My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (2/4)
SPOILERS ALERT!!!
For now, nothing to complain about! We got Nya, we got MAYA AND RAY, we got GILES PANTON BACK A LEGO SHOW!!! 😍😍😍
Of course now I'm definitely curious about what the story is really about, like I'm guessing Wojira will wake up at some point so... Great Devourer all over again maybe? 😅 Idk, for now I just wanna enjoy Nya having her moment 🥳
Alright, here we go!
GENERAL THOUGHTS
New alert for reader, during the Nexo Knights period I was and still am the hugest Clay fan. Now that his voice is in this season I might scream more than necessary... keep that in mind 😅
I love the humor in this, all random but still kinda clever 😂😂 Maybe I'm biased because I love Jay but still 🤷‍♀️
I really like the design of the marine world, very cool!! 🌊🌊🌊
I guess I'm not really seeing any big plot twist moment for now? Ninjago seasons have history of basing seasons on a "we need to prevent this event from happening but it will happen anyway", so I can see Wojira waking up no matter what 🤷‍♀️
I wonder if that will be shocking? Usually when this situation happen, someone makes a major sacrifice (Zane with the Overlord, sensei Garmaron with Chen, again sensei G with the Preeminent...). Maybe Maya? I DON'T WANT THAT 😭 But I am curious, everything is going nicely and I'm not sure what it will bring! 🤩 I'M EXCITED SO LET'S GO!!!
THE WRATH OF KALMAAR
So this is the name of Clay's new incarnation, neat! 👍
Okay really, for having a season lately the main character just can't help but be trapped by the villain: kinda Zane in the ICE Chapter, Jay in Prime Empire, Cole in Master of the Mountain... we can call it a tradition at this point 🤷‍♀️
Giant serpent, yadda yadda, I wonder if we're gonna address the Great Devourer at some point? Not mandatory, but the reference would be very cool 🤩
Clay's new incarnation is a prince I- *hyperventilates in awe*
Nya playing dumb lol, I don't know if that's personal experience as she used to get kidnapped a lot in the past or she just have too many idiots in her life 😂
ALSO ANOTHER BEST GIRL'S SMIRK
Tumblr media
NYA YOU'RE TOO MUCH ILY ❤💙❤💙
Jay I love that you're so worried about Nya but maybe try NOT TO DIE? YOU'RE WITH LLOYD AND ZANE YET YOU'RE THE ONE GOING FOR THE SACRIFICE WTH?? 😱 But he's worried about his cool GF I kinda get it, also he didn't do it so good...
WHAT. THE. HECK.
Tumblr media
WHO ARE YOU OH MY FIRST SPINJITZU MASTER YOU'RE ADORABLE I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU YOU ABSOLUTE CUTIE 🤩🤩🤩
So Giles is doomed to voice LEGO characters with daddy issues 😂 That being not having a dad at all or having one that is... a good guy? Idk he seems chill with the surface at first glance, I wonder what's the story of this family
Maya reminds of my mom, she also mentions her work a lot and I study the same thing. But she doesn't want to brag, it gets annoying but she just wants to give me advice. It's nice to see actually 👍 Also Ray reference NEAT ❤❤❤
Wow, if any child-parent couple of this show was doomed at going semi Emperor's New Groove style, I would've bet on Ed and Jay honestly 😅
Oh HECK yes I knew that with my water girls things were BOUND to get cool 😎 ... yeah I know where the door is *goes away*
JAY NO WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT TRYING TO DIE STOP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!! 😱😱😱
My GOSH that scared the crap out of me 😅 Jay honey we have too many deaths in this team, you're not helping... BUT YOU POWERED AN ENTIRE SHIP BECAUSE YOU LOVE NYA AND YOU DIDN'T DIE AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BLUEBELL 💙💙💙
They were all so worried, I love this ninja family so freaking much 💜💜💜 Also better not tell this one to his GF 😂
And Bluebell?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome to the "change eye color because of elemental power" team! WE GOT ANOTHER ONE I LOVE WHEN IT HAPPENS!!! 😍😍😍
Awww, Zane letting Jay be the captain, that was so cute of him 💕
Another great episode! Doing great so far but I still wonder if we got into the main story. Feels like there should be more, well we got time! Next one! 😊
LONG LIVE THE KING
Sooooo... that's one very telling title 😅 If we're going full Lion King on this one, I think I know where this is going 😵
Maya: Don't they know that metal taste terrible?!? (Again feels like Kai could say something like this 😂)
FINALLY NYA USING FREAKING WATER POWERS UNDER THE SEA!!! Thank you Maya for saying out loud what we were all thinking 👌👌
NINJA TO THE RESCUE!!!
Pff, okay, the fact that Kalmaar is all evil and cruel and then he gets startled like that, it's kind or adorable! 💕 Honestly Giles got such a deep voice, with Clay it was firm warm and reassuring, here we got plain devious and I ADORE it 😍😍😍
Maya come on don't doubt your daughter 😅 But I like her, and if she knew Nya they way we all do she wouldn't doubt that she could make it every time 😎
Yeah I was right, the king seems chill... oww I fear what's coming then 😳
Okay, so Kalmaar thinks that the world should go back to be lead by them like in the past, while the king just wants peace with the surface. And as we know, no drama no season so...
Yep, saw the death coming 😅
WHOA DID NOT SEE THAT LITTLE BLAME ACT COMING KALMAAR IS SO EVIL!!!... with a glorious voice but still (Rose focus on something that is not that godlike voice, you can do it 💪💪)
THE OLD ONE TWO I LOVE THIS SO MUCH COMBO ATTACK!!! 🌊❄🌊❄
Awww Benthomaar is actually really cute, he's so worried about his father 😢 And he's adopted apparently? I wanna know the story!!! 🤩🤩
Yep, there's the reason why Zane got a mask even though he doesn't need one, it completes his attire 😂😂😂 My gosh how I love this nindroid ❄
Did... did Jay just say phooey? Dude Ducktales ended a while ago but I'm still not over it 😭
I said it once before I'll say it again, Ninjago is really REALLY good at making death scenes. Like, omg, I genuinely felt sorry for them 😢😢 I also really liked that the king didn't ask to be avenged, he still wanted peace and he asked his son to protect the ninja and he cried actual tears...
Tumblr media
MY HEART WTH 😭😭😭 So we're adding this to the real tears moments of the show, with Jay crying over pie, Zane with the flashback of his dad, Jay crying over Nya and Lloyd thinking the ninja are gone... my world this show is angsty 🙂
Third startle for prince Kalmaar, I love the gag 😂 Oh wait, king Kalmaar 🤷‍♀️
Okay, we got a coup, the ninja running away because they got framed, Benthomaar is most likely going to join them or at least help them, I guess Wojira will come out at some point while... Kai, Ray and Cole are still playing videogames? 😅
THIS IS GETTING COOL I WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT AAAAHHH HECK YES THERE IS THE HYPE!!! 😍😍😍
Although I hope we get more stuff with Nya and Maya, that's what I like 🤩
ESCAPE FROM MERLOPIA
I'm good at English and I can follow most of it, but the fantasy names are tricky so I didn't get before that this was the name of the place 😅 It's nice, at least it's not another Atlantis 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
LLOYD I SWEAR TO YOUR GRANDPA IF YOU TRY TO DIE AGAIN 😱
NYA YOU ARE NOT A GOOD SUBSTITUTE NONE OF YOU ARE OMG 😱😱
Ah, there he is, my new son Benthomaar 💙 He is so lovable already, I know nearly nothing about him and I like his character already a lot! He could relate with all of the ninja really, but maybe with Jay the most? They were both adopted after all 🤔🤔
*scribble note for a fanfic for later if this doesn't come up in the season*
Alright moving on 😗
I am so happy Nya gets a season, Kelly got a great emotional range that doesn't come out often in my opinion, but with a full introspection of water goddess we are all blessed by her voice acting 😍
Gotta say, admitting that Bentho didn't have to help them to answer the usual 'Can we trust him' question is pretty reasonable, like, better than other stupid answers 😅
Also don't mind me
Tumblr media
Just screenshotting by ship 💙❤💙❤
Somehow lately we are letting Jay do the talking and I both hate and LOVE the fact 😂😂 Plain Bluebell nonsense, heck yes that's my jam👌👌
MAYA IS SO COOL OMG 🤩🤩
I literally can't not laugh at the startle gag with Kalmaar 😂
LLOYD WHAT DID I JUST SAY ABOUT SELF SACRIFICING!! PLEASE IT'S NOT EVEN YOUR SEASON!! 😱😱😱😱
Aww Jay is still the Captain, nice! Wonder if it's giving him Skybound flashbacks... I hope not considering all he went through that time, poor Sparky 😅😅
ARE THOSE LITTLE WU ROCKETS?? 🤯
Can we skip a season and hang out with Pixal one time? I really wanna know how she organizes her free time to create these things 😍😍😍
THANK YOU LLOYD FOR NOT DYING ONCE AGAIN, MUCH APPRECIATED!!! 💚💚💚 My green bean needs a vacation... they all do 😅
THEY ARE
Tumblr media
SO BEAUTIFUL 💙🌊💙🌊
Alright, back to the island hoping Kalmaar will not track us and follow us so he can get to the place and discover the amulet 🙂
Are we not calling the others? I miss my flame babe and Rocky ❤🖤❤🖤 Also RAY WATCHA DOIN I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING 🤩🤩
THE TALE OF BENTHOMAAR
Wait what? Shark boy backstory? SHARK BOY BACKSTORY?!? 👀👀👀
Wow, I see that Kalmaar didn't change a thing growing up, still the same gonna-be-a-villain 😂 Of course his voice got a lot deeper and cool and okay you know I love his voice moving on
I find it kinda funny that Kalmaar is so focused on royal blood and superiority, while Clay was basically a farm boy who worked his way up. Giles knows how to get the character no matter what 😍
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
BABY BENTHOMAAR AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
The king seems like such a good pers- fish- creature 😅 Now I'm double sad that he died, my world, why do I always care so fast, it's not healthy in this show where everyone could die 😰😰
I'M SORRY IS THAT KAI'S HAIR??? 😂😂😂 I LITERALLY CAN'T LOOK AWAY WTH I DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS
Literally every frame of Benthomaar makes me love him even more 😢
Interesting that we got an academic villain, he kinda reminds me of Clouse in a way, maybe even Harumi since she studied her way to her plan as well? I like that we got a bit of personality too!
Using your little bro for your own purpose... it's very evil but kinda also brotherly like 😂
Benthomaar really gives me that very PRECIOUS vibe, kinda the perfect son but also a naive and unaware BABY 💙
LEGO HUG 🤩🤩 Not exactly reciprocated but still 😅
Ooohhh, so this is how he found the temple! I like this, it shows that Bentho is most likely physically stronger than Kalmaar, while evil brother is focused on brain and studies. They are planned differently, I like it! 😚😚
Ouch, peer pressure... sibling pressure? Eh you get what I mean 😂
POOR BENTHO 😭😭😭 YOU GOT THE NINJA NOW DON'T WORRY WE'RE NEVER GONNA LEAVE YOU ALONE YOU PRECIOUS SHARK BABY!! 🦈🦈🦈
Bentho: will I really fit in with you guys? Do you really understand how I feel?
Lloyd: Jay was adopted, Nya's parents were gone most of her life, Zane lost his father while mine turned evil
Bentho(tearing up): yeah that can work
Okaaaaayyyyy, I like that we got a bit of backstory for Bentho too! We didn't get much for Vanya in Master of the Mountain, which is the only thing I was sad about (very little detail, AMAZING season 🖤🖤🖤), nice to see it here!!
But I really want more Nya and Maya interactions, I hope we'll soon get to them again!! 😍😍😍
Alright, getting somewhere here! I'm very curious about what's next 🤩🤩

