John Dory and Viva would go on an oldest sibling trip one day, during which creek vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Branch and Poppy can’t confirm it but they’re pretty sure they killed him.

IT'LL BE LIKE IN "An Uninvited Guest" BY JasicoWhatHaveYouDoneToMe OH MY GOD. NOBODY WOULD ACTUALLY CARE THAT HES GONE AND JUST IGNORE THE GLARING OBVIOUS THING THAT HAPPENED

Viva and JD are like "lol bye guys! Have fun love birds!" And then in the middle of the night Creek feels something over his mouth and before he can scream, open his eyes fully, or process it he is being dragged out of the bed by his ankles

They bring him out to Lonesome Flats, where Delta Dawn allows them to take care of Creek and bury him. They then proceed to spend a day or two out there, talking to Delta Dawn, before going back home

The two older siblings take a few steps out of Rhonda, and automatically Viva and Poppy lock eyes from across the way. Branch is running up to JD to welcome him back, but the Pop Royals are just looking at each other, a knowing look on each other's face. One that only siblings can understand; the same look they had when they talked about their father as the years go along.

Poppy then snaps back to her normal self, as if she was a stressed rubber band. She looks happy to see her sister and announces Creek is gone, feigning being horribly sick as her subjects come to welcome back the two eldest siblings.

Branch hugs his brother, who hugs Branch a little too tight for a moment and Branch then understands what happened to Creek. He smiled ever so slightly as he backs away. JD grabs Branch by the face and gives him a big grin before lightly smacking a single cheek and letting him go

Do you like the idea of fem!Branch? Because I feel like overprotective brozone would be so funny/angsty on her like she their babygirl.

Yes, I have planned to do a small separate one-shot just to get rid of the idea, but that will be when I have the story of Beloved Little Brother.

But thinking about that, I have this for you!

So fem!Branch and Brozone:

And with a resemblance to Brozone's mother? If you read chapter 5, I'm trying to imply that his father was also obsessed and possessive of his mother, and I like to think that Branch looks like his mother, it doesn't matter. Whether it is feminine or masculine, I like to grow who looks alike.

(the fact that it is an almost direct copy only plunges them deeper into the need to protect their little sister)

Clothes

They got rid of much of their wardrobe (except Floyd's vest of course), much of their wardrobe became dresses in cold pastel tones (you know those types of colors that highlight certain aspects of a person in this case troll), Branch never seen a photo of his mother so he doesn't know that many of those dresses are copies of what his mother wore, rather than anything JD got because he remembers his mother more. If they manage to isolate them, they make her dress how they want every day, fem!Branch has no opinion about what to wear or wear.

(lack of) personal space

Hug, hold her hand, touch her cheek or caress her hair, fem!Branch does not deny physical affection, although she tries to minimize it, of course the brothers do not listen to her much (the older brothers hardly listen to the little ones), even so she likes the signs of affection, except when they manage to isolate her from her friends and the others she refuses to be touched, shouts at them and tries to hit them (but she has left JD with many black eyes, not Floyd, walking around that he is the one). But involved in everything, she doesn't have the willpower to hit Floyd, which always ends with Floyd hugging her and Branch feeling helpless).

Privacy

Before isolation, they gave her privacy, or at least an idea of privacy, they followed her and watched her from a distance, at home at least one of them is close to the room she was in, behind closed doors they try to listen , with the door open they only come by from time to time to keep an eye on him, when he cannot have the doors closed, he does what he does and when he does it he must be watched and monitored by one of the brothers, except for the bathroom where Branch usually He hides to get away from his brothers.

Schedules

It doesn't take much to say Clay has a strict schedule for Branch, something she disagrees with, but she takes advantage of the outings to try to escape, although Brozone ends up tricking Branch's friends into believing that Branch is upset about something (although Creek tries to help her escape, although he always ends up hurt)

(you know I think Cloud Guy would also try to help Branch, if he likes to bother him but he's his friend so a troll and a cloud who want to help Branch)

So first things first: I didn’t come up with the AU’s I’m using here! They were created by TheMiraculousMat and Keebsification on here and AO3

The AU’s in question are The Eldest and The Youngest and Out The Train Wreck

I just love it when people see John Dory and think “hmmm yes this grown man can fit so much eldest daughter energy in him” cuz SAME

So I thought: what if I just… put em together? OTT! JD and E&Y! JD have a grip on my soul and I’m filling a formal complaint in the form of fanfiction for not just 1, but 2 other pieces of fanfiction!!! Cuz why not

I’m gonna post the notes I’ve had about this idea for the past 2 week, at least the first part.

