So about Ras' master and shatterspin. From what I've seen, the two most common theories on who this being is, are the source dragon of motion or of strength. Personally motion seems more plausible to me, simply from a storytelling perspective and the fact that we are getting it as a set this summer. However, there is the fact that both shatterspin and Ras' teachings are all about strength, which would suggest that source dragon. So my theory is, that Shatterspin does actually come from the associated source dragon of strength, however the mysterious master is Motion. We know that the source dragon's are basically gods, so we should think about them as such: in many mythologies in real life, the gods are not always on the same side, sometimes even switching allegiances over a very long time. So maybe during the time that the dragon masters fought the five, strength was allied with the latter, powering their shatterspin and providing some kind of guidance, while motion was on the side of the dragons and helped with their rising dragon technique. The five were defeated and since all source dragon's are needed for the world to function, strength was not banished or something like that and once again taken up into the ranks of the other source dragons. I don't know what would cause a switch in allegiance, maybe strength saw the error of their ways, maybe motion realised that whatever strength was planning might actually be possible and planned a plan of their own, like it was the case with makuta teridax and the league of six kingdoms in Bionicle. I don't know, it just feels like we as a fandom should do more with the fact that the source dragon's are literal gods and not necessarily held to the morals of humanity.

One criticism of LMK I don't agree with whatsoever is that "LMK villainizes Wukong."
It doesn't. It really doesn't. The show's portrayal of Wukong is meant to be a flawed individual with good intentions, and the main themes of the show center around not letting the past define you and growing past your mistakes. While not every villain is redeemed, the clear message of growth is there within the main cast, especially with them being reincarnations/descendents of the Pilgrims. And Wukong's major character flaw is closing himself off, and this is very much connected to these themes.
MK, at the beginning of the series, idolizes Wukong. While he does acknowledge that Wukong was a troublemaker in the past, it's not elaborated on nor does MK really think about it. MK is excited about his new powers and meeting his hero for the entire first season!
It isn't until season 2 that doubt really starts to creep in, where this idea that Wukong is a perfect hero starts to fracture in MK's eyes. We, as the audience, know that Wukong is investigating LBD and trying to keep MK safe by leaving him behind; but to MK and the characters in the show, they take Wukong's word at face value. If Wukong says he's going on vacation, then he's going on vacation. While they're not pleased about it, they don't have a reason to believe Wukong is doing anything else. And that's what Wukong wanted, nobody following him and putting themselves in danger. He's the immortal monkey, he can handle this himself, in his opinion that is.
And then LBD gets the staff, and they finally learn where Wukong truly was all this time. The main group rightfully feels a bit hurt, they trust Wukong but Wukong didn't trust them. We know his reasons, but we can still empathize with the others' hurt and confusion. This doesn't make Wukong the villain or a terrible person, though. He wasn't plotting behind their backs, he was trying to handle the threat by himself.
In season 3, the most vocal person regarding their distrust of Wukong is Pigsy. Even before Amnesia Rules, Pigsy scrutinized Wukong's meditation and even the validity of the map to the Rings. And then Amnesia Rules happens, where Wuking reveals that there aren't just 3 Rings of Samadhi but 4.
Pigsy is rightfully suspicious, and its meant to give suspense to the audience as well. Why didn't Wukong tell them about the 4th Ring?
And then we learn the whole story: Wukong slipped during the ritual, and one of the Rings ended up forming inside Ao Lie. Mei, as a descendent of Ao Lie, now carries the fourth Ring. When it's revealed, Nezha specifically mentions the fire possibly burning Mei to a crisp. This is also when we learn that Wukong's plan was to extract the Ring from Mei and harness the power of the Samadhi Fire hinself.
Wukong's main fault in this entire scenario was his tendency to push people away and keep things to himself. His desperation when they begin the ritual without him also points to him not wanting Mei to get hurt. He also feels responsible for the Ring being in Mei in the first place.
His plan was flawed from the get-go, not because he's an evil villain, but because in trying to handle things by himself he pushed his new friends away from him, and created a situation where they couldn't trust him. We see this trait of his again when he goes to fight LBD alone, he feels responsible and wants to handle it by himself. His mindset is constantly looping between "I'm responsible for this" and "Don't get the kid and his friends involved." And what the show is trying to tell us is that he should reach out for help, and that this isn't a healthy mindset.
