Taking Shane to the mines

Personally I think he'd be one of the best mining partners. Sure, he isn't as fit and athletic as he used to be back when he still played gridball, but he does a lot of physical work at Joja Mart. Besides I think he'd be the least scared of the monsters.

Definitely has enough pent up anger to let it all out on the creatures that are crawling in the depths of the mines.

His very first encounter with a slime went like this-

Shane: Wtf are these little shits?! *he says while slicing them up without a second thought*

You lend him your sword, because he feels more comfortable protecting you instead of letting you handle the fighting yourself. Shane also has no idea what materials you exactly need.

He follows your every step and before a monster can even lock onto you, he already charges at them like a damn torpedo.

You two do need a lot of breaks tho, because he lacks stamina from all the alcohol.

But all in all, you're incredibly impressed with him and don't be shy about it. Shane loves to hear your praises.

After a while he genuinely starts to enjoy going to the mines with you and gets excited everytime he sees you infront of Joja Mart after his shift to ask him if he wants to come with you.

Farmer: *happily mining*

Meanwhile Shane swinging the sword: DISRESPECT YOUR SURROUNDIIIIIIIIINGS

After every trip you either cool down at his or your place with some snacks and drinks and get cleaned up. Sometimes you accidently wake up Jas and she sits with you guys as she listens to your epic monster stories with big eyes.

Marnie is lowkey highkey worried abt the two of you, but she knows that her constant speeches abt the danger of the mines won't stop you. She secretly loves seeing you and Shane hang out so often. These are the rare times he actually smiles over his entire face.

In some moments when you're panting and all sweaty he glances over to you, but makes sure that you don't catch him. (You do tho. Everytime.)

Naturally you do the same when he's all worn out ;)

The entire town hears your loud giggles and conversations when you head home in the middle of the night. The first few times the people didn't even recognize Shane's voice, because you know he never giggles.

For him this is a very welcome change now that he spends his evenings basically "working out" instead of drowning his sorrows in beer.

Star-Crossed Lovers

The Sign. Absolutely doing the star crossed lovers trope justice. Phaya and Tharn have been finding each other and getting killed and finding each other again for several lifetimes apparently. I love that they met as deities and fell into a forbidden romance. An epic battle ensued and they both die tragically, but not before promising to find and protect each other in every lifetime. We even got a soul tie. Even now in the present time they have found each other again and are actively protecting each other from the other worldly threat that has chased them from lifetime to lifetime, but if they don't break the cycle this time and die they won't find each other again. Does that not sound like a fairytale??

Bodyguard

My Dear Gangster Oppa. Ok well, Tew is not a bodyguard but he might as well be Guy's bodyguard. Guy brings out a softness in Tew we don't see anywhere else. I love that he's so sweet on Guy but literally cutthroat to everyone else. I love that his character is allowed to be violent in conjunction with being a sweet, thoughtful, and loving boyfriend. (Highkey hate that he wanted to get out of the gang life) Tew protects Guy from any and everything bad even though he brings the danger with his line of work. He makes sure Guy gets home safely and that he feels valued. He won't let anyone hurt Guy. Guy does get into a few dangerous situations but Tew is always there to save him.

Forbidden Love

(Ok I just answered this in another ask but I'm gonna post it to this one because I know you adore Sailom)

Wedding Plan. Ok so forbidden love on two levels. Sailom, our-soon-to-be-groom is very much actively pursuing his hardworking wedding planner Namnuea, who is a man. Sprinkle in the overbearing parents who want the wedding more than the betrothed oh and they're both homosexuals. Sailom is working on mustering up the courage to come out to his family so he won't lost Nuea while also juggling the fear of being disowned and also the possibility of out his beloved bestie/bride Yiwa and exposing her relationship with her longtime girlfriend Marine.

First off Kokichi starts a drinking game with Kaede (they’re drinking water dw) on how many friends are shocked upon realizing Shuichi Works-at-a-McDonalds-NaegiTogamiKirigiri lives here.

