i love the egg child part of the qsmp so much i just need to put it into words. it’s such a smart idea for how to make sure the server stays active — it’s not an activity requirement, but if you don’t take care of your egg, it will die. theoretically, you could just let your egg die and you can let someone else take care of it when you aren’t free to join. but people fall in love with their little pixel children and then they WANT to be active, it’s not an obligation they have to fill but something their consistently excited to do.
and having the parents be an english streamer and a spanish streamer is such a good way to make sure they all interact with each other across the language barrier. sure, there is some in-game translation to make things easier, but they also end up talking on discord to coordinate childcare and in the screenshots we’ve seen i think it’s so interesting how they’ll often speak the other person’s language rather than just picking one to both use or only using their own. co-parenting also gives them the basis for building up strong and unique relationships between the streamers themselves and their qsmp characters, which would’ve been much harder to develop without being given a starting point given the language barrier.
it’s just so clear how much thought quackity has put into this server and it’s so fun to watch everyone fall in love with their little egg children

Me too I am heart broken he was my guy. The one with a cool head. Who told Philza to shut up about the Will Smith situation and defended will smith defending Jaida. He was the guy who told people Dream was busy be patient. He was the guy who as I mentioned earlier asked Jack to not call out Dream. And he's the one who gushed about loving Dream and being greatful for Dream and said he doesn't feel like he gives Dream enough credit. And said just this year he was so excited to meet Dream and his sister. And to see George again. And to play minecraft with Dream. And do all these things that Dream helped him accomplish. So yeah it fucking sucks that he chose now and of all topics to throw back Dream's time energy advice and love into his face

What happened to techno is truly saddening, but he’s truly in a better place now.
But there is one thing i would like to mention. Later on in the dsmp lore, techno mentioned how tommy was Theseus, but in all honesty techno fit that story even better.
If you don’t know what the story of theseus is, well lettme give you a summary.
the story of theseus is about a amazing hero from Greek mythology who was considered one of the earliest kings of athens. He is known for killing villains, amazons and the minotaur, as well as many other small battles.
Techno really fits his story the best. Techno was/is known for being of of the best minecraft youtubers there is, which in my opinion he will forever be.
Techno truly did a lot on his journey. Here on this post, i’m going to kinda compare it to his favored greek hero.
Techno is some ways did defeat his version of the Minotaur. Dream. Think about it. In theseus, the minotaur was known of its evil, and how it ruthlessly slayed anyone who dare enter its labyrinth. In ways dream was similar. He is known for his manhunts, quick thinking, and how he plays Minecraft.
In theseus story, theseus claimed he would defeat the minotaur — similar to that of who techno promised to his fans — and would return home glorious. So doing what they both said, they gathered their gear and readied to fight the fight.
Theseus came to the heart of the Labyrinth and also upon the sleeping Minotaur. The beast awoke and a tremendous fight then occurred. Theseus overpowered the Minotaur with his strength and stabbed the beast in the throat with his sword. Techno did this exact same thing. Meeting dream and overpowering him with his own strength and mind.
While in the end of the story of theseus and the minotaur did not happen, techno did return glorious to his friends and family.
But this is not all. Techno did many other great feats, some of which he did subtly or not subtly brag about (dream losing be one of them). Techno faces many other challenges like theseus. Carefully crafting and securing many titles and honors. For example, theseus became a king and techno blade became a god. Both were known for their abilities in combat, but loved for their compassion and honor. Loved for their will to never leave an ally behind, no matter the costs, and to stand up for what they thought the right.
There are ways technoblade was greater than theseus. Dozens of ways actually. Never giving a second thought to help friends, always helping others, and not turning his back on people even when they did.
Technoblade was a great man, and even greater gamer. He shall stand in the ranks with the greek hero’s.
May he find honor and glory in the halls of Valhalla. May odin accept you with the greatest honors and gifts

Hi......If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....

