So I saw a screenshot of Ralph without his hat (for his wedding outfit + I think a DLC outfit didn't have it?) and honestly. There's a reason he wears it. It's unfair if he doesn't. Olive Town really is just "hot bisexuals in your area" and they would thrive if they advertised it as such.
#sos pioneers of olive town#ralph#jack#i will never not love jack ok i have been playing again and i cant help it#once i unlock giant bear carvings to craft i make him the happiest man on the planet#its just something i have to do ok i love jack a lot#i do still really enjoy bringing ralph soup to the woods like a loser and handing it over while he eats lunch#but the point im trying to make is i cant stop loving jack and it really hinders my desire to romance others lmao#also i was googling some refs of ralph after i found the wedding ss because it was a lil cut off and i wanted the full look#and i saw a lot of questions like is poot worth it or comments about how its incredibly avg for a game#or how its not as great as past installments and im like ........... but the cast is so endearing to me#again its different strokes for different folks and not everyone will love the same farming sim as i will but still#dont be mean to my olive town babies......#the fact there are so many cutscenes in there of families interacting and moms being mom friends and gossip buddies#the fact there are so many cutscenes just about how these people live their lives is so wholesome to me#like sure the farmer is featured in the heart events#but there are so many where you arent the center ! youre just a bystander to like#a bro putting his younger bros motorcycle in the museum and the museum owner being mad theres a motorcycle in the museum#while then having multiple other people show up like YO SICK BIKE YOU GUYS HAVE THIS STUFF IN THE MUSEUM#while the younger bro is beaming cause thats his baby he loves his motorcycle and you better love it too#like its just so fascinating to exist in the town but not be the entire reason everyone keeps on going about their lives#yeah you interact and befriend them and you do tasks to help develop the island but it doesnt feel like thats why people like you#which is really important to me bc i feel like i have to do things to make people like me#i have to have a reason to interact with people irl or its just me being in their way#and poot lets me just live alongside people peacefully and talk to lil harvest sprites that hand me food and rocks and logs#anyway that is SO MUCH propaganda for a story of seasons game that no one asked for thanks gnight

Sicheng glanced up at you, his ruler, and his heart softened. You were strong, courageous, but most of all, you were whole. You had been split apart time and time again and you still stood there, fully whole and scarred from the fractures. You smiled your glorious smile, the one that made kingdoms crumble and cities tremble, that led countries to their downfall.
In his heart, he didn’t think he had ever held so much love for anyone—not for his sister, whose hearing they were currently attending, not for the parents that had laboured to give him such a good life.
No, the only person he held in his heart was you, the hurricane that had dredged him out of the outer circle, that had molded this farmer’s son into the highest of the royal guard.
If your intoxicating aura could have been hidden away like a secret, in a cave full of treasures and wonder, they would have done you in. Yet, your spirit roamed free, never crushed underfoot by conquerors. The people's attitude had no effect on you, only providing a source of amusement which you enjoyed greatly.
Sometimes, when your eyes twinkled like that, mischief and resignation muddled in a cloudy mess of emotions, Sicheng was afraid. Not afraid of you—never afraid of you—but afraid for whoever had incited that mischief, for he knew it would never end well.
He knew that two months earlier, when he had attempted to break Sixue out of prison, that he had intentionally been left as the only guard on duty. You trusted him, and your brother hadn’t interfered, because he’d wanted to test Sicheng.
He hadn’t passed that test, evidenced by how they were gathered in that courtroom again, awaiting judgement.
Earlier, when Sixue had been led into the courtroom, her eyes haunted and dull, lips cracked and dry, Sicheng had felt a flash of a headache. It happened when you exerted a great amount of power over him, typically when he was being stubborn, but it was gone in an instant.
Because even without you controlling him, he could feel your stare against his back, and that alone was commanding enough for him to listen.
Sicheng hadn’t intended to go towards Sixue, even if her gaunt body and the blood that had dried crimson on her skin worried him. Because you had told him not to, and he trusted you with his life. By extension, he trusted you with Sixue’s as well.
One glance at you now, back rigid and gaze emotionless, would send shivers down anyone's spine. With your narrowed eyes, taut lips set into a line, it was easy to overlook the spots of pink dusting your cheeks, a telltale sign of your investment in this trial.
It hadn’t been hard for you to offhandedly make a decision to give Sixue a trial instead of immediately sending her for execution—and though Sicheng had bristled at how much power you held, he found comfort in the fact that you would never wield that power carelessly.
He wasn’t sure how you were intending to turn this trial in your favour when you weren’t allowed to speak, and as he watched Sixue, worry tugged at his heart. Upon questioning, Sixue’s words were hollow, hair hanging like a sheet in a drawn-back ponytail. Her fingers kept twitching, and Sicheng noticed her fingernails were grimy with dirt.
Sixue denied all of the accusations, which was a complete change from her attitude the last time she’d been brought before you. What Sicheng didn’t know was that you had instructed her to deny all accusations, and you would take care of the rest.
With little to no evidence to prove her guilt, and your silence encouraging the judge to let her go, Sixue was released.
Once the trial had ended, she was brought out of the courtroom, albeit no longer in chains.
Sicheng turned towards you, pleading gaze begging for your permission to speak to her, and you blinked slowly, guiding his foot to take one step in Sixue’s direction.
He didn’t need to be told twice, sprinting out of the courtroom and darting down the steps to where Sixue was, ready to wrench her out of the guards’ grasps, but then he caught himself, stopped, and inhaled.
“I’ll take it over from here.” He issued it like an order, the same way he imagined you would have, and the guards looked at each other before shrugging and handing her over.
As soon as they were out of earshot, backs turned towards the brother and sister, Sicheng wrapped Sixue in a hug so tight she had to pry herself out of it, gesturing to her blood-stained clothes and the bruises on her limbs.
“Agū.” She said one word, but the weight of it was unbearable for Sicheng. That one word was filled with years of memories, Sixue always turning to her older brother in times of trouble; when she scraped her knee or sprained her ankle, when she got tanned after spending too long in the sun and she cried because she would never be fair again.
Now, she was indeed fair, pale, even—and still she called out for Sicheng. Agū. He was her safe haven, the only constant in her life, the one who would attempt to rescue her even with the threat of execution hanging above his head.
She crumpled in his arms like paper, fragile and easily torn, so light and frail she might have flown away if the wind blew too hard.
“Why… why would the Crown do that for me?” she whispered, referring to you the way all peasants did, as “the Crown”, or in their language, huáng guān.
“The Crown is a complex person,” he shrugs. “I’ve known them for so long, and yet I can never claim to know what exactly goes through their mind. I just know they’re not half as cruel as the rumours say.”
“They almost cut off my foot,” Sixue hissed, recoiling at the thought.
Sicheng rested one hand on her shoulder reassuringly. “The dagger would never have fallen on your foot. It was a mistake not to trust them then, because maybe if I’d left the dagger alone, they wouldn’t have sent you immediately for execution, and I wouldn’t have panicked and tried to break you—” He was cut off by Sixue clamping one hand over his mouth.
“Don’t voice it aloud. The walls have ears.”
Either way, as soon as Sicheng said it aloud, he knew that if he hadn’t changed the course of that dagger, you wouldn’t have had anything to bring your brother down with. In some ways, the world worked like that—if fate hadn’t brought him to you, he wouldn’t have had the money to keep his family alive.
Sixue would have spoken, but just then, you appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
“My brother’s trial is in a short while,” you informed Sicheng. “Be ready.”
Sicheng nodded, and turned to Sixue. “Take care of yourself.”
Sixue hugged her brother once more and was off.

“Father please, you can’t be serious…! You expect me to go there alone? But they’re pirates… What if I’m kidnapped or killed… or worse!” You protested with defiance in your voice after what he had just told you. “Are there really no other alternatives?”
He informed you that beginning that next morning, you were to take over in his place taking his deliveries to the Baratie, commandeering a small transport ship that had been your small family’s main source of income for as long as you could remember; selling produce to pirates and marines alike, but mostly to the Baratie restaurant since it offered the best compensation. At least that’s what your father always said when he’d set sail, reassuring you he would return home safely every time. He usually did, which never did manage to ease your distaste, not even when he’d come home with leftovers of the best things you had ever tasted in your life. It just unsettled you with all of the stories of the ruthless, pillaging, heartless pirates you had spent your whole life growing up hearing — you couldn’t understand how any amount of berries would be worth it, and now it was your turn.