These two because as Shuichi’s resident co-best friends (they had an Epic Battle about it in the second grade and Shuichi officially declared them both his best friends) they’ve probably been over quite a few times over the years, notable mention that Kaito and Maki have definitely been over a few times as well

ALSO just. the sheer insanity. Shuichi casually showing his friends around and they're still highkey shocked. Homeboy has probably developed the habit of Not Bringing Up His Parents (not because of any relationship strain just cause. yknow. the celebrity thing lmao. Imagine meeting someone's parents and they're like "Oh I know them, I watched their friends die when I was younger.") so a lot of them just. had no idea. like yeah he may have mentioned like "oh yeah my dad works at Togami corp" "SHUICHI YOUR DAD IS THE FUCKING CEO OF TOGAMI CORP" "I mentioned he worked there didn't I?" or like "Yeah my dad works from home a lot but he also has to go on really long work trips" "Shuichi your dad is on an ad at the bus stop"

I feel like with absolutely everyone here, Shuichi's number one goal is to avoid Naegi getting out the baby photos (because we're looking at 16-17, and this is Shuichi, he would probably die on the spot if all his friends got to see the pumpkin video again) BUT ON TOP OF THAT we have Kokichi, who is trying to 4D chess his way into getting Naegi to pull out the baby photos (The rivalry may have calmed down but it will never die) So the two are silently battling it out with Naegi completely none the wiser. Also a silent and joking rivalry in Shuichi's class of just who can give him the best present. like nobody is getting violent but it's definitely become something HPA students even outside their class have started placing bets on. There's huge cash pools on the big players, Kokichi, Kaito, Kaede, and Maki, but it also became a gag to vote for Kiibo just to put the pressure on him to get a really good gift (for the lolz yknow?) and He's So Stressed The Whole Time.

also you and I both know Kokichi shoved Shuichi's head into his cake. Imagine it's become like a tradition at this point. they get a second smaller cake just for this weird tradition of theirs. Shuichi's just grown to accept it lmao.

What do you think?

yknow what that actually outlines a deeper message of kotlc which i think is super interesting, which is the idea that humanity is something singular to humans, which is actually a very important concept to us as a society. because, if we give non-human things humanity, then we're losing our grasp on what it means to be ourselves, and our knowledge of self as we've fought to understand it for so many years is getting epically screwed over.

this was a huge player in the very beginning of the series, especially in Everblaze, like, that one was straight up about what makes a person a person.

and this song, like, highkey really really really focuses on the way that love can cause a person to become more person-like, how a human can be made more human, more real, more living through being loved and loving in return.

I'm almost human Finally breathing, what is this feeling? Human Coming to my senses, losing my focus Taken by emotion, lost in the moment You make me feel Almost human

like these lines are so interesting in the context of kotlc because what kotlc has been doing is deconstructing, for both the reader and for Sophie, the idea that humanness is something unique, something exciting, and that's really the main point of kotlc. it's this, if there was another more powerful species, would they even want to interact with us? do we even matter? do they view us as animals, war hungry and callous? Cruel and unforgiving?

as you read the series, you see how the elves see humanity, and it's wrong. like, on every level, you know that the way the elves see humanity is not accurate, and isn't true. human beings fight wars, sure. they destroy, sure. but they also create. humanity is a resilient species, and it is in our ingenuity and creativity that we have our strengths.

as a human reader, you resent the elves for their view of humanity, and that's the intention, but like.

this song.

it really highlights the idea that there is something extraordinary about humans. that there's something especially good, there.

like, maybe, in our reckless way of loving, in our understanding of the world, in the warmth and in the pain, in the blocky buildings and the dusty streets, we've uncovered a reality that the elves have hidden away, in our struggles and in our pain we've come to an understanding that this world is not all there is, and that the greatest thing a person can do is to love.

the elves don't seem to have that understanding of the world.

for them, the greatest thing always seems to be perfection. you want to be perfect, because that is the greatest thing an elf can do.

and sophie, with her human ideas of love, just brings her recklessness with her, in a way, the idea that good is not always synonymous with perfection, and that she is meant for more than appearances, meant for more than shimmer and shine and jewel and pictures.

and, like, the "finally breathing" line really just draws out the idea that, in the context of kotlc, there's that love that there is that people stuff down, or twist, or hide, but it's not necessarily the best idea.

like, let's take the matchmaking system. an institution based on love, true and good and holy, for humans, was reduced to the perfection of genes and personality.

humans don't give a darn about that.

and like, there's freedom in it.

your love is yours to give to whoever you wish.

I'm so happy that I found another person that uses mpreg as a coping mechanism cause of trauma. I highkey thought I was alone lmao

adasd Epic!! I've actually met a couple ppl who also used it to cope, I remember feeling the exact same way. I've used it to help me cope for years while living in a abusive household growing up, I was sick of dealing w all the toxicity growing up and add that w dealing w babysitting an alcoholic father, abusive ex stepmom and mom all the time. I just started drawing mpreg to make wholesome happy family's and it helped me cope for years. I never got therapy from the trauma till high school and even my therapist said my coping mechanism was healthy.

Even now since I fully healed and moved on from my traumatic events, I still use mpreg as a coping mechanism. Honestly if I never did even draw it, I probably wouldn't have meet all the amazing friends I've met the past years :).

