TAG NINE PEOPLE YOU’D LIKE TO KNOW BETTER! I. Favourite Colours: Any shade of green {forest and emerald in particular}, black, silver, garnet. II. Favourite Flavours: Good coffee, deeply brewed tea, dark chocolate, coconut, and a 'scent flavour'... it's gonna either be beef being cooked on a fire, or specific to New Mexico... a crisp/cool afternoon when the sun is bright but not hot and you smell it...smoke, something earthy and green with an almost acidic bite if you breath it in just right. It's chile season, and it's being open roasted in giant metal roasters. And lastly, pinon. III. Favourite Genres: Most fantasy though with a penchant for High Fantasy. True Noir/ Mystery, Horror, History/Alternative History. I do enjoy Romance and Sci-Fi {typically golden and silver age are most often forgotten but truly a guilty pleasure} but tend to prefer them blended with a different genre. Poetry is entirely different and for me it's more like music than narrative fiction, though I do have a soft spot for the Romantics, and the Beat Generation. {You can have my Kerouac and my Ginsberg whence you've pried them from my cold, dead, yaddah yaddah}. And because I am a bastard, I'm going to ruin it all for you: Literally almost any Emily Dickinson poem can be read/sung to the tune of the Yellow Rose of Texas, or the theme to Gilligan's Island. You're welcome. IV. Favourite Music: Classical, Tribal Trap, Country, Grunge, Classic Rock {stfu, G-N-R and them are not YET classic rock}, 80s Rock/Metal. Broadway Musicals, Rap/R&B, really just about anything. Probably my favourite singers are Eddie Vedder {yes, I know}, Geoff Tate who's is utterly incredible even after 40 years. And honestly? Garth Brooks. V. Favourite Movies: SW: The Empire Strikes Back, Tombstone, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Strange Days, Highlander, CA:TWS, Doctor Strange, ST: The Undiscovered Country and just so so so many more. VI. Favourite Series: Constantine, Doom Patrol, Legends of Tomorrow, Supernatural, Babylon 5, Farscape, Loki, ST: DS9/TNG/TOS/SNW {Really all of them except Voyager and Discovery}, Salem, Original Charmed, Witches of East End, Burn Notice, Fargo, Resident Alien, Res Dogs, Longmire, Justified, Dallas {Original and Revival} and Dark Shadows {Original AND Revival}. Family Guy, Bob's Burgers {and Archer}. Robot Chicken. Lastly I'm also going to say the Orville, which yes is a sort of parody of Star Trek, but also an homage, and a surprisingly well written one. VII. Last Song: Paint it Black ~ Ciara cover, Superhero ~ Johnny Hollow VIII. Last Series: Loki Episode 1-Season 2 or American Gigolo Episode 1. IX. Last Movie: The Noel Diary, The Dark Knight trilogy X. Currently Reading: Ten Little Indians anthology by Sherman Alexie, Digitisation and Digital Archiving: A Practical Guide for Librarians {second ed.} by Elizabeth R Leggett, ¡Sin resolver! Misterios de la historia by Dona Herwick Rice. XI. Currently Watching: The Fall of the House of Usher, Loki, Resident Alien XII. Currently Working On: The 500 or so posts I owe across my blogs. So LaGuerra would be the victim of the 4th season of Taiyou no Kou Esteban. But this is the 4th season of The Mysterious Cities of Gold so she’ll most likely survive.

Okay but over the all the seasons, I feel like she would be drawn to people that give no fucks hehe. I think she’d really like Winter Anderson (apocalypse) and Liz Taylor (hotel) and coincidentally I think she’d really like Zoe Benson. I think Zoe and Vi’s characters are pretty similar.

From Murder House specifically, since Ik so many of us are season one stans here, I think Moira. She’d be able to sympathise with her and see the strength in her that other people dismiss.

introduction

Season 1 - Murder House

Episode 1 - Pilot

1978

Far above , the branches twisted like distorted limbs reaching out. The forboding tree reaching out towards you. The open gates, showcasing a gnarled, old looking- house and a young girl standing on the front lawn

CRASH! A sound crashes as someone throws a rock at the window of an abandoned house and shatters it.