“Oh calm down, y/n. You act like I’m sending you off to a slaughter house or something. It’s a restaurant for god's sake.” Your father said with an amused guffaw that sent him into a flurry of phlegmatic coughs, urging him to grab the handkerchief off of the side table so he could cover his mouth. After he regained his breath he looked up at you with an extremely worn and rugged expression that he tried his hardest to hide with the warmest smile he could manage given the pain. “Please don’t argue. I understand how you feel, but you’re the only one that can do it. When I’m gone you’ll have to handle all of the business, not just the Baratie deal. I just want to make sure you won’t struggle sweetheart.”
You were bubbling with frustration, especially when he told you to calm down, and more than ready to pop like an overheated kettle about to boil over but were immediately snapped out of your streak of rebellion at the sound of his health issues acting up again. It always sent a wave of worry through your heart whenever he got like this and your body propelled you to his side, helping him up from his padded rocking chair and towards his bedroom for the night. “Okay fine I won’t argue, just please take it easy father… I understand. I’ll do it alright, if that’s the price for your peace of mind. Now go lie down and I’ll fetch you some tea and your medication.”
The past few years had been a steady decline for him, but you grew up learning all of the basics to get by from how to farm and how to haggle with merchants, all the way to hosting your own little fresh produce stand planted right next to his when you were younger until you were old enough to handle the flood of clientele that visited his on your own and learning how to handle and save household and business funds. It was a lot to learn and came with many conflicts between you and your father when you brought to his attention that other young women were out searching for potential marriage candidates and having fun with their friends instead of having a business thrust upon them. Still, your love and respect for your father kept you close to home and working to take over since he didn’t have any sons to pass his business onto. Love and familial obligation were your ultimate burdens to carry just like raising and protecting you alone all of these years had been his to carry.
So with great reluctance, when it finally rolled over into the early hours of the next morning, there you were loading up the little transport ship and cross referencing the corresponding item checklist.
It somehow bothered you that it was playing out just like a usual run of the mill delivery. There were no stormy clouds or end of times type of catastrophes foreboding a dangerous trip or stopping you from setting off, instead you were faced with the usual misty early morning fog that hugged the water before dissipating when the sun made its arrival. However, you would already be well on your way to the Baratie before the sun peaked, needing to have the goods delivered so they could be received by the kitchen and prepped before the restaurant opened up for that evening's diners. You just hoped they didn’t decide to put you on the menu since this was your first time engaging with pirates. It was silly to think of sure and possibly a bit outlandish for cannibalism to be your first fear out of all of this, since even pirates were still just people, but surely some of the stories had to hold merit. Despite these lingering fears however, you had promised your father that you would handle it so he could rest and that was a promise you weren’t about to break.
The seas themselves were relatively calm too as if to add salt to the wound of your overactive imagination, and any other trade vessel would’ve been praising whatever gods there were for the easy travel, but you stood at the wheel of the ship with knots in your stomach. The waves lapped at the boat and urged you closer to the restaurant, the fish shape of the ship immediately catching your attention. If you hadn’t known any better you would have assumed it was a fisherman’s boat, but the closer you got the clearer the word ‘restaurant’ became and your nerves were now at an all time high. You navigated your vessel towards the floating docks attached to the larger ship, docked, and began to tie up the safety rope just like your father taught you. It was a pretty easy task but it was made longer due to your trembling fingers.
When you were finished you gave the rough rope a good tug to ensure it’s stability before making your way back onboard to grab a few of the crates to carry them towards what you assumed to be the back entrance. Part of you wondered how your father had even made the deliveries as long as he had all by himself as you carefully walked along the creaky wooden dock so you wouldn’t drop any of the produce. All was well with only a few close calls as you levied the weight of the boxes between the wall and your frame as you lifted your hand and timidly tapped your knuckles against the door. It only took a moment of waiting before it swung open, the lively sounds of an already busy kitchen falling upon your ears as a portly, normal enough looking man in a standard white chef's outfit came out to assess the disturbance with a raised brow until he saw the boxes.
“Oh that’s right, I forgot it would be a new person coming today. Thank you kindly. We were wondering if we’d be able to stay on schedule today or not, but you’re just on time.” The man said with apparent relief in his tone as he wasted no time in helping you, grabbing the boxes like nothing. “I’ll go ahead and take these in and send some men out to collect the rest. Just go ahead and go through the kitchen and wait inside at one of the tables, I’m sure Zeff will be right with you with your payment.”
There wasn’t really room to protest and you recognized that name at least from what your father told you so you nodded your head with a polite but somewhat stiff smile. “Of course! I’m glad I wasn’t late. Oh okay, sure, I’ll go in then…” You said as you steeled your nerves once again to enter the pirate restaurant. You expected to see chaotic disorder and a mess of drunken old men, but what you saw was instead a very clean and professional kitchen with everyone already attentively prepping meats and vegetables of all sorts and colors. Everything smelled so good, especially when she walked behind a man opening an oven containing a fresh beautiful fluffy cheesecake. It looked like a pretty cloud on its own and you could already imagine what it would taste like melting in your mouth with a sweet cream topping and strawberries, but this wasn’t the time to think about food. You had to get your fathers payment and go home, back to where you felt in your own element.
It was a little calmer when you pushed past the service doors into the main dining room of the Baratie. The main doors weren’t open yet so it was just you and the staff getting the room ready, which somehow made you feel both at ease and also on display as you ogled the decorative room around you. The outside had been impressive enough, but the inside was intricately designed with paintings of far away places and long gone people adorned with golden inlaid frames on beautiful crimson walls, tables topped with plates of the finest hand painted china, beautiful centerpieces to accompany the arrangements, and majestic pillars holding up a secondary dining area. It was a far cry from the uncultured barbarians you had heard of and left your head swimming as you made your way to a table out of the way of the hustle and bustle, shrinking down into the nearest chair as you tried to make yourself less of an eyesore and obstacle for the workers. If anything you felt underdressed now.
“…” A soft sigh left your lips as you kept your hands on your lap, fingers fiddling with the little charms on the bracelet clasped on your wrist to pass the time as you watched people walk in and out of the kitchen. You had begun to wonder if you had been forgotten about in the process after you had grown weary of gazing around the establishment, but just as you were about to get up from your seat and look for someone who looked to be in charge, someone approached your table and set down a steaming cup of what appeared to be a decorative coffee with adorable little whipped foam hearts. “Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t order this. I’m not here to eat, just to get paid—” Instead of another homely waitstaff, or perhaps even the elder peg legged whiskered chef Zeff you were told about, before you stood a gentleman who looked not much older than yourself who wore a dazzling smile that was only rivaled by the sparkling deep blue of his eyes as he looked down at you. Truthfully it made your heart skip to suddenly be under such an attentive gaze.
“I know madam, this is just because I saw you sitting here by yourself and couldn’t help but bring you a little something sweet since you’ve already sweetened my day.” The charming young blonde man said with a wink as he refused to pick up the pretty steaming cup of enticing coffee until you gave it a try. “Please go ahead and drink it, it’s on the house. And here to be paid, you say? Ahh I’ll be right back. Don’t you go anywhere now sweetheart.”
You watched him turn on his heel and leave toward the kitchen again with a bewildered but intrigued expression on your face as your hands finally left your lap and held the piping hot cup with a light grasp, humming with delight as it thawed out your chilly fingers. “Well that was nice…” It seemed that the small show of kindness was enough to dispel the silly fears you had previously harbored because the cup was quickly brought to your lips, gulping down some of the creamy liquid experimentally and sighing happily as the delicious caffeinated beverage laced with caramel warmed you to the core. The cute little hearts dispelled against your lips, but it was a small price to pay for the delicious taste. “Mm, I’ve never had anything this good.”
You finished the drink quicker than you realized—an adorable pout adorning your lips when there was no longer a drop of your beloved coffee lingering. There wasn’t much time to be disappointed though, the kind stranger that served you before was already heading back towards your table.
