just seeing him in the quad and feeling the excitement flow through your veins, energy pumping into your bones more and more by the second. and you smile so endearing when you call out his nickname, watching him turn in your direction incredulously because no one else calls him that.

oh, and when he sees your face? never have you seen someone's eyes light up like that. he's all toothy as his gorgeous smile takes over his previously stoic expression, and you both stand with wistful eyes.

you only stand for a second longer before you take off running to him, ignoring the confused looks of his friend's faces as you jump into his arms. your legs wrap around his waist, and you can tell he registers that you're real when his arms wrap tightly around you. he buries his face in your neck, and you're both crying and laughing.

Y'know, something I really like about the smg4 fandom us that none of us really have a heartstopping amount of likes or fame. We're all kind of just a small fandom that shares our silly lil doodles n' maybe masterpeices that take hours of work, kinda like a school presentation but fun. Some of us do have large amounts of people supporting us, but mostly all of us just make doodles for fun n' hope we just entertain others. Some fandoms I've been a part of are huge and have tens of thousands of likes or fans, but ones like smg4 just feel like a warmer and more similar leveled place, y'know?

I love forehead touches because like...you know what it means. Especially in visual mediums, if one character goes up to another with a concerned look on their face and feels their forehead, you know what's going down. It's especially fun if like. The character in question hasn't shown any outward signs of not feeling well yet, but clearly the others in the story can see it and know something's up. Even if it's one of those shitty fake outs where they turn out NOT to actually be sick, clearly they look/are acting out of character enough to make the others think they could be sick, which means something else could be going on with them that's worrying, sick or not...

i personally headcanon that Togruti (or whatever the language the Togruta speak is called) is based off of or is very similar to Hindi.

okay ik it’s kinda a long shot but hear me out

for some people who don’t know what Hindi is, it’s an Indian language based off of Sanskrit that is used all over India and is one of the most well-known languages, at least by what i know about it

and most of the Togruta names that we’ve heard so far are (mostly) based off of Indian names, such as:

Ahsoka - the king Ashoka

Shaak Ti - Shakti, the Hindu goddess of creation

Pav-Ti (i may be wrong with this one) - Parvati, another Hindu goddess

i’m not very sure about the goddess

so it kinda makes sense that Togruti is based off of an Indian language as well? or maybe it’s just me idk

and as someone who grew up knowing Hindi and occasionally seeing people in India talk to each other in it i can totally see the farmers on Shili yelling to each other in Hindi

one conversation in particular that annoys me is when black women try to have an honest discussion about how they felt undesired, unprotected, and mistreated by the men of our own race and it’s followed by: “y’all need to just go outside. it was in my fourth grade class when my only other black classmate was mixed and his white mom told him girls like me weren’t cute. That I was too ‘black’ and ‘nappy headed’ despite her husband being my same shade.

it was in my middle school years when the same three boys tormented me constantly, from making fun of the skin tags on my face to my skin tone (even though one was darker than me) even sitting behind me and calling me ugly every chance they got while uplifting lighter skin and non-blk girls. Running to tap on my shoulder to yell ‘he likes you’ only to run away laughing as some sort of insult.

it was in my sophomore year and I moved to a predominantly yt high school, where the handful of blk boys didn’t even look in my direction and when they did, it was only to help get the attention of my nb friends. Or when a guy tried to attack me and my whole group of friends one more and I was the only one not protected because I was ‘strong enough to fight for myself.’ While they jumped to the aid of the white girls. and when the non-blk boys paid me attention, it was only to fetishize or tell me how I was ‘pretty for a black girl’ and that they’d ‘date me if their parents would approve but knew they wouldn’t.’

it was even older men would hit on me and when I’d turn them down, I’d be told I should be ‘lucky somebody likes my black ass.’

I had to learn from a very young age that this world does not view nor respect us and I didn’t do so from behind a screen. We’re just in an age where we have a platform to collectively voice our opinions and share our experiences in hopes to not only help others but heal and speak about it. So rather than gaslighting and trying to quiet us under the premise that we’re ‘too sensitive’ or ‘chronically online’ try this nice little thing call shutting the fuck up and listening to us. It’s a lot of guys I went to school with who are or have already become fathers and they’re gonna have black children (mixed race or not). Raising sons to think that type of treatment of girls is okay and a daughter who’s going to go through that thinking it’s just a part of growing up. We don’t talk about these things because we want half-assed sorry apologies or to even bash black men. We do it because we want the cycle to stop because no little black girl should feel less than her worth, especially at the hands of the ones who should be looking out for us.
