basically i’ve been doing nothing all day and i’m way too addicted to social media and i started thinking about this so here we are. also i’m just gonna pretend social media was a big thing when they were at school (it obviously wasn’t but lets pretend this is set in like 2016 or smth)

ok so nearly everyone in the fandom is doing this and as sad as it is that we need to remind these simple things to people, I feel the need to talk about this too.

I won't make this too painfully long because I know y'all most likely already know this and I just wanna put out a basic list of shit you should always follow in the fandom. But for those who don't, a lot of fan content creators, be it artists or writers or just general fans trying to enjoy their time, have been leaving/quitting the fandom.

Why are they leaving, you ask? Toxicity. Toxicity nearly everywhere. People can't hold respectful debates or discourses on interesting topics regarding characters/the books/ships anymore without someone toxicly stating that only their opinion is correct, and going off on anyone who has different opinions carried with a lot of aggressive, rude and shallow behaviour. Fanartists have gotten death threats and are scared of drawing art for the Riordanverse without getting anxious af.

Now the thing is, having done those (eXcepT for the death threats) doesn't automatically make u an entirely shitty person. Maybe you made a mistake and came off as rude without rlly meaning to. That's okay. Here's how to identify if u ever did so, and to change that behaviour. Again, it's okay to make mistakes, but we rn as a fandom srsly need to try to turn things around.

Some basic shit you should remember being a part of the fandom:

• NO NSFW STUFF WITH MINORS!!! That means fanarts, fanfics etc. But here's the shocking thing- when someone does this, you can actually hold them accountable WITHOUT SENDING DEATH THREATS AND CROSSING THE BOUNDARIES! Cuz doing that only makes YOU stoop just as low. Pl e a s e remember that always and be respectful whatever you do.

• That being said, ppl are allowed to write nsfw stuff IF said characters are aged up, aka 18+. Ofc, it's a must that they put a content warning beforehand because many people may not want to read that. BUT, if you don't want to read it and if they've aged up the characters so nothing's morally wrong or gross, then please do NOT hate the author in the comments, do NOT report their post/account. Seriously dude, they gave warnings, if you don't want to read it just scroll past it's not that hard. Unless it's with minors, you shouldn't be reporting innocent ppl's accounts like that.

• one thing that I've seen a lack of in the fandom are trigger warnings. I've seen several fics whose covers are literally of blood. And entire chapters were written with intricate graphic descriptions yet with no trigger warnings or a tw wayyy down in the caption. you never know what may be triggering to someone if a lot of ppl see ur content but the least u can do is put trigger warnings on the most common stuff. I get that it may look aesthetically matching if it's a murder mystery sorta fic but isn't the well being of people more important?

• look I'm not saying you're not allowed to have opinions, but the problem is when you start treating your opinions like facts. I can't count the times I've seen someone state their opinion like it's facts and then trash on other's for having a different opinion. PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS. Stop attacking people for liking Jason more than Percy or vice versa, there's no rule that you absolutely have to like one or the other, ppl can like who they want. When you're stating UR opinion, it would be nice if you used stuff like "I personally think that..." or "... that's just my opinion" because again, Ur opinion is just that, not a fact.

• if you can't have discourses or discussions about certain topics respectfully and nicely then don't have them. if someone's done nothing wrong but state their opinions and you don't like it, don't go attacking them. if you don't have anything good to say, shut up and just scroll past. it's not that hard. we don't need any more negativity in the fandom. If you feel like you're about to snap, mute or block the account you don't like and move on with life. But for the love of GOD don't go out of your way to be agresive or hateful to ppl. They have feelings too and run fan accounts for fun, not to get upset and hurt.

• when a fan account owner has made a post saying what they think of a certain topic, and you comment saying you think they're wrong and they reply that you didn't get the point of their post, then chances are you most probably actually did not understand what they were saying. when this happens, pls don't go on forcing ur opinion onto them as if you got what they meant when you didn't. Maybe next time when someone says you didn't get what they were saying, ask them nicely to explain it to you instead of going off like that?

• firstly, shame on you if you've ever run a hate account. just why? how much more negativity do you want to add? if you come across a hate account please please report it and block it and tell your friends to do the same. if you're targeted in a hate post, I'm so sorry, please know that they're shallow ppl just trying to make you feel shitty, you're dont have a trashy fan account; what they say is false and done purely to spite. report and block them.

• I know Rick has written a lot of racist bullcrap and hasn't batted an eye when we complained about them, but that still doesn't give you the right to send him death threats. Again, no death threats to anyone, yikes.

• don't use fanart that's racist. don't repost them either. Piper has feathers in it? don't repost it. also if you can't exactly and properly credit artists, don't repost their art saying "credits to the artist". I've done that before too but now I understand that's not right.

• also, while we're at it, can we all please universally agree on non-racist fanon stuff and get rid of racist canon stuff? like Piper and feathers, and piper & hazel with colourful and golden eyes, Piper's stupid not like other girls behaviour, and all the other bullshit Rick has put into the books. We as a fandom don't accept it and pretend they do not exist, no racism in this place 🥰‼️

• ppl are allowed to have their own headcannons, it doesn't matter what's cannon. Don't go "but in the books it's.." because in the books there's a lot of shit, and besides, if someone wants to headcannon Percy as brown? black? totally alright! they're allowed to do so! don't go bUt pErCy iSnT pOc iN tHe bOoKs. same goes with sexualities and etc headcannons. as long as they're not erasing the already representation of a minority, it's okay to have headcannons of your own. Like Hazel is canonically black and we should respect that and bring out the best of that, yk what I mean?

That's all I have to say for now. I'm usually a very light-hearted cursed meme account on here but things are getting out of hand. I was wanting to make my 8 yr old brother get into the Riordanverse fandom but seeing the situation of the fandom rn scares me. We need to think about the kids in the future who'll be in this fandom, whose lives will be changed and shaped by these books. Surely, the older people in the fandom before us would be utterly disappointed at what it's become and it's our job to constantly look out for the fandom.

