at textiles- taught me everything I know. Bit of a grammar police but in a gentle corrective way.
Asriel- more than a friend. My partner. Soft and cute. Kind and thoughtful. I can't imagine not being by his side. We are thick as thieves. Great at video games and has a superb imagination. Also not half bad at video editing. Sometimes a bit of a scardy cat and a pushover, but incredibly brave and cool when it really counts.
Sans- full of energy and puns. Loves his brother to pieces and will do anything for him. Parkour expert. Ninja skills. 9th level black belt in pranks. Secret love of junkfood. And socks. And toriel. A man of many secrets in general. But very fun loving, cool and caring.
Papyrus- well crafted puns finely aged in an Oaken cask. Equal parts silly and serious. Very cool without even trying. If he ever tried- watch out world! Loves his brother more than anything in the world. Depression disguised as laziness- but he's getting better. Mild sugar addiction. Astonishing capacity for forgiveness and giving second chances.
Alphys- anime antagonist turned ally. Gives amazing long-winded speeches. She deserves an Oscar. Highly opinionated and passionate. Hard outer shell like a hermit crab. Surprisingly soft insides. Fond of cute things. Highly skilled and trained warrior. Hero of her own story. A blast to hang out with except- ironically- when watching anime due to her opinions often Clashing with mine. We're like epic rivals.
Undyne- an excellent mad scientist. Brilliant and creative inventor. Very enthusiastic about her work and her girlfriend. Prefers to show rather than tell. Surprisingly Pyro for a fish lady. Almost always exciting. But also has a soft and sad side that she likes to sweep under the rug. She has a good heart though and is loyal to a fault.
Tem- the unreformed Stitch in my life. Little gremlin. Mild chaos. They're a lot of fun at the best of times. At the worst of times... well at least they aren't bent on causing permanent damage anymore. Cranky chihuahua. Grumpy cat. Lonely haunted doll. They say they don't feel anything and literally do not have those emotions, but I don't know. They must be really good at acting because they feel genuine enough sometimes. Even if they don't have a SOUL, they must have some kind of echo of one or else why can they get so mad when I destroy them in smashbros? Out of everyone they seem to tolerate me the most. I think it's because I remind them of their best friend....even though we are nothing alike.
Napstaton- an amazing dj and super cool and chill. Surprisingly shy for a world famous celebrity. Seems like they like to party but in reality big crowds drain their batteries really fast. Greatly prefers to just vibe.
Hapstablook- pretty much the opposite of his cousin but not in a bad way. The undead of the party. A trendsetter and fashionista. Loud and highly opinionated- somehow more than Alphys. Sometimes pushy. Completely glamorous. Kept trying to dress me up until I put my foot down. But He's cool and respects my fashion choices, even if he doesn't always agree.
Dr Hermann- mysterious scientist from the space between spaces, but apparently not originally from there. Apparently Sans and Papyrus' mom. Didn't get to raise her boys as much as she would have liked. Seems loving and caring and glad to be back. Also somehow a Latina even though many generations of monsters were under Canada.... though I suppose it's not that strange. It explains why both Sans and Papyrus occasionally break out in to Spanish.

🌈 ⭐️ 💻 🥇 🏆
accepting!
🌈 ― aesthetically pleasing blog @warsavant has AMAZING graphics on all of their blogs. i'm hella floored with every new one they churn out. the themes and ideas she uses to create her graphics are so creative. and the colouring is so perfect for the muse featured. i have a hard time making graphics for a multi so i was really impressed by kitty's graphic on @ofpolitics. they are gorgeous and they suit all the muses so well. but i want to make it clear that kitty's blogs are more than just beautiful graphics. she puts heart and soul into her muses and it shows.
