#like do I think tik tok is a good app for children? no it’s an exploitative app designed to keep u on it and spend money on it

I just got a Spotify ad from meta that said Instagram is ‘working with congress to pass federal regulations on children 16 and younger’s ability to download apps of the App Store without their parental permission’
like they the app store already has age restrictions on every app and you have to have an icloud/google account with a birth date associated to download it… like there are already apps for parents to control kids phone time… like you can just teach your children about internet safety….
If your kid hides something from you it’s because you made them not trust you to handle it respectfully and fairly… how would they even enforce this? what kids need is not LESS rights from the government
maybe I’m being paranoid but I feel like stuff like this is somehow connected to either trans/gay rights (“protecting your children from being influenced on the internet”) or consumer privacy rights (how would they genuinely enforce this in a way they don’t already? ie making you put in your birthday or have an account with a birth date associated with it. are they gonna make u upload your id or something?)

…………………………………………………………………
Alex was trying to concentrate. He had one shot at this and prepared himself as he watched the timer countdown. He only had a few seconds to do this so he knew he had to be perfect. He watched as the timer counted down, 3, 2, 1, go. He let the first pendulum swing then the second, but then he fumbled the third one. Two of the pendulums crashed together and he lost the game. Alex tried again, but with the same results, and groaned at his failures.
This stupid game was getting the better of him. He was a surgeon, he was supposed to have quick fingers and know how to keep time. The fifteen-year-old nonbinary teen, Luca, in the bed next to him, giggled as Alex grumbled and tried again. This time he got all the swinging in time, and the fourth one went before the two collided and he lost again. Luca snorted but had the decency to cover their mouth.
Alex grunted as he handed the phone back to Luca. “Since when does Tic Tok have games anyway? I thought it was just like a dancing-storytelling version of Vine?” Alex asked as he crossed his arms.
“Oh please like you don't have a TikTok Dr. Alex,” Lucas said as they shook their head. “And it's a multi-purpose social media app. I even get news on here.”
“Whatever,” Alex said as he waved it off. “Can I take a look at your scar now?”
“Yeah,” Luca said, rolling up their gown as Alex saw the scar on their side.
The incision was healing nicely after the repair for blunt force trauma to their abdomen nearly ripped apart their liver. Although they had to take the right lobe out, the left lobe of the liver was recovering nicely and would regenerate the right lobe soon enough. Luca was healing up nicely, inside and out and they had gotten their strength and humor back. Link had worked with him in surgery as they reset the teen’s leg and grabbed the Doppler to check the blood flow, seeing that all was good.
“Well, I think we're on track to discharge you tomorrow and you can go home,” Alex said with a smile.
“Really?” Luca asked, perking up as they smiled.
“Yup, you should get out of here, it’s been long enough,” Alex said as he knew how much Luca wanted to go home and hated being away from friends and their mom.
They had been airlifted here from Gold Bar after they were in a car crash with their father who was recovering in the general ward. Their mom worked and couldn’t make it in every day and their friends could only visit once. Alex had heard Owen's plan to discharge their father tomorrow and figured he’d see if Luca could go home as well.
Alex put the Doppler away as Luca pulled up tik tok on their phone again. “Wanna play again before you go and see if you can beat it?”
Before Alex could say yes, the door swung open and one of the interns, Yasuda ran in. Alex turned, annoyed at how she had rushed in, but when he saw the look on her face he paused. It was a look of worry that meant someone he loved was hurt and his heart stopped.
“Dr Karev, it's your wife.”
…………………………………………………………………
Alex raced down the hallway like an intern running after an incoming trauma. As soon as Yasuda said that Jo had fainted, he ran off to find her. He was desperate to get to his wife. He had to see if she and their baby were alright. He knew realistically that they would be, but he had to see it for himself.
He ran up to the maternity ward first, before running down to the ORs, knowing that was where they were coming from. He eventually found them as Carina was pushing Jo in a wheelchair with one of the newer OB interns beside her. Alex quickly raced up to them and they paused for a second as he finally reached her. Despite seeing her, there was still a tightness in his chest as he knelt in front of her. Jo gave him a tired smile, looking up from where she was holding her 26 week pregnant bump and an ice pack against her forehead.
“I'm okay,” Jo promised, although she looked up at him with weary eyes.
“Like hell you are,” Alex said, cupping her cheek with his hand and holding her bump with his other hand. “What happened? How did you hit your head? Are you dizzy? Did you throw up?”
“Hey,” Jo said, getting him to focus on her again as she looked into his eyes. “I'm fine. The baby’s fine, I promise.”
Sill, Alex looked up at Carina who gave him a reassuring smile. “Rest assured Dr. Karev, Jo and your baby are alright. She was faint from standing for a long uterine abrasion surgery and she only hit her head on a tray as she was trying to get up on her own. Apart from a small bump on her head, she is fine.”
Alex nodded as Jo let him move the ice pack so he could see the small red mark on her hairline. “You're okay?”
“I’m okay,” Jo assured him with a smile, as much as she said she hated everyone fussing over her, she secretly loved to be taken care of by him, especially while pregnant.
“I thought we said no fainting in ORs this time around,” Alex said with a slight smile despite his lingering worry.
“I know,” Jo looked up at him with a matching small smile, and he could see fatigue in her eyes.
“Why don’t you take the rest of the day off and go home to rest,” Alex insisted as he took over punishing her wheelchair as they continued down the hallways again.
“It’s already approved,” Carina agreed with a nod.
“No,” Jo insisted as she looked up at them.
Alex and Carina exchanged a look as both of them paused for a second before they both opened their mouths to protest. However, Jo quickly cut them off.
“I’m fine, I promise and I’ll take it easy for the rest of the day,” Jo said as she looked at them insistently. “I'll take a break and go get something to eat and drink. I'll go visit the girls and then I'll do paperwork, nothing too strenuous.”
“Josephine, I don't think this is very wise,” Carina said, her eyebrows knitted together as she placed a hand on Jo’s shoulder. “And as your doctor and your superior, I am urging you to go home.”
“I don't want to go home and be bored for the next four hours until Alex and the girls get there,” Jo lamented with a frown.
“Jo please just take it easy, for your sake and the baby's sake!” Alex pleaded with her, getting mad that she would rather stress herself out than relax at home.
“The baby and I are fine!” Jo said as she went to get up, despite both of their protests as they tried to keep her seated and she managed to stand up strong. “I am fine.”
Jo walked away from them and Alex let out a deep sigh. He pinched his nose as Carina just shook her head and put her hand on her hips. They never understood why she did this. He knew she hated being lonely, and her anxiety rose especially while pregnant, but this was beyond that.
“I’ll at least keep an eye on her and make sure she does desk work, checking in patients, calls, and chart work, but no work on any active labors or C-sections,” Carina said as she shrugged, they both knew by now that Jo would still try and deliver babies. It was what she lived for.
“I'll stay with her for now and if she gets faint again, I'll take her home,” Alex nodded as Carina agreed with their plan.
Carina went back down the hall to the OR to finish the surgery while Alex looked back to Jo. She was walking away and he had to jog to catch up with her. When he did, he put a hand on her back as he fell in step with her. Jo smiled at him, as she knew she had won.
They both took a lunch and went down to the cafeteria. They got something to eat and drink as she rested with her feet up on an extra chair. He watched her closely, but she seemed alright and was even eager to chase the girls around. They pulled them out of daycare for a bit as they got some cuddles and hung out in Alex’s office before they took them back.
After they said goodbye to the girls, they walked back up to the maternity ward. Carina was waiting for her and Jo sat down in a chair at the nurse's station. Carina presented her with a stack of charts to work on and Jo scowled at the tower of paperwork she had.
“You could always just go home?” Alex said, looking down at her as he leaned on the counter.
“No, I’m good,” Jo said as she plastered on a smile, opened the first file, and logged into the computer
“Alright,” Alex as he stood there a little longer, wishing for an excuse to stay.
Jo glanced over at him with a light glare, telling him to go. His phone dinged and Alex pulled it out as he sighed. He was being paged to the ER for a consult but looked back at his pregnant wife.
“Go, I'll be fine,” Jo said again with a light smile.
He almost believed her, but there was something inside of him that told him he needed to worry about her. Still, he looked down at the page and knew that he had to go. He leaned down and kissed her cheek. Jo smiled before she reached up to grasp his chin as she turned to kiss his lips.
“Promise me, you’ll page me if you even feel the slightest bit sick,” Alex insisted as he watched her.
“I promise,” Jo said and he knew she was resisting the urge to roll her eyes. “But don't worry I'm in good hands.”
Jo looked back at the nurses who all smiled back at her and nodded, reassuring him. If he couldn’t look after her, the nurses were the second best thing.
“Alright, I'll see you later,” Alex said as he reluctantly turned around and walked away.
…………………………………………………………………
Later that afternoon Alex walked back to the Maternity ward and saw Jo standing at the nurse's station. He couldn't shake the feeling of worry he had for her and decided to take an extra break to go check on her. Although he had heard from the nurses that she was fine and grumbling about the paperwork.
When he spotted her, Jo was speaking to a few of the new interns and the nurses. Alex smiled as he approached her. At 26 weeks pregnant, Jo had a sizable bump under her black scrub shirt, and he loved admiring it. She had both of her hands on her back, rubbing in small circles and he reached out to rub her back for her. As Alex put his hand on her back, Jo looked up at him with hazy eyes and leaned into him as she began to waver.
“Jo, Jo,” Alex said as her eyes fluttered shut and he quickly wrapped his arms around her and held her.
“I'm fine, I didn’t pass out,” Jo said, putting a hand on her head as she took a few deep breaths. “I'm just a little light headed.”
“Get me a chair!” Alex yelled at them as they all jumped into action.
The intern quickly turned and scrambled around as they tried to grab one of the chairs that were connected to a line of other chairs from the waiting room. The nurses were smarter and quickly gave him the rolling chair from behind the desk and helped him ease Jo into it.
Alex pulled out his stethoscope and gave her a once-over. Her heart sounded fine, her lungs sounded good too. But as he put his hand on her forehead, she felt hot.
“Is there anything I can get you, Dr. Karev?” One of the interns asked.
“No, now scram,” Alex said, knowing Jo didn’t like a crowd fussing over her and they all quickly left them alone.
“I hate this,” Jo said, rubbing her forehead.
“I know,” Alex gave her a sad smile as he knelt down in front of her and reached up to cup her cheek. “What's going on Jo?”
“I'm not feeling so good,” Jo admitted with a sigh. “I think I'm coming down with a cold or something.”
“Why didn’t you tell me or Carina?”
“I didn't want you to worry, I'm sorry,” Jo said as she frowned and tears sprung in her eyes.
“I’m always going to worry about you, but if I know what's going on then I can help you,” Alex said as he rubbed her cheek with his thumb.
“I know,” Jo cried as she covered her face with her hand. “It just makes me feel like I can't do my job or anything and I didn’t want to be admitted like last time where everyone was there and they all found out I was pregnant. It was fun to celebrate it, but I hated being fussed over.”
“I know you hate it, but you need to be fussed over because you’re not feeling well. You're clearly running a fever and I know you're tired. And don't pretend that you don't have a runny nose, because I know you have tissues stuffed in your pockets.”
“My throat hurts too,” Jo admitted as her voice started to sound a little horse.
“I’m sorry, Jo,” Alex said with a sigh as he frowned.
Now that she was in the second trimester her pregnancy symptoms had eased up. However it came with new symptoms, she still had insomnia and she struggled to sleep. This often left her tired and in need of a daily nap alongside their toddlers. She was also dealing with heartburn and round ligament pain. Now that she was sick he couldn’t imagine how much worse she felt.
“Come on, let's go home,” Alex said, putting his arm around her as he helped her up.
“Okay,” Jo said as for once she didn't protest and leaned into him.
“Thank you,” Alex said as he reached around to hold her bump and they walked together towards the resident’s lounge.
“Will you make me mac and cheese for dinner?” Jo asked, looking up at him with pleading eyes.
“Of course,” Alex agreed, despite how they’d had twice in the past week he knew the girls loved it just like their Mama.
“Thank you,” Jo said as she leaned in and kissed his cheek and he tried not to blush at her affection.
Jo did as she was told, for once, and went home. They let Carina and Hayes know they were leaving and Alex took a bit of work home with him. Then they went and got the girls from daycare and headed home. When they got there, her nose started running even more and she opened up the cough drops. He took her temperature and she was 100.9° F.  Alex just raised an eyebrow at her as Jo ignored his eyes. She did stay home the next day and the day after that. After a few days in bed, Jo recovered from her cold. Then she was back to her usual self, even her pregnancy symptoms eased up, and Alex’s worry disappeared…
Until a week later.

After your post, I thought how many ideas Tik Tok gives.
Naruto.
Shino is so shy and sees all sorts of cute couple videos or videos on how to seduce an alpha. And he wants all this too, but he can't. Use ninjutsu for work no, use it so your shy omega doesn't have to explain anything to you yes.
Kiba sees a video of puppies and children and gets baby fever. Or he does a tik tok with alpha pranks.
Naruto could see different things for the nest and want them. Or see diy and want to repeat them with alpha in order to do something together for his nest.
obey me
Somehow the alpha showed a human tik tok and all the demons got hooked on it.
Beelzebub is my favorite so I think he has seen a lot of food videos and I would have to repeat it all for him to try.
Leviathan would watch anime clips and save the ones he wanted to watch. Separate those that he wanted to see with alpha.
We could send him cute videos with compliments or excerpts from anime and write it with us to make him embarrassed.
I think Asmo himself would run an account with makeup and personal care, sometimes posting a couple challenge.
mystic messenger
Alpha can help Zen start an account with songs, maybe videos from rehearsals. I think this could help him become even more popular.
Yoosung would probably find double games that he wanted to play with the alpha. And I can't stop thinking that he's sending videos to the alpha "send this video to the alpha and let him choose" or all sorts of funny videos while sitting next to him.
I decided to share my thoughts.
I also wanted to thank you for your creativity, I'm about to graduate from university and your blog helps me relax
Yes! I love this! Omegaverse Tiktok headcanons are great XD
Shino - Yes! He sees all these cute relationship challenges and cute date ideas and he really wants to try them, but he won't bring them up because he's embarrassed 🤭 He might make a mini playlist if you ask him to, that way you can watch what he likes without him having to tell you.
Kiba - Kiba is weird when it comes to baby fever, like he doesn't really get it that often?? Because he normally has a newborn or young toddler that shatters any allure that a new one might have haha. Does that makes sense? He has so many babies, he doesn't get baby fever haha. He just wanted a huge family pack and is also terrible with birth control and very fertile. He does however find the parenting life hacks incredibly helpful because fuck does he need them. If Tiktok can give him an activity that will keep all his pups occupied for an afternoon, then he's down for that.
Naruto - Listen, Naruto, if he had access to social media and YouTube and stuff, would learn how to make his nest from them. He didn't have anyone to teach him how, so he loves seeing how other people do it so he can copy and take the bits he likes. He will order weird shit for his nest sometimes though. He acknowledges that some of the stuff is weird, but don't you dare call his ramen pillow weird, because he'll defend it 😤😤
Beel - Yes, he watches food Tiktoks and then eats more than normal, so Lucifer bans him from it.
Levi - He spends so much time on Tiktok, I can't even say. He loves it, but it also triggers his envy when people have better cosplays than him or better anime collections and set ups. So, maybe it's best to limit him sometimes.
Asmo - Easily Devildom Tiktok famous. He loves the app and showing his adoring followers his beauty routines and sex toy collections makes him happy lol.
Zen - Yes, that would be so good for exposure!! He would so go viral singing with his shirt off XD
Yoosung - this made me laugh because Yoosung really would send those 'send this to your alpha' Tiktoks. He eagerly awaits for a reply every time and takes them seriously haha.
Those were great!! Thank you for sharing them with me!!
and oh my gosh!! Congratulations on graduating, that's amazing 🎉🎉 I'm glad I could help you relax, goodness knows students need it XD Have a wonderful day! <3