gonna go from lowest to highest so 7-1. Also this is based off of a mix of how much I enjoy/enjoyed the media and how good it actually is.
Number 7: Dsmp. The thing is a hot mess but it changed me enough as a person for me to put it up here. I literally got my main name that I use from c!Tommy. Wilbur's storyline in the early stages of the server is really good and I think everyone can agree that the Exile arc is a horrifically real depiction of abuse for a Minecraft server that wasn't supposed to be roleplay originally.
Number 6: Bungou Stray Dogs. Some of the most likeable characters. Like genuinely there's maybe two characters I hate in the show. I'm not particularly a big fan of the plot or the mystery stuff but I enjoy the characters enough to put it here.
Number 5: Generation Loss. Good ass horror project. Extremely creative and I am proud to have been a fan since it was just a concept Ranboo was talking about on a late night stream. I usually dislike live action stuff but this is an exception.
Number 4: Omori. One of my favorite videos games I've played. The art is perfect. I literally have a screenshot from the game as my desktop. Black space is one of my favorites sections from any video game. Also the story is great.
Number 3: Jujutsu kaisen. What I'm currently obsessed with. It has problems and I wish there were more important female characters but I enjoy the world building and damn near every character. Mahito has to be one of my favorite villain characters. I hate him but I can't help from love him from a writing perspective.
Number 2: Mob Psycho 100. Great story, stunning animation, good characters. One of the few pieces of media that have successfully made me cry (actually thinking about it a good percent of the things on this list have made me cry lmao)

Chainsaw Man. If you can handle all the heavy topics it handles you should read it. If you aren't fully on board and are okay with spoilers watch the Super Eyepatch Wolf video about Chainsaw Man cause he makes all my points of why i love the show.

so yeah this originally started bc an old friend of mine and i were talking and i forget who suggested it but we were like "hey wouldn't tommyinnit as link be so funny? because tommyinnit is like the exact opposite kind of feral-energy of botw link. loud and swears and uncontrollable and headstrong. hylia's most annoying hero." and things just devolved from there. it's fully a Crack Treated Seriously situation because i spent actual months working out lore n worldbuilding and whatnot fhdjskhfdk.
the fic is officially called Well, Excuuuuuuuse Me, Big Man: The BotW AU No One Asked For (or WEMBM for short)
basic layout (as far as i went with it anyway):
tommy more-or-less follows the order of what you're "supposed" to do to to beat the game: plateau->kakariko->hateno->kakariko again->four main regions->master sword->ganon. of course there are a lot of detours and back-tracking and skipping around for hyjinx
main regions/inhabitants are replaced: Zora->Axols (axolotl "hybrids"), Gorons->Piglins, Rito->Elytrians, Gerudo->Enderians
each of the above races have their own cultures that are loosely based off of the game's original counterparts and some mcrp fanon + personal headcanons thrown in. they're customized to incorporate some (mild) minecraft elements!!
old champions: Mipha->Niki, Daruk->Technoblade, Rivali->Philza, Urbosa->Ran (based loosely off of tftsmp Ran, effectively an oc lmao????)
new champions: Sidon->Foolish (Niki's younger brother) and Jack (Niki's best friend), Yunobo->Drista, Teba->Wilbur, Riju->Ranboo
all of their personalities more-or-less remain intact (which is why the fact that i put The Old Man / King Rhoam as Schlatt so fucking funny)
divine beasts keep their names but the creatures change!! Ruta is a glow squid, Rudania is a blaze, Medoh is still a bird (LMAO i might change this because...), Naboris is a phantom
some scattered details
wilbur is both the "new" champion role AND kass' role!! he and tommy meet early on in his journey (at his first visit to Hateno) but tommy doesn't learn about wilbur's heritage (Philza was his great great great grandfather) until MUCH later. they run into each other a lot during their travels.
wilbur also has a hardcore crush on an axol warrior named sally, which tommy teases and embarrasses him relentlessly for
tubbo (zelda-role) keeps zelda's arc of not being able to develop powers. the key difference is that tommy and tubbo are friends before the calamity business starts to get serious, and tubbo's frustration drives a wedge between them
(angst time: clingy duo has a Big Fight during that one sheikah slate Memory on the palace tower bridge, and they never get the chance to apologize to each other before it all goes to shit and tommy dies sacrificing himself to save tubbo.)
techno and phil are old friends from when they'd do colosseum fights together. they haven't talked much for a few years before becoming champions, both too busy with their respective duties at home, but the moment they realize they've both been recruited well, they're inseparable
windbombing, bullet-time bouncing, and shield clipping are canon. don't question it.
champion ran is a dick (think revali) and the only one there they respect is niki because they underestimated her and then she proceeded to floor them during a sparring session (and she didn't even threaten them with a water based attack, it was all skill)
awesamdude (most people call him "sam", he's ranboo's personal guard) has a half brother named awesamnook (most people call him "nook" or "samnook"). he's the Beedle-role and he talks in all caps like an npc ("HELLO TRAVELER." "Why are you shouting---" "HAVE A LOOK AT MY WARES." "Okay---")
bad runs the yiga-equivalent egg cult that, instead of disguising themselves as travelers, simply uses sprouts of blood-red flowers with a toxic pollen to mind-control bystanders into attacking tommy (yikes)