⭐️ ― convincing portrayal of a canon character you @debelltio! i'm so damn impressed by all the detail you put into writing krennic. you really nail his brilliance, insecurities and his need to become something greater. you write him in his true terrifying glory and don't reduce him to a cartoon villain like i see in fanon. but it's more than that. you remind us that krennic is a human being underneath it all. he has fears, hopes and dreams. he is greedy and self serving but also very alone. your portrayal makes us sympathize with him but still hate him for the villain he is. it's simply *chefs kiss* nobody is doing it like you do!
💻 ― excellent writing @vaderari damn the way cole writes vader sends chills down my spine. i love the way they write his actions and use the setting to show how terrifying and powerful vader really is. they remind the reader how helpless and outmatched they are to this hulking creature of a man. it's really cool to see the expression of humanity and monstrosity in vader's character. that reminds you why he was the chosen one and why the jedi were terrified of his potential. kudos to you cole for writing a beast so eloquently, cus damn it can't be easy.
🥇 ― well-developed oc @renkniighted row is such a cool oc. i really love how mysterious he seems to an outsider. he's this shadowy loner who doesn't take anything seriously. but when you see him from the prospective of the knights and people close to him you see he is actually a very complicated person who cares a lot more than he lets on. he's pure embodiment of what i imagine a knight of ren to be. every time i get to learn more about him is a good day.
@thirdsght meer i remember when you first made rivk and damn has he grown as a muse. i love how he's this cold, apathetic warrior on the outside but he cares a lot about the knights and makes sacrifices for them like they are his family. the duality of his chiss behaviours and the behaviours he picked up from growing up at the jedi temple and with the knights is a really cool part of his character. that makes him interesting and complex because you don't really know which side of his brain will come out on top.
🏆 ― 10/10 blog, would recommend @alootus / @dulathian aila is perfection!! such a bundle of joy on the dash and a great writer! the way you write padme is *chef kiss*. you remind us all why so many people looked up to her and believed in her during tough times. aila has a beautiful way of giving her muses human qualities that remind us that they are people underneath everything. 10/10 plots and headcanons. she thinks outside of the box and show us parts of her muses that canon glosses over. her writing is so beautiful and the flower symbolism is stunning! you're an asses to the rpc aila! we're lucky to have you.

HEY SO... about ur next fancures... do you have some... VISUALS in mind? Some visual details... for hair styles... outfits... etc.. how they would look...
Hello! While I'm finalizing their mg outfits (I'm definitely looking at different styles of Lolita fashion for inspo), I do have a few picrew images of my gals, plus some extra notes and trivia for each one!
Shika Morikawa / Cure Petal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her birthday is September 5th, making her a Virgo!
Unlike Hiroko, she has a girlfriend from the jump - Hotaru Honoo, the vice president of the student council, who's basically the devoted wife to Shika's workaholic husband.
She just has intense girlhusband energy, I don't know how else to explain it. World's most married student council president.
Her given name means "deer", and her mascot partner is a deer fairy. I love on the nose naming so much.
Her mother works at the local natural history museum, and Shika has something of an interest in it herself.
Shika is a member of the tennis team and is quite skilled at the sport, on top of being athletic in general. She also has a lot of stamina when running.
She's the defensive warrior of the team as Cure Petal - she starts out knowing how to create shields in Cure form and then later gains healing and energy reflection as powers.
Ai Yukimura / Cure Glacier
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her birthday is June 28th, making her a Cancer!
She's the oldest of five kids - her younger siblings are named Tatsuya, Ayame, Yuto, and Yoko.
She also has a dog - a long-haired chihuahua named Maron!
Every Cait story has that one handsome lesbian with a bunch of fangirls. That's Ai. Half the female student body seems to have a crush on her, and she will flirt right back with them.
Ai is usually a very chill person (heh) but she can get overly worked up when someone brings out her competitive side, to the point of developing severe tunnel vision.
She's basically the mom of the team, with the best domestic skills and a great way with kids. She also gives excellent hugs.
As Cure Glacier, she's the team's powerhouse, being the tallest and physically strongest of the group. Naturally, she brings some of her experience as an ice hockey player to battle.