If you're leaving/have left the fandom, I'm so sorry that it got to that point, but ur wellbeing comes first, do what you feel is necessary to feel better, all of us send lots of positive vibes towards your way! and to the peeps who've still decided to stay in the fandom and use their account to talk about this issue, I cannot express how thankful I am of you for doing such an important thing right now. And to everyone - as Harry Styles once said - treat people with kindness.

I understand certain things are triggering for you but I’m wondering what the line is and where your comfort level falls, considering how you sometimes caption your own gifs. Like, how do you determine what is and what isn’t nsfw, y’know?

i am very scared to talk on this subject cause it's just my personal thoughts/feelings and i hope no one takes it a bad or personal way D: but you're very nice so i will be brave 🥺 thank you for complimenting my art 🥰🤧

it's a complicated question with a nuanced answer if i'm honest. i've tried to be black and white about it before but it's really not that simple so it's hard to express 😭

first things first i'm demisexual (we both are actually) which obv affects my relationship with sex. and my personal relationship with it is complicated for a lot of reasons (religious upbringing, eating disorder, etc) so it causes feelings of panic/distress for me. but also i write smut with my wife all the time. i'm comfy talking about it/expressing that side with her but very little with ppl outside her. i'm most comfortable with sex when i am not personally involved which is why i write about it a lot. i have no problem trying out new kinks and being really graphic about fictional characters.

^^ that said, reader insert fics make me so uncomfy bc it personally involves you. i have no interest in that LOL and it breaks the fourth wall so to speak and that makes me SO..... uncomfortable, alarmed, anxious, whatever u wanna call it. esp when you add on some are kink heavy. it's much too intense and distressing. i also just think doing that with real people without their consent is wrong but i get it.

there's grey area there cause i don't mind slash fic as much? it can still be exploitative and fetishizing for sure but there's also more of a clearly defined character? the author is gonna have their own headcanon on how the relationship works in the fic and what the people are like vs a second person fantasy porn. the perspective is diff and the goals of the writing. i actually read slash sometimes and enjoy it.

in general i don't think talking about real people sexually/graphically is right? it's one thing to say "luke looks so sexy" and another to say "i want to ride his dick" you know? and bc i'm demi, porn without plot makes me feel uncomfortable too, or i had mentioned a few days ago the warning list on fics of what sexual acts occur in the fic,,, fuck reading those has caused breakdowns/anxiety attacks before.

as you mentioned tho i listen to rap/rnb a lot and love when women are sex positive and i think it's great! also i love women LOL so i'm about that. i don't personally have a problem with ppl being that way even tho i'm ace. i do think it's hard to voice your discomfort when you're asexual tho if you're overly saturated with sexual content. it makes us look judgey/preachy when it's literally not about that at all. i would not speak on it or care if it wasn't so difficult to insulate yourself from in this fandom, unfortunately. idc if people do it as long as i can avoid it JALKDF

edit: sorry to make u read more, if you do return to read this ramble or talk to me about this (which i don’t mind!) but i also thought it was important to add that the primary thing i feel for the boys is loving/caring/affectionate. it’s very emotional and then finding them attractive is secondary or unimportant sometimes when other ppl might be focusing more on that. it’s not really my first instinct most of the time? it always surprises me actually, when others jump there and i’m so far from it.

So like imagine richie spending most of his adult living on take out and microwave dinners, and eddie spending most of HIS adulthood basically letting others take care of him which would mean neither of them having absolutely any kitchen skills which means a) hilarious kitchen shenanigans and b) the two of them slowly learning to cook together after their respective emancipations. Like finally hitting some adulthood touchstone and learning to care for themselves and gradually be human together.

2. Also wrt to richie and eddie learning to cook: it particular I just see eddie as just so deprived and emancipated in his pre ch2 life so when he’s finally liberated himself so to speak, I feel like he’d just be so ravenous for everything. All the things he never let himself enjoy before: sex, experiences, adventure, traveling, etc. and I think learning to love and be passionate about/have a relationship with food that’s more than just utilitarian is a huge aspect of his missed individuation.

3. And for richie like yeah it’s about learning to self care and cutting out time to take care of yourself. But it’s also about intimacy and love. He gets to spend time with someone who he loves and who loves him learning something that’s healthy for both of them and that eddies excited about. And he’s never cooked with someone before. And what’s more he’s got this whole new way of showing he cares by being able to cook for eddie. Like cooking for ppl is absolutely a form of love and caretaking.

4. Thank u 4 coming to my ted talk. I just like the inherent domesticity and GROWTH of them giggling like idiots after destroying their fourth skillet over something dumb but not being disheartened or upset about it because this is what growing is and hey the company ain’t too bad and failing together is fun and gives them good stories at loser reunions. and slowly after time they just aren’t destroying their appliances anymore and they’re getting good at it. Anon!!! Anon I want you to know I’ve thought about these messages so often ever since you sent them and I’m sorry I’m only getting to it now, but every time I do think about it I go crazy. I go wild. This is so fun and smart and lovely and I really want a 20k fic about it.

I really don’t know what to add tbh, this is so good. I’ve read so many great takes and even fics that take the time to mention perhaps, Eddie having disordered eating patterns while growing up, or orthorexia as an adult. Having first Sonia and then Myra do all the cooking for him, (taking care of him, Eddie-bear) is such a fundamental thing to be out of his control. His literal fuel. It’s just another thing about his relationship to his body that he’s disconnected from, and you’re so right about a healing post-ch2 Eddie who’s suddenly ravenous for all the things he was starved of before.

How did Eddie know so well, how to beat IT, how to make IT small in the first place? Because Eddie has been made small all his life, he knows the effects of being stunted, starved of real love and experience.

So, by Richie being there as they learn to cook, encouraging each other, it’s taking real care. I circle around this concept constantly but like, them being able to care for each other in ways that AREN’T “smothering” or “greedy” or all the other unhealthy ways they’ve feared to love before, it makes them better!! It makes me wanna unscrew the top of my head and pull my brain out!

