Trick or Treat~!
Pairing: Che'nya x Floyd (could be read platonically or romantically)
Summary: It's finally Halloween night, but Floyd is in a bit of a slump. However, the arrival of a curious companion may just make the Halloween party a bit more interesting for him.
Notes: This is my first attempt at something following a prompt - specifically, "Trick or Treat" for the 2023 TWST Rarepair Halloween event. I'm trying to get more comfortable/practiced with writing prose (which is why this wasn't posted on the 30th... oops), and only vaguely ended up following the prompt. I'm fairly happy with how this little piece turned out, though!

Floyd wanted to take a break.
It was Halloween, and all he had done the entire week was work, work, work. Getting costumes ready, decorating, helping with their dorm's presentation, plus cooking and serving at the Lounge, all on top of normal classes?
Sure, it was fun, especially getting to show off Octavinelle's cool setup, and 'taking care of' those misbehaving visitors. But now? Everything felt draining and boring, and Floyd simply wanted to leave, which sucked because the actual Halloween party had just started!
Maybe he should just ditch and go back to his dorm; being in a funk when everyone else is having fun around you is not enjoyable. He slumped down on a bench and unwrapped a sweet he had picked up earlier, before wrapping it up again. Ugh, not even in the mood for that candy he wanted only a few minutes ago.
As he shoved the sweet back into his pocket and was about to get up from the bench to leave, Floyd heard a rustle behind him. Someone was quietly humming, and… laughing? The sound gradually moved to his side, towards the empty side of the bench.
“Trick or treat~”
Floyd turned to face the voice. "Listen, man, I'm not in the mood to—” he froze, staring at the figure beside him. “Hang on a second, where's your body!?"
A toothy smile came to the face of the head that currently floated beside Floyd. "Oh, it's here.... or maybe it's there." A pair of hands materialized on either side of this boy's head, followed by the rest of his body.
“I'm just kidding. Mind if I take a seat? I’d like to rest up before I keep purrowling around and startling people.”
Floyd blinked, then raised an eyebrow. “Uh, go for it.”
This guy was... weird, and it was hard to tell if he'd be annoying, or interesting. "You don't go here, do ya? At least, I’ve never seen you before. And you’re no ghost, either.”
The cat-like boy shook his head, his jewellery jingling softly. "I'm just passing through for the festivities and collecting treats. Scaring some people, too. That’s loads of fun. And it's always nice to see my friends let loose."
Floyd had a vague memory surface. "Ohh... you must be that RSA boy who's friends with Sea Turtle and Goldfishie."
"'Sea Turtle' and 'Goldfishie', hey? Those are good names for my green and red friends. Cats are known for liking fish." He leaned forward, his grin growing. “Artemiy Artemiyevich Pinker. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Floyd nodded, “Floyd Leech. It's nice to meet you, too.” He looked curiously at the boy beside him, taking in his shaggy hair, piercings, and impish smile.
"You're not what I expected.” Floyd smiled, "But you seem fun, Catfish. I didn't think Goldfishie would get along with someone so... interesting."
Che'nya's eyes lit up slightly. "Catfish? Heh heh heh, most people call me Che'nya, but I guess that works. And I’ve heard some… interesting stories about you, too."
He stretched his legs out in front of him, leaning back with his arms behind his head as he sighed. "But yeah, I don't think Riddle could shake me if he tried."
"I'm almost jealous." Floyd tipped his head slightly. "Most of the time, Goldfishie likes to swim away before I can play with him."
Che'nya laughed, "Well, if you're wondering, he 'swam off' that way." He pointed off to the side. “Just don’t be rough with him. I don’t like people mistreating my friends.”
Floyd looked off into the crowd where he had pointed, and let out a small laugh. “Alright, good to know. Maybe I’ll find him later, if I feel like it”, he smiled and sat back. “And Goldfishie’s stronger than he looks, but I guess you’d know that.”
Che’nya nodded, then leaned closer with a mischievous glint in his eye. "You know, I bet we could do something that would really surprise him.”
Floyd turned slightly towards Che’nya, and flashed a smile. “Yeah, we probably could. I think we should talk more in the future, Catfish. You seem pretty fun.”
Che’nya grinned, “You seem pretty fun, too.”
"Well,” he stretched his arms above his head. “I think I’m going to go and find some more treats… and play some more tricks tonight. I'll catch you around, Floyd."
With a haunting giggle echoing in his ears, Floyd watched as the boy beside him faded into nothingness, just the same way he had arrived.
What a weird guy.
Floyd unwrapped the candy he had pocketed earlier, then popped it into his mouth. Maybe this party was worth staying at after all.

