ok i've seen some posts about the tumblr alternative cohost but none that were actually helpful so!

(disclaimer: i am very new to this website. users who have been there longer can and should chime in with additions and/or corrections)

Cohost Introduction Post

What is cohost?

Cohost is a fledgling website that is essentially a tumblr clone, but with its own culture and site-specific features. It is also very much a work in progress. You are encouraged to talk in the cohost forum to suggest changes for devs, report bugs, and upvote other people's suggestions. This website WILL grow and change over time. And as such, I do not know if/when the information I share here will be outdated. Edit: To answer an ask I received, anyone can join cohost without an invite. It used to be invite-only. It is not this way anymore.

Is "adult content" allowed there?

Yes. Cohost is not on the app store, meaning that it is not subject to Apple's specifications. You can post illustrations, writing, and photographs (cohost does not support any video formats at this time, just gifs). Cohost has an elaborate filtering and trigger warning system (moreso than tumblr), and you can disable adult content for your entire account or for individual tags. I actually don't engage with the adult content at all on there. Visual CSEM (both real and fictional) is specifically forbidden (although frankly I think the guidelines could be stricter wrt written content. Still, does seem to handle this better than AO3 does, going as far to say that written content about real minors is forbidden.)

How are minors protected?

The minimum age to join cohost is 16, and requires proof of parental permission to join. Users who are under 18 are automatically age-gated and cannot view adult content.

If cohost isn't on the app store, how is it used?

You can, of course, use cohost on a computer, but it is designed with mobile in mind. Opening the website on any IOS browser, clicking "share", and then "add to home screen" will install an app for you to use. The same can be done on an android. There is a guide here.

How does cohost work?

First, you create an account. Then you wait for approximately two days (read: weekdays) for the account to be activated. This is done to prevent spam bots. In the meantime, edit your profile. List some interests, your pronouns, your other social media links. Give yourself an icon. Note: icon and banner file sizes are small. You may need to shrink and compress images.

After the two days are up, make your first post! Write a basic introduction (with what you feel comfortable you feel sharing) and list some interests you like, maybe some hobbies, media, etc. And then tag this post with "#welcome to cohost". This will let existing members know that someone new has joined, and they may initiate conversation and/or follow you.

Next, go to the search and type in "The Cohost Global Feed" and click on the tag. Bookmark this tag. This is essentially one giant community space where you can find random users. (There is currently some discourse on the website as to whether this tag existing is a "bad thing" or not because "cohost isn't supposed to have a global tag". Just ignore that lol). Next, go back to search and type in things you like. TV shows, maybe. Video games. Music. Anything. See if people have posted in the tags. Follow them. Comment on their stuff. Click "like" to bookmark the post if you want to.

Most crucially, make sure that you bookmark the actual tag so you can look in that tag again later without having to manually type it each and every time. Also, you get a feed called "bookmarked tags" which allows you to scroll through all of them at once, which replaces the "for you" feature other websites have.

You can "share" a post (called "rebug" in user slang) which serves the same purpose as a reblog on tumblr. In a rebug, you can add your own tags or comment in the body of the post. Cohost users do not talk in tags as much as tumblr users - they tend to prefer to speak in the body of a rebug, or in the comment section (replies). At this time, you cannot view all reblogs. But you can view all comments in the comment section. Any post that is rebugged will preserve the tags of the OP, with any additional tags added being attributed to you. Rebugs are named after the website mascot Eggbug, a purple bee-like insect.

Posts are called "chosts" - and shitposting is called "shitchosting." Two examples of global shitposting tags are "#css crimes" - which is when a person does goofy things with the HTML/CSS editor to make colorful text, fake chat windows, and such - and "#shitchosting" which is a general shitposting tag. I've also seen people use tags like "#random".

If a post makes you laugh, check out the OP's profile. See if they post frequently, and if you have any common interests. If you realize you want to block or mute someone instead, you can.

You can send asks just like on tumblr, but your inbox must be manually opened first. So remember to do that.

How do I look at my own blog?

This is one of my gripes about the UI. You would think, intuitively, you would click here (at the top of the screen). But you would be wrong!

It is ACTUALLY under the sidebar menu, called "Profile." And I'm not the only one to to complain about this. (To get back to your dashboard, by the way, you click on the cohost logo.)

Are there sideblogs?

Yes! Each sidepage (sideblog) has its OWN set of likes AND followed pages (blogs). This allows you to easily switch between multiple sets of dashboards. A lot of users use this to have a SFW dashboard and an adult content dashboard. But it works like tumblr, too. You can have a side page/dashboard for whatever you'd like. Maybe one of your pages is for programming. Maybe another is for photography. You switch between your pages by clicking the arrow next to your icon/username at the top of the screen. ("Ohhhhh.... THAT'S what that's for.")

What's the userbase on there like?

Mostly programmers. Trans people. Furry artists. Plural systems. Furry trans plural programmers. Certainly a lot of shitposters. The website is trans-run and, as such, has zero tolerance for TERFs. Everyone seems pretty friendly from what I can tell. And there's very much a culture of "follow someone randomly based on their vibes" that doesn't happen as much on tumblr. Tumblr is more like "I really like this TV show, I'm going to follow 40 blogs about just this interest." Because the cohost community is so much smaller, there is a lot less content overall, especially fandom content. You can't follow 40 fandom pages because your fandom tag has a total of 3 posts, all made by one person approximately a year ago (well. for me anyway).

Cohost, then, actually has much more in common with real-life socialization. You seek out people with interests that may be very different from your own, and to find a common interest is very exciting! Unlike tumblr, you are encouraged to tag as much as possible. This allows your posts to be seen, to find common interests. And, of course, don't forget to look in "#Welcome To Cohost" too! You may find some new friends there.

What file formats can I post in?

Currently, I am aware of basic image formats working (like jpeg, png) animated gifs, and mp3s. You currently cannot upload videos to cohost. I believe the reason is not related to server costs, but rather as a way to curb the uploading of copyrighted content.

How does cohost make money?

There are no ads, and yet, as far as I am aware, cohost is operating comfortably. There is, however, an entirely optional "cohost plus" that is $5 USD a month. Currently, there are a few perks, but not enough to convince me.

What if I think something about cohost should change?

Cohost has a forum where users can submit ideas for features and other users can discuss/upvote those ideas.

There is nothing hotter than watching Tim drive.

Well—

Alright.

That isn’t true. But something about watching how calm and confident he is in the driver’s seat is… intoxicating. Maybe it’s the way his long fingers wrap around the gearshift, or the steady grip he has on the wheel. Maybe it’s the way his sleeves are rolled up; exposing the corded muscle of his forearm, and the leather bracelet Jason wove for him tied around the sharp bones of his wrist. Maybe it’s the control he has, coolly certain that the vehicle will do exactly as he tells it to.

It’s enough to make his mouth dry.

Cool blue eyes glance his way. “Can’t get comfortable?” Tim asks, the dry humor in his tone bringing a flush to Jason’s cheeks.

“I—uh.” He has to stop and raise his green tea to his mouth, taking a few sips to wet his throat before he can continue. “I’m plenty comfortable, thanks. Just—a little lost in enjoying the view.” Fuck. Normally he’s more suave than this. Or he thinks he is, anyway. He can’t really say for certain. He doesn’t—do this much. Date. Most of the people in Gotham’s upper crust wouldn’t sully themselves with dating a street rat—except for those who can look past it to get at Bruce’s money.

Tim’s—different.

Jason watches his lips quirk—though, gratifyingly, there’s a bit of pink to his cheeks. “What, Mr. Wayne doesn’t take you out of the city much?” he asks.

“It’s different with you,” Jason says—and he. The cheesy romance of the line makes his stomach flip, but it’s true. Everything is different with Tim. There’s a diner he goes to with Dick and Cass, and Damian if they buy him something vegetarian first, but. He took Tim the other day and— It was almost like going somewhere entirely new.

The blush on Tim’s face gets a little brighter. “We’re almost there,” he says, instead of replying to that. Which suits Jason just fine—he likes when they flirt, but it also leaves his insides squirmy, and skin tight and tingly.