So yeah, it’s a huge thing for Eddie to take back that control. I’m also a terrible cook so it makes me happy to imagine their cute panicky struggles together as Richie accidentally cuts a finger and bleeds into the chilli, or Eddie irreparably burns his latest wok. Oh god, what if they start off by watching YouTube cooking videos and that’s how they find Brad Leone and that’s how Richie winds up on It’s Alive—

Anyway. Recently I’ve been kinda digging the idea that Richie does know how to cook because Richie/competency is my real OTP, but it’s more likely he’s the microwave dinners and instant noodles type. So even if he DID know how to make pasta, at least, he never got to make it with anyone else.

Now he gets to throw spaghetti at a wall to see if it’s cooked (you better believe he has a field day with those jokes.)

He gets to accidentally add way too much spice to the stir fry before, to laugh and sweat and gasp and playfully make Eddie chug a glass of milk, because they know he’s not lactose intolerant, dammit.

He gets to send a photo of Eddie to the group chat, wearing sunglasses and holding a wooden spoon clenched in his teeth as he determinedly chops onions. Captioned, “Don’t look now, but there’s a celebrity in my kitchen 😎”

He gets to wear an apron, and feel Eddie press up behind him to toy with the strings knotted into a bow just under Richie’s stomach. To feel Eddie ruck up the hem of the apron to hold his hips, while Richie stirs something, always giving Eddie first taste to make sure it’s any good.

They get to play music, and dance, eat and wash up and lie around with their stomachs full of food they made together!!

disclaimer that i’m not fluent either ajsfioajsf but first of all i have a post here with some helpful links n resources! the howtostudykorean and talktomeinkorean links are especially good and helpful imo!

i’d say to stay away from romanization as much as u can while learning korean!! a lot of the romanization for the korean sounds isn’t very accurate imo, like it’s just very close but never the same bc we’re trying to approximate sounds from one language and match them up with another, so it’s best to rly become familiar with how the sounds are pronounced by native speakers! being very familiar with the sounds will also help you if you have to look up a word you heard someone say and spell it right based on sound. it’s just super important! mm what else…

i think it’s really good to listen to just…as much spoken korean as you can. if you like kpop as i’d assume u do if u found my blog, it’ll be easy to find shows and stuff to listen to! even tho listening without subs will be good practice later on, if you don’t know enough yet i rly dont think that’ll help? i see other ppl say to do that but…you’ll just be suffering for 40 minutes lol…so i think watch with eng subs but listen really Actively…if you keep seeing the same word written in the eng subs and hearing the same word said in korean over and over again, that word is probably the one u keep seeing in the subs! like matching it up like that is rly helpful. it might also be written in the korean captions, which are rly helpful to read too. if you can’t understand what is being said in a video and there’s no subs, you can usually get some kind of grasp on at least the mood from those krn captions. the editors put a lot of thought into those. is this making sense? feel free to ask and i can try to calrify anything i said lol

reading idol’s captions on instagram or their tweets is really good practice. they usually use vocab within the same realm, stuff like good morning and not to get sick, when they’re going to see fans, if they liked the weather. it’s simple but useful stuff usually mixed in with a few words that’ll be unfamiliar so u can look them up and grow ur vocab. they’re usually pretty short so it’s good practice that isn’t super tough, and bc most fandoms have a few translators, you can compare what you thought it said with the translation. even if you missed half of it or whatever, it’s still a start, and no matter what you do it WILL take time to learn!! it’s definitely not something anyone masters in like a month. i actually don’t study traditionally very often at ALL but i’ve been exposed to korean for like 5 years so i’ve had a lot of time to pick up on stuff, and of course i take it more seriously now, but it might take a while and that’s fine!! any progress is still progress!! if you follow some ppl in the langblr community they have a lot of tips on how to learn languages and where some good resources are, im sure i didnt include them all on my post, and there’s a lot out there!

i also REALLY recommend reading stuff out loud to yourself. having an accent isn’t necessarily a problem but if your accent is too heavy when you’re speaking the langauge people will definitely have trouble understanding you, and there’s a lot of ppl who actually know korean really well and have an excellent command of the language but when i hear them talk their accent is really strong or they’re even pronouncing stuff wrong. i think it’s best to not neglect the speaking portion of learning a language! and also it will help you think in korean when you have to do things like write in it or something.

there’s also an app called hellotalk that you can use to talk to ppl!! while it’s not Full of creepy ppl there can be a few, but the app tries really hard not to let that happen, so it’s mostly fine! and you can choose which age group you’re comfortable with messaging and if you only want the same gender or others as well. it’s good to get used to conversations in korean and also ppl can help you correct your mistakes. another app, hinative, is good if u have a question you wanna ask real quick about a word or a phrase or what it means, or if the way you’re phrasing something sounds natural etc it’s a rly handy app to have and u normally get an answer fairly quick! that’s all i can think of rn but if i think of anything else i’ll add it! i hope this was helpful MWAH!!!

oh i actually just thought of something lmao. if you learn the common grammar structures first, it’ll be ready easy to pick out vocab. for example in this very basic sentence 학교에 가요 which means “i go to school” 에 is the location marker and means “at/to” basically, and 가요 is a conjugation of a verb 가다 which means “to go” so if you have 학교에 가요 and you know that the non-bolded portions are just a grammar point and a conjugated verb and so far all u have is “i go to ___” , the only word you’re missing is school, which has to be 학교. idk if that made sense!! but i sure hope so

Kourtney’s submission

I love the latest meditating picture(1) she shared, the caption was perfect as well. I’m all for promoting what you love and whatnot but she comes off as a phony, ya know? I don’t care if celebrities share their gym experiences or like when Le@ Michele shares 900 green juice photos (gross!) because it’s just them sharing what they love. But with G it always seems like she’s sharing the picture to show off how much better she is than anyone else but in a subtle way. I’m always thankful, meditating keeps me sane, I use a 600$ blender because it gets my kids to eat their vegetables. It’s never just a simple “I mediate because I like too” or “We put vegetables in smoothies so the kids will actually eat right”. There’s always some underlining meaning to her captions and it’s mind boggling that people can’t see that. Or they see it and they’re choosing to ignore it for the sake of a peaceful Tumblr experience.(2)