Bryan jokes “Hey, Troy. You're a dork.”

“Hey, shut up. Hey, freak.” Troy insults.

On Bryan’s way to the front door, Bryan blows some kisses at Addie who stares back at him, keeping a straight face.

“Excuse me. You are going to die in there.” the mysterious girl warns.

“Shut your mouth, or we're gonna kick your ass!” Troy says,angry at the girl.

Bryan “We got bats.”

Troy moans “I hate trees!”

As they enter the house, Addie chants “You're gonna regret it. You're gonna regret it. You're gonna regret it.”

Troy “Yeah!”

Bryan “Yeah!”

The boys smash everything inside of the house with their bats.

“Troy” Bryan says he looks at the door.

“Awesome, go,” Troy forced.

“No, you go, shithead.” Bryan says, not wanting to go first.

The boys go down the stairs, not knowing the dangers that they are about to face.

“Check it out." Troy pushed.

They find a room full of jars filled with human's and animal's parts. Troy picks up a jar containing an ear and drops it. As a result, it shatters onto the ground.

“It stinks in here. It stinks like shit. You remember last summer when we get the raccoon stuck in our chimney? That's what it smells like. Let's go find it.” Troy says, disgusted.

“No, it smells bad... I'm getting out of here.” Bryan says.

Troy goes further into the room, poping his crackers, while Bryan turns around, up the stairs. Suddenly, the popping stops. Bryan stops his ascension.

"Troy? " Bryan questions.

(A bottle rolls across floor)

"Troy? Who's down there? Cut it out, Troy. Cut it out." Bryan asks again, scared.

Bryan finds Troy on the ground, his throat slashed while Troy is reaching out to him, unable to utter anything. Suddenly, Bryan turns around and sees a terrifying creature called the infantata, running in their direction.

As a result, Bryan starts screaming bloody murder as Addy simply stars back at the house.

Ugh this is soooo boring, I don't know why my parents aren't divorced already, whatever, it's not like I care.

"Mommmm are we there yet?" I complain.

" We'll be there soon honey. " mom says looking at me from the mirror thing.

Vivien : The light is different out here. It's softer.

Violet : It's called smog.

Ben : You should be excited, Vi. You can stop sneaking cigarettes and just start taking deep breaths.

Violet : I need to go to the bathroom.

Ben : We're almost there.

Violet : I need to go.

Ben : Vi, it's a freeway. Really, where do you want me to pull over? Maybe the Honda next to us has a bathroom or something.

Violet : Bet if the baby had to piss , you'd find somewhere.

"Hey! Don't call me a baby!" I pouted.

Vivien : Really? Violet, I hate that word, unless I'm saying it.

Ben : I'm really glad we named you Violet, instead of our second choice. Same with you Eve.

Violet : Which was?

Vivien : Sunshine.

"lol, cringe." Violet shoots me a ' wtf' look.

Ben : It's funny. Come on, you gotta admit it's funny.

Currently, we’re at the front of our brand new house and dad is ringing the doorbell.

Ben : I love it. Don't you love it, hon? I mean, it looks even better than it did online.

Vivien : Yeah, it's interesting.

“How about you Evelyn?” Dad asks me.

“I think it’s cool and superrr creepy. :) it’s totally haunted!” I beam while Violet keeps on thinking, ‘why does my sister have to be so creepy?’

Violet : Great. So we're the Addams Family now.

Ben : Hey, crabby pants. Come here.

Vivien : What are you doing?

Ben : Isn't this place amazing?

Suddenly, I see an old looking lady open the door.

Marcy : Welcome. It's a classic L.A. Victorian. Built around 1920 by the doctor to the stars at the time. It's just fabulous. These are real Tiffany fixtures. As you can see, the previous owners really loved this place like a child. They restored everything.

‘Tiffany, in that super cool famous store I see big celebrities like Lady Gaga buy and wear???!’ I think, amazed.

Vivian: Gay?

Marcy : What do you think?

