Speaking of boxes… just realized I didn’t post some shots of the finished tea box project. Here it is… Spanish Cedar box with walnut/Birdseye maple lid. The outside of the box is finished with walnut oil and beeswax, the lid is French polish. Matt (Jason Priestley) to Angie (Cindy Sampson) after they fall through the floor of a Jazz club and discover a speakeasy.

Priceless as Angie retorts: “It’s not the first time I heard that!” Their chemistry is off the roof, as always! Whenever Jules is home, we love watching Private Eyes together. So, we’re a bit behind, but it’s a good thing: we take our time, we savour it. And it brings me so many fond memories of Toronto, until I can return to my adoptive city!

The corner store owned and operated by a lovely Korean gentleman and his son. They’ve been at Dundas street East and Ashdale for over 30 years and are retiring. The little corner store is closing. It was our local Kim’s convenience.I’m sad to see them go, these people and this place have been part of my Childress life since I moved out to beach/Leslieville in 1990. I’m sure they’ll tear the place down and build a couple of new townhouses. Happy retirement. No more running out minute to get something.
