I think Horikoshi definitely has a type;

Bakugou and Izuku: Childhood friends

Kirishima and Mina: Childhood friends(middle school friends)

Himiko and Ochako: not childhood friends BUT! Official artwork and animations released suggesting WHAT IF THEY WERE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS THOUGH

And wait wait, there's more, they also all have seen each other as their own personal hero(or at least in Ochako to Himiko, it's not literal that she sees himiko as her hero, but she ADMIRES HER for her honesty and how she's unafraid to live as herself....togachako is complex)

Reaching; Horikoshi's Way Of Writing Romance.

I really wanted to write about BloodBubbles and GreeNade again. :P

Paralleling

It's no secret BloodBubbles parallels the story into their dynamic,but also Horikoshi's way of writing romance. But,they also parallel GreeNade into their dynamic.

Which I think is interesting. Obviously,I think a lot of things make BloodBubbles its own thing,not just tied to GreeNade,but I think it's important to consider what makes all the romantic relationships similar so we can figure out how Horikoshi writes romance.

When I think of what Kirimina has in common with GreeNade,two major things come to mind.

One,they've known each other for a while,and two,being each other's inspiration to be a hero. Now,what does Kirimina have in common with BloodBubbles? To me,it's the inspiration of being a hero as well.

Toga reminded Ochako of why she became a hero in the first place. To see people smile. Toga lit the flame of her finding herself more than Izuku ever did. (In my opinion,I mean she barely thought Izuku in the speech that was supposedly for him).

That look Ochako has for Toga,where have we seen that look?

Oh,yeah,the gay realization stare™ .

We see BloodBubbles do that a lot,don't we? They have moments that are "strangely" like GreeNade's.

(*I love the fact these deep moments happened as them being their younger self. It's the embodiment of "healing the inner child" and I fucking love it. *)

just some small examples.

But, another thing that really makes them similar is how story elements are out into their dynamics.

Such as,forgiveness.Not "let's sweep this under the rug," no. Taking accountability and genuine forgiveness. Katsuki took accountability,and forgave himself,Ochako is making sure Toga can do the same because she believes she could. Which,is another thing that links GreeNade and BloodBubbles. They both BELIEVE in each other,they don't underestimate each other. (Don't give me that bullshit Katsuki "underestimated Deku," the problem was he couldn't do it no matter how hard he tried.)

There's also a ton of misunderstandings,and once clearing said misunderstandings up,they want to chase/reach for each other knowingly and willingly. I think it's so beautiful that they chased/reached for each other without even choosing to,then saying, "oh,wait,I want to."

Anyways,that's just some stuff I've been thinking about. I have a lot more to write about,because when I was rereading the vigilante arc,there's some things I noticed I want to write about. So,have this in the meantime.

Lol it’s been a while 😭. Sorry bout that. I haven’t been around for several reasons but I won’t bore you with the details. I’ll try to answer all your asks as soon as I can but for now I’ll just do a brief overview on some things:

1. The latest leaks/chapters: honestly nothing really negative for me to say other than the fact that Dabi’s been pulling asspull after asspull in terms of his quirk. Otherwise the Todoroki family arc’s taking an interesting turn, the KiriMina friendship moment was nice, and All Might getting into an armored suit to fight AFO’s pretty dope (tho I find it funny that the former top hero’s about to fight a literal child 😂)

2. MHA Twitter: Apparently a gimmick account called out Dekacchan for her hypocrisy and her victim complex so that was fun to see 😂. The original tweets seem to have ratioed her though there were some of her supporters who were upset that their leader got called out. Her response ended up amounting to “if you don’t like me then block” despite her engaging with people first. She also deleted some of her interactions that the gimmick account screenshotted while also claiming to “not be hiding anything”. This isn’t a good look for her and I’m glad she’s being called out. Will it affect her much? Well she’s starting to censor names and is taking screenshots rather than quote retweeting people so that’s good.

maybe I'm choosing to think that a bkdk implied ending is likely not possible because I'm just so used to the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in media overall, that I made myself believe that every author will think the same and make it the same generic cishet ending

the argument I have towards an implied bkdk ending is "how do we know hori is going to do that? we don't know if he's planning for that ending."

Yes, we can use previous panels that show how close bakugou and midoriya are compared to a ship like midoriya and ochako.