Her need to share Girl Power and Girls Run The World is getting old. I’m all for unity and bringing each other up rather than tearing each other down but she’s going about it the wrong way. Your daughter needs to know the sky is the limit and she shouldn’t be held back just because she’s female but she doesn’t need to know that she’s better than another person because she’s female. Her two boys don’t need to grow up thinking they need to step aside so there sister can shine and she doesn’t need to grow up thinking they should step aside for her because she’s female. G is teaching her that she’s entitled all because she was born with a vagina. Again, I’m all for being a feminist and teaching girls AND boys that we’re all equal but I’m not about to get behind someone that wants her daughter to feel better than her own siblings just because she’s a girl. It’s wrong.(3)

Not even going to lie but when I saw the picture she shared of her and T with the caption “This was snapped right before a 🐝 headed right in our direction…. 🙃 thanks to ___ and ___ we have an apiary. Who wants some P@dalecki honey? 🍯” (4) my knee jerk response was to roll my eyes. I’m all for doing our part to bring back the bees but getting an apiary in your backyard seems a tad extreme. I just imagine these kids going to school and being asked what they did over the weekend and them talking about the pictures being taken.(5) Kids don’t have a filter so I can’t imagine what T has to tell his teacher after a weekend at home or whatever. The funniest part of the photos is that she couldn’t even be bothered to change her top or anything. It’s obvious that certain pictures were taken on the same day and others on another.(6) But generally speaking they were taken all around the same time because the bump is pretty much the same size. I will say that with T she gained weight throughout her body. She wasn’t fat by any stretch of the imagination! But her cheeks were fuller, she looked a little more tired and honestly pulled off the being pregnant look better with him than she did with the other two.(7) If you look at the pictures of her doing yoga you can see the outline of the photographer being reflected in the window. And then if you look at the picture of them in bed with S being held over her head you can again see the photographers shadow!(8) We all knew the photos were done by a professional but that just made my a little nauseous because it just seems so wrong to put your kids in their pajamas and create a wonderful family moment like that just for a blog or whatever. Jessica @lba owns her own company, has a website and an Instagram for said company but never once has she used her kids to promote her things. Yeah over Halloween she did her daughters makeup using her product but that was it. Promote your project and perfect life all you want but why add your kids in it like they’re props? It’s just wrong.(9)

Speaking of websites, I’m not sure if you know this but G actually had a website before!(10) It was a fan dedicated website that this one girl ran and G approached her about it. They met up a few times and the girl made sure that all content on the website was completely true and even got G to do a Q and A video. G ended up co-running the website with her until it was taken down because the girl just didn’t want to run it anymore and I’m assuming G realized how odd it would be for her to run her own fan dedicated website. But yeah one day the girl asked G if she could do a meetup and maybe meets some fans, G agreed and they went to lunch. Wanna know who made a surprise visit during lunch? J did!(11) It was such a surprise too, I mean it’s not like G asked him to come or anything. Yeah, I don’t believe that either. That’s why I was surprised that she was creating another website because I didn’t think she had enough of a life outside of J to actually have one just as her own. That sounds really harsh and I apologize for that but if you look at her life she has nothing that’s just her own. It always comes back to J.(12) I did see her new website before it became password protected and I truly hope people take what she posts with a grain of salt. There were sections for parenting, recipes, fashion, lifestyle and a couple others. I’m all for giving advice but I don’t want a first time mom going into her blog and taking everything she says for fact. She talks a lot about things (home birthing, organic living) like she’s an expert and that’s not good.(13) G does have people that look to her for advice and take her word as gospel so I hope she keeps that in mind and puts somewhere in her blog how she’s not an expert on these topics.

I forgot last post but I wanted to say I agree whole heartedly about J and D sharing photos of the kids lately! What is up with that? J actually told the paparazzi in Vancouver he did not want little J photographed.(14) They could photos of him and D all they wanted but his daughter was off limits. They very rarely shared pictures of her and when they did it always came from them, not a family member or friend because they didn’t want it to be stolen. Fine, I get it, you want her to be shielded from the media and the crazy side of the fandom. But now it’s like here’s a picture of the twins, here’s a picture of J, here’s a picture of us being happy together, here’s a video where you can actually hear little J’s voice. Which, again, wouldn’t be weird had they not been so protective of her. That situation has honestly thrown me for a loop and I can’t think of a reason for the sudden love of sharing pictures of their kids.(15)

I’ll tell you about my theory as to why she remained silent on the A_F campaign in another submission so you don’t have to read an essay because I didn’t realize how long this was until I started writing this! Hahaha, sorry!

okay !! i’m not gonna bother with the application process, because it’s the same as any rp. i’mma skip right to the account part. this guide is gonna be more of a “ cool things about twitter rping ” than how to do it, because doing it is really easy. BUT ANYWAYS...

YOUR ACCOUNT ( pt. 1 )

obviously, you’ve gotta go through all the steps involved in making a twitter account, but that’s just comprehensive stuff. the real work comes in when you’re setting up your profile ( and even then, it’s not too hard ). the first thing you do is choose a twitter handle. for me, i usually stick to what i know & i put it in all caps — dont ask why, it’s just a thing. generally, my handles are one of the following: 1800NAME, NAME2ADJECTIVE, POTUSNAME, FLOTUSNAME, or any of the general tumblr urls ( 1800ALLY, ALLY2EXTRA, FLOTUSALLY, etc ). i recommend one of these variations or looking at the other twitters for the other characters’ handles for inspiration.

YOUR ACCOUNT ( pt. 2 )

okay !!!!!!! for me, choosing a display name is the Hardest part.. im fake and i change it five seconds after i choose one,, BUT again, i usually look at the other charas for inspiration, but when in doubt, i always go with my favorite tv/book/movie characters, like BOBBY BRiGGS. or HARLENE QUiNZEL. or smthn like that. if that doesn’t interest you, then memes are a good way to go. at least 4 ppl in the rp i’m currently in have some variation of ‘cash me ousside’ as their display name, so memes are a safe route as well. you can also make it into an inside joke with another character if you’d like, just like in the picture i used for the graphic, as one of my charas is good friends w/ another and is “ dragging ” him in her name. it’s really up to you !!