Had an idea, went with it. This isn't a second part to my previous one, but it is a shortstory for Melvinborg trynna be lovey <3

Tommy is off his rocker again making Melvinborg x Reader stuff 🤘😎 (This'll be in the reader's POV btw)

The Café Down the Street

(Melvinborg x Reader)

You paced around your livingroom, thinking on how you were going to pull this off. What were you attempting to pull off? Well, you had managed to snag a date with the one and only Melvinborg, and you wanted to help him feel comfortable around you. Admittedly, it's been more difficult than you expected.

He has trust issues to the brim and had formed a habit of being cold and distant, making it hard for anyone to actually become friends with him- let alone date him. You still had no idea how you managed that, but should you really question it?

With a sigh, you stopped your pacing, picking up your phone from your coffee table to look at the time. Only twenty more minutes until you'd have to meet him, and you were beyond unprepared. Yet you managed to stay confident in yourself and began to finalize your appearance before heading out.

Your mind raced with thoughts as you walked to the Café you had invited him to. It was close enough not to need a car- at least for you it was. You honestly had no clue where Melvinborg lived, you'd have to ask him later.

Before long you had entered the Café, the bell above the door letting out a soft 'ding' as you opened and closed the door, walking inside. You spoke to the waitress at the front before finding a place to sit, deciding against ordering anything until Melvinborg had shown up.

Would he even show up? You didn't take him as the type to backout unannounced- especially to an event like this that he could brag about (after being single for so long, you were certain he'd rub it in his coworkers' faces that he finally had someone). Albeit as time went on, you got more and more anxious.

Luckily, five minutes after the scheduled time, he had shown up, seemingly rushed and out of breath. You weren't sure what had happened to make him late, but it definitely wasn't something small considering he has never been late to anything without proper cause.

Melvinborg ran his fingers through his hair as he glanced around the Café before his gaze landed on you. He seemed to sigh in relief as he walked over, sitting infront of you in a straight posture (as expected).

"I'm assuming you're wondering why I'm late?" He questioned, noticing how you were silently thinking to yourself and nearly zoning out. "Hm? Oh, yes- What happened? I'm not mad, not at all, but you worried me." You responded after fully zoning back in, inching your hand towards his on the table (though he retracted his hand ever so slightly as the tips of your fingers grazed it).

He waved his hands around in an animated fashion as he spoke, "I expected as much. It was nothing important, my car broke again and I figured it'd be easier to walk here instead of fixing the car for the fifth time." He seemed to glare at the table before muttering, "I shouldn't even trust the car anyway."

You knew full well how he felt about using that car. If it weren't for him being so neglectful about himself, he probably would've bought a new one by now, but he was insistent on fixing the one that crashed because it was 'salvageable'. You disagreed but there wasn't a way you could win in an argument against him.

"I could've used mine, Melvin," You stated, "Besides, don't you live quite a bit away? How far did you run from?" You asked, seeing him look at you with an unsure stare before answering, "I only drove the car a few feet away from my house before it broke again, so I'd say I walked about six and one third miles."

You gave him a concerned stare and he sighed, "(Y/N), it's fine. I need to be more mobile anyway, the doctors said so. I was just doing what they wanted, that's all." He said rather dismissively, but he had ran over six miles in less than six minutes and that was concerning to you.

You had opened your mouth to argue but didn't manage to say anything, as one of the waitresses had came up to the table for your orders. You ordered your favorite pastry and preferred beverage while Melvinborg ordered a blueberry muffin and tea. Once that was done, the waitress left and your attention was back on Melvinborg as his attention was on you.

"Just-" You hesitated, reaching your hand out to hold his human one as you continued, "Don't strain yourself, alright? I know you're always perfect and don't want to show any flaws, but you need to take care of yourself."

Melvinborg just stared at you for a moment, an unreadable expression on his face as his hand stayed relaxed while you held it. Eventually, he held your hand back, his face changing to a soft glance as he looked up at you.

"You know I can't promise that." He said, letting out a small huff that symbolized a sort of laugh. You gave him a reassuring smile as you responded, "I do, I know. Could you at least try? I could help you, you know."

He let out an audible chuckle at that, "(Y/N), you couldn't help a fly if you tried, you definitely can't help me." His hold on your hand tightened slightly as he continued in a lower tone, "Especially not with something like this."

"I can try, though." You said before leaning over to peck his human cheek with a kiss, adding on, "A bit of faith never hurt anyone."