August 2024
“Again!” Jamie giggled, splashing his way over to Steve who laughed and waited for Jamie to reach him.
“Ok ,one…two…three…” hooking his hands under Jamie’s armpits he gently launched him into the air and the 4 year old laughed hysterically before he hit the water with a splash in the deeper end of the pool before emerging, from the surface.
“You’re gonna give me a heart attack…” Katie sighed from where she was sat on the steps to the pool, submerged to her shoulders. Rori was suspended in the little inflatable baby support, her legs kicking out behind her as Katie gently pushed her away then pulled her back, the baby smiling and thrashing with her arms.
“He’s fine ain’t you son?” Steve asked as Jamie doggie paddled over to him, grinning.
“It’s like flying Momma!”
“Hmmm.” she said, as Jamie jumped on his dad’s back and he pulled at Steve’s neck. Steve, playing along threw himself backwards taking them both under the surface before he stood up, shaking his head like a dog as Jamie’s laugh hit his ears.
“You’re getting strong pal.” he said, turning his head over his shoulder so he could look at Jamie. Jamie grinned.
“How’s my little water baby doing?” Steve asked as he carried Jamie on his back to where his wife and daughter were, Jamie scrabbling out of the pool and heading to the lounger for a drink.
“She’s fine.” Katie smiled, as Steve turned his attention to Aurora, a huge grin on his face as she looked at him and beamed, waving her legs and arms as fast as she could.
“Look at you princess!” he said as Katie pulled her back towards them. He dropped down so his shoulders were under the water and Rori was at eye level. “Think she’s enjoying it.”
Katie smiled as the two of them watched the baby for a moment before Katie looked up at Jamie who was sat now with Lucky between his legs, gently talking to the dog. “Do you know what time it is?”
Steve glanced at his watch “Almost 4.”
“I should really think about starting dinner.”
“Leave it….” he said, turning to her, pressing his lips to hers. “Come on, when was the last time we got an afternoon like this?”
She smiled, “Feels like a while that’s for sure…”
“So…we can chuck a frozen pizza in for Jamie and we can get a take-out…” he said, moving so he was behind her, his arms curling around her waist, pulling her back so she was perched on his bent legs, his chin resting on her shoulder “Eat by the pool…” he placed a kiss to the crook of her neck, “And then later when he’s in bed and she’s settled we can hit the hot-tub…” another kiss “maybe a bottle of wine…”
“You feeling amorous Soldier?” Katie grinned, tipping her head round to face him.
“Always when you’re concerned…” he winked, his lips again meeting hers, only this time the kiss slightly deeper until they broke apart after a loud splash, followed by a smaller splash drew their attention.
Jamie had launched himself back into the pool, followed by Lucky who had clearly decided he too needed to get in the action.
They stayed in the water for another 15 minutes or so until Rori started to get a bit grouchy, and Katie took her out, wrapping them both in a towel and sitting in the quiet for a while to feed her. Steve and Jamie followed her out a little while later, both drying themselves off before Steve took Jamie inside to get him a juice box and throw his pizza in the oven. Jamie then insisted he wouldn’t make it until his pizza was done as he as starving, so Steve got him quick snack of breadsticks and hummus and sent him back out onto the garden where he made his way over to the side of the pool, flopping down on the lounger next to his Momma.
Deciding that a snack was actually a pretty good idea really, Steve grabbed a few things from the fridge, namely olives, more breadsticks, dips, cheeses and was about to carry it down to the pool area when the security system sounded to tell him that Emmy had come home.
“It’s ok…you’re ok…” his ears picked up Brooke’s voice from the hall and instantly he frowned as he heard Emmy’s deep breathing too. He strode into the hallway just in time to see Emmy slide down to the floor, her back pressed to the door as she tugged her knees to her chest.
“Emmy?” Steve asked, quickly dropping down in front of her. “Hey…look at me…”
She looked up and he gently reached out, his hand smoothing back her hair “Use your numbers ok, like we used too, remember?”
She gripped his hand tight and her eyes screwed shut as she desperately tried to regulate her breathing and Steve, not once taking his eyes off his daughter issued Brooke with an instruction to go and get Katie. Less than 2 minutes later she was also on her knees next to Emmy having left Brooke to watch the younger two and it was a minute or so later before the 16 year old began to breathe normally, her eyes slowly blinking as they returned to their usual size instead of being blown wide open.
“You ok?” Katie asked gently, looking at Emmy. She nodded.
“Sorry…”
“Don’t…” Steve looked at her as she fell into his arms, pressing her face against his bare chest as he wrapped his arms around her, kissing her head “Don’t every apologise for that, we told you.” The amount of panic attacks their daughter had had when she first came to live with them meant they’d been fairly used to them, but she hadn’t had one in a VERY long time, not since the events of the Final battle with Thanos had hit her and she’d broken down about losing her Uncle Tony, Auntie Nat and then how close she had to losing her parents. Emmy was a strong, independent teenager who for the most part simply got on with things, letting a lot of stuff that would bother other people wash right over her head. But clearly something had triggered her today.
“You need a drink sweetheart?” Katie asked and Emmy nodded.
“Ok. Think you can stand?” Steve asked.
“You’re not carrying me.” Emmy looked at Steve and he raised an eyebrow.
“You used to love me doing that.” Steve quipped and she rolled her eyes.
“Yeah at the Parties at the Kids home.” she grumbled “I’m not 7 anymore.”
“Never too old for your Pa to carry you.” Steve teased, standing up and offering him her hand. She took it and he pulled her to her feet, and despite her protestations at her age she kept her fingers tightly wound around his as they headed to the kitchen.
“Emmy!” Jamie shot off his seat and threw himself at his older sister. She smiled and bent to give him a hug.
“Hey Jay…” she smiled, “You been swimming?”
“Daddy was throwing me.” he grinned. “I bet he could do it for you too.”
“Sure he could” Emmy smiled as she shakily took a seat, glancing at Rori who was in Brooke’s arms, her little hands tangling in the girl’s long, red hair.
“Jamie, why don’t you go in the den for a moment, watch some TV.” Katie looked at him, adjusting the crochet slip she had thrown on over her bathing suit “Momma and Daddy need to talk to Emmy for a second.”
“But I don’t wanna.” he frowned.
“Hey, why don’t you show me your legos?” Brooke said quickly. Steve could see the cogs in his son’s head whirring as he considered this for a second before he nodded.
“Ok.”
“Thanks Brooke.” Katie said to her as she handed Rori back over.
“No problem Mrs R.” she said, allowing Jamie to tug her by the hand out of the room.
Once they were gone Katie adjusted Rori in her arms so that her head was tucked against her shoulder, mouth resting on her collar bone and Steve took a seat next to Emmy after pouring her a glass of water.
“Wanna tell us what happened Em?” he asked gently.
“We’d just been in The Hub.” she said, “You know the Computer shop because Brooke needed a new charger for her tablet.” Emmy swallowed and took a sip of her drink “We were walking down towards the bus stop so we could head home and we’d just passed that bar on the corner, you know the Irish Pub place?”
“Mc Mahons, yeah we know it…” Steve nodded
“And then he came out.”
“Who?” Katie asked, her eyes not leaving her daughter.
“Him…my old foster father. The one that used to hit me.”
Steve took a deep breath and breathed out through his nose “Did he hurt you?”
“No, not really…he erm, he didn’t recognise me at first and I kept walking but Brook had stopped and when she shouted my name he realised it was me and he grabbed my arm and…”
“Ok…ok…” Katie said gently, as Steve gently laid a hand on their daughter’s shoulder.
“Did he do anything else?” he asked. Emmy shook her head.
“He just started shouting stuff, saying he knew that I’d landed on my feet and that I was nothing but a worthless brat and that he would come and pay you a visit one day, tell you all about what I used to do and how bad I was and then you’d throw me out and…”
“Em, he’s an ass hole.” Katie said gently “You were never a bad kid. You’d been treated appallingly, what that man did do you…” she shook her head “It was cruel and abusive and…”
Steve’s hand fell to Katie’s knee under the table as she looked away, blinking back the tears.
“Emmy, me and your mom love you.” Steve looked at her, “We love all you kids more than anything, and nothing this dick says or does will change the way we feel. You know that right?” “I know, I just didn’t like seeing him that’s all.” she said gently “I just had all these flashbacks to the basement he locked me in and the belt…”
She swallowed and looked down. Steve looked at Katie, the jaw in his nerve twitching with anger as he took a deep breath and ran his hand up Emmy’s back.
“Well I hope he makes good on his promise and does pay us a visit.” he said his eyes flashing “I’d be very happy to exchange a few words with him, maybe a few fists too.”
Emmy smiled softly as Katie shook her head.
“Pretty sure your Uncle Buck would have a something to say too. And between you and me, his Murder Strut is frightening.” “Murder Strut?” Emmy looked up, the corners of her mouth twitching. Katie nodded.
“Trust me, I saw it a few times. Scared the shit out of me.”
“Woah, you saying I’m not scary?” Steve scoffed, folding his arms.
“Bucky’s a Rottweiler, you’re more of an angry retriever.” Katie shrugged and at that point Emmy laughed, which was exactly what her parents had been hoping to achieve. Steve flashed a wink at his wife before he turned back to Emmy.
“You know he won’t ever hurt you again, not now you’re with us.”
“I know. I love you guys.” she smiled and Steve dropped a kiss to her cheek. She looked up, wiped her eyes and then glanced at her mom. “Can Brooke stay tonight?”
“Course she can, I’ll call Jen”
“It’s ok she can message…”
“I’ll call her.” Katie said firmly, “Brooke was there today so Jen has a right to know what happened. Don’t worry, she won’t be mad at you.” “Kay…” Emmy nodded “What’s for dinner?”
“Your dad threw a pizza in for Jamie, we’re gonna get take out and hang by the pool.” Katie said.
“Anything you fancy?” Steve asked.
“Can we try the Greek place?”
“Sure.” Steve nodded “Hey, do they do Shwarma?”
“Gyros.” Katie said, “Same thing almost.”
“I’m in.” Steve said.
“I’m gonna go watch TV for a bit, that ok?”
“Course.” Katie smiled.
Emmy stood up and moved behind her dad, hugging him from behind, her arms round his shoulders. He tilted his head so she could kiss his cheek before she moved to do the same to her mom, giving Rori a peck.
“Love you both.” she smiled at them, before she left the room.
As soon as she was gone Steve stood up, his calm demeanour ebbing away as Katie looked up at him, shaking her head.
“I wanna kill him Steve.”
“You and me both doll.” he paced.
“Think we should call the police?” Katie asked, gently rocking Rori to and fro as she had started to grumble.
Steve contemplated what she had said before he paused, folded his arms and looked at the door, then back to Katie “I got a better idea.”
“What?”
“Do you trust me?” he asked.
“You know I do”
“Then leave it with me.” he said simply
“Steve…” she stated, instantly understanding what he was implying “You can’t.” “Why not?”
“Well, for starters we have no idea where he lives.”
Steve snorted “Sweetheart, you’re forgetting who we know.”
“Oh, no…you can’t drag Sam into this.” Katie shook her head “Ross is being an asshole with him as it is without you giving him ammo by getting Sammy into trouble.”
“I’m not” Steve smiled, raising his eyebrow “I’m gonna drag Bucky into it instead.“
****** Bucky sat at the bar, baseball cap tugged down over his eyes. He’d been reliably informed his target drank in this run-down back dive every Wednesday and Thursday evening. He liked the happy hour, apparently.
Aint gonna be happy for much longer, buddy.
Despite the fact that he was trying to live a normal life now (ok, maybe helping Sam out every now and then) when Steve had asked him to help him with this particular mission he’d immediately said yes. Not simply because Steve was his best friend, but because it involved Emmy. As far as Buck was concerned, the Rogers kids might as well be his own in that respect because he’d give his life to protect any of them.
And then there was Brooke. Bucky had been dating Brooke’s mom, Jennifer now for a few weeks after they’d hit it off at Steve’s birthday party. It was great, slow moving but that’s what he wanted, and when he’d heard that her daughter had been caught up in all this business as well, it was another reason for him to slip back into his old assassin mode.
Only this time his instructions were clear. Apprehend alive.
At first when Steve had told him this he had been about to tease him, wind him up, surely after all these years the Captain had finally found that trigger to flip him over to the dark side, but then he had seen something stir in his best pal’s eyes. He’d told him then about an incident in a HYDRA base, where he had killed on of Katie’s captors and Bucky knew, it was there alright, and he had a feeling he was going to see it whenever they caught this punk.
He ordered another drink, his eyes re-reading the paper he’d brought with him for the 15th time. To most people stake-out work like this would get them bored, antsy, but not Bucky. He’d waited much longer before and he knew that if you got like that you lost concentration which made things 100 times harder in the long run. His eyes scanned back to the entrance to the bar, flicking back round the pub, and he observed the people to make sure he hadn’t missed the man sneaking in, even though he knew that was basically impossible. Satisfied he hadn’t, he took the drink off the bar tender, paid him (another rule of spy work- never set up tabs, you run without paying and your face is recognised all over the damned scene). He took a sip of his beer before he heard the door open and he looked round, fighting the smirk on his face as finally his target walked in and straight to the bar to Bucky’s right.
The man ordered his drink, a straight black label whiskey and when it was served he paid with a bunch of crumpled ones and picked the glass up, heading to a table.
Bucky had to hand it to the guy, in the half an hour he spent in the bar he knocked back a good 5 helpings of scotch before he stood up, and rather unsteadily made his way to the door. Giving him enough time to get out of the door, Bucky then rose and followed him. He tailed him into another bar, then another, before after the 3rd the man headed home.
Bucky watched him unlock the door to the rundown apartment block, before he staggered inside. Quick as a flash Bucky shot over the road, sticking his foot in the door to stop it from shutting. Slipping inside he pressed himself up against the dark wall, just to the side of the post boxes, as the man turned around. After a second or so Bucky heard him heading up the stairs. He walked to the bottom of the steps, and keeping his footsteps light he headed after him and emerged onto the second landing, peering round the wall to watch as the man stopped outside a door, pulling out his keys.
Bucky waited until the door was closed before he headed back down to the ground floor, pulling out his phone.
“I got him.”
***** Steve climbed out of his car, looking up at the ramshackle building before he crossed the road. Bucky was waiting for him and opened the door to the apartment block from the inside.
“What you come dressed as?” Bucky arched an eyebrow, scanning Steve up and down. He was dressed in a pair of black jeans, a dark navy t-shirt and black boots, with a cap pulled down over his face.
“You.” Steve said simply, and Bucky snorted.
“He’s on the Second floor.” he said simply “Number 202. Still think you should just let me shoot him.”
“No.” Steve said “We’re not killing him…”
Bucky rolled his eyes “Why?”
“Because I want him as scared as he made Emmy.” Steve said simply. “He can spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.”
Bucky shrugged, “Your call…”
Steve headed to the stairs and started to climb them, stopping as he heard his foot crunch on something.
“Nice place…” he mumbled as he looked down to see he had stood on a cockroach.
“Don’t be a snob Stevie…”  Bucky looked at him, and Steve rolled his eyes.
“Even my place in the 40s wasn’t this grim.” he turned to look at his friend before he continued up the flight of steps.
“It wasn’t the ritz either.” Bucky shrugged as they emerged onto the landing. They stopped outside the door and Steve took a breath before he looked at Bucky.
“Looks like we need a key….” he quipped. Bucky gave a smirk, before he drew his left hand back and punched straight through the door, grabbing the handle and turning it to undo the lock from the inside. He threw it open and strode inside, Steve casting a look around before he followed and pulled the door shut behind them. Hearing the noise the man flew out of the kitchen, a knife in his hand, stopping dead when he saw Bucky.
“Who the fuck are you?” he demanded.
Bucky simply raised his eyebrows.
“Look, if Mario sent you…I told him, he’ll get his money…”
“I don’t know any Mario…” Bucky shook his head, “Well, not unless you count the one that rides on the karts in that game my nephew enjoys kicking my ass at. Now put the knife down Jack before someone gets hurt.”
“How do you know my name?” Jack asked, his eyes not once leaving Bucky, missing the Captain who was stood in the darkness of the room behind him. “What the fuck do you want?”
“I don’t want anything…” Bucky said, shrugging, “But he does…”
At that point Steve stepped forwards, drawing up besides his friend, getting a good look at the man in front of him. He was quite tall, but lanky, with a pointed noise and sharp features, reminding Steve of an overgrown rat.  Which fitted him perfectly, out and out vermin. Jack frowned and squinted slightly as he looked straight at Steve, suddenly paling even further. Whilst Steve looked a lot different from the once blue-eyed All American hero the world recognised him to be, there was no mistaking who he was, especially to the man in question. Steve stood stock still, his hands falling to the buckle which was round the waist of his black jeans, his chest flexing under his navy t-shirt as he glared at the man.
“Woah…look…I don’t want any trouble…” Jack began to press.
“You should have thought about that before you touched and threatened my daughter.” Steve’s voice was icy.
Jack’s hand clenched around the knife and Bucky rolled his eyes, before he whipped off the glove on his left hand, holding it up, the metal glinting in the dim light of the lamp that stood in the corner of the grubby apartment.
“This can do far more damage than that blade can.” he said simply, looking at his hand before he turned to Jack “Go ahead, I’ll even give you one free swing. But it better be fast.”
Steve expected the man to drop the knife, but instead he lunged forwards. Bucky sighed, and almost lazily dodged to the right before he knocked the knife out of the man’s hand with a single swipe and gripped him around the neck with his hand, slamming him hard into the wall.
“That was really fucking stupid.” he said, tightening his fingers around the man’s windpipe, lifting him off the floor. The man grabbed at Bucky’s arm, desperately trying to prise his fingers from around his neck.
“Buck…” Steve said, and Bucky let go, Jack slumping to the floor. Steve reached down, grabbed his shirt and hauled him to his feet slamming him against the wall.
“Now…” Steve said, his hands tightening. “I don’t like bullies. And that’s what you are. I know exactly what you did to Emmy, all the times you beat her, hurt her, whipped her with a belt until her back split and bled. Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t rip you in half right now.”
“Captain America…nah…you wouldn’t…” Jack stuttered, shaking his head “You’re a good guy…”
“Well, here’s the thing.” Bucky said, picking up the knife that Jack had dropped, leaning on the wall, lazily twirling the blade in his hand. “He’s not Captain America anymore. Just some guy whose daughter you threatened.”
“Which makes me a hundred times more dangerous…” Steve said.
“And I, well, I just don’t give a shit.” Bucky shrugged “Killed a lot of people one way or another…what’s one more piece of shit like you gonna mean?”
Jack looked at Steve, shaking his head “No, you wouldn’t…”
“I snapped the neck of the man who raped my wife.” Steve said, his gaze not once leaving the man’s in front of him “Trust me, you have no idea what I would do to keep my family safe.”
He paused for a second, letting it sink in as Jack swallowed.
“But I’m a fair man.” Steve said, letting go of Jack who dropped a few inches before he pulled himself back up full height. Steve smoothed down the man’s dirty t-shirt before he smiled at him. “So I’m gonna give you a chance to play ball. You got 48 hours to leave New York.” “By that we mean the state.” Bucky clarified.
“And if I ever get a sniff that you’re back in town…” Steve continued.
“And trust us, we’ll know…” Bucky mused, still looking at the knife before he grinned at Jack “We got friends in high places, eyes and ears everywhere…” “….then you’ll lose more than your teeth.” Steve concluded, matter of factly.
“My teeth? What do-“
CRACK.
Steve cut him off with a sharp jab straight into his mouth and Jack dropped to the floor howling in pain as the blood poured from between his fingers which clamped over the lower part of his face.
“Got the message?” Steve asked, standing over him as Jack rolled around, screaming. He mumbled something, his head nodding furiously.
“Can I shoot him now?” Bucky asked.
“No.” Steve shook his head.
“Just once in the knee?”
“No.” Steve snorted “Come on…let’s get out of here, the amount of noise he’s making someone’s bound to hear. He turned to go, and then heard another loud scream. Spinning around he saw that Jack’s hand was now pinned to the floor by the knife Bucky had been holding.
“What?” Bucky asked, shrugging as Steve shot him a look “You said I couldn’t shoot him, didn’t say anything about stabbing him.”
***** The two friends sat at a bar, not far from Steve’s house, each with a beer in hand.
“So, run that by me again…” Bucky said.
“I told Katie I was meeting you for a drink.” Steve shrugged, nodding at the bottle “Technically now I’m not lying.”
“You’re a punk.” Bucky snorted.
“She’ll know full well where I’ve been.” Steve shrugged “She ain’t stupid…”
“Good luck to you pal.” Bucky said, taking a drink “She’s scary when she’s angry.”
Steve snorted “Nah, she won’t be mad…she knew full well I was planning on giving him a warning so…”
“Then why not just tell her?” “Because she’d worry.” Steve said simply.
“Think he’ll heed it?” Bucky asked after a little pause and Steve pondered the question for a moment before he nodded.
“Like I said he’s a bully.” he took a swig of his beer before he looked at Bucky “You know as well as I do that the minute someone bigger stands up to them they back off.”
“Gotta hand it to you pal…” Bucky said, sitting back “You come a long way since you were defending yourself with a trash can lid behind the movie theatre down town…”
“So everyone says.” Steve shrugged “Still don’t feel any different.”
“Remember when Howard’s flying car was the strangest thing we had ever seen?” Bucky sighed “I almost miss those days.” “Would you go back?” Steve asked, “Given the chance?”
Bucky took a deep breath and wrinkled his nose “Nah, I’m too different…too much has happened you know. I don’t think I’d settle. Plus this would probably attract a little more attention than it does now.” he said, flexing his left hand.
Steve smiled “I know what you mean. If you’d asked me when I first came round…I’d have jumped at the chance but after Katie…” he took another drink before he let out a soft huff. “I crossed oceans of time to find her.”
Bucky raised an eyebrow. “Dracula…romantic.” he said and Steve let out a laugh.
“Speaking of romantic…” Steve looked at his friend “How’s it going with Jen?”
“Ok.”
“Just ok?”
“I’m taking it slow.” Bucky shrugged “We’ve been on a few dates and…yeah I like her Steve and she likes me so…”
“Well if you ever want any advice on modern day dating…”
“The day I ask you for dating advice is the day I quit.” Bucky snorted
“I did ok.” Steve grinned “Well, more than ok actually. I lucked out.”
“No, you got what you deserved.” Bucky shook his head “A woman that loves you for who you are, not what you are.” Steve felt his cheeks flush a little as he shrugged “Not quite sure what I did to deserve her but…”
“You’re a good man.” Bucky said “You always were and always have been. A pain in my ass like, but…” he drained his beer and shook his head “Anyway, enough sentimental crap. You want another?”
Steve contemplated that before he shrugged “Sure, why not?”
One more turned into 5 more, and it was a good 2 hours later and approaching midnight when the men left. It wasn’t the first time they’d been out for drinks since being re-united, but to Steve it was the first time that it felt like the old days. They’d talked about so many memories, he’d laughed until he had cried as they both recalled some of their antics, and he felt completely at peace when he walked into the hallway of his house.
Removing his cap he ran a hand through his hair before he hung it on the coat rack on the wall. Then he dropped his keys into that infernal golden pineapple bowl that Katie had bought him all those years ago and headed into the lounge where Katie was sat in her pyjamas, Rori clutched to her breast as she fed.
“Hey…” he smiled, crossing the floor and dropping a kiss to her lips before he turned his attention to his daughter, his finger gently running along her hardworking cheek.
“You have a good time?” she asked, giving a little yawn.
“Yeah.” Steve nodded. “It was nice. When did she wake up?”
“About half an hour ago.” Katie shrugged “With a bit of luck she’ll go down again soon and sleep for a couple of hours.”
“I’ll do the next feed.” Steve said “You can get some rest.”
“Ok.” Katie agreed, yawning again and as she did so Rori mimicked her, her eyes which were now carrying a slight greenish hue fluttering. Steve gestured for Katie to hand her over, and she did so as Steve held her up over her shoulder, hands that had hours ago been so violent were now ever so gentle, rubbing his daughter’s back to wind her as Katie adjusted her top.  They sat there in silence for a little while before Katie finally spoke.
“So how badly did you hurt him?”
“What?”
“Jack?” She turned her head to Steve who looked at her “I know full well what you were up to.”
“I knew you would.” Steve huffed a laugh “And not too badly. Knocked a few of his teeth out…oh, and Bucky nailed his hand to the floor with a knife. He won’t be bothering Emmy again, or any of us for that matter.”
Katie looked at him for a moment before Rori gave a light burp and Steve gently turned his face, pressing his lips to the baby’s head.
“Here…” Katie said, and Steve handed her over “I’ll go put her down.”
She gathered the baby in her arms before she dropped a kiss to Steve’s mouth “Don’t be too long…”
He arched an eyebrow. “Yeah?”
“Well, you know what you getting all dark and protective does to me…” she grinned, looking down at Rori “That’s what made her in the first place.”
Steve’s eyes darkened at the memory of that particular day in the HYDRA base which he was recalling for the second time in the space of a few hours, albeit for very different reasons. “How could I forget?”
Standing up she walked to the door, Steve watching her go, before she shot him a coy look over her shoulder his pants became a lot tighter than they should have been. He gave a soft groan, before his head fell back against the cushion of the sofa. After a moment or two he stood up and turned off the lights, before heading up the stairs after his wife.
He stood in the doorway, watching as she placed Rori in the crib at the end of the bed before he strode over to her, his hands falling to her waist as he spun her round, his lips crashing to hers. She took the kiss eagerly, her tongue sliding against his as he backed her towards the bed, her hands fumbling with his belt as they went. Neither were wasting any time, and after a quick wrestle with their clothing they both collapsed onto the bed, Steve caging his wife underneath him with his arms and legs.
Their eyes locked for a second before he pressed his lips to hers and kissed her again, slow and hard, both his hands cupping her face, thumbs gently skating her cheeks as she let out a soft groan and he felt his cock twitch. His lips not once leaving hers his right hand gently slid down to her thigh, and his fingers gently gave her hip a squeeze causing her to sigh into his mouth again. Using his hand he hooked her leg round his waist, and ground his erection against her spot causing her to moan as she pulled away from the kiss, her head laying further back against the pillow, her eyes fluttering shut as his mouth dropped, swirling softly around her pebbled nipples, carefully lavishing affection on them in turn, and in moments she was quivering to his touch, her breathing ragged.
“Look at me…” he said, voice low, almost a growl and her eyes sprang open obediently, those sparkling emeralds glinting in the dim light as he held her gaze as he pushed into her, her breath catching in her throat. He stilled for a moment, enjoying her warmth as it gripped him before he moved his hips back, thrusting into her again. His pace was hard, deep and he continually dragged in and out of her, dropping his head to kiss and lick and suck all along her collar bone, knowing full well he would leave marks there for the morning but neither of them cared as their moans grew louder as his thrusts grew more desperate.
"Fuck.” he groaned, both hands now on her hips as he continued his movements and Katie’s hands moved to brace herself against the headboard, her body moving with every slam he made into her. One hand moved to the back of her head and he used it to make her look up, her eyes locking onto his as he felt her body start to quiver.
“I love you…” he said, his pace not slowing in the slightest.
“Love you too Soldier…” her words stuttered as he thrust up hard, stilling slightly, grinding up against her, as she writhed underneath him, a desperate, filthy noise escaping her mouth as her back arched and her hands flew to his back, nails scratching at his skin. God he loved the feel of her doing that, the stinging pain mixed with the pleasure was a heady mix and he took in a sharp breath, dropping his mouth to capture hers as she moaned again, this moan broken as she bucked upwards and clutched at him desperately.
“Stevie…” she moaned and her walls tightened on him as she came, her entire body trembling underneath him and he pulled back so he could watch her, lips swollen from his desperate kisses, cheeks flushed, eyelids fluttering against her cheeks. He continued his pace, her eyes opening moments late to lock onto his as the spring that had been coiled so tightly suddenly released and he spilled himself insider her with a low, rough grunt of her name and he tipped forwards, his hips slowing to a stop as he buried his face in her neck.
The pair of them lay still, the only sounds in the bedroom now were the deep, ragged drawings of breath. Katie gently ran her hands through his hair, as she always did, Steve’s body on top of hers rising and falling through the movements of her deep breathing.  Eventually he raised his head gently and pressed their foreheads together, his nose sliding up and down hers. She smiled at him, and pressed her lips to his in a soft kiss before he rolled over onto his back, and she snuggled into him, her head on his chest. He reached for her left hand which was laying flat against his abs and raised it to his mouth, pressing a kiss to her knuckles, just underneath where her wedding band sat.
“I love you, I love you all so much.” he said gently. She raised her head to look at him, smiling as she kissed him softly.
“I know, I love you. We all do.”
She was asleep before him, Steve lay awake for a little while longer contemplating everything that had gone down that evening. He’d crossed that line again, the darkness that had awoken all those years ago had bubbled inside of him and he wasn’t going to lie, it had been satisfying, and despite what he had said to Bucky, he would have happily killed the snivelling bastard with his bare hands and not even blinked twice about doing so. But something had stopped him short this time, and he knew now what it was.
His kids.
Back then they hadn’t been in the picture, and he wanted to be able to look them in the eye and tell them right from wrong without feeling like a hypocrite. Steve Rogers was a good man, a loyal husband, doting father, and he wanted to be worthy of the love that surrounded him on a daily basis.
He looked down at his sleeping wife before he shifted slightly, dropping a kiss to her head before he closed his eyes and fell into a trouble free sleep.