We’ll Meet Again - For the Blood God
Hello readers,
As I am writing this, it has been 3 hours since the announcement of the death of Alex "Technoblade". If you haven't watched his final video and don't plan to, no worries. You are completely valid. For those of you who are grieving alongside the community, it's okay to grieve. I can't begin to imagine how his close friends and his beloved family feel about all this. The pain of losing a loved one, a friend, is unimaginable.
I had always seen myself in Technoblade. Having only been 3 years younger than him and with a similar personality and set of interests, I related easily to him. He helped me learn to accept myself, flaws and all. I must agree with his words, I really am a nerd.
His videos had been a great comfort to me throughout my life. I remember watching him play Skywars on the school laptops the first day of high school as a homeless teen. I remember watching him a year and a half later, my family finally in a home after years. I remember watching him mess with Phil and Tommy with his goons before the pandemic caused a worldwide shutdown. I remember the 2nd Potato War, after I had just turned 18 and my school left for Spring Break, none of us returning. He was there, winning the Minecraft Championship with the rest of SBI, keeping a smile on my face as I prepared for my pandemic graduation. I remember watching him go against Dream for $100,000 during my first semester in college, days after my nephew was born. Even as my college dreams slipped through my fingers, and I felt like a complete failure, his content kept a stupid smile on my face.
The world genuinely lost an amazing person. He has inspired so many, and so many rediscovered their passions and purpose thanks to him. Out of everything he's said, he was right about many things. I miss Technoblade very much, but, true to his word, he never dies. Technoblade never dies because he will forever live in us all. His memory and his impact will live on in the lives that he touched.
It's okay to grieve, it's okay to feel lost. I, for one, am devastated. I have not cried this much and have not felt so much pain since the passing of my grandmother a decade ago. We must remember to get back up again. Even if it feels hard and impossible, we can do it. We much live our lives to the fullest, no regrets. It's what he would have wanted. Continue to write your poems, your stories, your songs. Draw to your heart's content, play new games, cook new foods, try new things. Hug those around you. Tell someone you love them. Look at the stars, learn something new and exciting, help someone out. Life is too short for us to take it for granted.
For those who may not know, there has been merch released in remembrance of Technoblade. A portion of the proceeds will be going towards fighting cancer. You can also directly donate, if you have the means to do so.

So long, my favorite nerd. You have been, and always will be, the one and only Blood God. I can't wait until we meet in the afterlife, so I can thank you and then give you a piece of my mind for that remembrance merchandise. Only you would do such a thing.