In season 4, Wukong's past mistakes are exposed for everyone in the main cast and the audience to see. And his past with the Brotherhood explains so much.
We don't know much about the pligrimage other than the fact that it was mentally and emotionally beneficial to Wukong after he got locked up, so for now I'm going to focus on the Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood assembled to fight against the Jade Emperor, as Wukong was openly rebellious during this stage of his life. After the battle, he had to lock his former friends away because they clearly hung onto this goal of rebellion. We also see in the memory scroll that Azure Lion's "paradise" caused environmental devastation to the surrounding areas, and that after Wukong was imprisoned he lashed out at Macaque. He feels responsible for Azure's ideas of grandeur to some extent, in his eyes he was the one who fed into these ideas and lead their first attempt at rebellion. He was so caught up in his journey towards immortality and strength for the sole purpose of protecting his loved ones, that he ended up pushing them all away and hurting them. He even says at the beginning of season 4 that most of the bad guys MK faced were people he has history with, specifally that he crossed them at some point.
Based on Wukong's self-destructive behavior that's been previously established, season 4 brings a lot of light onto Wukong's behaviors. Once again, he left some things unsaid because he felt solely responsible. When MK and Macaque rescue Wukong from the scroll, it takes MK reassuring Wukong that he can still correct and grow past these mistakes that haunt him — with Macaque offering him a small, forgiving smile to really motivate him.
Wukong's character in this series is that he's a flawed individual who has made mistakes and will continue making mistakes, even with the best of intentions in mind, but that he can grow from them. And that he is going to grow from them with his newfound family. LMK made it's message of growth so painfully obvious here lmao

UGH thinking about edward, thinking about how he's so fucking crafty so excitable so fucking smart. thinking about him at 10, 12, 14 years old, clutching red silk in his pocket and watching his so called betters piss on him and his mother and thinking "if i had what you had, i could do anything. my brain eats itself, it's so alive. give me a book, give me maths, a trade, and i could run circles around you all." and of course, that never happens. he never thought it would. he makes his own way.
thinking about edward boarding a ship for the first time, his father's blood on his hands, silk twined in his fingers (hidden but always there) and realizing. he doesn't need to be given anything. he can take it. and he does. he runs circles around them all. he amasses more riches than you can shake a stick at. i'm thinking of him and his goddamned fuckeries and how wonderful it must have felt to have an outlet for all of that sharp fucking wit, to pull one over on all the people who thought they were better than him. he's blackbeard, now. he can do anything.
thinking about how awful it must have felt when, twenty, thirty years down the line, it all begins to chafe again.

THE LEGEND OF SHEN LI 与凤行, 2024
⇢ starring: zhao liying, lin gengxin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more. (I'm talking about The Legend of Shen Li)
Let me preface this by saying I'm biased. And it's been a million years since I tried to put my thoughts into writing so this is gonna be all over the place and long-winded. And probably wouldn't make any sense. So here it goes.
I really enjoyed The Legend of Shen Li. Do I love it? With all my charred heart. Do I think it's the best drama this year? It's still April. It's hard to say. Are Shen Li and Xing Zhi the best power couple? This shouldn't even be a debate.
Honestly, I didn't even plan to chase this drama while it's ongoing because I binge watching drama is what I enjoy best. However, I was bored. And The Legend of Shen Li's trailer looked interesting. And my heart still needs healing from the mess of an ending that is Princess Agents. I needed closure. So I started watching the drama, and boy oh boy did it drag me down one hell of a roller coaster ride of emotions every single night. (No, I'm not complaining.)
However, before I talk about the things that I really loved about the drama, I have some things to say about the stuff that kind of irked me. Because no drama is perfect (unless it's Nirvana in Fire).
So let me get started on the things that I feel like the drama could've done better.
Musical scoring - the OST's? Chef's kiss. However, they way they're putting music on the scenes are a hit and miss. Most of the time it just distracts me from the scene and I just get bored with the mv-ish scene. I wish cdramas especially custom ones would stop this. I don't need 5 mins of the leads staring at each other in all angles accompanied by a really nice song. I'm here to watch a drama. Although, I kinda did get used to it in the latter episodes (specifically ep35-38) because I definitely needed a minute or two to process the emotions.