Teruko Hidaka / Cure Helios
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her birthday is December 22nd, making her a Sagittarius!
She's the youngest of three children and only recently started working regularly at her family's ryokan
Teruko is actually girlier than people assume and mainly holds back on presenting more femininely due to self-confidence issues. She actually gets along really well with her fashionista fairy partner.
She is bi and secretly carrying a torch for her childhood friend, Genta. She's also very close with his little sister, Eiko.
She is known as "Teruru" to her closest friends, and her teammates go on to pick the nickname up as well.
She is a member of the softball team! Every Cure in this squad is an athlete, basically.
As Cure Helios, she serves as a secondary powerhouse within the team, being light on her feet and hitting hard with her fire-based powers.
Ayaka Oozora / Cure Zephyr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her birthday is September 27th, making her a Libra!
She wants to be an environmental lawyer like her father when she grows up and is already doing her best to be both knowledgeable about and involved on that front, as much as a high school girl can. This girl absolutely knows about Tree Law.
Ayaka has almost as many fangirls within the student body as Ai does and is considered the princess to her prince. She doesn't seem particularly interested in romance herself, however.
Definitely the most fashionable of the group and will leap at the chance to help someone find a look that works for them.
While Ayaka does not consider herself a theater kid, she is genuinely good at acting and has taken advantage of this.
She is a member of the cheerleading team and is a highly skilled baton twirler. Since everyone has magic batons as a sidearm in this series, you'd better believe she brings that skill there.
She is the speedy, long-ranged fighter of the team as Cure Zephyr. While everyone on the team can fly thanks to fairy magic, she is also the most adept in the air.
Also, have a height chart while we're here!

[Stuck this in my queue a few months ago, shortly after I made this blog. I keep putting off posting this because it's just a bunch of random enthusiastic screaming, but whatever, if I haven't stuck it in drafts, it might as well live on my blog instead.]
Rebirth lives rent-free in my head. I just need. Like. ONE friend who has read it who I can enthuse with about it IRL. The Tome of Fire was a bit of a slog at first, but I swear that the series which Rebirth was meant to start had legs. LEGS!!
Tried to keep these notes spoiler-medium in case anyone wants to read the book, but be warned. There are spoilers below.
Black Legion VS Salamanders and Sisters of Battle, except that both sides also have their fair share of drama and betrayal? Also, there's a manhunt through a decrepid underhive for a fugitive? Come on, that's some good shit.
Tsu'gan's presence in the plot is at a distance and Da'kir's seems to be over. Zartath and Agatone are the characters who benefit the most from context from previous books, but I think most of their backstory is made pretty clear.
I liked how Val'in built respect with Sister Seraphina without any romantic tension. The Sisters somehow manage to come off as even more nonsexual yet homoromantic than Astartes, and I am here for that.
I also appreciate how the Sisters' extreme zealotry makes them come off as more inhuman than the Salamanders, even as they condemn the Salamanders for being... Uh, bad at seeming like good Imperial zealots. Are some of the Sisters written as too unreasonable? No, I think how unreasonable they seem is a reflection of Canonness Angerer's issues rather than the Sisters as a whole. Plus, Seraphina is not like that! I wish she had been more present in the finale, but oh well.
There are some great human characters in this book. Makato and Issak are so cool. They are excellent examples of how versatile standard humans are and how they can stand out in a story that focuses on Astartes.
Chaplain Elysius is always great, but I really love him in this one. He probably has the best lines in the book. I appreciate his sense of duty, his pragmatism and the fortitude his faith gives him. I also found it interesting how he seems to respect Drakgaard more the more he sees his flaws.
Comparing Elysius and Drakgaard, and Agatone and Drakgaard is interesting. Drakgaard tends to comes off worse in both cases, but his massive flaws make him interesting to me. The parallels between Drakgaard and Angerer are interesting too. I enjoy the idea of these two old warriors being so blinded by their desire to make up for the failings of their pasts that they completely and unequivocally fuck up.