Hello, Ryker, and good day! Congratulations on your milestone and your event - you certainly deserve it! I'm always curious about people's interpretations in matchups, so I thought I may send one in to you!
First, to introduce myself - you can call me Henry or Krenenbaker, and I use any pronouns.

Moving onto a little more about me: I like quite a lot of things - the world is full of so many curiosities! I enjoy my hobbies which I've listed below, as well as board games (especially Carcassone and Clue), cats, tea, music, historical dress and food history, languages and linguistics, film (mainly film history) and the performing arts, and simply learning new things!
There are only a few things I truly, deeply dislike. I dislike large crowds, as well as the sensation of falling - both freak me out. But I also really dislike people who consistently display rude, brash, and boistrous behaviour. Additionally, I find that I get tired of people who have too much energy rather quickly; I don't dislike them, they just wear me out.
My hobbies generally centre around creation in one form or another:
Cooking and baking
Fibre Arts (knitting, crochet, embroidery, needle lace)
Sewing
Playing music (especially clarinet and singing)
Dance
And recently, some writing and visual art as well!
I usually prefer people who are hard-working, witty, caring, and who appreciate terrible jokes and puns (hearing them and/or telling them). I'm also not a very sport-oriented person, so I can have a hard time connecting with people who have athletics/sports as one of their major interests. I'm much more drawn to the more creative or artistic types. Additionally, I'm quite short, standing at a whole 157cm (u_u), so I tend towards people who are closer to my height. Height differences are alright, but they can also be very annoying in some situations!
As for my love languages, physical touch and quality time are the love languages I most like to receive. I also like giving words of affirmation ^w^ However, even though it isn't an official one, food is maybe my biggest love language. Making food and sharing it? Best way to show I love someone. Being matched with someone who is appreciative of cooking or the culinary world would be especially nice!

Thorns
Pairing: Malleus x Riddle
Notes: This is for the fifth day's prompt ("Thorns") of the 2023 TWST Rarepair Halloween event. This is LATE, but is getting posted. It's also only... vaguely about them, being more of a general poem reflecting two similar, but opposing individuals.

Both different, yet connected; closely tied.
Secluded wither, but supported, thrive.

A balance - summer's heat, and winter's snow.

This little piece is partially based on this post (which I have been thinking about since I first saw it!!), and my need for more MalleJade content in this fandom. This one's for you, Quinn! ♡

It's become their routine, meeting under the moonlight.
It isn't that their relationship is exactly secret; those who know, know. Malleus and Jade don't feel the need to proclaim it to the world, but they also don't feel any need to hide it. Their nighttime walks, their dates under the stars are simply what they prefer.
It's how their relationship started, meeting under the moonlight.
Both had a habit of spending time around the school after the sun had set. Wandering alone, observing the world as it slowed down. Until one evening, they met. And from then on, they began wandering together instead.
They made their own world, meeting under the moonlight.
The dark is comforting. The cold, familiar to them both. And the silence of the night envelops them, making the otherwise busy campus into their own private world. The stars, the wind, the moon, and each other as their only company.
They learned from each other, meeting under the moonlight.
The world becoming illuminated in new ways with every conversation. Sharing their interests and passions, pointing out a feature the other would have never noticed otherwise. Learning to see their surroundings through the other's eyes; the littlest plants, and the tiniest details in gargoyles. Eventually, they learned about each other, too, becoming drawn closer together with each starry night.
And they found love, Jade and Malleus, meeting under the moonlight.

I didn't expect to like a pumpkin so much.
But the way it makes you so confident is incredible. I've seen your excitement and fire a few times, but you usually keep it shrouded beneath a different demeanour.
It's interesting; tonight, it seems that pumpkin is both your helmet and your shield. It's giving you the confidence to be out, talking with people. I found you here as I was looking for Malleus, with you excitedly speaking with him and Rook, and standing as strong as a true knight... And I would know what that looks like.
But... I wonder what you'd look like standing beside me. Especially when you're like this: confident. Tall. Full of fire. Not flustered, like you always are when you're around me.
Maybe your costume is giving you some sort of special powers tonight. Or maybe it's just allowing you to show your true self, the one underneath that nervousness you hide behind.
I didn't expect to like a pumpkin so much.
But I think I like what's beneath it even more.

Ikevil Character Song Associations
These songs are all mostly based on the first impressions and vibes I've got from the characters, so there may be some songs that don't fit as well as they could.

William
Solar Waltz - Cosmo Sheldrake
I’m not sure what it is, but this feels like a very William-esque song to me. The waltz form has a certain poise in the same way that William does, and the lyrics’ themes - though I don't know him very well yet - in my mind, suit him.