im nosy please elaborate hehe (esp on the snf stuff eyes emoji)
you got it 🫡 warning in advance for banter + snf crit but this is all from the perspective of a fan i’m not hating just to hate. and under the cut cause this is everything i’ve been holding in it’s Long
imo the problems with banter boil down to 1) a lack of direction, and 2) that it honestly seems like nobody but karl even gives a shit about it. it doesn’t even need to be a particularly inspired idea to work, just coasting off their dynamic would be fine (i don’t think karl/sap/george is a great combo for this format but that’s not to say it can’t ever work, i’ve enjoyed them in past episodes) but they still need to go into sessions with like…. an idea of what to do. it’s evident in both individual episodes— losing track of the topic ten minutes in, aimless conversations, starting and stopping stories, etc— and the podcast as a whole— celebrity guests seem picked at random with minimal research done, their chris episode that had a chance of being topical didn’t come out until after the general public lost interest, and doing THREE reboots because they keep losing steam after putting out two episodes is just ridiculous (though they’ve been better about that recently, credit where it’s due). their new set actually looks great, i like it a lot, but it doesn’t make their fundamental problems better. and all that would be more excusable if i got the sense that banter was really a passion project for them, but like i said yesterday i just…. don’t think that it is 😭 i do feel like karl genuinely wants to make it work and tries hard. but snf seem like they just said yes because it’s easy for them and they’ve got literally nothing else going on, and at least imo it shows
three guys in their twenties making a mid podcast isn’t the worst thing in the world (in fact it’s healthy for them. enriches their environment) but the reason everyone is so bitter towards it is because it’s ALL we get these days, save for a stream for two every couple weeks. it’s true that banter doesn’t Actually stop them from doing anything else, if they wanted to make content they would make it, but when we hear that group streams have been canceled and snf fly to north carolina a day later that’s still what it feels like! and, maybe most maddeningly, they seem to be under the impression that most of their audience Likes the podcast?? that’s the only explanation i can think of for the hubris of booking a big venue in a low-traffic state just before vidcon with no guests but austin ever announced and the most half assed promotion i’ve ever seen (see my point about not caring). i don’t like them blaming the venue for the cancellation either, i call bs on them being “difficult to work with” and it was almost certainly because of low ticket sales. like honestly, genuinely, did none of you see this coming? it’s incredibly out of touch and even though i like all three of them i can’t help but feel bitter thinking about how the only content we can expect from content creators is something they don’t seem passionate about yet continue to ignore that their audience very resoundingly Does Not Want It
and that brings me to snf’s careers right now as a whole. i don’t have as much to say as i did yesterday cause this anon summed it up so well but it really feels like between dream not micromanaging them anymore, minecraft content in general getting lower views and more creatively burned out, and not being separately stuck inside forced to do Something to stave off the boredom, they just don’t know what to do anymore, so they do nothing (or make seven-minute mr beast videos). dream isn’t the content machine he used to be either but at least with his projects like usmp (🕊) and drusic i can feel like he’s busy with projects he loves and there will be something tangible for me in the future, so i’m more willing to wait and see. and using tommy as another example, he’s done a great job branching out into other avenues and preserving his audience when what he was doing got tired. there’s no reason snf Can’t, they just haven’t. and when i hear about things like them scolding dream for promising us things i’m like ?!? fair i guess, i’d rather not expect anything and not be disappointed, but it’s only not happening because you guys aren’t making it happen. are you really SO busy that you can’t carve out three hours in an afternoon to cook something on stream? (in fairness that could be said about all three) or do you just not want to, and expect your audience to stick around indefinitely like it’s 2020?
and this discussion has been had on tumblr already of course and to be honest i’ve never really agreed with the consensus that it’s entitled to want content from content creators, but just to cover my ass a bit LMAO: this doesn’t bother me day to day, i have life to keep me busy so i just watch something when it interests me and don’t when it doesn’t. i love that dteam seem like friends first and business partners second and i would rather preserve that than grind content! but all the same i don’t think it’s wrong as fans to be critical of what people we like are (or aren’t) putting out but as always yk feel free to chime in with agreements or disagreements or whatever i am a greek forum for minecraft youtubers

