gay ass socks (part 4)
hello hello! someone reblogged my last post about these socks earlier and it reminded me to post an update! (thank you to anyone who reads these by the way i appreciate it!!!)
Tumblr media
happy to say that the calf increases worked out very well! my measurements were right on, and the stripes are looking a lot better this time around. i'm also past the point i was at before frogging, it's nice to keep making progress now!
you can't see in this photo but the yarn is just starting to transition from this coral-y shade into the true pink, it'll probably be obvious within the next few stripes! i'm gonna keep going with these until they're over my knee before i start the brioche tops, and that'll probably take a little while, but they're getting there!
not sure yet if i want to decrease back down under the knee, but i'll keep them as they are for now. as long as they're not too loose they should be ok
thanks for reading!

Vintage Patterns are fun, but also kinda weird ( as in unfamiliar). This sock is knitted on three dpn four dpn needles instead of five ( all sts for the instep are on one needle) and the instep is knitted flat and later it will be joined with the heel and sole...i will see how it goes.
But i love the pattern.

Good Omens Cosplay
Furfur's scarf / cravat
A knitting pattern
Tumblr media
In the original costume pictures, Reece very kindly shared, Furfur's scarf is made out of a strip of distressed fabric.
In the final shots of the series, probably due to the colour grading, it looks a lot darker and more like a seed stitch knitted scarf. It inspired me to knit one for myself.
Maybe it's useful for your cosplay or for some everyday Furfur bounding.
Tumblr media
You need:
Yarn: 1x Scheepjes Metropolis in the colour Depok approximately £7,-
Or any 50gr / 200m skein of fingering weight yarn.
Knitting Needles: 2.75mm / US 2
Pattern:
Cast on 23 stitches
Row 1 - Row 8: Knit all stitches
Row 9 - repeat until desired length: Knit 1 Purl 1 until the end of the row (seed stitch) always starting and ending with a knit stitch.
Knit all stitches of the last 8 rows, bind off and weave in the ends.
You need to be able to wrap the scarf around your neck and knot it in the front twice + extra length to tuck in. I made mine around 140cm / 55 inches
Give it a gentle soak in a wool wash and block evenly.
You can distress the fabric you created or leave it for a polished Earth look.
You're going to be in a Knit 1 Purl 1 Hell loop for a while, but it's totally worth it!
Put Depeche Mode on repeat and sing along, watch Good Omens again (and again) binge watch Inside No. 9 (because you definitely should)
Tadaa: scarf 💚

Now go block some miracles in style, give Shax a fist bump from me and work towards that promotion you so much deserve.

So i’ve perfected my personal sock recipe.
I tried something out with smaller needles for the toe area and reinforcing the ball of the foot with a slip stitch and I LOVE how it turned out.
They’re sooo comfy, warm, and a little supportive. It’s only taken knitting like… 15 pairs of socks to get to this point??
Yarns are Patons Classic Wool Worsted in Brown Mustard and Dark Gray Mix.

It’s finally done!
I tried adding more stitches to the neckline this time and I think it worked
Here’s the link to the pattern I used for the crocheted parts (the ribbing is knitted and the rest is crochet):

Hey y'all! Long time, no post. I've made some projects that I just honestly hated and didn't feel like sharing and I also haven't been knitting or crocheting as much because of school.
But I'm finally back with a finished project. This is a self drafted tank top inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. The yarn I used was awesome, it's cascade pandemonium and I highly recommend it as a summer fiber, it's very light, soft, and breathable and not ropey at all.

i felt so POWERFUL when i finished this top muahahaha 🤣😂 a while ago a 1940s vintage pattern popped up on pinterest that i wanted to knit. i heavily modified it, used my sewing patterns as a reference for each piece, and changed a few things, but i think it worked? ☺️ *happydance*

Cartman hat finished
Honestly I love the knitted puff ball rather than making pom poms since the pom poms I make, no matter how tightly I tie it, will eventually fall apart 💀

i’ve decided i love 9” circular needles!
Tumblr media
this is however the first method i’ve tried that effects my gauge so i’m trying a smaller needle to see if that helps 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hobbies: Knitting
Really, handknitting is a dreamy activity, built into many people's thumbs and fingers by genes already there, itching to display their skills and achievement possibilities.

First time i'm knitting a colourwork jumper. It is very slow process, but i like the pattern. Some floats are too tight and some are too loose...but i'm getting the hang of it ( i think).
I'm participating in the 2024 Stretching MAL by @creationsbyvalorie from A Visit with Nana and Papa podcast over on Youtube.
It is a great way to try out new (and scary) things!

we’re currently in the process of packing up all our stuff to move this month, so that’s why i’ve been a little extra quiet and inconsistent about posting 😅
however, i did manage to finish this cute little cardigan… i spun raw fiber (a blend of camelid, a couple types of wool, and silk i found on ebay!) into yarn, plied it, and then used the yarn to knit this up from a pattern (if you’re interested in the pattern just comment and i’ll link you to it lol).
but it’s now my most favorite cardigan even though i usually gravitate towards neutrals and greens for my clothes. it’s surprisingly warm, too!

Um…something’s not quite right lol
I’ve been working on the neck for so long and now it’s too small so I’ve gotta redo it
Hopefully it’ll work!

Once again, a terrible photo of this project. Unfortunately, the lighting in my dorm is terrible and I run out of sunlight at about 6 pm daily now.
But low quality image aside, here's a little update on my ingrid sweater! The body is joined in the round and I am halfway through the first sleeve. I've run into some trouble on the mock cable section because the chart basically requires me to be a mind reader to follow. Beyond that, the project has been going really well!