I mean bakugou is literally the only person that made midoriya almost lose control of his power (twice).

And the fact that mirio had to tell midoriya that bakugou was not dead in order for him to not lose to AFO.

And the fact that bakugou apologized to midoriya, and that alone was able to get midoriya to come back to UA (and midoriya's eyes dilating when bakugou used his first name again)

And the fact that shigaraki told bakugou that he's the closest to midoriya, therefore he had to kill him in order to hurt midoriya mentally.

And the whole 37 volume cover (and if you think about it, the reason why that cover doesn't exist, canon-wise, is because midoriya can't look at bakugou's borderline-dead body without losing his shit, because he will lose the battle).

And how midoriya was bakugou's last thoughts and how he wanted to catch up with midoriya with a little smile on his face

And how edgeshot said to bakugou, while trying to heal him, "the one YOU'RE waiting for, deku, will come"

And a little addition, is how kirimina is a little similar to bkdk, where you have kirishima's/midoriya's body moving on their own to protect bakugou/mina, then a couple chapters/volumes later, bakugou/mina doing the same in return (along with midoriya/kirishima telling bakugou/mina that they've always been their hero).

And how one of bakugou's regrets was not holding midoriya's hand that day when they were kids, and we have a little special drawing at the end of S6E23 where bakugou is reaching towards midoriya's hand.

Also, the whole "child (midoriya) hiding behind the tree blushing and admiring their crush (bakugou)" panel when they were kids

Welp I'm not doing any good with my "what if hori doesn't do it" argument, I'm literally contradicting it. All I'm gonna say is "let's see what happens" lol

Arctic cold bnha takes i've seen that make me wanna go feral(in no particular order of how bad they are):

Bakugou didn't traumatize Izuku,Izuku is anxious because that's how Inko is(DEADASS the first episode has Izuku too scared to stand up to Bakugou and they've been consistently interacting with eachother for a bit over a decade,what else could it be?)

The adults in Bakugou's life treating him as a genius but not a child since kindergarten isn't a valid explanation for his ego(Spoiler alert:Yes it is)

M/itsuki isn't abusive to Bakugou because irl moms of colors also beat and degrade their kids

Bakugou defending Uraraka from Kaminari's misogynistic comment during the Sports Festival and saying good things about her afterwards doesn't count as him respecting women

Izuku's muttering and his hero journals aren't (accidental) autistic coding

Momo's character would be better if she were mean and smug about being rich(the second is literal classism,what's wrong with you weirdos)

The blasian Momo headcanon is antiblack because she's one of the most s*xualized bnha girls(nobody draws/edits blasian!Momo without fixing her costume LMAO)

Miruko is irresponsible,an idiot and not feminine(whew chile the colorism!)

It's Rei and Touya's own faults that they hurt Shouto and not E slur's(Spoiler alert 2:Electric Boogaloo:Yes it is.Do ANY of you know how trauma works?????)

Hawks' admiration of E slur HAS to be romantic even though Hawks is literally younger than E slur's oldest child (This one is literally the 'mlm men like younger men' stereotype that gets us portrayed as ped0philes and y'all are perpetuating it over a fucking shonen ship.Go outside)

Dabi and Hawks are best friends(Twice is Dabi's best friend and Hawks murdered him which upset Dabi so much that he nearly killed Hawks with a huge,happy grin on his face.Stop factkinning Jared,19)

Todob*ku is better than B*kudeku(they're is NO difference between how Bakugou treats Izuku and Shouto.He hates both of them and he's not afraid to show it and they both deserve better than that)

Shouto would be possessive of his love interest because of how he never had any friends before Izuku(I actually lowkey like this one but it's almost always used to make him a Nice Guy™ rather than letting his s/o help him with it in a healthy way)

Kirimina and Todomomo became popular because they're het and not because of the friendship's between the characters(Todomomo blew up because of how Shouto was directly a big help in Momo's character development and how Horikoshi keeps showing us that they like eachother as friends which is why we still like it and nobody shipped Kirimina until we got their backstory-which was Mina being just as much of an inspiration to Kirishima as Crimson Riot and Mina helping him with his self-image,which is a lot more basis for a friends to lovers ship than half of the Kirishima ships y'all have)