Baba where are you
ok baba is like dad in mandarin according to google translate, is it actually? I don’t know, but I went with it for the fic
With Steven out on a mission for the king, Andrew is in charge of the house. It starts out easy enough, but things take a turn for the worse when the kids start getting nightmares. Andrew may not be a knight be he’ll still be able to save the day
-----
The room was cold and dark. The lamps that were lighting the house were blown out hours ago.  The rest of the house was asleep. He too was about to fall asleep when he heard his door creak open. Naively he thought it would be Steven, but the steps weren’t heavy enough. Slowly he sat up and squinted into the darkness. The pitter-patter of little feet ended at the side of his bed. When Andrew focused hard enough he thought he could see the faint outline of a little head.
“Papa?” a little voice asked him. It was his daughter Sunny, awake after he put her to bed three hours ago.
“Sweetie? What’s wrong? Why are you up?” Andrew reached down and carefully pulled her up onto the bed with him. Steven was out on a job for King Lee Yang so his side of the bed was empty. Despite the space though, Sunny curled up close to her father. Her little head rested on his shoulder. One of her fists grasped tightly to his shirt.
Andrew held her quietly as she gathered her thoughts. Methodically he rubbed her back as she sniffled. Right as he was about to say something, she spoke up. “Where’s Baba, Papa?” Her voice was squeaky and trembling.
Andrew frowned. He hated answering these questions. “Your baba’s out at work sweetie. General Fulmer has him out on a mission for the King with your Uncle Ryan.”
“When’s he gonna get back?” Sunny whimpered. When Andrew turned down to look at her, he saw her lip wobbling and her eyes a little shinny. Concern filled Andrew.
“Hey honey, why are you crying?”
“I- I had a nightmare, that baba didn’t come home, and I got scared.” Sunny admitted before she started crying. She buried her head into his shoulder and sobbed. Andrew held her tightly and tried his best to comfort her. He always hated this. He loved Steven and loved his passion for his job and his job itself, but moments like these were heart-wrenching. The missions the General would have him go on could be long, and the kids didn’t handle it well. Andrew was waiting for Mark to start crying as well. Nightmares and sleepless nights were abound for Andrew for as long as Steven was gone. This time they were investigating a complaint of a monster in the forest in the Southern District in the kingdom. It was to take one week. Currently, it is day 4. Andrew couldn’t wait for it to be over.
“You know, Baba misses you so much. He can’t wait to come home and smother you in affection,” Andrew quietly told Sunny. Her sobs were starting to get quieter, and her breaths were becoming more even.
“Really?” She asked in her tiny voice,
Andrew smiled softly. “Oh yeah, He’s itching to come home and spend so much time with you.”
“Will he play legos with me?” She asked.
“He’ll play so much legos with you,” Andrew promised. Sunny was quiet again, mulling over her father’s words.
“Tell me another story about him.” The moon was peeking out from the window shining down on them, letting Andrew see their faces. Sunny had her bottom lip out in a pout and her big brown eyes were still tear-stained. Andrew didn’t stand a chance.
“Do you have a certain one in mind?”
“How did you meet Baba?”
“I’ve told you this story before.”
“I wanna hear it again.”
Before Andrew could get into the story, crying could be heard from Mark’s room. Sunny frowned and huffed in annoyance. Andrew softly chided her. “Let’s go see your brother before I tell the story.” Sunny was about to complain before Andrew silenced her with his dad look. He carefully lifted her out of the bed and held her hand as they walked to Mark.
Similar to the rest of the house, Mark’s room was shrouded in darkness. The moonlight did little to illuminate the room. Only the faint outline of toys and the baby himself could be seen. Mark was holding on to the bars of his crib crying his little heart out for his parents. He was sobbing so hard that Andrew couldn’t tell for who though. Quickly, he picked up Mark and tried to calm him down as well. Sunny held his left left leg and watched him like a hawk. Mark blubbered onto his chest for a while calling for Steven and Andrew let him tire himself out. The tears from both of his children soaked his shirt though. Andrew had to remember to change before going to bed.
At first, Andrew walked sound the room but carrying around two kids grew tired so he took them back to his bed to sleep. He put both kids on the bed before changing into a dry shirt. Once in bed, Mark claimed his chest and Sunny wrapped her two-foot-something body around Andrew’s right arm.
Andrew quietly hummed a name-less melody while he waited for his kids to fall asleep. He hoped he got out of storytelling until a sleepy voice piped up. “Papa. you promised us a story.”
“It’s getting late, you're sleepy.”
“But you promised.” Sunny whined sleepily. “I wanna hear stories about Baba.”
“Baba?” Mark asked.
Andrew sighed and rubbed Mark’s head with his other hand. “One story, and a quick one.” Sunny cheered and Mark made confused noises. Adam’s teasing voice rang out in his head, you have the backbone of a chocolate eclair. He’s not wrong, Steven was the strict one of the two.
“Once upon a time, there was a knight. Well, technically he was a knight in training. The brave young knight was wandering around the village in search of something to do. He didn’t have any training to do that day so he was bored. Screams from the bakery caught his attention. He rushed over to see someone trying to steal from the poor baker. Immediately he tackled the culprit. The young knight was very fast. The Baker rushed up to them and thanked the knight profusely. The knight brushed it off and returned the baker’s money.
‘It was nothing, Mr. Baker. I have to go report this criminal. Have a nice day.’
But the Baker wasn’t deterred ‘Surely there is something I can do for you?”
The knight-to-be through long and hard. ‘I could use a hot meal. One meal and we’re even.’
‘Deal.’
The knight left to go give the criminal to the proper authorities and the baker thought about what he was going to give the golden-hearted knight. Later that day, when the knight stopped by for his recompense,  a big meal of soup and noodles and bread was laid out for him. The Baker stood in the corner watching him silently. No one else was in the bakery. The unintentional intimacy of the event made the knight blush. He graciously accepted the meal and started eating. The food was wonderful, so wonderful in fact that the knight kept coming back for more meals day after day. One day, the baker had enough and asked the handsome knight on a date. The knight accepted and one thing led to another and now the thankful baker is lying in bed with his and the knight’s kids telling them bedtime stories while they wait for the courageous knight to come home. The End.”
Mark was passed out snoring on his chest. His little cheek was smushed onto his chest. One hand gripped Andrew’s shirt and the other had Andrew’s thumb tightly in his grasp.  Sunny curled closer on his arm. Andrew could’ve sworn she was asleep but her voice whispered, “thanks, papa. Baba’s so cool.” Andrew had to stifle his chuckle.
“Yeah, your baba is so cool. Go to sleep sweetie.” Sunny nodded and succumbed to dreamworld in no time. Andrew watched his children sleep quietly fully awake after being woken up. As he stayed up his eye drifted to the moon, the same moon that shone under Steven. Come back soon, and safe. We miss you, he thought before he himself fell asleep.
Epilogue:
It was late. Steven sighed wearily in front of his house. Finally, he was home, safe with his family. Before entering he took off his shoes to avoid dirtying up the floor. In one hand was his dirty shoes and in another was his trusty sword. Opening the door with his hands full was tricky. All the lamps from the house had already been blown out. The smell of dinner had deserted the house and a lonely stillness settled around him. Slowly he opened the door, wary of making any noise that could awaken the inhabitants of the house. So far so good, not even the cats woke up. He took off his coat and hung it up on the hook. Any weapons (save his knife) were carefully hidden away. As he trekked through the house, the tension that was coiled inside him slowly leaked out of his body.
Steven peaked into Sunny and Mark’s room and was relieved to see them sleeping safe and sound. He wanted to give them a kiss or a hug but the unwillingness to wake them won out. Finally, he made it to his bedroom with Andrew. The man in question was sleeping soundly in bed. Steven didn’t want to wake him either, but he couldn’t resist placing a light kiss on his forehead. For a minute he took his husband in, re-memorizing his features. His beard is longer and his face seems sharper. His hair is shorter. Steven smiled and went about getting ready for bed. His combat boots were placed in the corner of the closet. His pants and tunic and armor were taken off and replaced with a sleepshirt and some loose pants. Carefully he gets under the covers and finally lets all the tension out of his body. Now he can sleep. Andrew takes one of his hands in his and makes a happy noise.
“I’ve been waiting like 7 days to do that.”
“Sap.”
“I missed you.”
“I missed you too. Missed you more.”
“Impossible.”
“Believe it, honey.”
“Did you get injured? How’d the mission go?”
Steven pulled Andrew closer and kissed his hand. “Nothing but the minor stuff,” he whispered. “The mission went fine. Ryan might’ve broken something but it was during battle so we didn’t notice until afterward. He’s probably fine though.”
“Poor Ryan. Shane’s going to have a heart attack.”
“Oh yeah. No visits to Southern districts for a while for them.” Steven chuckled.
“I’m glad you all came back home relatively uninjured. I can’t speak for their kids, but Sunny and Mark missed you so much.”
“Mmm poor kids. You must’ve been super dad all week.”
“I did what I had to.”
“I’ll make sure to spend extra time with them tomorrow.”
“You better. I promised that you would.”
“I intend to keep it. Good night honey.”
“Night love.”

    - Jess. - Y/N walked into the bedroom of her oldest son, finding him surrounded by a bunch of toys. She smiled, rolling her eyes at the amount of toys the three year old had. Between her family buying him every single new toy that came into the shelf and Sebastian being the weakest parent in the world, surrendering to his son whenever he pouted and asked for something at the shop. She normally used to joke that they would need a whole new house just for Jess’ toys and now with the new baby on the way she wondered if she would need to buy a storage unit just for her kids’ toys. Despite all of this, what has found fun was how her son took after her when it came to decisions, ever the indecisive one and right now he was trying to decide which one of his new toys he was gonna take to show his dad. - Jessie, baby, didn’t I tell you we need to hurry?
    - But mum, I don’t know what toy daddy will like more. - he waved his little toddler arms around the various toys scattered around the floor. She smiled and crotched to the floor, cuddling her son next to her.
   - Why don’t you take your Millenium Falcon Lego Set so you can build it with daddy?
    - But you said a small toy, mummy.
   - What about Lego Set and Hugsie? - Hugsie had been a gift from Sebastian to her once she got pregnant with her second baby as Y/N was a big Friends fan and when he found it in a shop during their daily walk, he couldn’t help it but give it to her. However, Jess had taken a liking to the plushie and Y/N being the softie she was gave it to her son.
Jess nodded, walking away from his mum to put the lego set on his little yellow ducky bag and to grab Hugsie. Job done, Y/N thought to herself, leaving her toddler’s room to go a grab her carry on. Being pregnant with the second baby was surely easier, not only was the baby calmer but the bump was significantly smaller than Jess’ was, which meant she did not wobble as much. Jess came running into the living room, suitcase bouncing side to side and Hugsie on one side.
   - Let’s go see daddy. - Jess opened the door of the penthouse, walking with a purpose, something he clearly had gotten from his dad. Flying with a toddler was something Y/N had gotten used to, between travelling due to work reasons, to see her family or to visit Sebastian whenever he was on tour, Jess liked flying more than playing. Going through the airport checks while pregnant was somewhat traumatising however. In less than three hours they were walking into the Las Vegas hotel where she had first kissed Sebastian. Jess ran in front of her, pushing the doors of the hotel suit open before screaming Mary’s name. Y/N rushed over to see if he was alright only to see him hugging his godmother. - Look mummy, it’s Mary.
   - God, almost gave me a heart attack. - Y/N dropped her bag by the side, smiling at her friend.
   - Look at that. - Mary pointed at her bump. - Baby 2 is making its presence known.
   - It’s almost like blowing up a ballon, just appeared in this last month. - Y/N thought she was the luckiest woman alive when she reached 30 weeks and little to no pregnancy symptoms and then out of the sudden she got a bump. It was still better than her pregnancy with Jess but it still left her with no room to sleep at night. - Is Sebastian here?
   - Him and the boys went out for a meal, should be here in a bit.
   - Think you can look over Jess for a while? I really need to sleep before baby decides to kick again. - all she wanted was to sleep but with the baby constantly kicking , Jess being a three year old, and the bump being uncomfortable all she did was stay awake. Mary nodded, grabbing Jess’ hand before he could go around and break everything he found in sight. Y/N took that as a yes and made a bee-line to the bedroom with the really nice mattress and really soft sheets.
Sebastian came back from lunch wanting nothing but to go back home. He always thought that he’d be the cool dad once he became one but he was more of a softie always wanting his kids sort of dad. It only took a woman to walk in with a baby while he was having lunch that made him immediately miss his wife and Jess. He walked into his hotel room to be greeted by a slippery toddler hugging his legs. He looked down to see Jess in his swimming costume, holding his legs while Mary followed soon behind.
   - Y/N said no running when you’re wet. - Mary did not like to play the bad cop so whenever she made a rule with Jess, she always added Y/N or Sebastian had made them. Sebastian rolled his eyes, crutching down to pick his son up making him giggle. - That’s your slippery problem now.
   - Daddy, daddy, me and mummy brought Legos. - he pointed at his little ducky bag on the floor. - We brought Hugsie too but he’s sleeping with mummy.
   - Have you been a good boy to mummy and the baby? - Sebastian had told Jess before he left that it was his task to take care of his mum and sibling, something he was extremely proud of. Y/N had even sent him a picture of Jess trying to hoover the carpet.
  - Yes, daddy. - he cuddled against his father’s neck. - Let’s build the Legos, please, please!
Sebastian nodded his head yes, putting his son of the ground who went to grab the Lego box, sitting in the middle of the living room. If someone had told him before that he would be a very proud dad of a beautiful boy, a baby to go and a husband to one of the most beautiful and smart women, he would never believe it. He went over to start building the Lego’s along with his son, laughing at just like Y/N he would get frustrated when the pieces didn’t fit and pout, sometimes even throwing them against the wall ... that he had gotten from him.
Y/N woke up with the baby kicking again, she groaned and rolled to the side, lifting her torso before getting off the bed to go check on Jess. He normally used to come and cuddle next to her and since he wasn’t in bed, she had started to worry. She walked out of her room and into the living room stopping at the entrance to look at what he thought was the sweetest thing she had ever seen. Her husband lying against the coach, Jess on top of him, both sleeping surrounded by a half done Millenium Falcon. Y/N walked over to her husband, pushing the hair away from his forehead and placing a kiss there. He shook in his sleep, opening his eyes to come to sight with his wife.
  - I’m sorry baby, I didn’t mean to wake you up. - she sat next to him, pushing some legos to the side. - You two just looked very cute.
  - I missed you. - he leaned his head down to place a sweet kiss on her lips, his eyes going down to her bump. - Wow, where did that come from?
  - I think it’s your daughter. - she smirked, looking at the surprised look in his face. - I know we were supposed to wait like Jess but I just couldn’t wait and I had my guesses and I wanted to prove myself right.
  - God, we have one of each. - he placed his palm over her bump. - And I get to pick the name.
  - Oh no. - she giggled, looking at her bump. - I’m sorry baby girl, your name is probably gonna be Jewel or Crystal.
  - No, it’s gonna be Marion just like I told you. - he leaned slowly as to not to wake up his son so he could kiss her bump. - You really think we can do two kids and not entirely mess them up?
  - Well, I think that one is turning up just fine. - she pointed to Jess. - And this little one will turn out just fine. We make a great team.
  - You do realise no one is ever gonna be good enough for our little girl, don’t you?
  - Hey, when I said that about Jess you called me mamma bear.
  - I guess I’m papa bear now.
  - Yeah, we’re a bunch of old softies. - she cuddled against Sebastian’s side, hand going to rest on top of her son’s back. - We’re gonna be fine, Seb.
  - Yeah, we will.

Digimon Adventure: Ep 19!
Wow! That certainly was an Episode!! It was pretty fun from start to finish, though nothing mind-blowing, but it was definitely the ending that made me gasp. Not wholly unexpected to an old turnip like me, but promising lots of fun (and angst!).
Picture of the week: MIKO, THE TRUE STAR OF THE SERIES!!
Tumblr media
no for serious are the writers reading my reviews? they keep giving me what I want. within reason I guess. They seem to have an extremely limited budget as usual x’D
but Miko is still adorbs
ok I’m really looking forward to recapping this one so let’s get to it!
So last week I thought the kids sans Taichi and Yamato were abducted by Devimon, but apparently that either isn’t the case, or it was, but then Devimon decided it’s best just to dump the kids back on Earth and hold on to their partners. Because that’s the current situation. While concerning that the kids are separated from their partners, it’s probably best this way, since Devimon appears to be sending Gesomon(?) and Parrotmon(?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the human world, if I remember right. It’s hard to remember what happened in the first fifteen seconds kay So when the kids find their partners it will probably be in the human world and they can fight back.
Meanwhile Taichi and Yamato are alone and very Confuse
Tumblr media
Taichi tries frantically to contact Koushirou. The others too... but especially Koushirou.
Tumblr media
Finally he gets him!! He’s so happy!! My Taishiro heart flutters!
Tumblr media
But I was fully expecting it to be a trap. When I saw this still here, my first thought was “Devimon’s forcing him to tell Taichi a lie by threatening him with a gun!!”
of course thats not whats happening. Koushirou is relatively fine and there are no guns (yet). What’s happened is the other kids have been sent back to the human world for reals this time!
Tumblr media
This show is not even bothering to hide its Taiyama angle.
Tumblr media
They spend the entire episode giving each other Significant Looks like this. The entire episode.
Now where’s Jou through all of this, you ask?
Tumblr media
He went to talk to the police. He’s shocked they don’t believe his story about monster attacks and the world ending (well, at least Tokyo ending). I freaking love how taaaaall Jou is. Though it makes Koushirou look like a bean x’D
Jou = beansprout / Koushirou = bean
Koushirou has a much easier time dealing with the news that the police don’t believe them. He’s a denizen of the Internet. He knows how people’s minds work. And he has tons of chat logs to prove it.
Tumblr media
People are chatting and spreading gossip and disbelief and complaints, but my favorite is the comment that just says “It’s a flood of fake news” xP
The home team runs into Mama Yagami! Who Sora literally calls Mama Yagami! x’D I mean I know that’s how kids generally refer to their friends’ parents but I still lol’d.
Tumblr media
So un... Jou is almost as tall as Mama Yagami. LMAO. I’m gonna assume she’s short. Jou might indeed be quite tall for his age but Sora and Mimi are pretty close to Mama Yagami’s height too. I guess we haven’t seen Taichi standing next to his mom yet! With his hair he’s probably taller than her.
Tumblr media
So Mama Yagami is HILARIOUS and I’m so glad that’s a continuing thing in the reboot! She was already that way in 99 Adventure, but we’re just seeing a lot of it now - like every time she’s around. (And we didn’t see it in Tri so I missed that.) Basically she seems like a basketcase. Not a totally irresponsible one, more like just... generally the carefree go with the flow type. Which is not bad. She just also seems a bit, uh, ditzy?? I think Taichi probably grew to be so serious by necessity. Dad’s busy with work and someone’s gotta make sure mom doesn’t leave the house without her keys!
The way Sora just stares at Hikari like “explain??” after Mama Yagami thrusts Miko at her and runs off to get her car with a big smile as if they hadn’t all nearly died recently... bahahaha.
also I love how she doesn’t even bother asking her son’s good friend if she knows where he is after not seeing or hearing from him for three full days
Tumblr media
^The face of a boy shouldering the weight of nuclear family life and all its batshitness
Tumblr media
Taichi and Yamato determine their priority is find the Holy Digimon. I wish they were a little more concerned with what happened to their friends’ partners, but I guess this is the only goal with solid clues. Anyway before they can do anything they are attacked by Bulbmon Looks like subtitlers went with Valvemon which also works, who looks like a Lego monster creation by an eight year old (and probably is).
Tumblr media
He has the Domo face. Grrraaah
Tumblr media
Domo is NHK mascot by the way. bahahaha
Tumblr media
Next these guys come swarming out of Valvemon. (And if we didn’t already get it, apparently Digimon can construct other Digimon as we’ve seen before.) Nothing is quite as freaky as gas masks. They are commanded by Minotaurmon/Mintaromon whatever.
Tumblr media
They too have the aim of Stormtroopers though so our heroes will be fine...
Tumblr media
... probably...
Tumblr media
... then Leomon finally shows up!! Yay! He looks good! All beefy and scarred and sounding exactly like Zaraki Kenpachi. Uhh. Is it the same VA?? Nothing comes up in the Google search so maybe not but it sure sounds like him. (Minotaurmon and Ogremon also sound like Leomon... while it’s normal for VAs in kids shows to voice multiple characters esp minor ones, it literally sounds like Zaraki Kenpachi is the voice of all the characters in this episode besides the main ones. And Mama Yagami of course because that would be weird.)
Leomon may look cool, but his ride... and his friends... uh, less cool x’D I want to strangle that ostrich thing with its own scarf somehow it inspires violent emotion in me
Tumblr media
In the smallest, most shocked voice, Yamato says, “Leomon...?” It’s honestly kind of adorable. He’s clearly remembering what Neemon said about Leomon leading the resistance way back when.
Tumblr media
Leomon helps them escape. Taichi very considerately and cutely helps Agumon aboard the fashion disaster ostrich emu thing.
Tumblr media
Yamato also considerately helps his partner but rather less cutely xD
Tumblr media
Leomon takes them to his hideout and gives them your standard fare of weird-looking Digi fruit. He then proceeds to tell them about Devimon and that he is trying to infiltrate Valvemon yadda yadda.
Tumblr media
Taichi is freaking ADORABLE, immediately concerned that by saving their asses, Leomon’s battle plans have been ruined. Leomon waves that aside though. Yamato is equally adorabibble when he asks after Neemon and gets told that they made it to Leomon safely.
Tumblr media
Leomon plans to try to get into Valvemon again because he knows Devimon’s put something related to the holy Digimon in there. Taichi is determined to join in. He doesn’t have much of an argument as it why they should be allowed when they just got their butts kicked so easily, but he has a trick up his sleeve: the Burning Eyes of Fiery Passion.
Tumblr media
Not to be outdone, Yamato shoots off his Icy Eyes of Cold Determination.
Faced with this twin assault, Leomon has to give in. Ahh, I remember last week when we saw the trailer for this ep and I naively thought Leomon would train them like Piximon did in 99 Adventure. Nope. They’ve just met and they’re already spy buddies.
Okay, okay, yeah Leomon does seem to have some knowledge of the “Chosen Children” and that’s his real motivation. Still.
Tumblr media
They break into Valvemon and we get the excellent invention of Agumon riding on Garurumon. I assume because of Garurumon’s advantageous speed. That seems to be recurring thing in this show.
Tumblr media
Idk I just capped this because he’s so darn cute
Tumblr media
I don’t know why I capped this one though.
Tumblr media
They enter some sort of central space where Leomon tells them something relevant to the holy Digimon is being kept. (Lol I already forgot the details of what he said.) There are two protectors, Minotaurmon and Bullmon. Leomon tells the kids to take Bullmon while he faces down Minotaurmon. These guys might have been somewhat intimidating if we hadn’t already got Perfect level evolutions mastered, not to mention the occasional Jogress :P Sooo I didn’t feel too worried.
Tumblr media
... uh, never mind x’D Taichi what are you doing
Tumblr media
Yamato saves his idiot butt and almost gets in a bind himself. Once again I’m just wondering why they are sticking at Adult level. Whatever. They win of course
Tumblr media
Leomon uses his Fist of the Beast King to maim Minotaurmon. His brilliant one-liner? “I have more than one first.”
Bully: *punches you*
You: ow
Bully: *smirk* I have more than one fist.
You: That’s funny, I only have one, but it’s made of titanium *You punch the bully straight through the stratosphere* Quality over quantity!!!!
*cough*
Tumblr media
Our heroes approach the secret compartment supposedly holding something to do with the holy Digimon... Yamato gets a look inside and gets the black shadow of true terror over his eyes
Tumblr media
becaue floating inside like some kind of Weapon X experiment is... Takeru!!!
Tumblr media
Hold on while I put in my ear plugs. Okay, ready, screech all you want now.
Tumblr media
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
So... okay. First of all, baby Takeru is sooooooo cute <3 I had two predictions about what happened to Takeru last week. Either he ended up in the digital world and was now on his own, or he got abducted by Devimon. I thought the former was more likely, but in hindsight, it should have been obvious that it was the second. This show misses a lot of points where I feel like they could have developed some relationships or thrown in some drama, but it never passes up a chance for Yamato angst.
So yeah, this is pretty much gonna destroy Yamato xD Not only is the baby brother he wanted to protect no longer at home where he can easily protect him, he’s now in the digital world and in the enemy’s clutches.
I BETTER SEE REALLY TRAUMATIZED YAMATO NEXT WEEK. Of course, I expect him to be cool-headed enough to try to save Takeru, but I will be very disappoint if this goes off with no break downs at all. Takeru is always Yamato’s number one priority!
Super exciteddddd
So I give this ep 7.5/10. The .5 is pretty much for ending with a killer cliffhanger. My one real complaint about this ep is how highly plot-based everything is - we finally got the team all together only to split them up, and on top of that, once split up, we don’t even get all that many character moments between Taichi and Yamato. As I said, they give each other lots of Signifcant Looks, but man cannot live on bread alone. However this is par for the course for this show and I know I should stop mentioning it every week because I doubt it’s changing. We will get the big shockers when we get them and not a moment before.
I just want Yamato to cry in front of Taichi and make him all uncomfortable x’D That’s what made 99 Adventure so great bahahaha
Some cool bits from next week’s trailer:
Tumblr media
Surprise surprise, Angemon is the holy Digimon! Or one of, anyway. And he is indeed trapped. This makes the “Angemon is Devimon” theory less likely. Let’s not forget that our heroes’ Digimon partners were evidently a band of powerful warriors in the past, but they’ve forgotten much of it. I won’t be surprised if the result of that war played a part in Angemon’s abduction.
Tumblr media
Next week they’ll have to fight to save Takeru from being drained, I guess.
Tumblr media
And then!! Digi egg! Excite. Also I only just noticed that his hate says TK!!!
Takeruuu <3 My first fav when I was 10. Though my heart has belonged to Taichi for many long years, I still have a special spot in it for Takeru only <3 Even if he does dress like a celery stick