Today was a more—spontaneous date than Jason was used to. Tim was like that sometimes; he’d get an idea in his head and then just decide to act on it. An impulsivity that Jason… well. He wouldn’t say he lacked it, he was plenty impulsive but—

He liked plans.

But it was nice, following Tim’s lead, even when Tim was just making it up as he went along. He had a way of seeming so confident and assured in his plans that Jason couldn’t even tell he was improvising.

Today, Tim had decided the plan of the day was to ‘go fast.’ There was a stretch of road between Gotham and Bludhaven that almost no one used—a place Tim liked to go and see just how fast his car could really go.

Jason is excited. It’s one thing to watch Tim drive in the city. It’s going to be another thing to watch him out here. Couple that with the privacy—the lack of cameras or nosy siblings or overprotective fathers…

His heart thrums in his chest. He doesn’t know how far he’s ready to go, but… It’ll be nice to find out, maybe.

Tim turns onto another road. “Ready?” he asks, rolling the windows down.

Jason grins. “Yeah,” he says; wrapping one arm around the door handle. “Let’s go.”

Tim presses harder on the gas pedal. The engine rumbles, no longer whisper-quiet but a low, rolling growl Jason feels in his belly.

The wind whips through his hair, mussing his carefully styled curls. It brings more color to his cheeks, and roars in his ears. The scenery begins to blur together.

Jason’s grin widens. The wind steals the saliva from his mouth, leaving it dry again, but he doesn’t care.

He glances over at Tim—

He’s gorgeous, a crooked grin on his face; eyes bright and shining. The wind pulls his hair from where he tied it back; the feathery strands whipping around his face, some of them getting in his mouth and sticking to his cheeks. He looks— just as calm and relaxed as he does on the freeway, driving down a neighborhood, rolling his eyes at main street traffic.

Jason wants to kiss him.

He wants—he wants to climb over the glovebox and straddle his thighs, wants to feel Tim’s hands on his hair, splayed over his ribs, on the back of his neck. Wherever he wants, as long as they’re on Jason.

He wants—

He wants.

Tim glances his way. His eyes widen a moment, like he can see Jason’s desire written on his face. Maybe he can.

“Do you want to—“ Tim has to shout to be heard over the wind. He doesn’t get to finish his sentence, though, before sirens blare behind him.

“Shit,” Jason says, as he watches Tim’s mouth form a similar word. Both expletives are stolen, though.

Tim’s mouth twists as he slows down, pulling onto the shoulder as soon as it’s safe. “Sorry,” he murmurs to Jason as he rolls down his window. “There usually aren’t any policemen here.” He reaches into his pocket.

“It’s fine,” Jason says, waving his hand. He’s still not the biggest fan of cops—avoids them, if he can get away with it. But the instant paranoia they cause is easier to swallow these days, if only because he trusts that Bruce would raise hell if any of ‘em tried anything.

He glances in the rear view—and swears.

“Motherfucker.”

A very familiar figure steps out of the vehicle behind them. Jason didn’t talk to Dick for a week when he announced he was going to the police academy. He should have held his tongue for longer.

Tim glances up at the vitriol in his tone, license now clutched between his fingers. He glances in his mirror, and Jason can tell the moment he recognizes Dick. Unlike Jason, though, Tim breathes a soft sigh of relief.

Jason doesn’t have enough time to tell him his relief is premature before Dick approaches the window.

He flashes them both a bright, sunny grin. Jason wants to punch him.

“Do you know why I pulled you over?” Dick asks, politely.

Of all the stupid fucking—

“Because you’re an asshole you—“

Tim cuts him off with a gentle touch to his knee. “No, Officer, I don’t,” Tim says; and Jason knows, despite Tim facing away from him, that he’s wearing his polite gala smile.

Dick’s smile dims a bit, but he holds it in place. “This is a forty mile-per-hour zone,” he says. “Wanna tell me why you were doing over a hundred?”

Jason looks in Tim’s mirror; biting his lip to hold back his smile when he sees Tim’s eyes widen, mouth parting. He looks like the picture of innocence.

“Was I? Sorry, Officer, I’ve been meaning to get this looked at,” Tim says, nodding towards his speedometer. “Part of why I drive on back roads; according to it, I was only doing fifty.” He glances at Jason. “Right, baby?”

Jason nods immediately, his shoulders starting to shake.

“Uh-huh,” Dick drawls. “You know it’s a two-hundred sixty dollar fine, right?” He pauses and glances at Jason. “Not to mention the aneurysm Bruce’ll have when he finds out.”

“I think you mean *if* he finds out,” Jason says. “Since, y’know, you’re a cool older brother and will let us off with a warning?”

Dick snorts. “But then how will I know you’ve learned your lesson?” he raises his brows. “It’s a backroad, not a speedway.”

“Like you didn’t do way worse at our age!” Jason has heard the stories. Some of them he wishes he hadn’t.

Dick snorts. “I’ll let you off with a warning this time,” he relents. “But, seriously. If you want to speed, I know of a couple places you can go. No more speeding on the backroad.”

Tim nods seriously.

Dick gives him a pink slip. “Alright, you two. Have fun, be safe, don’t do anything Uncle Clark wouldn’t do. I’ll see you at dinner, Jason—Tim?”

Tim shrugs.

“Probably,” Jason answers for him.

Dick nods, and walks back to his car. Jason pauses, then unbuckles his seatbelt to lean out the window and shout, “And stop following us, asshole!”

Dick gives him a lazy salute before slipping into his car. Jason doesn’t trust him a bit.

He flops back in the seat, buckling himself back in. “Sorry my brother is such a dick,” he says.

Tim smiles at him. “Don’t worry about it, Jay,” he says, leaning over the console. Jason meets him halfway, receiving a short, sweet kiss for his trouble. Both of them linger, breath mingling.

“Sorry your plans are ruined,” Jason murmurs.

Tim hums. “I wouldn’t say they’re ruined. I’d be happy just to drive with you.”

The flush is back in Jason’s cheek. “I, uh. That sounds nice. Maybe, uh. Maybe we could find a nice place to park, too?”

Tim turns cherry red. “I— Yeah. Um. We could. Probably do that.”

Jason grins.

If Dick tries to get them for public indecency, Jason’s going to commit fratricide. Hopefully Tim will be willing to go on the run with him.

Link Click is a donghua from Studio LAN and streamed on Bilibili — the Chinese streaming service that I do some subs for, if you're unfamiliar with them — as well as Funimation. I enjoyed the art, animation, and atmosphere. The premise is that two guys working at a print shop time travel through photos to help their clients. And who doesn't love a trio of kids with a big-hearted jokester, the quiet, mature one, and a feisty girl who reins them in? I think this is my first donghua and I enjoyed it!

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury by Yatate Hajime

Let me tell you about me and Gundam.

I used to work at a translation company in Tokyo where I translated some Gundam figure commercials/interviews (which are currently privated on Youtube, unfortunately) amongst other things. I'm telling you guys, every time I walked into the office and saw an email from Bandai/TAMASHII NATIONS with a new Gundam translation request in my inbox, I would cry a lot little inside. I had never watched anything Gundam and didn't know what the heck was going on in the stuff I had to translate. There was this one interview with a figure designer where I was like, "Oh, you have to be a Gundam fan to understand what the heck he's talking about..." I remember me, another translator, and our editor staring at our screens exasperated. We managed, though. Big shoutout to the Gundam Wiki — not that I understood anything from it LOL.

If you told me back then that I would enjoy a Gundam thing, I would've laughed — but here I am, enjoying a Gundam thing. I'm not into mechs, even though I think robots/robot-adjacent stuff + space are cool. Still, I could never get into mechs for some reason. So if you're like me, try The Witch from Mercury. Our MCs are these two girls who end up engaged to each other in a rather hilarious way imo, with a colorful cast of supporting characters. The political themes I hear Gundam is known for really hooked me, and I LOVE how the kids handle a situation they end up in. I won't say more so as not to spoil it, but I think this is a great entry point for Gundam newbies!