Waves
Summer placed her phone inside of the mount and made sure that it was secured before she sat back in her bed, getting comfortable with the mass of pillows supporting her back, and smiling tentatively. “Hi, guys.”
Summer!
Someone tell me this isn’t a joke???? Please???
She lives!
Sis, blink twice if you need help.
Summer rolled her eyes. “Ya’ll better stop. I know it’s been a minute since I’ve hopped on live, but it hasn’t been that damn long.”
Summer continued to read the comments where more than a few people pointed out she hadn’t gone live on Instagram in over three months. Her mouth dropped. “Ya’ll lying. It has not been almost six months, has it?” She placed her hand over her mouth when people started dropping dates in the comments. “Okay, I stand corrected. Damn, I’m sorry, guys.”
Don’t be sorry, bestie. Do better!
Damn, ya’ll are so entitled. Celebrities have lives too.
What life? We all been in quarantine.
Rich people quarantine be different from us poor folks, I guess.
“So that’s actually one of the things I wanted to talk about.” Summer cleared her throat. “And I’m going to try really hard to make sure I word what I want to say as clear and as effective as I can, but I know this is still going to end up as a salacious headline. So, it is what it is.”
Oooh, Summer about to drop some tea.
I don’t see her wedding ring, ya’ll…..
I’m scared omg.
Watch this be nothing but a role announcement.
She shrugged and took a deep breath. “Okay, so a few days ago, I did the Buss It challenge, after being harassed by Sanda. And can I just say that filming was a challenge in and of itself? Not necessarily the movements but preparing? I’ve got two kids, twins, who are like the Tasmanian devil. I was literally up at 3 something in the morning trying to record it because my wild children won’t let me be great.” She chuckled. “Kids are something else.”
Summer truly jumped through hoops and was a damn near acrobat trying to figure out when she could not only get herself done up but actually record the challenge. Being the perfectionist that she was didn’t help, but the fact that she couldn’t recall the last time she’d put on makeup and dressed up was a whole other fiasco.
Quarantine definitely brought out her bum side.
“All of that aside, I truly was satisfied and happy with the final product when I posted it. In hindsight, I should have just left it that, but I wake up every day and choose chaos, so I decided to read the comments.” She blew out a breath. “One of the most frequent comments and really, insults, I’ve received my whole career. Primarily, since I was cast as Storm, revolves around how I look. I.e., my weight. I’ve been called fat, obese, out of shape, and so many other things.”
It was 100% true. The minute Marvel announced that she’d been chosen to play Storm, the racists came all out of the woodworks. She was too short, too chubby, too dark, too black. And Summer didn’t care, not a bit.
“Even,—and I’ll tell you guys this, when I first started my SS training, that’s what I call it, SS for Storm Shape, there was a—person who worked for Marvel at the time who came to visit me while I was training.” She smiled thinking back on that day. She could still recall it so clearly. “He basically was pissed because to him, I still looked the same, fat and out of shape.” She adjusted her top and shifted in her bed. “That same day, I deadlifted and bench-pressed over 200lbs” She paused for effect. “What I need for people to stop doing is stop fucking projecting—and I’m going to cuss in this, so if you don’t like it, oh well. I work for Disney, but I’m a grown ass woman, and I’m going to say what I want.”
I am screaming. Summer said we getting alll the tea today!
So, it’s wrong to point out that someone is physically unhealthy now, cool?
The problem is that no one wants to see a fat superhero. It’s not realistic.
^^^^ Tell me you have a small dick without actually telling me you have a small dick.
“I saw Lizzo, whom I adore, post a Tik Tok where she basically said that she workouts to have the body she wants not what ya’ll want, and honestly? Same. She said that her body type is no one’s fucking business, and that’s so true. Ya’ll love to hop on this internet and pick apart people you don’t even know and criticize bodies you don’t even have to live in and move around with. And for what?” She shook her head, slamming her fist into her open palm as she spoke. She was fully invested now. “I know we in quarantine, but damn, pick another hobby cause being a bully is not it, sweetie.”
I really needed to hear this today.
Using Lizzo as a point of reference makes everything you’re saying null and void. Lizzo is clearly overweight and at risk for diabetes, heart disease, just to name a few…..
I been saying this! You can’t look at a person and say they’re unhealthy.
Bodies come in so many forms, and all are beautiful.
“Now, I bring all this up because a lot of people were commenting on my Buss It challenge and pointing out the fact that I’ve gained weight, and guess fucking what? I have, and you know what else?” She leaned over to whisper while covering her mouth with her hands for focused effect. “I don’t care.”
Summer laughed and shook her head. “As others have pointed out as well, yes, we have a gym in our house. I 1000% acknowledge the fact that having the resources that I do as a celebrity and someone who has money puts me in a different category. Hell, my husband has a whole fitness app. I recognize that. If I wanted to keep up with my workouts, emphasis on wanted, I could have. I own up to that, but I just didn’t feel like it, and that’s okay. What’s not okay is to send and leave mean messages calling me all kinds of names.”
Summer had thick skin. She always had. Growing up with her family, who always ensured to feed her self esteem and make sure she knew that she was beautiful, definitely paid off. It was just a combination of quarantine and not having a lot of opportunities to keep herself busy with work that had her feeling some type of way.
“And that’s something else I wanted to bring up.” She blew out another breath and tried to gather her emotions. This was the subject she was almost certain she’d grow teary eyed discussing. “I love my husband to death. My children are everything. Christopher’s family is like my own, but— I haven’t seen my family, like my mom, grandma, brothers, etc in almost a year.” She paused, dwelling on that. Almost an entire year since she’d been able to physically hug and interact with the people who made her who she was. “And I’ve always made it clear how much I fucking love my family. I live in Australia. I can’t do a drive by with grandma so I and my kids can at least see her on the doorstep.” She quieted again, eyes darting off as she quietly cursed. “I’m trying really hard not to cry right now.”
Please don’t cry, bestie.
This is the side of quarantine that people don’t talk about enough.
Has this woman never heard of FaceTime????
I feel her pain. I live in Europe, and my family is in the states. This quarantine has been brutal.
My grandma died from COVID, and I couldn’t even go to the funeral. Summer is bringing up a good point.
“Damn,” Summer chuckled bitterly and wiped at the tears that fell. “I’m okay, I promise. I just bring this up because quarantine has also been very hard for me in that aspect. At certain points, I’ve been down, I’ve been in my head a lot, and I just was not, for the most part, in a space where I felt like I had to keep up my fitness regimen. And that’s okay. I put my mental wellbeing ahead of making sure my body is socially acceptable. Sue me.”
I really appreciate her honesty.
Summer never goes beyond surface level in interviews, so seeing her this vulnerable is really surprising.
Are we supposed to feel bad for her? She’s rich. She can afford whatever help she needed.
These comments are not passing the vibe check.
Ya’ll are all mental health advocates, but when a black woman is opening up about her struggle, it’s discarded?
“And let me make this clear too, I have an amazing husband who is so patient and so kind. He’s one of the best people I can go to when my anxiety hits, so I don’t want this to come across as me complaining that I’ve been alone. I have him and our children. I just miss the rest of my family. That’s all.” She dried her eyes and started to read the comments, unsurprised by the mixed reaction. She expected as such and was unaffected. At least until she saw one comment.
@ChrisEvans: ❤️❤️❤️
“Evans!” Summer wasn’t expecting to see his name pop up. It’d been such a task convincing him to join IG, let alone teaching him how to operate it. “Let’s go live.”
Not my husband and wife in my head about to go live!!!!
Imagine being able to call Chris Evans your best friend
I still say they smashed idc
It’s Christopher Jamal Evans hopping on this live for me.
^^^ I’m so sick of y’all with that shit.
“Let me try to add him,” Summer spoke to herself, scrolling through the comments to find his so she could request him. “Alright, I requested him. Let’s see if he answers.”
She wondered if she should have sent him a text asking if he was available when he appeared on her screen, effectively splitting it with her on the top and him on the bottom.
“Punk.”
“Kid.”
Summer smiled and greeted, “Hi, best friend.”
He chuckled. “How you doing, Summer?”
“Clearly not as good as the people watching,” she chimed. Summer saw nothing but heart eyes and hearts in the comments. “These people really love you. You truly are a manipulative bastard. He’s an asshole, guys.”
“Don’t be jealous, Summer. It’s so unbecoming of you.”
“You can go to hell.”
“Language,” he playfully reprimanded. “Where are the kids?”
“At preschool. Things are finally starting to open back up over here. Thank God.” She clasped her hands together. “Y’all, please wear masks. Don’t be Karen’s.”
Chris laughed, grabbing his chest. “We’re getting there, Summer.”
“The lies you tell,” she countered. “Don’t A Starting Point, me. Ya’ll are far from getting there, and I’m tired of it. I wanna see my family.”
He sighed. “I know, but how are you feeling today?”
“I got rid of the kids, so that’s definitely a weight lifted,” she answered honestly, laughing when she saw judgmental comments in the chat. “Listen, if you’re a parent, you know where I’m coming from. You love your kids, but my god, sometimes you just need some space.”
“As soon as this all blows over, I told you to send em’ by me for a couple of weeks.”
“Best friend, I already purchased their tickets.” He laughed. “As soon as I get the green light, they are all yours. Feel free to keep them.”
“You guys see how she is?” He pointed to Summer, leaning and squinting to read what was being said. “I do love kids, especially the twins, they’re amazing.”
“He is really really great with them, guys,” Summer added. “One thing about Evans, he’s patient as hell and really, just a big kid. Why do you think him and Christopher get along so well? 40 going on 4.”
“I resent that.”
“Is it a lie though?”
He hesitated. “No.” They both laughed.
I’m loving the dynamic between these two so much.
Is it just me or are they flirting with each other…..
Ain’t nothing inappropriate about this conversation. Ya’ll are reaching…
Ya’ll remember that blind item that came out years ago alleging Chris (Evans) was the biological father of the twins? Hmm…..
^^^^^This kind of bullshit is the reason we’re in a global pandemic.
As always, Summer and Evans ignored any foolery that was being dropped in the comments when she caught a comment that didn’t contain some ridiculous rumor.
“Yes, it is true that Evans and Christopher weren’t allowed to do press together anymore. Ya’ll, they literally could not stay serious for more than a minute. I felt so bad for the poor interviewers.”
“Hey, we were not that bad,” Evans protested, his Boston accent more prominent.
She gasped. “You guys were terrible, Evans, and you know it. I was so mad when they put me with ya’ll those few times. I could barely hear the interviewers over your laughing and stupid commentary that literally no one asked for.”
“We did not.”
“There’s deadass video proof, Evans.”
“Fake news.”
She opened her mouth but caught herself. “I was about to say something.”
He laughed and asked, “Do you remember how we all got drunk before the Infinity War premiere?”
“No, ya’ll got drunk. I was big and pregnant, remember?”
“No,” he dismissed. “You were drinking with us.”
“Evans, how was I drinking when I was pregnant?” She challenged and reminded. “I got drunk with ya’ll for the Endgame premiere, not Infinity War.”
“That’s right,” he remembered and chuckled. “You think we’ll get in trouble for saying this?”
She shrugged with one shoulder. “You’re dead, Christopher never gets in trouble for anything, and I do what I want. I think we’re good.”
Kevin Feige watching this live right now like 🥴🥴🥴🥴
I never realized how arrogant she is……
LMAO. Not the whole cast showing up drunk to the biggest premiere of their lives.
Chris Evans is too damn fine to be approaching 40 and still single.
Their friendship is so goals omg
@ChrisHemsworth: Snitches
Summer’s jaw dropped as she caught the last comment, swiping up to click the name and make sure that she was reading correctly. “Christopher, what the hell are you doing on my live?”
Evans brows furrowed. “Hemmy is here? Shouldn’t he be working?”
“That’s what I want to know,” Summer supplied. “And how long have you been watching?”
@ChrisHemsworth: Long enough.
She smiled nervously and looked off to the side. “I feel weird now. I don’t like when he watches my lives.”
“Aren’t you guys married?”
“Aren’t you supposed to be shutting the fuck up?”
Evans lifted his hands in a defensive manner. “Touchy subject, I see.” They shared another laugh as he cleared his throat. “Why don’t you add him now? I’m supposed to be helping Scott cook.”
“My favorite Evans,” she gushed and furrowed her brows. “You, cooking? Since when?”
“Get out of here.” He waved her off and reminded. “I’m not the one who constantly causes near fires when in the kitchen.”
“So, you really just putting all my business out there like that?”
“Summer, it’s not secret to anyone that you can’t cook for shit.”
“Wow, it really be your own best friends.”
He chuckled. “Love you, kid.”
“Love you too, punk,” she blew a kiss. “I’ll text ya’ later.”
“Alright.” He smiled for the camera. “Thanks for having me everyone.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” she said jokingly. Evans and Summer said goodbye one last time before he left the live. She blew out a breath and ran her hand through her hair. “Baby, comment something so I can add you. It’s too many comments to wade through.”
Summer adjusted her phone and checked the time on the clock on the wall. It’d been a while since the kids were away at school, and she didn’t want to get so caught up that she was late picking them up.
@ChrisHemsworth: I can’t. I’m too drunk.
Summer released a mixture of a laugh and a snort reading his comment. “You are so damn petty.” She clicked his name and adjusted her outfit while waiting for him to answer. She almost cursed when it seemed like he wasn’t going to join, only for her to smile when his face appeared on her screen.
“Hi,” she greeted in a soft voice with a small smile.
“Hello, Sandcastle.”
“Did you just—I swear to god, it’s always something with you.” Summer rubbed her temples and shook her head. Christopher smiled in response. “Why aren’t you working?”
“I am.”
“You are?”
“Yes.”
“If you’re working, how are you talking to me?” She asked, sassily.
“Umm, a little thing called multitasking, ever heard of it?”
“Wow. You are an asshole.”
“That’s mean.”
“You’re mean.”
“Christopher, you are literally a child.”
“Does a child have muscles like this?” He flexed, and Summer stilled. Christopher stayed in ridiculous shape, but this was another level. He’d never been this massive, and she wasn’t too proud to admit that. Just not aloud.
She faked a yawn. “Am I supposed to be impressed?”
They really just be roasting each other all the time, and I’m here for it.
Summer must be legally blind because this man is stupid fine tf
It’s gotta be steroids. That’s not natural.
^^^^^He’s the god of thunder.
Summer rolled her eyes at the typical nature of the comments. These were the reasons she limited her time on social media and especially stayed away from reading the comments. Her attention was redirected to the top of her phone. It was a text from Christopher asking her to call him.
“But we’re—oh, I get it.” She realized he wanted to talk to her, not her and her tens of millions of followers. “Alright, guys, I’m gonna get off here so I can talk to my husband, alone.”
“She just doesn’t want to share me with you all, that’s all.”
“Don’t even start, Christopher,” she lectured while he laughed and got serious, for a minute tops.
“Hope you all are taking care and staying safe,” he spoke honestly. “And we’ll talk to you soon.”
Summer waved and smile. “Bye, guys. Remember to be kind.” Summer offered a final smile before ending the live. Closing up the app, she moved to open FaceTime and called up Christopher. He answered almost immediately. “You know I hate when you watch my Lives. Now, how much did you see?”
“Enough to know you’re coming to see me tonight.”
She laughed aloud. “Funny.”
“I’m serious, Summer.” Focusing on him, she realized that there was no humor in his voice nor his expression. Summer also noticed that he didn’t have the Thor wig on yet, which was probably why he was able to go live with her. He was waiting to get into hair and makeup. “Leave the kids with Liam. It’s not like he’s doing anything.”
“Christopher!”
“What? Is he not a professional unemployed bastard.”
Summer’s smile remained as she shook her head. “You are so mean.”
“I’ll handle the flight arrangements. You, my beautiful wife, just make sure you get on the jet so I can handle you.”
“Christopher, you’re working. People with everyday jobs don’t just up and show up to their spouses workplace because they miss them or need a break from the kids. That’s how folks get fired.”
Christopher started to move around, walking somewhere, she realized. “What are you doing?”
“Hey, Tike.”
Summer’s eyes widened slightly. “Christoper!”
“Sup, man?” Taika asked casually, as Summer laughed again. Taika Waititi was such a character.
“You mind if Summer comes up for a few days?”
“Sure, man,” he replied almost right away. “Bring the kids and chickens too.”
“I am not bringing those damn chickens,” she immediately protested.
Christopher made a sound. “Ha, so you are coming!”
“I didn’t say that.”
Taika joined Christopher so that he was in camera. “Hey, Summer, why don’t you come on join? You can have a cameo. Chickens, too.”
She rubbed her temples. Taika’s and Chris’s friendship would never not make sense to her. They were cut from the same cloth. “One, hey. Two, I was already in Ragnarok. I’m good on the cameos. Three, what is with ya’ll and those creepy looking chickens?”
“Whoa, creepy? What did the chickens ever do?”
“Exist,” Summer answered dryly. She still hadn’t forgiven Evans and Christopher for convincing her to let the kids keep those damn things. Her home was becoming more and more of a farm with each animal that joined the household.
“Tough crowd, that one, ehh?”
“Always,” Christopher agreed.
“I can hear you both,” she reminded and groaned loudly. Summer would love to spend a few days away from the kids. Chris would be working, yes, but she’d at least get some time for herself. Even better, alone adult time with her husband. That had also been a bit tricky during quarantine because of her rambunctious twins. Still, she disliked using her status as a celebrity to gain things, and this would definitely be a case of using status for pull. “I don’t know….”
Deep in her thoughts, she hadn’t realized that Chris had walked away and returned to wherever he was prior to finding Taika, most likely his trailer.
“What if you only stayed a night?” Chris tried to bargain. “The flight is only an hour and a half. That will give you more than enough time to come here, let me fix you dinner, run you a nice bath, maybe get in the good ole’ horizontal tango—”
“You know I hate when you call it that,” she reminded quietly, admitting. “That does sound nice, though.”
“Or, I can come to you—“
“Absolutely not. Christopher, you’re already doing so much back and forth as it is.” One of the good things to come out of quarantine, to Summer at least, was that it forced many people to take a much needed break. Her husband was one of those people. Christopher had been working nonstop since she met him. Project after project, film after film, many of them Marvel films, which put a whole other layer of difficulty what with the strenuous physical requirements. Even now as he shot Thor 4, he was in the best shape he’d ever been, muscles nearly tearing the cotton of his clothes. He looked amazing, but it was what they couldn’t see that she was starting to grow a little concerned over. Christopher wasn’t as young as he once was. He had to slow down, eventually.
Summer realized this would be a perfect chance to have a conversation about just that with him, which all but led her to her final decision.
“Alright,” she conceded, finger up as she made her demands. “Three days, and I stay at the house while you shoot. We may be returning to normal, but we’re still in a pandemic. I won’t go around anyone except you.”
“So I get you all to myself? Hardly consider that a stipulation.”
“And…we talk.”
“After the horizontal tango—“
“I swear to God, if you don’t stop calling it that—“
“What was that, sweetheart? I wasn’t listening.” She saw that he had paused the screen, causing Summer to remember that she hadn’t even consulted with the babysitter. “Making flight arrangements for you.”
“Shit, let me text Liam and make sure he’s available.”
“He gets reception in the box?”
“Christopher! For the last time, your brother is not living in a box.”
“Do you know that for certain?”
“Goodbye, Christopher,” she prepared to end the call before smiling softly. “I love you, Christopher, and thank you.”
He winked. “I’ll always do anything for you, Summer. Anything.” A beat. “Don’t forget to leave the clothes. You won’t need them.”
“Christopher!”