YOUR ACCOUNT ( pt. 3 )

bios are easy,, usually any tweet from tfln ( texts from last night ) is a safe route to go and that’s what i use before i interact with people. after that, i usually use an indirect or something funny someone in the rp has said.

YOUR ACCOUNT ( pts. 4 & 5 )

this is for your icon + header, but those are both easy. your icon, obviously, should be a picture of your fc, but your header can be anthing from a nice andscape to a headass meme. usually when a chara gets into a relationship or is good friends w/ someone, they set them as their header. it’s a sign of true love to have each other as your headers.

TIPS & TOMFOOLERY

( 1 ) first thing most people do is post a selfie, again captioned with a tweet from tfln. i usually always post 2 pictures just because i like the way it looks, but it’s all up to you how many you post.

( 2 ) general tweets: literally just tweet whatever your character is thinking or whatever they’re doing in that given moment. for example, when i’m eating, i usually tweet as my chara eating the same thing or something along those lines. let art imitate life XD

( 3 ) when searching for indirects, you search your character’s name -theirhandle ( ally -1800ALLY ), because if you just search the name, it’ll show your tweets, and you don’t want those. once that’s searched, select the cogs in the search bar and select “ people you follow ” and look at that !! indirects !! if your character has a popular nickname, then you might have to search more than just their full name.

( 4 ) THREADS !! a lot of people make twitter threads, which is a collection of tweets that are linked. for example, when you live tweet a movie or a show, you reply to your last tweet + erase your handle. make sure to reply to the latest tweet or it won’t work. i currently have a vine thread, which means i have to link the tweet the vine was posted in, which is also super easy. when you find the vine ( or any tweet you wanna link ), select the drop down arrow and choose ‘ share tweet via ’ and paste that link into your reply for the thread. voila !

( 5 ) dms are Amazing bc ur chara can do literally anything in them. wanna send a funny video to a buddy ? do it !! wanna make a group chat to talk mad shit ( IC ONLY GUYS PLS ), do it !! want ur Rude & Badass chara to be s*ft for a sec ??? do that shit !!

( 6 ) talking ooc is also easy, as you just add ‘ / ’ before anything you say, on the timeline and in the dms so everyone knows it’s you and not your character ( / lms for plots and shit !! ).

( 7 ) blocking vs. muting: when u block people, you can choose to see their tweets on their profile, but they can’t see yours at all. if you decide to unblock them, you’ll have to refollow them. they will also know that you blocked them, as your profile shows it. if you mute someone, however, you’re still following them & they can see your tweets, but you don’t need to see their on the timeline. they also won’t know if they’re muted.

( 8 ) NIGHT MODE IS A GODSEND & U WILL THANK ME AS SOON AS U TURN IT ON !! it’s honestly the most beautiful thing, as it makes the app navy blue instead of white and now ?? when i turn off night mode i feel blinded. it’s just so amazing ( choose the cog on your profile and select “ turn on night mode ” ).

all in all, twitter rping is just like shitposting... but make sure to keep the memes at a moderate level, because people who make their charas a walking meme are Never fun.. it’s ridiculous and So Fucking Annoying so ! i recommend u find a good balance between actually rping and spewing out the memes, ygm ?? anyways, happy twitter rping !!

i once again hv another question about subtitles but again, if its too much or u just dont feel like answering its absolutely fine dont worry about it 🌹

this one is rather more specific,

is it better to add the subtitles as an option (like the cc option on yt) or is it better to hv it there all the time as a part of the video (like some lyric videos that hv subtitles in them)

the thing is, idk what to do here bc personally i wanna add the subtitles as a part of the video bc that way they always hv a specific place. ive seen videos where the subtitles r very distracting bc they cover an important part of the frame. also ive noticed that some ppl dont even notice some videos hv subtitles available bc they r unfortunately used to being ignored so they don't even check to see if its an option.

on the other hand i know some ppl get distracted by subtitles and also bc i like adding tone indicators to mine, some ppl get very mad for some reason when u specify something is sarcastic for example??? like "how dare u tell me this is sarcastic do u think im dumb????" (yknow just ableist bs)

so idk what to do. i think adding subtitles to videos is definitely better but i thought i should ask someone more qualified than me.

you’ve summed up a lot of the pros/cons of hardcoded verses softcoded subtitles very well! different people prefer one or the other for all the stuff you said but neither is definitely better so go with what’s easier to you

i think generally though if the platform you’re using has a softcoded option (like youtube’s captions) it’s nice to use that for the added flexibility- and idk if this applies to you but when community captioning was still very robust softcoded captions made it way easier to translate subtitles. but youtube fucked that up, right?? i will never forgive them

if you’re crossposting to a ton of different platforms, you’ll have to recaption on everything though, whereas hardcoded you only caption once

What are your thoughts on twitter stealing tumblr gifmakers gifs?

i feel like my thoughts are pretty well known about gifs in general, but fuck twitter for that shit honestly. no one was ever making gifs for fuckin twitter, lmao.

and i think what annoys me is that no one does the due diligence to pay attention to stolen gifs on this website, so what makes me or any other gifer for that matter, think that people will pay attention to stolen shit over there? like, most of twitter’s content is already stolen as it is, and now it just makes the problem even worse by allowing people to do that.

i’ve never had an issue with my stuff being used as reaction gifs. my issues are people taking my shit, recoloring it and posting it. posting the entire set or a handful of one set or taking mine and others to make their own little + caption.

if gifers wanna make content for twitter - ok fine. but who the hell is gonna monitor it?? bc i s2g twitter is 10x worse than tumblr. do i wanna go back to labeling my stuff with my user? no bc we all decided how awful it makes the set. but goddamn if it doesn’t make me wanna go back and start doing it.