“Course she can, I'll call Jen”
“It's ok she can message…”
“I'll call her.” Katie said firmly, “Brooke was there today so Jen has a right to know what happened. Don’t worry, she won’t be mad at you.” “Kay…” Emmy nodded “What's for dinner?”
“Your dad threw a pizza in for Jamie, we're gonna get take out and hang by the pool.” Katie said.
“Anything you fancy?” Steve asked.
“Can we try the Greek place?”
“Sure.” Steve nodded “Hey, do they do Shwarma?”
“Gyros.” Katie said, “Same thing almost.”
“I’m in.” Steve said.
“I'm gonna go watch TV for a bit, that ok?”
“Steve...” she stated, instantly understanding what he was implying “You can’t.” “Why not?”
“Well, for starters we have no idea where he lives.”
Steve snorted "Sweetheart, you're forgetting who we know."
"Oh, no...you can't drag Sam into this." Katie shook her head "Ross is being an asshole with him as it is without you giving him ammo by getting Sammy into trouble."
"I'm not" Steve smiled, raising his eyebrow “I'm gonna drag Bucky into it instead."
Steve snorted “Nah, she won’t be mad...she knew full well I was planning on giving him a warning so…”
“Then why not just tell her?” “Because she’d worry.” Steve said simply.
"Fuck." he groaned, both hands now on her hips as he continued his movements and Katie’s hands moved to brace herself against the headboard, her body moving with every slam he made into her.
He looked down at his sleeping wife before he shifted slightly, dropping a kiss to her head before he closed his eyes and fell into a trouble free sleep.

on the other side of this door
Tony always laments how slowly people evacuate the compound when they’ve got drills, as bad as it is in elementary schools when all the kindergarteners kick and scream because you’re pulling them away from their Legos and art work. This isn’t exactly a drill—it’s a threat, and a threat they’re taking seriously by evacuating. But he doesn’t want to scare people, doesn’t wanna panic them, so he doesn’t start screaming over the intercoms just yet.
They’re searching for some pathogen, or some kind of poison. Something that’s supposedly gonna start feeding itself through the vents within the next ten minutes. They found out through a weird message on the Stark personal server.
Tony stares at the cameras on his phone, watches everyone leaving leisurely, which doesn’t do wonders for his anxiety.
“Rhodey, how are we doing?” Tony asks, into the com in his ear. “Why’s everyone walking out of here like they’re in line for A Small World? Jesus.”
“Happy’s on door duty, I don’t know,” Rhodey says.
“You find anything yet?” Tony asks, walking up the stairs to the third level. “You think this is just bullshit?”
“Probably,” Rhodey says. “Fifth threat this month, feel like we should be done with all this after saving the world, but we brought back all the baddies, too.”
Tony shakes his head, clicking his tongue. He’s just glad Pepper and Morgan aren’t here right now, but Peter is, and that’s itching under Tony’s skin. The kid ran off as soon as they all started their searching, and not having him within eyesight during something like this is like sitting on the surface of the sun.
“Tony,” Peter’s voice says, over the coms.
Tony’s heart jolts. “Speak of the—think of the devil, more like—hey kid, meet up with me, I don’t like you running around here alone during all this.”
“I, uh—I’m on the third floor, in the red lab, uh, the back storage room. Back right corner.”
Tony narrows his eyes, and picks up the pace. “Alright, you okay? You find something?”
“Uh. It’s worse than we think,” he says, and Tony can hear his voice shaking.
Tony starts running. “Why?” he asks, his heart slamming against his chest. “What’s wrong? What’s going on?”
“Whoever this was, he took over your system. Like—like a virus. I was able to get in through a backdoor, but it took a lot—a lot of messing around.”
Tony turns the corner, speeds up when he catches sight of the red lab. “Are you okay?” he asks, enunciating every word. “Did something happen to you?” He slams through the lab door, and the lights don’t even come on when he stumbles into the room. He looks around, and sees Peter in the corner through the glass door.
“Off coms,” Tony says, striding over. “Kid—”
“Stop!” Peter yells, a little muffled through the door. “Stop, stop!”
“What the hell is going on?” Tony asks, breathing hard through his mouth, stopping right in front of him. “Did you get hurt, did something happen, did you find something, what—”
“Off coms—I was able to find a backdoor through the virus,” Peter says, and when Tony really looks at him, he can see the redness around his eyes. “But it was...able to track me. My location, where I was working from. It...it started to feed the poison through this room, Tony, but I was able—”
“Which room?” Tony asks, too loud. “Which room, where?”
“This room,” Peter says, wringing his hands together. “The—the room I’m in.”
 Tony sways on the spot.
“Just the storage room, though, not the lab. But Tony, I was able to—”
Peter’s voice drains out and gives way to a high pitched noise, the kind that usually finds Tony when he’s close to absolutely losing it. He glances up at the grate in the storage room, and his heart sinks when he sees the white cloud slowly coming through. This room. The room Peter’s in. It’s filling with poison. He’s being poisoned.
“I’m opening the door,” Tony says.
“No!” Peter says. He swallows hard, blinking slowly. “It’s locked, anyway, didn’t you hear me?”
“No, I didn’t hear you,” Tony says, trying to swallow his emotion and think clearly through this fog. “I’ve gotta get you out of there.”
“Tony, you can’t,” Peter says, lower lip trembling. He doesn’t look good. “I just—I just said that, I was able to keep working and override the trip to feed out through the rest of the compound, I stopped it, it’ll just—it’ll just feed into this room, no—nowhere else. That’s why you can’t—you can’t open the door, you’ll—you’ll let it out.”
Nothing feels real, they were just having lunch a fucking hour ago, the kid was laughing about the way Sam tripped and fell in the kitchen, and now this is fucking happening, a nightmare, an impossibility, the universe stepping in once again and trying to take his kid away from him.
“No, Pete,” Tony says, stepping towards the door. “No, you can’t stay in there. Not allowed, sorry. Come out. We’ll fix this.”
“There’s no fixing it if we open the door,” Peter says, and he looks like he’s gonna hit the glass before he thinks better of it, knowing he could break it easily. He runs his hand over his face, and he takes one uncertain step before he drops to the ground.
“Fuck, fuck,” Tony blurts out, sinking down along with him, his heart much too loud in his ears. “Kid, I—I can’t—” I can’t watch this. I can’t lose you. Not again. “Coms,” he says again. “Rhodey.”
 “What’s wrong? Where’d you go?”
“Get everyone the fuck out, now,” Tony says, watching as Peter sways, leaning against a set of shelves. “Now, instant. Ring the emergency bells, red alert one.”
 “What? What happened—”
“Now,” Tony says, finding himself shaking as he watches the kid waste away. “Now. In one minute I’m letting the goddamn poison out into the compound. Get your suit, come back in and get me and the kid when I stop responding. Then seal it all off.”
“Tony, no,” Peter whispers, blinking at him, reaching out. “C’mon.”
 “What?” Rhodey asks.
“You heard me,” Tony says. “Alarms, now. Then do the rest.”
 “Jesus Christ, okay.”
Everything goes dark and black, red lights shining and the emergency horn blaring, over and over again.
“No,” Peter says, but he’s fading, and fading fast. “No, please, c’mon, you’re—one minute isn’t enough, and—soon as it hits the air, it’s—it’s gonna kill you.”
“Don’t care,” Tony says, cracking his jaw. “You’re not sacrificing yourself, no way, bud, no how. Sorry. Not after everything. You’re not getting away from me that easily.” He presses his hand to the glass, and Peter paws at it with his own.
“No,” he breathes. “No, you’re so—you’re so dumb.” He looks horribly pale, the skin around his eyes getting darker. The breaths he’s taking are ragged.
“You’re dumber, thinking I was just gonna stand here and watch you die,” Tony says, his heart aching. “Already did that once, Pete, didn’t like it. Not a fan.”
“You can’t do this,” Peter breathes, trying to push himself up and failing. “You—you have a kid.”
“I’ve got two kids and I’m not about to let this happen to one of ‘em,” Tony says. “Too stubborn for that. You already know. And I updated my will yesterday, you’re inheriting too much shit to just bail out on me now.”
 Peter’s eyes are falling shut.
“Hey!” Tony says, pounding on the glass. “Hey, wake up, Peter. Stay with me, stop it.”
“Love you,” Peter whispers, shaking his head. His hand falls away from the glass. “Tony. Dad.”
Tony lets out a sob, his eyes filling with tears, and he gets up, squeezing his eyes shut tight. “Rhodey,” he says, voice shaking.
 “Tony, I—”
Tony knows he heard. He doesn’t care. Nothing matters right now. “They’re all out, right?”
 “Looks like it, should be—”
Tony slams his shoulder into the glass. It doesn’t budge, and he does it again, harder, pain blooming all up and down his side. He does it again, over and over again, and feels the glass splintering. He looks down at Peter, lying still, and Tony lets out a yell that feels feral, from deep inside him. No way, no way. Not again. Not him. He slams into the glass, once, twice, three more times before it shatters.
He can feel the tainted air as soon as it hits him, and he tries to carry on as long as he can. He kicks out the glass, away from where Peter is, and he reaches in, grabbing him, pulling him into his arms. The poison hangs and flows out in a wave, and Tony tries not to breathe, cradling Peter close. The kid is gigantic now and it’s hard to hold him, but something is pushing Tony forward—pure adrenaline, moving him away from the broken storage room and towards the main door.
He doesn’t have much of a plan, and the poison is hitting him faster because he’s just a man, not an enhanced, like the kid. Peter’s head lolls around on Tony’s shoulder, and Tony slows down once he’s out in the laboratory, every step like sludge. His vision glitches. He thinks about Pepper, Morgan, the people he loves. The kid in his arms that might already be gone.
“Rhodey,” Tony gasps, stumbling out into the hallway. “Rhodes, Rhodey—”
 “Should I come?”
Tony is moving through darkness. The red is eating him. He falls, and makes sure not to fall on top of Peter.
“Tony,” Rhodey’s voice says, very far away. “Tony.”
Slow motion. Eggshells. Tony gathers Peter up and holds him close.
 Then there’s nothing else.
 ~
“Yeah, he did. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was close. Yeah. We took them off oxygen yesterday, they’re breathing on their own now. Thanks a lot, Strange, always just a couple minutes late—sure, sure. Alright. Yeah, I’ll tell him you called. We’re getting lots of calls. Yeah, you’re late on that too. Sure. Oh no, don’t feel bad. You’re busy, huh? Right?”
 Rhodey’s voice.
“It’ll be sealed off for—hey, lemme call you back.”
Tony squeezes his eyes shut tighter than they were before. There’s gotta be...a piano on top of him or something. Does he have both arms? Both legs? Holy shit.
“You are fucking lucky you’re alive, Tones,” Rhodey says. “Jesus Christ.”
 Tony groans.
“Yeah, don’t blame you, lunatic. Both of you are lunatics. Self-sacrificing—I can’t, truly. I feel bad for Pepper, Peter’s girl, May, my own damn self, and Happy—Happy nearly had a heart attack. It’s always gotta be drama. Always. Tony Stark brand, and you passed it right on to Peter Parker. Nice.”
“How is he?” Tony rasps. Peter was dead. He was really dead. Tony’s heart constricts just thinking about it.
 “Open your eyes,” Rhodey says.
Tony does, slowly, horrified at the brightness. He sees Rhodey, sitting at the edge of his bed. And then there’s Peter, in the next bed over. His face is still slack, but he’s...he’s breathing.
“You just missed Pepper,” Rhodey says. “She’s taking a shower. You two have been out of it for four days. It was touch and go for the first couple hours, I’m gonna be real, but we managed to pull it out after going deep into the archives, Helen whipping up some back alley antidote nobody could have imagined. Flushing it out of your systems was really hard. We’re in a remote facility in Albany. Compound needed some flushing, too. Looks like a scene from ET over there, probably take another couple of days to get it back to normal.”
Tony stares over at the kid. “Peter’s okay,” he whispers.
“He woke up earlier for about ten minutes,” Rhodey says. “Got to say hi to May. She yelled at him pretty good, but like, quietly? You don’t know how much trouble you’ll be in, Peter, as soon as you’re back on your feet. She said it while kissing his forehead over and over. Very sweet. She’s got Morgan right now, they’re having lunch in the cafeteria.”
Tony nods, closing his eyes again. “Sorry for the drama,” he says. “Felt like it was—you know, getting a little stale.”
“Uh huh, uh huh,” Rhodey says, looking at him fondly.
“We’re not radioactive, right?” Tony asks, not knowing why. Feels like something the kid might wanna know.
“No, thankfully, but it was on the list of things to potentially worry about,” Rhodey says. “For real. We’re still trying to find the asshole that did this. He was a smart one, one we’re gonna have to worry about. A lot of people could have died if it wasn’t for Peter. Nobody was hurt but the two of you. He saved everybody.”
Tony smiles to himself. “Of course he did.”
“Yeah, big hero. Now we gotta make sure none of them were the ones that did it.” Rhodey reaches out and pats Tony on the cheek. “I’m gonna go get May and Morgan. And slip a note under the bathroom door for Pep.”
“Okay,” Tony whispers, looking at him again. “Hey, push Pete’s bed—a little closer to mine, huh? Just while you’re gone.”
Rhodey snorts. “Fine,” he says. He gets up, walks around, and very carefully wheels Peter’s bed closer. Then he heads out the door.
Tony reaches out, grabs Peter’s hand that’s hanging off the side of the bed. “Hey,” he says. “I know—you’re awake. I know your sleeping face by now and this—isn’t it.” He coughs a little bit, shaking his head.
Peter pops one eye open, smiles slightly. “You’re so dumb. I’m—I’m mad at you.”
Tony scoffs, squeezing Peter’s hand. “Please. I could say—the same exact thing.” Talking still isn’t really easy, and he sighs, trying to breathe.
Peter shakes his head. “Thank you for—for saving me.”
“Thanks for saving—everybody else,” Tony says. They both lay there for a couple long moments, and Tony doesn’t let go of the kid’s hand. “You know, you—called me Dad. Just letting you know. It happened. I remember—it happened.”
“Nope,” Peter says. “You’re making that up.”
“Sorry, short stuff,” Tony says, squeezing his hand again, rubbing his thumb back and forth over Peter’s own. “Dear old dad heard it.”
 “I wish I’d died.”
“Shut up,” Tony snorts, tugging on Peter’s hand a little bit. There’s another easy silence, and Tony doesn’t think about the weirdo that did this, who they’re gonna have to focus on as soon as they can focus on anything. He doesn’t think about that. He thinks about the fact that they made it. Again. By the skin of their teeth.
 “Love you, kid,” he says.
“Love you too,” Peter says. And then, after a moment. “Dad.”