Hello! I have autism and I have a question. How is C!Tommy autism-coded? I really really need to know. I just love autism head-canons! Especially if they are accurate and great. Thank you. -This curious anon.
I mean, I'm not sure I'd say autism coded, bc it’s pretty clearly unintentional (though it’s great), but I do think there’s a lot of traits of c!Tommy that can be interpreted as autistic!
First and foremost, his attachments! He grows truly and deeply attached to people and things, places and routines, and as someone with autism, that’s something I can relate to heavily, and it’s something I’ve seen a lot of fellow autistic people experience. Attachments like this can be a way to get through an ever changing world. They're comforting and reliable and something that can stay the same, in a good way.
c!Tommy's issues with acting inappropriately or in an “annoying” way are something I can personally heavily relate to, because at least in my case it comes from struggling to understand social rules. Difficulty knowing what language is appropriate where, cutting people off, going on weird tangents, being very loud (because I struggle controlling my tone), stuff like that is stuff I do and it’s stuff c!Tommy frequently does.
Stimming!!! c!Tommy tends to walk around a lot, fiddle with what items he's holding, and stuff like that, which could be interpreted in universe as stimming (though it could also be a lot of other things- minecraft body language is very easy to interpret into a lot of differing ways!)
c!Tommy's tendency to seek direction and follow others is something I personally can also relate to a lot. Making choices is something I really struggle with, because it takes me a long amount of time to process them properly, so I find it much easier to follow instructions and people than to lead on my own. c!Tommy himself is an excellent leader, but he finds doing what he's told much easier and more comforting- and that’s not a bad thing! Not unless it’s exploited by others. Cough cough Exile Arc.
c!Tommy's tendency towards aggressive behaviour when severely triggered in some manner is quite reminiscent to a meltdown. While physically harmful behaviour is typically seen in younger people to my knowledge (I engaged in it a lot when I was younger and had to work hard to overcome it), if c!Tommy hasn’t had intervention to help him cope (which he clearly hasn’t) he might still retain them.
He's canonically got severe sensory issues. I mean yeah they’re from his murder but also that’s so autismcore.

Seeing people air out their grievances and wanted to join in
I used to genuinely enjoy quackity, I thought he was hilarious and loved the content. But something I really enjoyed about the 2020/2021 era was just the rawness of it all. The roleplay that was improvised and done on the spot, the jackbox streams and just the general chaotic vibes
But the produced lore felt like it lost some of the magic. It didn't feel like dsmp anymore, it felt like something completely different and don't get me wrong it's cool
But I feel like at some point he lost the plot. That the thing that made those first few lore arcs and those constant late night random streams so special was how we watched the streamers just have fun and not worry about the quality.
And then suddenly every stream had to have a gimmick. He couldn't just go live anymore, it had to be special and cool and fun instead of just happening.
No other streamer forgot that. Dream did that random alt stream where he played a random game and chatted, tommy recently brought out his 3ds, George just goes live and does stuff, Sapnap plays a lot of valo, tubbo does whatever interests him etc etc etc
But not quackity
He moved onto these heavily produced things and then forgot about the authenticity that made us love the early days so much and the thing that still draws the audience in day after day and stream after stream
And for some reason, this is only an English thing for him. The spanish community still gets those play Minecraft and vibe streams
i also enjoyed quackity i used to watch him all the time and i always thought he was literally the definition of chaos 😂 i felt like him and karl were kind of responsible for really bringing george out of his shell too which i loved. and the best lore streams were definitely the ones that were purely live with a lot of improv 😂
i have noticed regarding the stream thing he never really did any chill/random english ones anymore - the english ones were a lot more preplanned and less frequent. this one is a tricky thing because obviously that's totally fair like if he enjoyed streaming in spanish more then that's great. if he prefers the spanish community then that's great. like he doesn't owe it to anyone to have to stream in english anymore at all if he didn't want to. but he did build up a massive community that didn't speak spanish and i imagine it's probably been quite sad for those guys to not be able to get that much content they can enjoy live anymore. but it is what it is
regardless of all of that, if his streaming persona changes then that's cool but i just don't get what happened to make him so okay with losing such close friends and blatantly ignoring a situation that was clearly quite hard for them??

