--
It was a snowy day; the village was heavily covered with mountains of snow ranging from the rooftops to the stony ground. To everybody else, it was a day when kids could run wild and have fun in the winter season. Some might have made snowmen, others have made snow angels, and a few have gone as far as starting intense snowball fights.
For other children; yes. It was a perfect day just to go out and hang out with some friends. But not you.
You leaned against the hard stone wall, your fragile body shivering violently from the unforgiving winter cold. Clutching on your ragged and torn blanket even tighter, you sighed in exhaustion as a cold fog escaped from your mouth. You pushed your little figure to hug itself even tighter, trying desperately to warm yourself up, but to no avail.
You were filthy, hungry, and lonely. Looking up tiredly, you stared at the group of kids laughing and playing in the snow filled streets, never noticing once that there was a lone child in the corner that was shivering in the harsh cold. Your lips were pressed into a thin line, your eyebrows were scrunched together as you continued to eye the kids with underlying envy.
As each day passes by, you could gradually feel yourself decaying. What was once well tamed [H / C] hair was now heavily disheveled and filled with knots, clean [S / C] skin now filled with grime and dirt, and your once-vibrant [E / C] eyes sheds its childlike innocence and sparks the longer you suffer in the streets.
Tearing your lonely eyes away from the laughing children, you shifted your attention to the plush teddy bear beside you. It was the last present you ever got from your parents before they were violently murdered by a Demon. The first time you saw the toy, it looked so vibrant and new, but as months passed, it soon deteriorated and had lots of tears and holes in it.
Nevertheless, you still loved the toy to death.
Holding it close, your eyes eventually began to flutter as you gradually began to feel tired. A pained sob escaped from your lips as you struggled to fight back against tears threatening to escape your eyelids. You were completely drained that you lost your sense of your surroundings, as you overlooked the sound of snow crunching that was approaching you.
Soon enough, you felt a figure in front of you, and the delicious scent of hot tea reaches out to invade your senses. Slowly looking up, a man with a red Tengu mask was kneeling in front of you, extending out his hand to offer a cup of hot tea.
Your initial reaction was confusion; who was this man? Why was he there? Why was he offering you tea? You stared at him, your eyes flickering with uncertainty and slight hesitation. He grunts softly, apparently understanding your reluctance towards him.
"You are cold, are you not?" He speaks out, his gruff voice surprisingly filled with warmth and concern.
You were taken aback from the tone of his voice; nobody had talked to you like that in months.
You kept staring at him, your mind whirling around with conflicting thoughts. You felt so unsure if you were to trust this man; he was a total stranger! And you knew better than trusting strangers so easily. However, you could detect the radiant warmth coming from him. You could sense his intentions, and it felt so genuine and true.
Steadily, with your hands shaking, you lifted your palms to accept the cup. It was hot, but it was a comforting kind of warm. You placed the edge of the cup in your mouth, and you started drinking the tea. Heat started rushing all over your body as you kept finishing your drink.
He asks for your name, how you came about in the streets, and if you had anywhere else to go. After a brief silence, he asks where your parents were in a cautious tone.
Suddenly, visions of the dead bodies of your parents erupted in your mind, and you could feel that your chest was beginning to hurt again. The familiar feeling of overwhelming sorrow began to overwhelm you, a knot forming on your throat as the familiar feeling suffocated you once again. You couldn't stop a sob from escaping your mouth, and you attempted to hide in your ragged blanket as tears began to spill away from your eyelids. The man sees your discomfort, and places his hand on your little head to tenderly caress it in an effort to console you.
Then, little quick crunches of snow speedily approached you, as a warm and thick blanket was placed over you. Your tears came to a halt as the sensation of an unfamiliar blanket was draped over you, and you looked up to meet a pair of lavender eyes that belonged to a male child who looked about your age. The boy gave you sheepish smile, and he turned his gaze to the adult who was consoling you. You learned that the lavender-eyed boy's name is "Sabito", and the old man who generously offered you tea is "Urokodaki".
In a blink of an eye, you unexpectedly find yourself sitting in a ramen shop with a delicious Ramen bowl in front of you. Urokodaki, after hearing your stomach rumble with hunger, offered to buy you a meal at a nearby restaurant. Sabito expressed his enthusiasm at this, and after seeing how much he seemed to trust Urokodaki, your doubt and uncertainty seemed to fade away as you meekly accepted his offer.