So, technically this does include stuff with Shay in human school. Mostly though it’s Del&Shay... yeah. Also, as always, this got longer than intended. Uhh, warning for mild homo/transphobia.
Del knows fear. It’s not that there was anything in his life to cause that fear. It’s just that for as long as he can remember, there’s been a sense of wrongness in his life that he couldn’t identify. And without a source for that feeling, something to point to and say “That. That’s what’s wrong. That’s what scares me.” he’d just become afraid of everything.
Fight or flight, people say. That’s how humans respond to fear. Instinct. Even at six, when his dad says that instinct is broken in Del, Del thinks that’s dumb. People react to fear in all kinds of ways, and there are all kinds of fear that they react to differently. It’s not an either or.
We fear things because we don’t understand them, Del’s mum says. Like sharks. Or wolves. We see sharp teeth and we think “danger” because we don’t understand that the creature behind those teeth doesn’t mean us any harm. Fear is a misunderstanding. Del spends a lot of his childhood trying to understand everything, so maybe he can stop being scared. But understanding that the water isn’t trying to hurt you doesn’t make anyone less afraid of drowning.
It’s his cousin, Nel (short for Nelson, but Del always liked that, Del and Nel), eighteen and rebellious, that ends up helping the most. He takes Del out to the cinema and they meet his boyfriend there. Del likes Gavin, but his aunt and uncle don’t- something about “bad influences”- so they can only meet up other places. It’s after the film, as they’re walking out, that a couple guys seem to have an issue with how Nel and his boyfriend are holding hands. They say things Del knows are supposed to be mean, but Nel doesn’t get mad or scared. There’s no fight or flight. He just sighs and asks Gavin in a quiet voice to get the manager.
While he’s gone, Nel says nothing. Not until one starts getting in his face, yelling at him to say something. Then Nel sticks the hand that isn’t holding Del’s in his pocket and leans back almost casually.
“You hungry?” he asks. The guy just… stops.
“What?”
“We were planning to get something to eat. You can join us if you want.”
He doesn’t want, but he and his friends walk away without a fuss when the manager comes.
Later, Del asks in awe how Nel did it. Wasn’t he scared? How was he so brave? Nel laughs, but it isn’t a happy laugh.
“It’s not ‘bout ‘brave,’” he says. “It’s about compliance.” Del doesn’t know what that means. “Fear’s a really messed up sort of power when it’s done on purpose. And it’s just a bad warning sign when it’s not. Lashing out won’t help no one, and running away’s not gonna work forever. So instead you gotta be contrary. Figure out what that fear wants you to do, and then don’t.
“Those dicks wanted me to fight, so they could keep thinking I’m wrong; the enemy. So I offered to be friends. Ma, pops, they’re afraid of Gavin. They’re afraid he’s gonna get me in trouble ‘cause he doesn’t understand that I can’t get away with the same things he can. I can’t buy my way out of my mistakes. They make this a real unfriendly place to be ‘cause they want him to be as scared as they are. But running away won’t help, no matter how much their fear wants him to. We’re still gonna love each other. So instead of running away and breaking my heart, he stays and takes care of me. He learns the world how I see it, so instead of pulling me into fear by accident, he can protect me from it on purpose.
“Look, cuz, there’s a lot in this world to be scared of. You just gotta figure out what’s behind it and get good at arguing. Fear says ‘there’s something hiding in the dark,’ you say ‘then why can’t I hear it?’ It says ‘you’re running out of air,’ you say ‘if light can get in, so can air.’ It says ‘they’re going to attack you,’ you say ‘not if I distract them first.’ It says ‘you can’t do it,’ you say ‘watch me.’
“But most important, and I need you to listen to me here, kay? You listening?” Del nods with all the gravity an eight-year-old can muster. “You remember nothing else, you remember this: Fear tells you ‘you should be ashamed of what you are,’ you say ‘I should only be ashamed of what I do.’ If you not hurting nobody, you got nothing to be ashamed of.”
It doesn’t always work, of course. When Fear says ‘you’re going to get hurt,’ you can’t just say ‘no, I won’t.’ You have to ask ‘will it be worth it?’ But it helps.
So when Del is eleven and a new kid comes to school, Fear yells ‘Danger.’ and Del looks at the distance everyone has put between them and this serious-looking kid with eyes like storm clouds, and at the extra sweets his mum had packed, and he thinks back ‘Yeah, but dangerous to who?’
-
It’s not always easy being Shay’s friend. It’s pretty hard sometimes actually. And there’s a fear that Del recognizes from his aunt and uncle. He’s afraid that one of these days, he’s going to get in trouble because Shay doesn’t understand that they’re different.
Shay is… Shay is a wildfire. A whirlwind. Shay is something that sweeps you up with a force beyond your comprehension, and if you’re not careful, you’re going to break or burn before it passes.
Del had thought them serious at first, and they are sometimes, but he wouldn’t describe them that way. Passionate, maybe. Restless, definitely. Impulsive, unfortunately. Terrifying, yes. But serious, no. And wrong, never. All Del’s life, something has been wrong, and he fears both what it is and that he’ll never figure it out, but he thinks ‘I’ve lived just fine so far without knowing, and at least it’s not Shay.’
Even when Shay gets stressed over History class and their teacher’s house floods. Even when bullies repeatedly trip and break their noses. Even when Mrs. Patrick sends Shay to the headmaster with mutters about expulsion and a strong wind sends a rock hurtling through her window. When they break up with Lisa and it storms for a week. When Chris calls their parents freaks and the ground shakes. When they’re in one of their moods and a teacher snatches their fidget tool from their hands, only to drop it with a cry of pain as the smell of burnt flesh fills the room. Through it all, Del knows that whatever is wrong in their life, it isn’t Shay.
That doesn’t make it easier when Shay is annoyed and he feels like he stepped on a Lego every time he tries to talk to them about it. Or when they’re excited and the wind near them is so strong it’s hard to breathe. Or when they’re upset and Del has to walk all the way to the Blackwood Institute in 40C heat because a series of accidents have slowed transit. Or when they take up freerunning and they laugh at Del’s worry every time they take a fall that would send anyone else to A&E. Or when Shay realizes how these things affect Del and they get that stricken look and avoid him for a week.
It doesn’t make it easier when Shay acknowledges none of this.
They never lie about it- Shay’s a terrible liar- but they talk around it or laugh it off. And it’s the only time Del ever sees anything like fear in their eyes, so he doesn’t push it.
‘You’re going to get hurt,’ Fear says, time and time again.
With Shay holding his hand as he tells his family he’s gay. With Shay threatening to burn down the stage if he doesn’t get the part. With Shay staying up late to tutor him in math. With Shay offering to unleash their parents on the teacher who calls him stupid. With Shay backstage, very carefully learning how to apply make-up because Del’s hands are shaking too hard from nerves. With Shay laughing and laughing as he cringes over their puns. With Shay always, always stepping in between him and the dark. Del replies, ‘Yeah, but it’s worth it.’
-
Shay had sworn they’d be there opening night of Del’s first lead performance. They were going out of town for a while, but they’d sworn they’d be back for it. The wrongness has been getting worse and worse, and the only time it seems to get better is when Del’s on stage, but that doesn’t matter if it’s just replaced by the wrongness of Shay not being there. They’re supposed to talk tonight. High on Del’s success, they’re supposed to talk and Shay is supposed to help figure this out and then maybe, hopefully, they’ll talk about their thing too. But they can’t do that if Shay isn’t there.
They aren’t there before the play. They aren’t there after. They don’t respond to any messages. They don’t answer any calls. Over and over people come up with congratulations. With praise. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter because Shay isn’t there. The cast goes out for the afterparty, but they all give up on talking to Del quickly, and it doesn’t matter.
At 3AM, unable to sleep, Del resorts to messaging Shay’s dad, asking if they’re okay, breath held until lungs scream in an attempt to beat back the panic.
‘Something is wrong,’ Fear says. ‘So what?’ Del asks.
‘Shay is hurt/dead/wrong,’ Fear says. ‘Even if they are, they’ll recover,’ Del says back. ‘Shay always recovers.’
‘You’re going to get hurt,’ Fear says. ‘It’s worth it for Shay,’ Del snaps.
Mr. Blackwood messages back “They will be.” and “I promise they’ll call as soon as we get them back.” As if that isn’t utterly terrifying. It’s okay. It’s okay, that’s just how Shay’s dad is. They’ve always said he never realizes he’s being creepy until someone tells him.
‘There’s no air,’ Fear says. And Del’s eyes are hard to force open, but open they do. ‘If the light can get in, so can the air,’ Del replies.
Del messages Mr. Blackwood “When?”
“Soon,” he says.
“Can I wait with you?”
“Of course.”
Del doesn’t have to ask where. Shay’s dad is always at the Institute. The doors are locked, but someone is always there. It’s not the night guard but Mr. Blackwood’s cat that opens the door, though, somehow, and leads Del down to the archives.
‘You’re being watched,’ Fear says. ‘I really don’t care,’ Del replies.
The office door is open. Mr. Blackwood stands when Del walks in. He’s not big on touch, Del knows. Or eye contact. But he puts his hands on Del’s arms and looks in Del’s eyes when he says, “They’re going to be alright, Miss Jackson.” and doesn’t seem to mind when Del throws her arms around him and sobs into his shoulder, because something just turned right in the world and it doesn’t matter because Shay’s still missing.
“Jon?” someone asks from behind her. Martin. Del can’t bear to look up.
“We’re alright, Martin,” Jon says, rubbing a hand over Del’s back.
“Right… I’ll make us some tea.”
Martin gives better hugs than Jon, so it’s him Del is sitting with on the couch half an hour later, talking about her options and one of the Institute therapists who can help if she wants to think about transitioning, and it’s all a bit overwhelming honestly, but it’s a good distraction until the sound of a door creaking open has them all falling silent. There’s a door that shouldn’t be there. Sasha comes through first, inhuman hands depositing a man’s head on Jon’s desk. The rest of his body seems to be draped over Ms. Tonner’s shoulder. Her eyes flash in the light and her teeth seem a bit too sharp through her grimace. And Del really couldn’t give a shit about any of that, because there’s Shay, smiling an exhausted smile, and it’s actually kind of nice how warm they are when she hugs them, even if it would worry Del on anyone else.
“Oh shit,” they say after a second. “The play.”
“It’s fine,” Del assures them, wiping away her tears. “Wasn’t my best performance anyway.”
“Fuck that,” Shay says. “I bet you were perfect.”
“So,” Shay says later as Del lays in their bed beside them, struggling to keep her eyes open. “You’re a girl.”
“So,” Del says through a yawn, “you’re a monster.”
“Yeah, but you knew that even when you thought I was human.” They laugh as Del fails to blindly smack their arm. There’s a long moment of silence, and Del is almost asleep when they finally say, “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” she asks. “Being a monster? Or not telling me?”
“Both?”
“Hey.” Del waits until Shay finally looks over at her. “Never be ashamed of what you are. Only what you do.”
“Then I’m sorry for lying.”
Del laughs. “You never lied. You’re a terrible liar. I would’ve pulled it from you way before now if you’d lied.”
“Still.”
“Apology accepted. Now shut up and get some sleep.”
“You know I don’t actually need to sleep?”
Del forces her eyes open one last time, just so she can roll them. “Well I do, so you might as well get some anyway.”
“I love you.”
“Love you too, arsehole.”
‘You’re going to get hurt,’ Fear says. ‘Fuck off,’ Del replies.
-
Her parents don’t take it well. Being gay, they can understand. For some reason, being trans is harder. They try, she’ll give them that. They do try. It’s still uncomfortable being home, though. Instead, she spends more time with Shay, who doesn’t care. With Shay’s family, who just knew. At some point, even Ms. Tonner tells her, “You can call me Daisy, Del,” and they let her blame the hormones when she cries.
When Chris laughs at her, the floor below him mysteriously crumbles into a sinkhole. When she gets denied the first female role she auditions for, lightning hits the theater and the play has to be delayed for repairs.
“You really shouldn’t have done that,” she tells Shay.
“Freak accident,” they lie, terribly.
When the Dark reaches out for her, it touches Shay and burns. When the walls start closing in and she can’t breathe, Shay crumbles them and all Del feels is a breeze.
‘You’re going to get hurt,’ Fear says.
‘It’s worth it,’ Del replies. And when a terrified man starts raving at Shay as they’re trying to show him out of the Institute, Del doesn’t hesitate to get between them and shut him down with a harsh order to leave. He still doesn’t go of his own volition, but he’s taken back enough for the spider on his neck to get a solid hold.
Martin goes to all her plays. Jon helps her apply to uni. Sasha runs lines with her. Basira reads all her books to help her study. Daisy shows her how to pin someone twice her size. Shay grins.
It’s worth it.
But the summer after they graduate, Shay meets Willa.
Del won’t deny being a bit jealous, but that isn’t why she doesn’t like Willa. It’s because Willa would never tell Shay “You shouldn’t have done that,” even if she was secretly pleased. Willa would never step between Shay and an angry man to keep Shay from doing something they’d regret. Willa wouldn’t do anything she could to pull Shay back when they got too close to the edge. Willa is fuel to the fire, and the problem isn’t even that.
The problem is, she makes Shay forget they don’t like fire, and they love her for it.
“I’m worried,” Del says. “I’m afraid. Shay, you’re going to get hurt.”
“No, I won’t,” Shay says. But that’s wrong. That’s not how you respond to the fear of pain. They smile at her, and it hurts. It hurts. “You’re wrong about her. It’s going to be fine.”
But it isn’t.
‘You’re going to get hurt,’ Fear says. ‘It’s worth it,’ Del replies. Will always reply. It’s worth it for Shay. Now and forever.
But.
‘They’re going to destroy themself,’ Fear says. ‘And there will be nothing you can do but watch.’
And that. That’s not. Nothing is worth that. But what else can she do? She can’t keep them safe from themself.
As long as Shay never told her they were a monster, they’d thought, then maybe to her they weren’t. They were wrong, of course. Shay isn’t a monster to her even now. Shay is her best friend, her family, and nothing less.
‘You can’t help them,’ Fear says, and Del says ‘I know.’
She goes to Jon before she leaves.
“I can’t stay,” she tells him. “I can’t watch them walk into this knowing there’s nothing I can do.”
“I understand,” he says, sad but honest. “We’ll still be here. You aren’t leaving them alone.” And she knows. That’s the only reason she can do this.
“Just… I don’t know what I’m going to do without them.” Jon’s still terrible at hugs, but he tries, and he still doesn’t care when she sobs into his shoulder. “They’re going to make it through this, right?”
“They will. I know this is hard, but we understand.”
“You can still call us, you know,” Daisy says from behind her. “We won’t say anything. You don’t have to be alone either.”
“Are you joking?” she laughs. “You’re all terrible liars.”
“Okay, call Martin, then.”
“No. No, I- I think I need to try, at least. And, you know, if sometimes it feels like I’m being watched… I won’t mind.”
“Good girl,” Daisy says, and makes Del lean down so she can kiss her forehead. “If you try to lose our numbers—”
“Martin will just add them back in, I know.”
“Good. Come on, think you still have some things at ours. You’re staying the night. We’ll take you to the station tomorrow.”
“You’re going to get hurt,” she tells Shay just before boarding the train that will take her to university. To the next chapter of her life. Without them. “I hope someday you can show up to one of my plays and tell me it’s worth it. But until then, I can’t bear to sit here and just let it happen. I love you. So much. But until you can say, with absolute certainty, that this is worth what you’ll lose… please don’t contact me.”
‘Well done,’ Fear says. ‘You got yourself hurt.’
‘If it makes them reconsider,’ Del replies, ‘just enough that they survive… then it’s worth it.’
‘You’ll never see them again,’ Fear says.
“Yes, I will,” Del states, because anything else is unthinkable. Yes, she will.

Old Enough to Know I'll End Up Dying (Not Young Enough to Forget Again)
A story inspired by a prompt from @bemybuddie who wanted Eddie getting hurt in the street fighting and being unconscious and then dreaming of a perfect life with Buck, and when he wakes up he tries to get to that place from the dream, because it was wonderful. Be warned, it’s gonna be long. Part 1 of 4.
For the first few moments it’s total euphoria, and he can see why people do this for a living. The sweat, the pull of muscles, the constant need to be on alert; it was exhilarating. And then something solid collided with his left temple and his world went black.
He came back to awareness with a bright light shining in his eyes and at least a dozen worried looking people standing over him, the closest aside from the man checking him over, was Lena. It took a moment for him to realize their lips were moving, and a moment longer after that to actual hear what they were saying.
“-ddie, you good?”
“Ugh, what hit me?”
“That would be my fist.” The man he’d been fighting at least looked apologetic, knowing it had been Eddie’s first fight and having promised to take it easy on him.
“Well, ow.” Eddie chuckled, moving to push himself off the ground.
“Woah now, you were just knocked out,” Lena rolled her eyes, pushing against Eddie’s chest lightly, “can you just sit for a second and let our doctor look you over?”
“What’s the verdict doc, am I gonna live?”
The doctor rolled his eyes but seemed pleased as he put his penlight away. “Looks like just a mild concussion. Get some rest tonight, take something for the headache and maybe put some ice on that.”
Eddie turned to Lena and smiled in a way that clearly asked, ‘happy?’
She huffed out a laugh, shaking her head, but extended a hand and helped haul Eddie off the ground. “Let’s call it a night huh?”
“So how bad was that for my first fight?”
“Honestly, you’d be surprised how many people get knocked out their first time. Plus, you lasted longer than most, so you got that going for you.”
Eddie laughed, “I suppose we should call it a night.”
“You good to drive home?”
There was something else there, beneath the surface, and Eddie could tell it wasn’t just a question as to his safety. It was more of an invitation, to do something else with the rest of their evening. And he was tempted, god he was tempted, but he had to get back home, where Christopher was waiting with Buck.
Thinking of his friend made his stomach do all sorts of weird and uncomfortable flips, but he brushed it off as best he could. “I’m good to go, I’ve gotta get home to my kid.”
Lena nodded, not at all offended. “Another time. Have a good night Diaz.”
“You too la bombera.” He smiled as he climbed into his car, his head was still pounding but everything else? Everything else felt amazing.
There were still lights on when Eddie pulled into his driveway, careful to leave enough room for Buck to back out. He climbed the steps quickly, keys jingling as he unlocked the door. He could hear voices coming from further inside, and he followed them to Christopher’s room, the sight making his heart warm.
Chris was laying under his covers, smiling and giggling as Buck knelt on the ground in front of him, acting out some sort of story involving a stuffed t-rex, a G.I Joe, the blue power ranger, and the lego Spiderman hanging suspended from a lego tower.
“Oh no!” Buck shouted softly, making an exaggerated chomping noise as the t-rex swooped down and apparently ate the G.I Joe.
“That’s not what happens!” Christopher cried, smiling.
“It isn’t?”
“No!”
“Well then what does happen?”
Christopher paused for a moment, grabbing something under the sheets, “He gets saved by Wolverine!”
Buck looked around in confusion, scratching at his head, “I don’t see Wolverine.”
“He’s right here!” Christopher shouted, pulling his Wolverine action figure out from under his blanket.
“Woah!” Buck cried, “And it’s a sneak attack from Wolverine, oh no what is the t-rex gonna do!”
Christopher double over laughing and if Eddie’s heart hadn’t already been full it certainly was then. “Now what’s going on in here?” He asked in a playfully stern tone.
“Daddy!” Christopher looked up and his smile grew impossibly larger.
“Hey buddy!” Eddie ran into the room and bent down, pulling Chris into a tight hug, “How was your day?”
Christopher’s head fell back, and he thought for a moment, “Good, Buck and I saved the world!”
“Oh, did you now?”
Buck chuckled, standing and sticking his hands in his pocket as he watched the two of them interact. “More like the backyard.”
“It was being attacked by pirates.”
Eddie pulled back, holding Chris at arms’ length, “I thought you liked pirates.”
“I do, the good ones!” He laughed.
“Oh of course, what was I thinking? Alright, time for bed huh?”
Chris sighed, looking down at where their story had been abruptly paused. “Okay. Buck? Can we finish the story tomorrow?”
“Absolutely buddy!” Buck said, not even having to ask Eddie if it would be okay, already knowing the man worked again the next day.
Chris pulled away from his dad and held out his arms expectantly, waiting for Buck to hug him goodnight as per usual. Buck, never one to disappoint, bent down and wrapped his arms gently around Christopher’s small frame. “Goodnight buddy.”
“Goodnight kid.” Chris whispered, stifling a yawn.
“Night Chris, I love you.” Eddie bent over, kissing his sons’ forehead before following Buck towards the door.
“Love you daddy.”
Pausing at the door Eddie smiled as he looked at the bed, waiting for Christopher to situate himself comfortably before flipping the light off and pulling the door mostly closed behind him.
Buck turned to him, smile on his face and something funny to say no doubt when his entire demeanor changed, “Woah Eddie, what happened are you okay?”
Eddie stopped in confusion before recognition dawned, he was probably bruised from the fight. He hadn’t even had a chance to look at it, he really hoped it wasn’t too bad. “Oh yeah, fine just um, little mishap at work.”
“Okay.” Buck was staring at him, watching him closely, almost like he didn’t believe Eddie but didn’t want to call him out either. “Well, I can be over again tomorrow, around noon, right?”
Eddie blinked in surprise, butterflies fluttering in his stomach at the fact that Buck knew his schedule. He shoved them down quickly however and nodded instead. Except that motion made the world spin a little, so he quickly stopped. “Yeah, noon is great.”
Buck was staring at him again, worry clearly shining in his eyes. “You sure you’re okay?”
“Positive, wouldn’t be home if I weren’t. Now you should get some sleep, I assume you’ll have your hands full again tomorrow.”
“Yeah that kid is never short on energy.”
“I know it’s obscene.” Eddie responded immediately, and the two of them laughed, the sound tapering off awkwardly. And Eddie had to wonder when there started to be tension between them; or maybe he was the only one feeling it.
Buck sniffed, smiling softly and looking up at Eddie through his eyelashes.
The sight was so beautiful Eddie’s heart almost leapt right out of his chest; and wouldn’t that have been embarrassing. He must have gotten hit harder than he realized, normally he was able to control those types of thoughts, knowing nothing would ever- could ever- come of it. He cleared his throat, “Well, it’s been a long day I should,” he gestured vaguely over his shoulder.
“Right.” Buck nodded, “Have a good night Eddie.”
“Yeah you too.” Eddie practically whispered, watching and, definitely not admiring the view, as Buck let himself out. Once the coast was clear he let himself collapse against the counter with a sigh, head hanging, and eyes closed.
“You should just tell him already.”
The sudden voice nearly gave Eddie a heart attack and he turned around to see Christopher standing in the doorway of the kitchen. “What are you doing out of bed?” He demanded good-naturedly.
Chris shrugged innocently, “I was thirsty.”
“Course you were, get some water and then get your butt in bed you little stinker.”
“I’m going.” Christopher said, smiling up at him in a way that bode of far too much knowledge. “But you should tell him.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“That you like Bu-”
“Bed!” Eddie said loudly, hating how much his ears were burning.
Christopher just giggled, walking off slowly to his room, cup of water balanced in one hand.
Eddie sighed heavily, if he hadn’t needed Tylenol before he certainly did now. He did not need to think about the implications of his son giving him advice on his love life.
Buck groaned as his head flopped to land against his steering wheel. He knew his crush on Eddie was getting out of hand, he just didn’t know what to do. Maddie would say that he should just tell him already, “nothing can happen if you do nothing.”. But it wasn’t like that was even remotely an option. Eddie definitely wasn’t interested, and he really couldn’t do anything to mess up what they already had. Because even if he couldn’t be with Eddie in the way he really wanted, he knew he needed Eddie in his life in some capacity. And confessing unrequited love was a sure-fire way to get him full scale ejected from Eddie’s life.
He waited for the light in the living room to flip off before starting his car and pulling out of the driveway. He was just thankful that when he got home, he was able to fall asleep relatively quickly, even if it was on the couch with his tv providing a wonderful distracting background noise to his otherwise loud thoughts.
The next day started off as normal as they all did, no dark rain clouds or impending sense of doom. Just a quick flash of a smile goodbye and a shout of “love you” out the door before Buck was left alone in the house with Christopher.
“Well bud, what do you feel like doing today?”
Christopher thought on it for a moment, before his face lit up, “Ice cream!”
Buck chuckled with a shake of his head; he was glad he wasn’t the kid’s dad because he couldn’t say no to anything that child wanted. “Ice cream it is.”
Christopher was sitting in front of the tv, enjoying the ice cream they’d gotten to go, while Buck was cleaning up from lunch in the kitchen. His phone started ringing, vibrating from its place on the countertop, and he quickly dried his hands and went to grab it. He glanced up at Chris quickly, smiling when the kid shouted something about going the other way at the tv, before answering. “Hey Bobby, what’s-”
Bobby cut him off quickly, his words making Buck’s heart come to a jarring halt. “Buck listen, Eddie collapsed at work today, he’s in the hospital right now getting looked at but we don’t know what the problem is.”
Buck felt like there wasn’t air to breathe, “What?” he croaked.
“Yeah, I just wanted to let you know and, I don’t know if you want to bring Christopher or-”
“No!” Buck said quickly, nervously checking to make sure Chris’ attention was still drawn to the tv before stepping into the laundry room. “No, I-I don’t, he doesn’t need to be there yet. Um, let’s just, find out what’s wrong first. He’s had so much happen recently, he doesn’t need to get freaked out if it’s nothing.”
“Okay,” Bobby agreed readily, and that made Buck’s heart swell in gratitude. “Are you coming?”
“Uh, I can uh, I can give Carla a call, see if she’s available. I’ll text you when I find out. Just, please keep me updated?”
“Of course.”
“‘Kay thanks, talk to you soon.” Buck sighed heavily, noticing for the first time how badly his hands were shaking. “Oh shit.” He breathed.
Christopher was sitting exactly where Buck had left him, smiling and laughing, not a worry in the world. Buck hated himself for what he was about to do but he couldn’t just not tell Chris his dad was hurt.
“Hey kiddo,” Buck swallowed, he put the tv on mute and steeled himself for what was probably going to be one of the hardest conversations of his life.
Chris picked up on the shift in tone immediately, “What’s wrong Buck?”
“Look um, buddy, your daddy he’s, well he’s a little hurt. And um, our friends had to take him to the hospital.”
“We go see him?” Chris asked immediately.
“Um, I’m going to see if Carla can come over and watch you for a bit, while I go to the hospital.”
“But I wanna see daddy.”
“I know you do. I promise you can see him, just-just not right this second okay?”
Chris paused, his voice small and quivering, “Is daddy going to the same place as mommy?”
Buck’s heart shattered and he had to physically hold back a sob, because the truth was, he didn’t even know. Bobby hadn’t been specific, but he’d sounded rattled. “No, no buddy of course not. Your daddy, well I don’t know if you know this, but your daddy is one strong guy.”
“Like you?” Christopher asked, tone lifting a little.
“Nah, even stronger.” Buck whispered, blinking back tears.
“Who?”
Buck smiled, the action painful, “You.”
Buck was at the hospital a little over thirty minutes later rushing in and finding the team sitting in the waiting room. “Hey, what’s going on any news?”
Bobby was on his feet in a second, hands gently gripping Buck’s shoulders, “Hey buddy, calm down, we don’t have any news yet. Just breathe okay?”
Buck nodded, doing his best to keep his panic at bay. “What happened?”
“He just collapsed, no warning or anything.” Hen supplied, an untouched cup of coffee sitting on the table next to her.
“I mean, did it have to do with how he got hurt yesterday?”
Bobby crossed his arms over his chest, “How did he get hurt yesterday?”
Buck blinked, “What do you mean, he told me he got hurt at work.” Buck swallowed, “He did get hurt at work, right?” He asked, but his teams silence was already answer enough. Eddie had lied.
The realization smacked Buck like a train. He couldn’t think of a reason that Eddie would lie to him, it didn’t make sense.
“It wasn’t that bad.”
The soft murmur had Buck’s attention zeroing in on a woman he hadn’t noticed before, sitting in the corner chair in the same firefighter uniform as the rest of his team.
“What wasn’t that bad?” Bobby asked.
The woman sighed, “He got smacked in the head pretty good last night but-”
“What?” Buck interrupted, “What was he doing?”
“I took him to a small street fighting ring I’m in.”
Buck blinked; certain he’d heard wrong. “You made him do what?”
“Hey, I didn’t make him do anything, he wanted to.” The woman shot back defensively.
“Wh- who even are you, why are you here?”
“Lena Bosko, and I’m here cause I’m worried about my teammate.”
Buck was getting pretty sick of having curveballs thrown at him, and he could only turn to Bobby in hurt confusion at the new knowledge.
Bobby sighed, “It’s only a temporary thing, her team is a little displaced right now cause of the tsunami and you’re not ready to come back to work yet Buck.”
Lena paused, looking him up and down, “So you’re the infamous Buck.”
“What of it?” Buck said sharply, not liking the way she was glowering at him.
She shrugged nonchalantly, “Nothing, just not how I was picturing the guy who lost Eddie’s kid in the tsunami to look.”
Buck saw red, “What did you just say?” He snarled.
“Woah, okay how about we calm down.” Chim said, stepping in front of Buck as he took a threatening step forward.
“Bosko, that is enough, I want you to go cool off.”
“But Cap-”
“I will text you with an update when we have one for now take a walk.” Bobby’s voice left no room for question.
Lena scoffed, glaring daggers at Buck as she stalked out of the room, the eyes of the remaining 118 following her as she went.
Only once she was out of sight around the corner did Chimney release Buck’s shoulder from his hold. “Sorry Buckaroo.” He whispered.
Buck wasn’t quite sure what he was apologizing for, but he appreciated it all the same.
“Hey Buck, I’m gonna talk to her okay? She doesn’t get to speak to you that way.”
Buck nodded, “It’s okay Bobby.” He followed Chim’s guiding hands into a chair and leaned into Hen’s offered arm.
She rubbed her hand across his back, “He’s gonna be okay Buck.”
Buck smiled up at her weakly; he really wanted to believe her, but he just couldn’t shake the fact that she didn’t actually know.
It was another hour at least before the doctor came out, he told the team all sorts of information that Buck simply wasn’t able to process, he knew they’d tell him the important bits later. All he really got was that Eddie was alive but unconscious, and they would be able to see him.
The room wasn’t anything special, once you’d been in enough hospital rooms, they all looked the same. But Buck hadn’t been quite prepared for how quiet it would be. Aside from the machines, and there were too many of them doing things he didn’t even know and that on its own was enough to terrify him, Eddie was silent. And so still. Buck had to wonder if this was what it had been like for the others when he’d been in the hospital.
Hen gripped his right hand in her own, Chim slipping his fingers through his other, and Bobby placed a warm hand against his shoulder. The flood of support was overwhelming, and he found himself biting back tears.
He stared at Eddie for a moment longer, taking it all in: the closed eyes, bandage around his head, chest rising and falling steadily with the beeping of machines. “You’re an idiot.” He whispered, as the first tear of what would probably be many slipped down his face.