“Sorry about that my lady, please allow me to take care of that for you.” He began with another charming smile, taking the cup from your hands and setting it on the tray he held placed off to the side of the table. “Chef Zeff was regrettably a bit busy so he told me to go ahead and give you your payment this time, I hope that’s alright. I promise it’s all there.” He said as one of his hands sunk into his pants pocket to produce a sizable stack of berries. He placed it in your hands gingerly, and he seemed trustworthy enough that you just nodded and carefully tucked the money away in your bag.
“Thank you, Mister, um… Sorry, what was your name?” You asked with a sheepish smile in return, feeling bad for not having already asked the first time around when he had brought you the coffee, although you hadn’t really had the opportunity to to speak much to him before he had left to get the money from Zeff to give to you for the goods.
“My name is Sanji, and it has been my pleasure to help you out this lovely morning. What shall I call you, sweetheart? Unless you’re fine with being called that.” The cheeky blonde man you now knew as Sanji asked with a playful and flirtatious smirk pulling at the corners of his lips as he waited for your response without a shred of shame; going as far as taking your hand in his and pulling it up so he could press a chaste kiss to the back of your hand.
“T-Then thank you, Sanji. It’s nice to meet you,” You stammered in surprise, being reasonably caught off guard by the suddenness of the action and the continued casual flirtation. “-you can just call me y/n.”
“Y/n… Now that’s a perfect name for a stunning angel like yourself.” He tacked on with a seemingly ceaseless supply of butterfly inducing charm that you weren’t entirely sure what to do with. Your cheeks burned from the compliment yet you couldn’t seem to avert your gaze from the man. “So tell me y/n, will you be sticking around for breakfast? You just name it and I can head back to the kitchen and cook it up special for you. I promise it’ll be the best thing you’ve ever had.”
“Breakfast…? Oh I wish I could stay longer, but I’m afraid my father is waiting for me back at home. Perhaps next time I can stay and eat here.” You said, not even sure if a place like this would really fit into your expendable budget, but also not wanting to tell him no when he had been so kind to you. “I look forward to getting to try your cooking, Sanji. If it’s as good as the coffee you made for me I’m sure my savings will be in danger…” You added on with a warm laugh. “But I really must be going, I wouldn’t want to be in the way when customers start arriving. It really was nice to meet you Sanji.”
Sanji was going to protest that it wasn’t possible for you to be in the way, but you had already gotten up from your seat, smoothing your dress down before flashing him a smile that made him hope you really would come back; even if it was just so he could see you when you came to make a sale again. “My cooking is definitely better than the coffee, sweetheart. You’ll just have to find that out the next time you’re here then—which is soon I hope.” He said as he reached forward and gently untangled the charm on your necklace that had gotten wrapped around the chain when you stood up. “There you go, and I hope you don’t mind if I ask to walk you out? Couldn’t very well call myself a gentleman if I let a woman sail off unaided.”
Needless to say you couldn’t refuse and found yourself being escorted back to your ship, safe and sound just like your father had said you would be.
You shared a little bit more back and forth, telling him when the next shipment was to be expected and assuring him that it would be you delivering it again the next time, much to his evident delight. Eventually you realized he had managed to trick you into staying longer than you planned with innocent questions and with reluctance reminded him you had to leave before it got too late. He seemed disappointed but conceded knowing he had no real reason to keep you, even helping to untie the boat from the docks while you made your way to the wheel. You waved each other off, and that morning you took home with you more than just berries; a changed perspective and a desire to come back with enough cash to taste his cooking.
Present Day
Delivery days to the Baratie had become your favorite days of the month the past three months much to your fathers amusement, not that you’d told him the real reason you had warmed up to the job. It didn’t take much for an old man to figure out though when he saw his usually glum and disinterested daughter putting more effort into her appearance for a simple delivery looking to be in much higher spirits. His daughter being happy was nothing he would ever complain about, so he wasn’t too concerned. If anything it was nice to see you unwind and enjoy yourself more often.
“Y/n, why don’t you go ahead and take out what I owe you when you get paid today, huh? Stick around the Baratie for a bit. Treat yourself and eat there and tell your old man what you think of the food at the restaurant, eh? You’ve been working too hard lately. I appreciate it, but you need to take a break too.” Your father said as he walked you to the front door of your shared home to wave you off. “I insist; and y/n…? You look lovely today, honey.”
“Thank you, but what’s gotten into you today, dad?” You said with a laugh as you gave him a tight hug before boarding the little transport ship like usual. “If you’re sure you’ll be okay, I’ll stay for breakfast at least. I have been meaning to for some time now. Do you want me to bring you something back?”
“What, I can’t compliment my daughter?” Your father grumbled as he tossed the rope onboard before supporting his weight with his cane. “I’ll be fine! You worry about me too much, I have food here at home. Be young, go enjoy yourself.”
The boat trip was as usual pretty uneventful, but you were thrilled to finally be able to stay for once instead of leaving after being paid and stealing whatever few precious extra minutes with the handsome cook that had effortlessly gained your interest that you could. You didn’t even mind unloading the boxes today, but you took extra care regardless since you had worn a pretty white dress that shimmered like stardust when the light hit it and you didn’t want to get it dirty before he could see you all dressed up in it.
The delivery went off without issue, and now you sat at your usual seat in the dining room as you waited for Sanji—heart thudding nervously in your chest as butterflies danced in your stomach and throat. Despite the flirting over the past few months, you still never got used to seeing the way he smiled when he saw you, and you were certain that today’s smile would inflict critical damage to your heart, but it was only fair since you were sure to do the same. It felt a bit silly dressing up just for these moments, but every smile and compliment was well worth a few lingering moments of feeling a bit ridiculous.
The moment he appeared in your peripheral vision you straightened in your chair and subconsciously began to fix your hair, but stopped fussing when you could tell that he had seen you. Then there it was, a breathtaking, awestruck, toothy grin like a kid being allowed to open their gifts early on Christmas that sucked the air right out of your lungs.
“Y/n sweetheart, you look absolutely ethereal this morning!” Sanji gasped as he wasted no time in showering the back of your hand in soft kisses; something that had become a usual greeting between the two of you yet never failed to set your heart rate pounding sky high. “To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing an angel in my presence…?” He cooed softly, laying it on thick as per the usual, but today you wanted to see what would happen if you let the casual flirting teeter into new territory.
“Aw Sanji, you're too sweet to me, thank you...!” You smiled shyly as you let your hand stay captured in his gentle grasp, enjoying his warmth. In your desire to see what would happen though, you squeezed his hand and rubbed your thumb over his while looking him in the eyes to answer his question. “Well, I wanted to see you of course; and I just had to finally see what your cooking tastes like.” With the incoming payment today, and expressed permission from your father to use the funds, you were more than prepared to pay whatever price you had to for the ‘best meal you’d ever had’ as Sanji had promised you the first time you had met.
It was clear for a split second that you had completely flustered the poor man by reciprocating even a fraction of the attention he was giving you from the adorable shade of pink that dusted his cheeks, but his happiness at hearing you would finally be dining on the Baratie and eating his food helped his temporary brain override right itself, instantly widening his smile and seemingly just encouraging him to go further with his affections.
“Just for me? Well in that case I can’t refuse, can I?” Sanji said as he carefully pulled you up from your seated position and began to lead you into the kitchen where everyone was working away. It earned you a few curious gazes but they ultimately said nothing as they watched Sanji take you to one of the industrial stoves to show off. Being Zeff’s adopted son had its privileges every now and then. “So what are you in the mood for today, my angel?”
“Are you sure it’s okay that I’m back here? I could’ve just ordered at the table, Sanji…” You asked anxiously, but were taken off guard when he plopped a hand on your head and gently ruffled your hair in a show of affection to make you stop worrying, but still making sure not to mess it up.
“Don’t worry about it y/n, no one’s gonna say anything to you for being in here.” Sanji said with a laugh before smiling brightly down at you. “Could’ve ordered at the table? Nonsense, I won’t have it. Don’t worry about the details, love. I’m going to be cooking for you personally, so don’t worry about paying, okay? Just let me know what sounds good to you and I’ll see what I can do. It’s the least I can do to make your day a little better after you brightened my day so easily.”
