It's Late
Giyuu should be asleep right now. The moon shines a gentle light through their cloth curtains, which were opened to welcome the summer air in.
He stared up at the ceiling in their bed, wondering what kept him up so late. Was it the trees moving carefully under the post-rain wind? Was it the crickets looking for others to hide from their loneliness? Was it the birds that were preparing to fly and sing to welcome the early sun? Was it the blankets that felt too heavy against their skin?
The arm around his waist pulled him closer. Giyuu couldn't help the smile that rose on his lips at the simple form of affection. He nuzzled against the body behind him, hopeful the stars would be merciful as to last longer so he could sleep again.
"Hey," a soft, croaky voice called out from the man behind him. Giyuu didn't have to answer. "You can't sleep?"
Kyojuro must have checked their alarm clock, because he kicked the blankets off of them. The thin, extra sheet was brought over them now. "Well, now that you're awake, neither can I. Let's just lay here, then. I love you."
They laid against each other in their bed. Their soft sheets stuck to their skin as did their beads of sweat from the mugginess of the summer night. Despite the slight discomfort, it was always worth it. Kyojuro was holding him, and his warmth melted the troubles of Giyuu's mind into a sappy, beloved bliss. The sun would be rising soon, but the night held onto their embrace just a little bit longer.
Giyuu didn't comment when Kyojuro fell asleep first, he had no complaints for someone like him. With his help, Giyuu fell asleep before the sun rose, and that's all he could ever ask from him.
Because this home, this bed, was theirs.

What’s insane is that Rengiyuu are total foils for each other. Giyuu lost everyone he loved basically because they loved him and chose to save him no matter what. They all believed in him. He never did, he could never stop blaming himself. Kyojuro’s father gave up on him and yet Kyojuro never gave up on himself. He had every reason to stay alive. While Giyuu thinks he should have died rather than others, he still ends up living and becoming a hashira. It’s the price he paid to stand at the top of the world that he never wanted. Kyojuro should have lived and kept on carrying his legacy and had a life. He loved life. He wanted that. But he let it go to save others. Kyojuro was told that because he’s strong he must save people, that he might die for them, that he probably WOULD die for them. He knew that. Giyuu was told that people died for him when they loved him. How could he not see himself as weak?

Tylorpe, MomoJiro, GenMui, KanAoi and RenGiyuu for the ship asks!
Tumblr media
Tylorpe definitely has major "We used to date in our Sophomore year but broke up, except neither of us got over the other" vibes! I'd love to see more of Tylorpe interactions in season 2 of Wednesday, cuz they really only talked through Wednesday.
Tumblr media
So, a little story about my time in the My Hero Academia fandom is that I shipped het for like the first several months, and it wasn't until I joined the Llama's server that I started thinking on slash or femslash ships (I think you and Mizu were actually the main reason why that happened), but KamiJiro and TodoMomo were huge ships of mine, but now I really love MomoJiro! They've absolutely spent many nights huddled together in one of their dorm rooms, just sharing secrets and blushing at each other!
Tumblr media
GenMui is a ship I've just learned about over the past few days, so I'm still kinda working out how I feel about the ship, but it seems to be positive vibes so far!
Tumblr media
KanAoi is one of my favorite Demon Slayer ships, both Kanao and Aoi are so sweet together and I absolutely adore them! I really wish I could write Demon Slayer better, because I would for sure be writing TanjSuke, KanAoi, and ShinoMitsu!
Tumblr media
While RenGiyuu is not my main ship for either Rengoku or Giyuu, I still really love the appeal of Rengoku's bright shiny self being such a forthgoing outreach for Giyuu's more introverted tendencies, but they both get deathly serious when the job needs doing. I really like the ship, but unfortunately, RenUzui and ShinoGiyuu outshine them both XD

Y'all remember when I mentioned an Alien! Rengiyuu Au?
Well, heres a concept!
(To the best of my abilities)
Kyojurou was coming home from college after a long day
He wanted nothing more than to get home and pass out on his bed
While walking, he saw a light from the corner of his eyes
Kyojurou looked up to see what looked like a meteor soaring through the air
“Wow, is there a meteor shower happening? I didn’t know one would be happening right now!”