The progression of the story - One thing. I'm confused. Not to the point that "I don't understand the plot confusing" but still confusing nonetheless. There was no consistency in the scenes and the dialogues. (Ex fishing village). There was no flow. I feel like someone messed up the storyboard and when they edited the scenes they were also confused. Or maybe this is the issue of the translation of the dialogue? I don't even know. Still, I definitely think this part could've been done better.
The internal monologues - sigh when I said the thing I love most in dramas are their dialogues I don't mean what's happening in The Legend of Shen Li. The characters just talk (or think?) too damn much I can't keep up. They're supposed to be the characters whom their actions should tell the story but the way they're narrating the whole plot to me is just so jarring. Am I watching a drama or listening to an audiobook? Sometimes I can't tell. I wish they'd tone it down but it just got worse with the later episodes.
The camera - this is just me being nitpicky but there are some random camera angles especially the spinning ones that probably is supposed to make the scene dramatic but all it did was make me wanna vomit.
This is not in any way, shape, or form hating on the drama because I genuinely enjoyed it. I've deluded myself into waiting for a Princess Agents S2 but I got a better deal and had Zhao Liying and Lin Gengxin to reunite in a new project which is better in my opinion because Princess Agents is a hot mess. There was really no saving that one.
So moving on to the things I like! But like, where do I even start?
First of all, Zhao Liying and Lin Gengxin. Chemistry so good, they had to be casted in another drama. Everything about them was just so perfect for the drama and the role. Could not ask for a more perfect casting than them. The 7 year wait was almost worth it.
The WOMEN! - so much room for improvement regarding the characters but I loved that the women were not treated as damsels who always needed saving. I have to say 5 1/2 braincells were working throughout the drama, 2 from Shen Li, 1 from You Lan, 1 from Jin Niang Zi and 1 from Shen Mu Yue (1/2 from Xing Zhi because he's too unbothered if it's not related to Shen Li).
Shen Li - might not be the best female character in cdramaland but I think she can hold her own place. She's stubborn, a bit reckless but she's loyal and righteous. She's a strong woman without being a stereotypical cold and ruthless strong woman. Shen Li is a strong woman at the same time also a mad woman in love. She does not have to be one or the other. The more I write this the more I'm falling in love with her character. You just don't find a character like her. She is Shen Li. A capable general. A strong leader. An empathetic comrade. A respectful student. A woman in love. She is not just one of them but all of them.
Lin Gengxin is pretty believable playing as an ancient god. He has that air around him that screams your highness. He played the lofty and aloof Xing Zhi to perfection.
And what can I even say about Zhao Liying? As always miss ma'am played Shen Li perfectly. Whimsical, stubborn, in love and devasted in love, you can feel all those emotions just watching her eyes.
It has angst but not too much that we as viewers would spend multiple episodes pulling out hair of frustration about the misunderstandings and accidental killings. (Not a shade to any specific drama but just to the xanxia genre in general). It has the perfect balance of angst, romance and comedy. You laugh, cry and giggle all in one episode. The comic relief scenes are naturally funny and doesn't feel forced. Zhao Liying and Lin Gengxin's comedic timing are 👌.
The conflict was handled maturely and the confession was direct but still heart fluttering. Throughout the drama, they both got their heads perfectly placed on their shoulders.
The last episode! Let us talk about the last episode because when has a drama provided that kind of fan service just making one whole episode of shenanigans and fluff. After going through the angst, the reward that is the last episode is just too good and definitely worth all the tears.
Also, can we talk about Dong Jie's guest role? I know miss ma'am is good but when I tell you I cried for a minute because of her story arc? Just hands up and mic drop. So so good!
Now that all of these are out of my system, hopefully I can move on to the next obsession, whatever that may be. I'll still probably watch episode 39 on a daily basis though. It's just too enjoyable and it makes my day. Will probably, revisit this "review" in the future and update it because I'm aware that at this point it's not making a lot of sense.
RATING: 9/10 REWATCH VALUE: 10/10 definitely would watch again! ACTING: 10/10 CATEGORY: GUILTY PLEASURE

Spicy Take 🌶️
Dude, putting Xina Kwan up against y/n for Miguel’s affection is like putting a hydrogen bomb against a coughing baby.