Ben : Tiffany. Wow.

Marcy : Do you cook?

Ben : Viv is a great cook. I got her cooking lessons a few years ago, and she ended up teaching the teacher a few things.

Marcy : Cooking lessons... romantic. Aren't you a psychologist?

Ben : Psychiatrist. You said something on the phone about there being a study that I could use as a home office? I'm planning on seeing patients here, so I can spend more time with the family.

‘That’s kinda cool I guess : I wont have to deal with seeing the patients every day. Privacy, at last.’ I smile, happy at the idea.

Marcy : How refreshing.

(Vivien puts her dog down, and it goes running outside the kitchen, yapping)

Vivien : Violet, honey, would you go see where Hayley we-nt? Oh, never mind. Eve, try not to trip sweetheart!

“Hey fluffy, what’s wrong?” her eyes widen (she just came up with this) “I know! It’s ghost... spooky. 😃” Whoever the ghost was, decided to prank her by tapping her on the head lightly. “ Aaahhhh!!!” she screamed while running into her mothers chest while her mother was confused. Nevertheless, she’s pulled her daughter into a hug. “Mom! This shits haunted, so cool!”

Violet was used to this, username to her sister being obsessed and fascinated with scary things. Violet signed and went up to the dog,” What are you yapping at?”

That was soooo epic! Finally, I get to feel a ghost!!😊😃😀 im watching as the loser attempts to open a random creepy door, oh she’s done it, finalllly. I see her go in a bit and peek inside while she goes down the stairs. it's dark and creepy but whatever cool I guess.

Vivien : This wallpaper is peeling over here. Looks like maybe there's a mural underneath it.

Marcy : The last owners probably covered it up. They were modernists. Speaking of the last owners, full disclosure requires that I tell you about what happened to them.

‘Wait?! something happenedddd???’

Vivien : Oh, God... they didn't die in here or anything, did they?

Marcy : Yes, actually, both of them. Murder-suicide. I sold them the house, too. They were just the sweetest couple. You never know, I guess.

‘omgggggg ghostsss!!!! i called it! 😉’

Ben : That explains why it's half the price of every other house in the neighborhood, I guess.

Marcy : I do have a very nice mid-century ranch, but it's in the Valley, and you're going to get a third of the house for twice the price.

Ben : Right.

Violet : Where did it happen?

Marcy : The basement.

Violet : We'll take it.

Ben : You mean... you can't?

Vivien : Can't believe this place doesn't freak you out a little bit. 'Cause of what happened here?

Ben : My repulsion is tempered by the fact that this house is worth four times what we paid for it, so let's not think about it.

Vivien : This is your professional advice, Doctor, just denial?

Ben : Come on, let me give you a little love. Moving here, buying this house was the exact right thing to do for us and our family. It's a good thing and we deserve some good after all the shit we've been through.

Vivien : I've got some stuff I want to... unpack down in the kitchen. I appreciate that you're trying. I'm trying, too.

Ben : Okay.

Vivien : It's just gonna take some time.

Violet : Right? I know. And the worst part is that six months earlier, my mom had, like, this brutal miscarriage. The baby was seven months old, and we had to have this macabre funeral. Have you ever seen a baby coffin?

Tate sits near Violet and gently touches her wrist.

Tate : I'm sorry.

Violet : Why are you seeing my dad?

Tate : Don't ask questions you already know the answer to. You're smarter than that.

Violet : Want to listen to Morrissey? He's cool and he's pissy and he hates everyone and everything.

Addie : No, they did it.

Vivien : Who did it?

Addie : The twins.

Constance : Shh.

Addie : Can I... pet your dog?

Vivien : No, Adelaide, listen to me. I want you to stop coming in here without permission. Am I clear?’

I wisper to mom, ‘why does she always come in the house, i can hear her a lot.’ mom just shrugs

Ben : Vivien.

Vivien : Am I clear?

Addie : Yes.

Vivien : Thank you.

Constance : Time to go, Addie.

Ben : Hallie!

Vivien : Are you okay?

Addie : She shouldn't have done that.

Vivien : We still love each other.