“Wait…are they supposed to be heading towards the ground?”
Cue a crash landing near where Kyojurou is
Immediately, Kyojurou dashed to the crash site to see what happened and to make sure that there weren't any injured people
The crash site wasn't as big as he thought it would be
It was actually really tiny
And through the smoke, Kyojurou could see a figure start to appear
Enter Giyuu the Aishawnu! (That's the name I chose for the alien species)
Once the smoke cleared and Kyojurou stepped closer to the figure, thinking it was an injured person, he finally got a good luck at the mysterious figure
It was, in fact, not a human
*Insert Screaming from both sides*
Giyuu was confused on what life form he was looking at
It had flame colored hair with a matching pair of eyes. It was around the same height as him, if not a bit taller. It certainly was an interesting specimen to look at
(I, for the life of me, can not describe send help-)
But even if it was interesting, it could still be a threat so Giyuu had his guard up
Kyojurou didn't know what the hell he was looking at
Whatever it was, it wasn't human he could tell you that much
Was it an alien life form?!
Kyojurou couldn't believe aliens actually existed
However, the longer he stared at it, it looked to be just as scared as him
It's sapphire eyes have a sense of panic in them, and his stance was a tense one with his tail swishing behind him
Kyojurou noticed a dark purple liquid staining the alien's tail, and that when he realized something
'It's hurt'
'No wonder why it's one edge, it's scared I might attack'
Slowly, Kyojurou put his hands up and spoke in quiet, or what he assumed was quiet, voice, " I'm not going to hurt you."
The other only hissed in response
Which was a bit weird since Kyojurou didn’t see a mouth for it to hiss with
"I won't hurt you." He repeated, taking a small step forward.
Kyojurou was met with another hiss, but it was less intense than before
The process repeated until Kyojurou was less than 3 ft away from the creature, which had thankfully stopped hissing but still kept on glaring
“I just want to patch up your wound.” Kyojurou says
He always kept bandages in his bag in case of emergencies
Kyojurou began to reach for his bag until the other’s hand reached out towards his head
Around 10 seconds had passed before the creature took its hand back
“What do you think you are doing?” A new voice asked
“ You speak my language?? Wait, how are you talking? You have no mouth!” Kyojurou asked, voice returning to its normal volume
(He does actually, it’s just not visible unless he’s eating. Think of King from TOH”
“ I gathered the information from your head and I am talking to you telepathically” the creature responded
“ Damn….Well, I have bandages to help with the wound on your tail." Kyojurou said, taking the bandages out of the bag.
Giyuu didn’t answer, but he allowed the other to assess his tail
'Only because I don't want to go walking around with an open injury' the Aishawnu thought
Kyojurou was thankful that the alien decided to work with him
Especially because he still doesn’t know exactly what it was. It could be poisonous for all he knows.
But it was hurt, and Kyojurou couldn't turn his back against an injured being, human or not.
After he was finished, Kyojurou stepped back and let the creature examine his handiwork.
"Not bad," it said, "I suppose a thank you is an order"
"No problem!" Kyojurou replied
Right after he said that, the other started to walk away
To where? Giyuu didn't know, but his time with the flame-haired was over and he needed to leave
"Hold on, where are you going?" Kyojurou exclaimed as he rushed to catch up with the alien.
"Somewhere. My business with you is over, shoo" it said.
"Yeah, no, you can't go walking around as you are! You're gonna freak people out, and who knows, you might get captured and experimented on!" Kyojurou argued.
The alien stopped walking at that and then turned around to face Kyojurou once again.
"So what do you suggest I do?"
Kyojurou didn't know how to answer that
What could he suggest?
' Well, why don't you come to my house?'
Wait-
"Uhh...why don't you stay over at my place? You don't have to stay there long, just until you figure out how you can get home!" Kyojurou suggested quickly
'Mother, Father, and Senjirou, please forgive me!' He thought
Meanwhile, Giyuu thought it over
Stay over at a stranger's residence?
Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous
But then again, he is on unknown territory with no tools or maps to help him navigate
And the only being willing to help is in front of him
Giyuu can't believe he's actually doing this but-
"Fine. Lead the way."
Just what were the two of them getting themselves into?
I maaaaaay have gone a bit overboard-
And just to clarify, Giyuu and Kyojurou call each other "it" just because they don't know what the other is so they just refer to each other as such. They clear it up later tho.
Also, everyone's alive in this Au
Yay!

saying something stupid (like 'i love you')
Part I Rengiyuu fluff 3700 words (so far) Chapters: 1/?
“I realized, these two days that you were gone, that there’s something I wanted to say…that I’ve been meaning to ask, though I wasn’t sure how to put it…” his voice was increasing in volume in nervousness.
Ignoring the pain in his chest, Giyuu sat up, leaning closer. His lips parted in surprise when he saw the deep red beginning to flush Rengoku’s cheeks and the tips of his ears.
“Well.” Rengoku rubbed his hands on his uniform pants. “I realized….” Abruptly, Rengoku looked back up at him, a wide, if nervous, smile on his face. “That you’ve never met my brother!”
Giyuu waited, then raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh.” He eventually nodded slowly.
“So I’d like to ask you to accompany me to my home for dinner!” He finished, proudly lurching himself up straight. “With my brother!”
--
Missing in action and presumed dead, Giyuu makes a miraculous return from the grave. Kyojuro, devastated by his loss and overjoyed by his return, suddenly has the chance to tell him exactly how he feels about him. The only trouble is, for once Kyojuro is the one at a loss for words.

This is It
RenGiyuu, 1.1K
TW: mcd, attempted suicide, depressing thoughts, blood
Tumblr media
Giyuu opened his eyes. It was midnight, a time he knew too well. He was laying on a roof somewhere he couldn’t recognize. He wasn’t alone. Kyojuro was sitting on the roof with him. He looked over at Giyuu with a soft voice, “Hey, good morning. How do you feel?”
Giyuu sat up slowly, “Where are we?”
“Not far,” Kyojuro answered, waving his hand in some direction. He looked at the lights of the small city ahead of them. “You didn’t answer my question, Giyuu.”
Giyuu hummed as a response. If he was to be honest, he felt awful. His head was groggy and he felt tired despite the nap. He shook his head, “I’m alright.”
Kyojuro looked over. His smile was brought down by the sadness in his eyes. “Okay,” he muttered, and Giyuu realized that he was caught in his lie. Neither of them elaborated further.
Kyojuro changed the subject, “I’m glad you’re awake, either way. I was worried that you might not wake up.”
Giyuu met his eyes, trying to see why Kyojuro would be worried about that. He looked over himself, missing the signs of blood or broken bones. Nothing. He was perfectly fine physically. He looked back at Kyojuro again, “What happened?”
“You don’t remember?” Kyojuro looked back at the lights, “Maybe it’s for the best. I’d rather you not remember.”
Giyuu didn’t understand why.
Kyojuro sighed and slid closer to Giyuu, “Can I ask a personal question?”
Giyuu nodded.
Kyojuro looked into the dark blue eyes of his lover, “What’s one thing that you’ve wanted the most in life?”
Giyuu gulped. There was no easy answer. There were so many things he wanted throughout his life. Acceptance, love, care, understanding, compassion, better speaking skills, friends, someone to talk to; all easy examples. Somehow, Kyojuro gave him all of those. He shrugged. “You?”
Kyojuro smiled and chuckled, “You flatter, but I appreciate it. I know it’s not true, however.” Kyojuro looked away, avoiding Giyuu’s concerned gaze. He continued, “You want him back, don’t you?”
Giyuu tried to see who he was talking about. They were the only two on the roof above the dead street. Despite the bright lights that made Tokyo look like daylight, the walkways were barren of any passerbys.
Kyojuro glanced at Giyuu’s hand, “You’re holding him now.”
Giyuu looked at his hand. It held onto Sabito’s side of the haori tightly. He let go. Kyojuro commented, “You miss him. Do you want him back?”
