The Little Things

ph-1 (Park Junwon/Harry Park) x Idol!Reader Summary: When you’re in a relationship, there are aspects of being single you tend to look over or take for granted. It’s sometimes those things that cause a rift between you and your lover. Word Count: 1k+ Warnings: Fluff, established relationship, lowkey jealousy, kinda a social media au, typos as I have not proofread this, i use y/n 🤢 , etc.

A/N: i hope you see this nonnie and I hope you like it!

It was like a snowball rolling down a snowy mountain. By the time it got down to the slope, it was an enormous boulder, an avalanche. That’s what it felt like on this one lunch date.

It was like a hundred little things came crashing down on us. Things like forgetting to call back, not replying soon enough if replying at all, arriving late, forgetting to heat up lunch, forgetting it’s their turn to buy, all came crashing down when we got the wrong order at the café.

And although it was neither mine nor Junwon’s fault but actually an employee’s error, we had already snapped at each other in the middle of it and found it exhausting to talk to each other. It made my stomach ache after eating.

It would have been fine, had I not had anything to do after our lunch, but unfortunately, I had a long schedule ahead of me that day, and it made me irritable. Thankfully, after a while, my stomach was pacified, but the same could not be said for me and Junwon.

The entire day, we had not talked, nor the day after that, which made it the day after that feel like it was hanging up in the air because we had a special date planned and yet we still hadn’t broken the silence.

Oh well, if he’s gonna be petty about it, I can play petty.

Now I know you’re going to ask, why not just be the bigger person and text him or something. Well, maybe if I was the one that snapped first I would have. Maybe if I was the one who didn’t even bother telling how he felt then maybe I would have been more inclined to break the silence.

Junwon has never been the confrontational type, so if there was something on his mind, he usually just let it slide.

And if something really bothered me, I would tell him.

So the little things that got on his nerves that didn’t bother me began to bother me when he made a fuss about in in the wrong time.

He can take a hint; I’ll make him take a hint.

I was already in the planetarium when I shared this. It was supposed to be a special date, but I was now here alone. It was good we had already split our tickets, or else I would have had to buy another ticker for myself.

I arrived to the place a little earlier than when we would have gone, and was in awe of the place. I have always been so fascinated with the heavenly bodies. I love the stars so much and find joy in knowing we both are made of star dust and shine like them, albeit 1000x lower than the eye can see.

I was having fun for about the first 5-10 minutes of my time here, until I saw something, stopped, and thought, ‘I have to show Harry’. It all kind of went downhill from there.

The place was beautiful and distracting, but It was pretty hard to enjoy myself, when all my thoughts began to be, Harry would like this, OMG Harry would find this so pretty, this is what I was telling Harry, and the classic, it’d be more fun if Harry were here.

Shut up, I am not a simp.

I’m just... lonely.

At this point, I was starting to lose interest in the place as my thought began to get geared so hard into just wanting to call Harry and make up. I think that was why I began to just walk around aimlessly.

That was also why I was taken aback when someone tapped my shoulder, since I was pretty out of it.

I turned around and saw this dude smile at me, “hi.”

I raised my brows and gave a soft smile. This might not end well.

“I, uh, couldn’t help but notice you when you walked in. You look absolutely stunning.”

I chuckle and shake my head, “uh, thank you.”

He nods and places his hand in his pockets, “no yeah, the pleasure’s all mine. I also noticed you weren’t really here with anyone and neither am I, so would you maybe want to tour the rest of the place with me?”

“Eh, actually, I had this day planned out with someone,” I pull my phone up and continue, “I’m about to check up on them right now.”

“Ahh,” he nods, “well, I can keep you company while your friend isn’t here.”

“No, she’s good,” another voice speaks. I am suddenly in Harry’s arms as he throws an arm over my shoulder. He turns to the dude, “her boyfriend’s here now.”

The dude smacks his lips then nods slowly, “okay then. Nice talking to you, babe.”

Junwon throws the guy a look as he walks away, “did that dude really just call you babe?”

I pull him into an embrace, “huhuhu, I should have called you sooner.”

He sighs against me and places his cheek on my head, “I should have called sooner too.”

“Yeah, you really should have.”

I feel the vibrations against my face when he chuckles, “yeah.”

I tighten my arms around him and sigh, “you smell nice.” I pull away and pout, “I’m glad you’re here.”

He gives me a quick kiss on the lips, “me too. I kept getting @-ed by your fans. I was so close to being cancelled.”

I snort. He smiles, “I was checking your stories anyway though, so I knew you were being petty about it.”