Melvinborg seemed to freeze up for a second, his face ever so slightly tinted pink as he looked at you. It took nearly a full minute for him to unfreeze from whatever trance that kiss had put him in, responding with, "I think the word your looking for is denial, but believe what you want, (Y/N)."

Shortly after, the waitress had come back with your orders and placed them swiftly onto the table before leaving once again. Wordlessly you and Melvinborg had began eating your food, the both of you glancing up at each other on occasion without saying anything (afterall, you both had food in your mouths).

As you began drinking your beverage, having finished your food, you took a glance out the window. More time had passed than you expected, as you could see the sun lowering ever so slightly. It definitely wasn't late, but you had indeed been there longer than you thought.

You looked back at Melvinborg as he took a sip of his tea. "Should we be heading out? I feel like we just set a record for 'longest date at a Café'." You asked, giving a light chuckle at the end of your statement.

Melvinborg glanced out the window before looking back at you, setting his beverage down before speaking, "Eh, probably. I wouldn't say we've been here that long, but it's definitely been a while."

You set down money to pay for the meal, though Melvinborg had quickly also put down money for the meal. The two of you shared a glance before chuckling a bit, deciding to split the bill half and half.

"We should do this again," You suggested as you both exited the Café, you then added, "Maybe I'll pick you up next time." Melvinborg rolled his eyes but you could see the smile on his face as he spoke, "Whatever makes you happy, (Y/N)."

"Well you make me happy." You blurted out, Melvinborg's face turning a light shade of pink as he processed what you'd said. "Oh don't get mushy on me now," He huffed, crossing his arms as he forced a frown on his face (you knew what his actual frowns looked like, and that wasn't one of them).

You let out a faint chuckle as you wrapped your arm around his human one, holding his hand gently. He looked down at it for a moment before squeezing your hand and muttering, "I'm still not used to that."

You sighed, a smile on your face as you kissed his cheek before saying softly, "You'll get used to it eventually, Melvin, trust me."

- holy shit the whole sequence of the ship being attacked/destroyed was so fucking sad and intense,, i was not expecting this so early in the movie

- when pavel was talking about the rest of the crew and said “captain… what if they-” and jim interrupted and just went “no. no.” …. i am. Heartbroken. actually.

I adore Levi but sometimes his manipulative personality gets to me - and he almost gives off some incel-like vibes sometimes 😅. So, what do you think would happen if Levi gathers his courage and asks MC out but they have to let him down because theyre already dating another brother (like mammon or someone levi is really annoyed by). I feel like Levis reaction could be dangerous because of his envy and self deprecation-turned-anger

okay but highkey when I first met Levi I was so creeped out. definitely has some incel vibes, especially in the beginning. ive ranted abt how he reminds me of really toxic nerdy guys before (post here) and its super creepy some times.

but his toxic ass is still my favorite so lets brake this scenario down for some unhealthy funsies shall we~

I think it would depend on a mix of how Levi saw your relationship, and which brother it was. (he would handle you dating Mammon worse then Satan, for instance)

for Levi to ask you out in the first place is a lot for him, I dont think he would explicitly do so unless he was primarily sure you were going to say yes. and his self esteem is destroyed after (it'll probably take him a couple hundred years to build it back again)

now if he takes it okay (which, he won't like blow up at you or his brother, at least not at first) he will mostly just slink away and not be seen for a couple weeks. probably stops talking to you out of embarrassment. he will hold a grudge against you and whichever brother, his jealousy bubbling in his belly every time he sees the two of you.

if hes trying to maintain a healthy mindset, he will completely dive into fiction as an attempt to get over you. poor baby waited to long to ask you out and as a result he was already in love with you and now hes morning his broken heart. he fucked up big time as being "just friends" wasn't an option anymore baby was already in to deep.

oh and if he fails at this, or your brother of choice is someone he already despises, things will go very differently.

I think this is the quickest way we would end up with a yandere situation in the devildom. if Levi couldn't handle who you were dating things would turn bad really quickly.

he would still lock himself away, unable to face you from his embarrassment, but instead of amercing himself and trying to forget his envy hes going to start plotting. I dont think the man gets enough credit about how fucking good his plans can be.

sure hes an Epic Gamer TM but hes also a war vet. how many ships has he lead to their doom, willing to pay the price to further his goals.

hes a master at strategy, and envy is a hell of a motivator. he doesn't just desire you, oh no that's only one small part now. now he needs to take you away from his brother, from all of his brothers. you are no longer a person but instead an object for him to collect and put on his shelf. a specialty one of a kind piece he refuses to loose to anyone else.

you probably won't put the pieces together until its to late. until someone is dead or close to it. until your bones are broken or, if he can manage it, your mind instead.