I remember seeing volume one of this series at the bookstore I frequented in Ikebukuro Station when it had just come out. Sooooo many times, I almost picked it up over the years. But I always passed because I was swamped with work, school, and current reads.

Now, I have a little more time on my hands, and the new anime adaptation has so much love put into it! A great coming-of-age story following young Mitsumi as she moves to the big city for school. This series is so wholesome, it's cavity-inducing.

Check anilist for all content because the seasons, movies, manga, light novels, and watch order are a little all over the place.

The Psycho-Pass: Inspector Shinya Kogami manga is available in English from publisher Dark Horse.

Set in the future, Japan has implemented a surveillance state that measures people's psyche and flags anyone with the potential to do crime, even if they have not done anything or will never have done anything.

I watched season one back when it first came out in 2012. Since then, I would see ads for new content at the train stations in Japan and thought I’d catch up. There’s a new movie, PSYCHO-PASS PROVIDENCE, releasing May 12, 2023.

I've been having a lot of dumb, edgy fun with this series and its on-the-nose political themes. It's kinda camp-y? I do wish it spent more time on character moments, though.

I love me a trio (which seems to be a theme in this round-up lol) and this series has a good trio! Akane is such a great character, and Shinya and MY BOY GINOZA NOBUCHIKA!!! have been thoroughly entertaining me.

I love him. I wanna bully him and stuff him into a locker...

I'm an INFP-A, 9w1. My horoscope is gemini sun, leo moon, and libra rising. All of those are extremely accurate lol. I'm very whimsical and distant, but once you get to know me I'm even MORE whimsical and very emotionally intense lol. I'm a bit of a manic pixie dream girl lol. My intensity usually intimidates people, but otherwise I'm very open and friendly once you get to know me. I'm observant and introspective, which ironically makes it difficult for me to make friends and makes me a bit sensitive. I'm extremely compassionate, empathetic, patient, and understanding. It's one of my worst traits as well, since i struggle with forming boundaries and being angry at people who mightve wronged me. I'm also incredibly indecisive. I'm not a pushover though, and have no problem gently letting ppl know when I disagree with them or something.

The animals that my friends/family say remind them of me are bears and elephants. My favorite color is yellow, and my favorite flowers are honeysuckle and jasmine. My favorite season is a tie between summer and winter, even though I HATE the cold.

With my friends I'm very chaotic and they describe me as "a silly gnome/goblin". When with them i initiate most hangouts and have always been a sort of ring leader.

My giving love language is quality time and words of affirmation. Receiving they are physical touch and quality time.

I come from an abusive household and had to look out for my younger siblings (2 younger sisters and 3 cousins who are basically brothers).I've been through a lot and that's given me a unique perspective on the world and what it means to be alive.

For hobbies I really enjoy reading, crafting, writing poetry and am very good at it, and just spending time outside. I love listening to music and listen to absolutely everything and enjoy it lol. I'm very go-with-the-flow and am down for practically anything and everything at least once. I don't like mean-spirited things/people, the cold, and being man-handled lol.

My style is very hippie/70s with goth influence. I have very long dark straight mahogany hair and blue eyes, and a very small/petite frame (hence not liking being manhandled lol). I'm very pretty in a free-spirited way, and I'm quite graceful.

My ideal type is someone who can get me out of my shell a bit while still appreciating my soft/whimsical side. Someone who can have my back and we can be our inner children together, if that makes sense. I'd do well with someone who could understand me, and help me be the best version of myself. I believe love and empathy are the only things worthwhile in life, in all the various forms they take, despite what I've been through. It terrifies me though, so id need someone to convince me to take that leap with them. Its easy to scare me off as well so someone who could understand how to approach me without overwhelming me would be best. In relationships I'm very much drawn to a twin flame sort of dynamic lol.

Fili!

You've known Fili your entire life. You were born at around the same time Kili was and you're pretty sure that's the reason why you're so close to them. It makes sense. Your parents had never been the best and you had a lot of family that you were happy to escape from now and then, plus Dis was lovely and more of a mother to you than yours ever was. So you spent the better part of your childhood with Kili - and with Kili meant with Fili as well, because they came in a package deal. Always.

While Kili grew to be your best friend, much like a brother, Fili... you'd always felt a few butterflies around. You could've written it off as some kind of childhood crush, of an infatuation in your teenage years, but honestly, you'd never quite got over it. You were older now, old enough that you should have long since been normal about the whole thing, old enough to have found work for yourself and left your parents behind. But you were still just as close to Kili and Fili and no, you were not over your crush in the slightest. Over the years, you'd just gotten better at pushing it down and suppressing it.

So you're there with them when Thorin calls on them for the quest of reclaiming Erebor. You're there because you're practically family, because Thorin knows and trusts you, and you're just as quick to agree as his nephews. And why wouldn't you go? You love them all dearly, you'd never been on an adventure before and Erebor was your home too, after all, or would have been at least, under different circumstances. So a few weeks later you start out on a life-changing journey with your two favourite dwarves in the whole world and you're honestly only a bit wistful because you'd had to leave your books and paper behind.

The three of you are a force to be reckoned with. Kili matches your chaotic energy exactly and Fili is - though certainly being the most responsible out of the three of you - still not nearly as responsible as his uncle, so your journey to Bilbo's little home all the way in Bag's End is some of the most fun you've had in your entire life. Daily life with them is obviously great as well, but what with your work and all, you haven't seen them this much in a long, long while.

It quiets down a bit when the rest of the company joins (most of them you know, some of them you can't remember), but you're still enough to get on Thorin's nerves quite a lot. You do make friends with Bilbo, though, who's drawn to just how whimsical and open you are. He may have been a bit put off by your joking about with Kili and Fili at the start, but you have him charmed a few days into your journey. You talk about books and plants and really, anything at all, and by day six you think you may have found a new life-long friend in Bilbo.

But even though you're now spending your time getting to know someone new, you're still as observant as ever, and you notice - of course you do - that the closer you get to Bilbo, the less you see of Fili. Kili is always close by and you certainly spend at least half of your time joking about with him, but whenever you ride or walk next to Bilbo, talking and laughing, Fili seems to disappear somewhere into the background, so much so that you actually have to search for him to spot him. It hurts, a bit, because you can't seem to pinpoint just what's wrong for a while. Wasn't everything just fine when you started out on this journey? Had you said something, done something wrong? You knew this kind of thing from your parents, but never from Fili, especially because he knew about... well, about everything, really, so he knew just how sensitive you could be about things like these. You did your best not to let it bother you too much.

Instead, you focused on Bilbo. He was funny and sweet, intelligent and understanding and for as much as you love the dwarves, for as much as you love your kin, you like that he's not as rough and intense. He's different. And maybe you're a bit different than the rest of the dwarves, too - you'd always been a bit slimmer and smaller and more petite than the rest and maybe that had shaped your personality in some way, too, you weren't sure. Maybe that's why the two of you grew so close in such short time.

You express your feelings for him quite the same way you do for everyone: loud and chaotic, just the way you are. You tell him that he's funny and sweet, intelligent and understanding because that's exactly how you show people that you like them, so, well, you do. But every time when, in the spur of the moment, you give Bilbo a friendly compliment, out of the corner of your eyes you see Fili scoff. You frown and try not to interpret too much into it, but it's hard - after all, you've been doing nothing but interpret and think and imagine because you've kept all of your feelings for Fili bottled up inside of you for your entire life, analysing and wondering if maybe, just maybe, there was a tiny little chance that he liked you that way, too. Not that you've ever really found anything. He was always just Fili.

But not this time. No, not this time. This time he's scoffing and turning away and staring gloomily at you when he thinks you don't notice because you're too deep in conversation with Bilbo. You do, though, definitely, because he's not being as secretive as he thinks he is. You watch him argue with Kili one evening, which you're sure hasn't happened this severely in years. Simply put, he's being weird.

He stomps off and Kili plops down next to you right after - you ask, of course, what's wrong with his brother, but you've asked Kili multiple times already and he simply won't tell you. And as much as Fili's behaviour is upsetting you, you won't go up to him either, because you're not that kind of person that pushes others - you're not even really angry, you rarely are, because whatever the reason is why Fili is behaving this way, there surely is a reason and you know him well enough to be aware that it's a good one too.