I make a face, “you’re talking like you weren’t being petty.”

He pulls me back into his arms and sucks in a breath, “I’m still kinda ticked off on how slow you reply though.”

I chuckle against him and push him off, grabbing his hand, “I’ll reply even slower now!”

He rolls his eyes.

When Ash Island is forced to participate as a producer for the latest season of Show Me the Money, he knows it won't be easy. But when his partner is you, a rising producer from H1GHR, maybe it won't be as bad as he thought.

Show Me the Money X Episode 1 – Round 1: Rapper Selection

The first round of Show Me the Money X is underway. Over 20,000 rappers auditioned, and today they are all gathered at the venue. Contestants rap a cappella in front of one of the producers, who will decide whether or not to give them a necklace.

Countless rappers are lined up in rows or sitting on benches lining the walls, waiting for their turn to be evaluated.

Staff: We will be announcing the next producers to come out now!

All the contestants turn to the large doors at the end of the large space.

Staff: Ash Island and Saf!

Light applause fills the room. Confusion can be seen on many contestants’ faces.

[Contestant 1: Sap? Saf? Never heard of her.]

[Contestant 2: Oh, I know Ash Island! Saf? Sorry, no I don’t know who that is.]

Saf: Well, guess I’ll just have to work harder for them to know me then!

She just laughs it off. Ash Island scoffs.

Ash Island: How many songs did you work on last year? If you work any harder your hands will fall off.

Ash Island and Saf part ways at the door, starting their evaluations on opposite sides of the room. Ash Island greets his first contestant with a bow and motions for him to begin. As he raps, Ash watches him, eyes partially covered by his bangs. The contestant, seeing Ash’s intense gaze, pauses for a moment partway through his rap. Without hesitation, Ash mutters a thank you and moves on to the next contestant.

[Contestant 1: His stare is very intimidating.]

[Contestant 2: He was so good-looking, I got distracted during my rap.]

This pattern continues: rapper begins, rapper makes eye contact with Ash, rapper messes up, Ash moves to the next rapper. Despite some rappers not even making a mistake, Ash still interrupts most of them with a small “thank you” and moves on.

In comparison, there almost seems to be an angelic glow surrounding Saf.

When a contestant makes a mistake, she smiles and nods, encouraging them to continue. With all the contestants she turns down, she still gives them small tips on how they can improve.

[Contestant 1: Even though I failed, she made it not feel as bad.]

[Contestant 2: She was so nice, I think I’m in love.]

Ash Island: Seems like a waste of your time to me.

Saf: No it wasn’t!

Ash Island: Come on, you’re experienced enough as a producer. I bet you could tell within the first ten seconds of their rap if they should pass or fail. Am I wrong?

Saf: No...

Ash Island: So ultimately you wasted both your time and theirs. What’s the point of all the formalities if you’re just going to fail them anyway? Either way, for them, the results are the same.

Saf appears to be contemplating this statement for a while, before finally coming up with a response.

Saf: But why do you consider being nice to people a waste of time?

“What was I even supposed to say to that?” Ash asks his labelmates in exasperation. Leellamarz and Changmo are laughing almost hysterically behind him.

“Man,” Changmo finally breathes. “If the whole world didn’t think you were a terrible person before, they sure do now.”

“Thank you, I really needed to hear that,” Ash deadpans. Why does he keep watching these clips with the guys, again? Oh right, they’re forcing him to.

“And that is why you should never argue with a girl, dude.” Hash gives Ash a solid pat on the shoulder as he says this. Lesson learned: don’t question anything a girl does.

You take a deep breath to calm yourself... then proceed to frantically dial Rohan on your phone.

Knowing what this is about, he answers in a monotone, “What do you want?”

Ignoring the rudeness of his greeting, you continue to freak out. “I can’t do this! What am I going to do? What am I going to say? Can I please, please just go back to the H1GHR studio to work with Haon?”

“Why are you asking me? You’re the one who made plans to meet with Jinyoung,” Rohan points out, using Ash’s real name.

After filming the first episode, you and Ash had decided it would be best for the two of you to get to know each other away from cameras, since you’d be working together for the next couple months. This is how you landed in your current situation, a bundle of nerves, standing outside the building of Ambition Musik.

“Well, I should not be held accountable for any choices I make in front of him. Obviously, I cannot be trusted!” you try telling your best friend.

Rohan sighs. “Why are you acting like this is your first time meeting him? You filmed the preview and the entire first episode together already. Plus, you’re there to talk about music, just treat him like any other artist you’ve worked with.”