for anyone who makes gifs, i’d check out this blog post. i need to implement it, but it prevents ppl from right-clicking on your blog. is it fool-proof? no, but like.... fuck people who steal.

i’m not exaggerating when i say that gifs take for-fucking-ever to make. it’s not just about pretty colors - you gotta find the downloads, cut it up, import it, resize, color uglie ass fucking scenes (which can take experimentation for every. single. gif. in a set bc guess what???? computers read colors very differently than the human eyeballs - so if a scene looks all the same color, lmao, guess again!!!! you’re fuckin lucky if you can take your coloring and copy and paste it onto another gif and it actually look good), add dialogue if needed, and then make sure it fits within the guidelines.

i suppose gifs aren’t regarded as detailed or as important as physically drawing pieces - after all, those get way more credit and support. but just bc i don’t own the content doesn’t mean there wasn’t creative thinking involved.

and i’m sorry for my rant. none of this anger is at you but at everyone who’s ruined people’s desire to make gifs bc they couldn’t just ask us to make something for them OR not learning how to do it themselves.

SR and MR worriedly fuss over WY’s eyes. WY says she’s OK, just stings a little. MR thinks WY’s mum is too much. If it were her who ranks 2nd, her mum would proudly announce it to the neighbors 😂 She adds that WY’s mum should be thankful to hv a kind daughter like WY. WY sighs, saying her mum is indeed too much. MR then asks if KJ manages to contact her…cuz the previous night he went out of the house after not being able to contact WY. MR notes that KJ must be liking WY for real, cuz he knows right away when WY has a problem. WY scratches her nose, lying that he doesn’t contact her at all. .

Flashback to the morning “kiss”. KJ is very shocked after realizing what he’s done. He stammers, “b-b-because your eyes seems to be hurting..so I…no..I just…suddenly..without realizing..” Then he goes on his knees, apologizing profusely to WY, saying that he wouldn’t do such thing again. WY says if he does it again, she’ll report it to the police (though she’s blushing hard while saying this lol). KJ says she can report him. WY then asks her not to come to her house again, KJ agrees. WY also tells him not to tell his friends, KJ says he’d never. Then WY says, “thank you,” KJ raises his head in shock. WY ruffles his hair, “Thank you for worrying about me..but still from now on don’t sleep in front of my house..it’s not good for your body.” Puppy KJ instantly says, “Yes, noona”😂 WY jokingly yells, “I’ll report it!!” and KJ shuts his mouth comically 😂 WY then asks him to return home, so his parents won’t be worried about him. KJ says it’s OK, cuz they live separately anyway. WY asks why. KJ says the situation is hard to explain..but basically ‘this oppa’ has a fight with her father then leaves home. WY asks if he ran away. KJ says he wasn’t running away…Green Nam also knows where he lives now and he sees his mum often as well. He tells WY that there’s nothing to worry about…that he’s just not contacting his father for a long time already…his father might even feel comfortable there’s no annoying son 😂 WY still worries since it’s his father.

KJ calmly says that’s because she doesn’t know Nam Sun-Jang (his father) who even made a bet when KJ fought someone in middle school 😂 WY says that his father might do that cuz he’s worried about KJ. KJ snorts, saying that he had countless fight with his father… WY looks at him with concern. KJ then awkwardly says that the fight during middle school wasn’t initiated by him…though WY might not believe it. But surprisingly, WY says she believes him..and asks KJ to call his father first. KJ is like “Why…suddenly?!” WY smirks and tells him, “aren’t you a good kid?”……KJ replays this scene over and over in his mind, with different version ofc 😂😂😂 In his mind, it’s Angel Wooyeon who said “you’re the kindest, coolest, and sexiest guy, aren’t you” #imaginationrunswild 😂😂😂 His three bffs only stare at him, wondering wth happens this time lol. .

Meanwhile, at school, WY sits at the school field by himself and stares at the number of missed calls from Mum in her phone. She sighs, “I told Nam💩 to call his dad first..but I..I really don’t wanna pick up the call..” Flashback to her childhood. She narrates that she used to be proud of his mum, cuz she’s pretty and confident. She even prayed every night to be like her mum when she’s grown up…but she didn’t turn to be like her mum. Her mum turned to be a scary mum for her. Ppl even asked her if her mum is a stepmother, but little WY told them not to talk bad about her mum [She narrates, “Even if other people saying such things, I never bring myself to hate mum]. Scene shifts to another place (it looks like a court for me? Or prosecutor office? Idk haha). WY fell down and cried. Her mum kindly calmed her down. Then they both heard other people talk about their family. Basically they said that WY’s dad married an unpopular ballerina..the talk about the impossible (as in very annoying or arrogant) son and how greedy he is just like his dad..how they often heard he was a genius since he was a kid. They continued that even after those big talk, he only worked as a part time lecturer…and he was so unfriendly since he was younger.They talked about how he’s become like that cuz he swallowed everything his father feed him (as in believe all the praises given to him..he believe he’s that great). They then talk about he’s lucky cuz he managed to land in his previous job again…they then talk about his female sister who seems to be so different from him..at this moment, mum covers WY’s ears, so she couldn’t hear all the bad talks directed to her. WY narrates that at that time, the hands covering her ears were so warm and she couldn’t think mum as scary. At the present time, WY thinks that mum also hates WY being talked badly by others..that maybe what she’s done is her way to protect WY… “but if a kid feels hurt, isn’t it the wrong way to show affection?”