“ You could've fooled me. I thought you hated each other. Well, at least you hated him. I don't blame you. He was a shithead. Sorry.”

Vivien : It's okay. He was a shithead. You know, we got a lot of history. Your dad's been through a lot, I've been through a lot. Guess we need each other. What are you scared of?

Ava je zatraceně sexy a setkání s ní přežije jen málokdo. Ava je výjimečně dobrá nájemná vražedkyně, která pro tajnou organizaci likviduje zadané lidské cíle. Dostává ty nejvybranější úkoly - obvykle kravaťáky z vysokých kruhů byznysu. Ava pracuje bez soucitu rychle, čistě a nenápadně v různobarevných parukách, chic kalhotových kostýmech nebo v elegantních večerních šatech. Po jedné zpackané akci se ale všechno nebezpečně změní. A couple years ago, I made some posts with anime recommendations based on Hogwarts houses. And in case you haven’t noticed, there’s been a lot of new anime that’s come out in that time, and I’ve thought of some other things that I think people may have missed. It’s time for SLYTHERIN, the house of ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, and evil determination!

Kaguya-Sama Love is War: Have you ever wondered what would happen if Light Yagami and Lelouch vi Britannia were secretly in love with each other but were too tsundere to confess, thereby engaging in a constant mental battle over who would get the other to confess first? Well that’s Kaguya-sama! It’s a hilarious comedy/romance where two overly intelligent student council members are forced to come up with ridiculously elaborate schemes to get their crush to confess first because neither of them wants to sacrifice their dignity and put their feelings on the line.

This was one of the best shows of the winter 2019 season, and that’s saying something considering how stacked this year has been for anime. The protagonists are 100% Slytherin material for obvious reasons, and they’re both so likable because they really make the audience understand why they do what they do...even though their schemes are absurdly complicated and involve so much strategy it feels like you’re watching Game of Thrones with high schoolers.

Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu): A comedy in which a bunch of middle schoolers are tasked with murdering their teacher before the end of the year or the world will literally explode. But it turns out the teacher is kind of cool and helps the kids with their life problems, so like...is it even worth it to try and kill him? If you haven’t seen it around, it’s the one with the yellow smiley-faced octopus guy. It’s got one of the most entertaining casts of characters around with a super fun premise and a standout animation style. MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT HAS A COMPLETE AND SATISFYING STORYLINE WITH AN ENDING! It’s not going to leave you hanging on another season.

This is one of those shows where after I got to a certain point, I couldn’t wait for the next episode to be released, and I had to go read the manga because it was just that intense. It has four main characters who are total Slytherins (because yes, both Nagisa and Kaede are Slytherins) but all in different ways. And while every single character is ambitious and is driven to kill for the sake of the world, they’re also all super cunning and strategic with their assassination plots. I wouldn’t last a day in this classroom. This is one of those shows where you start off thinking it’s going to rely all on its silly repetitive premise, and then you realize accidentally got super attached to everyone and maybe you don’t want to kill the teacher after all and oh God when did I start crying?

Kakegurui: When a seemingly normal high school girl named Yumeko Jabami transfers to the prodigious Hyakkaou Private Academy, she finds out that everything in the school revolves around gambling. Good thing she’s actually completely insane and loves high stakes gambling, because she upsets the entire social structure in no time. But she’s just here to have fun!

Okay, I’ve only actually seen the first season because when I started watching the second one it just seemed like more of the same...but a lot more...disgusting. That said, I really enjoyed the first season, and I thought Jabami was an interesting character...in a crazy sort of way. The reason this show works is because we see everything through the eyes of a completely average joe, so the audience is constantly amazed by the actual planning that goes into the gambling strategies. And though it seems like she doesn’t really put a lot of thought into climbing the social ladder of the school, Jabami’s a Slytherin because she is constantly thinking of new ways to get what she wants out of every gambling opportunity. I think the first season itself is really creative has a darkly fun tone. If you’re in the mood for something completely insane with a of weird fanservice and lesbians...this is the one for you.