Well… it’s half notes, half chapter really…

Maybe. MAYBE. I’ll clean it up and post it on AO3. Maybe… probably lets be real

Part 1: Author’s Actual Notes because they are a nerd

Got an idea

Gonna scratch the itch

Half brain rot dump and half story here

Combination of the Eldest and Youngest JD and the Train Wreck JD

I also head canon that trolls have tails and claws and fangs

They’re lil creatures

Basically the same stuff happens in TW with the manager and John being Branch’s father.

Branch grows up knowing JD is his dad while everyone else thinks they’re brothers.

He and Luka are dating. He’s basically Branch’s other dad.

Luka gets taken and John thinks he died. He keeps his glove to remember him.

The fight still happens. John still leaves but promises Branch that he’ll come back.

He goes to the Neverglades for the next four years.

When he gets a letter about Rosiepuff and Branch he immediately heads back to the tree to take care of him.

Pretty much all of E&Y happens but with the change of Branch knowing JD is his dad.

Makes the trauma of him leaving worse in a way which adds to the angst of the first parts delicious, but it also makes their bond really solid later on.

John forgot that everyone in the village knew them as brothers until Poppy asks him if John is Branch’s daddy out of the blue. He panics and says “no” on instinct and they both decide to just go with it. Easier than explaining it to everyone.

She still doesn’t know. Nobody does.

John still loses his arm trying to save Creek(nasty ass).

One morbid silver lining John felt was that at least it wasn’t the hand he wore Luka’s glove on. Small miracles. Lol I’m sorry

Branch doesn’t remember Luka anymore, at least not really. He sorta remembers a burgundy haired troll that he thought was important but couldn’t remember anything else about them so he didn’t think too much about it.

John doesn’t really like talking about him and Branch hasn’t ever asked so he doesn’t bring it up.

He starts dating Hickory and he does tell him about Luka. He admits that while he definitely is falling for Hickory, a part of him will always belong to Luka and their relationship will always be really important to him.

Hickory is more than okay with that and even tells him that he would’ve loved to have met the man that made his sweetheart so happy and kept him safe before it was his turn. (John just about cried when he said that same buddy and agreed that they’d probably get along pretty well.)(He shows Hickory pictures of him and Luka one day and they laugh over the fact that John clearly has a type.)(And, based on Hickory’s own light blush, same.)(He immediately said Luka was ‘real cute’ and John still laughs at him for it.)

He also tells him about Bold and how Branch came to be. (Hickory spent solid hours comforting him afterwards and spent an equal amount of time thinking of ways he could get Dickory to help him torture the bastard if he ever saw him.)(He decides in that moment that he’d do anything to protect his boyfriend and his son. Anything.) (He’s also even more grateful to Luka when he hears about how he protected his love the day they met. He really wishes he could thank him…)

Branch makes jokes about not calling Hickory his stepdad till they get married, which makes John flush bright blue. (Hickory just laughs and winks, the traitor.)(Hickory secretly really wants Branch to call him ‘Pops’ and he’s so obvious about it.)(Branch finds it hilarious and doesn’t on purpose. He’d actually love to call him that, he’s just being an ass.)(You’d think he wouldn’t ever want to but no. For some reason, it’s only thinking of Hickory as ‘Papa’ specifically that makes him feel wrong. Like that’s not available to him. I wonder why.)

After saving Floyd, the boys all start spending more time together as a family. Floyd and Clay move into the bunker with John and Branch. Bruce still lives on Vacay Island but he tries to visit at least once a week, even bringing his wife and kids with him if he can.

They still love doing shows together and will do a big one every two weeks at least.