Hi! So I decided to write another fanfic! Also I just wanted you guys to know that this story is from my pov:
When my lovely friend, Cadence Blackburn invited me to have a sleepover at her house with some friends; the last thing I was expecting was the night to end in complete chaos. I had known her for ages and she had never pulled anything like this. It all started at midnight. Morrigan and I were watching tik toks while Jack kept daring Hawthorne to do silly and stupid stunts. Jack knew that Hawthorne would do it because Hawthorne is practically the definition of chaos. I was pretty sure that Jack wanted to see how far Hawthorne would go with these stunts. Right now, Hawthorne was attempting to climb a tree.
“Hawthorne!” Morrigan cried when she realized what Hawthorne was doing, “Get down from there!”
“I’m fine!” Hawthorne replied from the top of the tree.
“Yeah,” Jack responded with a snicker, “He’s fine, Morrigan.”
Morrigan ignored him and pleaded with Hawthorne for the next few minutes. It was funny to watch Morrigan and Jack’s interactions. The two were like cousins or siblings, depending on how you looked at it. Morrigan’s guardian was a man by the name of Jupiter North. Jupiter North was Jack’s uncle, but he could also be seen as a father figure to Jack. Because of this, they knew each other very well. For example, Morrigan told me earlier that night that she was positive that Jack was going to dare Hawthorne to do something stupid tonight. She warned him that he shouldn’t, but yet here we were.
Finally, Cadence convinced Hawthorne to come down. She persuaded him by promising him candy bars in the morning. We spent the next few minutes relaxing on the grass and trying to come up with what else we should do. Honestly, at that moment, I was thinking about calling it a night and going to sleep. The green grass beneath me was tempting me. It was very soft and calming. And the air was perfect! There was a slight breeze that carried the voices of bugs. And knowing that my friends were right beside me made me feel at peace. I had just started to close my eyes when Cadence asked the question that led to this whole mess.
“Do you guys want to look for Mothman?” Cadence asked.
I could hear the grass rustle on my left. This told me that someone had gotten up. I opened my eyes and saw that it was Jack. He was sitting up and staring at Cadence. Meanwhile, Morrigan, who was on my right, got up and looked confused. I peered over at Hawthorne. I was horrified when he had a mischievous look in his eyes. That’s when I knew that something was definitely going to go wrong.
Hawthorne replied with an eager “Yes!” as Morrigan, Jack, and I asked “Who’s Mothman?” at the same time.
Honestly, I was glad that I wasn’t the only one who was confused. Cadence smiled and then began to explain.
“The Mothman is said to be a cross between a man and a moth,” she said in a storyteller voice, “Legend has it that he stalks these woods at night. Wanna go look for him?”
    “Girl,” I said.
I found that in that moment, that was the only thing I could say. After all, I was in disbelief. Why would we go after a scary man (or moth I guess?) who stalks the woods at night. Luckily, Jack said the same thing that I was thinking.
“Why would we do that?” Jack asked as he raised an eyebrow.
“Because it would be fun!” Hawthorne exclaimed.
    I stared at Morrigan.
“Morrigan, bestie,” I asked, “You don’t want to do this, do you?
Morrigan refused to meet my eyes as she whispered, “I kind of want too,”
“Jack,” I said as I turned to him, getting ready to ask him if we should really allow them to do this. After all, we were the oldest. We shouldn’t be letting them do silly stuff that could get them hurt.
    Jack sighed before speaking.
“They would run away to do it the moment we go to sleep,” he replied.
I sighed. Of course, he was right. And that’s why at 12 a.m., a bunch of teenagers were looking for the mothman. After 10 minutes, I started to believe that this whole thing was just a hoax. I kept peering at Jack to see if he would tell the rest of the group that we should turn around and go to sleep, but he never did. I was disappointed. Not because of him, but because we had decided to do the thing that those silly characters did in horror movies. How did we sink to this level? I was about to tell the group that we should turn around when the tree to our right started to rustle violently. I began to back away from the tree.
“We shouldn’t have come here,” I muttered out loud.
“Show yourself!” Hawthorne said with way too much excitement for this situation.
I turned to see how the others were reacting. Morrigan was positioning herself behind Jack. On the other hand, Cadence looked excited. For a moment, I overcame my fear and rolled my eyes in disbelief. Some group we are. The tree continued to shake. Like a flash of lightning, something jumped down from the tree and landed in front of us. All of us screamed as the thing stood up. It was a man. But it was also a moth. It was the Mothman.
“Hello children!” he exclaimed. “I’m here to make your worst nightmares come true!”
He turned to me and said, “Starting with you.”
Suddenly, “Nobody” by Mitski started playing.
“This isn’t so bad,” I said and started dancing to the music.
Then, it happened. Just as Mitsk’s paradisiacal voice began to sing the chorus for Nobody; she was cut off by a man saying “What you know about rolling in the deep?”
I screamed in horror. This was a tik tok trend in which songs were interrupted by a man saying “What you know about rolling in the deep?” Sounds fun, right? After all, it’s nice that teens are creating remixes! Except there was one downside: it ruined the song.
“Clover!” Cadence cried while covering her ears, “Try taking a picture of him and using the flash! I want a picture of him and you can use the flash to scare him away! He hates lights!”
Luckily, the Mothman couldn’t hear us because he was too busy singing along with the man. I opened up the camera app. I turned on flash mode and took a picture of Mothman. He screamed and began to use his wings to fly away.
    “That’s for Mitski!” I screamed.
    Then I turned to Cadence.
    “How does the picture look?”
    “Good.”
“Ready to go back to the site?”
    “Sure.”
We walked back to the campsite in complete silence. When we arrived at the campsite, I got ready to lay back down on the grass and sleep. But Cadence stopped me.
“Are we going to share the photo?” She asked.
After a few seconds, I replied with “I don’t think we should.”
“Why?” Hawthorne asked as he titled his head.
“Well, number one, then our guardians will know that we were wandering the woods at night and we might get in trouble. Two, we might gain popularity and that isn’t always a good thing.”
“Wow. I didn’t even think about that.”

“I’m tired. Can we continue this conversation in the morning?”

Everyone replied with “Yes” or “Sure”.
Then, we got ready to go to sleep. The sound of rustling sleeping bags filled the air as my friends got ready for bed. Eventually, everyone else was soundly asleep. There was a mix of breathing and snoring that joined the chorus of bugs. There was a slight breeze that made the summer evening pleasant. I felt my eyelids grow heavy. Finally, I was starting to fall asleep. But I could have sworn that as I was drifting into a state of unconsciousness, I heard a faint, “What you know about rolling down in the deep?” in the distance.

RASHIDA RENEÉ WANTS YOU TO KNOW YOUR HISTORY by  Alexis Rene Moten (Culture Jock)
Let’s start this article with a quiz: Name a Black model from the 1990’s that isn’t Naomi Campbell or Tyra Banks?
Stumped? It’s safe to say that if the question were asked to name a White model that wasn’t Kate Moss or Cyndi Crawford, best case scenario you would’ve excelled with a list to provide. Maybe something like: Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Shalom Harlow, Carla Bruni, Heidi Klum..you get my point.
At times, Pop Culture can be a fair-weather friend. Monday’s It-girl becomes Friday’s nobody and by Sunday there’s a new hot thing in town to get all the girls in a fuss. But as nostalgia-trends rises as capitalism’s newest enterprise, endorsed largely by social media app, Instagram, history is being retold by the agenda of it’s curator. The selective hearing of  Instagram accounts like @90scelebvibes (391K followers) and @90sanxiety (793K followers) present a facade that the past was rather beige, leaving largely out the credit due to the Black and people of color creatives that developed and inspired the trends imitated today.
Bay area based, Fashion archivist Rashida Reneé, takes on self-love to a familial level celebrating her love and the appreciation of Black designers, models and other fashion industry influencers that otherwise go forgotten in our modern culture. In fashion, as in anything else, things old become anew. However, Reneé takes on the responsibility as a trend gatekeeper, providing evidence of what fashion used to be and recognizing the faces we longed forgotten.
Q: Name a Black model from the 1990’s that isn’t Naomi Campbell or Tyra Banks?
A: Beverly Peele,  Gail O’Neill, Iman, Kara, Young, Karen Alexander,  Louise Vyent, Roshumba, Veronica Webb, etc.
Culture Jock: What is a typical day for the most hated hoe in the city?
RR: (laughs) It’s weird, I kind of like to keep it to myself. Keep track of what I like and my thoughts. I don’t know. I'm very low-key person in real life, but when I do leave the house (pauses) I do, I promise! I just like my personal time, but when it’s time to be out I am present, as much as possible. I do what I do becauseII like giving information to people and give them links and information just so they know.
CJ: What brought you into fashion archiving?
RR: My whole archiving process was originally for myself and filling in spots of information where there it was empty of black people. Of course, there is street fashion, but in terms of online fashion, sites like Manrepeller, you didn’t see a lot of black girls doing it and the people doing it I thought were lame. Finding other black people who weren’t anti-black in those kind of spaces. I felt a lot of people were trying to make us to assimilate. Everyone was kind of like doing the same things and it was like, ‘Naomi Campbell!’ But if it were any other dark girl it didn’t matter. So, I started my own blog and then I had to stop myself from posting Naomi Campbell’s photos too. I would do one picture of Naomi Campbell a day and try to really give props to other black woman involved and black people in general. When I was younger I was familiar with the other models not just Naomi Campbell, my mom was really in it with Naomi. She worked in a beauty salon, which had magazines of all the models. Like, black hair magazines, they always listed the models so, no matter what you knew who they were. Whoever it was in the 90s, ‘this is who that is and this who that is.’ You’d see the oldest Destiny Child’s video shoots in black hair magazines. I just haven’t seen other people doing that. There are other girls now that focus more on Hip Hop in 90s and 2000s. Livejournal, fashion spot, Tumblr, people didn’t go out of their way to scan the black models or even try to name them. It’s funny, people online, they don’t even try to hide their biases. No one was really fashion blogging the way I like or how I see .
CJ:In your piece for Office Magazine you mention, from Patrick Kelley to today’s influence of Dapper Dan, American culture from its roots drips of Black influence and culture. Why do you think Black culture is so immutable and where do you see the ownership of our creations.
RR: People I mean know, it’s just like, it’s weird and odd to even talk about. Not just people referencing me or copying, I feel like I am being gaslit all the time or being told that. People love stealing from black people. People love stealing from black people. People love stealing from black people and lying about it. People hate black people but they think we are cool. I can’t even (pauses)yeah it’s very weird. The twitter thing is weird (sighs).
CJ: It is weird.
RR: (sighs) It’s not really helping them. It’s boring to live with no personality. To see someone interesting and steal from them to bolster themselves. [On social media] we have the means to share with each other, like, moments that are of shared experiences of oppression and that is even imitated. I don’t know why the copy of things are okay. It is such a multi-layered thing. Or the way the Stans talk like mainly the Black queer and Black trans talk and how all of that is now being used by everyone. Ariana Grande, ya know, icons talk like girls on the ballrooms did back in 2006. Parodying things. It helps them develop their own brand, I don’t understand their fascination with us anyway. I’m into my own shit and own culture. I like the way black people express themselves and other people use us and what we do to talk to each other or communicate and then take that to feel cool. I’ve always been, like, ‘why would someone want to be like this?’ or pretend. I don’t get it. People run out of content. I know people used to make fun of me and the things I used to be and ironically they are into it now. People need to find their own hobbies. They are bored.
CJ: The internet is complex. It’s a parody of itself.
RR: Knowing your history is important. You need to know where you came from to know where you are going. When it comes to fashion archives the question is, ‘what is it that you are looking for or trying to highlight?’ My concern is that fashion archiving is feeding into nostalgic trends, where it’s easier to mimic what was done before rather then create new moments. Do you share the same sentiments?
CJ: What is it about fashion that excites you?
RR: It’s so fun and so funny. The dolls are taking over. That’s how most things go, the things that happened come back with a hyper focus. It really is going full out now. It’s interesting to see how people are dressing now. [Fashion] is always reflective of the political climate. Think about the 80s everyone is dressing like a dickhead. Then when people got sick of dressing like a dickhead, minimalism comes in. We cycle through trends so fast, today. I remember a girl wearing a hair clips and no one was into it. Then the next week everyone was wearing them, then I see Cyndi Lauper in an interview wearing hair clips. She’s like 50-something and she’s wearing hair clips made out of Swarovski crystals. It’s so interesting. It’s funny how it happens. Now everyone is into fashion.
CJ: Who are your biggest fashion influences ?
RR: My biggest influences are Naomi Campbell and my mom. Girls I follow on the internet. My mom is from San Francisco lives her own life and is very eclectic. I get a lot from her and different taste. Foxy Brown is also very inspiring, I reference her a lot I think about her and Steven Miesel. Steven knows how to do everything. Steven can do everything. Everyone knows I am a crazy Beyoncé fan. But, I have different girls for different moods. My main inspo is Naomi and Foxy Brown. I really gravitated to Foxy because she was more into Prada and Chloe when Stella McCartney was there. Because of Foxy I love Chloe. She was very cool. Naomi is, you just aspire to that level of greatness. There is no one else. Even in her flaws she handles them so well. I can’t imagine someone else with that kind of rap sheet to not get fully canceled. I judge people by how they react to criticism. She handles it really well. I find that really inspiring.
CJ: What film or television do you think has the best fashion catalog? If you could what character's closet would you love to raid?
RR: I am so frazzled. There’s so much stuff I like. I write things down specifically, because I can never remember. I watched The Nanny last year with Fran Drescher, when I was really depressed and was like, ‘Wow this is inspiring.’ Brenda Cooper, her mind. Everyone had a look in. Pose, is another one. Everything has intentions from the main characters to the background characters. I really like the first season of costume design. It’s commitment to that era. Someone is always dressed like, Karen White or Jodi Whitley. Elektra is very dynasty, that high lady energy. I love that about the show. I love Glow, the costume designer, Beth Morgan. I love when people do era shows, specifically the 80s and they don’t try to soften it, especially in makeup or hair. They aren’t scared to embrace the ugliness, I love that. That’s what good costume design is about. High fashion is easy, but what really gets me is watching old movies and looking at the clothes.
CJ: We are moving into a new decade of 2020. I have a feeling it may be the year of 2020 vision and final clarity. What are your aspirations for this new era and what do you hope to see from the world?
RR: I feel like the children are our future. That’s what I’m looking at, to see what the kids are into. People are more focused into what they look like and I remember if someone dressed a little bit out of fashion it was a huge deal and get talked about. But now they are embracing their weirdness and experimenting. Do you watch that Tik Tok stuff? I just want a regular life. Happy, healthy, all my kids are happy and healthy. When I move to [Los Angeles] and get hotter, hotter and I want to  become, what is that called, a wellness person? I want a Goop moment, but with Solange aesthetics. Maybe make a propaganda film to get people to stop wearing wigs.