Continuing on Drakgaard, I love how he's described by many as being stubborn, unfeeling and uncultured, but then he's constantly swayed by emotion and makes it very clear that he's not actually averse to artistic pursuits, he just doesn't prioritise them. Part of why those around him see him in such a harsh light is that he can't move his face much and doesn't move with elegance. (For example, his sword is described as a beautiful piece of artistry... Which he swings around like a goddamn cricket bat.) Idk, he seems like a guy with secret depths.
Agatone really grew on me in this one. He's so good to his guys. I think that he gets to shine because the focus of his sections is on a very small group? Anyway, if anyone questions why this guy has a dedicated mini, they should read Rebirth.
I love that guy Agatone picks up. Issak is a 10/10 bro, top tier little guy, and I'm sad we may never get to know the rest of his story.
I don't usually care for techmarines, but Exor is a poor little meow meow whom I want good things for. HE'S JUST DOING HIS BEST, HE'S BRAND NEW, PLEASE BE NICE TO EXOR PLEASE -
He's a mess, but I can't fault Zartath for struggling. Dude needs a therapist, and he tries so hard to make up for his fuckups. Because he started as a Black Dragon, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place - expected to both conform to the new Chapter whom he looks nothing like and to lean into his beastly nature to perform the way his Chapter requires him to. It's a hard line to walk, and I like how that went for him in the end. Also, despite his massive PTSD and mutations, he has genuine respect for Agatone and the Salamanders, and it's great to see that respect rewarded.
I liked his relationship with Exor. Two semi-outsiders in a hard but privileged position alongside their Captain, so different yet so similar... I enjoyed how their respect for each other fluctuated from grudging, to complete distrust, to something two steps from friendship. And it all felt deserved.
I do have some issues with the book, of course.
Some say it feels a bit unfocused. I think that might be because some of the different threads tie up very quickly, to the point where a reader could actually miss how a particular story line tied in with the others. I wish it was about 30 pages longer so the endings could have had a little more space to breathe.
My main issue is that it doesn't seem like this book will ever get a sequel, so we'll never know what happened to some of the characters. This particularly bothers me with Exor, Zartath, Issak and Drakgaard. I have so many questions about them.
For example, Drakgaard is not Captain of the 6th in the current era... What happened? Did he die? Did he take the Burning Walk after losing his men's respect at Heletine? Was he so hurt that he was interred into a Dreadnought, perhaps to replace one lost on Heletine? (That would be so tragic... The other Salamanders would assume being interred would suit him, but it might turn out to be his worst nightmare.) I may never know, and it breaks my heart because I think it would have been interesting.
Will Exor and Zartath actually become friends? Probably not, but my god, I want that for them. I have this picture in my mind where Zartath ends up leaving to refound the Black Dragons and Exor goes too, becoming the one Salamander in the Black Dragons like how Zartath was the one Black Dragon in the Salamanders... Kinda falls down as I think he's not a Magos Biologis, but shhh.
Agatone took Issak back with him. What's going to happen to Issak now he's with the Salamanders? It seemed like he was set up to be present in subsequent books... And he was so likeable.
The weird, not specifically related to Rebirth:
What went down with the real Pyriel and Argos who inspired the characters? Seems there was some major beef between them. It all went down on various forums, possibly had something to do with Pyriel having a 3d printing business? Idk, I did a bit of googling about it a while ago but I can't remember what I found right now. The actual drama isn't very important to me, I just find it interesting that those characters are based on real people who seriously did not get along.

The Necromancer and the Martyr: The Walk
(Part 5 of The Necromancer and the Martyr)
Sunlight filtered through the canopy as Thorn stirred from her slumber. In a harmony and routine that spoke of their long relationship, Thorn and Rose packed up their rudimentary camp, ensuring that no trace of their presence was left. Thorn put her armour back on somewhat reluctantly, having no pack to store it in. Wordlessly, they began to walk in the opposite direction of the mine.