The Pint-sized Protection Squad
Title: The Pint-sized Protection Squad Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader (female) Synopsis:  Bucky Barnes, Alpha & Winter Soldier, thought he knew what scary was.  Then, he came face-to-face with his Omega’s protection squad… Word count: 1800-ish Warnings: tooth-rotting/stomach-aching fluff of the highest degree. A/N: @ursulaismymiddlename reblogged this idea and the idea wouldn’t let me go.  So, I wrote this instead of doing my real job.  It might be garbage, but I had fun plunking it down!
Liked it? There’s a sequel over HERE!
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  When you approached him with the idea to start a daycare for the alpha/beta/omega kids in the neighborhood, he said ‘no’.  The idea of strangers coming and going around his Omega just about gave him hives.
“Bucky, let me explain.  Some parents are starting to complain about them being in with non-a/b/o kids.  They’re wanting to ban them.”  Then, she did it. The eyes thing, and the hand thing.  One little hand resting against his chest while those y/e/c eyes blinked up at him, and Bucky wavered.  “Just picture them, hun.  All those little alphas and omegas, just pushed aside.”  She peeked up at him from beneath thick lashes before delivering the final blow.  “Breaks my heart to think about if they were our pups…”
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  When his superiorly-strategist-skilled Omega shot down all his protestations, he gave in and said ‘yes’.  While you picked out paint colors, tiny furniture, and craft ideas, he frantically begged Tony and Steve to help him protect her.  The first floor of their three-story apartment was thoughtfully converted for the project, complete with a separate front door.  Vetting processes were carefully constructed, security measures meticulously enacted, FRIDAY installed.  And on meet & greet night, Bucky tried hard to ignore his cotton-mouth anxiety at the strangers gathered around his Omega.
Watching her made it easier.  Seated in a blue overstuffed chair covered with butterflies, she talked animatedly with an Alpha and Omega pair of mothers and a Beta dad.  The moms’ little Omega girl sat cuddled in her lap, and the dad’s little Alpha boy leaned against her, tucked under her other arm.  Both children looked up at her like she hung the moon.  Bucky knew the feeling well.  Seeing the delight beaming from her in huge smiles, Bucky knew this was a perfect fit for his girl.
That didn’t stop him from scenting the heck out of her before she opened the doors the first day.
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  Growling low under his breath every time an Alpha came in to drop off their pup was just a friendly hello.  An assertive hello.  Okay, it was a warning that she was HIS.  So, while the Alpha moms or dads in question side-eyed him warily, Y/N just laughed and smacked a kiss to his chin as she signed in the little pups and handed out morning snacks.
She refused to let him sit with them and glower at the kids all day, so he stayed glued to the security camera footage instead.  After a month of watching her work her magic with the little ones, and zero problems with the parents, Bucky started to relax.
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  Asking his Omega to wear a body camera and bio-sensors that fed into his phone when he went on the first mission after opening the daycare wasn’t overkill in the slightest.  When Y/N refused, he 100% supported that.  The fact that Wanda showed up to “help” her in the daycare while he was gone was random coincidence.
Ur lucky ur cute & she brought kifla cookies. eating them all, BTW.  A fond grin touched his face as he read her text.  God, he loved this woman.  A picture of she and Wanda surrounded by the children, mouths stuffed full of the cinnamon-sugary treat, chirped through next, pulling a chuckle from him.
Three months passed, and Bucky had to agree that the daycare was an unarguable success.  He’d even decreased his security footage viewing to just a glance now and then, confident in the Stark technology and FRIDAY vigilance at work.  One particular fall day, Bucky sat at the kitchen table methodically field cleaning his guns.  Michael Kamen soundtracks filtered from his phone, a pleasant background to his task.  A faint whiff caught his attention - geranium and lemon.  Your scent, but with a hit of something different.  Something sweet and warm...Heat.  You were going into heat.
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  The fact that the door now hung from only one loose hinge was completely irrelevant.
Alarm pounded through him as he raced down the stairs.  Your heat was early, so you were caught defenseless against the nausea, cramps, and dizziness.  When Bucky burst into the daycare floor, a mish-mash of scents smacked him in the face.  Sweet orange, strawberry, black licorice, chocolate, cinnamon red-hots - it smelled like a melting candy store, and Bucky couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on.  He turned the corner into the play room, and there you were.  Curled up on the floor, leaning weakly against the blue butterfly chair, you had an arm wrapped around your middle as the first wave of cramps hit you.  Overcome with the need to get to you, Bucky charged forward…and was met with immediate resistance.
Four little alphas, three boys and one girl, lined up in front of Y/N protectively.  Indignant glares gave him pause while a blonde little Beta girl with adorable freckles stood up on the blue chair and pointed at him accusingly.
“Alpha!” came the warning.  One of the little alphas, a tow headed youngster that reminded him too much of a little Steven Rogers, lowered his head and barreled towards him.  Before Bucky could blink, the pup slammed his foot into Bucky’s shin.  A grunt left him as Bucky put an arm out to hold his attacker off.  Bucky couldn’t hold in the squawk of pain as another Alpha, this one a three-foot tall munchkin with gorgeous black eyes and a lightning bolt shaved into his temple fade, ricocheted a Duplo Lego brick off his temple.  Stumbling away from the unexpected assault, Bucky tripped over a toy train and fell hard, right on his ass.  Turmoiling emotions avalanched through him as Bucky tried to decide between crabwalking back from the threat or protecting his Omega.
“Stop!”  The cry, weak as it was, froze the whole group.  Bucky’s head swiveled in Y/N’s direction, and his heart thumped hard.
His Omega was being well protected, after all.
A teensy little redhead Omega with brilliant blue eyes had her arms wrapped around Y/N’s neck, holding her face smooshed under her tiny chin while Y/N tried to pull back a breath.  Trying to let Miss Y/N scent her for comfort, like a good Omega would.  The other Omega, a chubby little doll with curly brown pigtails and dimples, tenderly stroked Y/N’s hair, as she murmured, “Don’t you worry, Miss Y/N!  Your Alpha will be here soon and give you hugs.  Do you need an Elsa band-aid?”  Little “Steve” and Lightning Bolt were flanked by a warrior princess in a pink tshirt emblazoned with “this little mermaid is a hot mess”, and a boy with purple Hulk pants and an Iron Man hoodie.  The row of tiny Alphas were churning out angry, fearful, candy-scented pheromones like a factory while the two Omegas waffled between scared and soothing scents.
You had your very own pint-sized protection squad.
Warrior Princess took a step forward, eyes squinted threateningly.
“State your business, Alpha!”
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  Seven small children who didn’t equal his body mass didn’t intimidate him in the least.
“I-I...Y/N, she - I - she’s my Alpha.  I mean, Omega.  I’m her Alpha,” he stuttered out.
“Yes,” you managed to croak out, groaning as another cramp waved through you.  Little Red looked at Dimples, alarmed.
“Maybe she needs a drink!”  Dimples scampered off in the direction of the kitchen, back in an instant with a leaking unicorn sippy cup which she shoved in your face.  Lightning Bolt stepped up next to Warrior Princess, fists on his hips.
“You her Alpha?  Prove it!”
“Prove it?”
“Yeah!  What’s her favorite bug?”
Completely flummoxed, Bucky had to think for a second, shaking his head a bit as your increasing heat-scent crowded his brain.
“Lightning bug.”  The four little Alphas looked at each other, gathering around and whispering.
“Is that the one whose bottom lights up?”
“Yup, that’s it.”
Iron Man Hoodie turned around, eyes narrowed suspiciously as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Alright, you may pass.”
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  He didn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.  He scrambled to your side, scooping you into his arms and pressing your face to his throat.  When your skin met his, you both sighed in relief as he pulled you fully into his lap, Little Red squashed somewhere in the mix.  He felt your breath wash against him when you sighed, your fingers grasping his shirt as his presence soothed the pain for the moment.  The soothing purr that you loved rumbled from his chest, vibrating into you as his calming scent of rosemary and sandalwood filled the room.
“Hhmmm,” the contented hum as Dimples suddenly pressed herself to his back.  A bright little chuckle had him lifting his elbow as Little Red climbed out from between them.
“He’s purring like a big cat!”
And just like that, five of the pups had found some way to plaster themselves on or around him and Y/N.  Murmurs of satisfaction groaned here and there as they all breathed in his calming scent.  Thoroughly bemused, Bucky tried to pay attention as Warrior Princess and little “Steve” tried to train him on Alpha stuff.
“If you’re gonna protect your Omega, you’ve gotta have a mean face.  Like this!”  Warrior Princess schooled her face into a properly intimidating scowl.
“Yeah!  And that purr is legit, but you gotta scare off other Alphas with a really scary growl.  Here, listen!” Little “Steve” growled with ferocity.  “Now, you do it.  Show us your mean face and your growl!”
Bucky ‘legit’ didn’t know what the hell to do.  You huffed a chuckle against his collarbone, and Bucky dipped his chin down to look at you.
“Yeah, Bucky.  Show us your mean face.”  Rolling his eyes at you, Bucky screwed his features into an exaggerated glower, a thunderous snarl rumbling from him.  Warrior Princess clapped her hands, beaming a proud smile at him.
“That was real good!  But next time, show more teeth with your face, and then you’ll be really scary.”
With that, she flounced over and curled up against Y/N’s back, sandwiched between Lightning Bolt and Freckles, the Beta.  Bucky felt his heart thump hard again.
Bucky Barnes was a reasonable man.  With Y/N in his lap, and pint-sized pups squished up against his back, her back, around his arms, etc., he knew this daycare had always been a fantastic idea.

The Afterlife Of A Time Traveler
(hey guys! I wrote this fanfic and AU! it’s currently 1AM, I just finished it and it probably sucks but I don’t care!)
Rex was terrified. No Lego he knew had ever died. Even Vitruvius had come back from the dead, proving in some way there was no Lego afterlife - and yet he had just disappeared from existence. Everything was black around him. He started crying.  “H-hello?” he said into the darkness, barely even trying to use his tough guy voice, plus his voice cracking due to him crying. Information was fed into his head. He had a choice he could make. He could stay there and suffer for eternity, or start a new life in a completely different universe. He was given a minute to decide. He felt bad about his mistakes, and stopped crying, but still with a shaky voice said “I want to sta...start over.” with that very sentence, his minifigure body glowed with pain. Everything hurt. He could feel things he had never felt on his body before. And then, in an instant, he wasn’t in the darkness anymore.
“Who are you?” said the voice of a young teenager. He sounded defensive. Rex opened his eyes, which had been closed because of the pain, and looked around. Seeing not only how different his surroundings were, but seeing Legos - Emmet - no, his whole universe on the grass he was standing on at a smaller scale, drove him into a panic attack. He fell to the ground on his face, crying and shaking, which freaked out this young teenager and his sister even more. “Bia you go get mom, I’ll stay here and make sure he’s okay.” said the teenager. The girl nodded and ran off, and the boy walked over to Rex. “Hey dude are you okay? You kinda just appeared out of thin air” he asked. Rex couldn’t move. A woman ran through the door to the backyard. “What happened?” she asked the kids. “He just appeared out of thin air mom!” said the girl. “Finn, what happened?” she obviously didn’t believe her daughter. “Mom, you’re really not gonna believe this but he just appeared out of thin air.” said the boy. “Really? Have you seen this boy before?” the siblings looked at each other, shrugged, and look back at their mother. “No mom” said the girl. “You’re sure he doesn’t go to your school?” she asked the boy. “Yeah I’m pretty sure, I know most of the kids in my grade and the ones I don’t I think I would at least recognize.” responded the boy. “Huh. well we can’t just leave him lying here, Finn, can you drag him to the couch?” said the mom. “sure mom.” said the boy, picking up Rex by the hands which he then put around his neck in a fireman carry. He then carried Rex, who was knocked unconscious upon hitting the ground, to the couch in the living room of the house. He laid him down face up, noticing his nose was bleeding. “I'll umm… go grab tissues to help him” said the girl, running off. Rex's face was now clearly visible and very different from his Lego face. His hair was mostly the same shape and color, but his yellow plastic “skin” was now pale. He also had freckles and acne in the place of where stubble use to be. He looked like a normal 13-14 year old boy.
“And you swear you’ve never seen this kid before?” said the mom, putting tissues up Rex's nose to help stop the bleeding. “yes mom” said the boy. The girl nodded. Rex had been breathing out of his nose, so it now being clogged by tissues woke him up. His eyes opened quickly and he started to panic again, trying to sit up but not having enough energy to. “its okay, its okay,” said the mom, trying to calm rex down. “What’s your name?” she asked once he was calm. “...Rex.” Said Rex, his voice shaky. Just then, the Mom got a call on her cellphone. “Hang on, sorry I gotta take this. Kids, can you try to help him out?” she said, picking up her phone and holding it to her chest while walking away from the kids. “My name’s Finn and this is my sister Bianca. So… Rex.. Where are you from?” Asked Finn. No response. “What are your parents names?” Asked Finn, again. No response. “Do you have amnesia?” asked Bianca. “Sis, if he had amnesia he wouldn’t know it, and I don’t think that’s an appropriate thing to ask him.” Finn looked back at Rex. “Sorry about her. But, do you have amnesia?” He asked Rex. Rex shrugged and shook his head no. “Well, what do you remember then? You have to be able to tell us something, right?” asked Finn. Rex thought about it for a second, and then noticed the Legos were still visible through glass door to the backyard. He pointed at them. “Legos?” said Bianca, confused. “Legos… is that it?” asked Finn. “I umm.. I don’t think you want to hear the full story…” said Rex, his voice still cracking. “Can you give us a short, believable version of it?” asked Bianca. “I...I can try.” replied Rex. “I am… or I at least was, a Lego.” he said, serious as he could be. Bianca snorted. “Yeah right, you were a Lego, next thing you’re gonna tell me is that you know Emmet and Lucy right?” asked Finn, doubting Rex. The very mention of Emmet’s name sent a dagger into Rex’s heart. “Yeah, they were my best friends. Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Metalbeard, Benny, Batman, Emmet, all of them. Even Vitruvius, y’know before he died. I even helped defeat President Business 5 years ago! Everything is Awesome will always be my favorite song, and Bricksburg, or apocalypse burg, or whatever you two are calling it now will always be my true home.” he said, his voice cracking and his old voice seeping in. Finn and Bianca couldn’t believe their ears. “Wh..Who..What..” Finn was in shock. This wasn’t really happening. A Lego minifigure didn’t just come to life, no, this kid was just crazy. “Who are...Who were you?” asked Bianca. This question confused Rex, but he answered the way he wanted to. “My name is Rex Dangervest.” Said Rex. “sounds like a name you would come up with bro.” she said to Finn. “how to you believe this so easily Bia, it’s impossible!” Finn said, raising his voice a little. “Well nothing is impossible if you just try” she said, quietly. “She’s right” Rex said, agreeing with Bianca. Finn sighed. “As much as I don’t believe this whole thing and as impossible as it might be… you do have a point” he said. Rex sat up, now having the energy to do so. “So... how close were you and Emmet?” asked Finn, now curious what Rex might know about the character he had spent the last 5 years creating, despite not remembering Rex’s existence at all. Rex hesitated before answering the question. “...We were super close. He was basically like a little brother to me.” he didn’t want to tell anyone about his true past, or that he was Emmet just yet. He needed them to trust him for some amount of time before that. “Uh huh.” said Finn, not believing Rex again. “What’s wrong with that?” asked Bianca. “Sis, him saying that is basically saying that he was… Queen Whatevera Wana’bi’s sister or daughter. It doesn’t make sense in the story.” Finn explained. “...oh.” replied Bianca. “Yeah. who are you really?” asked Finn. At this point, their mom came back, stopping this conversation. “I am so sorry about that Rex.” she said, then she turned her attention to her kids. “Kids, Dad had to go to an important business meeting and won't be back till next weekend.” she explained. “Okay.” said Finn. Bianca nodded. “Now, Rex, do you, I don’t know, remember anything before you “magically appeared” in our backyard?” asked the mom. “He’s a Lego from a different dimension!” exclaimed Bianca. “Bia!” Exclaimed Finn, knowing his sister didn’t understand how crazy this sounded. “Really?” said the mom, trying to tell herself that her kids weren’t crazy but knowing full well that they probably were. Rex nodded. “Yeah, sure, what else did he say?” asked the mom, not buying it. “He knew all Finn’s character’s names! I bet he even knows mine! He says that he was Emmet’s brother!” exclaimed Bianca, excited. “Well today is just a day of very interesting events I guess. Rex, if your parents don’t show up here by next Monday we’re kicking you out on the streets.” said the mom. “...okay…” said Rex, worried. What could he do in a week?
A lot. As he learned, he could do a lot in a week.
That week, Bianca and Finn both happened to be on spring break, so they and Rex spent the whole week playing with Legos. Rex even made his own character to play with them as! A dog trainer named Ripley who trained Dinosaur-Dog hybrids. Mainly raptors. He learned more about what Finn and Bianca thought of the characters, and how they saw his whole world. It was hard for him to watch at some points, knowing he ending things as he did, and there was no way Emmet knew that Ripley was actually Rex. Sure, Emmet knew about Finn’s existence from the whole kragle thing when he was taken out of his world before, but there was nothing linking that kid and Rex together in anyway.
In Emmet’s world, Ripley had the same voice as rex did and it freaked him out. Rex had been sleeping on the couch the whole week. He didn’t mind it. The kid’s mom gave him acne cream because his acne was bad. He didn’t mind it. He didn’t mind anything that they did to him that would seem bad, because he had been through so much worse. But to know these people were part of the reason he was stuck under that dryer for so many years? He did mind that. That
Sunday, the day before Rex would inevitably be kicked out on the street, Bianca went over to a friend’s house, meaning it would just be him and Finn.
The perfect time to tell Finn the truth.
“Hey Finn?” asked Rex. had been fiddling around with some Legos while Finn texted someone. “Yeah Rex?” Replied Finn. “Can I talk to you about something?” asked Rex. “...Sure, what is it?” responded Finn, a bit confused. “Can we go inside?” asked Rex, unsure of who would be listening if they were outside, and still in the body of an anxious 13 year old. “...Sure” replied Finn, still unsure of what was going on. They went up to Finn’s room, Rex sitting on the bed and Finn sitting on his swivel chair. “So, what did you want to talk to me about?” asked Finn. “a week ago, you asked who I am… Who I really am…” said Rex, looking down at the carpeted floor. “Yeah, and?” responded Finn, confused. “Finn… I lied.” Said Rex. “I knew it!” exclaimed Finn. “So what are you, some weird kid who’s been spying on me for the month or something?” Said Finn, both mad at Rex but happy that he was right. “No Finn…” said Rex, taking something out of his pocket. He held up a plastic Lego minifigure of a construction worker. “I am Emmet.” Said Rex, with a serious look on his face. Finn just stared at him in awe. Well, at least it looked like Awe. it was more of a mix of fear, confusion, and somewhat surprise. “That’s impossible.” He said, now sounding mad at Rex. “I’m from a different dimension. One where my ship got blown up and I landed on-under the dryer. You and your sister never made up and I was stuck under the dryer for years. And eventually, something in me died down there. I built a time machine to go back and save my past self from blowing up the ship. Of course, not without getting a team of raptors and building a ship to protect the galaxy beforehand.” explained Rex. Finn didn’t believe a word of this. “What the hell. I thought we were friends, Rex. but if you’re just going to lie to me more, well then maybe I’m glad mom is kicking you out tomorrow.” Finn yelled at Rex, ripping Emmet out of his hands. Rex went into another state of panic. But this time, he felt something different. As if he shrunk down to the size of a Lego. He looked at his hands. He was a Lego again. “REX????!!” Exclaimed Finn, his chair backing into his desk. He couldn’t believe it. Rex had been telling the truth this whole time. He did the only logical thing he could think of. He took Emmet (who was sleeping anyways so this was probably just a weird nightmare to him) and Lego Rex back to the backyard, putting Emmet back where he had been before doing anything else. Rex came back to life as a human on the grass of the backyard. “Rex!!” exclaimed Finn, now happy as ever to see the human counterpart of the alternate timeline version of his favorite Lego character. “See kid, I wasn’t lying.” Said Rex, sounding just like his old self again. Without a second thought, Finn gave Rex a hug. “Kid?” Rex was confused by this. Finn was crying a little. When he was done with that, he explained himself. “You’re the closest thing I’ll ever get to meeting Emmet Brickowski for real. You’re the closest thing I’ll get to me meeting my best friend.” this made Rex start crying too. The two boys came up with a plan, once they realized Rex could change from human to Lego and Lego to human whenever he wanted to. He transformed into a Lego and waited in front of Emmet and Lucy’s house.
Rex cautiously knocked on the door. “Coming!” said a familiar voice. Emmet opened the door. “R..Rex?” he said, staring at Rex. “Hey...Emmet…” replied Rex. “how are you still alive? I thought you disappeared forever! Wait, were you Ripley the whole time?” “Emmet, who are you talking to?” said another voice familiar to Rex, except it was a girl’s this time. Wyldstyle. “Rex?” she just looked at Rex in shock. And so, Rex explained what happened to him to them. “So, let me get this straight. You became human, became best friend’s with the man upstairs’s son, and then found a way to become a Lego again?” Said Lucy, still in shock. “Yeah well he didn’t believe the Lego side of the story either so.” Said Rex. “well I believe it.” said Emmet. “Emmet, you can’t be so trusting of Rex” said Lucy. “Lucy, you haven’t seen the man upstairs’s son. Rex and I have.” said Emmet, trying to find a way to trust Rex. “yeah, well I’m pretty sure I’ve seen his daughter!” Lucy blurted out. “You what” said the two boys in unison. “After you destroyed everything, a...human girl picked me up and just stared at me before throwing me into the abyss with the others.” explained Lucy. “Bianca.” said Rex. “that was Bianca.” he continued. “And the Boy’s name is Finn right?” asked Emmet, remembering Rex’s story. “Correct.” replied Rex. “hmm…” Lucy was In just as much disbelief as Finn was, and Emmet was acting more like Bianca had before when Rex explained his backstory to her. “You have no proof!” Said Wyldstyle. “And you have no way to disprove me.” said Rex. Lucy did not like this fact. “Emmet, he tried to trap you under in the undar system of dryer. You can’t trust him.” “well maybe you can’t, but I can.” said Emmet.  And from that day on, Rex lived a double life, in the Lego and human worlds. Mostly in the Lego world. He befriended the rest of Emmet’s friends and apologized for ruining Queen Whatevra Wana’bi’ and Batman’s Wedding. Eventually Lucy learned to trust Rex. Back in the human world, Rex would tell Bianca and Finn about what he and the others would do, and how their imagination was just the start of what really happened in the Lego world.