When Tommy lets himself expand and be bold he’s so great. Like the sorry boys content is amazing, everyone who knows him his vlogs were immensely well done and most older fans preferred it to his minecraft content, that animated video was one of the funniest things he’s ever made imo, even the mod videos are usually pretty creative and new when they do come out. And ofc podcast Tommy is lovely to listen to.
As someone who still watches Tommy and has for probably way too long, It’s like there’s two of him, one that’s doing amazing and creative things and one that’s stuck in his childhood along with the sellout youtuber mindset. When he says something that makes people upset he’ll address it the next time he streams but when it’s about anyone else he ignores it.
Oh yeah absolutely. Like, Tommy's vlogs were real comfort videos for me ngl, he is good at entertainment and he knows what he's doing.
If he actually would let the dsmp go and focus more on his own projects he'd actually get pretty far. I think it's like. Yeah idk, he got popular pretty fast. And to see the numbers go down after he dropped out is probably very concerning and worrying, which I get. That's completely normal, but clinging on what he knows and what worked before will not work now and he needs to realize that.
Doing another dsmp finale won't change shit and honestly will cause even more ex fans to get annoyed with him etc.
He needs to focus on the present and the future instead of clinging to the past.

did you follow any mcyt in your language before starting to watch smps in english? I remember fondly a parody cover of they're taking the hobbits to isengard from the non-english duo I followed
I don't think so. We didn't have many Portuguese MCYT creators and I was never much into listening to Brazilian creators. We had Fer0m0nas when I was a kid but I didn't really watch him a lot. My brother did watch him a bit but even he didn't watch him that much.
A lot of them were really loud and chaotic which I never really liked that much. (It did get me a bit to get into Tommy even as an adult, for example... And I can't watch Tommy's vlogs even today, even if I love his Minecraft streams when he's with his friends). (Grian can be loud and yes he is chaotic but not in his video style or when he's speaking to the audience. The style is more laid back which I enjoy a lot more).
So no. I would've loved them if I had found some that liked but even today I have yet to see a real portuguese MCYT with content that is a bit more mature. And by mature I don't mean "says curse words and makes sexual comments" I mean has a content that is entertaining and maybe even educational without making you feel like you're watching something for a 6 year old.
Hermitcraft is an all ages series. It sometimes as more mature jokes but over they really are a PG (Parental Guidance) series that younger kids can watch but adults can very much appreciate too with great building, role playing that isn't too dense and plenty of choices for a creator you want to watch. The Dream SMP which I also loved is not an all ages series.... Even if there were definitely a lot of kids watching.... but had the guts to explore difficult and mature topics like depression, abuse and others (and did them mostly right... Except for the ending of course). You also have a lot of choices for creators. For solo people I watched Fundy a lot even before the big Dream SMP stuff because I love the doing weird things with Minecraft via programming. I also watch PhoenixFC and there's some others with this type of content I enjoy.
I have also never seen a Portuguese MCYT that is a woman. I know there are Brazilian women MCYTs but portuguese? I've never seen one. It's also really difficult to find Portuguese creators. I did a search for Portuguese streamers on Twitch and I couldn't find a good list or commentaries by anyone. The only way I manage to find Portuguese streamers is by following RTP Arena AKA the Esports staff of the Official National Portuguese Television or occasionally one streamer appears in a Portuguese YouTube channel dedicated the European Youth matters which is most likely related to the Erasmus+ programme and makes some interviews with various young adults.
The lack of the organisation of the Portuguese streaming and YouTube community makes for a more challenging experience for the viwers who have to do work if they want to actually find someone they enjoy.
There's also the fact that since a lot of us speak English fairly well we may do content in English which again— makes things difficult if I want to find you. And sometimes I want to hear Portuguese from Portugal you know?
I once had to research Portuguese Content creators of various categories for an organisation and the pain I had to find good gaming stuff... you have a decent shooting games CCs but for any other types of games? Well, if they exist they're not easy to find. There are some variety game streamers there's very few belonging to just a gaming community.