Like my man is frothing at the mouth at the thought of having a second chance w this pixie manic dream girl he knew since middle school.
Xina was one of the first people who actually cared about his well-being and protected him when no one else would stand up. She outsmarted his father and made George look unbelievably stupid without letting George know.
She made LYLA, probably one of the only gifts he’s probably received from someone other than his brother. An AI he treats like a close companion and confidant because I’m sure she reminds him too much of Xina.
MAN WAS LITERALLY W ANOTHER WOMAN AND STILL KEPT A PHOTO OF HIM AND XINA BY HIS BEDSIDE. HE IS NOT OVER HER.
Their dynamic is incredibly interesting in that it goes against what people would expect from a cheating situation. Xina knows he fucked up, he knows he fucked up. YET SHES WILLING TO FORGIVE HIM BECAUSE SHES SEEING HIM CHANGE.
The theme of fixing past mistakes is so integral to miguels narrative and it so relevant in the rebuilding of trust between Xina and Miguel’s relationship. Its just so much more nuanced and interesting seeing them get back together than if they went their separate ways.
(I’m not at all endorsing forgiving a cheating partner irl, it just works for this fictional world because of the character growth and context)
She’s weird, she’s badass, she’s beautiful, and a great example of fun woc in the narrative. (whenever they’re not using her as a step stool for Dana and other 2099 writing choices). Her and miguel banter so well off of each other and she’s one of the only people he can let his guard down around.
Literally I can’t see Miguel with anyone other than her. Their two idiots fumbling around each other and I love it.

My Street Ramblings
Ok ok ok so @gonedreaminggg put it into words very well when they described My Street characters as more of characters than people. Which is so true!! Like I can list off some personality traits of some characters, but can you honestly tell me what Katelyn really thinks about Zane? Even though they're both main characters?
(Editors note, this post ran the fuck away from me so it's long as fuck sjdfjsdhg)
The problem MS has is that a lot of these characters get boiled down to the silliest, memeist versions of themselves, until Jess did a spin maneuver and made the series a story driven show with a darker tone and promptly crashed her faster car into a brick wall. But even before that happened, a lot of MS characters were lacking because of the forced perspective.
Until the plot shows up in season 4 and mandates characters splitting up constantly, a lot of the series is (sometimes literally) only seen from Aphmau's perspective. If interesting character drama is happening and she isn't around for it, it won't be seen. This was somewhat rectified in Season 5, but it was really too little too late. Because Aphmau has to be around for important stuff to happen, we don't really know the characters on a smaller scale, because the series is allergic to taking things slow.
Imagine an episode that's just watching Nana go through her day. She wakes up, starts making coffee, pulls a blanket over Katelyn who fell asleep on the couch watching K-drama's last night, and then goes outside with her morning coffee, a small breakfast, and sits on her porch and scrolls through Tumblr while people watching.
We follow her taking the bus to get to her barista job, and watch as she goes through an opening shift. Scenes fade showing the different parts of her job, maybe she has to deal with an angry customer and we see how she responds. Maybe while she's working one of her other friends from My Street shows up and gets an order and they have a chat as she's working. We watch the care she puts into it, and how she leaves little positive notes with drawings of cats, hearts, and flowers next to their name on their order.
My Street characters suffer from feeling like they aren't doing anything if the Main Character isn't around. How does Travis like to spend his weekends? We can make headcanons about it, but the show, the actual text, can't answer such a simple question about one of it's main characters.
My Street also suffers from having too many characters, but if the series was willing to slow down, all of them could be given proper time, especially because a lot of characters probably spend time together when Aphmau and Aaron aren't around.
I'm talking about an episode where it opens on Garroth honking his horn, and then Zane comes trudging out of his house, gets in the passenger seat, and lets out a huff. Garroth just gives him the aux cord, and Zane puts on his high school emo playlist he unironically enjoys. Garroth nods along to or even lip-sings some of the song (probably Welcome To The Black parade by MCR, I just know all the Ro'maeve brothers love that song.)
Speaking of which, they then pick up Vylad, and all three of them just go for a drive. Eventually they drive into the country side, pull off, and then turn the car off. Garroth pops open the trunk and the three of them all just chill out on a pile of blankets and pillows that were already there. They sit in silence for a while. Vylad and Zane pass a vape pen around, and every now and then Garroth takes a hit off of it.