At that moment, you could sense so much comfort and tenderness radiating from both of them. It's as if all the suffering you've experienced over the last few months had simply been washed away. Yet you were still hesitant; what if it was all just a joke? They had to leave at some point, and you were afraid that you would wound up again in the cold streets.
That is, until Urokodaki offered you to stay with him and Sabito.
They were kind enough to help you out in the streets. They fed you, and they gave you a new blanket for much needed heat as you rotted away. Nobody would help you, nobody even glanced at you. They could well have ignored you like everyone else, but no, they genuinely made an attempt to help you in such difficult circumstances.
So, you agreed to go with them. Which proved to be the greatest decision you ever made.
Urokodaki's cottage was situated on a mountain, and although it was small, they nevertheless did their best to make room for you.
The first few days have been rough. Despite living under the roof a being surrounded by warm blankets, you spent those days lying awake in cold sweat. You tried your best to adjust, you really did, but the familiar feeling of sitting on ice cold gravel never seemed to leave. Not only that, as soon as you try to shut your eyes to get some sleep, the images of your parents will flash in your head, leaving you a whimpering and sobbing mess.
With Urokodaki's keen sense of smell, he could smell your distress over a mile away. He knew that you had a hard time to adjust, it wasn't surprising. However, it pained him how absolutely strong your sorrowful scent was. He could hear your loud whimpers and sobs from your room, and he felt his chest ache from your suffering.
But nothing could prepare him from what was happening behind your closed door.
There you were, thrashing around in your futon, blankets and pillows thrown haphazardly in every possible direction. Tears were continuously running down your face as you hiccuped and sobbed aggressively.
Urokodaki felt his breath hitch and, in a flash, he knelt at your side and softly raised your head to his lap. He placed a hand on your head, and he started to draw soothing circles to calm you down. Minutes passed, and it seemed like you had calmed down a bit, but tears were still running down your eyelids. After much thought, he started to sing a gentle lullaby, filling the room with soft hums and melodies.
After a while, he felt you relax as you were finally greeted with sleep. In the corner of his eye, he saw you grip onto your worn out teddy bear even tighter, and made a mental thought to do something special that he hoped will lift your spirits up.
The next morning, you woke up, pleasantly surprised that you had a decent amount of sleep, given that you haven't had a good night's sleep in ages. When you started to come back to your senses, you felt another person in the room with you.
You shifted your body to face the unknown figure, only to be greeted with a sleeping Urokodaki. He was sleeping on the cold floor, his body laying just a few feet away from you.
Days pass by, and you found yourself growing closer to Urokodaki and Sabito. You spent most of your time Sabito, and it got to the point where you even considered him as your brother. He liked to play Sword Fights with you, proudly announcing his dream to become the best version a man could ever be.
On the other hand, Urokodaki acted more like a caretaker to you. He took care you, fed you meals day after day, buying you new clothes, and even went as far as carving you little trinkets and toys to play around with. Soon enough, the harsh winter had ended, and just like the colorful spring blossoms, you transformed into a bright and optimistic child again.
You were forever grateful for Urokodaki's generosity. So of course, you would always try to help out Urokodaki in anyway you can. Cleaning the house, taking care of the plants, accompanying him in travels, you name it.
There was never a dull day when both of them were around. Laughter always filled the cottage as you and Sabito ran around, while Urokodaki silently stood there, keeping a watchful eye on the two of you. If you looked close enough, you swear you could see a smile peeking through his mask.
You later learned that Urokodaki is a trainer for upcoming Demon Slayers. Urokodaki would tell you and Sabito stories of his adventures; and they never failed to entertain both of you. While Sabito was eager and excited for the day when Urokodaki would start training him, you were still deciding whether or not you would join him and become a Slayer yourself in the near future.
Stargazing was also a thing where you, Sabito, and Urokodaki would bond about. You and Sabito would lay your heads on Urokodaki's lap as the two of you would excitedly point at the stars above. Urokodaki would gently caress your heads every once in while, and he would occasionally talk about interesting facts about the stars and moon in the night sky.
Urokodaki is a man with few words. Naturally, he only spoke when absolutely necessarily, however, there is a saying that actions speak louder than words.
On nights where you would have nightmares, Urokodaki would immediately be there for you.
"It's all right, little one. You'll be okay. I'm here for you."
He 'd reassure you, comfort you, and sing you lullabies until you were overcome by sleep again. Without fail, whenever you needed him the most, he was always right on time.