It all comes to an end in Rivendell. Most of the dwarves are in a bad mood, Bilbo hasn't been as ecstatic the entire journey and Gandalf seems to be much happier here than travelling, so the company is a bit split when it comes to their opinions on this place. You don't mind it much. You like being clean for once. Bathing had become a luxury. So while the dwarves keep complaining and brooding moodily, you're talking happily with Bilbo and Gandalf.

The elves seem a bit put off by you, but you're used to that, and after a night in Rivendell, when the dwarves have started brooding less and - well, no, they're still complaining just as much - some of the elves are conversing more and more with you. Maybe it's because you're spending most of your time with Bilbo and Gandalf (and Elrond in tow) or maybe it's because you're open and friendly, but either way you're meeting new people left and right. And that's when Fili's behaviour changes yet again.

Instead of staying out of your space and scoffing, suddenly he's by your side everywhere you go, every step you take. You're happy at first, excited that he so surprisingly comes back to you (now you're glad that you weren't all that angry in the first place), but it becomes clear after a few minutes already that he's not there to talk to you very much. It seems that he's made it his mission to stand gloomily beside you, glare at everybody who comes close to you and generally answer everything you say to him with an unmotivated "hmpf". It irritates you.

But when you get woken up by an annoyingly loud knock in the middle of the night, that's it for you. You open the door to see Fili and you're not even angry, you're really just... tired. In every sense. He's standing there in his night clothes and he seems to have had an epiphany of some sort, he looks starstruck and you're so done. You're so done you just pull him in, close the door, get back in bed, pat the empty space next to you and tell him that if he wants to talk, he should do it quickly, before you fall asleep again.

He stands in the middle of your room for so long you've actually almost fallen asleep again when he speaks up. Stuttering, which isn't what you're used to at all when it comes to him, and stumbling over his words, admitting that he's been acting stupid, that he's been acting dumb, admitting that the reason, that reason that you were sure was there, is that he's in love with you. Deeply, desperately, for so long he can't remember a time when he wasn't.

You don't really think you've heard him right but you also don't care. It's too late, you're too tired, he's looking too warm and broad and comfortable and before you can think about much anything, you've reached for him and guided him to your bed and cuddled up to him - he smells familiar, he feels safe, and he's reaching his arms around you and placing a kiss on your hair and telling you good night and somewhere in your hazy mind, you recognise the weird feeling in your stomach as butterflies.

The next morning, you wake up warm and cozy and when you open your eyes, you're facing Fili. You're actually, honestly, truly facing Fili. It takes two seconds to register. Then you feel his breath on your lips and his forehead against yours and your eyes fall closed all by themselves as you listen to him ask if he can kiss you now. You let him. Of course you let him.

You actually do talk it out that morning, though. Between a lot of kisses and a lot of cuddling, there's also a lot of talking. You're a bit nervous (even though that feeling settles after about the third or fourth kiss) but Fili has always been good at convincing you that you were brave and strong enough to do anything, and with the rhythmic stroke of his hand on your arm, the way he beams at you when he makes you giggle, how happily he listens to you talk, all of that convinces you in just a few hours how very right you were to pine for him your entire life.

When you don't show up for breakfast, you guess the others were worried some elf had killed you in your sleep, so Kili comes knocking on your door some time before noon. In full Kili fashion, he doesn't really knock at all, he more like just comes barging into your room, so you have barely enough time to look up before he stands at the foot of your bed with a dumb grin on his face that tells you he was very much aware of what was going on with his brother the past few weeks.

You don't mind. You don't really mind anything anymore. Because you spend your days in Fili's arms now, with his hand in yours and courting braids in your hair, and you're happier than you've ever been before. Now the people you'd always considered family more than your real family did become your real family, a few years after you'd recovered Erebor, on the day that you marry Fili. The happiest day of your life, because Fili made you feel exactly the way you'd always wished he would, because he was exactly what you'd always wanted, because you loved him. And because he loved you.

I decided to do a rework on my introduction, I'm gonna hope that it won't take a while to load..

So here we have the 3 parts of me, Xin my oc, Sin my Anon version of myself, and Void my supposed to be jester sona.

Xin's description -

Here we have Xin, the emotional but laid back arsonist cyborg, she has a habit of resulting into fire despite the most simple situations, whether big or small. It's always fire, just don't give her a glass of water, she might get scared and blast your face off out of fear. Xin also has this headset that displays faces, symbols, words ect to show her mood, this includes her tail. If you want to understand how Xin's tail body language work, just search on google "Cat tail body language " 💀. Xin also is the most overprotective of the three.

Fun facts about Xin -

- Like I said Xin is a cyborg, so that of course means Xin can't handle water well. She can't drink not eat anything that contains water, anyways. If you were to pour water on Xin whether cold or hot, it will leave a grey spot on her where the burn is. It will sting alot, for Xin at least, instead of fire being the main threat, it's water to Xin.

- Xin loves physical touch and is VERY clingy. To some people at least.

- Xin is blind :3

- Xin has the best senses out of everyone, except for.. Sight- Of course..

- Y'know how Xin has this tail? Yeah it's main purpose is to charge Xin, you see. Xin is required to charge herself at least 1 time a day depending on her energy. If she doesn't charge her self on time she will immediately "shut down" and you will be needed to plug her tail into an outlet, that's how she charges herself. It's quite simple, usually Xin would ask someone to plug her tail in an outlet since she's lazy and.. Since she likes the feeling of someone helping her, there is definitely not another reason.

- Xin had once been pushed into the digital lake because of Jax, that was the time when Xin transported into the digital world. ( Xin suffered unbearable pain for days. )

- Xin's headset is sort of like a mobile phone/tablet. Please ask permission from Xin in order to let you do stuff on her headset, no like seriously you can play songs, video recordings, open images, and.. Even google stuff..??

- Xin somehow has a.. Quaint british and a Brooklyn accent mixed together, crazy. ( I'm British in real life lol. )

- She is lesbian you son of a b-

Sin -

Here is Sin, the anonized version of me, Sin is basically just Xin but instead of being completely blind, she just has bad vision. Sin is also the most content out of the three, wanting to avoid trouble but sometimes can be stubborn and sassy. Loves playing around with Xin :D

Void -

Void is supposed to be my jester sona, I'm not good at designing so please don't go all at me. And also Void, will. . Well, she would say anything people wouldn't, especially Xin and Sin. She will speak up if she has to, she ain't afraid as well. Basically kinda like Jax but more sharp tongued.

Hello e grazie mille per l'ask! Credo che l'op non se la prenderà, ci sono ask decisamente peggiori in questi lidi 🙈 E se può consolare, una volta Tumblr ha glitchato di brutto inviando un mio messaggio critico verso uno show molto popolare ad un blog iper fan del suddetto show. Capisco l'ansia!

Daje now we'll switch to badly written English.

Solas: I wish I could say something, but I still haven't played DAI 🙈 (and i don't even know if I'll be able to without melting my laptop). However, from posts and fanarts I deduced that he is some kind of old god/trickster archetype/the dreadwolf thingy that wants to destroy the world. Interesting!

And a fun fact. For... quite some time I used to think that Solavellan was the name of an actual character. In my defence, it sounds legit for a fantasy setting.

Now, let's move on to the character that will make people stop talking to me lol. Under the read more because I'm on mobile and have no idea how long this is going to be.

* First impression: hello fun guy that hates the chantry and is obsessed with cats, I like your earring! Oh you refused to speak and ran away multiple times so... they left you a year in solitary confinement?? Oh and then your ex/first love is illegally magically lobotomized as a threat against you? WTF WTF WTF.

* Impression now: I pretty much like all the characters, but he really grew on me. I find him very interesting and compelling, BUT I also want to hit him with a brick for every bitchy/condescending/hypocrite comment towards Fenris or Merrill. I also suspect that with him the writers tried to portray mental illness or something similar? I think I read something somewhere.

