Today (November 19th) is International Men's Day
Much has been said about why this is an important day for acknowledging men's mental health issues and the problems arising from them, so I won't rehash other people's points.
Personally, I know that toxic masculinity has severely damaged my own mental health, to the point that I am - in a large way - emotionally repressed. It's a trait that was pushed on me by growing up in a typically rough and intolerant area of the UK during the 90s and early 2000s, and is one that I don't think I'll ever be able to grow out of at this point. Talking about your feeling and emotions just wasn't done, for fear of reprisals for daring to be seen as a "wimp" or "sissy". It causes us to self-stigmatise, which only makes the situation worse.
So we make it better for the next generation. I make sure my sons and my non-binary child know they can express themselves without fear, and that we'll embrace them no matter who they are or who and whether they love or not. And they know that if their friends need support my wife and I will give it to them just as much as to our own children.
And since this is a day to acknowledge that not everyone has an outlet: while I believe most of my followers and mutuals identify as female or non-binary, I want you to know that I will always be happy and willing to listen if you need to talk something out. I will gladly stay up all night and talk if you need me to. Improving mental health benefits everyone, and I want the best for my friends no matter what their gender

I know it's a little late. And International Men's Day has passed but I just wanted to say that Palestinian men and boys are just as worthy of safety and comfort and liberation as women and girls. Men are not disposable in combat and Brown and Black men are not inherently dangerous, violent , or evil. Palestinian men and boys deserve empathy and compassion and care and love and safety and humanity and joy. And love.
Happy International Men's Day to
Trans men who are closeted or newly out
Trans men who've been made out to feel less safe to be around for being confident in their masculinity.
Men with what are typically seen as women's diseases who don't get taken seriously because of them.
Disabled men who are seen as less manly because they don't have an income or can't be the provider for their family
Asexual men who are seen as less manly because they don't desire ar asexual or acespec.
Men who feel it's their duty to die in combat
Black men who've been done worng by the criminal justice system
And all men who feel like the social traditions of masculinity aren't serving you whether you choose to ignore them or feel pressured to comply

International Men’s Day sketch
I wanted to draw something for Men's Day, which is today (19th November) and is hardly ever talked about.
Once done sketching, I considered cleaning it up and uploading a proper lineart, but didn't feel confident enough. So instead I decided to to write a story leading up to this moment (male love).
Unfortunately the story is heavily explicit and features a certain kink that isn't to everyone's liking, so I'd rather not submit it publicly.
If you are curious, just message me privately or email the address in my commission blog's Terms post. I'll explain the content, and if you're still interested I can send the file.
In the meantime, I wish all the world's men a great Men's Day! this of course includes trans men (even though I didn't feature them in my story)
And please spread the word, because our problems can be as distressing as women's (self-esteem, body image, financial autonomy, "intimate" cancers, etc) yet don't get any serious planetwide recognition.
Bet most of you don't even know remember it's No-Shave November (or Movember) aiming to raise awareness about prostate cancer. Because it's only mentioned in big hospitals, no one around me IRL talks about it, and online I keep hearing that stupid joke "challenge" instead.
