My Love Letter To The Cherry Tree
I could lie here all day in contemplation of the cherry tree's delicately folded petal, within which the long, fertile stalks reach out in hope of reception. Of the graceful stems and slender branches to which they are rooted. The small burst of leaves at the base of each flower's stem green, tinged amber as though the sun had caught each leaf alight. The branch with the cluster of leaves, reaching out as if in desire to touch my cheek or gently hold my face; I notice the dog's bark, and the gentle rustle of my clothing as I adjust my hip sends the sparrows and the blue tits scurrying from their places in the many-handed clock above. I wonder, must my place be amongst busy human society? Because my heart is never as satisfied as when I gaze my eyes on the cherry tree's simple beauty; I wasn't made, like others, to talk and to move and to work, but to sit and to touch and to notice the wonderful, catastrophic symphony of life. And, as my delicate pulse, the cherry tree's blossom rises - then falls - on the breeze, no words spoken, but everything understood.

100 Days of Holistic Self Care Challenge

Challenge and self care, both these things sound a bit counterproductive together but I think this combination can bring immense growth to my life. I don't think I'd get certain things done unless I challenge myself to. I'm nudging myself to be more mindful and present and calmer. It's about my whole life, my body, my fears, my bravery, everything. I got inspired by @thelastneuron, @mindfulstudyquest and a few others I'm forgetting at the moment.
I'm going through a very stressful time right now and my mental health is in pieces. So here we go.
So here is a list of things that I am going to do in this challenge, it's gonna be
an everyday thing,
one time thing,
a thought I need to revisit, or
something else that I need.
You are veryyyy welcome to join anytime you want. It's alright if you don't wanna join too. This challenge is about comfort but also doing the best for oneself.
I'll be updating the list and adding and taking out certain things. You guys can recommend me things too.
Everyday things:
Waking up before 8 am.
Taking a bath within an hour of waking up.
Eating food/breakfast only after taking a bath.
Prayers/mantra before at every action.
1 hour without stimulation from any gadgets.
Go for a 30 minutes walk everyday.
Skincare before going to sleep.
No stimulation/media 30 minutes before going to sleep.
If I start a task, I'm going to finish it no matter what.
Read 20 pages of a book.
Meditate (guided or otherwise) for 10 minutes.
Do not touch the phone/social media apps/Netflix while studying.

One time things:
Social Media DETOX for a week. (no instagram, no tumblr, no whatsapp, no youtube, no spotify)
No stimulation for a whole day. (no spotify, no social media, no tv)

Thoughts to revisit (journal-ish):
How am I feeling? Am I feeling tired? Why am I feeling tired? Are you okay, Tanishka? Are you fine? What made you sad? What made you tick? How do you feel about feeling this way?
Were you brave today? Did you do something that was out of your comfort zone? Did you conquer your fears? How did you feel when you did conquer your fears?
Are you feeling worthy today? Are you feeling like you deserve your dreams? Why do you feel that you don't? Why do you feel that you do? Prove to yourself that you do.
Did you make any mistakes towards yourself or towards others today? If you did its okay, it's fine. Think about it but this thought, or this action doesn't define you. You are maleable, you are the one who can fold themselves into whoever you wanna be.

Piha Beach (36.9545° S, 174.4744° E) / North Island - New Zealand
A black iron-sand beach tucked away in a seaside village just 45 minutes west of Auckland. 20 minutes of narrow, winding roads leading down to the shores are worth this spectacular view.
If traveling during non-winter months, would recommend coming an hour before sunset to experience a wonderful combination of warm, sunbaked sand and a nice cool breeze.

𖦹 it is okay to take breaks: if a task takes up to much energy, add small breaks in between. if the day is too hectic, take some time to come back to yourself and calm your body and mind.
𖦹 you dont need to know: why someone doesnt like you, why some people are shitty, why some things happened the way they did. sometimes its okay to just accept the way life goes and detach yourself from it.
𖦹 it is okay to be you: you dont need to follow trends just to fit in, you dont need to change things you love about yourself just because someone else might not.
𖦹 you are beautiful: ´beauty is subjective´ might be true to some, but beauty is everywhere and within everyone. not only are you unique on the outside, but also on the inside. you are one of a kind, your soul is irreplaceable. appreciate your existence, stop worrying about fitting in, no one is you but you.
𖦹 gratitude: keeping a gratitude journal helps you appreciate the smaller things in life too. listing 3 things you were grateful for for the day is a great thing to add to your night routine in order to end the day on a positive note. dont be discouraged if some days have only 1 thing on the list.
𖦹 take time for hobbies: including a part of your hobby even during a busy day is a positive activity that could lift up your mood and motivate you. this could be as simple as listening to a song.
𖦹 it is okay to ask for help: from friends, family, professionals and people who offer it to you. it is not selfish or annoying, every human needs some social interaction and sometimes that consists of talking about the things that are going on in your life.
𖦹 set boundaries: whoever doesnt respect those, should not be in your energy. you should be the one deciding what you let slide and what crosses a line for you. dont let everything slide past you though.
𖦹 speak, even if your voice shakes: it is okay to be vulnerable, to cry when talking about a sensitive topic or to be nervous when speaking with someone you might not know. you are strong.
𖦹 you matter: even if it feels lonely sometimes, there is always someone who cares. if you dont know who to talk to, I am here and so are many others. you are not alone.
𖦹 take time to enjoy: food, drinks, songs, friends, clothes, hobbies etc... being mindful while doing something you enjoy helps you develop a closer relationship to it, while being more fun.
𖦹 stop obsessing over love: while it is okay to manifest your desired relationship, obsessing over it can be very unhealthy.
𖦹 your past does not define you: people change and so can you, you just need to find a healthy way to learn from mistakes and bad situations you were in once.
𖦹 breathe: close your eyes, take a breath and accept positivity into your life. you deserve everything good.

Simple Prayer
The days can feel quite monotonous, Folding over one another as the many pages of a book might Be telling a story, though each day feels quiet, simple and meaningless. There is great power in the prayer of attention. The rumbling on of the bus, the pockets of green amidst the bustling city. God has given us all a life, a story with a few dull pages, A few beautiful moments often scattered amongst The empty ones, and painful endings. I implore you to let your mind quiet, and withdraw from its mirage of control. I promise, it will end in something beautiful.
