Cleaning up and trying to lock in my latest fanwalker, Gerron's, design. His lore and backstory are the same, I was just really unhappy with his initial design, and originally was too set on carrying over design elements from a different fancharacter of mine I based them off of.
For the uninitiated, Gerron is a zombie planeswalker, who was brought to life by a necromancer who wanted his magic for themselves- psying dearly with their life and eventually their spark, which Gerron now holds.
He is imbued with incredible magic from his mortal life that can grant anyone any desire they might have. However, using the gifts they are given by Gerron's magic comes at the cost of their life-force, and this allows Gerron to keep from wasting away. He's very upfront about the parasitic nature of his magic, but also seems to only offer their gifts to people who are really, truly desperate and are in no position to turn them down.
Gerron is incredibly vain and takes great pride in preening their perpetually deteriorating body to look as beautiful as possible. They use he/they pronouns.

So since you're all fallen souls, are you guys dead? And what happened to where you originally came from? Do you just not exist there anymore? How's that work?
📱"Not at all, believe it or not. We were all removed from our timeline before we could end up dead."
🏈"Not soon enough. Could've saved me a lot of pain and other issues if she'd come and gotten us sooner."
🍳"...Or she could've just turned us away from Mount Ebott. But there's no use in dwelling on that."

this whole thing about tuvok learning to bend the rules would probably be more meaningful if he hadn’t committed a massive protocol breach like 5 episodes ago lmao

Lecture 5: Buddy Holly and the Crickets perform their iconic early rock ‘n’ roll hit “Peggy Sue” on the Ed Sullivan Show, December 1, 1957. By this time, Buddy Holly was the fastest rising star in the rock ‘n’ roll scene, poised to eclipse even Elvis Presley. The new medium of television proved to be an enormous boost to his career, and Holly appeared frequently on variety shows such as Sullivan’s. His friendly persona, plain style and strong charisma attracted a massive fan base, both in the United States and overseas. Incidentally, in case anyone ever asks you, the titular “Peggy Sue” in the song refers to the girlfriend of Crickets drummer Jerry Allison, who co-wrote the song with Holly and Norman Petty. Peggy Sue Gerron (1940–2018) later married Allison. Rest in peace.

it will genuinely never stop being upsetting to me that Bajoran earrings are against Starfleet dress code but Worf’s baldric (sash) is completely fine and dandy.
both these articles are ways for Bajorans and Klingons to show pride and connection to their culture. for Worf, this need to feel connection is due to the death of his parents and his status as the only Klingon in Starfleet. for Ro Laren (TNG) and Gerron (VOY), this need for connection is due to the fact that the Bajoran people are literally the victims of the Space Holocaust. allowing Bajoran officers to wear their earrings is vital at any point in the franchise’s timeline, but especially at the time of Voyager and Next Gen, because the entirety of DS9 is happening at the same time, with the end goal of Starfleet’s oversight of the station being to bring Bajor into the Federation. the Federation cannot claim it wants to support Bajor while also denying Bajoran officers a very simple display of culture and history.
it cannot be argued that the earrings distract from the cohesion of the uniform, as the baldric is much larger and physically breaks up the lines created by the seams of the shirt. it also cannot be argued that removal of the earrings is for safety concerns (similar to the dress codes of many sports and real-life militaries). the baldric’s size and fit make it much easier to grab and manipulate in order to use against the wearer.
in-canon, the Starfleet dress code’s exclusion of Bajoran earrings is a narrative tool used to explain why the two relevant characters joined the Maquis — and, by extension, the existence of the Maquis as a whole — but that narrative does not make sense when Worf’s baldric exists.
i am fully aware that i am overthinking the entire concept. if that’s not your cup of tea, scroll on by.

Every day, it's a-getting' closer/Goin' faster than a roller coaster...
It's been a running theme for so long, I'd kind of stopped paying attention to it. But then it turned out to be Gabriel and Beelzebub's song, and it's only just occurred to me to consider the implications of that.
I think it might be A Clue.
As Maggie helpfully tells us, it's the B-side of the single, the A-side being Peggy Sue. I'm not familiar with the song, so I had a look at Wikipedia to see what it had to say.
The song was originally entitled "Cindy Lou," but was later changed to "Peggy Sue" in reference to Peggy Sue Gerron (1940–2018), the girlfriend (and future wife) of Jerry Allison, the drummer for the Crickets, after the couple had temporarily broken up. (emphasis mine)
Also, Buddy Holly wrote a sequel. It's called Peggy Sue Got Married. It was played over the opening credits of a movie of the same name, which appears to be a story about time travel and regret and deciding to make choices so you end up staying with the person you had previously broken up with.