Levi would like to trap you in a game, something outside of the physical world where no one else can reach you. leave you trapped like a monster inside a pokeball until your mind cracks. but if that isn't an option hes not apposed to breaking your physical bones, or removing your limbs if needed.

oh and your "Prince Charming" won't be coming to save you. Levi will make sure of that. he may be the third brother, but he is master of the seas. he will hide you away where none of his brothers can reach. maybe even dragging you down to meet Davy Jones himself, legs sewn together, holes sliced in your neck. there's some story about a mermaid who was turned to sea foam after losing her beloved to another... but Levi doesn't plan to make her mistake.

“this will kill him, yn, i know it. we’re basically all he talks to, and to ignore him for the whole day? oh my god” you giggle and lay across his bed, opening your phone.

“i know, i know. but.. this is what he gets after that whole bug snake shit he pulled on me when i was showering” ethan laughs and lays back against his pillows, the both of you scrolling on tiktok and showing each other videos.

you give a thumbs up to a camera hidden in ethan’s shelf. grayson knocked and entered the room, and neither you nor ethan acknowledged him there. “what’re you guys doing in here?”

“dude, look at this” you laugh and scoot up next to ethan, showing him the tik tok. you and ethan laugh at it, grayson’s eyebrows knitting and hitting your foot.

“hey, what’s going on? baby girl what did i do?” you wanted to quit the whole thing right there when grayson called you your favorite nickname. “e? come on dude, what’s up?”

you showed ethan another tik tok, grayson sighing and leaving the room and slamming the door behind him. you wait until you hear his bedroom door close before looking at ethan. “dude i don’t know if i could do this, did you see the look on his face? e i hated that look on his face”

“we only have... 12 hours” you groan and he laughs, going back to his tik toks. you told him you were going out to the kitchen to make food, hiding a camera behind a cereal box in the cabinet.

you take out a pan and grab bread, cheese and butter to make a grilled cheese. you put the sandwich on the pan, swaying your hips softly and dancing to a tune in your head. grayson comes out of his room and snakes his arms around your waist, kissing your neck slowly.

you roll your eyes to yourself, rolling your lips in between your teeth and trying to ignore him. grayson knew where every one of your favorite spots were, and he wanted you to talk to him.

“hey yn, what’re you making?” ethan came to save you and you flipped your grilled cheese over. you escape from grayson’s grip and slightly bend over the counter to talk to ethan.

“grilled cheese. i can make you one with vegan cheese”

“yes, thank you”

“can i get one?” grayson asked and you ignored him, and it hurt because you loved cooking for him and he was always so appreciative of it. “baby, why aren’t you talking to me? why isn’t ethan talking to me? what the fuck is going on?” you finish ethan’s grilled cheese and give it to him, putting the pan in the sink and grayson throws his hands up, storming off and swearing under his breath. “this is fucking bullshit, i didn’t do fucking anything”

you fall onto ethan and start to tear up. “oh my god this hurts so bad, e. i love him so much, and i’ve never gone this long without talking to him. this is so bad. can we just end it now?” you whisper and held onto his arm, ethan shrugging.

“if you want, but its only been an hour” ethan chuckles and bites into his sandwich, overly sharing how wonderful it was, and you both heard ‘fuck you!’ from grayson’s room.

dinner time rolled around and 8 was the cut off for the prank. it was 7:40pm and you were itching to stop ignoring your boyfriend. grayson escaped the house and stayed out most of the day, which made the prank much easier for you and ethan.

you cooked dinner for the 3 for you, not telling grayson it was ready. “oh, i’m being fed, cool” you checked the time and it was 7:58, and your knee bounced. ethan nudged you and nodded towards grayson.

“go ahead, we did it” he whispered and you both fist bumped, you throwing your fork down and running over to grayson. grayson grunts and puts his plate down, putting his hands on his hips. ethan laughs as you jump to kiss grayson.

“oh so now you want to talk to me! but you’ve been ignoring me all day, why?” grayson refused to wrap his arms around you as you squeezed him.

“it was just a little prank we wanted to do for the pranks you’ve done on us. we wanted you to get as pissed as we were, and i think you got even angrier” ethan put his dirty plate in the sink. “sorry bro. it was hard not to talk to you, no shit. yn would cry and say she was going to give up, she said it after an hour. but she stuck it out. and she feels really shitty about it. now i have a date, and i will see you two not until later”

you watched as ethan left, and as soon as he closed the door, grayson picked you up onto the counter with his hands holding your thighs, your arms draped around his neck. “i’ve been so upset all day.. not being about to kiss you.. or hear your say you love me..” grayson mumbled as his lips hovered over yours.