[EPILOGUE] KJ is agitated and annoys TS. He then decides to go outside and calls his dad. Dad isn’t picking up and KJ is like, “HAH!!! SEE? HE DOESN’T EVEN PICK UP” 😂 But his father finally picks up (at last!), “Maknae? Did you get into an accident?” 😂😂😂 KJ instantly flares up, “DO YOU ALWAYS THINK I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT?!!” His father: “then why do you call in the middle of the night, damn wench?? I was shocked!” 😂 KJ: IT’S JUST BECAUSE I HAD A PROMISED WITH SOMEONE..SO. I. HAVE. NO. CHOICE. His father: How dare you talk like that to your father, wretched kid?!! KJ: I LEARNT FROM YOU (LOL 😂). I’LL HANG UP. His father: Hey.. Hey.. wait, wait!!! KJ: What? His father: Do you need money? (😂😂😂). Should I give you? KJ: Nam Sun-Jang, I don’t need money. I have frigging lots. His father: WHAT, BASTARD?? A STUDENT SHOULD ONLY STUDY, WHERE GOT MONEY?!! KJ: *pissed* *stomping his feet* ARGH WHATEVER I SAID, CAN’T YOU JUST PRAISE ME? I’VE BECOME LIKE THT BECAUSE OF YOU!! WY prepares to go to school early again. Her mum stops her, “You don’t eat breakfast again?! Why you don’t answer me?!” (Cuz WY completely ignores her). WY tells her, “I’ll answer you if you respect me.” Her mum is angry -_-/// Her father asks why so noisy in the morning. Her mum smiles and says nothing happens. WY excuses herself. She narrates that mum hasn’t changes since then, still treats her as an insignificant being. But she decides that she won’t just feel hurt and accepts it, because she’s now a different WY. .

At WD’s school, the kid is making fun at Bonggu again, calling him “Babonggu” (as in Babo-Bonggu – stupid Bonggu). But BG doesn’t seem affected. WD looks at them and feel annoyed. He then asks BG if that’s his real name. BG says his name is “Mun Bonggu” then WD says he shouldn’t let ppl make fun of him. BG cheerfully says he’s OK and he’s rather stupid anyway. WD is like, “kbye. I’m not friend with stupid ppl” 😂 Poor BG instantly says, “Then I won’t be stoopid!” WD says, “then writes your name properly” BG writes his real name on a paper innocently 😂 WD yells that he doesn’t mean that.he meant BG should also act properly, wipes his snots, and be serious.. BG hilariously follows what WD says 😂 The other kids look at them, thinking they’re funny and WD seems different nowadays. The bully leader doesn’t seem pleased, asking his friends just to go and play with them then. Meanwhile, WD’s mum meets other mums…and I hv no intention to read this part at all 😪😪😪 *skips*.

Scene shifts to Green and Sunho who are busy painting. Green is surprised to learn his brother has called their father, thinking that he must have eaten something wrong 😂😂😂 Sunho asks why the parents only call her. Green says it’s because she’s the kind one 😂 Sunho says, “how proud” and wipes a trace of paint on Green’s cheek. Green is flustered..she recalls that time when he said “then you’ll take responsibility?” But he said he was only joking at the end haha. Green slips away from his touch, randomly says “Sunho you’re a good friend Ha-Ha-Ha” 😂

Then Sunho tells her to treat him well while she can. Green is like, “where are you going?” Sunho answers that he’s going to enlist in the military, to her shock. He says he’ll go after this semester ends. Green is upset, asking why he didn’t tell her sooner. Sunho asks why he should. Green is flustered, saying “cuz we’re bff.” Sunho sighs and says that’s why he’s telling her now, not like he’ll enlist tomorrow. Green tries to joke, asking should she go with him 😂 They’re then interrupted by a group of Sunho’s friend. They talk while she stares of him intently. .

SR and WY go to MR’s class to go home together. MR surprises them by wearing makeup. They both praise her “pretty”. MR asks WY to try, but WY refuses. MR asks why and notes that WY will look pretty with makeup. WY says she knows, but she’ll look prettier without 😂 MR shivers, “where did you get that confidence from” lol. WY says she’s content with herself now, she doesn’t even have any pimples. MR then wonders if she should erase her makeup. WY asks why should she..she looks pretty. MR dejectedly says that she looks weird. SR cheers her up, saying ppl who wanna wear makeup should just do it, and vice versa. MR then decides to keep it on. They then walk home together. MR asks them to eat tteokbokki together. WY is reluctant to go..but MR whines, saying she’s very hungryyyy. WY concedes and lets MR drags her to a place…where Daewoo and his gang are eating. KJ is also there..he instantly spits his food when he realizes WY is coming 😂

At the restaurant, KJ tries to feed WY, earning glares from their friends (TS: “YA!! U think we hv no mouths??!” aka they wanna eat too..but KJ gives all to WY lol). WY is uncomfortable with his attention, telling him to eat. KJ happily announces to his friends, “See? She only asks me to eat 😍 Only me 😍” 😂😂😂 After they eat, KJ continues hovering around WY, saying it must be fate that they meet today lol. WY glares at MR who’s busy flirting with TS, realizing it’s the real reason why she wears makeup today lolol. KJ then shyly tells WY that he called his father. WY is happy to hear that, asking if he finally makes up with his dad. He says it isn’t like that..he’s been going on about coming to Seoul, so bothersome 😂 WY notes that his dad must be missing KJ. KJ snorts that his father will just beat him up 😂 He then asks how’s WY’s mum. WY says sadly that she hasn’t made up with her mum. KJ tells her to leave home like him…so she’ll open her eyes on how precious her daughter is. WY says that’s impossible. KJ ruffles her hair, saying that if she has nowhere to go, he’ll take care of her 😂 WY hits him, “Don’t say such rubbish!!” KJ whines “I said I would. You don’t trust oppa?” 😂 TS hears their exchange, gritting his teeth “that bastard still lives in my room tho” haha. On the other hand, MR asks since when TS has become so tall (TS: maybe since elementary school) and when he’s become so handsome (TS: since birth)…SR just stares at them from behind. DW tries to take the opportunity to confess to SR, giving her flowers. SR just treats him coldly…and just interested in “Songra” (something used as a herbal medicine) she accidentally finds amidst the flower bucket. DW cries, thinking SR accepts his flowers…SJ is like “I don’t think so, DW-ah” lol. TS just watches this exchange. .