It seemed to be summer, the trees leaves were vibrant green, and the air was warm and the breeze was gentle. Rose glanced over at Thorn, who appeared to be in deep contemplation.
"Something on your mind?" He asked.
"Yeah. I never asked you what happened to you. Do you want to talk about it?" Thorn replied, moving somewhat closer to Rose.
"What do you mean?" No sooner had Rose asked the question, did he realise the answer.
"My death? I don't really remember it. Dying or being dead that is. I must have passed shortly after you did though. I remember your funeral, the peace talks, and then nothing." Rose lied, hoping that Thorn did not pick up on his falsehoods.
If she had noticed his gritted teeth, or the tension with which Rose spoke, then Thorn did not act upon it. In fact, she did not react to his answer at all, instead drifting further away from Rose again, and increasing the pace at which she walked.
'She knows'. Rose realised with dread. 'She knows I'm lying. She always knows'
"If you know something Rose, you can tell me. I know I haven't always taken things well in the past, but I promise I will work hard to be more compassionate and forgiving. Please tell me what's really going on." Thorn's voice was calm and gentle as she spoke, though her march never faltered.
Rose frantically searched for an excuse. "I just, don't feel ready to talk about it, y'know?". He looked towards Thorn to see if she bought it.
"That's fair. But please, you can talk to me when you feel ready. Ok?" Thorn seemed happy with Rose's excuse.
For several hours, they continued to walk in silence. Dread gnawed at Rose's stomach, whilst Thorn seemed perfectly contented, listening to the wind and the birds. Eventually, they arrived at a stone path.
"Oh excellent. We must be close to a village." Rose mused aloud to himself.
"Agreed." Replied Thorn. "Though it's odd that the path doesn't lead all the way to the mine. Why does it stop, or start I suppose, here?" She stopped in her tracks to examine the edges of the path.
Rose knew of course. He'd had the rest of the path buried, to ensure that no one tried to interrupt his rituals. But he was not sure that Thorn would like that answer.
"Who knows. Oh well, best be moving on." Rose took off down the path, walking so fast he was almost running. He looked over his shoulder to see if Thorn was following.
She was not. She remained transfixed by the path, as though staring at it would give her the answers she sought.
"Rose!" She yelled. "Is it true that magic could make the grass grow over a path like this, and bury it so completely you would never know that it was there?"
Rose stopped. Thorn's intellect had always taken people by surprise. They had always expected the great warrior to be nothing more than a fighter, a tool to be pointed at the enemy and set loose. For once, Rose wished that they were right.
"Yeah I suppose..." He answered tentatively.
"Well then, could it be that the path does go all the way to the mine, but whoever it was that brought us back to life buried it for some nefarious purpose?" Thorn walked on to catch up with Rose. "If someone is powerful enough to bring people back to life, then would this not be easy?"
"Maybe... I don't know. If we ever find out who did it, we can ask them. Lets just go to the village and see what's what." Rose desperately hoped to end the conversation. His flesh squirmed and writhed all down his back, and he could feel his shoulder blades moving into their new position. It took all of his concentration to remain calm, and not to revert back to his true form.
Thorn took Rose's hand and led him onward. "I suppose you're right" she acknowledged. "Now lets see what's changed since we've been away."
Rose allowed himself to be led, fear growing with every step. He knew he needed to tell Thorn the truth, show her the truth, but how he would do that he did not know. It could wait though, he'd tell her after they'd visited the village.

I'm so sorry for spamming you with these dumb battle cats. I promise, I'll get back to your regularly sceduled Duncney soon. This sorta crayon style just doesn't work with my human art (in my opinion) so stupid kitties it is!
