I have always dreamed of having the aesthetic bedroom, the perfect wardrobe 😍 my skin looking flawless and my diet being more than just pasta with butter and cheese 😅.

But at the end of the day I am truly a swamp demon. I'm chronically ill, both mentally and physically. I'm neurologically different than others having both Autism and ADHD.

Let's just be honest for a second, I collect clutter because my brain 🧠 doesn't know anything but chaos and is far too easily distracted. I live in sweatpants and crewnecks because I'm sick, I'm in pain and I simply want to be comfortable. I don't eat many different foods because I will literally cry if it touches my plate 😁 and I don't have flawless skin because I can only remember to do my skincare here and there. 🙃🤪

We need to stop comparing ourselves to other people. We need to start working with what we've got and accepting ourselves for who we are where we are.

Why do you need worldly things to define you? Why do you need a rank or a status to tell others who you are? Why concern yourself with the capricious opinions of others who are less impressed with who you really are and more impressed by the carefully crafted image you present to them - an image that is entirely surface with no inherent value? Take away the things and the status and see who notices you.

thinking about how the extra area added on to a pacifist run of undertale, the true lab, is about alphys's past mistakes. how it ends with the story reaffirming that, despite the pain she's caused, the thing that matters is that she has now made the choice to do the right thing. she's still worthy of her friends' love.

thinking about how undertale doesn't expect the player to get a pacifist ending for the first time. how it's more likely than not that the player will kill toriel the first time they battle her, how lots of players don't initially figure out how to end undyne's fight without killing her, etc. what it expects — not even expects, really, but hopes — is that the player, if they care enough, will use their canonically acknowledged power over time to make up for those mistakes.

no matter how many neutral runs a player has done before committing to the pacifist run, the thing that matters to the characters, to the story, is that you've chosen, now, to do the right thing.

compared to alphys, the player honestly gets off lightly, in that you're the only one (other than flowey) who really remembers any harm you might have caused. and any direct guilting the game could have done about it is long past at this point. instead, as undertale often does, it makes its point via parallels: alphys caused harm, and she knows it. she has committed to being better. in doing so, she has unlocked for herself a better ending to her story. and she deserves it. she's forgiven.

those structural narrative parallels are all over undertale, if you know where to look. and that's one of the things that makes it so fuckin' good.

Spiritual Anxiety Treatment

Yesterday I spent a lot of my afternoon in traffic court. If you have never been to traffic court let me explain for you how it works. When you arrive for your appearance you sit in a room with many other individuals. Other Defendants with violations either similar to yours, more minute than yours, and others who, in my personal opinion, could have used a bit more privacy when discussing their case. If your appointment is at 2 do not expect to look at the clock on the wall and see the big hand on the number twelve and the little one on the number 2 and hear your name called. That time stamp on your appointment letter is just a window. You will sit there and listen to everyone who is called before you. In open court! So while you are scheduled for a particular time, you may very well be called up after that time has come and gone. If you haven't guessed already, my appointment was, indeed, scheduled for 2 p.m. I received a ride as I am currently without transportation, so I got there at about 1:30. I was not called up to present case until a quarter to 3. So that made my sitting, listening and watching duration time of a little over a hour.

As I was sitting, listening and watching I noticed something. The people sitting with me waiting their turn to approach the judge had body language screaming of impatience and anxiety. There was a gentlemen up to present his case who you can tell had anxiety that was in high degree. He kept asking the same set of questions over and over. He kept overly explaining. Lost his train of thought. And just could not register the directions the Judge tried mapping out for him. So much so, that the judge had to ask the gentlemen to calm down, take a breath and listen. While he was in his struggle I noticed the impatience of those still in wait. Every time he spoke you would see a few drop their head backwards, sigh heavily, and rub their face in frustration. There was even a lady who under her breath angrily whispered "come on!". I chuckled a little as I thought what could they be in a hurry to do!? You are literally about to approach to get a fine or driving privileges revoked. Why are you guys in a hurry to do that!?

Why was I so calm you may ask that I can sit and watch all of this. Well before I got there although I had an outcome in mind... I understood that all things are subject to our Lord! I gave my problems to God and declared that "All things will work out for the good!" (Romans 8:28). And guess what!! I did NOT get the outcome I desired! I bet that you thought I was going to say that God worked it out in my favor right then and there! NOPE!! He did not! I even felt disappointment and emotion gather at the seat of my throat! Then I walked for 1 hour from court back home! In the cold and in a body very much out of shape! How was I able to deal and not buckle! Well because of faith. Faith to "walk and not faint", (Isaiah 40:31).

But, there are days like today. A day where I am experiencing anxiety or sadness that seems to enter out of nowhere to try to mentally arrest me, but truly verses like Philippians 4:6-7 which reads, "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, Letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces (take over the place, position, or role of [someone or something]) worry at the center of your life." (message version)... This scripture helps to sync me back to a sound mind. The mind in which is of the Spirit I have been given. It's human to feel things when dealing with the hard and tough during a certain season. But I do find that when I get raw before God about what I'm feeling, even in my anger, the Spirit always seem to guide me into a praising of who God is and who He is in me and who I am in Him. When I get off the floor the situation doesn't change. But the instant gratification that I can celebrate, is that my relationship to the situation does. And I am more hopeful in faith than I was before I got down there. I understand that Prayer with a solid relationship with God in Spirit and Truth can truly help the unbelief (if we're honest) that we can sometimes have. Unbelief that keeps your worship dry or in your seat during service. Unbelief that keeps you uninspired during a powerful message of God in your word or from your Pastor. Unbelief that keeps you circling the drain in the sink of your pain, burdens and hopelessness. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul is more about knowing that no matter what is happening externally, spiritually and internally God is working something out in you and for you! This is why in court although I saw and heard a lot of external disappointments I was able to see the lesson God was teaching me Spiritually. Eyes unveiled! Anxiety at bay!!