* Unpopular opinionS: ehhh, here we go. It's called "the last straw" and not "I'm going to commit a political assassination at the first inconvenience" for a reason. I agree that it could have been handled differently (with more time- this game definitely deserved more development time), but it wasn't on a whim, nor I see it as some grand machination that he planned for years. It's a very desperate act that was preceded by years of activism and trying to find a compromise. A compromise that it is impossible to reach, imho, because compromises in order to work need good faith and/or some kind of leverage. Mages have no leverage and Meredith (and Elthina too) have no good faith. Meredith explicitly wanted an excuse to kill them all, and the right of annulment has been sent for... how can you compromise with someone that considers your existence a mistake to correct? I can see that it's a political situation that would have required more nuance than what the game had time to provide - but overall I think it's pretty clear why he did it.

* Favourite moment: The "hello Varric, take my mother's embroidered pillow, just in case something happens ahah I'm so subtle" scene is quite sweet (despite everything that follows), and while I affectionately mock it for being very loud, the First Big Kiss in the sewers is a classic. And any mention to cats is very much appreciated, obviously.

* Idea for a story: the 3 years gap between the acts are full of possibilities, and I love missing-moments stories. Also! If the "something here is a metaphor for mental illness" idea is true I'd definitely love to read some in-depth exploration of it.

* Favourite head canon: considering what I saw from the official writers about him after the events of DA2, I'd just say "the opposite of that".

* Favourite relationship: platonic, I'd say Varric ("let's brainstorm how to kill my brother :D! Also I'm paying criminals to stay away from your underground free clinic, bye"). Romantic, definitely Hawke. But with a disclaimer: I've tried the romance path thingy with a male rogue/archer Hawke (after much consideration, I was really curious about Fenris and Isabela too, but the "ten years, a hundred years-" quote got me) but I still haven't finished it. So yeah, I'm aware I'm missing pieces here -and this is why I looked for all the spoilers. "And I love you so much I'm going to let you kill me" indeed, mrs Welch singing during the end credits, indeed.

This one is pure BDSM filth based on three different prompts all rolled into one nice package. Sub Harry, Dom Louis, crying kink, just *chef’s kiss* I loved writing it and making the edit for the moodboard!

Even If It’s Only for Tonight

More BDSM - Dom Louis invites Dom Zayn to come play with Sub Harry. It’s a lot of Zayn being in shock that he’s actually in this situation, some banter between him and Louis, Harry being a good little sub, and he calls Louis Daddy. I also included an email Louis wrote for Zayn about the rules before they fooled around, which was fun to put together. The sentiment was basically, “If you hurt Harry, I will end you” lmao. I’m working on a Zouis sequel for this fic at the moment!

I Roll ‘til I Change My Luck

One of my few non smut fics. It holds a special place in my heart because it features disabled Louis who uses a wheelchair and a service dog, like me. I wanted to use this fic to educate people about service dogs, so I really loved writing it. Harry is his best friend who handles Louis’ disability and mobility equipment really well, and Louis starts to see romantic potential in their friendship.

Feel the Heat Through Your Phone

I love this one. It’s ABO featuring desperate omega Harry who suddenly goes into heat while his alpha Louis is away. It’s from Louis’ POV, and he has to help Harry through it, but it’s difficult for both of them. The summary sounds so boring omg lol. But who doesn’t love a FaceTime jerk off fic?

Fringe & Flogging

My most recently posted fic, and I just love it (as well as the first part, Leather Over Lace). It’s canon compliant based on the night Harry wore the pink and blue fringe jacket. It’s got BDSM, daddy kink, nipple torture, harsh Louis. It’s a doozy, and it legitimate made me embarrassed at first because of how filthy it is, which never happens to me 😂

Very much new to tumblr, so I'm not entirely sure how all this works yet. I don't exactly know how to respond to reblogs yet so bear with me. First off, your ramblings are totally fine, don't have a problem with it at all. The reason I'm responding to you is to explain my perspective on the game and how it was handled. This mostly concerns you calling the devs lazy. (Note: I don't fault you for thinking this, nor am I upset about it. Sorry if this ends up being a super long reply lol)

I'm not going to go deep into the details of my life and who I am, but I think it's important to know that I've been taking game development classes for about 2 years now. I'm not an employee of GameFreak, or the Pokemon company, so I can't give any definitive answers on why the game came out the way it did, but I am almost certain that it isn't because the people involved were being lazy.

I'm not exactly sure how to best explain this, but from my experience with the game, it seemed like the team behind it genuinely cared about the project. The art direction completely shifted, pokemon are much more detailed now, there is an overabundance of things to see and do, and the core game is actually really fun. Character designs are great, the writing is well done, and there are so many creative ideas at play here.

Now if that is the case, why is it such a mess from a technical perspective? There is the chance that their game engine needs an update, and there is also the fact that this is their first fully open world game, but I don't think either of those are the main culprit. The two potential reasons why I think the game ended up the way it did is either a lack of time, or a lack of money.

First off, let me explain my reasoning for time. Breath of the Wild was the first Zelda game to attempt an open world. It's development started not to long after the release of Skyward Sword in 2011 with a planned release date in 2015, but got delayed to 2017. This left that team with a development time of 6 years. The dev time for Scarlet and Violet was presumably 3 years, with SwSh dlc, and Legends Arceus being developed at the same time. When you are making an open world game that has a strict deadline, some corners are definitely going to have to be cut. This deadline is set by the Pokemon Company to keep sales up while pumping out more merchandise.

My second thought is that there is not enough money going around. Before anyone says that Pokemon is the largest franchise in the world, yes I am aware, however, Gamefreak doesn't get to decide how much these games are funded; the Pokemon Company does, and they also have to balance out things like the mobile games, merchandise, the card game, the anime etc. Gamefreak only gets a small small portion of that cut. Because of this, they can't just quadruple their team size just to pump out higher quality games quicker, because The Pokemon Company wants to turn a profit.

As unfortunate as it is, this stuff isn't completely in the hands of GameFreak, and as such they don't really have much control over it. This is mostly speculation on my part, but it is a fairly educated guess. Sorry for the long winded post, but I think that the devs get treated quite unfairly by fans who think that they are the sole reason that the games won't improve in quality.

I hope my own rambling at least gave you some insight on game development, and it's many challenges and I hope this helped you understand my point of view on the subject a little bit better!

I think that the points you make are completely true! Game Freak mightve cared a lot for the game but due to factors out of their control the product ended...like that. It's honestly such a shame as someone who was a huge pokemon fan since they were 8, seeing the series suffer due to capitalism has been incredibly disheartening.

Chapter5 : Pooh & Singh Jiju

Let us now talk about a sane person who has been sucked into an insane world i.e. Singh Jiju, DeeDee’s better (rather quite better) half!

I know Singh Jiju for more than 6years and I can tell you that in these 6years, I have not left any chance to pester him too (like I pester the entire world)…. (Inner Pooh : “I seriously feel sorry for him…how he handles this mad gang!! Hats-off to him!!)…

Me and Singh Jiju have had many friendly debates on general topics ranging from religion to politics to movies....and every single time, I have had to give-in coz Singh Jiju knows his stuff....whereas I play around with half-baked knowledge...LOL

Let us start with Singh Jiju’s eating habits. He has a very selective palette and he eats very slowly (Inner Pooh : “Tooooo slowwww”). Now, do I need to explicitly compare him with us? Anyways, let me try to give this a shot! So, we three (Pooh, DeeDee, Sonu) are Foodies….we can eat anything and everything….(as long as its vegetarian for me & DeeDee)…There have been incidents when Singh Jiju was appalled at seeing, what me & DeeDee were ‘devouring’!!! ROFL. We three are very ‘fast-eaters’…we don’t eat, we gobble up! In fact, me and Sonu had tracked this formula that our first helping of the dinner (yeahhhh we take multiple helpings when we eat together) completes exactly at 7minutes into an episode (of any series we were watching)….and our dinner is wrapped up somewhere between 15 to 18-minutes of an episode….Now when it comes to Singh Jiju, his food would not complete even after a one hour-long episode ends…I think he seriously loves his food :D

It was Singh Jiju who introduced us to Marvel-verse. It is because of him that we have now watched (Inner Pooh: “And you have forgotten too..!!”) all the Marvel movies. We are now such Marvel experts that we know that we are not to exit the cinema hall immediately after the movie ends….We keep standing and waiting for the ‘Post-Credits’….We do not even leave after that…We wait for the ‘Post Post-Credits’ ….LOL…

Now let us get into few more scenes where Singh Jiju is ‘tortured’ by Pooh….LOL…..