Prince Philip and TikTok app
One night, I was browsing on Tik Tok as I do every single night before I go to bed when I found a video about Prince Philip. I'm interested in everything related to England and the Royal Family, so I watched and… I wish I wouldn’t have done it.
For some basic information, Prince Philip is the husband of Queen Elizabeth II. He’s 99 years old, he has children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He’s been in the hospital for the last month and he left the hospital four days ago. I think he’s family is happy to be able to spend a little more time with him at home.
Up until this point, some of you might ask the question: “How can Prince Philip be related to a Tik Tok video?” It’s a good question. Back to the night when I found a video. The video made a joke that Prince Philip looks more dead than he looks alive. The creator put some bad pictures about him, and the comment section just blew up. Everybody was joking around with "Philip looks like a zombie" or "it's a puppet, he has to be dead for years now" and other stuff. I read around a hundred comment and only one or two sad that joking with someone being dead is inappropriate.
I know, Royal Family has a bad reputation after Meghan and Henry's interview. But it’s not okay to make jokes about someone's loved one being dead and how he looks at the age of 99. How would you feel if someone called your elder family member a zombie/creep/puppet?
(I attached one of the pictures from the video, I think he looks like a 99-year-old man who just survived multiple treatments and a heart procedure.)

Top 5 shows/YouTube channels you'd recommend?
Achievement Hunter/LetsPlay
A cast of about 11 people play video games Very badly. I’m going to break this down into different series because honestly? They produce a Lot of content, and not everything is for everyone. I probably won’t elaborate on series within series so if you wanna know, drop me an ask?
Minecraft:
Their longest running series at over 400 episodes, Minecraft Lets Plays run from soothing (Let’s Builds, Skyfactory One at most times, some of achieveland) to the most stressful thing you’ve ever seen (Ya Dead, Ya Dead and the King series). They’ve done builds, they’ve done mod packs, they’ve done servers, it’s wild.
GTA V:
Split between races, Heists, and Things To Do, their GTA V is their second longest running series with 402 episodes at the time of writing. It’s spawned an entire set of alter egos known as the Fake AH Crew, and has created some fairly iconic moments. I would recommend their Heist videos, especially Michaels Heist and the Criminal Masterminds series, as they’ve some of my favourite.
GMOD:
The Achievement Hunter cast is very very good at lying to each other, so they found a game where they can do that. Split between Prop Hunt, Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT), Murder, and their own creation “Death Snail”, they have roughly 130 episodes of lying, shooting, and betrayal, it’s great.
Play Pals and Battle Buddies:
Putting these two together because they’re both pairs of people playing video games badly.
Battle buddies features Ryan Haywood and Jeremy Dooley playing FPS games pretty well (such as Wolfenstein, Doom, Far Cry, Portal and more). I think there’s lore but honestly? I have not being paying very much attention
Play Pals is Michael Jones and Gavin Free being Very Very Bad at games. They’re currently playing “Please Don’t Touch Anything”, but they’re also known for Human Fall Flat and Super Bunny Man
Hardcore [Game]:
The hardcore series sees Achievement Hunter take a family friendly game (such as Monopoly and Mini Golf) and introduce High Stakes and wacky costumes. It’s Fun, it’s Manic, and I don’t know how some of them are still alive tbh
Off Topic:
Off Topic is the official Achievement Hunter podcast. Each episode is roughly 2 hours and there’s over 200 episodes. Usually it’s getting drunk and talking shit, but like, it’s funny
Red Web:
Red Web is a new achievement hunter podcast, hosted by the “AH Twins” (Trevor Collins and Alfredo Diaz). It explores online mysteries and cryptic stories spanning the decades. Available wherever you listen to podcasts
This Just Internet:
Fiona Nova attempts to teach the rest of Achievement Hunter about memes and Tik Toks. Includes up to date memes at the time of each episode airing, a revolving cast of three hunters + Fiona, and a recent section about and featuring community made memes
Let’s Roll:
The Achievement Hunter board game show, currently hosted by Larry the Games Wizard. Includes a wide range of board games, including some recurring ones like Coup, One Night Ultimate, and The Red Dragon Inn. Always fun to watch them screw each other over (this time with cards)
AH Animated:
Little 2-3 minute clips from across everything Achievement Hunter does, but this time animated by some Extremely talented people. Always very funny, and usually include good callbacks to earlier points that are fun to spot.
Between the Games:
Ever wonder what happens when you lock 11 overgrown children in a room together? A lot of property damage. Usually it’s messing around with food, throwing things at their rapidly deteriorating ceiling, or causing the most pain to themselves and their coworkers (seriously, these guys are a health hazard)
Umbrella Academy
Seven siblings try to survive in a world of superpowers, time travel, the apocalypse, and other basic threats.
Season two has just come out on Netflix and it’s actually pretty good?? Very bingeable. Trigger warnings for guns, knives, drugs, war, gore, bombs, blood, and cults. Season two also deals with racism and homophobia (although it does this very well, without using really bad slurs (I think, can’t remember that well))
Watcher
Y’all remember the Ghoul Boys, Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara? Well they grabbed Steven Lim and started their own channel, Watcher.
It has some really good series, such as “Weird And/Or Wonderful World”, “Are You Scared?”, and my personal favourite “Puppet History”
Murder Room/On The Spot
I’m lumping these two very different series together because of their ever suffering host, Jon Risinger
Murder Room:
In the near future, the Justice System is dead and instead they lock a jury of four people in a room with the Host and an AI named Jessica. They get 30 minutes and a bunch of clues to work out who did it and hand an immediate death sentence to one of three suspects.
This is a completely finished series of 10 episodes, available on YouTube with video, or on podcast apps. Each case is completely different, the jury is never repeated, and it can be both really fun and really stressful. Trigger warnings for death, blood, gore, knives, guns, smoking, and drugs
On The Spot:
Join two teams of two players and the ever suffering host, Jon Risinger, as they battle it out in different improv comedy games to find out who can make Jon regret his life choices the most. None of the points matter, but then again nothing really does
It’s got actually funny improv comedy, 15 complete seasons that you can jump around in, and games that can be really creative at times. Trigger warnings for guns and knives in some episodes, I haven’t seen them all so I can’t exactly say what else there is (sorry)
Unraveled
In this Polygon series, Brian David Gilbert (The man with the Energy of a feral raccoon on energy drink) gets way too into video games. It’s like if Mythbusters replaced explosions with video game lore, and still managed to get the same effect

your choice | anti-soulmate au where they weren't born with soul-mates and they meet in a group where other people who don't have them meet-up. and they come to the conclusion that they're not weirdos for not having them. cause they have the group and each other jhskfjksdf - @malcolmbrights
ok i’m sorry this turned REALLY long but here we go.
aka: five times ev didn’t go to support group and one time she did
Tumblr media
i.
Evelyn Reyes spends much of her sixteenth year of life staring into reflective surfaces in the vain hope that she will find a soulmark has bloomed on her skin while she wasn’t looking. Most people are born within them, though it isn’t entirely unheard of for the matching tattoos to make themselves known in the years between childhood and adolescence. A teenager already, Evelyn is a rarity, late even by the most generous of time frames, and this makes her a repository for her peers’ pity. She takes to wearing long sleeves even in the sweltering heat of summer to avoid questions, but finds that it’s all people want to talk to her about. No matter how they phrase their comforting platitudes or prying questions, it all sounds the same to her.
Are you scared that you might be utterly alone? How relieved I am that it’s you and not me.
Evelyn hates them all, but most of all she hates the guidance counselor who calls her into her office to offer ‘support’ and gives Evelyn a flyer for a group of people with deceased soulmates. It’s not the same, the counselor explains, but those in the group might understand what Evelyn is going through. They can sympathize on how horrible it is to not have a soulmate.
Her cheeks burn hot. She shoves the flyer into the pocket of her hoodie and begs to be excused. On her way home she tears the flyer into little pieces and throws it over a bridge, watching the pieces of paper flutter and land on the river below while angry, shameful tears prick at her eyes.
After that, she stops checking her body for new marks.
ii. The first man that Evelyn loves also takes pains to keep covered up. Unlike Evelyn, he actually has something to hide: a bright blue tattoo of a bird in flight. The space where it adorns his forearm is usually bandaged lest Jamie’s eager admirers find a way to replicate it and render the mark useless.
When they lie together at night, Evelyn traces the mark. It’s the closest she’s ever been to one that didn’t belong to either of her parents, and even at a young age she knew not to ask questions about theirs.
“They weren’t soulmates.” Evelyn tells her lover one night. “His died when they were little — childhood sweethearts. And my mom has never talked about hers, but I know he’s gone too. She wouldn’t have married my father or had me if she thought he was still out there.”
What she doesn’t confess hangs in the air. Jamie addresses it anyway.
“You know that’s not the reason you’re like this, right?”
Evelyn is silent but the finger that was tracing his mark stills.
“Evelyn. It’s just bad luck. Seriously.” He tilts her face so he can stare into her eyes. Jamie is rarely serious, so this sudden sobriety makes it difficult for Evelyn to hold his gaze, but she does. “Bad things happen to lots of people, and it’s not the end of the world. My cousin is widowed, and he remarried and—“
Before he can finish his story, Evelyn kisses him. And kisses him. Her distraction works.
That night Evelyn prays for the first time in well over a decade: asking for a blue bird on her forearm. ( She breaks up with Jamie a week later. Better to get out with her heart mostly intact. She never does find out what happened to that cousin of his, though sometimes she wonders if she should have let Jamie finish. )
iii.
“Would it kill you to write something happy for once? Just one ballad about summer love, or getting dicked down?”
Evelyn frowns. “You know I’m not the bubblegum pop type.”
“That’s for sure.” Her producer sighs. “Listen, you’re good. But can’t you just write a love song that isn’t super … intense and depressing? Give us something fun and light-hearted for once.”
“What if I haven’t felt that?”
“Then pretend, or talk to someone who has.” The producer fixes her with a look between pity and sternness. “Seriously, Evie. Don’t come back here without a love song. And get a therapist.”
Evelyn returns in a week with a song about the thrill of a first glance and the intense flush of devotion that follows it. The song spends several weeks on the charts and goes viral after someone creates a Tik Tok dance for it, though none of that matters to sole inspiration for the song: Evelyn’s new cat.
iv.
Her second-ever happy love song is not as commercially successful, but it is inspired by a human being this time. Naomi is brilliant, and funny, and the most talented actress of her generation (according to a Vanity Fair correspondent but Evelyn is inclined to agree). The first time she refers to Evelyn as “the love of my life”, Evelyn spends the better part of a week repeating the moment in her mind.
Naomi really should have thought to mention the caveat.
Three years later, Evelyn laughs at something a precocious child on a television program says and asks, “What would you do if your child asked you that?”
Naomi shakes her head. “Pour myself some scotch and direct them towards their other mom, or dad.”
Evelyn is frozen.
Other mom or dad. Not you. Not the love of her life. Because Evelyn is only the love of Naomi’s life … for now.
Evelyn turns off the television program. “You don’t think we’ll raise children together?”
Naomi looks sheepish. To her credit, she picks her words more carefully this time. “Evelyn … be realistic. I love you so much but - someday I’m going to meet the real thing. You can’t ask me to say no to them for you.”
Evelyn feels the same hot shame she did when she was sixteen and finally accepting that she had no soulmate and never would. This time she won’t cry, not in front of Naomi. “I’m a person. Not your training wheels.”
She moves out the next day.
v.
Dating apps aren’t much different, as it turns out. She has way too many messages from people who assume that being bisexual means she wants nothing more than to fulfill the threesome fantasies of heterosexual couples, and even more messages from people who think that because she is “unmarked”, she isn’t looking for anything serious. To be unmarked is to be written off entirely as a romantic partner, or at least as a serious one.
She deletes the dating app, but not before she posts a screenshot of her DMs to her Instagram with a caption finally addressing the rumors that she is unmarked.
I've always been private regarding the subject, but I owe it to anyone else like me to be more candid about my experiences as someone without a soulmark. Yes — I am unmarked, but not unworthy.
That night she’s flooded with messages from others like her, who thank her and repost her message. It’s humbling and uplifting all at once and Evelyn is guilty that she didn’t do it sooner. She responds to as many as she possibly can.
( One message stands out among the rest:
@ teorror: hey @reyevie  - if you’re in nyc, my support group would love to have you! we meet at [ …. ] )
vi.
In the end, it’s not another rejection or loneliness or even solidarity that leads Evelyn to finally try talking to others like her.
It’s pettiness, and a lot of annoyance.
A former classmate posts a soulmate announcement on Facebook in which the caption describes meeting her soulmate for the first time as the single most important day of anyone’s life, the center of the human experience.
It makes Evelyn grit her teeth.
She is indignant that anyone would not consider the pain and feelings of inadequacy those words might cause for unmarked youth like the ones she’s received messages from, or her younger self. And she realizes with a pang of regret: it’s not just social media, or dating apps. It’s also the songs that people like Evelyn have written, the films and books that saturate the market that convince everyone that no other kind of love or measure of happiness matters when compared to romantic love.
As much as Evelyn craves it, she refuses to accept that it should overshadow every other aspect of her life.
She scrolls through her messages until she finds the one from @teorror again, inviting her to join his group and decides to show up and prove her point, even if she’s the only one who knows it.
To her initial horror, the group is small. There are only three people there, and Evelyn is just about ready to turn on her heel and walk away rather than join such an intimate gathering when a man bolts from his chair with an overjoyed expression on his face.
“Hey! You actually came!” He goes to her, and offers his hand to be shaked. “Can I call you Ev? Guys! This is Ev! The singer I was telling you guys about? Come on, sit down.”
The man she’s guessing is Teorror (Teo, she’ll later learn) guides her towards the others and the other man produces a chair for her and introduces himself as Rico.
Mercifully, they don’t ask her to introduce herself first or talk first. The woman next to her (Claudia) does, then Rico and Teo. Eventually they all turn to Evelyn.
“You don’t have to share if you’re not ready, Ev.” Claudia says, adopting Teo’s nickname for Evelyn. “The first time can be overwhelming.”
Ev nods, but feels she should try anyway. “I’m Evelyn — and as I guess you’ve figured, I’m also an unmarked.”
Immediately, a shadow crosses over the faces of the others. Evelyn stops.
“We try not to use that word.” Rico says gently and Evelyn can tell he’s taking care to not embarrass her. “It isn’t good to define ourselves by what we don’t have, rather than what we do.”
“Tell us about you. Teo says you’re a singer?” Claudia coaxes helpfully.
Teo offers Evelyn another wide smile. “I used to call myself leftovers. Or spare parts. I thought it was really funny, you know? But they’re right: focusing on what you lack just sets you up for more pain.”
It’s something to think about. She’s back for the session next week.
As the months go by, she sees the group outside of meetings too, starting with a potluck at Teo’s and leading to drinks and mechanical bull rides with Rico, or sightseeing with Claudia. At first she wonders what it might be like to share a soulmark with one of them … to find a soulmate after all … but eventually, she nearly stops thinking of the marks altogether.
Those fantasies end entirely after another night of dancing, as they’re having greasy fast food and Teo slings his arm around her as he tells a story that requires exaggerated facial expressions and wild hand gestures. She laughs and almost misses the moment where Claudia returns to the table with her order and slides her a crispy taco (Ev’s favorite) and Rico picks at the tomato (which Ev’s hates) and places it beside his own burger so that Evelyn won’t have to. They know her well, she realizes, better than anyone. They love her better than anyone …and suddenly Evelyn feels overwhelmed with her love for them in return.
Here is the intimacy she’s been craving her whole life: a love that doesn’t ask her to define herself by it, or insist upon its sole importance. It simply accepts, and gives.
Evelyn can only wonder why she ever thought this wouldn’t be enough.