One day, he took notice of your ragged and torn up teddy bear, and asked he could borrow it. At this point, you grew even closer to him, so you trusted him and let him borrow your precious toy.
After a long day of doing chores and playing with Sabito, you were all huddled up on a fire as you all ate your supper. Sabito was rambling about random things, and you were nodding and laughing as he continued on to explain things in a "manly" manner. Urokodaki sat there in silence, watching how the two of you seemed to get along so well made his heart swell with pride. He had a surprise for you, and he hoped that you would like it.
"[ Y / N ]." He spoke. You turned your head to face Urokodaki, and you felt yourself freeze in your spot as you noticed the object in his hands.
It was your teddy bear; all patched up and clean, just like how it looked like so long ago.
It looked like Urokodaki really outdid himself; there wasn't any tears and holes where it used to have, it's dull color had reverted back to the vibrancy it used to have, and its eyes were now full of life.
Warmth quickly spread over your chest as you continued gazing at your beloved teddy bear. A gasp of disbelief came out of your mouth as your eyes began to water. You couldn't contain yourself as you suddenly launched yourself in the direction of Urokodaki, capturing him tightly in a warm embrace. A big smile transformed your lips as you shouted out your gratitude to Urokodaki; the latter only laughing softly as he returned your embrace with utmost sincerity.
Slowly, he swayed side by side as you continued your assault at him. Sabito gazed at the two of you with a loving expression on his face, as well as the feeling of joy and love continuing to engulf him. Under his mask, Urokodaki felt the sides of his lips curled upward, as he also tried to fight back against the tears that threatened to fall as you continued to nuzzle on his shoulder.
Though, nothing could prepare him for the words that you would mutter out as tears sheer joy fell from his cheeks.
"Thank you. I love you, Urokodaki-san."

Could we get Tomioka with a reader that's also a demon slayer, and almost rising up to become a Hashira? Maybe they've just completed a mission and the reader hasn't realised his more... "yandere-like" tendencies, yet.
He’s such a soft boy, a very good, very guilty boy. I’m a strong believer that he puts no cognitive thought into anything he does, and I think that’ll reflect onto his relationship.
TW: Physical Intimidation and Degragation.
~
“I did well, admit it.”
Giyuu was, by no means, your favorite of the nine pillars. Mitsuri would talk your ear off, Shinobu always had something to say about your form or your strategies, and Kyojuro would always be good for a fun story, but you’d be lucky to get more than a handful of words out of Giyuu during a single, multiple-day execution. How often you were paired with him didn’t help, Giyuu seeming to be more of a presence during your missions than the demons you were supposed to be opposing. Despite the noise of the forest, all the bird calls and crickets and the trees shifting in the wind, the silence was always tense, always heavy, his refusal to talk overpowering your desire to ignore him.
You didn’t like silence. You hated silence. And you didn’t think you could stand another minute of it, if you were being honest with yourself.
“I think I might’ve taken down more of ‘em than you did,” You went on, already knowing you were wrong. Giyuu glanced in your direction, scanning over your form briefly before continuing to disregard your existence, staring at the path ahead. If he’d heard you, he chose not to express it, responding with little more than a shrug as you prodded at his side. With a huff, you sped up, just enough to place yourself in his line of sight. “Do you think Master Kagaya will make me a Hashira, after this? I hear he’s been dying to have another pillar.”
You didn’t expect him to answer, even his cold tone came as a pleasant surprise. “That won’t happen.”
Usually, you tried to avoid disagreements. You weren’t a bad person, but the road was long, and if getting on Giyuu’s bad side would save you from another hour of awkard glances and mindless walking, you’d settle for a mixed reputation. “Is that so?” You couldn’t stop yourself from smiling, the relief that he was finally talking far more important than your common sense. “Why? Is someone jealous that I’m progressing so quickly?”
You’d always wondered how he moved so quickly, his left hand on your shoulder and his left resting on his sword’s hilt. It was more of a habit than it was a threat, by now, and you disregarded his implied aggression without a struggle. You turned to face him as he stopped walking, meeting his eyes questioningly, his gaze still as unresponsive and unfocused as you knew to expect from him. “You’re not going to move up a rank,” He repeated, prompting an irritated sigh from you. “I’ll talk to Master myself, if I have to. You aren’t going to be a Hashira.”