Harrison
Green - Kera & The Lesbians
This one is more based on genre / vibe than lyrics, but they still fit. Harrison feels like he exudes this kind of moderate-tempo, mostly relaxed energy that this song also has.

And it says: There’s somethin’ wicked in you”
Liam
Curses - The Crane Wives
Liam’s a bit playful and always presents in a positive manner, despite how dark his internal world is. I see a lot of him and his behaviour in both the instrumentals and in the lyrics of this song.

Elbert
Cement - Nicole Dollanganger
This song feels a bit lonely, and the lyrics focus on the preservation of things a person loves and finds beautiful (even to their detriment), which from what I understand about Elbert… fits him to a T.

Alfons
Bourbon Street - Jeff Tuohy
Alfons is quite the hedonist, and this song certainly reflects that. It also is rather relaxed in tempo, while still having a drive behind it - much like Alfons himself.

Some would say I’m a carnal slave
I put my hands on what I crave”
Roger
Schism - TOOL
I can’t think of many genres that would suit Roger better than rock. And this specific song just feels like him. Especially considering the (slight) division that there seems to be between Roger and the other members of Crown…

Jude
Follow Me - Odd Chap, J Fitz
When I see Jude, I immediately think ‘electro-swing’. I just think it matches his energy well! I had a feeling that the lyrics to this one also work well with Jude, though I also am the shakiest on his character, so it may not be the best pick for him.

Ellis
All I Do Is Dream Of You - Faultline, dodie
I’m also a little uncertain of Ellis’ character, but this song has a similar gentleness and… thoughtfulness(?) that Ellis appears to show as well.

Victor
Villainous Thing - Schayfer James
This song could honestly describe the entirety of Ikémen Villains as a game, but seems especially applicable to Victor. It has a surprisingly fun tone, while beckoning you into the darkness at the same time.

Obey Me! Inspired Outfits: Solomon
Now, for the witty sorcerer himself, the last of the character inspired outfits (since I'm - at this point - not putting together outfits for Raphael, Thirteen, Mephistopheles, etc.), our Solomon! This was a pretty simple look for me to come up with, and took inspiration from a few of his outfits (images below, from the wiki)
Included:
Black high-neck shirt
Black trousers
Grey swing coat
Celtic knot necklace
Moon and star necklace
My black heeled boots are almost certainly the shoe I'd pair with this look. I also could have added more necklaces - perhaps my other Celtic knot necklace, and some other necklaces with stone pendants...

Obey Me! Inspired Outfits: Barbatos
Now for the last demon of the game - the brilliant butler, Barbatos! This outfit is mostly based on Barbatos' demon look, though there was a bit of inspiration from a few of his other outfits as well. (Images below, from the wiki)
Included:
Navy blue belted shirtwaist dress
Gold-toned butterfly necklace with pearl
White gloves
Unfortunately, like Satan, Barbatos wears a LOT of teal, and I don't really have any teal clothes. But, since he also wears navy blue, black, and some other dark colours, that's what I went with. Some white heels or possibly dark leather heeled oxfords would be what I would wear with this outfit.

Obey Me! Inspired Outfits: Lucifer
This little look is based on a few different outfits Lucifer wears throughout the game (images below, from the wiki)
Included:
Navy blue dress with white lace trim
Red coat (worn over-the-shoulders)
Red beaded necklace
I didn't include shoes in this photo, but I would have likely worn either navy scandals, or red heels.
While his outfits are mostly black and red, I chose to go with navy, in reference to his human world look (and the blue of his sin, pride), in combination with the red that is common across his other outfits.

Diasomnia Character Songs and Associations
It's finally here! The end of the character songs and associations series! It took a bit longer to get out than I thought it would, but it's now finished.
Here is the seventh dorm, Diasomnia; the dorm of the spirit of nobility. The final of the seven, but also, interestingly, the dorm that started this entire idea.
Notes: Every song is from my liked songs playlist (so feel free to judge me for my taste, haha!) and I only allowed myself to use an artist once for this project. There is also some strong language and mature themes in some of the songs, so be aware if you choose to listen to them. I’ve included:

Malleus Draconia
Represented by: Nymphs Finding the Head of Orpheus - Nicole Dollanganger
This song was actually what inspired me to make this series. It just reminds me so much of Malleus. The narrative setting is similar to the ruins he loves to explore, the music itself is somewhat ethereal, and the lyrics reflect the loneliness Malleus often feels, as well as his fear of loss and change. It's powerful, it's reflective, it's strange, and it's beautiful. Much like Malleus himself.
Listens to: Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550: IV: Allegro assai - W.A. Mozart, Sinfonia Varsovia, Yehudi Menuhin
Malleus likely listens to primarily classical music, and probably knows how to play many of the pieces he listens to. He would especially enjoy the playfulness of Mozart's compositions, as most Mozart pieces (operas, symphonies, etc.) have a light mood, and are usually filled with jokes. Absolutely perfect for a fae prince!
Lilia Vanrouge
Represented by: Phantasmagoria - Polkadot Cadaver
This song feels very Lilia to me. With a focus on (possibly?) playful scaring, and the uncertain or hidden origins of what people see. There's spooks and startles, but is generally meant to be fun... or that's what's assumed. The Avant-Garde metal genre also suits the unique, fun intensity of Lilia's character.
Listens to: After Life in Purgatory - Lock Up
Okay, I know that 'Lock Up' is grindcore, and not the thrash metal that Lilia canonically listens to. BUT he would totally also listen to music like this. It's fast. It's loud. It's full of screaming. Lilia would love it! (And he'd probably somewhat relate to the lyrics of this song too, considering his past...)
Bonus - Suggests for Music Club: Renewal - Veil
Lilia would suggest something like Veil to play in Music Club, arguing that it's more "gentle" and "approachable" for non-metal fans than some other subgenres, which, yes, that may be the case, but still... Cater would be a bit freaked out.
Silver
Represented by: イジメ、ダメ、ゼッタイ - Babymetal
Silver is an interesting character, being both gentle and fierce simultaneously, which is well-encapsulated in Babymetal's music. The lyrics to this song also are akin to Silver's worldview, and his wish for balance, harmony, and connection.
Listens to: Over the Edge - Sarah Jarosz
I think Silver would listen to softer music, probably a lot of folk, bluegrass, and country music. and, like Jade, he would especially love songs about nature and the outdoors. It just seems like it would suit him!
However, I also think he shares a lot of his father's taste in music, resulting in some very strange playlists...

Represented by: Soap - The Oh Hellos
Sebek seems to struggle a lot with his mixed identity, outright rejecting half of his heritage. (I think that's something he will learn to accept at some point in the future, and be able to become even stronger in himself and his identity as a result.) However, Sebek is also a bold, determined individual, and truly cares deeply for those he loves and respects... even if he may not outwardly show it.

Because I think Malleus favours classical string music, I also think that Sebek would believe that he should also listen to similar music (as it is obviously superior!) And while he does enjoy many classical pieces, especially Mendelssohn's compositions, it would probably not be Sebek's preferred music in most situations, even if he does listen to it often.
Bonus - Prefers to listen to: Oscar Wilde Gets Out - Elton John
I'm not totally sure why, but I think Sebek would really like music by Elton John! I think that the softer pop rock sound would be something he would enjoy. Oscar Wilde Gets Out would definitely appeal to Sebek, for the literary allusions and references if nothing else.

Secrets Exposed
Pairing: Cater x Rook
Summary: Halloween is a time of disguises and masks. But for Rook and Cater, it also becomes a time of unmasking
Notes: This is the third day's prompt ("Secrets Exposed") for the 2023 TWST Rarepair Halloween event. I'm trying out a slightly different style again - I think I'll just keep playing around a little with these pieces as I go! I suppose this could be read as platonically and/or romantically, depending on how you imagine the conversation to have gone. Also, it is my firm belief that Cater and Rook share a LOT of similarities, which is reflected here ^w^

They both knew they were hiding something.
They both knew the other was hiding something, too.
What they didn't know, was that they were hiding the same things.
There were glimpses of something different, just brief ones, every time they saw the other across the room, when each thought they weren't being seen.
That in itself was unusual; Cater and Rook were usually both remarkably perceptive and controlled. But the events leading up to this Halloween party - the Magicam Monsters on campus, the party afterwards, the trek through the Spirit Realm, possessions, battles, and now another party - all must have weakened their defenses.
Their costumes were secure, but their masks were slipping... though very few others would be able to tell.
The entire evening both boys chatted with people, grazed on snacks, and danced across the floor, while also dancing around their troubles.
It wasn't until late into this seemingly endless night that they even connected. An outstretched hand and offer of a dance became two, then three, then more. Dancing then turned into discussion, voices gradually softening.
And their walls softened, too. Words came out; things neither would normally admit. Whispers of "possession", "image", "beauty", and "face". Of "past", "friends", "loneliness", "vulnerability", "family", and "love".
Two different versions of the same thoughts.
Their true, hidden selves coming to light with every secret exposed.
Whether it was the stress from earlier, or the atmosphere then, it's unclear. But just for each other, the carefully-crafted masks of both Cater and Rook were lifted the first time that Halloween night.