biography !!
okay so … born and raised in rochester, new york to the well known samuels family. preacher father, a mother, a twin sister born 15 minutes before him - aka tatiana samuels, who died back in january.
kinda … grew up as a really awkward, quiet kid? like … just didn’t really interact with other kids super well, preferred being alone and like … digging up bugs in the dirt. only friend was like … his own sister.
grew out of this as they got older, instead sort of … becoming a bit of a dick? to compensate for years of awkwardness? will bite the hand that feeds him. was a full on nuisance by middle school. tatiana was not, at least, noticeably.
has always been a fan of darker materials, y’know - grim and creepy, morbid shit. big fan of tim burton ever since he was a kid, which isn’t … a good look for a preacher’s son, but he’s never really felt ~in~ with the rest of his family, anyway.
drew disturbing pictures as a kid probably tbh that prompted one or two or five phone calls home 2 assure everything was fine.
has always been really … good at art, in general - from drawing to painting to playing with clay, that’s always been viktor’s Thing.
aNyWaYs. being tatiana’s twin brother was kinda hard sometimes. tatiana and him were near opposites besides their same mean-spirited trait. she was better in the public than he was, but viktor was arguably more talented than tatiana. they both loved each other deeply and found each other as competition for their parents’ attention - a rivalry, of sorts.
high school is when viktor really started to act out - started extreme, like losing his virginity in their church and vandalism around the neighborhoods. faked being possessed in the middle of sunday service. almost had an exorcism performed on him, probably.
the only redeemable trait was like … his sheer talent with art. was in a 3d art AP course, specialized in sculpting - could pretty much create anything he wanted with enough dedication.
because his parents would be focused on disciplining him for his antics, tatiana could sneak away and get away with stuff easier. so like, y’know, that’s on the bright-side of things.
never been particularly motivated to do much - wasn’t planning on attending lockwood but his parents kinda … did and sent in his application for him b/c they were Not on board with him Wasting Away (wanted him out of the house asap)
actually pretty smart !! just doesn’t like … want to apply himself ever. double majoring in english and visual arts because they’re like … two of his only interests :/ plus he wants to write and illustrate his own series of children books with a style similar to tim burton’s
he’d been experimenting since high school but college is where he really started to like … crack down on himself and figure himself out. was out as pan & nonbinary by his sophomore year of college, just … not to his family, necessarily. thinks tatiana always knew, but didn’t … really use it against him, blessedly enough
always felt like the whole twin - connection thing was … both wack and also not-wack? sometimes it felt believable but sometimes he had no idea what was going on in tatiana’s head. but he felt oddly transparent to her, always - like he was predictable to no one but her.
( TW DEATH, GRIEF, OVERDOSE / HOSPITALIZATION BEYOND THIS POINT )
but when tatiana disappeared - it was like, like viktor knew. the moment she had been kidnapped - felt something deeply wrong in his gut. and when tatiana died - viktor felt something cut so severely in him. he knew, he always knew exactly when. he couldn’t put his finger on how - but he knew. even when everybody else held out hope for her to be found - he knew.
went on a bender around the same time, had always struggled w/ drug addiction but it got worse the longer tatiana went without being found.
( also struggled heavily with his mental health, too ?? has manic and depressive episodes. will fixate on a sculpting project for six months and then purposely knock it off the table and destroy it in the matter of seconds once it’s finished for. no fucking reason. impulse spends A Lot. )
when her body was found, viktor went off the rails. ended up overdosing and being hospitalized where he spent the next like … however long months … until they deemed him better.
has been back since the beginning of fall semester in an attempt to finish his senior year - mostly out of his parents’ insistence that he did, because he very much did not want to.
is still dealing with a lot of trauma & grief, which was only amplified with dean lockwood’s death - causing him to spiral and be unpredictable with his mental health. some days are good, and some days are very bad.
personality !!
the human embodiment of a gremlin, fed after midnight. a goblin, if u will. one of those cats with a narrow head and big ass ears. that’s him.
b i g horror & halloween enthusiast. loves the old campy horror movies. probably has an abundance of masks from different movies. dresses like a grimy millennial beetlejuice more than he should. love those vertically striped pants!
fashion alternates between e-boy (would b tik tok famous if he were like … 17), millennial beetlejuice, and like … goth in a crop top and sweatpants. big fan of crop tops. big fan of sweatpants.
he can be fucking mean. petty, aggressive, instigator. will literally spit in ur face or no reason. kind of person who’ll stick his gum into other ppl’s hair. other than that he’s like … pretty okay. he’s not always mean, he’s just a dick like … 70% of the time lmao
i mean yeah okay he’ll call someone a stinky bitch for no reason except He Feels Like It And Believes It. it’s fine he’s fine, we’re fine.
despite the fact tht he’s probably getting into fights whenever - considers himself 2 be a lover n not a fighter but that’s just because he Fucks a lot. kind of uses it like a coping mechanism, like he’s this big fancy carnival show that’s like ‘come one, come all! fuck the dead girl’s twin brother!’ may have a problem w/ hypersexuality but it’s nothing he’s fully. aware of.
the preacher’s whore son, basically
like i said he’s pan & nb, switches between he and they pronouns but like … he has such a fragile grip on his identity that u could call him ‘dog-faced bitch’ and he’d turn like hey wassup :)
vastly impulsive, like i’ve mentioned … destroys his own creations 4 the fun of it, spends all his money on useless shit, will cheat on someone bc he feels like it. screams into the night sky frequently, like a cat in heat.
i mean he also creates useless shit for no reason too. spent six months sculpting a hollowed out tree the size of him and then took a sledgehammer to it.
dramatic fuck. used to play the organ at the church like … when no one was looking after him and service was about to start. just these creepy as melodies. would do the same thing at home on his keyboard w/ the organ setting whenever he got grounded until his parents took away his keyboard sadjfkg
won’t talk about his time away b/c it’s not rly anybody’s business but ofc nothing is sacred to the watershed app, y’know, nothing’s private.
still like - he absolutely refuses to talk about tatiana’s death and like, his mental health or his addiction (he’s fallen back into it tbh but it hasn’t gotten bad again … yet) or like … anything involving his own emotions
will literally just change the topic! abruptly, no warning, asks about the jonas brothers instead.
that being said he’s obsessed with tatiana’s death. tatiana was very much a rock for him, kinda dependent on her in a way? just … being there, y’know, kept him grounded.
so he obv became a shepherd bc he wants to know Everything there is abt the app, wants to be deep inside it, wanted to know Who Exactly Killed Tatiana and like … not saying he wants 2 commit murder but :/ yknow. he’s very upset.
emotionally unavailable while also like crying twice a day.
will tell you straight up what he wants from you, no bullshit, no beating around the bush - just blunt. if he wants to just fuck, nothing else, then that’s that. if he feels deviation he’ll ghost in like. less than a second. kinda awful like that! feels no shame.
but like … also is emotional ?? as shit ?? it’s confusing. he’ll cry on a whim and then flip u off if u try to console him or like. ask him anything. will bite you.
he goes to therapy but he generally fucks around and wastes most of the time until the therapist threatens to like … idk what therapists r allowed to threaten. to send him off to another therapist? idk.
likes being intimidating but like … not with his body or nothing ‘cos he’s a TWIG, but like … uses his love for horror n creepy shit to his advantage. has an abundance of fake blood. has channeled the energy of jack nicholson and used it on tatiana’s boyfriends before.
( also a big fan of sfx makeup, has dabbled in it)
probably chases kids with a chainsaw (w/o the like … chain … or w/e … so it’s not actually Dangerous) around halloween
he’s generally never doing good, both mental health wise and morally.
would probably steal candy from a baby for the fun of it.
i don’t know if there’s a good to him, deep down, and i don’t know if he sees any issues with himself either !! nothing really breaks through to him anymore, the only person who ever really made him stop and Think about his actions was tatiana.
kinda introverted, recluse type who doesn’t rly like most people or going out, but he’ll go to parties if it means he’ll be high as shit.
pretty observant. likes to analyze people even though he’s probably not … fully right.
wanted connections !!

week 2 post
Something that has made a huge impact on the world in the last 50 years is social media. Social medias are websites or applications that enable people to create and share content. It has virtually taken over the world in a sense that everyone uses some platform of social media whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Tinder or other dating apps, and so many more. Social media has become really a staple in everyday society whether you’re posting picture, videos, telling someone happy birthday, or finding a date there’s some form of social that almost everyone uses on a daily. There are even social medias targeted towards young children such as Kids Youtube and Tik Tok which allows even youth to view, post, and like content from a young age. I think social media is great and when it was created I don’t think anyone expected it to blow up like it has but it also has its downfalls. I think social media, when used for good purposes, can be something that everyone should use. Things like posting pictures for your family that is far away or videos for your grandma to view are such pure reasons to use social media and to spread joy. Social media also provided a whole new network of job and ways for people to make a living such as Youtube creators and influencers. This however can be dangerous as people, especially younger creators, are performing more and more risky and dangerous stunts in order to keep their viewers and make their living. However, there are many people who use social medias to spread negativity or cause harm. Things such as catfishing have arisen in the use of social media because it is so easy to fake who you are and you can make yourself into virtually whoever you want to be. This also allows for scenarios of grown adults communicating with teenagers and getting personal information out of them and then causing physical harm to them because no one really knows who anyone is. Social media also allows for people to have an open forum where they can discuss views on topics with other people who have similar or different opinions which is good for people who don’t have many people to communicate these opinions to in their day to day lives. I think it is kind of scary how dependent a lot of us are on social media and how when they aren’t working correctly it can cause an uproar. I think so much of the youth has become almost addicted to social media and it is really taking over our world, I mean you can do anything from grocery shop to post a picture of your cat. Social media has in a sense cut out lot of face to face communication because people don’t have to leave their homes or pick up their phones to talk to someone they can just direct message someone. This could be serious problem for the future because if social media goes down then so many people will lose their jobs and many people will just be at a loss without it.