“Okay, you’re right,” you take a moment to gain some composure. “I can do this. I can be normal. He’s just another person. There’s no need to freak out.” At this point, you’re not sure if you’re saying this to Rohan or yourself.

“There’s literally no reason you should be this nervous. So get in there, and please hang up. I’d like to eat my ramen before the noodles get all swollen.”

You laugh a little. “All right fine, I’ll see you later.” You get off the phone, feeling a bit better after talking to your best friend. With some of the tension in your shoulders relieved, you enter the building.

“Hi.”

“Do you want some water?”

“No, I’m good.”

“Oh, okay.”

…

Despite the abysmal start, your meetup with Ash was going surprisingly well. Once you were past the awkward small talk and got into your music, conversation flowed much more naturally.

“Whenever I hear this song I think ‘This is the type of music I want to make,’” you express, as your favorite song plays in Ash’s studio. “If I could write the perfect song, it would be something like this. The vocals, the music, the arrangement, everything about it is just so good.”

You let out a wistful sigh. “Too bad I could never come close to a masterpiece like this one.”

“Do you not like the music you’re making right now?” Ash asks, a bit puzzled. Funny, you’ve never really been asked or even asked yourself this question before, and you tell him that.

“It’s not like I hate all the songs I've produced. But I feel like they’ve always been made for someone else. I love working with Haon, I love producing for him. But ultimately, even with my name in the credits, it becomes his song. It’s all about his performance, his interpretation. Once it leaves the studio, it’s not mine, it’s not my music anymore. You know what I mean?” You’re not sure if all this is even making any sense. You’ve been rambling for so long, is he even listening at this point?

However, when you look up, he’s looking at you very intently. “Yeah, I get it. I felt that way on High School Rapper back then, and even now sometimes when I’m working on a song. I get caught up in thinking if people will like it, if my fans will like it, if it’ll chart well. But the whole point of your music is that it should be an expression of yourself. So when it’s not, it feels almost wrong.”

“Exactly.”

“Well, now’s our chance,” he begins. “It’s just you and me, with over 100 rappers to choose from. We can make whatever music we want.”

When you make eye contact, neither of you even realize you’re smiling at each other.

slightly giggling at your response, you immediately imagined your best friend clicking his tongue in annoyance and rolling his eyes. reaching into the dusty chip bag, you plopped a chip into your mouth, crunching down onto the tasty snack happily.

a sudden knock interrupted your eating, stopping mid bite to stare at the door, frozen. feeling as if you had gotten in trouble already as two security guards quite literally hauled you over their shoulder and told you to stay put in a dark room, you were even more terrified at the fact of you getting caught eating someone else’s snacks. the door swung open anyways, eyes meeting with a sweaty but even more handsome up close, jay park, and behind him was the mystery boy you had caught watching you perform in the freezing cold - the boy you now knew as woo wonjae.

both were so handsome and their aura’s felt too powerful, yet your only focus was set on the boy wearing his signature black beanie with his curls beautifully tucked under.

jay park raised an eyebrow at your puffed cheeks and red face, chuckling.

he and wonjae took a seat on the couch, both watching you with intense eyes for two different reasons.

you cleared your throat. “s-so why am i here?”

jay smirked, obviously amused at your stuttering and the reason only he and wonjae knew.

“well, i am here because my little friend here,” he threw an arm around wonjae’s tense shoulders. “seems to have taken an interest in you.”

you gaped, taken back at the brave statement. you gulped, peeking up at the nervous woo wonjae who couldn’t seem to take his eyes off you. he coughed lightly, averting his gaze as his cheeks turned into a pink hue.

“well-!” jay stood up, his smirk turning wider. “i guess i’ll just leave you two to it!” he walked over to the door, leaving without a single speck of hesitation in him.

the air was silent - uncomfortable even.

wonjae placed his hand onto his knee, knee shaking in nervousness. he gulped at the awkward moment.

he nodded lightly, smiling as he remembered your face so filled with warmth and love. it was obvious performing was your passion and he couldn’t help but want to keep that expression always on your face.

“and you saw me saw you performing.”

you chuckled, humming. you licked your lips, stretching out your dominant hand.

“i’m y/n. nice to meet you.”

wonjae’s lazy grin appeared, hair slightly in his eyes. he suddenly didn’t feel nervous anymore, and instead, felt comfortable as he felt himself already getting used to your pleasant presence. he took your hand, shaking it lightly.

“woo wonjae. nice to meet you, too.”
