Anyone else find the people on instagram posting the private family photos of actors to be extremely disturbing? Like these are of/ with their family or their friends and if they didn’t post them themselves and you went digging on personal private accounts and display them like you won a panty raid. Wtf?

Like people follow Miguel’s mother and show family photos, yearbook photos, baby!!! Photos. What the fuck?

To a lesser extent there’s that phenomenon where people get public images and repost them with whatever comment or tags they want and why? Literally why. They already posted it themselves. Literally why don’t you just comment and move on.

This isn’t kids. Not all of them. Kids know better about this sort of thing or I’d like to think so as 90% of the time creepy stuff like this is grown women 40 or up. I’ve seen it in several fandoms and I just- why.

Instagram Users here: Is anyone else having issues with the app currently? First out of nowhere yesterday when I posted a reel, I get a message saying, “It looks like you shared your password with a service to help you get more likes or followers, which goes against our Community Guidelines"? I'm not even using a 3rd party app, and my account status is perfectly fine, and then I was reading that thankfully it doesn't mean my account was hacked. Sigh of relief, right?

Then, between that and the fact that Instagram won't upload my captions along with the photo/video, all of a sudden when I tried to like a post, I get a notification that I'm action blocked until June 21st. I reported the problems to Instagram saying that I did nothing wrong with picture proof, cleared my cache, and reinstalled the app. But still no luck, so I guess I gotta wait it out😩

Ughhhhhhh, so frustrating.....

Instagram is dumb as shit I swear to god

Recently, Instagram has taken down one of my posts for "going against their community guidelines". Which is straight up bullshit. It ain't violating shit.

The video, which they found as "hate speech" and "problematic" is this:

It's a stupid ass joke where it mocks people who hate on men or women.

It is literally taken out of context.

The only thing they found problematic about the video is apparently the phrase "I hate all men". BRUH and then they go on to say, that they did a "review".

Dude. It's part of the joke. The video as a whole is not meant to be taken seriously. How is it hate speech again??

And I obviously requested them to review it again.

That didn't do shit as you can see. It is so frustrating. All of this happened because of the stupid ass joke video that I decided to post with my drawing.

After all of that, I wrote to them an appeal:

This is absolutely ridiculous. Instagram has been a pain in the ass lately. I just wanna post my stupid artworks. I don't wanna deal with shit like this. I really hope they bring back my post and I hope it never happens again because it could deactivate my account :/

But please tell me what you think. I am really in the wrong here?? It seems so unfair to me. Feedback would be greatly appreciated! :(

on one hand I get why people talk about the vanity of the instagram age, but on the other one time St. Ignatius of Loyola got his leg shattered in battle and discovered upon recovery that he could no longer wear his favorite tight leather boots due to the way his leg had set and so decided to rebreak his leg without anesthesia because he was that determined to wear his fashionable boots again...what i'm trying to say is that this man might have existed before instagram, but at heart he was an influencer

On the Notion of Caring about : Attention and Books

I refuse to go into the new year with all these half-read books. I should have stuck to one, but I got carried away with posting a new book on a schedule (to my Instagram) .

No one tells you how hard having a “professional sorta” social media account is actually. People constantly friend and unfriend. You join follow trains just for half to not follow you back and a bunch to decide to unfollow anyway. They change algorithms so while your posts got a fair bit of attention with tags before, now they get barely any.

Given that kept happening I stopped actively trying to gain new followers. And, just doing what I want when I want. And what I want is to finish these books! That I’m not reading because I’m enjoying the audiobook of Stephanie Foo’s journey through cPTSD. It’s almost over though so I will have to read stuff again.

also in the face of people deleting their blogs, that's another reason why you guys are supposed to reblog stuff. if somebody deletes a post, your liked version will disappear, but the reblogs remain. i'm insane about preservation and archival, every single piece of art i have ever enjoyed is reblogged on my 450k+ posts main account so if the artists leave I still have their work. i even tag things (though just with the main fandom tag) so I have years and years worth of fanworks saved that the terrible general site search will never show you.

please reblog art. not just to support the artists who make it and share their efforts, but also so you have your own copy of their works saved for yourself, and the future users of this site.

not saying to throw shade at the model ( I won't credit them for this exact reason) it's a simple question : is this wig helping the model to tell a story? NO ! it's just there

the only reason the wig is there it's cause they consider the afro textured hair a fashion element just like clothes ,bags and shoes . it is what it is

many black models , facing this tremendous amount of concern and apprehension about it... ( wearing wigs or box braids bc hairstylists dont do black hair at fashion shows )

i am once again asking art-collecting instagram pages with 200k + followers not to simply take my images and copy the entire caption word for word without crediting this blog. i'm not mad that the medieval art i post circulates around the internet, it's just the laziness that gets to me. like what if i accidentally got the dates wrong or something. are you gonna check that before you post it to your 200k followers? i literally include a link to the manuscripts in all of my posts, it's not that hard to come up with a different caption smh

You can also just search "canis albus" on pinterest and a bunch of stuff comes up

I don't endorse my art being reuploaded on pinterest without my awareness and consent, but the unfortunate reality is that there's very little I can do to stop people from doing that. I know a lot of artists have a similar sort of antagonistic relationship with the site purely because it's so full of stolen, unsourced and uncredited art. I could spend my days going through pinterest and reporting my pieces for removal, and it wouldn't be enough and I'd never have time to do anything else. It's kind of a pick your fights situation and I know I can't win that one.

It was very thoughtful of you to let me know regardless, thank you!