Adventures in Babysitting- Thorbruce
“I lost the baby.” Bruce dropped the beakers he was holding. Luckily, they had been empty and no dangerous chemicals were spilled.
“You what?” Bruce asked, turning to face his boyfriend. “Do you know what Tony is going to do to us if Morgan isn’t safe and sound when he and Pepper get home?”
“I know, I know,” Thor ran a hand through his growing hair. “We were playing with Legos, and I turned around to change the TV channel because Morgan wanted to watch Disney, and when I turned back, she was gone!”
“Thor, you know Morgan only watches Disney with Pepper! She tricked you!” Bruce took off his lab coat, grabbing the brown jacket Tony had bought him, and headed out of his lab.
“She’s probably looking for Natasha. You know how weak Nat is with her. She’ll give her anything she asks for.” Thor spoke, following Bruce.
“Did she ask you for anything? Like a cookie or a flamethrower?” Bruce asked, searching for Natasha or Morgan.
“She wanted to train with Steve, but I told her she had to wait for Tony and Pepper’s permission.”
“Okay, you head to the gym, I’ll look for Natasha,” Bruce ordered. “One of us will have to find her.” Thor took off in one direction, Bruce the other.
Bruce found Natasha in the living room, watching TV while painting her nails. “Nat, have you seen Morgan?”
“Huh? Morgan wanted to see Steve in action, so I let her in the gym. Why?” Bruce said a silent prayer to whatever god smiled on him today, rushing to the gym.
When Bruce arrived, Thor was staring at Morgan and Steve. Someone had set up a small, Morgan-sized punching bag next to Steve’s, and Morgan was practicing with Steve. It was really cute, so Bruce took a picture. It would never see the light of day.
“Morgan, thank God. You shouldn’t run off without telling someone where you’re going,” Bruce chastised. “You gave Thor a heart attack.”
Morgan looked up from her punching bag, blonde ponytail swishing with the motion. “Sorry, Uncle Bruce. I just wanted to train with Captain America.”
Thor picked Morgan up, letting her climb onto his shoulders.
“I know, but let’s wait until your mom and dad get home before you start fighting, okay? We don’t want to surprise Tony.”
“Okay.” Morgan slumped on Thor’s head, closing her eyes. “I’m tired. Can Uncle Thor read me a story?”
“I think he can, what do you think, Thor?” Bruce asked.
“I most definitely can. Come along, Lady Morgan. Which story would you like today?” Thor walked out of the gym with Morgan, leaving Bruce and Steve.
“You do not tell Tony or Pepper what happened unless you want to die,” Bruce warned.
“You’re going to kill me if I tell?” Steve asked, confused.
“No,” Bruce clarified. “Pepper will.” And with that, he left.
“And so, with her friends all wounded, the mighty Sif ran and jumped, plunging her sword through the beast, saving the village and her friends!” Thor finished his story, Morgan fast asleep in his arms. Bruce smiled and sat near his boyfriend.
“You’re doing a great job, Thor. Despite the disaster that happened today, you’re shaping up to be an amazing uncle for her.” Thor smiled, kissing Morgan’s head.
“So are you, Dr. Banner. Who else would quite literally drop everything to search for a kid they weren’t in charge of? Especially when working on something important?”
“Tests can wait,” Bruce insisted. “Morgan’s top priority, after taking care of you, dumbass.”
“I resent that, Mr. I-Have-Seven-PhDs-And-Can’t-Find-My-Way-Out-Of-A-Paper-Bag.” Thor mocked, carrying Morgan to her bed. “Now, if you excuse me, I need to get Morgan to bed.”
“Have fun, and don’t lose her again!” Bruce called after him, laughing. “God, you’re adorable.”
“You guys are gonna be great parents, if you want that,” Natasha said, appearing from nowhere. “You and Thor care so much that it’s crazy to think you’d be terrible parents.”
“Natasha, you know my dad was-”
“An asshole, yes,” Natasha cut off. “So was Tony’s, and you’ve seen how much he adores Morgan. With the way you treat her, you’re gonna be like Tony. And Thor, well, Thor’s naturally good with kids. So, if you ever want to go down that road, you have my official stamp of approval.” Natasha left the exact same way she came, silently and with a smile on her face.
“Huh, maybe she’s right.”
“Who’s right?” Thor asked, coming back from tucking Morgan into bed.
“Natasha.”
“Nat is usually right, I have found. She’s rarely ever been wrong.” Thor sat next to Bruce, turning on a TV to watch a show.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Bruce mumbled, snuggling up to Thor. “I want a blanket.” Bruce was draped with a plush blanket immediately after his request, Thor having half of it over himself so Bruce could snuggle comfortably.
“I have heard this show is trash. Should we watch it?”
“Yes, definitely.”

part 1  part 2  part 4
(you can listen to this song while reading)
________________________________________________________________
“Oh no...” Ned whimpers.
“Yep...” Peter nods and dodges a flying paper ball in the hallway.
“Dude... If she already saw THAT photo it’s over. Even I contemplated not being friends with you after I saw it!” Ned throws a big pile of books in his locker and closes it “It’s the most embarrassing thing I ever saw. Why does your aunt always has to show it? Why do you let her? And why didn’t you like... ‘accidentally’ burn it or ‘made it disappear’?”
“Because it’s one of the few photos that my dad took of me. She loves all of them but this one especially. I can’t get rid of it. I can’t do that to her.” he explains.
Ned slowly nods “Yeah that would be a dick move.” they just stand next to his locker for a second “But Mr. Stark didn’t see it right?”
Peter looks horrified “God no! No, no, no, no that’s the first thing I told May after he left our apartment, he can never see that photo! He’d call me panty liner for the rest of my life.”
“Okay panty liner my locker isn’t waiting for her period to come any time soon so if you could stop protecting it and move away that would be great.” (Y/N) appears out of a sudden.
Peter steps away from her locker while Ned laughs his ass off.
“Sorry... I couldn’t pass the opportunity. And I’m kind of getting MJ’s manners, we’ve been hanging out a bit more lately.” (Y/N) pushes her hair to one side and lets her whole profile exposed to the boys.
Peter’s eyes are glued to her the whole time she looks for her textbook and heads to class wawing at the boys without looking at them and muttering something as a temporary goodbye.
“You’re not very smooth with that puppy-eyed expression Peter. I think if I’ll have to watch your tortured lovesick face for more than two months I’m gonna have to keep a barf bag around.” Michelle creeps up behind.
“You should have seen him last weekend when we watched Stranger Things. (Y/N) fell asleep next to him and was slowly falling on his shoulder. ‘Ned what do I doo?’ the panic in his eyes... It was hilarious.” Ned laughs.
“It was stressful okay? I never had this happen to me! I didn’t know what to do, I still don’t know!” Peter defends himself.
“You should just tell her,” MJ says like it’s obvious.
“I’ve been telling him the whole time!” Ned cheers “She’s intelligent, hard-working, pretty, you have a lot in common,” he winks “she can literally tell you the history of the whole world, loves building legos - I still can’t believe she rebuilt the Millenium Falcon in one day when she accidentally knocked it down and broke it - loves to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender - we have to have another re-watch together sometime - and she’s super funny!”
“I mean.. I don’t really give much recognition to other’s but... (Y/N) is one of the people in this school that I don’t actually hate. She’s pretty cool. And Ned is right she’s hilarious.” Michelle gives her point of view.
“Yeah, she had a funny remark just now about that super embarrassing pho-”
“Dude!” Peter interrupts him.
“What?” Ned shrugs.
MJ frowns “You mean that super embarrassing naked picture when you were three and put a bunch of panty liners all over your body, even covering your small pen-”
“Did (Y/N) tell you about it?!” Peter’s voice cracks halfway.
“No, she didn’t Kermit.” she uses the old nickname for Peter “Ned did. A while ago actually.”
“Ned!” Peter angrily grunts.
“I’m sorry! It slipped and she can be really scary when she needs to be!” Ned backs away a bit.
“I tried to draw it once because I couldn’t really imagine it.” Michelle blurts out receiving two concerned looks from the boys.
“You’re really weird y’know?” Ned says.
“Yeah... I get that a lot from other people.” Michelle squints her eyes at them.
________________________________________________________________
After two months of catching up (Y/N) is at least a decent student. Not the top of the class though. That position is reserved for people like Flash and Peter.
Flash is all rich, privileged and snobby. A modern bully truly.  There were a few times when he provoked Peter so much that it would be understandable for him to throw a punch but he never did. If anything he backed away trying to disappear.
(Y/N) spoke to him about it once.
“Why do you let him do that? A punch in the face would handle it and we’d never hear from Flash again I guarantee you that. You would have the upper hand.”
“And that’s why I can’t do it even if I wanted to. It wouldn’t be fair. I have these powers not to hurt people but to protect them. I would love to do all sorts of sports but with my strength, it would be unfair to have such an advantage.” Peter explained.
“You’re ripping yourself off of all the high school experiences that way.” (Y/N) argued.
Peter just shrugged “It’s the superhero burden I have to take. I wouldn’t punch Flash even if I was a normal teenager. That’s not me.”
(Y/N) clenched her teeth “But that’s me. I’m breaking his nose next time.”
“You can’t do that! They would call your parents and they’d have to come in to talk to the principal!” he freaked out.
“The only person that would have to come to the principal’s office would be Mr. Stark. He’s the one responsible for me now. And I’m pretty sure he’s wealthier  than Flash's parents.”
Peter is the opposite of Flash.  He doesn’t come from a rich family, he’s not arrogant or privileged because of the money on his bank account.  He’s caring and does whatever he can to help anyone even when it’s not in his power.
(Y/N) noticed that whenever an ambulance or a police car passes the school and its sirens reach to their classroom Peter’s eyes fly to the window and he gets all nervous and starts to wiggle in his chair.  He wants to go out there and be helpful. It surprised her how much he searches for danger.
But his caring side stretches out even more. They meet up every week at least twice to do some school work. It benefits both of them. Peter can’t jump in his suit and go be Spider-Man since he has to stay and do his work plus help (Y/N). And she has a place without distractions (until Ned comes) and basically gets a tutor.
Peter is a great teacher. He explains everything with so much patience it amazes her. Seven times is his record in explaining one thing.
They are slowly developing a tradition with aunt May. Every Thursday (Y/N) stays for dinner sometimes joined by Ned too.
When May found out (Y/N) lived alone in her own apartment without any parental supervision she almost had a heart attack. Let’s say Mr. Stark had to deal with a very long furious phonecall but when he explained how everything works and how he makes sure that she’s got everything she needs it calmed her down at least a bit.
For a moment she even considered having her move to the Parkers. In the end, they negotiated that she’ll be having dinner with them every Thursday and if she ever needed she can come to their place at any hour of the day.
“24/7 calling service. If you ever need to talk I’m here for you sunshine.” May’s heartwarming smiles always lightened her mood.
It’s obvious where Peter got his caring side from.
It’s currently Wednesday 11PM which sounds like the best time to start writing an essay that’s due tomorrow right?  Thankfully for (Y/N), it was a history essay which shouldn’t be as hard.
Legs hanging from her bed dangling in the rhythm of the song playing in her earbuds make her stay awake.
Just ten minutes into vomiting words onto the page she hears a loud thud on her window that couldn’t drown in the beats of the music.
(Y/N) turns to the window suddenly wide awake. It sounded like a bullet. Thankfully Mr. Stark made sure all the windows are going to be bulletproof so as long as they stay closed she’ll be fine.
Her lazy ass didn’t close the blinds, therefore, the blood smeared handprint is the first thing she sees.
She throws her laptop on the bed and runs over to the window.
There he is.
Lying on her fire escape stairs.
Spider-Man.
“Peter?!” (Y/N) shrieks while tugging at the window to open it as wide as possible “Can you get up? I have to get you inside.” she holds her hand out and he shakily clutches it.
It takes them a minute before Peter slips through the window into her warm room.
His suit is torn on so many places it looks more like a weird piece of clothing sewed from rags. There’s dried up blood on all the cuts and fresh on his hands. Whoever he was fighting must have hit some of his suit's systems which were powering the heater since Peter was shivering.
“What the hell happened?!”
While pulling off the Spider-Man mask he reveals his beaten up face full of bruises. He even managed to cut up his eyebrow.
(Y/N) covers her mouth in shock and stares at him.
“I-I’m sorry I couldn’t go home because May would have freaked out and I panicked! If she saw me like that-”
“Get that suit off and take a shower.” (Y/N) starts pushing him to the door.
Peter looks surprised at how calm her voice sounds all of a sudden and does as she tells him.
(Y/N) gives him an old big unisex shirt that she wears at home to change into. She doesn’t have any pants for him here so he has to stay in his boxers.
After ten minutes he comes back to her room looking ashamed of himself.  (Y/N) sits on her bed bitting her nails and nervously hitting the bed frame with her foot.  She was considering calling Tony or his aunt the whole time he was in the shower. What if he has internal bleeding or something else neither of them can recognize.
“There was... a lot of blood... But I cleaned it all off! You don’t have to worry about it...” he whispers the last sentence.
He feels bad for putting her under such pressure.
(Y/N) quickly stands up and walks over to him.
She touches his bicep “Are you hurt here?”
“No-oww!” Peter whimpers when she punches him with all her strength.
“What the hell were you thinking?! Who the fuck were you going against?! You should have called me for backup there’s strength in numbers! God, you’re such an idiot Peter what if something worse happened to you? Huh...? Start thinking before you go in!”
Maybe I should have gone to aunt May, Peter thinks to himself.
“And now sit down I have to sew up your eyebrow and disinfect all your wounds.” (Y/N) commands him still pissed off and he can’t do anything but listen.
“I’m sorry...” Peter whispers when (Y/N) sprays in his cuts.
“Am I missing any?” she completely ignores his apology which is a sign for him to try harder.
“There’s one on my back. It bled the most.” he turns around and pushes his shirt up.
“Oh my god Peter...” (Y/N) mumbles lightly touching a giant gash on Peter’s back making him groan in pain “This is going to hurt badly but you have to take it. You should have bled out due to this but I think all your healing powers are concentrating on this big cut because it looks like it’s already sealing. I’m not even gonna sew it, it would have been unnecessary pain.”
When they finish this painful thing they move on to sewing.  Peter isn’t the biggest fan of needles but he trusts (Y/N). He’s not sure where she learned to do it but when he sees how precisely she threads the eye of the needle he knows he’s in good hands.
Their faces are inches away from each other now.
Ever since (Y/N) got him out of that...place Thanos put him in he trusted her with his life more than anyone. His first instinct was to go to her when he got hurt. He couldn’t help but feel safe around her.  The need to protect her was there too even though she proved that she’s more than capable of taking care of herself.
Before he can organize all his thoughts she’s already cutting the thread and checking his eyebrow for the last time.
“(Y/N) I am really sorry. I didn’t want to scare you like that. Honestly, it’s the last thing I wanted to do. I feel like an absolute idiot now.” Peter tries to apologize again.
“You are an idiot. But you always do the heroic thing, Peter... Always. And that’s one of the things I like about you. You sacrifice yourself for others, you never show off even when you have all the right to do it, whenever there’s a crime you’re there in a second and you don’t care if you have an army behind your back or if you’re all alone against a thousand bad guys. You’d still fight them. And that’s what heroes do. But that’s also what idiots do. And since May isn’t here,” she leans forward and kisses the sewed up cut on his eyebrow “Someone has to do it. It probably doesn’t have the same power as hers would but... At least something.”
Peter’s heart starts racing. He gently takes her hand before she pulls away from him “Wait.” this is the first time she let him touch her without flinching since he’s been back in the world of the living.
Her skin is soft which makes Peter’s throat feel dry.
He hears Ned’s, May’s and Michelle’s voices in his head.
Dude! Kiss her!
Come on Peter!
You’re brave enough to fight with a bunch of criminals but you don’t have the courage to kiss a girl? Don’t be a loser Parker.
Peter has the same puppy-eyed expression. His big hazel eyes looking right at her make her cheeks feel hot.
“I-I just wanted to thank you for this. Not just this! But... but everything you do for me not just now but in school too and that you have my back and I can count on you when something happens and...” Peter knows he’s babbling again. There’s nothing he can do about it. This is just how he deals with nervousness.
“I should be the one thanking you. If you didn't tutor me I would probably fail chemistry. With my skills? I’d be sent back to middle school.” (Y/N) chuckles.
Peter is still holding her hand and it makes her skin burn with anticipation.
“That was nothing really. I actually enjoyed it! Going through the basics again with you was fun so it’s not such a big deal! You do a lot more for me! I don’t know where I’d be without you (Y/N) and I just wanted to thank you for all-”
“Come on...” she interrupts him because it’s nerve-racking to listen to his nervous babbling.
“What?” he’s dumbfoundedly looking at her with his big eyes.
“Kiss me!” (Y/N) feels like she’s going to explode if she won’t finally feel his lips against hers.
Peter’s face changes into the one she was slowly falling in love with over those two months. It’s full of deep affection, his torn up eyebrow turning just the right way and the way light glistens in his eyes...
He finally leans in and connects their lips.
And did the fireworks explode at that moment?
No.
It feels like there are stars exploding inside them. No, galaxies! The whole universe just exploded and they are the only ones left.  Even though they are just two teenagers kissing in a room. That’s how it feels.
Peter’s hand moves from her forearm to her shoulder. He always thought it would be awkward and he wouldn’t know what to do with his hands but they instinctively move to her neck pulling her even closer to him.
(Y/N) tangles her hand in his hair and cups his face with the other. She doesn’t want the kiss to end. This moment can’t end.
Peter is overflown with pleasure wrapping a hand around her waist drawing her closer.
Eventually, they have to move away from each other both panting with hungry expressions.  The second their heads stop spinning both of Peter’s hands wrap around (Y/N)’s waist again and she plays with his hair.
He gently places her on the bed enjoying how she looks under him for a moment.  They both examine each other's faces from a new angle for a second and it seems they like the change.
(Y/N) pulls Peter in for another kiss while she ventures with her hand under his shirt sending chills all over his body.  She starts to pull it up as a sign she wants it off and he understands perfectly.
He puts all his weight on his knees and swiftly throws the shirt somewhere on the ground. Before he can steal another kiss (Y/N) puts her palm on his chest and stops him.
She sees his whole torso for the first time which looks like a minefield of bruises and cuts after tonight.
“You don’t have to worry... It almost doesn’t hurt... promise.” Peter mumbles.
Seeing her wistful gaze makes him feel a whole new emotion he can’t explain yet.
(Y/N) changes their positions in one brisk movement being the one on top now. Peter looks almost shocked at the sudden change. Maybe even a little scared.
(Y/N) lowers her lips to his arm and gives a long kiss to one of the bigger bruises slowly making her way down his body treating every bruise the same.
Peter can’t stop himself from letting out a few moans. This is the first time he’s experiencing something like this and it is so much better than he imagined it to be.
She stops right at his bellybutton viewing a cut that’s just above his V-line. Peter notices she stopped so he opens his eyes and looks at her.  It takes him a second to realize what she’s thinking about.
“We don’t have to do it. I would never pressure you into it, we don’t have to rush it.” he tries to reassure her.
“I know.” she nods still buried in her thoughts “Just promise me you won’t endanger yourself like that again so that moment can actually happen.” her eyes lock with his.
Peter stays silent. He’s not answering because they both know he can’t promise her that and he’s not going to lie to her either.
“I’d kiss your whole back too but I think that would be a weird position to be in..” (Y/N) moves up to his face “But I hope this will make up for it.” her lips slowly travel from his neck to his lips.
This kiss is slower and they’re both enjoying it as much as possible.
After a few more exchanges like this (Y/N) rests her head on Peter’s chest listening to his strong stable heartbeat.
He rests his chin on her head and breathes in the scent of her hair which overwhelms his senses. Seems like coconut is his favorite smell now.
With their feet and hands tangled they both peacefully fall asleep.
Some risks were taken.
But there’s nothing to rush, right?