The Rising of The Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari): When an average otaku named Naofumi is summoned to a fantasy world and is tasked with being a hero, he is immediately framed for a crime and finds himself having to walk the line between revenge and redemption while also trying to save innocent people and fixing everything that the other heroes fuck up. Okay stay with me here…yes, it’s an isekai...but it’s the one isekai from this year that I’ve actually enjoyed so give a chance. It subverts the trope of the hero who everyone automatically loves and has a lot of great female characters who kick ass and aren’t just meant to be a harem. There’s also a lot of mystery and intrigue about the fantasy world, and it’s the first isekai in a long time where I actually got more invested in the setting itself.

Yes, I’ve talked about this show a lot, and I know not everyone likes it because of the first episode, but it’s a perfect example of a Slytherin main character who isn’t a horrible person! Naofumi is forced to build up his life from nothing, while the royalty of the country basically kicks him while he’s down at every opportunity. So naturally he’d become the crafty kind of hero who helps people but also turns his services into a profitable business. BUT HE’S STILL A GOOD PERSON! He is the only one who thinks things through enough to not cause more problems and he’s super determined to change this world for the better. Just watch past the first episode, and maybe you’ll like it too.

Good Luck Girl! (Binbougami-ga!): A comedy in which an obscenely lucky, intelligent, rich, popular girl named Sakura is suddenly cursed by a goddess of poverty named Momiji who constantly tries to steal back Sakura’s good fortune...because it turns out Sakura’s been unconsciously stealing it from everyone else, and Momiji needs to give it back to everyone before it causes a major disaster. Momiji and Sakura have a hilarious rivalry, and this show is full of great references and over the top insanity. Also, the English dub is pretty awesome!

Why doesn’t anyone talk about this show? It’s amazing, with a great example of a Slytherin protagonist that’s terrible but still somehow hilarious. Sorry Slytherins out there, I had to do at least one show with a complete asshole as the main character, but the reason Sakura is a good protagonist is because she’s so terrible! She’s cunning, determined, intelligent, and will do anything to get to the top...but she’s also a horrible human being, and I love watching her act like she’s better than a literal goddess.

Violet Harmon's shoes. I always thought she only wore the ecote equestrian boots, the brown converse, and the gold flats. I was very wrong, bc she wears atleast 9! So when we first see violet, she's wearing these small heeled leather oxfords. Then she wears brown combat boots (I think she also wears them at school when she smokes at school) but we clearly see them during the basement scene when she scares leah with tate. I always thought at the skate park she wore the ecote, but I rewatched the season and noticed they were shaped differently, so I personally think it a different pair of boots. She then wears suede ish type light brown boots when she rolls the ball to Beau in the basement. During her beach date with tate she wears black combat boots (I always thought they were the same she had on when she scares leah, but these have a silver lace clip at the top, and they're darker). We also see her wear the ecote equestrian ankle boots multiple times. The two last pairs we see in murderhouse are the brown converse she wears when she dies, as well as the gold pair of flats during Christmas. The last ever pair we see vi wear are the combat/granny boots we see her wear in apocalypse throughout that one episode. Vi also wore white flats in the promo video, with her grey cardigan and white dress, as well as black/navy flats in the costume change that we sadly never got to see her wear on the show, but when she wore them, she wore them with the spending time pullover. Hoping this helps if youd like to find violetesque style shoes!!

PORTVILLE — In two seasons of varsity soccer at Chautauqua Lake, Ian Riedesel had never scored a goal.

He picked the perfect time to score his first.

Riedesel scored in the 70th minute Thursday evening to send the fourth-seeded Thunderbirds to a 1-0 victory over No. 1 Portville in a Section VI Class C semifinal.

“I had these guys in modified for a couple of years and these guys work hard,” Chautauqua Lake coach Mike Putney said. ” … When you can get a group of guys who work hard and listen, great things are going to happen.”

Next up for Chautauqua Lake is a meeting on Dutch Hollow Road with No. 2 Maple Grove on Saturday afternoon at 1:30. The Thunderbirds, who will be seeking their first sectional crown since winning back-to-back titles in 1998 and 1999, handed the Red Dragons their lone loss of the season, 3-2, last Friday.