Anyways, here's a Juniperclaw
(Click read more for a ridiculously long WC rant)
The writing did my man dirty. You're telling me Assfur got into StarClan but this boy had good intentions, died saving Shadowkit to redeem himself for his actions, and then fought alongside cats from all other clans (including Rootspring of SkyClan which is an excellent character moment considering it's what he did to SkyClan that got him sent to Hell in the first place) against Ashfur as a ghost, risking his life for them, and he's sentenced to stay in the Dark Forest anyways. This cat who is clearly better than characters like Clear Sky and Ashfur (not slander btw love both of them, just talking about morals) has to stay in a place where there is no light, no company, no way out, and he's constantly starving. He is slowly fading from existence while he fades from other cat's minds. He is surrounded by magic black water that eradicates his soul from existence and cats who murdered and likely have issues with him considering he fought against Ashfur. There is nothing for him to live for, however awful that sounds. The Dark forest literally runs on negative emotions. It is designed as a torture mechanism in the sense that he just can't be happy there. And don't give me that bullshit that he guards the portal between StarClan and the Dark Forest. He sits in front of a portal all day where he is still on the Dark Forest's side. This isn't a reward. This is StarClan spitting in his face by essentially telling him "We trust you enough to let you guard this portal, thereby entrusting you with the fate of StarClan as a whole, but we do not trust you enough to let you out of Hell." I'm dying. I'm so angry at this decision. I don't understand how the authors could write him to be an objective;y good guy and still doom him to the worst fate in the Warrior Cats universe. Juniperclaw made mistakes, sure. I'm not arguing that he was right to poison SkyClan prey, but Clear Sky has a body count ranging in the double digits. Ashfur tried to kill his exes dad and her three children because he was bitter over a breakup. Mudclaw turned against his clan and tried to kill them because he didn't get a promotion. Rainflower abused and neglected her child after he was seriously injured, forcing him to take an ableist name for his injury. Appledusk cheated on his wife. There are a whole list of cats who have been confirmed to be in paradise while Juniperclaw, who has never killed a cat, is in Hell with no chance of ever getting out. It's so morally disgusting and I honestly don't understand how anybody could think this was okay. They set him up on a redemption arc. He has redeemed himself twice. StarClan has acknowledged him as a good cat, and yet he's still cast out. StarClan admits to having made a mistake with Ashfur, and yet they refuse to accept Juniperclaw.
There are other characters wronged by this, by the way. I draw Juniperclaw so he's who I talked about, but other notable examples include:
-Frecklewish (went to DF for not saving kits from a raging river that even experienced swimmers weren't capable of saving them from. She saw a rescue party show up and left due to the fact that her presence would only serve to distract RiverClan from saving the kits.)
-Brightflower (Went to the DF for accusing Yellowfang of killing her kits. Yes, she was wrong and mean, but we're eternally punishing cats for accusing people of things now???)
-Lilywhisker (Went to DF for injuring her leg and being upset about it. No, I am not making this shit up.)
-Antpelt (Was manipulated by DF cats into training there and later killed in said training. Previous examples showed other trainees being brutally killed for trying to leave, and yet he was expected to?)
-Deerfoot (I don't even know what he did. He was outspoken, but right about most things. I'm just confused about this one. Sorry, buddy.)
-Blizzardwing (Cheated on his wife. Don't have an issue with him being sent to Hell for this, but if he is then Appledusk should be, too.)
-Tangleburr (Was manipulated by her brother and supported him as leader when 50% of the clan did the same)
-Redwillow (Same situation as Antpelt. Was manipulated by the DF and never given a real chance at redemption.)
-Snowtuft (It's never confirmed what he's done, because he's been there so long that he's forgotten. He's shown to be a kind and good natured cat. It's so fucked up to have his memories slowly fade to the point where he has no clue why he's even there. If he did something horrible, surely a punishment makes more sense if he actually knows what he did.)
-Sparrowfeather (Fought against Ashfur and redeemed herself after her death.)
-Maggottail (Despite that horrible name, he fought against Ashfur and redeemed himself after death.)