“i know, gray, but that bug prank wasn’t nice and you needed payback. but.. ethan is gone.. and now i’m all yours” you pull his head down but he stops just as your lips touch his. “grayson..”

“ohh.. doesn’t feel nice, does it? being rejected?”

“well having fake bugs thrown on me wasn’t very nice either, but fine. whatever” you lay back against the cold counter, pulling out your phone and opening snapchat. before you clicked on anything, grayson’s lips kissed your stomach and catching you off guard.

“you’re right, the bug prank wasn’t very nice, can i make it up to you?” he looked up at you, playing with the strings on your sweatpants. you put your hands down and nod, watching as he takes your bottoms off.

“wait, gray, there’s a camera in the cabinet” you breathe and grayson smirks, kissing your thighs.

d&d wouldn’t be my system of choice to emulate dragon age. that said! wicked grace night turns into d&d night?

varric is, of course, both the dm and the instigator.

cassandra and cullen both show up with human paladins. they're predictable like that. lbr it takes cassandra a while to get comfortable with the whole roleplay thing but once she's got it (much later) varric can probably encourage her into something more out of the box.

josephine wants to play a face role, and goes for bard, one of the cute small or furry races. her character comes across as extremely innocent but has quite the devious streak.

leliana begs out of participating like "oh no I am much too busy with my important spy things I simply cannot commit" but tbh she feels kind of weird about cheating on the home game with another campaign. (the home game is, of course, a west marches-style hexcrawl that's been running out of vigil's keep for the past decade and has built up entire tomes of lore) varric badgers her into acting as the bbeg, giving her post-game updates on the party's actions and asking what she'd do in response. it's a big reveal when they meet leliana as the bbeg at the end of the campaign and she really hams it up.

vivienne plays a wizard and attains a level of system mastery that proves devastatingly effective.

iron bull crossplays, tbh, a great big strong sexy muscle lady. barbarian seems obvious but tbh I'd like to see him get creative with hexblade. either way, he's the main cause of most of the trouble the party gets into.

sera is the other main cause of most of the trouble the party gets into. varric indulges her with expanded crafting rules so she can play the grenade and trick-shot arrow build she wants. likely also a great big strong sexy muscle lady lbr.

dorian plays a tiefling because he's gay and they're fancy. maybe a warlock for that extended family disappointment vibe. playing a disaster tiefling is a babygay rite of passage tbh. just let it all out, dude.

cole plays a life cleric. he just wants to help. he highkey doesn't understand the concept of not metagaming but varric loves him anyway, even if he does occasionally reveal important campaign secrets at the most inopportune times.

blackwall plays a no fuss no muss fighter man who has absolutely no deep dark backstory secrets he's keeping hidden from the party, varric, so stop asking.

solas is. awful let's be honest. this is so much worse than the system he used to play 50000000 years ago. he also has a tendency to argue with the dm when things don't go how he planned and sulk when the party ignores his brilliant suggestions. he drops out of the game pretty quickly and it's for the best.

dagna (alchemist) and lace harding (ranger) join in later as his replacement.

hawke finds out about the game and excitedly breaks out their character sheet for their busted 3.5e epic level prestige-classed dragon disciple/whatever/whatever to join in and varric has to break it to them that he's running 5e now and the party is only like level 5. the good news is that varric has been using the characters from the kirkwall campaign as gods in this one and he's not going to pass up this opportunity for hawke's character to make a guest appearance. hawke spends quite a bit of time trying to cajole the party into worshipping them and very nearly succeeds in cassandra's case.

taichi/touma was always the plan

yes way, tai, you dumb disaster bi

hear me out ok? i tried to be brief. tried. :D so first: why didn’t kaito just go the whole way and have an arc of them dating!?!? because kaito didn’t want to. that doesn’t mean hints weren’t there from the start, that this was unplanned. it’s just clearer in hindsight bc few thought shonen jump+ would go there.

there’re already great posts about taichi being bi but lemme breeze through-- there’s the suspect looks and blushes he gives touma (ex: above pic). flattering, sexy shots of touma from taichi’s POV. his behavior, thoughts, and epic meltdown after touma confesses; far too strong for just a straight dude dealing with being confessed to.