……………………………………………………………………
It was a slow June day on the Pediatric Ward at the Children's Hospital where Alex worked in Kansas City. Ever since the pandemic, things had slowed down, although he still had his regular surgical patients.
“Hey Marco,” Alex said, coming into the room of the teenage patient. He had assisted in a leg amputation due to cancer on the kid a few days ago and was eager to see how he was progressing.
“Hey, Dr. Alex, do you have Tik Tok?” Marco asked as he still looked at his phone but even bothered to glance at Alex as those little clips of music played.
“Nope,” Alex said as he checked over the kid’s vitals and pulled the bandage back to look at the incision. “Everything looks good. Are you having any pain?”
“Not really, you guys got me on the good stuff,” Marco replied, giving him a nod as his mask hid his smile, and Alex could tell that he was a little bit out of it. “Okay, but you have got to see this one. I think it's you?”
Alex's eyebrows came together. He didn't know anybody in his life that would make a Tik Tok of him. Except maybe Zola, but according to Meredith, she mostly just made dance videos. Nonetheless, he went over to Marco’s bedside and waited for him to pull up the video expecting to see Zola. Alex was, however, surprised when a video of him and Jo popped up.
“I'll never forget you,” the artist sang over the video. “They said we'd never make it.”
The video was of the two of them on their wedding day as they kissed and then turned to the crowd, all smiles, and the little caption read. “To the man who left me in a letter, thanks for the gift.”
The video changed and suddenly, it was a video of Jo sitting in a rocker in the loft holding a baby. She smiled at the camera before tilting it down to the baby in her arms, who looked up at the camera with newborn colored big blue eyes from where she was swaddled in a pink blanket.
“My sweet joy, always remember me.”
“Sorry, man,” Marco said, having read the expression on Alex's face. “The videos are funny but, it's a sucky way to find out you got a kid.”
Alex just stood there in shock as the video replayed again before he grabbed the phone. He waited for the video of her and the baby to play again before he paused it. He couldn't believe it. Jo had their daughter. She must have been pregnant when he left. Jo had gone through a pregnancy, and high-risk preterm labor, and now she was taking care of a medically fragile preemie, their preemie baby girl, all alone. All because he had made the dumbass decision to move to Kansas without even talking to her. Because he had left, Jo and their daughter were alone.
Their preemie daughter. The baby girl didn't look very big, she was definitely a preemie, and she was still on supplemental oxygen with oxygen cannula tubes in her nose. His mind filled with the possibilities of any health complications their daughter could’ve had, from brain bleeds, lung issues, hip dysplasia, or congestive heart failure, and so on.
Why didn’t Meredith tell him? Although, they hadn’t spoken since he left. Of all the people he thought would tell him if he had a daughter, Meredith was at the top of his list. He understood why Jo didn't want to tell him, although the fact that she didn't still hurt. The fact that Meredith, his best friend in the world, didn't tell him that he had a daughter, hurt even more. A sense of karma came over him as he wondered if this was how Jo felt when she found out about the twins.
He let the video reply again and stopped it on Jo and the baby. Jo was dressed in a tie-dye T-shirt with her hair thrown up in a bun. She looked tired but happy as she showed off the baby in her arms. Alex thought she was absolutely beautiful, as beautiful as she looked the day he said goodbye to her.
He remembered what she looked like when he turned back to look at her, one last time, after he made it through security. Her dark hair was flowing over her shoulders in beautiful waves, and she had a gorgeous smile on her face. She excitedly waved to him and blew him a kiss before the crowd surrounded him, and she disappeared from his view. The image of her smile as she blew him a kiss had replayed in his mind over and over again the past six months.
He just stared at the photo of her for a couple of minutes as the ache in his heart consumed him. He had a heartache, a longing for her since he left, and he had carried it around every day. He missed her more than he had ever missed anyone. He missed her more than words could describe. He missed her more than anything else in this world and every day, he fought the urge to go back to her.
Now he had a reason to go back because she had had their daughter. Their beautiful, wonderful little girl. She already looked a little bit like Alexis with her little tuffs of blond hair. Alex couldn't stop staring at them in the video. He tried to quickly do the math, he had left six months ago so, but she must have been pregnant before then, although the baby looked small, about 5 lb or so. It was June now, so Jo had to have gotten pregnant in November or October. Maybe she knew before he left, maybe she didn’t. They were so focused on arranging the witnesses for Meredith’s trial, and he was so busy working at Pac North before he left. Some days he barely saw her except for when he crawled into bed.
That was the thing that he regretted most, that he didn't spend enough time with her, which was why, the week after Meredith’s trial, before he left, he spent as much time with Jo as he could. He visited her on her lunch breaks, he was there when she got home, he made dinner with her, and watched TV with her on the couch, and he made love to her every night. At the time, he had lied and said it was so he could spend as much time with her before he went to visit his mom, but he wanted one last perfect week with her before he broke both of their hearts. The memories of that week, of Jo’s beautiful smile, were something he thought fondly of as he slept alone in his one-bedroom apartment.
“Can I have my phone back now? I can send you the video if you want?” Marco said as his words brought Alex out of his head.
“Umm yeah,” Alex said as he handed the phone back to Marco, still in shock at the fact that he and Jo had a daughter. “Please send that to me.”
He was absolutely floored at the fact that Jo had had their baby, as Marco sent him the video. Alex quickly clicked on it and downloaded the app as his feet carried him out of the room. As he waited for the app to download, he wondered if Jo had posted any other videos. As he found a quiet spot in the halls, the app loaded, and he clicked the link and followed the icon to Jo's page. There he was greeted with a handful of videos. Some of them were of Jo dancing with Levi or by herself, but there were one or two videos of their daughter.
One was of their daughter, which was a series of photos to the song, you're my sunshine. The photos started off when the baby was in the incubator, looking no bigger than his hand, and Alex guessed that she was about 26 weeks old. Alex looked over every photo, every video of the little girl. He was so distracted by the photos and the videos of the baby that he almost ran into a nurse. Alex quickly apologized before he came out of his daze.
He had to go back to Seattle. He had to see Jo and their daughter. He had to be there for them. He had missed so much of her life already, including Jo’s pregnancy and her first breath, her first days of life, and he was filled with guilt and regret. Alex ran over to the lounge to get his things, cleaning out his locker while he quickly called the chief of surgery and quit on the spot. Alex hated this job anyway, he loved the kids, and he wanted to make sure that his patients, including Marco, were okay, but he needed to go home.
Alex rushed over to the apartment he had in Kansas City. He had been staying there since the start of the pandemic. He and Izzie had agreed that since he was still working in direct contact with patients at the hospital, he would move out and get a separate apartment as they didn't want to risk transmitting this to the kids. Izzie had stayed home with the twins as with her job in oncology, she could do mostly remote consults, with only having to go on to the clinic on an as-needed basis with covid negative patients. Alex had been video chatting with them every single night and had distance visits with them at the park every Saturday and Sunday. Although, he had been considering getting his own place since before the pandemic started. He thought that he could make it work with Izzie, but the two of them were never in love.
It only made his homesickness all that much harder, and the urge to go back to Seattle all that much larger. The one thing Alex had realized during this pandemic was that he didn't have to be in Kansas to be a good dad to his kids. He could see them part-time and visit them on the weekend, and he could do that from Seattle. Lord knows he was rich enough to fly out every weekend. He had made up his mind as he packed up his car with everything he would need to move back to Seattle. Alex got in his car, setting his GPS for the address of the loft in Seattle. As he drove past the endless crop fields, he smiled in anticipation of soon seeing their daughter and his wife, it never did feel right to call her his ex-wife.
……………………………………………………………………
Going back to Seattle was like coming home. Everything was so familiar in Seattle, whereas everything had been so foreign in Kansas, even though he had been there for months. The drive over to the Loft was just muscle memory as he allowed himself to enjoy his surroundings. The thought of seeing Jo and his daughter filled him with excitement, despite how he knew that Jo may not be happy to see him. He hoped that she would at least let him meet his daughter, and then maybe they could work out a schedule where he could see her.
As he pulled up to the Loft, he couldn't help but sigh in relief. He was home. For the first time since he left, he was home. He had stopped back at the hospital and had tested negative before he left for Seattle as he knew with a medically fragile child, he would have to be extra careful. Still, he grabbed a mask and hoped that he would at least get to hold her.
He ran into the apartment complex and took the stairs two at a time up to the metal gate that led to the laundry room. It was locked, as usual, so he used his key but stopped in front of the familiar red door. He paused and knocked because although it had once been his home, it wasn't anymore, and Jo earned as much privacy as she wanted. Alex heard wrestling and footsteps with muffled voices until the door slid open, but instead of Jo on the other side, he was greeted with Schmitt in a grey mask.
“Oh boy,” Levi said, before he turned around, and Alex followed his gaze until his eyes landed on Jo holding their baby.
For a second, he froze as he stared at her. There she was, standing before him, no longer a memory but real. She looked better than the photos and videos he had seen, even as she looked tired with her hair up in a messy bun. She was wearing his grey Iowa Hawkeyes t-shirt, which definitely had spit up on it despite the burp cloth thrown over her shoulder.
The little girl was dressed in a blue onesie with pink flowers and green leaves, and she had a matching bow on her head. She also had the oxygen cannula tubs taped to her cheeks and had the heart and oxygen saturation monitor wires trailing down to the floor. Jo’s lips were parted as she stared at him. Alex wanted to take a step forward, to go to her, to see their baby in her arms with his own eyes, but he kept his feet planted in the entryway as he just stared at them. The girl that was possibly his daughter and his wife.
As he thought about it more and more throughout the long drive from Kansas to Seattle, he questioned whether this baby was truly his. However, the video was pretty damning evidence. Then again, Jo had always had such a soft spot for the little orphan NICU babies, and sometimes he joked about her adopting one, so maybe she finally did. Somewhere in Montana, he thought about turning around and going back or just calling Meredith and demanding an answer, but he couldn't bear the thought of going back to Kansas. He knew he belonged in Seattle, regardless of whether she had Jo or a daughter.
“Is she, is she mine?” Alex asked, finally finding his voice.
“No,” Jo said with a shake of her head as she looked over at Levi. He went back over to her and she quickly transferred the baby into his arms. Alex was confused at first until Jo pulled up the T-shirt to reveal her rounded pregnant stomach. “But this one is.”
……………………………………………………………………
From the moment Jo laid eyes on Alex, all she could do was stare at him. She felt relief that he was finally home. He was finally going to meet the child growing inside of her. He would be there for her and for their child. Alex was finally home. Yet, the relief and excitement faded as reality set in. She felt so betrayed because he had left without a single thought to her, nor the child growing inside her.
He seemed to stare at her as she handed Luna off to Levi. She put a hand on her belly as she felt her baby kick again. From the moment she laid eyes on Alex, the baby had done flip flops inside of her as if they could sense that their father was near.
Alex still seemed to be in shock, but so was she. Jo didn't even know why he would assume that Luna was his. Nor why he didn't already know she was pregnant, especially after she had left so many calls, voicemails, and text that had gone unanswered. He was back, but only for their child, not for her. Yet, seeing as they were one in the same for now, Jo knew that she owed it to her child to allow their father into their life.
“We should talk,” Jo said as she finally let her shirt drop before she walked towards Alex.
Alex just nodded as he continued to stare at her. His eyes flashed between her face and her belly, looking at her and their unborn child. He finally seemed to come back to reality and looked around the room, his eyes glancing at Levi and Luna.
“Is this a good place to talk? I tested negative before I left, and I drove straight here from Kansas. I haven't seen anyone since I left two days ago,” Alex seemed so unsure and so worried as he looked at her. It was so strange to see it on the man she knew was always so confident even while groveling with her.
“I can take Luna for a drive, it might help her fall asleep anyway?” Levi offered, already moving around. He gathered Luna’s things to transfer her oxygen to the portable tank they kept in a backpack by the door and placed her in the car seat.
Jo knew the loft had changed so much since he had left. It looked so different yet still the same where his weights used to be there was now a twin bed set up with a dresser and a few other things as Levi had moved in. Where the dining room was, there was now a crib, a dresser with a changing station, and a rocking chair where his lounger used to be. Next to a rocket-shaped shelf, a rocketship carpet completed the space themed Nursery that Jo had set up for Luna and their baby.
Alex seemed to watch her every move as Jo helped Levi get Luna in the car seat and send her off with a kiss and a wave. Levi gave her one last look, but Jo just gave him a nod before he closed the door behind him. She had been so thankful to have him around. Even in the midst of covid with everything else they all had going on in their lives. Between being pregnant and adopting Luna, he, Meredith, and Link had all been there for her. Jo had still felt so lonely because the one person that was supposed to be there wasn't.
She put a hand on her stomach as she felt the baby do flip flops inside of her, so she rubbed up and down. It always seemed to calm the anxious baby inside of her. Alex took a step forward, and his hand moved as if he wanted to reach out and touch her, but then his hand quickly dropped, and he just looked down at the floor. She wanted him to feel their baby, but she could tell that he was hesitant to touch her again.
Jo went over to the couch, their couch. The one that she bought for him, that they had spent countless nights on together. She fell in love with him on this couch, she made love to him on this couch, hell she was pretty sure they made the baby on this couch. She sat down on one end and moved away the pile of Luna’s laundry and the extra pillows and blankets to create a space for both of them. She wasn’t sure she was ready to have him so close, but it was just instinct and habit and the love she would always have for him. Jo patted the spot she made for him next to her as he slowly made his way over to her.
He still seemed to be a little weary, and she could tell that he was nervous as he sat down next to her, and looked at her bump. “How far along are you?”
Jo knew he was asking just to be sure, but she guessed that he had already done the math in his head. “24 weeks as of yesterday.”
“Are you, are they, are you both healthy?” Alex asked as he rubbed his hands up and down his pant legs as he tried to find something to do with his restless hands.
“Yeah, we're both fine, she’s measuring big, but Carina says we've got the dates right. She looked perfect at the 20-week anatomy scan and at the ultrasound I had a few days ago,” Jo said with a nod as she continued to rub her belly up and down.
“She, it's a girl?” Alex asked, catching her words as he looked up at her with a little bit of a smile.
“Yeah,” Jo said, watching his smile as his eyes seemed to light up. “It's a girl.”
Alex looked so happy and his eyes were bright as he laughed. It was the expression she imagined he would have when she told him she was pregnant. She was happy to see how excited he was for their daughter. He reached out again and put his hand on her belly. She remembered the way that he pulled her in for their first kiss and the shock of electricity between them. It had been pulling them together ever since. She felt that shock now and she knew Alex felt it too as he looked up and briefly caught her eye before he looked down at his hands again. His hands on her body for the first time in six months were an instant comfort. She immediately relaxed as she moved his hand to where the baby was kicking. As his hand settled, his thumb absentmindedly rubbed her belly and Jo relaxed further back into the couch.
“Hi baby girl, it's your Daddy. I'm so excited to meet you,” Alex said, letting out a little laugh as she kicked his hand and he leaned down to kiss her belly without even a second thought.
This was how it was meant to be, the two of them, together for this pregnancy. For a moment, Jo pretended that he had never left.
“She's strong like you,” Alex said, looking up at her as the baby continued to kick his hand. “And like Alexis too. She'll climb anything and she runs all over the farm.”
At the mention of his children, Jo immediately froze up. She didn't resent them, but they were the reason why he left. They were a constant reminder that she was in this alone. Alex felt the tension in her body as his thumb stopped moving and he looked up at her.
“Jo, I know I left, and I'm sorry…”
“No,” Jo said, instantly getting up and putting some space between them. “You don't get to do that. You don't get to try and walk it all back with I'm sorry. You left me, Alex.”
The tears instantly spring into her eyes as she began to cry, and her breath hitched as she tried to inhale. She just felt so broken, so hurt by everything that he did. Alex just looked up at her with his big puppy dog eyes. He gave her the same eyes in the front yard of Amelia and Owen's house all those years ago after he assaulted Deluca. She knows that he had grown up again since then, but after what he did, she doesn't know how things could ever go back to how they were before.
“After everything we've been through, after you promised me again and again, every day that we were together, that you would never leave and then you left!” Jo said, her voice rising as she yelled at him. “You left me pregnant, and alone, and scared. I called your mom and I knew that you weren't in Iowa. You didn't return any of my calls or my texts. You didn't even text Meredith back. I thought you were dead or that worse, that you were cheating on me, and then to find out that you were cheating, it broke me, Alex! But I couldn't let it break me because I was pregnant, and I had to keep it together for our child, and I did. You left and I, I carried on. I went to work, I went to my doctor's appointment, I built a nursery, and I got support from our friends, but not from you. I did everything without you. I am so furious at you for leaving. I am so hurt that you cheated on me. I am so broken because you left. You ignored me and you ignored our daughter. I am more hurt for them than I am for myself because they didn't ask for any of this. I get you leaving to be with your kids, but you had a kid here with me, and you ignored her. I sent you texts and photos and calls and emails, I sent you a freaking letter Alex, and you just ignored all of it!”
“What? Wait, Jo, hold up,” Alex said, standing up and shaking his head as he closed his eyes. “What phone calls, what letters, what texts, I haven't heard from you in months. The last text I got from you was a week after I left asking me if I was okay and how my mom was doing?”
Jo paused, gently wiping away her tears as she just stared at him as confused as he was. There was no way he was lying to her. He looked so genuine and Jo knew that regardless, Alex would never lie to her. She knew him almost as well as she knew herself. Alex Karev was many things, but he wasn't a liar. He dropped everything to be there for his and Izzy's kids and she knew he would never ignore his daughter with her.
“When you stopped returning my calls, I got worried.  As soon as I found out that I was pregnant, I called you, and when you didn't pick up, I sent you a photo of the pregnancy test and then later of the ultrasound photo.  I left you voicemail after voicemail, and I kept texting you, right up until I got your letter and the divorce papers, back in early February. I sent them back to you with a letter telling you that I was pregnant. When you didn't reply, I thought, I don't know.”
“Jo, I swear to you I never got any of your phone calls or your texts, or the letter, look, check my phone if you don't believe me,” Alex said, as he looked at her holding his phone out to her and she knew without having to see it, he was telling the truth.
Regardless, Jo took the phone and opened it up. The lock screen was a picture of Alexis and Eli. She paused as she stared at them. She had never seen a photo of them before, but the second she did, she knew they were Alex’s kids. Eli was the spitting image of his father and Alexis had his eyes and his smile. They were so beautiful, and she knew that he had instantly fallen in love with them the moment he had seen them because she fell a little bit in love with them too. The two little mini Karevs staring up at her were absolutely adorable and innocent in all this.
Jo put in the password that was still the same and quickly scrolled through his text until she found her name. Sure enough, there was the text that she had sent months ago, asking about Helen, and then nothing. She clicked on the little sidebar and quickly discovered the reason why.
“You blocked me,” Jo said, crossing her arms as she handed the phone back to him.
“What? Alex asked, his eyebrow shot up in surprise as he looked at the phone. “I swear I didn't.”
“If not you, then who? Your other ex-wife or your current wife or girlfriend or whatever the hell she is to you,” Jo couldn't help the malice in her voice and the hatred she had for the woman who had torn them apart with her actions. She was so angry at them both, but especially Alex as he was her husband, and he had made the choice to cheat on her.
“Izzie, fuck,” Alex said as he turned away from her and let out a cry of frustration. “I knew it was weird when I hadn't heard from you. She said it was for the best, but I knew, I knew you wouldn't just stop texting me, but then I thought that maybe you figured it out already, and I don't know.”
He clenched his jaw and looked like he wanted to throw or kick something. Jo grabbed one of Luna’s stuffed animals from the couch and held it out to him. He looked back at her with soft eyes as they both remembered when they used to throw things at the wall together. That memory seemed like a lifetime ago. Alex grabbed the toy and threw it against the wall. It made a satisfying clunk as it hit the metal doors of the cabinet. Alex let out a heavy sigh, having gotten all his frustration out before he sat back down on the couch.
“I tried to teach that technique to Eli and Alexis, but Izzie blew up on me for it. She said it would teach them to be violent and throw things, but honestly, it's the only thing that ever calmed me down. You were the only one who understood my anger,” Alex said as he looked over at her before shaking his head and looking away. “This whole situation it's so messed up. It was all a mistake.”
Jo looked down at the situation in her belly as her baby kicked her hand again. This whole thing was a mess. She didn't want to put Alex in the same position that Izzie had, having to choose between the life that he loved and his responsibilities to his child.
“Look, Alex, we’re fine. We're both doing fine without you. When you left, I stepped up and I figured out how to do this on my own. I've done everything alone, and you know what, I'm pretty damn good at it. So good that when I fell in love with Luna, I didn't even think twice about applying to adopt her and becoming her foster mom. I'm good on my own. I can raise our daughter without you.”
“But you don't have to, Jo. I want to be there for you and for our daughter, for all of it, I want to be on the phone with you for all your appointments, and I want you to hold my hand while you're in labor and screaming at me for knocking you up. I want to be there for our daughter's first breath and when she starts walking and talking. From her first day of school to when she graduates and goes off to college and every sleepless night in between. I want to be there for you and for her,” Alex said as he pleaded with her, all but begging on his knees for her. “I am so sorry, Jo. I swear to God, I didn't know that you were pregnant. The other day this kid showed me this Tik Tok of you and Luna with a photo of me saying that I was her father. That's why I thought she was mine.”
Jo couldn't help the smile as she let out a little laugh and shook her head. “ I downloaded Tik Tok during the pandemic and kind of got hooked. I thought it would just be a funny video for our friends and I don't know. I guess a part of me did think that you would find it, or at least I hoped that you would.”
“If I had known and if I had seen your messages, I would have never....” Alex trailed off as he shook his head, looking down, still ashamed.
“Would you have left?” Jo asked, her voice just a whisper. She knew the answer, but she needed him to say it.
“Leaving Seattle was the worst mistake I've ever made,” Alex said, looking up with her voice and his eyes full of such hurt. “I love my kids, I do, but Kansas isn't my home. Izzie and I, we. I didn’t sleep with her while we were married, I want you to know that. However, once we were divorced, I did try to start a relationship with her, but we were so different she didn't get it. She didn’t get me, not like you do.”
As Alex talked just looked up at her, his eyes full of longing as he got up and came over to her. They were so close that Jo could smell the familiar scent of his cologne and she could see the sparks of gold in his eyes. Her body involuntarily relaxed as he got closer. She longed for him too. All she wanted was to be in his arms again, to wrap her own arms around his neck, to hold him and have him hold her. However, the distance they created between them kept them apart.
“And now, with the pandemic, I barely see them.” Alex continued with a shrug. “I live in a crappy one-bedroom apartment in Kansas City and it sucks. Izzie stays home with them and I only see them through video calls. They meet me at the park on the weekends, even then we stay six apart and they miss me, but they're okay without me. I'm not okay without you and I know you're not okay without me either.”
It's a bold statement, but they both know it’s the truth. Jo felt the tears collect in her eyes again as Alex mirrored her expression, looking about two seconds away from falling apart as well. Just the acknowledgment that she needs him, that he needs her, and that they need each other, was overwhelming.
“I never wanted to do this without you. Every time we talked about kids, I was so terrified, but I knew that I could do it if I had you by my side. When you left, I realized that I could do this regardless, but I don't want to do it alone. I don't want to do any of this without you.”
Jo dissolved into a mess of tears as they streamed down her face. Alex took a quick step forward and he wrapped his arms around her as she truly fell apart. She fell apart in Alex's arms and buried her head in his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his body and feeling his lips against her head. His arms instantly wrapped around her waist and it was everything she had wanted for the past six months. It was in that moment she realized that Alex was truly back. She cried even harder, especially as she felt his chest shake under her as his body was wracked with sobs of his own.
Alex pulled her over to the couch and she sat on his lap as he wrapped his arms around her. They just sat together and cried. Eventually, they cried themselves out and just sat together in silence. Jo curled her fingers into his shirts and pressed her forehead against his shoulder. Alex ran his fingers through her hair like he always used to do as his other hand rested on her belly, feeling their baby move under his hand. She inhaled the sweet scent of his cologne and felt completely surrounded by him. For the first time and six months, Jo felt like she could breathe again.
Everything was how it was always supposed to be. Even if it was just for a moment, it was like a spell had been cast upon them, freezing them in time and allowing them to have just this moment together. Between being pregnant and having a newborn, Jo was exhausted, and she knew Alex hadn't slept since he left Kansas. They both fell asleep in each other's arms on their couch, truly resting for the first time in six months.
They must have slept for a few hours as by the time they woke up, the sun was low on the horizon, streaming golden beams in through the windows. For a moment, Jo pushed away the harsh memories as she woke up in Alex's arms. She pressed her nose into his neck and he seemed to forget it too as he laid a kiss on her forehead. They heard the door squeak open and finally got up. Jo could feel Levi’s eyes on them, but he didn't say anything about it.
“So we went for a little car ride, but she took a nap. Then after she woke up, I took her to the park, and we just watched the birds and sat on the grass and hung out,” Levi said as he lifted Luna out of her car seat and Jo greeted her girl. “I had some ice cream, and Luna had her bottle. She ate about 3 oz and then proceeded to spit up all over me.”
“Oh did you have fun with Uncle Levi at the park,” Jo cooed at Luna as she held her close and pressed a kiss to her little head before inhaling her sweet baby scent.
Levi moved to transfer Lunas oxygen tubes back to her machine. They kept Luna’s oxygen machine next to the couch on the side of her nursery as the 25 ft. oxygen tubes allow them to move around her nursery, the living room, and even into the kitchen.
“Let me help,” Alex said as he stepped forward and quietly helped Levi set up the machine.
After they started a machine and sure that it was working, Levi escaped to the bathroom. He gave them one more look before he disappeared and turned on the fan as if to give them added privacy.
Luna seemed content as Jo smiled down at her oldest girl. Of all the hurt she’d had in the past six months, Luna had been a wonderful bright spot. Jo couldn't help but fall in love with her, especially after Val died. Jo felt the need to step up and take care of her. Besides, she couldn't imagine sending her into the foster care system, so she had started the process of adopting her. The baby in her belly made her a mother, but Luna made her a mom. She made Jo realize that she could do this, but as she looked over at Alex, she knew she didn't have to do this alone.
Alex leaned against the couch as he watched them with curiosity. As Jo turned around to look at him, he smiled at the little girl in her arms. She walked over to him as he tentatively stepped closer before Jo transferred Luna into his arms.
“Alex, this is Luna, my little liver baby,” Jo said, smiling down at Luna with such affection as she rubbed her thumb over Luna’s cheek. “She grew on the liver of a patient that came into the ER. I operated on her mom, Val, and Carina delivered her. When Val didn't make it, I decided to adopt her. It was kind of impulsive, but I just looked at her, and I knew that she was mine. She came home with me a few weeks ago. She loves the little star mobile that I hung above her crib, and she only falls asleep to the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song. She hates bath time and loves snuggles, so I babywear her all the time. I talked to her, and she just stares at me, but I know that she’s listening. I love her so much and she's just, she’s perfect.”
Alex just stared at her, taking in her words with a large smile before he looked down at Luna. She waved her arms up at him, reaching out for him as he reached down to grab her finger and shook her little hand. “It's nice to meet you, Miss. Luna. I'm Alex, I'm your Sissy's dad, but I look forward to getting to know you as well.”
“Autumn, I was thinking of calling her Autumn, Attie for short, since I'm due in October,” Jo said, putting a hand on her belly and feeling her baby kick again.
“Autumn, that sounds perfect, and I guess I owe you full naming rights,” Alex said as he smiled back at her before looking down at Luna again and sticking his tongue out at her as she cooed.
There was something about seeing Alex with her daughter that was just so perfect, and After everything that had happened today, Jo found herself falling back in love with him again. It was one of the reasons why she fell in love with him in the first place because he was so good with the kids, and he was kind to her after he found out about her past. He was gentle, and kind, and understanding throughout this whole thing. He never once blamed her or tried the force his way back into her life. He just wanted to be there for her and his daughter. He was the Alex that she had fallen in love with. Although she knew, he was still the Alex that had left her.
Luna fussed and began to cry as Jo stepped forward to take her back. She waved her arms around and reached up and pulled out her oxygen cannulas as Jo cursed.
“How well does she do off oxygen?” Alex said, quickly moving to put the tubes back in her nose as he looked over at her oxygenation monitor. He swayed back and forth as Luna continued to fuss and throw her arms around.
“Okay, for about 20 minutes or so. She had a branchial cyst, so they had to resect part of her lung. Hayes thinks she’ll have to be on oxygen for a few more months or so,” Jo said as she went over to Luna’s dresser where she kept all of her medical equipment and grabbed the extra tape and things so they could redo the tape.
Alex set her down on the bed as Jo came back over. They worked together as Alex used the wipe to remove the stickiness for the existing tape while Jo held Luna’s arms to keep her from pulling it out again. Alex put the nose part in Luna’s nostrils before he gently taped down both sides of the tubes on her cheeks, and Jo adjusted the tubes positions. It wasn’t the first time they had redone an oxygen cannula together, and they worked as a team so effortlessly. It was the same way that they used to work together at the hospital.
As they finished, Jo picked up Luna and bounced her as she calmed down. With Luna now calm and content, Jo set her in the bassinet at the end of her bed. She just looked at him and felt a pull to him as she took a step towards him. Alex’s lips parted as she pressed up against him, as close as she could with her baby bump in between them. She reached out to put her hand on his cheek as he closed his eyes and tilted his head into her hand. She knew that he missed her touch as much as she missed him. Jo couldn’t help but wrap her arms around him as she leaned in for a kiss. They deepened the kiss as he wrapped his arm around her, and Jo moaned into his lips. Alex eagerly pressed his lips against her, and it was like coming home. Nothing about the Loft, or the hospital, or anything in Seattle had felt like home since Alex left, but his lips, they felt like home.
They didn't break apart until they heard the squeaky door to the bathroom open again as Levi appeared. Jo turned around and pressed her fingers to her lips as if it would keep the kiss on her skin. She glanced over at Levi as he looked between them and instantly read their body language. For someone who could never figure out if a guy liked him back, Levi sure as hell read Alex and Jo like a book.
“So I'm guessing you're back,” Levi asked, raising his eyebrows and looking between the two of them. “Does that mean you're staying here? Do I have to move out? Like I know I could move in with Taryn if I needed to, but we're in the middle of a pandemic and her roommate is really mean!”
Jo wasn't sure as she looked over at Alex, who just shrugged. “It's up to you, whatever you're comfortable with. I can get a hotel room or maybe stay with Meredith?”
“Well, I guess you can stay. Besides, I need someone to send out at 2:00 in the morning when I get a craving for burgers or when Luna runs out of diapers, but maybe you should sleep on the couch for now,” Jo said as she bit her lip as she looked over at him, but Alex just nodded.
Alex moved around the apartments as if he had never left as he began to make dinner for them. Jo picked up Luna again and sat down in the rocking chair in her nursery space as Levi started to help Alex relearn where everything was after he had organized the fridge. An easy banter started up between the three of them and Jo put a hand on her belly as Autumn started to do flip-flops again while Luna was the opposite as her eyes fluttered close. Jo held one of her daughters in her arms as she put her hand on her belly where her other daughter was. She looked up at her ex-husband and baby daddy as he made dinner with her gay best friend and little brother. It was the weirdest family dynamics she had ever had, but she was content.
……………………………………………………………………
Later that night, Jo stared up at the skylights. She had just gotten Luna back down after a bottle, and now she was trying to return to sleep herself. Yet, sleep evaded her and part of that was due to Autumn doing flips in her belly. She was currently swimming around like a little fish and keeping Jo up as they pressed against her organs. Jo took a deep breath, which quickly turned into a yawn before she realized she had to use the restroom. Her quick trip to the toilet only made Autumn more active. Jo sighed as she laid back down and she rubbed her belly up and down. This usually helped to calm Attie down, but tonight she must have felt particularly acrobatic as she moved around. Jo wasn't sure what she did, but suddenly, she felt a twinge of pain in her stomach as Autumn kicked her, hard.
“Aw fuck,” Jo swore as she rubbed her hand against her lower abdomen.
“Jo, you alright?”
She jumped and sat up as she looked over to see Alex sitting up on the couch. “Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. It's just the baby moving around and she kicked a little too hard. I'm not used to having to be quiet as Levi usually puts earplugs in at night, and Luna will sleep through anything.”
To her surprise, Alex just chuckled as he got up and came over to her, sitting next to her on the bed and putting his hands on her belly. “Hey, Attie, you be nice to your mom, yeah?”
Instantly the kicks in her belly became softer as Attie quieted down. Jo raised her eyebrows in surprise as she looked up at him. Throughout her pregnancy, no one had been able to get her to calm down so quickly.
“Wow, I can't believe that worked,” Jo said as Alex smiled, he pulled his hand away, but Attie’s kicking started up again, and she got Jo good in her kidneys as she cringed and held her side. “Or not.”
“Lay back,” Alex instructed as she complied and laid back down as he adopted that adorable grumpy look that she loved so much. He put his hands back on her belly and leaned forward to whisper to Autumn. “Hey you, I thought we agreed that you were going to be nice to your mom? It's been a long day, and she agreed to let my sorry ass stay with her. I think the least that you and I can do is let her get some rest.”
Instantly Attie calmed down to the sound of her father's voice and Alex looked up at her. He seemed so proud that he had gotten his daughter to calm down and looked up at her with a smile.
“Thank you,” Jo whispered, letting out a breath of relief.
“No problem, besides, it's the least I can do as I’m part of the reason why she's kicking you,” Alex said, as a soft look appeared on his face and he just seemed to stare at her for a moment.
She could tell that he was head over heels in love with her. She used to catch him with that look when she was on his service as an intern, and it was that same look he gave her when she met him at the end of the day when he worked at Pac North. It was the look he had given her all throughout their relationship and even on the day he left. After he walked through security, he turned around and gave her that look before he paused and waved at her before he disappeared into the crowd. Jo remembered that day like it was yesterday, just as she remembered the hurt of the letter that was still fresh in her heart.
After a moment, Alex got up again, but the second his hands left her belly, Autumn started up again, and Jo scrunched up her face, and she beckoned for him to come back. He instantly came back and put his hands on her belly. Once again, Autumn calmed back down as her hard kicks and flips became light flutters in her belly.
Jo let out a sigh as she reached out to grab his hand and gave it a squeeze. “Could you stay?”
“Are you sure?” Alex asked as he tilted his head just a little bit.
Jo just nodded because the truth was that she wasn't sure that she should let Alex back into her bed, but he seemed to be the only thing that calmed down their daughter. He crawled in bed behind her like he had done when they were together. As he moved back to his spot in the bed and laid behind her before he wrapped his arms around her to rest on her bump. She had missed being held by him like this. They were never one for cuddling, but she liked knowing that he was right there next to her. She missed the way that he used to roll over in the middle of the night and hold her close just for a moment.
Attie seemed to have calmed down for the night and Jo closed her eyes. Jo didn't know where they would go from there, but she trusted that he wasn’t going anywhere. She knew she shouldn't trust Alex again, but somehow she did. She always knew that he would be a good father and that it would be one of his best traits. He left her to be with his children, but a part of her knew that he wouldn't leave her child and, by extension, her. Jo would always allow Alex to love their daughter.
Alex seemed a little hesitant, but eventually, she felt him relax against her as he pressed a kissed her cheek just like he used to. Jo both loved it and hated it, as she felt a mixture of hurt and love for him right now. It wasn't something that she was unfamiliar with when she was with him. She knew there was still hurt and the need for healing, but the love was always there, and she wanted that love for her daughter. So she let him stay and fell asleep in his arms.