You were a bit baffled when he told you that you didn’t need to pay but you weren’t about to question him, especially not when he continued to make your heart skip with those pretty smiles of his. So you nodded in agreement, but it didn’t completely sit right with you to just let him do it by himself when you had come here to spend time with him. “Okay fine, but can I at least help you cook…? I would feel a lot better about not paying if you let me help out. Also, I was thinking maybe some strawberry crêpes? I know it’s simple, but I’m craving sweets.”
Sanji had been looking forward to wowing you with his culinary prowess, but hearing how cute it was that you wanted to help make something to satisfy your sweet tooth had him wholeheartedly agreeing to let you without any hesitation. “Sure, of course you can help me sweetheart. Follow me to the fridge so you can help me grab some things we need? Then I’ll make sure my sweet gets her sweets.” He said as he held his hand out to you, which you then took without a second thought.
“Mhm!” You hummed happily as you kept closely behind him, taking the items he handed you without a fuss or a worry in your mind. It was nice not to have to stress about rushing right back home, especially when things seemed to be going so well between the two of you right now. You even wondered if you could get him to eat with you as you carried the necessary ingredients to the nearby countertop. It wasn't anything too crazy, but it made your day knowing you got to share this time with him, helping him doing what he loved to do. “What would you like me to do next, Chef Sanji?” Your tone was happy and playful with a hint of flirtation.
“Ideally I’d love for you to just sit here and look gorgeous while I serve you, but since you insist on helping you can go ahead and slice some strawberries and make the whipped filling for the crêpes if you don’t mind.” He said as he began making the batter, then fired up the stove with an audible click of gas before flame started to lick the bottom of the pan and warm it until it was hot enough to make the layers of batter he poured into it make beautifully browned thin crêpes ready for the filling—more than plenty enough for just you.
You had finished slicing the strawberries into a neat bowl and were in the process of whipping the heavy cream and cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla when Sanji came up behind you to check on your progress, placing a hand innocently on your hip and letting his chin rest on your shoulder. The close contact made you freeze for a moment before relaxing against him and enjoying it for as long as it would last instead. “I’m almost done too! But it would be a shame to have to eat all of this by myself... Won’t you share them with me, Sanji?” You asked while running your finger along the edge of the bowl to collect the excess fluffy cream on your index finger, bringing it to your mouth for a taste. “Mm… Please? You definitely have to taste this.”
Sanji found it too cute to resist your persistence on sharing your special meal together, so he didn’t say no. In fact, he was definitely tempted to have a taste for himself—just not entirely what you were thinking. “Don’t mind if I do, my angel.” He said with a smirk as he gently turned your chin to have you look at him, leaning in to steal a quick kiss to taste the sweet cream lingering there from your own stolen taste of it. “Just the right amount of sweetness.”
At that moment you were certain that if anyone looked up ‘flustered’ in a dictionary it would surely have a photograph of you as its subject. Your cheeks burned hot, lips parted in shock and you almost thought you imagined it when he let go of you and took the bowl of sweet cream to begin filling the crêpes like nothing had just happened. Given the setting you didn’t want to question it, figuring you’d get a chance to ask about it later.
After everything was dished up onto two plates he grabbed a fork and cut off a reasonably sized piece, lifting it to your lips with an expectant expression. “Now it’s time for the ‘look gorgeous while I serve you’ portion of our morning.” Sanji said quite cheekily and didn’t relent until you gave in and ate from the dainty metal fork obediently. “That’s a good girl. There’s no better compliment you could give me than just seeing you enjoy the food we’ve made together, sweetheart.”
It almost made you choke hearing him call you that, but you attributed it to his tendency to use terms of endearment with you and tried to focus on the taste of the food in your mouth instead. It was by all means perfect just like he said it would be. Sweet but not too sweet with the buttery crêpe and freshness from the strawberries, but you had to admit that it paled in comparison to the sweet kiss he had stolen from you just a few moments ago. In the cheesiest way possible, that had been enough to satisfy your craving; not that you would say that and ruin how happy he looked when you took another piece that was offered to you without fuss and then another until it was gone. You’d eat whatever he offered without question, especially if he kept smiling at you like that.
“So tell me, was it as good as you had hoped it would be?” Sanji asked as he gently dabbed a folded napkin against your lips like you would shatter if he wasn’t careful with you. It almost made him laugh though when you looked a little disappointed, which he deduced was from his use of the napkin instead of a suave smooch, but he rationalized that the morning wasn’t quite over yet until you’d stepped on the boat to leave; and he had his own clever little agenda at play. If another kiss was what you were after, you were sure to get it and more as long as you just said yes to a separate question he had for you.
You immediately nodded but cleared your throat so you could contribute more than that—he certainly deserved praise for even bringing you back and cooking for you in the first place. “It was amazing Sanji, I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back and paying for a meal next time, especially if you’ll be the one cooking it for me… How can I repay you?”
“There is really no need for you to repay me for any of this sweetheart. I only request that you’ll allow me to accompany you back to your boat again? I’ve really come to like our time together you know, so I hope you don’t mind.” He said with another jello leg inducing smile that only allowed you to profusely agree, suddenly regretting eating the crêpe so quickly upon realizing it meant it was getting around the time to head out so he could get back to work.
However, all good things eventually had to come to an end so you reluctantly nodded and allowed him to escort you back to your ship. Once you got there he handed you a container with the leftover crêpes under the promise that you’d give it to your father as a thanks for not minding you staying out a bit later.
“Are you sure I can take this…? Aren’t you hungry? You didn’t eat any of it at all, just fed me…” You said with a concerned pout that only made him smile at your sweet consideration of him. “I just feel bad—”
Sanji gently pressed a finger to your lips with an amused shake of his head. “If you’re so worried about me eating something, why don’t you come back later tonight and we can have dinner together when I get off, my angel? If your father doesn’t mind letting you run off again that is.” He said with a smirk as he removed his finger from your lips in favor of caressing your cheek. “We’ll have a proper date, if that’s something you would like y/n.”
You subconsciously leaned into his touch and nodded, knowing that if anything your father would be annoyingly supportive and take the chance to remind you that you had once been practically quaking in your boots about even going to the Baratie once upon a time and now you couldn’t get enough, wanting to go of your own free will to see one of those pirates you had been so afraid of.
“I would love that, Sanji. I’ll be here, I promise.”
After that Sanji didn’t hesitate to cup your face with both of his hands and lean in to press one more kiss to your lips and then another, letting his lips linger against yours instead of pulling away right away since there weren’t a bunch of eyes on the two of you out here. It only made you even more certain that you would face whatever teasing you had to so you could make it back here tonight for a chance at receiving more of his addictive affections.
He eventually pulled away from the kiss and rested his forehead against yours with a soft sigh, pulling you into a tight warm embrace before he had to send you away like he didn’t even want to let you go. “I’ll see you tonight then, my sweet angel.”

[[A/N: Just know the vibes for Rick in this one are Bucky-based. Like Marvel Winter Soldier character. anyway... Thanks for reading!!! ]]
Tumblr media
He wasn't talking, was the first thing you noticed. Which was weird, it wasn't like you were paying attention to him, but he was the one who invited you- whatever.
You were staring, you knew that, but it was just a little dumbfounding. He spoke little, only a few people here and there and when they tried to push farther, he clammed up.
But not with you.
You had in fact been sticking to his side all evening -including during the grilling.
"Y'er gonna wanna wait 'til it's a nice brown," he hummed, motioning to the grill, "-then, flip it."
He was teaching you how to flip burgers, which you kind of already knew but you'd take it from him. Rick's voice was very nice what could you say, you were a simple person.
"Is there any sort of timing into it?" you asked.
"Well, yeah, there's-"
And he paused, eyes locked onto something behind you in a sort of sharpened stare. One you'd never seen before. There were all sorts of new features of Rick's you were discovering.
"What's-" you turned to look.
There was a woman there, tall and slim -beautiful. She had long brown hair, warm brown eyes, and a face sculpted to perfection. The woman seemed to notice Rick and instantly waved a sort of awkward little hand -uncomfortable. You probably would be too if such a glance was leveled at you.
In a fit of courage, you asked, "Whose that?"