A few months later, they’re getting ready to hangout together after a performance in PopVillage. Hickory isn’t with them, he was actually watching with Tiny in the crowd, so he can’t see them.(Lil dude is really attached to his “Uncle Cowboy” and “Uncle Johnny” it’s adorable.)(And yes Guy is close by, Tiny is still very very grounded.)

Poppy wants to introduce them to a former stage manager that she’s worked with before that had come to see the show from TrollCity. Branch has met him once before and thought the guy was weird and a little creepy but nothing else made him feel suspicious so he kinda just ignored it. He figured if Poppy trusted him, it was fine. (Obviously he still kept an eye on the old bastard, cause your boy isn’t paranoid for nothing. And you never know.)

They all agree to meet and when they get backstage… it’s him.

Bold.

The bros old manager. The man who hurt their eldest unimaginably.

JD basically shuts down as his younger brothers immediately shield him from view.

They need to get out of here without causing a scene. Fast.

“Poppy, I think we need to go…” Floyd mumbles, his usually soft features twisting in both anger and slight fear as he stared the old troll down.

Poppy looks at them in confusion, “Wha- but you guys said you wanted to see everything we set up!!” She looks between the brothers and the older manager, Branch joining her as his eyebrows furrowed.

“Sorry, kids, I don’t think we can do that…” Bruce doesn’t take his eyes off of the old man as he steps back, closer to Clay and Floyd who were holding John Dory’s arms and hands to keep him steady in their safety bubble, their tails wrapped around his waist. “Not when he’s here.”

Poppy blinks in confusion. “What do you mean? Have you met Mr. Bold before?” She asks.

The old bastard chuckles. “Don’t worry, Miss Poppy.” Poppy huffs a bit at being called ‘miss’. (She’s Queen, dammit. Only Hickory calls her ‘miss’ and it’s always as a joke.) “I was the boys’ manager back in the day! It’s just been a while since we’ve seen each other.” He looks over each brother, clearly trying to get a look at John Dory and noticeably souring when he’s blocked. Then he smirks, taking a few steps closer, his wooden cane thunking against the floor. John flinches with each tap, tap, tap. “You’ve all grown up so much.”

Bruce holds his ground, crossing his arms and rolling his shoulders, his bigger body blocking most of JD from view. Clay was growling behind him, both him and Floyd curling closer to John and their ears pressed back in irritation. Bruce gives a humorless chuckle. “Heh. Yeah, we’ve grown up, Bold. We grew up and you’re fucking old now.”

Poppy gasps. “B-Bruce, that’s not nice!” She turns to Bold and smiles nervously. “I’m so sorry-“

The man waves her off. “Don’t fret. I’m sure he didn’t mean anything by it. He’s right after all.” He looks at them again all smugly, leaning on his cane. “Like I said, it’s been a long time.”

Floyd scoffs. “Not long enough.” He growls, baring his teeth. His claws start coming out and he’s thankful he’s holding John’s prosthetic arm as he feels them scratch the metal.

“Woah, okay, what the hell is up with you guys?” Branch finally steps in. That was so unlike Floyd to say something like that. He’s never seen the older troll that angry before, he’s never seen any of his uncles that angry before.

Bruce huffs. “What’s up is that we’re leaving. Now.” He goes to turn around to start steering his brothers out of the room when he hears Bold chuckle, making them all freeze.

“You all really have changed so much,” He says, his tail swaying side-to-side behind him. John looks up and they manage to lock eyes, Bold smiling sickly as John stares in horror. “Especially you, Johnny Baby.”

John feels sick. He feels like he’s gonna pass out. He feels his legs start giving out as Clay and Floyd rush to hold him up. He feels his body going completely limp and his vision blurs and his chest hurts and he can’t breATHE-

Bruce tackles the old troll, immediately landing brutal hits to the bastards face. He screams between punches, “DON’T TALK TO MY BROTHER!” Bold tries to hit him back, only managing to smack Bruce in the side once with his cane before continuing to get pummeled.