biography !!
okay so … born and raised in rochester, new york to the well known samuels family. preacher father, a mother, a twin sister born 15 minutes before him - aka tatiana samuels, who died back in january.
kinda … grew up as a really awkward, quiet kid? like … just didn’t really interact with other kids super well, preferred being alone and like … digging up bugs in the dirt. only friend was like … his own sister.
grew out of this as they got older, instead sort of … becoming a bit of a dick? to compensate for years of awkwardness? will bite the hand that feeds him. was a full on nuisance by middle school. tatiana was not, at least, noticeably.
has always been a fan of darker materials, y’know - grim and creepy, morbid shit. big fan of tim burton ever since he was a kid, which isn’t … a good look for a preacher’s son, but he’s never really felt ~in~ with the rest of his family, anyway.
drew disturbing pictures as a kid probably tbh that prompted one or two or five phone calls home 2 assure everything was fine.
has always been really … good at art, in general - from drawing to painting to playing with clay, that’s always been viktor’s Thing.
aNyWaYs. being tatiana’s twin brother was kinda hard sometimes. tatiana and him were near opposites besides their same mean-spirited trait. she was better in the public than he was, but viktor was arguably more talented than tatiana. they both loved each other deeply and found each other as competition for their parents’ attention - a rivalry, of sorts.
high school is when viktor really started to act out - started extreme, like losing his virginity in their church and vandalism around the neighborhoods. faked being possessed in the middle of sunday service. almost had an exorcism performed on him, probably.
the only redeemable trait was like … his sheer talent with art. was in a 3d art AP course, specialized in sculpting - could pretty much create anything he wanted with enough dedication.
because his parents would be focused on disciplining him for his antics, tatiana could sneak away and get away with stuff easier. so like, y’know, that’s on the bright-side of things.
never been particularly motivated to do much - wasn’t planning on attending lockwood but his parents kinda … did and sent in his application for him b/c they were Not on board with him Wasting Away (wanted him out of the house asap)
actually pretty smart !! just doesn’t like … want to apply himself ever. double majoring in english and visual arts because they’re like … two of his only interests :/ plus he wants to write and illustrate his own series of children books with a style similar to tim burton’s
he’d been experimenting since high school but college is where he really started to like … crack down on himself and figure himself out. was out as pan & nonbinary by his sophomore year of college, just … not to his family, necessarily. thinks tatiana always knew, but didn’t … really use it against him, blessedly enough
always felt like the whole twin - connection thing was … both wack and also not-wack? sometimes it felt believable but sometimes he had no idea what was going on in tatiana’s head. but he felt oddly transparent to her, always - like he was predictable to no one but her.
( also struggled heavily with his mental health, too ?? has manic and depressive episodes. will fixate on a sculpting project for six months and then purposely knock it off the table and destroy it in the matter of seconds once it’s finished for. no fucking reason. impulse spends A Lot. )
when her body was found, viktor went off the rails. ended up overdosing and being hospitalized where he spent the next like … however long months … until they deemed him better.
stayed out of school until very recently b/c he just … didn’t want to go back. didn’t want to deal with it. didn’t want to be known as the dead girl’s twin. but then his mom kinda just was like ‘u go back 2 school or god so help me’ n he was like FINE.
so ya !! viktor’s back after being gone since tatiana’s body was found. that’s it, that’s him, a lil glimpse of his life.
trying to finish his senior year b/c he … obviously left before he could.
finding out that it was george who killed tatiana has ultimately ... caused viktor to spiral. his lows are some of his lowest, his highs are ... very high, but very bad. unstable & unpredictable in his actions it’s ... a whole thing :/
personality !!
the human embodiment of a gremlin, fed after midnight. a goblin, if u will. one of those cats with a narrow head and big ass ears. that’s him.
b i g horror & halloween enthusiast. loves the old campy horror movies. probably has an abundance of masks from different movies. dresses like a grimy millennial beetlejuice more than he should. love those vertically striped pants!
fashion alternates between e-boy (would b tik tok famous if he were like … 17), millennial beetlejuice, and like … goth in a crop top and sweatpants. big fan of crop tops. big fan of sweatpants.
he can be fucking mean. petty, aggressive, instigator. will literally spit in ur face or no reason. kind of person who’ll stick his gum into other ppl’s hair. other than that he’s like … pretty okay. he’s not always mean, he’s just a dick like … 70% of the time lmao
i mean yeah okay he’ll call someone a stinky bitch for no reason except He Feels Like It And Believes It. it’s fine he’s fine, we’re fine.
despite the fact tht he’s probably getting into fights whenever - considers himself 2 be a lover n not a fighter but that’s just because he Fucks a lot. kind of uses it like a coping mechanism, like he’s this big fancy carnival show that’s like ‘come one, come all! fuck the dead girl’s twin brother!’ may have a problem w/ hypersexuality but it’s nothing he’s fully. aware of.
the preacher’s whore son, basically
like i said he’s pan & nb, switches between he and they pronouns but like … he has such a fragile grip on his identity that u could call him ‘dog-faced bitch’ and he’d turn like hey wassup :)
vastly impulsive, like i’ve mentioned … destroys his own creations 4 the fun of it, spends all his money on useless shit, will cheat on someone bc he feels like it. screams into the night sky frequently, like a cat in heat.
i mean he also creates useless shit for no reason too. spent six months sculpting a hollowed out tree the size of him and then took a sledgehammer to it.
dramatic fuck. used to play the organ at the church like … when no one was looking after him and service was about to start. just these creepy as melodies. would do the same thing at home on his keyboard w/ the organ setting whenever he got grounded until his parents took away his keyboard sadjfkg
won’t talk about his time away b/c it’s not rly anybody’s business but ofc nothing is sacred to the watershed app, y’know, nothing’s private.
still like - he absolutely refuses to talk about tatiana’s death and like, his mental health or his addiction (he’s fallen back into it tbh but it hasn’t gotten bad again … yet) or like … anything involving his own emotions
will literally just change the topic! abruptly, no warning, asks about the jonas brothers instead.
that being said he’s obsessed with tatiana’s death. tatiana was very much a rock for him, kinda dependent on her in a way? just … being there, y’know, kept him grounded.
so he obv became a shepherd bc he wants to know Everything there is abt the app, wants to be deep inside it, wanted to know Who Exactly Killed Tatiana and like … not saying he wants 2 commit murder but :/ yknow. he’s very upset.
emotionally unavailable while also like crying twice a day.
will tell you straight up what he wants from you, no bullshit, no beating around the bush - just blunt. if he wants to just fuck, nothing else, then that’s that. if he feels deviation he’ll ghost in like. less than a second. kinda awful like that! feels no shame.
but like … also is emotional ?? as shit ?? it’s confusing. he’ll cry on a whim and then flip u off if u try to console him or like. ask him anything. will bite you.
he goes to therapy but he generally fucks around and wastes most of the time until the therapist threatens to like … idk what therapists r allowed to threaten. to send him off to another therapist? idk.
likes being intimidating but like … not with his body or nothing ‘cos he’s a TWIG, but like … uses his love for horror n creepy shit to his advantage. has an abundance of fake blood. has channeled the energy of jack nicholson and used it on tatiana’s boyfriends before.
( also a big fan of sfx makeup, has dabbled in it)
probably chases kids with a chainsaw (w/o the like … chain … or w/e … so it’s not actually Dangerous) around halloween
he’s generally never doing good, both mental health wise and morally.
would probably steal candy from a baby for the fun of it.
i don’t know if there’s a good to him, deep down, and i don’t know if he sees any issues with himself either !! nothing really breaks through to him anymore, the only person who ever really made him stop and Think about his actions was tatiana.
kinda introverted, recluse type who doesn’t rly like most people or going out, but he’ll go to parties if it means he’ll be high as shit.
pretty observant. likes to analyze people even though he’s probably not … fully right.
connections to the victims !!
tatiana samuels / his twin sister, other half - the only one able to control viktor.
george craig iii / close family friends ... they could appreciate each other, when viktor wasn’t being an outright asshole.
hana williams / ‘friends’ with benefits, their relationship was rocky at best but she was a good lay. have often fought due to their clash in personalities and viktor’s history with christoph.
christoph wainwright / an ex-hook up, an infrequent occasion whenever christoph wanted to tick off hana. viktor was often on board, never the one to consider others’ feelings.
wanted connections !!
he lives alone currently but like … ex - roommates where viktor was just. a nightmare to live with.
feel like a lot of enemies is also a possibility !! viktor’s messy.
people that like … knew tatiana. dated tatiana, even, and viktor would pretty much try to intimidate / scare them at any given chance :/
close friends of tatiana too
people who hated tatiana but liked viktor. people who hated viktor but liked tatiana
people who take pity on him and he Hates it viciously and vocally.
a band of hooligan gremlin kids who do drugs and fuck shit up around town like they’re edgy teenagers even though they’re all early to mid 20s.
the girl he lost his virginity 2 in high school lmao … a distant memory
fellow rochester locals, from church or school or whatever
exes from the past !! good terms and bad terms, but i love bad terms a whole lot mainly b/c viktor’s a jackass.
don’t know if he’s soft towards anybody but we can try. we can Try.
friends, old friends, new friends, bad friends, good friends, close friends, frenemies, etc. etc. all of it
hookups !! so many hookups. fwbs, one night stands, whatever.
uuhhhh god. i don’t know. im so sleepy rn. people in the same major or similar majors.
maybe a ride or die.
people he’s a bad influence on / an enabler towards / all around toxic for them / each other.
people he’s fought !! people who’ve seen him get into random fights and were like ‘uh wtf’
fellow shepherds !!
literally anything im not picky.

