It isn’t easy, and no distractions do not help. It isn’t as if a particular thing or person is making me depressed. The best thing you can do is not try to create chaos for the one going through this. Especially if you are another adult! It👏isn’t👏funny👏for👏them. Period. Dot. In fact it is infuriating. So be kind. Let them tell you what they need, and if they don’t know. Offer to help with the dishes or a load of laundry if you can. a lot of my cds are my mum’s. i stole all her radiohead albums because i love radiohead <3 and we share a similar taste in music.

If you enjoyed All the Young Dudes, you will love sarewolf's other now completed fic "that's the art of getting by", in which Remus gets custody of baby Harry and Sirius is found to be innocent. Things seem to be looking up, but the ugliness of past betrayals and bitterness of unresolved emotions still need to be dealt with. As she lays against him, head on his shoulder, the first thing that comes to Jughead's mind is I wouldn't have it any other way. They've been through so much, faced way more than anyone their age should, just to be here. Today. At this moment, holding each other.

A fraction of second later, the pessimist that lives inside him, the shadow of the boy who was homeless, abandoned literally by his mother and emotionally by his father, told him something else. You should have it any other way. Look around. You're in the middle of nowhere in a falling to pieces trailer, in an old cot, with a used and ruined mattress. Who are you? A gang leader. A struggling young man with few to no chances of getting a good and stable life. What can you possibly offer to her?

“Juggie? Are you okay?” Betty asks, worried about him even sleepy as she's starting to drift off, her body tired and worn out from his sinful ministrations.

He takes more than a moment to reply. “I wish… I wish things could be different. Remember… well, we only joked about it, just another afternoon at Pop's, but I meant it. I truly wish we could just go and leave Riverdale… and go somewhere where all this craziness doesn't exist. You said we could be like Romeo and Juliet, but with a happy ending.” He sighs, looking around, lost in his thoughts. “I'd like that. For us to have a happy ending. I'd like that more than anything in the whole world.” Jughead looks down, to find Betty with her eyes closed, looking peacefully and utterly beautiful. A part of him is actually glad that she's sleeping through his rambling. With everything that has been going on, she needs every moment of rest she can get.

Watching her in his arms reminds him of just how lucky he is to have her, to be loved by her. He is far from deserving but he will never stop being thankful for her.

That same cynic and nettlesome voice whispers in his ear that Betty deserves better than him. More than the little he has to offer. In fact, she deserves the whole world. The thought weights on him even as sleep starts to come. Jughead adjusts his position to lay down by her side without much disturbing her place on his chest, and pressing a kiss to her forehead, he speaks again.

“One day, I'm going to do right by you, Betty Cooper. I will give you the life you deserve. A life away from the madness, the chaos, the violence. I promise.”

He closes his eyes thinking of the life he wants them to have one day. A pretty house, with a front lawn and a white picket fence. Their dream jobs and a gorgeous family with a boy and a girl who have their mother's bright, gentle green eyes with her golden locks.

Early in the morning, Jughead isn't sure of what woke him up first, the sunlight on his face or Betty moving in the bed to go to the bathroom. When she returns, she notices he's awake and comes to sit by his side, pressing a small kiss onto his lips.

“Morning, Betts,” he says with a smile, admiring how the sun is making her hair shine.

“Jug… I… heard you last night.” she finally says, not replying to his first words. For a second he tenses up since the last thing he wants is to fight, but just then, she puts a hand over his bare chest. “You said one day you'd do right by me, but Juggie, you already do. Just by being you, by being here, by loving me. You do right by me every day, and I wouldn't, I won't have it any other way. I love you. And I'm with you whether it's hail, rain or sunshine.” She leans in to press another kiss to his mouth. Then, coming up to lay by his side again in the way she loves most, Betty intertwines their fingers. “I choose you. And I'll choose whatever comes with you. The good, the bad, the Serpents. Don't forget. I’m your Queen. And we… we are partners.”