Scene#1

Singh Jiju is a geek when it comes to technology…he loves spending on expensive tech gadgets and then exploring all their features in details…for people like me this is eyes-rolling…I would rather book a ‘fixed-deposit’ than spending on stupid gadgets….for me as long as my mobile phone allows me to make calls, do WhatsApp, access Google search and Gmail, take some out-of-focus pics (that’s my another talent)…I am happy…I do not need it to do anymore!! Anyways, let me take you guys through this particular scene.

I enter DeeDee’s & Singh Jiju’s house, ask DeeDee for sanitizer (#pandemicphobia), liberally spray it all over my hand AND over my mobile phone. Singh Jiju is flabbergasted seeing this. I then roughly wipe the mobile with my kurta/top and throw the phone onto the bed/sofa (Singh Jiju’s heart is in his mouth by now!!!)

Singh Jiju (very ‘saintly’ and ‘faintly’ murmurs): “Di (aka elder sis), you guys are seriously not worthy of gadgets…now I understand why you do not want to spend more than Rs 15-20K on a mobile phone!!”

Me (like a naughty kid being caught): “I just very lightly sprayed the sanitizer and immediately wiped it off…”

Singh Jiju (nodding his head): …..

Inner Pooh: “Silly Lady!! Remember?? You spent Rs 5K on getting the screen repaired….the mobile phone guys said they found water inside the phone…. but poor guys had no idea it was sanitizer killing away Corona germs inside every damn circuit of your phone!!! I wish there was some solution to sanitize your stupid brain!!”

----Scene ends------

Scene#2

Singh Jiju started driving recently, 1-2 years back….and he is very possessive about his car…..Whenever I get into a car (not Uber, of course), I feel as if I am going on a long-drive!!! There have been many incidents with Pooh, DeeDee, Singh Jiju and ‘The Car’….I am just merging them all together to give you a summary….

Few minutes into the journey, a loud smack on the car window….!!!

DeeDee (turning back from her shotgun seat): “What was that sound???”

Me: “There is a mosquito in the car…I am just trying to kill it…”

DeeDee: “Are you nuts?? Window would crack!!!”

Inner Pooh: “Just like her brain…..”

Me: “Seriously?? They should make these windows unbreakable….”

Singh Jiju (patiently): “Di, suppose there is an accident, if these windows are unbreakable, how would people break open the window and come out??”

Me: “Ohh…that’s a valid point Singh Jiju….”

Inner Pooh: “Lady, Your General-Knowledge is seriously general….”

Few more minutes pass….me fidgeting in the backseat…trying to shoo away the mosquito with my mobile phone….thinking this was supposed to be a long-drive…where is the music??....

Me: “Can we please turn on some music???”

Singh Jiju (carefully maneuvering the car through a crowded place): …………………

DeeDee (glaringly): “Just let him cross this place, will then play something…..for now, let him focus on the road….”

Scene#3

DeeDee and Singh Jiju enter our house…and even before they settle down….

Me: “Singh Jiju, some juice? Or Coffee?”

Singh Jiju (politely): “Not now Di, may be later…”

5 minutes later….

Me: “Should I order something to eat???”

Inner Pooh (rolling her eyes): “We know you are not going to cook….”

DeeDee: “Leave him be, he will ask when he wants to have something…why do you keep asking!!!”

Me: …….

Few hours later, after we all are done with food….

Me: “Singh Jiju, would you like to have some laddoo (India’s favourite sweet-dish)?”

DeeDee (from outside the room): “Please come here Madam….Laddoos? You have Laddoos at home?” (Dad being diabetic, me being fatso…we avoid keeping sweets at home….)

Me: ……

DeeDee: “Don’t tell me these are those 4-5 laddoos from the prasad, I Swiggy-ed you few days back…!!!”

Inner Pooh: “Smart DeeDee….I love her!!!!”

Me (gulping): “Yeahhh…they are not spoilt….I kept them in the refrigerator…”

DeeDee: “Are you insaneeeeee??? First, could you guys not finish them off in 4days??? Second, you are offering those stale laddoos to Singh Ji?????”

Me (doing complex calculation in my brain): “Arreee….I gave half to Dad and half to Maya on 2 days…had one half myself…2 or so are left…”

DeeDee (pissed-off all over again): …………………………………..

Singh Jiju, in the other room, was sure listening to all this hullabaloo going on outside….

Me (going back into the room): “Singh Jiju…may I order some ice-cream or pastries?”

Singh Jiju: “No Di, I am fine…I am too full after that double-egg chicken roll…”

Me: “Ohkk…may be some juice? Coffee?”

And the cycle continues………..

Same night, me Netflix-ing and eating the same laddoo..…’It isn’t bad….It is gooddd!! (Inner Poor : “We all know that you can eat anything and everything!!!!”)

So now you guys understand the pain and torture Singh Jiju has to suffer at our (ahem my) hands… LOL…

Jokes apart, he is awesome and his family is equally awesome….They may be DeeDee’s In-Laws officially, but they are like my own family….And yes, they also do suffer Pooh from time-to-time..…We will visit that chapter some other day…

thanks for letting me know! though it’s a little unfortunate that seasons in hieron is very death existential / parental death heavy because that really might have to make me not listen to it? especially since those are HUGE triggers of mine, specifically death existentialism. though i deeply want to give this series a chance! i’d say i’d be able to push past it, but i’m not really sure.

may i then ask slightly what the plot is in these over-arching seasons? just to kinda get a feel for it and kinda be aware of what death related content may or may not be involved.

obviously feel free to detail as much or as little as you’d like, and no pressure to talk about ALL of them either, especially since it’s probably a LOT to recollect and explain.

anyways! just wanted to say that, but i would probably enjoy hearing most about the plot of seasons in hieron and sangfielle, just to let you know.

(also i am on mobile rn and cannot remember how to add a read more so uh, I'll go back and add it in later, sorry for the long post)

So like. Seasons of Hieron are like, it's a post- post- apocalyptic fantasy world. The apocalypse happened, but enough time has passed that any details of the apocalypse/the world before has been largely forgotten. They play Dungeon World, which is a pretty cool game that is analogous in many ways to dnd, and there's a fairly typical fantasy party. You've got your paladin, your warrior, your druid, your wizard, your bard, etc (but the table friends put their own spins on all of these tropes — their conception of bards and "pattern magic" is fantastic, and they also reimagine a lot of stereotypical fantasy groups like orcs, removing a lot of the shitty undertones from the standard you see in dnd). There's gods (you may recognize SamSam from the divorced tournament, go vote for them lmfao). And the main parties are (at the start) going to find magical artifacts from pre-apocalypse times.

But the bigger story that is more fully introduced in Marielda, is about the fact that the world — more specifically, the god Samol, who is the world of Hieron — is dying, slowly, and no one knows how to save him (and by extension the world). His sons, Samot and Samothes, get divorced (messily) since they have different theories to the question of how to save Samol from the Heat and the Dark. iirc, Samol and the Heat and the Dark are very specifically inspired by Austin's experience of his grandfather dying of cancer, and he is not the only parental figure dying in the series.

The players in the seasons of Hieron get drawn into these larger events, trying to stop the destruction of their world from the heat and the dark, with varying amounts of success. Hieron more than the other seasons (imo) deal more explicitly and deeply with death and undeath as themes, so it's totally understandable if that's not something you're up to listening to. It can get really heavy.