TilTok: A Pedophiles Dream?
Unit 2 Discussion Blog Post

 Capturing Attention in Social Media
In and of itself social media is overused, from politics, to advertisement, to events happening, in your local area, missing person, to people showing their every move/daily activity, to the anniversary of a death of a loved, right down to posting quotes, and where they checked into. It is simply an attention seeker, good, bad, and some stuff is very unnecessary.   I’m like who cares, where you checked into or who you, had lunch or dinner with, or how much weight you can lift, or if you bought a new car. Some the post can be over the top. If is my belief that most people post for attention (Bradley et al. (2019) be it emotional or just to send information.  I’ve found some people post stuff, not only for attention, but to see how many likes, or followers they may have.  Then there are those that are addicted, and share their everyday life, not just on social media, but of the media itself. For example, The Kardashian; Kris Jenner, who is a savvy businesswoman, in a way used her families (her children) personal difficulties, to not only gain worldwide attention, but for a financial gain. So, now let me bring attention the to one of the newest app’s available to our youth, and has been of the news recently, due to the potential of child molesters/pedophiles.
The latest BuzzFeed New as, as of June 24, 2019, at 10:34 a.m. Kothe (2019) the engineering process have without a doubt turned Tik Tok into one of the fastest growing social media applications (Kothe, B., 2019) But this new app also comes with a dark side, known as sexual predators/predation (Kothe, B., 2019) Some how or another the major social media gurus have failed not only in this arena, but in others.  For example, enhancing privacy restrictions, and parental controls. The failure comes in a form of the social media giants Kothe (2019) not doing a through job of policing these programs (Kothe, B., 2019) This is not just media gossip, but a fact of life (Kothe, B., 2019) I have a 11 year-old who is fascinated with this app; so much so that she and I can’t even have a conversation without her flinging her arms, or lip-syncing some ridiculous song, and dancing.  It drives me crazy! In addition, I teach high school Chemistry, and that is all I see these young ladies do.  And they are addicted; it’s like a drug to gain some sort of validation, right down to perfection.  Then whoever (usually an anonymous name) either likes/dislikes or makes a nice/rude comment.  What these children don’t know is that some of the users are adults and are carefully watching these young children. I rarely watch the news, but on this night Tik Tok and pedophiles was one of the headlines. Some of the moves, are very sexual, Kothe (2019) and the dirty old men (as I like to call l them) are creeps in the background watching and have the audacity to send clear-cut messages as to what their intentions truly are.  The problem is that these are children, and they think “OMG, so and so likes, my video” without truly knowing who is in the background.
Maintaining Engagement in Social Media
As we all know the social media industry makes millions of dollars, but at what cost?  It is being used as a platform that is conducive to what it’s true intentions truly are, or is it a way to for financial gain, at potential risk of bullying, child, suicide, or a way for people to seen and heard, be it negative or positive.  I work in an inner city school in the Houston area, and one of the most disturbing things I have witnessed, is the amount physical fights that go on, and more importantly how the other students video the fights on their smart phones, and post on a social media site called, “Instagram”.  However, it’s a way for the school authorities to gain insight on how the fight originated.  So, in cases like this it’s a gift and curse.  Being that there are about 3 billion social media users worldwide Williams (2017-2018) many have described this the attention economy. From what I can tell the communications part, and what I mean by that the advertisement piece Bradley, Willis Jost & Tucker & Van Bavel (2017) Stieglitz, & Dang-Xuan (2013) Valenzuela, Pina, & Ramirez (2017) tier on the expression or one’s moral compass, and emotions, which has a huge increase in how and why things can go viral (Brady, Wills, Jost, Tucker, & Van Bavel, 2017; Stieglitz & Dang-Xuan, 2013; Valenzuela, Piña, & Ramírez, 2017) and campaigns for social change (Van Der Linden, 2017).
In Dominque’s case she was just looking for ideas that happened to relate the nail art painting.  She appeared to be fascinated with the results she found and amazed that money could be made. Dominque at the time was totally consumed with her findings, and social media happened to be a platform, for her to get the necessary information she needed.  Due to the overwhelming excitement she totally lost track of time, and forgot to get.   After eating she went directly back to her search for nail art.  Perhaps to see if there were other ways to make money.  In her case, I don’t believe she is a social media addict, as much as she used to gain useful insight on a craft she is considering.

nobody on this stupid fucking app actually knows what the issues with tik tok are, so i will list them 😌
- unlike other social media, the for you page never ends. you can scroll for days, weeks, or months, and it will never end. it's harder to put your phone down, bc you're always thinking that maybe your next favorite video will be next. it never will, obvi, but scrolling down your timeline in other social media apps, you will eventually find an end where there is no new content.
- the insane amount of extremism. the tik tok algorithm is very good. too good, if you're interested in any kind of political content, you will quickly be radicalized as the algorithm feeds you more and more extremist views. this mixed with the fact that the app is primarily young people and children, is a recipe for disaster.
- tik tok is actively and unapologetically racist, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist. if you exist on the platform as a poc, queer person, or disabled person, doing anything other than silly little dances or acting as inspiration porn, you will be regularly banned from posting. this affects people with 100 followers and 10million followers just the same.
that's all off the top of my head rn, i'm sure there's WAY more things. i just get annoyed when people criticize tik tok by saying "video formats are bad!! the children are dancing and i don't understand it!! they have different memes and i don't think they're funny because i'm seeing them out of context!!!" when there are very real and very harmful things wrong with the app.
i feel like to actually criticize tik tok, you need to understand the culture of the app. if you don't, you wind up comparing it to other social media websites. you cant. i see people say that tik tok is bad because hashtags work differently than on tumblr? or that you cant follow specific tops like on reddit?? the outsider reactions to tik tok is very strange.