Rick didn't respond for a moment, eyes staring straight at her -he looked a little lost. Something in the blue was a deep sort of bitter, but another part was... sad.
"Hey," you stepped in front of his eyes, "-everything okay, Rick?"
He sighed, blue eyes landing on yours, something releasing at the sight of you -the tension in his shoulders. You didn't want to analyze that today.
"My ex-wife."
Oh, something in your mind went blank as you peered back at her but she was now gone from the gate.
"Was she..." you echoed, slowly, "-invited?"
"No," he sighed -a deep one, "-my son probably... It doesn't matter."
"Do you want me to..." you started, a bit nervously, "-stick with you? Maybe ward her away?"
"What like-" he started all gruff voice and hands, sort of awkward, "-like we're datin'?"
"Well, maybe...?" you answered, unsure, "-I was thinking more flirty? Just to keep her at bay, nothing more awkward for an ex-wife, yeah?"
"Well..."
"Does she live around here?" you asked.
He huffed out, "No, but I... just ain't sure with lyin'."
"Who said I was lying, loverboy," you winked at him (and you swore you saw his ears flush), "-but it's only whatever you're comfortable with."
"I think," he hummed, before matching your eyes -thoughtfully, "-yeah, okay. Just one day."
"Just one day," you parroted back, sliding yourself into his side and grabbing his arm, "-wanna go fetch a drink, Mr. Grimes?"
He grinned, in a sort of dazed way -you wondered why for a second, "Yeah, okay."
And so you stayed by his side the entire night, hands lingering and batting your eyes every once in a while -playing the part was strangely natural to you. He reciprocated actions, taking halfway through that night to call you 'darlin' and sometimes even sneaking his hand at the base of your waist -guiding you.
"You okay?" he whispered, the night was over and the party slowly dimmed down, it was just the two of you out here. Yet, he gathered you into his side and wrapped an arm (calloused fingers pressed into your shoulder) around you.
"Yeah," you hummed -mind lit up with memories, memories you were running from, "-just thinking."
"What about?"
Tears gather in your eyes, and you wipe them away -it felt so natural to do so, "Someone I shouldn't."
He fell quiet, only rubbing his hand down your arm -back and forth, back and forth. You took a chance and leaned into his shoulder, nothing romantic then, just... just support.
"Will ya tell me one day?" he asked, genuinely -the rumble of his throat echoing through your head.
"Maybe," you spoke softly, before teasing, "-if you're nice."
Rick laughed, and you felt something in you flicker like a lightbulb -you pushed the warmth away. Despite how good this felt, you couldn't have this. You swore-
"Everythin' alright?"
You sighed, slowly removing yourself from his arm, "Yeah, just tired. Think I need to pack it up for the night."
"Okay," he spoke, gently, but looked at you heavily with those blue eyes, like he knew, "-have a goodnight, darlin'."
You softened, smiling wide and trailing back to your house, "Goodnight, loverboy!"
He laughed, big and loud and you heard it all the way to your door, maybe even after replaying it in your head. You felt a sparkle when... when you made him laugh. A twinkle in your chest.
You stilled.
Not now, you hummed to yourself, trying to flush out the feeling, no more, no more.
"He'll leave you," something in your mind said -quiet and creeping, "-they leave."
You went inside and closed your eyes. You needed a break.

Reunion
Ten years after the events of LU, the Thunder Dragon is met with his beloved Hylian friend one more time.
AO3
Reunion
In the decade since Link returned from his second adventure, the Thunder Dragon has made an effort to connect with the Hylians on the Surface. He visits newly built neighborhoods occasionally, dropping Rupees into the fields and singing for farmers to keep them entertained as they work. After so many years spent in near-isolation, it is relieving to become more involved in the bustle of others’ everyday lives.
And so, he doesn’t think much of it when a Hylian bursts into his clearing, gazing up at him in astonishment. Rather, what makes him pause is the newness of this person. A man approaching middle age, with pale skin, curly brown hair, and dressed in a simple chestnut tunic and trousers.
He doesn’t remember seeing this man anywhere, on Skyloft or the Surface…
“Lanayru!”
His eyes widen in surprise. “How did you know my name?”
“You’re here!” the man continues, ignoring the dragon’s question. “It’s really you, I can’t believe it!” He sprints across the clearing to get closer to Lanayru. “Oh…I missed you so much!!”
“Woah, woah, slow down. Do I know you?”
He certainly knows me.
And the man does look slightly familiar…
“Don’t say you don’t remember me!” He slows to a stop, gazing up at Lanayru with hazel eyes. “Here, maybe this will ring a bell? My name is Link.”
“Really? Hmm…how interesting, I’m afraid I don’t know another Li–”
He gasps.
The fluffy brown hair, the unmistakable eyes and composure of a hero, the sweet smile that has persisted with age…
It’s him.
A name escapes Lanayru’s mouth, one he hasn’t uttered in so many years.
“...Rulie??”
The man nods.
Holy fucking shit!!
“Yes, I’m the Hero of Hyrule. I was worried you wouldn’t recognize me, old man!”
“Wha–? Why–how did you–?” In a frenzy, Lanayru stumbles over his words. “How–are you here?”
Rulie chuckles. “Portal.”
The Thunder Dragon frowns. The only portals he knows of, besides the Gate of Time, are the dark magic ones the Shadow created…
“But…your quest is over. Has another one started?”
“No, quite the opposite. This one wasn’t dark magic at all, it was white and gold. I felt calm as I walked through. And it just led me straight here. I think that…the Goddesses wanted us to meet again.”
Lanayru’s heart races in his chest. This is a dream. It has to be a dream, right? Because Rulie is standing right in front of him. The one who left forever a decade ago. If not a dream, an absolute miracle.
“Well, they waited an awfully long time!” he exclaims. Why? Why not earlier…? “You have more wisdom in your eyes, boy. May I ask, how old are you now?”
“I’m thirty.”
The old dragon raises an eyebrow. Rulie was twenty when he left.
“Ah, I see.” Lanayru replies, nodding his head. “It’s been ten years for me, too. You know…I still think about you after all this time, I am beyond relieved to know you are alive and well. You have no idea how happy this makes me–”
“Oh, I do. I can see it in your face.” Hyrule grins, in exactly the same way he used to do, the only difference being the slight marks around his features from aging. “And you’re really lighting up!”
The Thunder Dragon briefly glances down, watching the line of blue light travel from his tail up to his chest. Faster and brighter than usual, for sure. The sparks of electricity from his horns are most likely a bit more frequent too. Changes that are seen as subtle by most others, but Rulie…he remembers.
He lets out a hearty laugh as he turns back to the hero. “I guess I am, boy.” Hmm… should he still be calling Rulie ‘boy’? “Here, if you don’t mind…can I–”
The hero responds right as he begins to lower his hand.
“You don’t need to ask for that one. Just grab me!”
“…Oh?”
Many Hylians are wary of touching Lanayru, due to the electricity he emits, even though the only real way to be harmed is to touch his horns. Nobody just lets him pick them up like this.
Except for Rulie.
It’s more proof that this man is indeed Hyrule, and not some Surface man who looks just like him, pretending to be the hero in some awful prank.
“Go on, old man, what are you waiting for?”
The old dragon gently wraps his fingers around Rulie’s body and lifts his hand up toward his face, placing the man into the palm of his other hand. “Alright, lemme take a look at you…”
With one finger he strokes through the wild mess of hair, smoothing it down, just like he used to do. The hero sits down in his palm and runs a hand along the soft but scaly texture.
“My friend, you…you’re really here,” Lanayru breathes out.
His eyes fill with tears.
“Hard to believe, isn’t it?” Rulie chuckles. “So…how are you?? How’s Faron and Eldin? And Link! Is he okay?”
“Yes, they’re all good. I just helped Link and Zelda welcome their second child. And Faron—well, she’s a bratty little thing as usual…” He pauses to let out a sniffle. “I’m still causing mischief around here. Eldin once said I’m ‘stubborn and wily’.”
“He’s not wrong. All three of you, total brats.” The hero is clearly teasing, and Lanayru smiles behind his fluffy beard. “Ah, I had a feeling Sky would become a dad. He’s a good one, I’m sure. Can we see him?”