“We’re playing well. They play with passion and they meet the challenge,” Putney said. ” … Maple Grove is a phenomenal team. … They are the benchmark for everybody. You go out there and you just try your best.”

Chautauqua Lake’s spot in the championship game hung in the balance for most of the game Thursday until the Thunderbirds took advantage of a throw-in deep in Portville territory.

Senior Hunter Harris quickly picked up the ball on the sideline and threw it in Riedesel’s direction toward the outside of the 18-yard box.

Several Panthers defenders seemed to part like the Red Sea giving Riedesel a clear look at the goal.

“Hunter delivered a beautiful pass out there,” Putney said.

Off a bounce, Riedesel struck a perfect shot just inside the goalpost to the short side of the net where Portville keeper Alex Wenke was unable to reach it giving Chautauqua Lake a 1-0 lead.

“We were just standing there and I decided to make a run,” Riedesel said. “Hunter Harris had a beautiful throw-in. I just shot it and it went in.”

“Ian was on the sideline. … I looked at Ian and I said ‘Go score a goal,’” Putney added. “I knew he was due. I have faith in these guys and they deliver for you. Ian is a great kid and he works his butt off. What a time to get your first goal.”

“It seemed like indecision on whose throw it was or whether it was a foul,” Portville coach J.J. McIntosh said. ” … He picked it up and threw it in … I don’t know how he got it in at that angle. He made a nice move, cut in goal side and knocked it home.”

The goal seemed to energize the Thunderbirds, who actually possessed the ball for much of the remainder of the game as the Panthers desperately looked for the equalizer.

Both teams had their fair share of possession in the first half, which was marked early by an injury to Wenke, who collided with a Chautauqua Lake player in the sixth minute and was forced to leave the game for nearly 10 minutes.

The Thunderbirds’ Devin Putney had one of the best chances of the opening 40 minutes when he received a pass down the right side of the field and struck a shot that looked to be heading into the top corner of the goal before it was tipped over and out of play by Wenke — one of his five saves — in the 24th minute.

In the 28th minute, the Panthers were awarded a free kick just outside the top of the 18-yard box, but the shot was driven into a Chautauqua Lake wall of defenders.

“We connected to feet and were possessing in the attacking half, but we just couldn’t find that one finishing touch,” McIntosh said. “We couldn’t find that one pass to make it a really solid opportunity. That goes to their pressure and tenacity.”

Thunderbirds junior keeper Tate Olson was called upon to make the best of his 10 saves midway through the second half, when he deflected a Portville shot over the goal and out of play.

“Tate Olson is a true warrior. I just love him back there,” Putney said. “There have been countless times this year that I thought the ball was going in the net and out of the blue he just appears.”

Chautauqua Lake was up to the task of defending the speed of Michael Cole, the Panthers’ leading scorer with nine goals on the season. The sophomore was able to find a couple of shots on net, but they were all from the perimeter of the Thunderbirds defense.

“Mikey Cole was struggling to find space behind the defense,” McIntosh said. “We were getting wide, but we just weren’t getting up fast enough to put pressure and numbers inside the box.”

“I just love our defense. These guys work tirelessly at it,” Putney said. ” … They just bring it. They thrive on those challenges. We do one-on-one drills in practice and they take it to heart.”

Putney’s team will likely need an equally impressive performance Saturday when they take on the Red Dragons, who have outscored opponents 50-17 this fall.

“It’s been a really great experience,” Riedesel said. “I couldn’t ask to do it with anybody else other than these guys.”

NOTES: Chautauqua Lake’s girls team — the No. 5 seed — will also play in a sectional final Saturday at 11 a.m. in Frewsburg against the second-seeded Bears. … Mark Carls, the father of Portville junior Thomas Carls, coached Chautauqua Lake to its back-to-back sectional titles in 1998 and 1999. … Riedesel became just the fourth Chautauqua Lake player to score this season. Carson D’Anthony has 12 goals, Harris had three and Elias Quintero has three.