They finally arrive at the girls’ cram school. WY asks KJ to just go back since she has to go inside. KJ insists to stay until he makes sure WY goes inside safely. WY then suddenly recalls that YR 🐍 said KJ was her ex bf. She’s about ask KJ about that (KJ: OMO you wanna ask me something? You finally have interest in me? OMO wait I need to prepare myself)..but get interrupted by DW who yells loudly, “ARE YOU GUYS FINALLY DATING?” 😂😂😂 WY is flustered and runs away…while KJ kicks DW in fury. Meanwhile, at school, WD does his detective-like observation toward clumsy BG. When he notes that BG is good at jumping rope, BG instantly jumps more excitedly. Their classmates laugh at his antics 😂.

At home, WY receives a chat from Green..announcing that they may bring one friend to SF meeting this week. WY recalls that YR asked her a favor…to meet KJ just once more. WY sighs, thinking she has no right to refuse YR..but..*a flashback to KJ who adorably tried to feed her*..WY shakes his head, tells herself she’s being unreasonable and they aren’t even dating anyway. She then decides to text YR 🐍 to invite her to SF meeting. YR received the text, smirking 🐍🐍🐍

WD is staring at “Mun Bonggu Report” and WY suddenly appears behind him, asking what’s that. WD is startled, “why didn’t you knock?!” WY says she’s knocking but heard no answer then asks if Bonggu is his friend. WD says he isn’t, yet. He’s still running a test against Bonggu, to see if he’s worthy to be WD’s friend..but he’s found no merits yet, so he questions if BG can live up to his standard. He further says that BG is good at nothing, too kind, and always has snots coming from his nose lol. WY says that BG must hv one strength. WD agrees that he should’ve one, since he’s living in this harsh world. WY smiles, saying that he can have one strength, which is having WD as his friend. WD frowns. WY says that WD should just decide it using his heart. WD says mum says he should judge based on certain standards..also to decide whom to date later. WY sighs heavily, then asks him IF one day she dates someone unmatched to WD’s criteria, would WD hate her. WD instantly says, “then don’t date such guy!!!” WY smiles, “You’ll be sad right?” Then she advises WD to just be friend first and see later, that way is cooler. WD snorts, saying it’s bothersome. .

Meanwhile, KJ is having a photo shot. The photographer praises him and asks TS why KJ doesn’t just debut officially. TS says that it’s impossible and reminds him about the incident few years ago. That photographer asked KJ to help him. He’s kinda hitting a rock bottom in his career and there’s one photographer can help him…but KJ was getting mad when he’s being forced to smile etc, etc… Anyway back to the present, the photographer grimaces and says it’s impossible indeed 😂 DW appears and asks KJ to hv lunch together but he’s still angry (for interrupting him and WY before) and beats DW up 😂😂😂 .

WY is working hard to draw TS and MR pic. MR boasts it to SR, saying that their chemistry is sizzling hahaha. SR coolly says that TS has a girlfriend and tells MR that she met him by chance not too long ago. Even telling MR that the gf seems to be way older than him. MR flares up, accuses SR that she’s painting TS bad.. Then goes on with her delusion about oh-so-perfect-TS 😂😂😂

At school, WD recalls what WY tells him and starts helping BG to pick the scattered balls. He tells BG that doing it together will save time, “You don’t need to thank me”. BG is happy, “I won’t thank you” 😂 They bring the basket together, then the bully leader deliberately bumps into BG and causes the basket to spill over. WD asks him to help picking up the balls again if he’s really sorry. Bully leader (aka Minho) refuses to and goes on insulting WD and BG (BG tries to stop him but get insulted as “stupid”). WD is mad, asking MH to apologize for what he said to BG (aww he didn’t ask MH to apologize for the insult directed toward him). MH refuses and further insults WD. WD’s mum frantically rushes to school, laments over WD’s bruised face…and naturally accuses BG as the culprit 😒😒😒 WD yells that it’s not BG, he’s the one taking the blow for WD. The teacher tells mum to calm down, cuz MH’s parent is coming soon. Mum instantly singles MH out. MH says that WD hit him first. WD’s mum scolds him for lying and for being brought up improperly cuz his parents divorced (HOW COULD SHE SAY SUCH THING TO A KID 😡😡😡). She then scolds WY, “Have I been telling you to befriend or date someone with high standards?? Kids like those will end up as criminals when they grow up!!” The teacher is trying to stop her, cuz she’s overstepping the line, but she doesn’t listen. WD finally can’t take it and yells that he did beat him up first. At the car ride home, Mum changes her tune. She says ppl do make mistakes and WD shouldn’t be worried and just study hard cuz Mum will take care of it. WD says that he is wrong but why mum isn’t angry. Mum says WD did no wrong, cuz that kid must hv done smthg bad first. She asks WD to go to hospital, but WD insists to go home. At school, BG’s grandma comes to pick BG. She’s worried over his wound. But MH’s parents couldn’t come because they’re too busy working. The teacher offers him to go together. BG and his grandma also offer him. But he refuses and runs away.. (Poor kid probably very sad and envious of BG ;;)

On Sunday, Black Finger arrives at the cafe using her full costume, greeted by the cafe owner and Big Foot as usual. Khaki has come already and they both go to the room together, awkwardly. She asks what’s his costume today. He says he’s quite unprepared so she offers to help him preparing himself, cuz she even brings makeup kit today. .

On the other hand, WY meets YR 🐍 first. WY sincerely praises YR’s beauty. YR praises WY for being cute. WY cheerfully agrees lol. YR is taken aback, wondering where does the confidence come from 😪. Anyway, they arrive at the cafe and WY is greeted by Big Foot. YR stares at them in disgust. When WY introduces YR to Big Foot, he turns his back against YR 😂

WY wonders why Big Foot is acting like that, but thinks that may be his condition isn’t good. She asks the owner about the room and explains the usual rule to YR who thinks “don’t explain it one by one” 🐍🐍🐍The room’s door today resembles a coffin. WY excitedly says it’s cool…then off to prepare her costume. YR stands outside and thinks that she feels strange today. At TS’ place, TS knocks the toilet door urgently, asking KJ to come out of it already. He is greeted by vampire KJ 😂