Sangfielle takes place in a world where the center of the world is cursed and wild, and a great ringed city encases it to prevent that cursed area expanding. The season takes place within that cursed area, called Sangfielle, and it follows the Blackwick Group, who are a crew that handle weird and cursed things. The crew includes a human who is actually a bunch of bees, a person slowly transforming into a terrifying creature, a spirit (sorta) that is (consensually) possessing someone, a giant goat lady who fights trains (there are fucked up evil trains no one created that just appear in Sangfielle and can take ppl hostage), among others. There's capybara people, goat people, devils, ox people, communist seahorse people. The group are hired to deal with problems, i.e. a cursed/haunted house demanding sacrifices, or finding the egg sac of the dead Mother-beast god that went missing. Y'know. Normal stuff. This season is the one where things get gory and gross and unsettling, and I think they did a great job with it. There's death in this season, but the things that don't die are much worse.

Divine Cycle writ large is: what if we're in space and also we made giant machine gods. your favorite mecha anime that doesn't exist. giant robots!!!

Twilight Mirage: "we weren't building mirrors, we were setting fires" they're living in a declining utopia society, and things are falling apart. how do you take care of people & face what happens next

Road to Partizan: what happens in the 5000 years following the twilight mirage era, as an imperial power grows and conquers

Partizan: "do we bring our own gravity with us" fighting against empire, is it possible to avoid empire and imperialism, and can individuals do anything to fight back such a massive institution

Road to Palisade: 5 years between end of Partizan and start of Palisade

Palisade: sequel to Partizan, revolution babeyy

Day35/36 I didn’t get to post yesterday about my walk because my parents took me out lol I was everywhere even today. As my birthday gift to myself I went around and helped family out. It felt nice. I even helped my dad renew his license at the dmv and he went once last week but didn’t get to go through with his whole appointment because he didn’t know the new tech stuff they had there and I went today and it was insanely different and I translated for him and told him to relax lol he was taking his new picture and he was nervous and it is those type of moments that reminded me how much I have grown and to see my dad get nervous over a license photo was just like something I won’t forget lol he always went on his own but this time he asked for my assistance and it just happened that his appointment was on the 7th today. I also did both my 1hr walks these two days and my 18 minutes of mobility but no strength training as I wanted to take it slow for my birthday week lol Also, it was super gloomy today as usual on all my birthdays besides I think last year when it was sunny but it was always gloomy even when I was a kid. However I did capture the sun for a bit near the end of my walk and I felt blessed. I was reflecting on a lot on my walk and also the idea of resurrection and sacrifice and what it is to truly give. And I was happy to end my walk with different thoughts and I am grateful for everything and even y’all. Thank you for being here and I love you. Before I go, let me just say that People Pt.2 is just very soft and I loved the lyrics a lot. IU and Yoongi are precious. I saw the videos and I really love how Yoongi said he wrote to himself in a sense and it’s nice to see Yoongi be at peace with things too and I love the idea of how we all are already worthy of love. It is just beautiful.💜 We all really are and thank you Yoongi. I loved those words for today and I felt them. Your words reached me too. In relation to your post on C:320, love your point of Bakugo is actually the best person to call out Deku for the viewing everyone as Extras because he's speaking from experience, because when I first read that bit I did think 'Well that's quite hypocritical mister only uses mildly insulting (at best) nicknames or the exact term extra for everyone'. However given as of C:318 he's still using the term lowfries it feels like it undercuts how powerful that could have been a bit. What do you think?

first off, just to clarify, back in 318 he didn't actually call them "small fries" or "losers" or anything like that; he literally just used a plural form of the word "you" (i.e. "you guys"). it's just that out of the various Japanese words for you (anata, omae, etc.), the one that he used (temee) happens to be the rudest one. but everything Katsuki says is rude, because that's just how he talks. so it really didn't mean anything in this instance.

however, even if he had actually called them extras, tbh it wouldn't have undercut the moment at all in my mind. because the thing is, even if he calls them that, he's not treating them like extras at all. they're his equals. he could have left them all back at U.A. and gone after Deku himself, but he didn't. because he's learned the importance of teamwork, and he's come to trust in his classmates' strength. they've all been working together in perfect sync for the past couple of chapters. he knows when to sit back and let one of them handle something, and he knows when to step in and play his part -- as he did when Deku used Smokescreen.

and that's the thing with Kacchan -- with him, you really do have to look at his actions more than his words, because he often does say things that on the surface appear to be very hypocritical and condescending and insulting. and if his actions even remotely matched what he was saying, he would indeed be the terrible, irredeemable person that so many fans even now still see him as. fortunately, his actions usually do not match up at all, but instead reveal him as the person he actually is -- someone who cares about other people far more than he could ever comfortably acknowledge.

like, please pardon me for going off on an entirely different tangent now, but I feel like the last couple of chapters are really the perfect example of this. it's the contrast between everything he says to and about Deku --

"that damned nerd."

"he's screwed up in the head."

"wow, real inspiring! all hail the mighty inheritor of One for All!"

"do your worst, you All Might wannabe!"

"I guess once you start being able to do anything you try, everyone around you starts to look like an extra, huh?"

-- versus everything his actions tell us about what he actually feels about Deku.

Deku was literally the first person he asked about as soon as he woke up in the hospital.

he completely disregarded the fact that he had been LITERALLY IMPALED THROUGH THE CHEST and was still in a considerable amount of pain, and took off running toward Deku's bedside the second he heard that he hadn't woken up.

as soon as he found out Deku had left, he correctly predicted the exact course of action Deku would take, right down to the actual words that he used.

and upon realizing this, he described it as "the worst scenario I can think of," and immediately leapt into action, taking command of and mobilizing the rest of the class.

he wore a fucking tie for Deku's sake. like what else can you even say. that's true love right there.

he showed up fully prepared to throw down for the sake of dragging Deku back home, even though his wounds aren't fully healed yet.

he immediately saved Deku from the rampaging crowd.

and even while in full insult mode, he couldn't go more than two sentences before making a comment about Deku's wellbeing ("are you smiling now?").

and in fact, let's talk about that last part. because over the last two chapters, Kacchan has thus far made references to Deku being the heir of OFA (which he thinks of as a cursed power), Deku emulating All Might (who has the exact same "never takes himself into account" mindset, according to him), and Deku sneaking off without telling anyone. literally every one of his remarks is actually a comment about the various behaviors that we know he's actually very worried about. in other words, if you look beneath the surface at what he's actually saying, all of these supposed insults lose their bite real fast.

that damned nerd = I'm worried about Deku.

he's screwed up in the head = he never thinks about himself before recklessly leaping into danger and it scares me.

the mighty inheritor of OFA = the latest in a long line of lonely people who all lived harsh lives and ultimately sacrificed themselves for the sake of their mission.

are you smiling now? = what happened to the Deku I knew who never shut up about wanting to save people with a smile?

do your worst, you All Might wannabe = I know you're determined to follow down the same path as All Might -- even if it kills you -- but we're not backing down, and we're not going to leave you.

you didn't even tell us anything before you left = I thought you trusted me enough to know that I would have your back.

I guess once you start being able to do anything you try, everyone around you starts to look like an extra, huh? = you're doing the same thing I used to do, looking down on everyone who you think can't keep up. but when you do that, you lose sight of your own weaknesses. I learned that the hard way and I don't want you to make that same mistake.

anyway, so that wound up being a very long tangent lol. but basically, for my money Kacchan is one of the least hypocritical characters in the series, because most hypocrites are people who say nice things, only to have their hypocrisy revealed through their actions. but Kacchan is the exact opposite. his actions are where he is the most honest. and so yeah, when he says this to Deku in 320, he means it, and he's right, and he should say it.

Just read through your Bakugou HC’s 🧨Delish ~💋 Anywhooo; Tumblr could just be acting wonky (as usual on mobile 🙄😓) but I’m not seeing any RULES post, and I want to make a request. Please don’t get upset or take offense if I ask for something off limits (If so, Sorry in advance). I’d really like for you to expand on the whole “Rage/Rampage” thing 😘 Let’s say that someone helped us escape deranged Katsuki’s clutches, of course the attempt fails and the person helping us had to be doing so because they want you for themselves (according to Katsuki) cause no one just helps a falsely imprisoned young woman since it’s the right thing to do 😤 So he decides to teach the reader that she is property of Katsuki Bakugou, and every part of her belongs to him.