He was talking, and you were glad, but the boy was quickly beginning to grate on your nerves. “I’m just as strong as the rest of you.” The words were monotone, his seriousness weighing down on your optimism, but your attempts to turn away were only met by a tighter grip, his fingers digging into your shoulder like he was trying to bruise you. There would be marks left, undoubtedly, but saying that he was hurting you would only prove his point. “I get it, I’ll drop the topic. We can do your weird, quiet thing for the rest of the trip.”
He didn’t like that idea as much as you did, apparently.
You felt the metal before you saw him, the thin, sharpened edge of a blade against your neck. You didn’t see him draw his sword, you hadn’t even seen him move, but that didn’t get his weapon away from you. Giyuu didn’t give you the courtesy of moving with the same swiftness, either, as he let go of your shoulder, fingertips running up your neck before there was a hand entangled in your hair, bringing this sword ever-closer with every twitch, every subconscious action, every breath, if only to make it clear that anything impulsive wouldn’t end without blood.
Still, you’d never been one to take a hint.
“You’re acting strange, Tomioka,” You grunted, forcing your voice out through clenched teeth. You didn’t want to let him get to you, to let him know he was getting to you, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t flinch as he readjusted his hold the sword. “What do you want me to say? That yo-”
Again, he never gave you time to prepare yourself. The kiss was over in less than a second, the blink of an eye, but the pain from how roughly he’d jerked you forward and the pure shock from how little sense this made lasted much longer. His lips had barely touched yours, but his gaze was burning into you, too intense, too close. Luckily, his sword was sheathed by the time you’d blinked away your confusion, leaving you bewildered and uncomfortable, but not in danger.
Then, you glanced up, daring to acknowledge the scowl painted across his expression, noticing how he gave a final tug to your hair before he let you go.
And you decided you weren’t in immediate danger, at least.
“Know your place,” He mumbled, thankfully looking away from you as he did so. You didn’t follow him as he pushed past you, still lingering in the same spot and trying to sort out what any of that had meant before you got away. “When I say you’re allowed to do something so dangerous, you’ll be able to. Until then, stay off of active duty. It’s clear you still haven’t learned how to take care of yourself.” He paused, waiting for a response that didn’t come, but Giyuu didn’t seem too upset by your distance. “Are you coming, (Y/n)? Or do I have to show you how to do that, too?”
You were still in a haze, but you turned, letting him take your hand and lead you forward, the forest suddenly seeming so much stiller than it had, minutes ago.
But, you didn’t think you minded, anymore.

Giyuu Kinktober 7: Bloodplay
Warning: Consensual foreplay turned to non consensual blood play
NOT MY USUAL BUT PLEASE BE WARNED. I wanted to try to write something darker but I please don't read if you're uncomfortable with these things.
It was scary to you. Terrifying even. He was so much stronger, built to kill - an unstoppable force. Still Giyuu had the same blue eyes from the days when he was human, the same inky hair, the same pale skin. It just seemed supernatural now.
What had started as just a small cut had become such a mess. The two of you had been kissing, things getting dirty when you moved your arm to wrap around his neck. Accidentally your inner arm grazed too hard against his claws as he was adjusting himself as well and the tender skin gave way. Drops of blood cascaded down your arm for a moment before clotting as it should.
The demon was in no mood to allow it to stop. He was frozen for a moment, staring at the red as it moved along your skin. The man was as still as a statue, unmoving as saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth. How could you be so enticing? He couldn't get enough, physically loving you was the closest he could get to pushing away his hunger, but your blood was something else.
With speed that made you question your own sight he pounced on you, knocking you into the bed you had been working your way towards while becoming intimate. His tongue gathered the drops that gave in to gravity before sealing his lips to the cut. It was so much, so scary and confusing, and the lack of clothing left you feeling more vulnerable than ever.
"Giyuu…" The demon grunted, his eyes casting a lustful yet predatory gaze to your own. Pulling away from the cut, which looked clean from any blood, he slotted himself between your legs. Something was wrong, he seemed as if he weren't there. Still his hands graced your chest, pinching your nipples and rolling them between his clawed fingers. The renewed threat of his claws made you skirt the border between arousal and fear. You didn't know how to feel about it.
"Giyuu, I'm scared-" A loud cry broke off your concerns as claws drug down your chest, leaving red drops in the wake of torn flesh. At the same him his hips grinded into yours and you found yourself shying away from him, or at least as much as your could trapped on your back below him. His tongue lapped the blood on your chest, not shy to dip into the cuts and oddly enough sucking your nipples on occasion. The mixture of it was confusing and you didn't want to imagine what was going through his head.