“I’ll take you soon, yes.” Lanayru replies. “Anywhere you want to go, boy. Just not to…Lake Floria—“
Before he knows it, a single tear runs down his cheek. Oh, sweet Hylia.
“Lanayru? Are you…crying?”
“No,” he shoots back, wiping his face quickly. He hasn’t cried since….well, since Rulie left.
“Nuh-uh. I can see it.” Rulie grins. “Stubborn little shit.”
…Fuck.
“Fine, you got me…” He lets out a sigh. “I just—I never thought I would actually see you again.”
Another tear comes, but he doesn’t try to hide it this time. He carefully moves his hand up to his beard, and Rulie leans up against the cloud-like fluff.
“…A true blessing, I believe,” the hero replies. “Maybe I’ll get to see all my brothers again too…that would be amazing. Oh, Wind’s probably changed so much!”
“I bet he has.” Lanayru doesn’t elaborate; he barely remembers who this ‘Wind’ person was. Instead he focuses on Rulie, who is scanning the clearing from his perch. The traveler gasps.
“Is that…” Rulie points down toward their left, at the small four-poster bed. The one that had been his back then. “…is that my bed? Did you keep it??”
“Surprisingly, yes.” Lanayru sniffles, trying to regain his composure. “I nearly destroyed it after you left, but…something inside told me not to. It’s my reminder of you, boy.”
“Aw, Lanayru! I’m honored. Although…it looks like someone else has it now, huh?”
The Thunder Dragon takes a closer look at the bed. Sure enough, one of his LD-301 robots is lying there, snuggled in the pillow and blanket.
He giggles, nearly snorting from the tears. “Ah yes, my little friends have taken quite a liking for it.”
It is difficult to tell from this distance, but Lanayru can just make out the features of LD-301S Scrapper. The one Link had frustratingly handed back to him after the first adventure, tired of the small creature’s rude insults. And the one whom the dragon jokingly calls ‘Scrapper the Napper’ now.
Rulie strokes Lanayru’s beard with his hands, grinning. “I remember those little guys. Do you…think they’ll remember me too?”
“Well, maybe. LD-301’s have limited capacity for memories like that. But a few might recognize your name. I was able to teach them ‘Rulie.’ Of course…now they’ve just been calling each other Rulie. So I don’t think they really get it.”
“Awww! Little rascals!” the traveler exclaims. “Wow…I really missed them. I missed all of this! You especially, old man…and all my brothers, my family. It was kinda nice, having a family.”
Lanayru touches Rulie’s hair with a finger again, keeping the hero secure in his other palm. The poor man had been through far too much, at far too young. He deserved to have a real childhood, a chance at a happy life from the start.
“Rulie…you deserve so much better, you know that right? It made our farewell a thousand times more difficult. Because your life has not been easy. And I had to let you go right back to a world that is so cruel to you.” Another tear trickles down his face as he speaks.
The hero doesn’t answer right away, just stares out into the expansion of forest ahead of them.
“I’ve managed,” he replies eventually. “Zelda’s helped me a lot. And remembering you all too…I’ve been using what you and my brothers have taught me.”
Lanayru raises an eyebrow. “Like what?”
“Like…different sword fighting skills, self-defense, how to swear at people who fucking piss me off…”
“Ahh, Rulie.” He cackles at the hero’s foul language. “I suppose I was a bad influence on you after all.”
“Nah, that was mostly from Legend. My predecessor.” The traveler pauses to take a breath. “But really, I gained confidence in myself. I’ve kicked some ass out there, old man, you would be impressed.”
“I bet you have.” The old dragon heaves a sigh, remembering the last time he gazed into Rulie’s eyes, and utters the words he has always longed to say. “…I’m so proud of you, boy. You know that, right?”
Hyrule slowly nods, lifting himself out from Lanayru’s beard and looking up at him.
“…Yeah.”
“When we last saw each other, I didn’t get to say that to you one more time. I didn’t tell you how incredible you are and how much you’d grown…even since we first met. And I felt an overwhelming shame.”
“Oh, Lanayru…”
“It’s true. You are a skilled warrior, a loyal friend, you’re truly a gift, Rulie.” He blinks through still-watery eyes and gives the traveler a soft smile. “I hope I made that clear enough ten years ago, and if I didn’t, my sincerest apologies.”
There. You did it.
For a moment, he can almost see Rulie in his green hero’s tunic, sword on his back and a fierce but playful glimmer in his eyes, twenty again. Their last meeting. And if Lanayru had known for sure it was the last one, he would have given a proper farewell.
But when the traveler walked through the dark magic portal, the dragon’s heart ached from bittersweet memories and words left unsaid.
“Don’t be sorry, old man.” Hyrule replies, bringing the dragon out of his thoughts. “I’ve always known how proud you are. You did more than enough.”
“Really? Are you sure?”
“Of course you silly goose, I’m sure! What, you think I’m lying?”
Lanayru chuckles, another tear running down his face. “No…you’re right. I trust you.”
Rulie sighs in what seems to be relief, briefly turning to glance at the clearing’s entrance. And the Thunder Dragon remembers: he needs to take the hero to Link and Zelda, to their two children, and to Skyloft…there is so much to catch up on.
“Good, I’m glad that hasn’t changed.” Hyrule smiles playfully, booping Lanayru’s beard with his finger. It seems his childhood mannerisms have not quite left with age. “Because I’m not leaving your side until I have to go back!”
The dragon wipes his eyes gently, attempting to collect himself before his flight. He doesn’t want to show up at Link’s house looking like this, after all.
“Sounds like a good plan,” he tells the hero.
And somewhere up in the heavens, a Goddess smiles.

Stardew Mod Ideas I'm Working On
(And a few I'm thinking about)
1. Skylar NPC (WIP)
This is just me adding my farmer OC into Stardew as a friendable NPC. I started it as a personal thing for fun, but then people convinced me to actually share it so
Completed Things
Ridgeside Village Compatability
Generic Dialogue
A basic schedule
Gift Tastes
Festival Additions
Festival Dialogue
Dynamic Outfits (Seasonal/Location Based)
Sprite Animations
Things I need to add
Movie and Concession Tastes
Movie Dialogue
Dynamic Dialogue
Dynamic Schedule (don't want them hanging out in their friends' houses if you married their friends)
Schedule/Animation Dialogue
Heart Events (Still working on backstory/storyline details)
A map for their farm house (Sky just lives with Victor right now)
Compatability with East Scarp?
Compatability without Ridgeside Village (I made it to work with both Expanded and Ridgeside Village. Expanded is necessary, but RSV shouldn't have to be)
Future Plans
Adding Rhys the Fruit Bat as an NPC (I see many of you are fond of him)
Adding an event with Abby post her family event
Dynamic Festival Dialogue
Compatability with following mods
2. Foods I really want rn
(Call it a working title if you will.)
This mod is me adding foods that I like to the game. Most of it being Asian dishes + a few drinks I like.
Featuring
Foods
Spring Rolls
Summer Rolls
Pho
Bánh Mi
Bao Buns
Tofu (not sure if this is part of another mod already or not)
Green Bean Cassrole
Lychee Jelly
Chocolate
Potato Soup
Drinks
Hot Chocolate
Mocha
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Peppermint Mocha
Peppermint Tea
Crops I'll probably need to add
Soybeans (Maybe? Might also be in another mod)
Mint
Carrots
Cucumber
Lychee
Persimmon
Cocoa Bean
That's all I've got for that one. It will take me a lot of research so it's very much on the back burner for now.
3. Rival Heart Events
I've gotten kind of fond of these for other characters so I figured it would be fun to do it for mine.
Featuring
Sam and Sky
Lance and Sky (Don't expect anyone to use this. I mean why wouldn't you want to date him yourself)
Sam, Lance and Sky (don't expect this to be used for the same reason as above)
Victor and Sky (but Queerplatonically)
Each of these contains a few events and schedule/dialogue changes for the characters involved, eventually resulting in them moving into Sky's farmhouse.
4. Add Lance to Festivals (WIP)
I know Lance joins festivals when you're married, but since I'm making rival heart events, I think it would be cool to add him in once he reaches 6 hearts like some of the other NPCS.
This also leaves him open for more dynamic dialogue.