-Silverhawk (Same as Sparrowfeather and Maggottail)
Sorry for this ridiculously long rant. I love these silly cat books, but they're awful :)

anger, shaved ice, sun, seedling, milky way, baby bottle, red heart for darling Jia!
I'm sorry for only giving the names, I am literally so bad at searching for emojis :))))
Thank you so much for asking, dearest! 🥰 (If someone's interested in the ask game is this one!)
💢 ANGER - what are some habits they have that will take some getting used to?
I think the thing Jia does, and it may get annoying for others, is some obsessive-compulsive rituals that she has, concerning her personal belongings (poor Lydia and Gregor, who live with her in Heljarchen Hall, are doomed to get along with those). For example, she needs her books positioned on her bookshelves strictly by height; she needs her ingredients placed in specific jars and satchels depending on their properties, not to mention her enchanting tower in which she keeps her soul gems on her shelves in a distinct ranking from left to right (from petty to grand soul gems). She is rather hot-tempered and impatient in general, but when someone messes with how she sets her things down and her OCD, she gets genuinely anxious and nervous about it.
🍧 SHAVED ICE - do they still have any objects from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it?
Jia's most prized possession from her childhood is a woolen blanket that has a growing crescent as a golden and silver-stitched embroidery. This blanket was sewn by Jia's mother when she was pregnant with Jia, and its needlework is not at all random. The crescent is Miraak's and Jia's symbol, in which the sun is Jia while the moon is Miraak, and joined together, the growing crescent embodies the First and Last's union on Nirn. She carries this blanket all her life, and she doesn't give it to anyone as it's the only thing she has from her mother, so I can't even imagine how it would be if she'd lose it...
🌱 SEEDLING - what is their most vivid memory from childhood?
I think the most vivid memory from her childhood is her training lessons with the twins and Aela, and later their hunting together (I will describe both of them in detail in the fic). Little Jia was not into the Nordic way of fighting; she preferred studying, cooking, and plucking alchemy ingredients, mixing them all in her cauldron, and practicing alchemy (I would even say that she inherited more of her father's interests than her mother's). So, Vilkas, Farkas, and Aela, as passionate Nordic warriors, practically forced her to train with them - and despite this being a complete nuisance for Jia, she ended up loving their sparring classes - Aela trained her with the bow and shield and was a very stern teacher with Jia's errors, while Vilkas and especially Farkas were way softer with her, and they trained her with the sword!  🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?
Oooh, good question, let me think... Well, Jia was born in my mind at the end of the previous February when I began playing Skyrim again, making a new LDB. And as I thoroughly customized my new character, I somehow made her look both like Nord and Imperial, so I went along with her mixed-blooded origins and started to slowly build her background. The name 'Jia' was inspired by a character in the series 'Euphoria' I used to watch back then, which had the name 'Gia', and it's actually quite close to my own name, hehe. The first first first things I decided about Jia were that she will be Miraak's soulmate and that she will have golden eyes.
🍼 BABY BOTTLE - what are their thoughts on children?
AH, EXCELLENT QUESTION! Jia loves children!!! She adores them with all her heart - their innocence, their jolliness, their inquisitiveness, everything about children makes her beam whole. She would definitely adopt if she was not a Dragonborn, but she has this constant fear that her perilous lifestyle full of enemies and dangers, will put her life or the child's at risk, and she doesn't want to do more harm than good to their soul. She does want to build her own family, and she does want to be a mother though... We shall see if she manages to achieve it someday! 🥰
❤️ RED HEART - their love language(s)?
Unfortunately, Jia isn't very good at expressing her feelings with words (you could say that she suffers from alexithymia), so her love language is mostly practical, offering small or bigger gifts to her close ones. BUT, in some circumstances, when the emotion overwhelms her, and she feels intimate enough, her love is shown through hugs (she is a huge hugger with the ones she holds dear, despite being quite wary of physical contact), and caresses, and she can be truly tender and loving to the person she gives affection to, whether this is Miraak or a friend or a family member!