“but the manga was 52 chapters of romance with futaba!” look at the chapter 1 splash page. three hands in a love triangle. taichi+touma’s relationship is intensely and lovingly portrayed: highs, lows, tenderness. touma is shoved into the romantic tension more than warranted for simple unrequited suffering. remember when futaba+taichi get together? the cut to gayngst and “hey touma, what about you” right in the middle of it? we learn they’re dating on a dark page after a blushy touma+taichi scene as if to say “oh no! what about touma’s heart now?” btw taichi+touma is not wholly immune to romance tropes. heck there’s a kabedon lol. futaba even says taichi’s considering touma.

futaba+taichi’s relationship is meaningful and sweet. but later on, their romance doesn’t really get developed, especially from taichi’s end. like, they exchange charms but those never become significant unlike touma’s bday gift. they’re faced with separation in college but it doesn’t generate much dramatic tension in the story. on the other hand after that talk, taichi thinks about what he loves and wants for the future and immediately flashbacks to touma’s words and touma’s Bittersweet Yearning Face. futaba+taichi still have cute moments but the relationship takes a backseat narratively, which is... not usually what you want for your endgame

again, how taichi acts after touma’s confession is... uh. he has good reason to be distracted but it’s still not encouraging? the phone call where he says “i love you” but then “i don’t talk to me about touma” + hanging up like a repressed asshole refusing to face Inconvenient Feelings? the way futaba’s insecurity doesn’t get onscreen reassurance from him and is validated by the fact that he married touma in the end lol? and after going apeshit when touma stops coming to school, it’s interesting that what takes him out of his long BSOD is “best friend power” in the charm. an affirmation of taichi+touma’s friendship, and happiness without competition, but also what stopped touma from confessing in an earlier scene, instead maintaining the status quo between him and taichi lol

“but he no-homo’d him at the beach!” he himself says: just because the feelings aren’t the same doesn’t mean they’re not there. yet. what’s important to him is to keep touma around despite the difficulties. and when he says he’d been of jealous not of touma exactly but of how touma is around his friends it seems like nothing but i uh, hm. his other big realization here is that futaba inspired him. he’d wanted to help her because he wanted to change, too, like her. which is warm and lovely but not super romantic and actually kinda echoes futaba’s “ideal vs jealousy” epiphany about attraction lol hmm.

also. this manga doesn’t treat high school decisions are permanent, quite the opposite. SO!! in conclusion!!!

between taichi's latent attraction to touma from the start, opened to the possibility of touma as a romantic option, taichi+futaba’s relationship gaining less narrative and emotional weight later on, in contrast to the highkey emotions and overall focus on taichi+touma, and miscellaneous things i haven’t talked about like their tender handholding threaded throughout... all the foreshadowing set against the manga’s theme of continually choosing the future...

the endgame really is cohesive with the whole manga imo

oh dude no way i was just formulating my opinion on Kpop as a whole earlier today

aight so i like it, but it's a specific kind of like, because these two songs do not give off the same vibes, nor are they for the same purpose:

These aren't written for the same reasons, or the same purpose.

One is written to make you deeply and intensely aware of the theme. The crowning star of Talk is the lyrics. It draws references to previous literature and cultural works, it's about those lyrics that pull you in and shape your mind, echoing through your soul like you're reading some epic poem.

That's not the point of Lovesick Girls. Lovesick Girls is about the vibes. The emphasis is not on the lyrics, nor on the background music. It's on the overall entirety of the tone the song sets. It's about the excited, happy sounds, the empowering, upbeat tunes. It's supposed to make you feel specific things, and while those things aren't very deep, it succeeds excellently.

You could cry to Talk. I don't think you could cry to Lovesick Girls.

The point of Kpop, for me, is the dancability, the lighthearted tone of all the music, the way it's highkey just a bop, made to do fun dances to, to listen to to feel something fun and light in your chest. It's about the vibes and that's about it. And that's fine and good and enjoyable!

But yeah. I don't think it's fantastic.

But i think it succeeds in what it aims to do. :D

Starscream (I'm assuming from TFP?)

First impression: (Given that I was like, 5 or 6 when I saw TFP, cut me a little slack on the simplicity of this jdsjsdsdj) "The King of being Sly" and also "sharp claws, sharp claws, so COOL!! OWO" Interestingly enough, I had no particular feelings for him as in 'hating' or 'liking' his character, I just liked his claws and the Way he moved and talked :3 So.....well, I guess contradicting myself two seconds ago that would classify as: I liked him when I saw him, and also acknowledged fully that he was So Evil but that was ok >:)

Impression now: PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS BEFORE EXCEPT NOW I LOVE HIM AS ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF THE SHOW AJSDJSDKFSj Starscream hhh 💖 Also I still adore his claws and figure <3

Favorite moment: Oof, there are many to choose from....