FebruarOC Day 10: Jasmine
(And Jason, because let’s be real here, they’re a package deal when it comes to Alex XD Anyhoot, thanks to my roommate for making decisions for me, this is an AU. Specifically, for long-winded reasons, Alex was raised by his grandfather, and this is the first time he’s meeting Jazz and Jason since they were like...... toddlers)
Before I can muster more than a little nod, Jasmine grabs my hand. “I’m gonna show Alex around, okay Dad?”
To my surprise, Dad starts to protest, but his brother cuts him off. “Don’t leave the house.”
“I know better than that.” Jasmine rolls her eyes and tugs my hand, already starting to move. “We’ll be upstairs.”
Dad gives his brother a Look, but Jasmine pulls me out of the living room before anything else can be said. I bite back the irritation that wants to rise up. The sooner I go along with her, the sooner hopefully Dad will cave and let us leave.
Jasmine leads me up a flight of stairs to the second floor. “I’m sure you’re not terribly enthused with a house tour,” she says once we’ve both reached the landing, “but it was the best excuse I could think of to get us out of there.”
I raise an eyebrow at her. “And that was necessary why?”
“C’mon Alex,” Jasmine says, poking my nose. “Don’t tell me you would rather be hanging out with our dads.”
I’ll never admit it out loud, but I would probably rather still be by Dad’s side then up here alone with a cousin I haven’t seen since before I can remember. At least with him I know exactly where the lines are drawn.
“Exactly.” Jasmine misinterprets my silence and grins at me. “C’mon. I have some…thing I want you to see.”
I’m instantly suspicious, but Jasmine has a hold of my hand again, and I don’t want to make a scene by trying to get free.
This time, it’s just a short walk down the hall before Jasmine pulls a rope to open a hatch in the ceiling and lower a ladder. “After you,” she says, never losing that too-innocent smile.
“Why,” I say as dryly as possible, “do I have the distinct feeling I’m being mugged.”
“No faith,” Jasmine sighs over-dramatically. “Also don’t say that in earshot of your dad, he might have a heart attack.”
Sounds like Dad, to be honest.
“And anyways, I’m pretty sure you have nothing worth me mugging, so quit the skepticism.”
I don’t move, save raising my eyebrow again. Jasmine sighs. “Please.”
Sooner you play along, sooner you can leave. I barely refrain from sighing, and grab the nearest rungs of the ladder.
I’m not entirely sure what I expected from the attic, but it certainly wasn’t anything like the cozy space I emerge into.
“See?” Jasmine says as she hauls herself up the last few rungs and onto the carpet. “No mugging zone, I promise.”
I give her a deadpan look, which she ignores as she hops back to her feet and starts towards one of the windows. “Watch the Legos,” she warns. “Nick’s awful at cleaning up after himself.”
As I carefully stand, watching the floor for the aforementioned hazards, Jasmine opens a window. A moment later, a boy our age tumbles through the window. “Why couldn’t I just meet in your room?” he grumbles as he regains his feet.
“Because God knows the neighbors will talk if they see a boy going through my window,” Jasmine replies.
“Oh, like me sitting on your roof is any better,” the boy retorts.
“Anyways,” Jasmine says, pointedly changing the subject, “Alex, this is Jason, neighborhood relative nuisance and childhood friend. Jason….” She waves her hand vaguely, “you know Alex.”
Oh great.
But unlike Jasmine, who immediately jumped to long-term familiarity, Jason shoots me a grin and a wave. “Nice to see you again man.”
… As far as first impressions go, I like him.
Unfortunately, he quickly dashes those first impressions as he turns back to Jasmine. “Now will you please tell me what’s going on? It’s not like you or the rest of your family to be so… secretive.”
“Uncle Jared didn’t want Alex getting overwhelmed by everything at once,” Jasmine explains.
“And that’s the thing!” Jason throws up his hands. “Why is he—sorry dude, why are you here? Last I knew, you were still living with your grandpa.”
Jasmine hisses at Jason, but I answer for myself. “Grandfather died.” Despite my best efforts, my voice sounds brittle in my ears.
The instant regret radiating from Jason is tangible as he looks at Jasmine, seemingly gauging her reaction. “I’m… sorry man,” he finally says.
The scoff leaves my throat before I can stop it. “No you’re not.” Jason starts to respond, but now that I’ve started, I can’t seem to stop speaking. “I know you all hated him. So don’t—don’t give me that.” I can’t stand the twin stares on me, and whirl away. My hands are shaking though, and I don’t want to risk the ladder while I’m unsteady like this. Lord knows how Dad would freak out if I happened to slip and fall.
Instead, I do my best to put distance between us. There’s a padded little bench situated underneath one of the windows, and I collapse on one end of it, gathering my trembling limbs close.
For a few moments, silence reigns in the attic. I’m certain if I looked up right now, Jasmine and Jason would be locked in one of those heated silent discussions that seem common in this family.
Eventually, the cushion shifts as one of them takes a seat at the other end of the bench.
“Look, Alex.” It’s Jasmine, her voice surprisingly gentle. “You—You’re not wrong,” she admits. “But can you really blame us? He kept you from us for most of your life, and refused to let even your dad visit you.”
I swallow hard, not looking up from my knees. Jasmine doesn’t need to know I’ve been questioning everything Grandfather’s told me since he died. Instead, I counter, “And you would have done the same thing if things had been reversed.”
“Yeah, cause it’s what your mom wanted.” This time it’s Jason that speaks.
“What?”
“Jason,” Jasmine says warningly.
Jason continues regardless. “I mean, the second she found out that star-touched thing was basically a cult, she got the fuck out of dodge.”
“Jason,” Jasmine hisses. “Dad told me not to say anything till Uncle Jared did.”
My mind has gone whirling at Jason’s words. As far as Grandfather told me, nobody on Dad’s side of the family was star-touched. And nobody outside of those that were knew anything about it, so how did these two even know the phrase?
“How,” I say slowly, “do you two know about that?”
Jasmine gives Jason a hard look. Jason groans. “Fuck, Uncle Jared is gonna kill us.”

Your Baby - Teen Wolf Preferences
Stiles
Tumblr media
‘Aw look at at the little duck.’ Stiles babbled, making shadow puppets on the wall.
Your one year old daughter Isabelle loved her daddy’s shadow puppet show, so she giggled and clapped excitedly before standing on wobbly legs.
‘Come to me Izzyyyy!’ Stiles growled, moving his hand.
Baby Iz was just figuring out how her legs work, and you and Stiles were working on her walking.
She looked at the distance with a frown, but a quick “Wa Wa! Come here!’ from Daddy made her giggle and take the first step.
‘(Y/N), get the camera.’ Stiles said urgently.
You quickly pulled out your phone and hit record, this would be the furthest she had walked so far.
‘Go on Izzy you can get there.’ you encouraged when she started to stumble.
She balanced herself and clumsily closed the distance, leaning against the wall.
‘Aw you did it!’ you praised.
‘Mr. Duck is so proud and happy to see you, he could eat you up. Couldn’t you Mr. Duck?’ Stiles asked.
‘Yes she is so sweet looking like candy.’ he voiced, making a “chomp” noise, making the shadow bite at Izzy.
Unfortunately, Isabelle hadn’t been expecting it was so frightened by the sudden attack she let go of the wall and down she went.
‘Oh my God!’ Stiles panicked as he quickly picked her up.
‘Stiles!’ you gasped, rushing over to them.
‘I didn’t know our daughter was so easily frightened, thank God we moved. She’d have a heart attack in her nursery in Beacon Hills.’
Scott
Tumblr media
You were in the kitchen making the table for breakfast, waiting for your husband to come down with your son Alex.
Scott came down looking very tired, but empty handed.
‘Where is Alex?’ you asked.
‘Playing with his toys, refusing to listen to me.’ Scott grumbled before kissing your cheek.
You sighed, Alex was in his terrible twos and since Scott was so forgiving in his nature Alex gave him more hell than you.
‘I keep telling you to be more stern.’ you said as you made him a plate.
‘I am stern.’ he tried.
‘Not stern enough, I’m gonna get him and tell him to apologize and you will let him know you will not be disobeyed. Understand?’ you demanded more than suggested.
‘Yes ma’am, I love it when you get bossy.’ he grinned.
‘Oh hush.’ you laughed as you went upstairs to get Alex.
Your son was in his room playing with the Lego Star Wars set Stiles had given him for his birthday.
‘Why aren’t you downstairs eating breakfast?’ you asked.
‘I’m playing.’ he said.
‘I didn’t ask what you were doing, I asked why you disobeyed Daddy and didn’t come down for breakfast.’
Alex looked down in guilt.
‘Your Daddy loves you and wants the best for you Alex and sometimes that’s not what you want. Now I don’t mind making you do what you have to, but Daddy likes seeing you smile too much.’ you explained as you picked him up.
‘You really upset him when you don’t listen, Alex. Go and apologize.’ you instructed as you sat him down once you were down the stairs.
Alex ran down the hall to the kitchen.
Just as he entered the kitchen a loud roar echoed through the house.
Alex came running right back to you with tears in his eyes. but he seemed too scared to cry yet.
‘Oh my God.’ you gasped as your son clung to your leg.
‘Scott!’ you yelled.
‘Too stern, that was way too stern.’ Scott replied before he rapidly apologized to his terrified toddler.

It was Saturday and your family decided to eat out tonight.
Jackson being who he was had picked the nicest place in town, unfortunately your daughter Adena didn’t care about that at all.
The lighting was too dark or the live music was too noisy, whatever it was she was not happy and the whole restaurant knew it.
She was screaming her head off, yelling, not a tear in her eye, just yelling.
‘Give her something, people are starting to stare.’ Jackson whispered.
‘They’ve been staring, now they’re glaring. I’ve given her every toy in the diaper bag, she’s just being fussy.’ you replied.
‘What about paper? She loves paper.’ he suggested.
‘I don’t have any.’ you groaned.
‘I’m so sorry, I understand that you’re trying, but the other customers are starting to complain.’ the waitress said apologetically.
‘OK let’s try this.’ Jackson said as he pulled out a few bills and you thought he was going to try to bribe the poor girl.
Surprisingly enough he handed the money to Adena.
Even more surprising was that your daughter immediately stopped yelling and took the money.
‘I can not put into words how concerning that is a father.’ Jackson sighed.
‘We’ll deal with that later, for now lets just enjoy the peace and quiet.’ you smiled.
‘While it last.’ Jackson added.
Aiden
Tumblr media
So your daughter looked nothing like Aiden or you for that matter, but put her next to your dad and you couldn’t tell them apart.
The fact that she also happened to be on the chunky side, like you and your dad both were just sealed Katie’s fate.
Still she was the most beautiful girl in the world to you and Aiden, and most importantly, to herself.
You had never seen so much confidence in a four year old.
Tonight was Family night and your parents were over for dinner and like always Katie and your dad were going to give a show before you all would relax in the living room.
‘So Katie, what song are you gonna sing tonight?’ you asked as you took up the empty plates.
‘It’s a surprise, but it’s gonna be our best show yet.’ she said excitedly as she hopped out of her chair.
‘The best.’ your dad agreed as he too stood up.
He took Katie’s little hand and went upstairs.
‘Where are you going?’ Aiden asked.
‘We gotta put on our outfits.’ Dad answered.
‘Outfits?’ your mom asked.
After you had the dishes in the dish washer your daughter called from outside the kitchen.
‘Everyone close your eyes and don’t open til I start singing.’
You rushed to your seat next to Aiden and closed your eyes.
‘We’re ready.’ you called.
You heard shuffling before an unforgettable tune started.
‘I-I-I...don’t want a lot for Christmas.’
You opened your eyes and lost your mind at your Dad and Daughter in matching candy cane sweaters and your dad in a horrid blond wig.
‘Oh my God!’ you cooed.
‘There is just one I need.’ Dad came in.
As the two sang and danced your husband whispered in your ear.
‘You made a beautiful star (Y/N).’
‘I had a little help.’ you smiled taking his hand in yours.
Liam
Tumblr media
You were a dog person, obviously, you married a werewolf after all.
You had your dog Simon for five years and he was your good boy, problem is your son Nial didn’t like sharing attention.
But he was also very impressionable, he seemed to have the thought process that if Simon could do it he could do it cuter.
Last week Liam had to explain that humans don’t pee outside like dogs do.
You had just managed to get your son out of the tub after a quick reprimand and put on his pull up when Liam walked in.
‘How was he today?’ he asked before he kissed you.
‘Less than behaved, he threw a fit in the store, wouldn’t put his toys away and refused to get out the bath.’ you said tiredly.
‘Little man front and center.’ Liam said.
Nial looked down as he walked to stand in front of his father.
‘What have I told you young man?’
‘Listen to Mommy.’ the boy mumbled
‘That’s right, now go to bed.’
Your son walked over to the corner were sweet innocent Simon had been laying.
Nial swatted at Simon until the dog got up.
He smugly laid in the dog’s bed.
‘Nial!’ you started to scold, but Liam stopped you.
‘It’s cute.’
You wanted to argue, but when you saw how Simon simply laid next to Nial, curling around the child.
‘This time, this time it’s cute.’ you conceded.
Isaac
Tumblr media
When you told Isaac you were pregnant you had both been fresh out of community college, living in a horrid apartment.
You had thought he would say it wasn’t the time, or that he wasn’t ready.
Isaac just held you promised everything would fine.
He more than doubled his efforts to find a better paying job, he spent half a check on baby books for you. When he did find a better job he started putting the money away.
By your third trimester, with the help of a friend from college who was in real estates, you and Isaac had found a nice little house with two well sized rooms and bathrooms.
And once your little girl Emily was born you knew for sure that Isaac had kept his promise.
You recall that promise every time you see the way he looks at your daughter, like she was his world and he tear the universe apart for her.
'(Y/N)? What are you looking at?’ Isaac asked as he played with Emily in his lap.
‘Nothing, its just... you are an amazing father to your kids.’ you smiled.
Isaac made a confused face for a second.
‘Kids? We only have the one kid.’ he said.
‘Kids, Isaac.’ you smiled, placing his on your stomach.
‘Are you...?’ he asked with wide eyes.
‘I am.’ you said with a watery eyed smile.
He smiled brightly before he kissed you, when he pulled back he looked down at Emily excitedly.
‘You’re gonna be a big sister Em!’ he cooed.
The one year old giggled happily as she threw herself into his arms.
Peter
Tumblr media
You almost doubted your daughter had a single one of your genes.
She was one hundred percent Peter Hale.
In her looks, her mannerisms, and especially her attitude.
She was a very opinionated child, much to yours and Peter’s dismay sometimes.
It was his turn to get her dressed today, and she was giving him hell like always and it was hilarious.
‘You have to put on a shirt.’ Peter argued.
‘Why?’ Amanda asked.
‘Because I said so.’
‘Why do you say so?’ she challenged.
‘Because I’m the parent and if I say you need it then you do.’
Amanda stomped her little foot and knocked a pillow off her bed.
‘No throwing fits, big girls don’t do that.’ you scolded.
‘Big girls can make choices and I choose not to wear a shirt.’ she pouted.
‘Well this isn’t a democracy, pick up the pillow and let me put you shirt on.’ Peter ordered, frustrated with his child’s stubbornness.
Amanda picked up the pillow and threw it at him before turning to stomp off.
Your eyes widen in shock, that was the most disrespectful thing she had ever done.
Before you could begin to yell at her to get back here, Peter had thrown the pillow at her, making her fall.
‘Peter! you yelled as you ran to pick up your now crying child.
‘Normally I’d baby you Amanda, but you were wrong this time. Now go put on your shirt and go to bed, we’ll talk about punishment tomorrow.’ you said as you carried her back to her room.
You took the shirt from Peter and put it on her.
‘In the bed.’ you said before cutting off the light as you and Peter left the room.
‘I shouldn’t have gotten angry.’ he groaned.
‘You shouldn’t have, I know she is frustrating but that’s no excuse.’ you replied.
‘Did she have to come out just like me, she couldn’t have half your personality?’ he asked.
Jordan
Tumblr media
You knew every parent felt this way, but you thought your daughter Venus was the sweetest child on earth.
She was the spitting image of Jordan and had all his sugary sweetness too.
‘Look Mommy, I put on my own pull up!’ Venus said proudly, causing you to turn away from the closet.
‘You sure did.’ you smiled.
‘Is Cupid taking a bath next?’ she asked pointing at the golden retriever.
‘Not today, but tomorrow Daddy is giving him a bath.’
‘He can use my towel!’ she cheered.
She ran over to the dog and covered it with her ducky towel.
‘Its my favorite one so don’t chew the duck part, OK.’ she said while petting the dog.
‘He won’t, I promise.’ Jordan said as he came in, still in uniform.
‘Daddy!’ Venus shouted as she ran to him.
He picked her up and kissed her cheek.’
‘Were you good today?’
‘Always.’ she said with her chest puffed out.
‘Good, and were you good today (Y/N)?’ he asked you.
‘Never.’ you grinned before kissing your husband.
‘Just the way I like you.’ he whispered so Venus wouldn’t hear.
Theo
Tumblr media
When you told Theo you were pregnant he almost immediately moved you out of Beacon Hills and to a little country farm house.
Apparently where he once stayed with the dread doctors.
Out of the way, but close enough to town that making trips won’t be super inconvenient.
Your daughter Anna seemed take to farm life as soon as she was born.
She played with toy garden tools, and loved all the animals.
Anna was also adorably clumsy, her top half seemed too heavy for her to carry sometimes. Teaching her to walk had been a miracle.
‘Come, it’s your day to feed the chickens.’ Theo said, holding up the bucket of food up.
‘Yay, chickens!’ she cheered running to you.
You picked her up and you all headed to the chicken coop.
You sat her down and Theo held her hand as they went up the steps.
The chickens crowded her, but she wasn’t a bit scared.
‘Feed them.’ Theo encouraged.
Confidently she took the smaller bowl from the bucket of bird feed and filled it and threw some of it to the chickens, unfortunately she leaned forward a bit an lost her balance.
‘Oh goodness!’ you panicked as you helper up.
‘I’m OK.’ she assured.
‘How about I pick you up and you throw the food down.’ Theo offered.
‘I can’t pet the chickens from that high.’ she pouted.
‘Will you fall again?’ you asked.
‘...yeah.’ Anna confessed.
‘I’ll keep an eye on her.’ Theo sighed.
‘I’ll get the first aid kit.’ you added.
Derek
Tumblr media
So giving birth sucked so much worse than you thought it would, but you had no regrets.
You loved your son Nick.
So did Derek.
You looked at all the toys in his nursery and you just knew you were gonna have to keep Derek from overly spoiling him.
Your son was only three months, but he seemed to agree that less was more. He preferred to play with your set of keys as opposed to the hoard of light up toys Derek bought.
Though he did sleep with the stuffed wolf toy Derek gave him his first night home.
Derek had wanted to get a new photo of Nick for his phone background, because he was that Dad.
He had the baby on the couch, propped up.
‘Look this way Nick.’ Derek smiled.
‘Derek, he’s sleepy.’ you said.
‘But I need a new photo.’ he pouted, accidentally taking a photo.
The loud clicking noise startled the child so much he just toppled over.
‘Aaawww! Nick!’ you swooned.
‘I wish I had that on camera.’ Derek said as you picked up the baby.
‘Maybe I could try it ag-’
‘Don’t you dare.’