He began to draw his hands down your form again, this time settling along your thighs. The demon seemed entranced watching himself hump you, dragging his length along the soft flesh of your inner thigh. Sinking of his claws into your skin let your blood flow along your leg, making it slick enough to remove any resistance as his arms pressed your legs together and pushed his length between them. The amount was concerning at it coated the insides of your legs in moments. Was he really using your blood as lube to fuck your thighs?
Your calves were thrown over one shoulder, one of his hands holding your hip and the other gripping your knee. It hurt, it hurt so much. Maybe more emotionally than physically, but you didn't want to think about that now. Not when those pretty blue eyes stared down at you with such hunger, not when his jaw went slack in pleasure to expose his elongated canines. His body tensed causing his claws to sink into the flesh they were placed over. A choked noise left you as your eyes slammed shut at the feeling. It was as if your body wasn't even solid with the easy his claws tore into your skin.
You could tell he had cum from the feeling alone, no sight was needed. Not when you felt warmth cover your stomach and heard the groan echoing from his lips. Only then could you look up at him, but your vision was taken over with the sight of your own blood. It streaked over your chest and covered your lower half, dripping down the back of your thighs to your ass, and the terror that you might bleed to death began to shift within your thoughts. Would he really kill you?
You couldn't help it, you began trembling and crying. Giyuu would kill you, no matter how much you loved him. Maybe he was right as a human, there shouldn't be exceptions to the rules. You felt your vision swirl as your sense of gravity gave way. While you were scared to move your body also felt so heavy, as if it would be best to just rest rather than face the reality of the moment. Was this shock or blood loss? You didn't know, but rather you closed your eyes as you let your mind slip into a blank space.
Giyuu heaved a few breaths, his thoughts coming back after his mind went blank. He cursed his luck at demonic urges, itching his closed eyes. Then it hit him. That smell. Blood? On his hands? Blinking his eyes open he didn't know what to believe. Was this a nightmare? Why were you bleeding?
Taking in your form, how your body was conformed to his and the blood covering you - it made his stomach lurch. He really was the monster he feared he'd become. Gently he lowered your legs, taking in the damage on you. The cuts weren't deep, or at least in need of stitches, and you hadn't gotten cold but your face had lost its color.
Seeing the cum along your stomach made him stop. Had he really done this to you for sex? Where had he been, at least mentally? You suffered so much for what? So he could get off? He was ashamed you had ever spared him. Of all people for him to hurt, it had to be you.
The demon cried, for the first time since becoming one, and found himself conflicted. Should he stay and help you, or get away from you? He should probably ask Tanjirou to slay him while he could stop himself from becoming a threat. Still he couldn't leave you, not when you were suffering.
You awoke, if you could call it that, to the former water pillar above you, cleaning your wounds gently, so much so that you hadn't really felt it. He perked up when you had woken up, so excited to see you conscious before he turned himself away, unable to look you in the eyes. Things continued this way as he wrapped you in bandages.
"Giyuu?" He turned his head to look into your eyes. It was as if he weren't the bloodthirsty demon from before, how shy and timid he was now after all of that. You just wanted to forget it but you doubted the scars would allow you. Tentatively he moved your form into his lap, your back to his chest, holding your close as you watched his hands in fear as the circled your waist.
"Sorry…" You knew he couldn't speak, not well or easily, so every word carried weight. "Hurt you… Sorry…" His voice broke at the end and you could feel his disrupted breathing trembling along your back as he held in sobs. He buried his face into your neck, where you could feel the puffs of air when he held back his crying before tears soaked your skin."I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry…"
You don't know how long he said that, he long he cried, how long he held you as if you were dying. But he was back, and that's what mattered.

Giyuu x Semi-mute Reader
Working on reposting all of my work on here! My works will be reposted over a queue and it’ll be a while til i get to some new works so please bare with me. I want to get up as much as I can of my works rather than losing it all.