Basically, Passerine is the most popular fanfic on Ao3 under Dream SMP Fandom. It has 2738783 hits and 78457 kudos as of right now. It's only 7 chapters long, but has a word count of 76,375, so it's basically a long road of pain and misery. The story is detached from Dream SMP entirely, the only things tying this story to the fandom are characters and headcanons about them. The author took one of the most prominent and beloved groups from Dream SMP fandom called SBI - Sleepy Bois Inc, which consists of Wilbur Soot, Technoblade, Philza Minecraft and Tommyinnit, as the main characters. The headcanons which were used as the base for this story are that Philza is a ruler of Antarctic Empire, he and Technoblade are immortals and they closely know each other, and Phil has two sons - Wilbur and Tommy, who are decidedly not immortal...
It's been a little while since I read it, but I can say that this story revolves around found family and a lot of tragedy. It's honestly a wild ride and I loved every second of it. The ending left all the readers absolutely floored. It's a fanfic which reached outside of it's fandom with just how brilliant it is. You can read it while not being in the fandom and still understand everything abd feel for the characters. If you ever find yourself looking for something to read, I definitely recommend it.
This fanfic even reached a lot of content creators on Dream SMP, and they read it and complimented how great it is. There is also a TON of fanart for it along with the biggest number of animatics, I've ever seen for a fanfiction. That also includes an entire animatic from the most famous artist in Dream Smp community - SAD-ist.
(I also apologize for any mistakes in grammar and punctuation because I'm not native English speaker, and I also tend to make a lot of mistakes when a happy-ramble about something I'm passionate about)
Some of these writers should just write an original book, I swear haha. I don't know if I'll check it out, but maybe someone here wants to! It does sound like tropes people here go wild for :}
Also I love English non-native speakers because you guys tend to use perfect grammar and punctuation and then I can't make half sense of what native speakers type sometimes.
Never mind what my Japanese or Spanish typing looks like lmao I think I resorted once to saying "the honey bug" for bee when talking to someone.

I usually don’t share my thought on much of anything on the internet, but seeing how negative people, especially on Twitter are about Dream smp ending really rubbed me the wrong way.
I want to preface this by saying that this is all coming from my subjective experience and taste. You have complete right to disagree with me, I would love to have a conversation.
It feels like no matter what the ccs would have done, people would have been unsatisfied, because it seems like people had huge expectations for a silly minecraft roleplay server. I feel like if we look back at the lore streams themselves, they were never serious with maybe the exeption of exile and even then exile had plenty of goofing around, which people forget in favour of dramatic scenes. The fandom ourselves being angsty and hyperfocusing on those scenes does not help either.
Like with a lot of things the problem is that people take everything too seriously, at least regarding the ending, not the abuse portrayal (I have no experience with it, so I can't speak on it). I’ve consumed a lot of media in my life and spent a lot of time dwelling on how things could have been better. And don’t get me wrong, being able to critique is a usefull skill that helps us learn on other writer’s mistakes. But also being able to enjoy things not for what they could have been but for what they are made my life so much better.
It’s kinda funny how people say that the ending was rushed and dragged out simultaneously. Was it rushed? Personally, I don’t think so. Were lore streams far and few between? Yes. But also I don’t wish for them to have streamed everyday, like during quarantine. Again, personally, I have a full-time job, personal life and other interests and hobbys, so I wouldn’t be able to keep up.
I understand, that people probably wanted something grandiose, that involved every person on the server. But I have the feeling that it was simply not possible. I understand people being upset that Techno’s house is gone. I am too. But even if it was around, we almost never would've see it in lore. I'm content with going back to older vods and seeing both the house and Techno preserved in that small window in time. Unchanged. Forever.
What I don't understand is people on Twitter posting shit like "abuse apoligism??!!" And oh boy I'm gonna bite someone's fingers off. No, not it's not. People have already said this but I'll repeat for thr people in the back. Sympathy =/= forgiveness. Different people will have different interpretations of Tommy's last words. I saw the sorry as "I'm sorry things had to be this way" when he realized him and Dream ultimately wanted the same thing. It's this bitter realization that if things went differently they could have had happy lives. Or it could be "Sorry I have to kill you, I didn't want to kill anybody in the first place". It can be different things and forgiveness is not one of them. You think a guy who, just a few days prior, scolded c!Dream apologists will have his character forgive his abuser? Guys, please, have more faith in him than that, jeez.
I don't know which one it is: viewer's either a) inability to engage with media critically and taking everything on a surface level or b) willingness to engage with media and ccs in worst faith baffles me, either way.
There are also sentiments floating around that fans' time and energy, that they put into supporting the story over the past 2,5 years, was somehow 'wasted' by an unsatisfactory ending. Sure you can dislike it, but it shouldn't and does not take away from the fun and enjoyment we collectively had in that time period. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.
Regarding the nukes, it's great that they used an already established pieces of lore, instead of pulling something out of their asses or going with a Deus Ex Machina. Admittedly, I haven't kept up with Tubbo lore, from what I've seen the nukes got stolen and they dropped the storyline, so to bring them back in an impactful way creates nice continuity.
I also understand from what I've seem that people wanted a good ending. That after all that suffering the characters deserved a nice happy live. I've got nothing to say on that, I enjoy angst. It has a right to exist.
And I understand the ccs wanting to flip over a new leaf, instead of letting everyone live and continuing with their characters. Yes, people have emotional attachments to these characters, but if they stayed in the same world they would've had to navigate through 2 years of lore and relationships that have accumulated and viewers would have been not happy if they got that lore wrong. So starting over allows them to have new storylines, new relationships without having to trip over preexisting convoluted mess that is dsmp lore. Everything has to end. Let's let go.
On that note, what upsets me is that a lot of lore streams are fucking lost media now. I loove how Wilbur made his lore videos, they're bite sized and easy to follow. I was trying to pick out important exile streams recently and god damn it's impossible. There will be them joking around, one important line and then another hour of not really important stuff, I swear.
In conclusion: let's enjoy thing for what they are and engage with media in good faith please. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