Rampage mode - Bakugo Katsuki

Bakugou surprises you by celebrating your one year anniversary of being a “couple” only to find Jirou trying to whisk you away from him.

Warnings: Yandere behavior, age up characters (Bakugo is in his mid 20’s), Graphic descriptions, violence, Censored language, character death, reader gets injured not majorly though, Mentions of marriage, soft?? Bakugou

Bakugou was the happiest man alive because today was your first anniversary as a couple, and to top it off you have been starting to be more nice and loving towards him. He couldn’t ask for anything more than that. You just being with him was all he could ask for. Well maybe one more that will have to wait later that evening.

Waking up that morning with you wrapped in his arms was a dream come true. He woke up 30 minutes before he had to get out of bed just so he could admire you. He was restless, he had big plans for today. You're the only one who made him want to have a wife, a family. A future without you isn’t an option for him.

Before his thoughts ran too far wild his alarm went off and you just had to open your gorgeous orbes you called eyes looking at him like you just woke up from hibernation. Bakugou genly moved you off of him to go make you breakfast. He would like for you to cook with him but you're too sleepy to handle a knife properly and besides you could cook with him this evening for dinner anyways.

After breakfast is getting ready for the day. You do your morning routines together, him helping you out when he can and you doing the same for him. He wanted this day to be just the two of you but today was a very important meeting his HR manager scheduled for him and he couldn’t move it. That's alright though, it gives him the excuse to go and pick up the ring he ordered for you.

He was so lost in his own thoughts he almost forgot to give you a goodbye kiss and hug, but do you know what he did forget? The F@cking documents he needed for the meeting. Don’t get him wrong, he wasn’t mad about seeing you again, no he was mad that he was most likely going to be late for that meeting. Which means his HR manager is going to have a field day with him.

With a sigh Bakugou turned around and drove as fast as he legally could (he doesn’t want to risk getting into a car accident) back home. Nothing could ruin this day for him, not the student meeting, not the dum papers he forgot, not the front door being ajar, not- wait the front door!

Without another thought Bakugou rushes in, slamming the door open to find you and Jirou standing in the living room in nothing but civilian clothing. Quickly Jirou steps in front of you protectively, ready to fight Bakugou. On the other hand Bakugou just stood there thinking, trying to figure out what exactly was going on here. Were you trying to escape? No, your affection was more than enough proof that you loved him and wanted to stay. It was Jirou who was trying to kidnap you and obviously didn't plan on him showing up.

He knew that she would try something like this but on their anniversary? His blood began to boil, he slammed the front door and locked it in one fell Swoop. Jirou and you must have seen the murderous look in his eyes because Jirou push you back and sid something to you but Bakugou didn’t hear it. Not after his explosions started to rang throughout the apartment. The first explosion you both dodged it, the second one knocked her off balance but unfortunately she recovered. By three one Bakugou is so angry and frustrated that he did even realize that you had jumped in front of him until it was too late.

Severely burned you land hashly on the floor right next to jirou. One moment he was standing there shocked and then the next jirou’s brains painted the walls, her body laying next to yours. Bakugou didn't know why you had done that but that's not important right now. With coarse hands Bakugou picks you up gently, taking you somewhere no one can even find you.

After patching you up, Bakugou takes you to the cottage that he owns for when he wants to go on a long trip. The one far away from anyone. When he gets you there you are half awake groaning tiredly, in pain obviously. He carries you in whispering soft apologies in your ear. This time he will make sure you will be safe with him. Weather you want it or not.

TWN: Witchers

So! I was minding my own business a few nights ago, playing a game on my phone, when I thought to look up the names of the actors who played witchers in TWN season two. My train of thought was as follows: "Oh, TWN didn't give us much personality for many of the witchers, maybe the actors that played them have had other, similar roles I that actually had personality, which I can use as a basis for their witcher’s personality. Alternately, I could stalk their social media so see what kind of a person they are." Lo and behold, IMDb had only officially credited the actors who had been credited by Netflix in the show. Said actors, the witchers they acted as, and their Instagram account handles are as follows:

Basil Eidenbenz - Eskel (basil.eidenbenz)

Paul Bullion - Lambert (paulbullion)

Yasen Atour - Coën (yasenatour)

Nathanial Jacobs - Everard (n.amosjay)

Jota Castellano - Gwain/Gawain (jota.castellano)

Now, that's all well and good, but in the wide shot in S2E2 where almost all witchers can be seen in one frame (here's a link to a tweet that has said picture, and some close-ups), we can see eleven (11) total witchers, and Eskel, who barges in right after said wide shot, makes a total of twelve (12) Netflix-canonical witchers. Didn’t Geralt say that there were 20 of them, when he last counted? What about the other 8 TWN? Turn on your location, I just wanna talk —

Speaking of Netflix-canonical facts, I figured refreshing my memory of TWN's page on the witchers who died in their sleep (Everard, Gawain (spelling discrepancy), Merek) couldn't hurt. Disappointingly, said page revealed no other information about said witchers.

So I went back to IMDb and saw that on the full list of credits, two more actors are credited:

Joel Adrian - Hemrik (Instagram, S2 wrap post)

Max Kraus - Tolbert (Instagram, Instagram post about 'The Good Part' of working on TWN (the few shots of using google maps to get to what i can only assume is the set is a Mood))

They're both uncredited for four (4) episodes, which is HALF THE SEASON. I am EXTREMELY angry about this. What the fuck.

Up to 10 named witchers, yaaay.

The tweet I linked to of the wide shot with almost all witchers visible in it gave the remaining two witchers the names of Diever and Vartok. However, google is unhelpful, as is instagram. And yet I persisted.

I swear to goodness I waded through IMDb for at least an hour trying to find names of stunt performers who were in both S2E2 (Kaer Morhen) and S2E8 (Family, in which there was a big battle at KM), but my search was unfruitful. Desperate, I went to Instagram.

Now I’d like to rant here a moment about how I Do Not Like Instagram. It’s hosted by facebook — sorry, “Meta” — and on the iOS app, you have to hit the screen Six Different Times to get to posts you’ve liked. That’s at least four times too many, in my opinion. So this was unfamiliar territory for me. I thought I’d be able to use IG’s search function, and it would work, and I’d easily find the actors’ names and wash my hands of the whole thing.

So you can imagine my disappointment when IG’s search function failed me.

Nevertheless, I stomped through the metaphorical swamp of IG, and I have emerged successful.

Just so we're all on the same page, I was trying to find the actors/stunt doubles who played the witchers labeled Diever and Vartok in the wide shot. Any sort of canonical confirmation. Their names would be nice, but not necessary. From the other images in that tweet, I was looking for an Asian man and a white guy with a beard. Can't be too hard, right?

For those curious, my actions were as follows:

Jota Castellano has a picture on IG of him and five other witchers. (I’d post the pic here, but I’m on mobile, and I need to sleep but I need to finish this post more, let me live)

In the description of said photo, he tags all the TWN-canon witchers. #Vartok gets you literally nine results, so I decided to look under #Diever.

Before perusing said tag, I decided to go in reverse chronological order using the “Recent” tab, as opposed to the “Top” tab.

Y’all. I don’t think I can properly express the feeling of excitement that overtook me when I saw what I can only guess is a character poster for an Asian witcher. I was honestly about to jump out of bed, but I resisted and clicked on it.

Lo and behold, I’d like to introduce y’all to Nicolas Wang, who played Diever in TWN.

Since Nicolas Wang seems to care about giving proper credit, I was pleasantly surprised to see that he tagged a handle I was unfamiliar with.

Meet Lachlan Parkinson (edit: this used to say 'Peterson', I was wrong, his last name is Parkinson), who played Vartok in TWN. As of the time I’m posting this, their most recent IG post is of Peterson’s eyes blacked out with black veins around them, similar to the effect we saw on Cavill’s face when Geralt took whatever potion he took in I think S1.

So far as I can tell, neither of them has been credited on IMDb or in the Netflix credits. I don’t know if that was a stipulation in their contracts, but here we are: all twelve TWN witchers have names and actors.