THE HIP THRUST DANCE THING FROM PATCH BECAUSE WHO DOESNT LOVE THAT MOMENTS SDHSDJ

Every single time he did that epic thing where he jumped off a surface and near the ground, transformed, and bolted straight back up into the sky, leaving a clean, perfect trail of smoke...AHHHH

The Entirety of the episode "Thirst" because Starscream (and KO) and their dynamic was just *chef's kiss* 💝

Idea for a story: I know these have been written before but like. Any kind of scenario where Starscream gets to enjoy some recreational activity, maybe where he just goes on a nice, long flight on a clear, sunny day--maybe even goes to another country...just flies around in peace, stops and sits on a rock somewhere and watches a city of people down below, contemplating life.........sure, he reminds himself how easy it would be to go down there and destroy everything because he is more powerful than those puny humans could ever be!! And yet.....he just sits there and watches those people walk around and live their lives, intrigued for even just a little--after all, Lord Megatron didn't give him orders to destroy that city, now did he?

........SORRY ITS CHEESY, maybe even slightly ooc, but jsJSDH o///o I want Scream to be happy :3

Unpopular opinion: Probably not unpopular, but I've seen some people say that Starscream's character was inconsistent and written badly,,,,and I,,,,,disagree so fully with that???

But that's kind of it, and I don't think that many people think that, so.....I'll leave it at that--

Favorite relationship: Hmm......Starscream and Knockout dont come for me please I said this already but they have the perfect dynamic AA

Favorite headcanon: As you can tell by my story idea, that Starscream has recreational activities he tries to do when he can, and that they include Just Flying Around in Peace amongst other things (idk where I saw that one but I did see it somewhere and I love it ok--)

Leonardo (TMNT 2012)

First impression: OK so my first episode of TMNT 2012 was actually the last five minutes of "The Enemy of My Enemy" because I was just flipping through channels (and I was a third grader :D). I got that bit where he and Mikey were talking and Mikey was like "It's like when I found out that Leprechauns aren't real," to which Leo just stares at him and says, "You didn't know they're not real?!" (as Raph and Donnie sign frantically for him not to say that) and instantly, Mikey looks horrified: "LEPRECHAUNS AREN'T REAL???"

You might be asking why this is at all significant for my first impression of him....well I decided right then and there that Leo was a Dork and I liked him a lot.

To this day, I can't make sense of this or why that one scene there made me think that, but well, I can't figure myself out anyway lmfao--

So long story short: I liked Leo on sight, and maybe three or four episodes later, I cemented that opinion for sure in my mind, and also found him highkey attractive o///o 💙 In fact, he was my favorite for a short period of time ^w^

Impression now: LEO MY BELOVED 🥺🥰💕

He's officially my second favorite now!! I stil think he's adorable, but like adorkable kind of cute ;w; BUT I also see him as a great leader, a good character with meaningful development. He remained attractive to me and I've always thought he was cool.

Also he was and still is the definition to me of That Friend everyone calls responsible who Is Kind Of but sometimes you find that friend trying to eat three hotdogs at once and reconsider that and I Know this makes no sense but I stand with this idea lmfao

Favorite moment: BATTLE WITH SHREDDER IN TE SEASON 2 FINALE (which had a sad ending and it makes me sad every time I watch it but also GO LEO GO, SHOW THEM WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF)

-"Imagine if they knew who they were working for!!" *proceeds to Kraang Impression accurately* "..." and then he just laughs nervously and they return to planning an infiltration to TCRI

-LEO FANBOYING OVER SPACE HEROES WAS ALWAYS THE CUTEST qwq 🥺💙💙✨

-and many other because there are 6 seasons and I'm forgetting a lot of moments I'll be sad later I didn't remember at first--

Idea for a story: Hmmm.......Leo attending a Comic Convention and disguising himself as a human, because that would be funny but also lowkey cute >w< And!! It would be just him....idk, but it feels like something fun and that would result in him being a Happy Turtle~

Unpopular opinion: Um...........I didn't love those outfits/battle armor/whatever those were that he (or the other turtles tbh) had for both the forest thing in season 3 and then the black ones they had for the end of season 5; like it was only in a few scenes and it wasn't awful by any means but.....eh......

Favorite relationship: His dynamic with Master Splinter as the eldest and most responsible son, and then the dynamics with his brothers, especially with Raph because they fought a lot, but by the end of the series, they kind of saw eye to eye most of the time....that was just so well-written imo, I enjoyed it :D

Favorite headcanon: Ok, at the moment I can't recall one I've seen, so I'll just tell you one of mine: Leo actually likes onsies (those pj things) and owns a few because they're comfy and kinda cute :D but he's kind of embarrassed of this because he just knows his brothers will never let him hear the end of it if they were to find out, especially Raph--