Featuring
Generic Dialogue
Dating Dialogue
Engaged Dialogue
Married Dialogue
Rival Heart Dialogue
Addition to Resolution of Embers Festival
Commentary from Skylar
Here are some images from when I was testing. (Please ignore their incorrect positions and the fact they Skylar's sprite is wrong lmao)
Skylar's Spirit's Eve Dialogue
Tumblr media
Lance at Festivals Dialogue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Skylar to NPC Adventures (Almost Complete)
I know I've talked about this one before, but adding Skylar as a companion for the NPC Adventures mod!
Featuring dialogue for multiple locations including Vanilla Areas and Expanded.
Currently working on adding dialogue for Ridgeside and East Scarp, and determining if Skylar should be a spiritual pacifist (keeps monsters from attacking for a period of time) or a warrior to help with combat.
6. Kent to NPC Adventures (low-key abandoned wip, but I might pick it back up)
Same thing as above tbh, but for Kent because he's a member of the Adventurer's Guild and my dad and I want to go on expeditions and fish, and he deserves it! [End rant]
Things I still need to do
Write dialogue for more locations (difficult because I don't see Kent as someone who talks a lot)
Add a fishing animation (idk how to do this, someone please help if you know)
That's all I have going right now. I hope this was enlightening for anyone who was curious.

Note
Ah yes, a Stardew Valley inspired IF, which only means I must make my workaholic stardew farmer in game so that the other villagers can slowly get more and more concerned about the fact they keep fucking passing out from exhaustion literally every day (year 1 spring was rough man)
ahahaha, this sounds very familiar. 😭 the first year is always so hard.
not 100% sure what other kind of "gameplay" elements i will borrow from sdv/harvest moon yet but there will be (some sort of) gift giving and heart events that you can't access without high enough approval! there will also be a "day off" feature (think like shepherds of haven for example) that you can spend how you wish.
ambitious goals include to make some sort of currency feature. like you could spend coins at the roseborough shop to buy things like seeds that you can plant in your garden and also buy stuff for your house and animals.
i have a lot of stuff that i would love to add to the game but i'm also a beginner and i don't know if i have enough skill for it. when i start posting the demo, it's likely that these features will be added later, and at first i just focus on the main story, until i'm familiar enough with twine to expand the game with all the cool stuff i want. we will see!
sjsksksj, sorry you didn't ask for this wall of text but your message was a good opportunity to talk about this, lol!

Fun Things To Do in Medford Oregon
Tumblr media
Medford, Oregon is a fun place to visit. It has great food, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do! I'm going to tell you about some of my favorite places in Medford so that when you come to visit you can have an awesome time too.
Vodka tasting at Crater Lake
Tumblr media
Want to get a more sophisticated buzz? Some of the best vodkas in the country are made right here in Medford, Oregon. The vodka is distilled from potatoes and aged in barrels that were once used for bourbon or whiskey. A local family runs the distillery, and they produce their own spirits onsite. The business also has tasting rooms where you can sample any of their fine liquors—including gin, rum, and whiskey—to your heart’s content!
If you want to learn more about this process, check out one of these two cool events:
Vodka 101: A Tasting Class – $35 (2 hours)
Learn how vodka gets made by touring Crater Lake Distillery before taking part in an educational tasting session that will teach you how to identify different types of vodkas by taste alone (no glasses required). This class starts at 10 am every Saturday morning but spaces fill up quickly so be sure to book well ahead if you want to attend!
Go to the Medford Farmers Market.
Tumblr media
The Medford Farmers Market is a market where you can buy fresh produce, homemade food, and products, and even get your pet's food. The location of market is at the corner of Main Street and Riverside Drive. You can expect to find vegetables that are in season, as well as some out-of-season vegetables or fruits. There are also meat products sold here such as beef jerky, bison burgers, chicken breast strips, and pork chops. You can also purchase desserts like brownies or cookies from local bakeries like Big O's Cookies & Sweets (which has been featured on Food Network).
The farmers market is open every Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM during spring through fall months (November - April), and closed during winter months (May - October). Admission into the market costs $0 for adults due to its location being part of a public park area; there will be booths selling tickets for rides/attractions nearby if interested in those activities instead!
Hike Table Rock
Tumblr media
If you like to hike, Table Rock is the place for you. This trail is short and sweet, but it’s also a great workout. The trail begins at the Crater Lake Lodge and climbs up several switchbacks before reaching Table Rock (a 1,200-foot elevation gain). Once at the top of this plateau-like rock, you’ll be rewarded with views of nearby Wizard Island, Mount Scott, and Mount Thielsen in addition to Crater Lake itself! If you get lucky with weather conditions or go during peak wildflower season (May), there are tons of wildflowers along the way that will make your hike even more magical.
Visit the Rogue Creamery.
Tumblr media
Located in a tiny town called Central Point, this artisanal cheese maker is well-known as a tourist attraction. In addition to making some of Oregon's best cheeses and ice creams, it has a tasting room and gift shop where you can sample its delicious products. There's also a restaurant that serves up fresh sandwiches and soups made with their cheese (and you thought sandwiches were just for lunch). If you're not into eating out then stop by for the picnic area where you can pack your own lunch or order one from their restaurant menu to enjoy in the park setting outside!
Look for Sasquatch at Collier State Park.
Tumblr media
If you're looking for something to do that's weird and wonderful, then look no further than Collier State Park. You can find Sasquatch here!
Sasquatch is a legendary creature, which supposedly lives in the forests of Oregon and Washington. It is said to eat berries and nuts from trees, but unlike Bigfoot, it doesn't like beer or pizza (or maybe they just don't get along). As with other mythical creatures such as dragons and fairies, there have not been any real sightings of Sasquatch—but that doesn't mean you can't try!
Collier State Park is part of the Coast Range mountains; it covers more than 3,000 acres near the city of Medford. It has plenty of hiking trails where you might be able to spot some furry beasties lurking around the bushes or hiding behind trees—check out their website for more information about camping at this park if you want an overnight stay!

A Fall Tablescape and My New Thanksgiving Ebook (Survive the holiday with ease)
It’s very satisfying to start with an idea and create something beautiful!
~ Yours Truly
I’m a collector…I collect dishes, silver, vases, beautiful objects. There are times when I think I need to let go of my stuff and clear out the clutter and there are times when I’m so thankful I have these collections to pull from when I’m feeling creative. I go back and forth between wanting to be a minimalist and trying to come to terms with the fact that I’m a maximalist who loves to be organized. I’m not sure the two go together, especially given the busy life that I’m currently living. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t dream about having “a place for everything”, but then my busy brain thinks of a project or table setting or blog post and I’m running around gathering things and putting them in piles for when I have time to create the table or the post or whatever else I’m imagining. Then I look around at the piles and get stressed because everything is a mess! I think that’s a creative brain at work and I probably just need to embrace it!
There is a point to this ramble…
Recently, I attended an event in Chapel Hill, NC called Design Matters. It was an event to raise money for the UNC Children’s Hospital which is such a great cause. This was a two day event and the focus was about why design matters in our lives! James Farmer, the famous interior designer and gardener, was the keynote speaker on the first day and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed hearing him speak. He is a Southern gentleman at heart and such an endearing person. If you don’t know James Farmer, I highly recommend all of his books…you’ll definitely be inspired.
Day two of the Design Matters event featured Caroline Gidiere who is an interior designer from Birmingham, Alabama. Caroline was also such a great and inspiring speaker! We ate lunch while we listened to her speak and enjoyed pictures of her beautiful home and projects that she had worked on. I left with many ideas to implement in our home.
The speakers at the Design Matters event were fabulous, but I’ll have to say that the highlight for me was viewing the many tablescapes that were created by designers and shop owners in the area. From Christmas tables to Thanksgiving tables and everything in between…my mind was spinning when I left. I took mostly videos on my phone because I wanted to be able to recreate some of the tables and put my spin on them. I’m sharing a couple of pictures below…kicking myself for not taking more!
One thing that I learned…
Almost every table had a beautiful arrangement of flowers in the center, but what really made the tables look so beautiful was what had been placed on the table around the flowers. It was like the flowers were the center of the arrangement but there was also an arrangement around the flowers. Look at my table below and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Around the flower vase, I added apples, votive candles, more hydrangeas, ivy, pumpkins, etc. This made the table so interesting, visually appealing and full!