Tumblr media
You were in your room as always from morning to a little before afternoon, writing and drawing and keeping track of all the records of the demon slayers. Living at the Butterfly estate wasn’t easy but you had plenty of breaks and time to yourself which were always welcome to you. You were far into your own world at your desk drawing something when a knock at the door and the sudden words of “I’m coming in!” and the door slowly opening as a head poked its way in to see if it was ok. It was Tanjiro followed by Zenitsu, you’d recognized them from the notes and descriptions of them in the records. As they walked in and stood by the door they saw you fumble with your art book trying to hide it. Tanjiro waved a hello and proceeded to speak. “I’m sorry we didn’t mean to scare you. Aoi-san asked us to bring these records to you so you could organize them!” You nodded your head in response and getting up, making sure your art book was hidden enough they couldn’t see the drawing on it and went to grab the records from Tanjiro.
You bowed as a thank you for Tanjiro delivering the papers to you. He seemed a little surprised at how formal you were but it came as no surprise to you. The most you can do to say thank you to people, especially if they don’t know sign, is to bow as a thanks or write it down. You turned around and showed him a note, one you had written. It stated, “I’m sorry I don’t speak much.” and you gave an apologetic smile at him. You’d seen Tanjiro and heard him and his friends inside the estate only recently but never properly introduced since there was really no need and it’s not like you’d see them very often unless you were needed to help treat them. You shuffled for another note on the desk that said “My names [F/N\] [L/N] but you can call me [Y/N].” You took the notes back and placed them in their spot on the table and bowed again at him.
‘Ah- There’s no need to be so formal! It’s ok if you don’t speak! We were just here to deliver the records Aoi-san gave us!” He waved his hands at you trying to ease you away from being so formal, but you only nodded a no in response. You’d realized the blonde one hadn’t said anything this whole time and looked over to where he was, except he wasn’t there anymore. You looked around the room, maybe he entered into the room more? Nowhere to be found. Tanjiro noticed you looking around and he realized as well Zenitsu had disappeared. He only mumbled “Where did he…” before he was cut off by the abrupt sound of someone opening the door.
It was Zenitsu. He held flowers in his hand and his face was flushed. You tilted your head in confusion, which seemed to make him blush harder when he looked up and held the flowers close to his chest. He tilted his face away seemingly trying to his, oh so obvious blush, as he moved his flowers towards you, gesturing they were meant for you. You blinked a few times kind of surprised he’d left to give you flowers. You smiled sweetly and took the flowers from his hands which seemed to make him really happy. You bowed as a thank you to him, which surprised and flustered him as he turned to Tanjiro seeking advice “W- what do I do?!? Do I bow back!? No one’s ever bowed at me when I gave them flowers before!?!” He seemed panicked but mostly just flustered.
Tanjiro called Zenitsu name catching his attention from his fluster. “Zenitsu, [y/n] doesn’t speak. They bowed as a thank you for the flowers.” Your face lit up a little bit at Tanjiro as he explained for you, that you don’t speak. Zenitsu seemed to notice this because he got upset at Tanjiro for both, knowing your name and making you smile. Your smile quickly turned into a forced smile as Zenitsu started bickering at Tanjiro and there wasn’t much you could do. Instead you turned around and started looking through some cabinet in your room. Zenitsu noticed and started staring at you and yelling enthusiastically about how you were going to get a present for him and he couldn’t wait. You pull out a small vase, with a cute design on it and place it on your desk in the corner and place the flowers he’d given you in it. You turn around and see that Zenitsu had absolutely lit up in excitement clearly happy you liked his flowers. Tanjiro looked at you from behind Zenitsu and mouthed something along the lines of “I’m sorry” as he grabbed Zenitsu by the collar of his outfit and started dragging him away.
You giggle to yourself and Zenitsu tries to protest but Tanjiro starts to scold him about flirting with every girl he sees. Soon they’re long gone and you head outside as well. Luckily your room is by the courtyard and you take a few steps onto the walkway looking up at the sky and onto the landscape as far as you could see. You thought to yourself now would be a good time to grab your books and draw for a bit outside and you hurried back to your room to fetch your stuff.
A few minutes later and your perched on your spot on the small bridge the estate has, your attention on both your drawing and on the scenery. When you’re drawing like this you notice all the little things that change, the people who pass by, the birds that build their nests in the trees, and the clouds as they pass by in the sky. And there’s one thing that you know you’ll always notice when he appears. Giyuu. He wasn’t there often but when he was you found yourself always studying his features and haphazardly drawing him in your book multiple times and always assumed he’d never noticed since he never looked at you or even seemed to notice when she stared at him studying his face. At least you thought so until today, when you had finished drawing and decided the bridges lowest rail would be a good spot to rest and you placed your arms and crossed them placing your head in your arms as you closed your eyes. You’d fallen asleep for a few minutes and you’d woken up to the sound of your book pages flipping.