Branch and Poppy jump in frantically to pull him off of the man and the three of them stumble back. Bruce shoves them off and glares at Bold again. He was lying on the ground, groaning and clutching his nose, there were scratches and bruises on his face and he was covered in his own glittery copper blood. “Stay. The FUCK. Away. From John.” Bruce pants and shakes out his hands, flexing his exposed claws. He spits on the ground. “Bastard.” He turns back to his brothers. “Cmon, let’s get out of here.” He lifts JD up bridal style and Clay and Floyd follow him as he starts rushing to the door.

“Wait, hold on!” Branch runs after them, leaving Poppy standing in confused horror at what just happened.

The Cursed Woods (Evil King Peppy AU)

Hi, guys, I'm back at it again with another AU, one I call "The Cursed Woods" where King Peppy is harboring a malicious secret in order to keep his people wrapped around his finger! He is the king of secrets, after all.

It's still in heavy development, but here's the basic gist:

The trolls of Pop Village are modern descendants of the people who escaped the imprisonment of the Bergens, and King Peppy is more than keen to use his peoples’ history to his advantage by instilling a sense of fear into his civilians, keeping them forever caged within the confines of the village, lest they encounter a Bergen or are struck with a curse to become something as terrible as one.

King Peppy nurses the belief that the world, most notably the surrounding woods, is cursed, and whoever leaves the safety of the village is guaranteed to have something terrible happen to them. Born with unusual powers, King Peppy has exploited Creek’s abilities since he was a child, so much so that he was practically raised alongside Princess Poppy, and with his aid, he curses trolls who dare to venture out into the forest by transforming them into monsters.

King Peppy has Grandma Rosiepuff killed after she begins to catch on to his schemes, claiming that she, like his brothers, left Branch to wander the woods and escape the village, thus turning him gray, believing it was his fault that his grandmother and brothers abandoned him.

Creek was not the only young troll that King Peppy exploited. Peppy, having known and once respected his now deceased mother, carried on to manipulate John Dory, feeding him the idea that BroZone’s presence helped keep the village pure and safe from the dark clutches of the woods. JD’s perfectionism was kicked into overdrive, believing himself responsible for the safety of the entire village, and after failing to achieve the Perfect Family Harmony, a tool he was confident could save them from the cursed forest, he banished himself to the woods, thinking of himself as an unworthy guardian. He is transformed by Creek into a monster, and is narrowly killed by Branch until, through his feral, bloodlust-addled brain, he recognizes him, and the pair work together with Poppy to expose King Peppy’s lies to the other trolls.

Viva, having suspected her father’s malpractice, gathers together a group of trolls (including Clay) and escapes into the woods before the king can curse her, proving to them that it is not cursed, and they carry on to find a way to overthrow King Peppy.

Floyd leaves the village to find JD and bring him back. Bruce accompanies him.

Together, they must all find a way to put an end to the paranoia that King Peppy's lies have caused for good.

Switcheroo Au: Branch

Branch was born to the previous Queen and King of the Pop Trolls. His eldest brother, John Dory, was the current ruler of the trolls, and unfortunately, soon after his coronation, their grandmother, ex-Queen Rosiepuff, got eaten by a bergen. King JD realized that they couldn't keep living like this, so he hatched a plan to escape by digging tunnels under the tree in secret. During the escape, all the brothers make it, but their parents are lost in the process. The family is torn apart by the grief of the situation. Bruce, Clay, and Floyd run away, leaving John to raise Branch himself. The prince grew up to be the most fun-loving troll of Troll Village, always planning parties and helping every troll in need, even the ones that were "unhelpable" according to other trolls, like Poppy.

He never gave up on her, even after rejecting his party invitations hundreds- no, thousands of times. During the 20th celebration of their escape, he plans to host the biggest party troll kind has ever seen despite Poppy's protests. Unfortunately, things go awry when the bergen chefs, Chad and Todd, take several of their friends back to bergen town in hopes of regaining their honor. Branch goes out to save Smidge, the veterinarian; Chenille and Satin, the twin DJs; Suki, the fashion designer; Creek, the lovable one; Guy Diamond, the businessman; Darnell, the cool one; and Biggie, the serene one. Although Poppy thinks he'll fail, she joins him anyway. On their mission, they help Gristle, the scullery maid (butler?), win over Queen Bridget of the bergens. In an unexpected twist, Biggie sells out Troll Village to Chad and Todd. Despite this, they are able to free all of Troll Village while becoming friends with the bergens. John Dory, feeling as though he was inadequate as a king, partly because he blamed himself for losing their parents 20 years ago, now crowns Branch as king now that he is old enough to rule.