Finally they all just talk. About life, about their feelings, about their parents, whatever they can think to talk about. Maybe Garroth brings up some of his gripes about his roommate, or Vylad confesses that they're struggling to figure out how to come out to their parents. This is clearly a routine these three established, and something all three of them greatly appreciate. Garroth and Zane never quite felt like brothers to me, but this? I could see myself doing this with my brother.
And for my final random idea I had while in the shower, I want to talk about Melissa my beloved. A character who only exists to help prop up an already existing character. Melissa has almost no identity outside of being Aaron's Sister. Let me ask you this, what's her job? Without checking the wiki?
My idea is that she works for her parents company, a boring, dreadful, and soul draining office job. It's the same routine day in, day out, nothing changes. Wake up, drive to work, sit at her office for 8 hours, go home, sleep, repeat. Until on Friday, when she's truly had enough, when she's just so tired as she slams the car door as she's getting in her car to leave and hangs her head. She's so exhausted, so drained, so miserable. Her moment of anguish is interrupted by her phone playing a stupid love song, and you can just see her face relax the minute she hears it.
She answers the phone, puts it on speaker, and sets it up on a stand in her car. Her relaxed expression turns into a love struck grin, her ears relax, and her tail starts wagging the minute she hears her girlfriend Lucinda's voice. After the drudgery of every single day being the same, just hearing her voice is like medicine to Melissa.
And then the two talk the entire time Melissa is driving to Lucinda's, and they're so so so gay when they see each other in person. They both get dolled up and flirt like dorks the entire time, and then we get a montage of them going out clubbing, singing karaoke, and getting white girl wasted despite neither of them being white.
My Street characters don't feel like people because they're not. They're mostly one dimensional characters who exist to fill out a roster or scene, and we get depressingly little insight into who they are as people.
I hope this post gave them and the MS fandom something to chew on.

Shaun of the Dead (2004), Dir. Edgar Wright, Starring Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost.
A romantic comedy, with zombies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For a while now, I have kept movie entries in my personal journal, it feels like a tangible way to commemorate and preserve a movie I feel deserves such attention, and even before I started that habit, I was intimidated by the entries for The Cornetto Trilogy.
All three movies were just so special and influential to me, and physical writing has a tendency to, y’know, get fucked up, so it was a struggle figuring out a way to both preserve my love for these films on my journal, and make it look mildly cute. Safe to say, I think I’ve achieved said balance.
This is the entry for Shaun! I tried to feature a lot of blood splatter/bloodstain motifs, in accordance to the movie obviously, and you might think the b&w colour scheme of the printed images was intentional, but the sad and almost hilarious truth is that it was a limitation! My printer is a laser printer, and those can’t do colours. So I tried to reach a monochromatic style with these entries, where I highlight one single colour that I think is reminiscent of the movie. For Shaun, it was obviously red.
I am not a movie critic (even if I like to think I am), so the personal thoughts section of the entry may come off as shallow or void of detail, I’m sorry about that! But if we’re honest, at this point in time, my love for these films should not be a point of doubt, even if my written thoughts are lax at best.
Tumblr media
I remember the first time I actually *heard* of Shaun of the Dead, it was via a kill count video on youtube, and even then I was intrigued by it, all the love and praise I had heard directed towards it was something that drew me in, I didn’t actively search out the movie just yet, I just kept it as a mental memo that I’d get to later.
Then, on one magical night, and by pure fate, I stumbled upon the film on cable TV, I was channel hopping and seeing the title on the screen made my eyes light up, this was my chance to see what all the *fuzz* was about. So I didn’t hesitate and I changed the channel from VH1, to experience the Shauning. My life changed at that instant.
Shaun of the Dead was the most charming and charismatic film I had seen up until that point, I had heard about how flawlessly it was edited and how well every single joke landed, but experiencing said praises in the flesh was phenomenal, and Simon’s role as Shaun was instantly memorable and you could say he was the thing that hooked me in. He was so cynical and snarky, yet caring and loving of the band of misfits he was surrounded by. Though Nick as Ed was also an incredibly charming experience.