You panicked thinking someone was going through your book and turned to your right to grab it only to be met by Giyuu who was bent down over your book and extremely close to your face. Surprised, you jump back and look down at your book. This close up he really was pretty, you thought to yourself but quickly discarded the thought as the wind blew and your books pages started flowing and you scrambled to grab it before Giyuu saw anything inside it. You held it close to your chest and looked at Giyuu waiting for a response but he gave none. Instead he stood up with a hand gesturing at you to help you up and you hesitantly took it. You stood up on your feet and avoided making any eye contact with him, but you couldn’t help but glance up at his face and see what seemed to be blu-
‘Do you want me to take you back to your room? If you’re tired, you should rest.” He interrupted your thoughts and spoke suddenly causing you to jump again and clutch your book closer to you. He seemed to notice he startled you and apologized “Ah- Sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.” He lowered his hand and gave a small bow before looking back up at you with the tiniest hint of a smile on his face. You grabbed your book away from your chest and grabbed your pencil and quickly wrote something “Its ok. If you could take me back it’d be nice”. He seemed confused as to why you wrote it down instead of speaking but he didn’t question it, only nodding his head and gesturing for you to walk.
The walk back was short and kind of awkward since neither of you talked but somehow it was nice. You studied his haori and its pattern, wondering to yourself why he’d had it split between designs, studying his hair and how it was so spiky and how pretty it was. To be honest you kind of wanted to touch it but you made sure you didn’t. You didn’t even realize you’d made it all the way to your room until you’d bumped into him accidentally taking in his scent which smelled like fresh rain that had poured. You quickly backed away when you bumped into him and looked around to see that you’d ended up back in your room. Giyuu looked confused for some reason, which confused you so you both tilted heads at each other, confused… Ah! You bowed quickly as a thank you thinking he was confused that you hadn’t thanked him. But he only stood there still confused. You raised your head and wrote down, “Thank you for taking me back to your room. You seem confused about something though, is there something I can help with?” He opened his mouth to speak but closed his mouth, putting his finger to his mouth in thought.
“[Y/N]?” You blinked a few times as he said your name waiting for him to continue.
“Are you sure youre OK? You seem dazed and even bumped into me when we'd arrived. Is there something wrong with your throat? You didn't try to speak just write it down.” Ah. So he was just worried about you. It was both relieving and flustering to you.
“ah- no I-” You quickly covered your mouth realized you’d just spoken to him despite this being your first time actually meeting him. 'Fuck' you thought to yourself. Seeing your shock and covering your mouth Giyuu wasn’t quite sure what to do. He looked around hoping someone was there to help him but there was no one.
“Sorry was that bad to ask I wasn't trying to-”
You interrupted him “No! It’s just…I don’t usually..” you got quieter as you kept talking. “talk to people is all…” You lowered your hands from holding the book so close to your face when you explained yourself. You can’t believe yourself, you don’t usually talk to people unless you know them really well. You slowly covered your face again in disbelief.
“No, it’s ok, I get it. I don’t really know how to talk to people either.” He shifted slightly seemingly ashamed of admitting that. You giggled a bit.
“Guess we’re in the same boat then, huh?” You raised your fingers to your mouth as you giggled. Maybe talking to him wasn’t so bad. “Maybe we could.. talk more often?” You asked but you weren’t so sure how he’d answer.
“I’d like that.” He’d answered more honestly than you thought. It took you by surprise kind of but you smiled at his response. He seemed to pause for a minute before seemingly giving himself a small smirk and saying “I’d also like to know why you stare at me so much and why I’m in your book so much.” Your eyes widened when he said that. He almost seemed to smirk at that. You covered your face and crouched down to the floor trying to hide your blush overcoming your face. You could hear him giggle slightly to himself, which only made your embarrassment worse.
You looked up at him slowly “You…you saw in my book..?” You already knew the answer but…
“Before you woke up earlier I was just going to pick you up and take you back to your room, but the wind flipped through your pages and I saw a few drawings and then you woke up." So he did see! You had hoped he didn’t see inside your book when the wind betrayed you like that.
“I’m- I’m really sorry!! I should’ve asked for permission first I-”
“It’s ok. You didn’t do anything bad, [y/n].” He smiled ever so softly and faintly. You couldn’t help but smile back in relief. This was a good start you thought to yourself.