One of my favorite purchases this year has been this little round bistro table with 4 chairs. I’ve used it for so many photo shoots and it fits perfectly in our gazebo. I decided to create a fall tablescape while I was still full of inspiration from the Design Matters event and i was so pleased with how it turned out.
For the center of the table, I used an arrangement that I purchased at the Design Matters event (these were on the lunch tables and were sold afterward). After placing the flowers in the center of the table, I added hydrangeas from my yard, ivy, small pumpkins, votive candles and then I began to set the table.
I love to mix styles of plates and glasswear…I don’t think it matters as long as there is a common color and each piece is beautiful. I used square placemats, pink and white dishes from Haand Ceramics (don’t forget to use code CRAZYBLONDELIFE for 15% off), antique linen napkins, amber glass champagne glasses, small vintage juice glasses and ivory pearl flatware. I added small vintage bowls filled with crackers around each plate along with small bowls (also from Haand filled with ). The mixture of the more contemporary plates with the vintage items along with the fullness of the center of the table, really was beautiful!
The combination of the white plates along with the pink and brown made for the perfect outdoor table setting and matched the flowers perfectly! As I said above, I love mixing contemporary with vintage and these little pink bowls looked amazing on the vintage, gold rimmed glass tray! If you’re unsure of what will look good together, just get it all out and play around until it makes you happy! It’s very satisfying to start with an idea and create something beautiful!
I’m so glad you’ve scrolled this far because I’m sharing a link for my Thanksgiving E-Book! My daughter Rebecca helped put this together and it’s something you’re going to love! Just click the link to get tips for organization, recipes, outfit ideas and more to make this Thanksgiving the BEST EVER!
Below are a few pictures of my favorite table setting. you can easily see what I’m talking about with the fabulous velvet pumpkins piled up around the base of the flower vase and the taper candles. This arrangement was huge and so beautiful! The picture…bottom right was another of my favorites!
I’ve made a small boutique below that contains a few of the items I’ve mentioned! I’m planning on doing a little more research on vintage items that I’ll add! Thanks so much for reading today! I hope you’re inspired to create a beautiful table of your own and I hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving Survival Guide!!

A Sprinkle in Time (Shake Shop Mystery) by Dana Mentink #Review / #Giveaway @PoisonedPenPress

On Flashback Fridays I will share with you the books I was not able to review when they were first released that have been screaming at me from my To-Be-Read bookshelf.

It's Alpenfest in Upper Sprocket! Yodelers are congregating in the square, tourists flocking to the town, and Trinidad Jones is scooping up some fall flavors at her Shimmy and Shake Shop. The cherry on the sundae is her upcoming feature in The Scoop magazine. She's determined to serve up the perfect interview, but it won't be easy, thanks in part to her meddling Cuban grandfather Papa Luis who has decided to make Sprocket his home for the foreseeable future. Papa Luis has set himself up as a taxi driver in his classic 1951 Buick. But things take a turn when Papa Luis tells her he's found a corpse in his trunk. Upon closer investigation, they realize the body has disappeared. With the assistance of Juliette and Bonnie (her sisterhood of exes) and the way too handsome nut farmer Quinn Logan, Trinidad must solve the mystery of the disappearing corpse, before her father is up to his neck in a murderous mess. Dollycas's Thoughts The yodelers have come to Upper Sprocket for Alpenfest along with the tourists and Trinidad Jones is ready to scoop up some new autumn flavors at her Shimmy and Shake Shop. She is also excited about her upcoming feature in The Scoop magazine. Papa Luis had decided to stick around and has become a taxi driver using his Classic 1951 Buick. He was enjoying himself until he found a dead body in his trunk. Then by the time the police arrived the body had disappeared leaving everyone pretty confused. Trinidad, Bonnie, and Juliette (the sisterhood of exes) team up with a certain hunky nut farmer to try to find the body and the killer before Papa Luis is scooped up and tossed in jail. Trinidad has an interesting life in Upper Sprocket. She and her friends Juliette and Bonnie all managed to marry and divorce the same man and then became best friends, a sisterhood of exes. Trinidad is trying to build a new life for herself with her Shimmy and Shake Shop and serving her special "freak shakes". Her Papa Luis has moved to town and moved in to keep an eye on her. She also has a lovable dog named Noodles with some extraordinary skills. Yodeling is not really one of those skills but he gives it a good shot. She is not sure if she is ready to open her heart to another romance but local nut farmer Quinn is definitely interested. I can't forget Chief of Police Cynthia Bigley, who just happens to be the sister of Trinidad, Juliette, and Bonnie's ex.  All the characters Ms. Mentick has created feel very true to life but the connections they have are very unique. There are all kinds of events going on with Alpenfest but finding a dead body and then losing it definitely was on the calendar. The mystery to solve is very complicated.  When the body is found and identified it is clear the person had made their share of enemies.  It doesn't take long for people to think the death is tied to an old cold case and some new proposed changes to the Upper Sprocket area.  The author serves up some nice twists and turns but I did hone in on the culprit before all the clues fell into place for Trinidad. I did really like the way the reveal and the showdown played out. There was a mini-mystery involving Quinn and his brother Doug that really caught me by surprise. The subplot was very important and I appreciated the way the author handled it. I am interested to see how and if it continues in future books. I do love the whole ice cream theme and the freak shakes sound huge and amazing. There are two recipes that follow the story. Trinidad's Browned Butter Apple Bar Recipe and Cheery Cherry "Do It Yourself" Pickle Jar Ice Cream.  The first I have already copied to try as soon as possible and the second sounds like fun to try with my grandchildren. A Sprinkle in Time is full of a delightfully quirky cast of core characters all wrapped up in an entertaining mystery. I really enjoyed my second visit to Upper Sprocket, Oregon, and can't wait to return soon for Spoon to be Dead set to be released on October 31. It isn't a Halloween mystery though, it will be winter in Upper Sprocket.

It's now or never that you can rent a bike and ride one of the many biking routes that South Delaware has to offer like the Gordon's Pond and Georgetown to Lewes Trail. If you are someone who likes to explore on foot, then take a hike at the Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes which sits at the mouth of Delaware Bay with a coastline spanning 6 miles.

Hamilton Family Wines to be featured at Jack London Village’s Songbird Parlour
Tumblr media
The break from the winter rain and the delightfully unexpected burst of spring weather had Sonoma residents and tourists alike wandering out and about upValley to Glen Ellen.
Nestled amid the shops and restaurants of Jack London Village is Songbird Parlour, an event space that has a dinner gathering open to the public this coming Thursday March 9.
Fried chicken and Bubbles is a unique flavor take on an American standard and bringing in a bit of Japanese style barbecue to it. Chef Nathan Holden has put together a menu that is sure to delight and impress many on Thursday as Songbird aims to please. The wine that will be served is from Hamilton Family Wines. Greg & Lindsay Hamilton have been living their dream of wine making since they met in the early 2000s. “Having had the incredible good fortune to make the move to the heart of the beautiful Sonoma Valley, has inspired our mission for Hamilton Family wines,” Lindsay said. “It’ simple, she emphasized, to make wines that we love and that showcase this amazing place.”

“Everything starts and ends with our love for our local community,” said General Manager, Brandy Aviña. Songbird is also about the artisans, farmers, and winemakers that provide us with some of the best food and drink in the world.”
“Whether we’re throwing one of our famous dinner parties like the one this Thursday March 9 she said, or a professionally-designed wedding celebration, we always aim to celebrate our local culture and create space to gather and make memories within it.”
People driving by often don’t know Jack London Village is there “because the tranquility of the rural highway often leads visitors to think it’s just vineyards and rustic open spaces; it’s easy to miss the turn off,” said Aviña.
“There’s so much more that we here at Songbird are aiming to do” said Aviña. “And to work with our fellow shops and restaurants in this little complex to provide a unique experience for both tourists and locals is important to us,” she added.
To learn more about Songbird Parlour and to attend the Fried Chicken & Bubbles dinner Thursday evening, March 9, visit the Songbird website.