Tumblr media
I remember just being completely entranced by everything surrounding the film, the movie kept going on and on and I kept finding stuff to love about it. The fact that it was clearly a movie that didn’t take itself too seriously as to be a de facto horror movie, yet it still conveyed emotions in a serious and profound way just really stuck a chord with me, and I’m sure everyone already praises this particular quality, but the quick, snappy and dynamic directing and editing choices characteristic of Edgar Wright are just lovely.
They manage to make the movie feel novel and it hooks you in, without risking making it feel overwhelming and too distracting. And I haven’t even mentioned the score and songs featured in the movie! While the film is perfect on a purely visual standpoint, the accompanying music on every scene elevates the overall feel of the scene you happen to be watching. Whether it be the mundane feeling of Shaun’s daily life, or the dread of the slow realisation that something ain’t quite right in London, or the inspiration and undying will to keep surviving and overcoming.
Frankly, I could go on and on and on about how much I adore this film, about how much it helped me deepen the love I have for filmmaking, and how much it even inspired to purchase filmmaking. But let’s be blunt, you guys probably don’t want to read my ramblings any longer, (but if you do for any reason, do let me know! I love feeling like my opinion matters in any way).
Tumblr media
So, Shaun of the Dead! If I could, I’d screen you to any person who even breathes in my direction, I love you so much and I’m sure I’ll rewatch you as soon as I get the TV to myself.
10/10.

So we already have shatterspin and rising dragon technique, which both combine Spinjitzu with one of the source dragon's powers, those being strength and motion specifically. So maybe one of the source dragon's powers is something like emotion, which is how Arin's Spinjitzu works. Maybe the one with the water symbol.

spare some thoughts on hi part 2 ?
tldr; Mostly concerned! Trying to be optimistic.
I'll start off with the new UI (user interface) because it's probably the easiest to discuss. The Ui pretty much just lost a lot of personality. Sure, it fits with the game's aesthetic (in some ways), but it's lost most of its charm. While the old UI looks somewhat outdated, I think the current (to-be old) UI of hi3 feels very personal and unique. I suppose it's unfair of me to have previously wanted the UI updated and be this whiny about it actually being updated though. To be fair, many changes may take place about the new UI, especially with how the community has been critiquing it, so I'm hopeful they'll take valid critiques to heart and adjust it to not just melt into another generic rpg gacha design.
My biggest quarrel would be with the way characters are displayed, but as for the way they changed the interference for the story selection and all of that, I like it. It's not *too* different, and it looks clean (albeit dull in colour)
Now, the thing I find myself the most concerned with would be the Part 2 story. The characters, the setting, and the aesthetics. For starters, the MC... I think she's very pretty. However, I really dislike the sort of nameless "self-insert" main characters. I think it's a boring cop-out, and it takes away from a lot of the overall story immersion (ironically enough). Kiana, from the very beginning, had a very strong personality, and the way her story progressed would be near impossible to accomplish effectively with a self-insert MC (taking how they've written self-insert MCs before with Genshin, HSR, APHO into consideration) It's a lot more challenging to write a compelling storyline with consistent immersion if the main character, the core of the story, lacks some sort of "self". I'm absolutely not saying it's impossible, but I can't say I'm especially optimistic about the Part 2 MC with how it's looking right now.
The overall character designs for part 2 are a bit of a far cry from the part 1 ones, especially the ones for the most recent arcs. However, this is not an especially bad thing. While it's different, I think it's good that they're straying away from having too similar character designs like the last Herrschers of part 1 (even if it makes some sense story-wise.) I don't especially love the new character designs (except for the female MC. Again, I find her very pretty (even if she looks a lot more like a HSR design). But that's unrelated and doesn't really take away from my point lol). They feel a little too out of place with the established aesthetics of HI3, and even though it is nice to have some separation from the part 1 and part 2 designs, they should keep it similar enough to be recognized as a HI3 design.
Overall, with the designs and aesthetics, it seems that they are going for a do-over for the entire game instead of creating something new as a continuation of what's already there. There's too much left unsaid or unused from part 1 that I feel that it is justified that they move on entirely (even if there appears to be a few references to part 1 in part 2, with Einstein's adopted child, as well as speculated Elysia connections to Part 2 characters iirc)
While the majority of Part 2 is pure speculation currently, I just hope that they don't neglect Part 1's story and characters like I suspect they might. I hope they use what's already there, and refrain from making HI3's lore so much more convoluted than it has to be, merely for the sake of moving on from what nearly no one in the community wished to move on from entirely.