Sometime later, the trolls get an invitation from the rock queen Val Thundershock who plans to take over the world. With the help of some friends, they are able to defeat Queen Val while becoming friends with her and opening up the way for the troll tribes to live in harmony once more.

A month later, a stranger interrupts Queen Bridget and Gristle's wedding. The stranger turns out to be Poppy's father who came to inform Poppy that her sister, who she thought to be dead, was actually alive but captured by the duo Veneer and Velvet. Poppy is not confident in her and her father's ability to perform a family harmony, so she asks Branch and JD if they can perform the harmony. John reveals that they're not the only family they have, and Branch finds out that he has 3 other brothers he didn't know about. They go on an adventure to find them. The first stop is Floyd who now lives among the rock trolls and is in a band with Barb (Who is Val in this au), and Riff (Who is kinda like Blaze? idk yet), with Sid Fret (who is Demo) as their manager. Next is Bruce who found love with a giant puppet lady named Brandy (his backstory stays the same cause I can't... think of anything else, but feel free to recommend ideas!). They find Clay in an old abandoned golf course as one of the co-leaders of the putt-putt trolls. He is hesitant to go and almost forces his brothers to stay, but they escape and continue on their search to find Viva, hoping that the four of them can pull it off. Unfortunately, Poppy and Peppy have a fight that leads Poppy to run off and Branch joins her. They eventually make it to Mount Rageous to find that the other brothers and Peppy were also taken hostage. They try to save them without singing but fail to. Clay eventually catches up and tries to help, but it's clear that there's only one thing that'll save their families. Branch urges Poppy to take the lead in the family harmony because he never knew his brothers, but she knew her sister. She takes the lead and they are able to escape while putting Veneer and Velvet behind bars.

some trolls band together theories/notes!! (contains some spoilers for the new trailer!!!)

In the first movie, Creek had chartreuse pants. In the second movie, Hickory had chartreuse skin. They both betrayed a loved one for a leader type person. In this movie, the characters who have chartreuse hair include Clay, Velvet, and Veneer. I can't wait to see if Clay follows the pattern, especially since he seems to be with Viva in the trailer.

The Putt-Putt trolls all seem to be monochrome, besides Clay and Viva. While it would make sense that Clay doesn't share the same color scheme as them, I'm curious about Viva... especially considering Poppy IS monochrome, being pink all over. Give her some properly crazy hair like Viva, and she would fit right in. Poppy also was the main demonstration of camouflage in the first movie, having her hair look like grass and moss to hide from Chef! I really hope they bring that aspect back more, especially since the Putt-Putt trolls at least seem to hide themselves shape wise as golf balls.

Viva asked specifically if Poppy's father was King Peppy. I'm curious why Peppy wouldn't have mentioned Viva at all, because while he is the type to hide or ignore upsetting information, he also cares deeply about his subjects, refusing to leave them behind. He even was very careful about his daughter Poppy in the process of saving his citizens. I theorize that either Viva is lying to Poppy, or she is a half sister, one that either Peppy didn't know about or was switched at birth with Poppy.

Another thing to note: while Viva looks remarkably like Poppy, practically her twin, she doesn't share ANY colors with her father, wheras Poppy shares her hair color with him. Tiny is practically a copy of his own father, and Branch shares his skin color with each of his brothers. Now, they don't share appearance so much with their grandmother, Rosiepuff, except that John Dory perhaps shares her hair color somewhat. However, that has another generation (the parent(s) of the BroZone) to explain differences of color and appearance. Why does Viva look the way she does?

While Velvet and Veneer somewhat fit within the aesthetic of their toony/alien subjects, I think their appearances are being influenced by Floyd's essence, and we'll see a transformation back if they are without it for a period of time.