Giyuu nodded while he stared at his blood-stained hand, “Of course.”
Kyojuro put his soft hand against Giyuu’s cheek to guide his avoiding gaze to those burning embers of eyes.
“More than me?”
Giyuu froze. What kind of question was this? It felt like a trick. It felt unfair. Kyojuro was making him choose? Why? It was impossible. He loves Sabito and Kyojuro. They helped him through everything. Giyuu would be no one without them. He couldn’t choose, he couldn’t choose.
Kyojuro hummed. He was disappointed, but he couldn't understand it like Giyuu could. “Why do you keep it?” Kyojuro put his hand on Giyuu’s green and yellow shoulder.
“I don’t know.”
“You do,” Kyojuro squeezed, “You don’t have a grave to mourn at, do you?”
Giyuu didn’t know how Kyojuro knew that. “I don’t.”
“What if you did? Would you stop wearing it?”
“I don’t know.”
“You can mourn at my grave. Will you wear mine?”
“I don’t know.”
Kyojuro sighed again, knowing that he wouldn’t get another answer.
Giyuu held his breath, “I’ll miss you.”
Kyojuro looked at him, “Hm?”
Giyuu avoided his eyes, “If you die.”
Kyojuro glowed like an angel, “When I die, you mean. Death is guaranteed, Giyuu, and I miss you too.”
Giyuu felt tears stab at his eyes, “Will you wait for me?”
Kyojuro smiled out of the corner of Giyuu’s blurry vision, “There is no waiting, Giyuu. This is it.”
Giyuu looked up at him for the last time. Kyojuro’s smile was beautiful, open, and accepting.
It was his whole world.
It was over.
Giyuu blinked.
It wasn’t midnight anymore. He opened his eyes to somewhere different. The first thing he saw was the white that distorted his vision. He blinked away the tears and stared at the white snow on the ground. The ground was cold. Everything was so cold that it was warm.
Something touched him. He shook at the force, but couldn’t move at all.
“Oh, thank- Over here! He’s alive!” a feminine voice called out through his clogged ears. He was touched more. The snow was brushed off him and he was rolled on his back.
Shinobu’s face was in view. For once, she looked concerned. “Tomioka-san! Can you hear me?” She didn’t wait for an answer. She worked on his stomach, doing something just out of his vision.
His vision narrowed, and the darkness bit away at the vision of the white clouds. Shinobu talked about something medical. Something about blood, about cold, and about living. Was Giyuu dying? The pain in his stomach hardly compared to his blue fingertips or his toes.
Giyuu rolled onto his side at the push of burning hands, eventually falling back onto something that wasn’t cold and red. The snow beneath him was bloody. It was his blood. In the corner of his eye, he could see his bed clothes stained with blood. So much blood, so much blood, the amount that’s when something pierces the solar plexus and goes straight through it. Huh. Giyuu didn’t know where that thought came from.
Giyuu’s head was held to view the sky. He saw something else, though. His sword hilt. It was pointing to the sky, held by a dainty hand. The leather of the straps was stained red. Why was it above him? With much more effort than he anticipated, he lifted his head enough to see where the blade was.
It was covered in blood. Everything was covered in blood. It was in his stomach. Seppuku, his mind reminded him.
“Stay down!” Shinobu shouted, pressing her fingers against Giyuu’s forehead as if he wasn’t already falling back. His head lulled to the side when she let up but scolded him further.
Another color caught his attention aside from the bleeding red and the rippling blue. Silver and gray, he could barely make out the symbols carved into the stone.
Here Lies Rengoku Kyojuro
Proud Brother, Dedicated Son
The Greatest Flame Hashira
Oh.
He remembered what happened now.
It was his turn to save Kyojuro just as he saved him.
“You seem shy! That’s okay, my little brother is the same way! Tomioka-san, do you know anywhere close by where we could eat!”
Kyojuro saved him from loneliness. It was Giyuu’s time to return the favor.
I’m coming to save you.
I’ll save you, Kyojuro.
I’ll save myself.
I’ll save you.
I’ll save you.