Continuing a little with my worries for the plot, I worry they may dilute the intensity of the plot by a lot, or neglect the writing a bit. I myself find that one of the most, if not the most important parts of HI3 for me is the story, so the thought of it turning generic concerns me. I do feel like the recent chapters have been a little lackluster in comparison to chapters like Thunders over Nagazora or Set Tomorrow Ablaze, but that may just be personal preference, and i do enjoy that they have been reincluding characters like Schrodinger!!!!!!, Shigure Kira and Niggurath. Honestly, if they do go in the direction that they neglect Part 1 for the most part, it feels like an awful choice considering the buildup they've done with all of these reintroductions, as well as the major exposition they've done for the Sea of Quanta. With one of the quotes from the Part 2 teaser, I worry they won't make the story "gritty" at all. Honestly, something I adore about the HI3 story is just how dark it can get, and if anything, I hope they don't hold back in Part 2. It feels like the story has been getting a little lighter in that sense recently, and I feel as if it takes away a bit of the intensity in the story, as well as the stakes or even consequences.
With the way hoyoverse has been updating games recently, it seems that if one thing in one of their games sticks, they feel the need to apply it to their other games, even if the change is unnecessary. While this has brought some good changes to the games, with HI3 Part 2, it feels like they're only trying to cater to individuals who don't play HI3, but play HSR or any other of the newer HYV games. Biggest worry about this point: they'll go back to pushing Hi3 to be Open World. (Although that is very unlikely with how much the Hi3 community has critiqued previous open world gameplay in Hi3)
In general, I just really hope HI3 puts effort and love into the Part 2 story, characters and world. I pray that I am to be proven wrong in most of my concerns, and that speculation will remain speculation, and that my worries will be near nullified once Part 2 is out (over-optimistic thought). Everything I write here is undoubtedly thoughts that will change drastically, or at the very least, a little when there is more information known. I'm having a lot of trouble articulating myself at all with this stuff, but that’s just how it’ll be, I’m afraid. Keep in mind that this is all very subjective, and I'm merely speaking from my own thoughts. Some of which I feel that I didn't manage to express very well.
Anywho! I really like answering, or even just pondering my orb (asks like this) cause I just love Hi3 and thinking about Hi3 and all of that teehee
so likee,,, if people want to ask me more stuff about my interestst, please do

i think the main reason why i prefer sastiel over destiel is because there’s just this wonderful understanding and respect between sam and cas that cas and dean never had. sam is also the one who always treats cas like an actual person. sam actually respects the choices that cas makes instead of making it all about himself (like dean tends to do).
dean’s love for cas (and really anyone who isn’t sam) has always felt conditional. he cares about them as long as they don’t go against him. then when they decide to do their own thing he lashes out and maybe even physically or verbally abuses them. that’s obviously mostly because of his abandonment issues but i still don’t think it’s okay and i don’t want cas (or anyone obviously) to be treated like that.
idk i just feel like cas deserves better than dean. he deserves to be with someone who loves him for who he is and who trusts him and respects the decisions he makes and that’s always been sam, not dean.

Thinking about the tragedy of Jinx’s loneliness and how hard it will be for her to find a connection with others in her current state of mind.
Vi has Caitlyn, Ekko has the fireflies and Jinx currently has no one.
The thing about Silco and his relationship with her is that, yes, it was was unhealthy and co-dependent. But Silco also gave her everything she wanted in terms of validation and unconditional love.
Silco was just as screwed up as she was and they had a deep understanding she’ll probably never find again.
She’s pushed Vi and Ekko away, she’s developed a reputation for being too dangerous and too much of a loose cannon that everyone else is going to be avoiding her like crazy.
But ultimately the ideal relationships she has in her mind after years of being Silco’s daughter are completely unrealistic. She wants someone to shoulder the burden of all her issues and take all of her abuse the way Silco did. She wants someone to unquestionably forgive all her bad actions and it absolutely killed her that Vi wouldn’t be that person.
It’s just so sad because her ultimate desire in season 1 was love and acceptance, from Vi, her adopted family, from Silco. But there can’t be any love and acceptance for the person she became at the end of season 1. So where does she go now?