every time I think what we could have had with ctnt duo I just grit my teeth n have to walk for a bit. like it would have been a call back to c!quackity n c!tommy being the people who were able ti talk c!wilbur out of blowing up l’manberg (temporarily but whatever). instead we get c!ranboo in c!Quackity’s lore like ye cranboo is great but he basically has zero connection with cquackity.
my jaw is clenched so fucking hard over this lol. but yeah. i do think cq and cranboo had some interesting bits with the outpost disagreement, and in general its a dynamic i dont find to be total dogshit (and enjoy expanding on between latenightmining and casinoroyale, ferns an amazing roleplayer) but for canon it just doesnt make sense to me to have cranboo there for the finale. especially if ctubbo isnt there. especially if ctommy isnt there. hes just not important to las nevadas!
and imo thats by the ccs own writing choices, im genuinely surprised theyre letting him take part after the ho16 and prison stream multi cranboo timeline death fiascos. well and i'd love to know how did ranboo got time to do lore with quackity when wilbur was completely ignored lol. man how the hell did cranboo take priority. like you said, there are just far more important dynamics cquackity has. at this point my biggest nightmare is that the lore is going to turn into the cranboo show. a lot like the prison stream did. and never should have.
to clarify i don't hate ccranboo. at all. that'd be weirdchamp especially over minecraft roleplay if all things. but i do disagree with the direction his character has gone and how it's impacted the people he's been directly involved with. like wilbur. and i also have a lot of faith in ccquackity as a storyteller! im sure the stream will have a lot of good
honestly i've been really disappointed though with the direction the dsmp as a whole has gone as of late. i'm really not someone who's hard to please with the stories i enjoy. i'm really not someone who's often this critical of lore. but it's all felt so fucking rushed recently. i'm disappointed wilbur couldn't have waited a few days for quackity. i'm disappointed they're rushing themselves under this non-existent time constraint that nobody wants. i'm just disappointed. not everyone feels the same as me, but if i had to choose between waiting until the end of the year for cwilbur's conclusion and having it be NOT rushed and complete vs what we got. i would've happily waited.