I'm so curious about Spruce's family, especially his kids. I theorize that the vacation island residents we see are at least some related to him! I also think it would be a neat gag if some of them were in his hair, or he was carrying an egg.

I wonder what the brother's opinions of Branch being with Poppy will be. Will they acknowledge it, or will Branch be spending part of the movie convincing them that yes, this is a real, solid relationship? Especially since boy bands are often known for being forced to maintain the illusion of being "available" for fans, and thus being banned from certain relationships, at least publicly? I'm also thinking about this in the fact that Spruce is married and has given his brothers niblings.

Spruce is definitely gonna yell at JD for dragging Tiny along and not actually protecting him properly like a proper child, and then Tiny is gonna be annoyed that Spruce IS treating him like one lol

Sadly, I'm not sure we're going to be seeing much of the bergens in this movie :( They're just not very present or available in the trailers so far. I do love seeing them again though!!

Juniper was born into high society here in Anchorage. Thanks to her parents who were sharks in the attorney vein; helping the higher-end businessmen win over the little guys. It wasn’t something she understood at such a young age, but what she did know was: Keep your voice low but your head held high. She grew up in a household of competition. Not only between her parents with their respective careers, but also between her older brother, younger brother, and herself in the ways of academics and sports. No one would ever want to be around the family on Friday night game nights. And honestly, Juno couldn’t really blame her friends for that. Thinking back, she wonders often if this is where her need to speak up for herself came from. Each Riggs sibling was the top of their grade. Juniper found that the more she was in school and learning about the world, the more she felt alienated in high society life. She started to not attend galas and she started to let her hair down and throw caution to the wind when she hit her middle school and high school years. Though her beliefs changed, she still held education to a high degree of importance and never slacked in that field of her life. Rebelling against her parents was not what anyone was expecting from her, let alone her choice in career. Though, the lawyer aspect was a given (all Riggs siblings turned out to be lawyers), they never expected her to go against businesses and corporations and stand with the individuals who genuinely were being fucked over. Juno attended Harvard Law, and graduated with high honors. She went on to debate and go up against her own family in court through her career. Sometimes there were draws, other times she rung them dry. Recently, Juno came back to Anchorage in order to figure out if she wants to continue being a lawyer, or abandon the life chosen for her to pursue singing and songwriting full time.

Juno is a force to be reckoned with. Sharp as a whip, she tends to cut deep with her words and is highly aware of it. Basically, just don't debate her, okay? On the other hand, she's loving and full of life. She loves to strum at her guitar and come up with music - especially if she's feeling quite overwhelmed with emotions. She's also one who contemplates the universe and life at a deeper level. She plays minor gigs here and there, but she genuinely believes she has potential to make it big. Juno is a free-spirited type of character, and one can find her at karaoke nights as well as on the tops of tables at the local bar. She's very minimalist. If one were to go into her residence, there would only really be a ton of books and some photographs. She's basically not materialistic. She's very giving and whenever there's charity work in town, she's always a part of it or running the show. She's bubbly, and comedic at times. HEADCANONS: from a young age, padme had an interest in politics. she didn’t care about going as far as becoming president, she didn’t care about being a senator or a diplomat... she just wanted to do the most she could for people, regardless of which title enabled her to do so. in high school, she threw herself into her studies and activities and was voted class president and most likely to succeed, graduating valedictorian of her class. she then went onto college where she did the same thing, then law school. harvard had been where padme truly thrived and if asked, the time that she’d call the best years of her life. after graduating harvard, she spent some time in washington dc, where she saw firsthand just how corrupt the government was. there were those that had lost faith in and had seen it long ago, but the average person truly had no idea how bad it was. the way padme saw it, she could stay in washington, which she was beginning to see was far too corrupt at that point for just her to change... or she could go home and make change for the better back home to decimation, kansas. so after five years in washington, she ended up back home and became a lawyer and recently a judge.

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: padme is back where she believes to be home and since she returned, her discouragement is gone and she’s much happier working for her hometown versus in dc. currently she lives alone with her two cats.
