getting emotional because it’s finally hitting me that the l4d fandom is so small nowadays :c

don’t get me wrong, it was never a big fandom anyways, even years back when it was at its most active

it’s super awesome that there’s still people a part of it to this day!! people still are making content, whether it be sfm, art, writing, etc… but it hurts that there’s not much, let alone not much frequency either

i totally get it tho. it’s a damn near 15yr old game, and not to mention a game that was basically just killing zombies lol. it doesn’t have what most fandoms want— deep lore, a storyline, lots of characters, etc. it makes sense that the fandom side isn’t going to be super active, especially today. hell, i was absent from the fandom for about 9 years. i just recently got back into it about 2 months ago or so. life definitely gets in the way.

and like i said, at the end of the day it’s just a first person shooter game.

but l4d was one of my first obsessions. i’ve been in many fandoms before, but l4d is the only one that i genuinely clung to. i’ve never been so invested in characters like i have with the survivors (the si too!)

i saw someone say that even tho they love the game and characters, have so many ideas for fics and sfm and whatnot, it’s basically hard for them to continue because there’s just no sense of community feeling anymore… and it’s because there’s almost no community anymore. it’s so hard to admit and accept that :/

and what makes me even more sad in a way is that tf2 is still a huge fandom. that’s super fucking awesome, nothing wrong with that at all, but it makes me sad that one valve game is super popular still fandom wise, while the other one isn’t.

the game community side of it is still active— on average there’s about 20,000 people playing per day. the highest i’ve personally seen recently has been almost 40,000 people. that’s super cool for such an old game!! but the fandom part of the game is so empty..

hopefully as time goes on there will be older fans coming back like how i did, or even new ones finding the fandom side and sticking around! i really don’t want this fandom to completely die.. if it ever does, a piece of me will always feel missing. already does tbh. i know that sounds super fucking corny but fuck man idk i have yet to find anything that makes me feel like how this game and it’s characters do. no show, movie, any other game.. nothin.

but it’s hard to actively be part of something that already isn’t active because it feels like you’re talking to a wall. it’s lonely. you want someone to gush over everything with, share ideas, role play— the list goes on.

i plan on continuing my love for the game and it’s fandom, and all i can do is appreciate the ones who are still here, and hope n pray that there will be more people again someday <3

thinking very hard about eggstra work for chill season, i just have the strangest feeling that it'll have a charger + blaster in the line-up and that it'll coincide with reload's release just to laugh at me....

so this is like two asks ig? but what is ur most unique sean headcanon, and what is ur sean headcanon that you will defend with your life (i really love ur headcanons lol)

OOOHHHHH ANON!!!!!! we're in it now lmfaoo THANK YOU first of all I'm honestly so glad people enjoy my headcanons/rants about these characters!! RDR2 is my first time really foray-ing into fandom space like this (previously having kept my writing & thoughts to closed circles of friends lol), and the reception here has overall been a lot more than I ever expected!! Especially since I've really picked my faves <;- said while sideeyeing the 28 works in the macsummers tag on AO3.

ANYWAY these are some insanely good questions, anon, and I've been thinking about them ALL DAY, so I'll do my very best to answer you here in a way which does these questions justice.

It's hard for me to know which one of my Sean HCs is the most unique, as I have a LOT of HCs, and I've been posting a LOT of them over the course of the past few months. I've been told (as a compliment!!) that my overall take on him & the connections I make regarding him is unique, which I obviously am very flattered by! But I also don't think it's too hard to be unique when you're thinking & talking about a character who generally isn't given the same amount of genuine consideration and meta as other characters from the same franchise. Like, I could be talking at length about Arthur, or Charles, or John (and I HAVE!!! Not on tumblr, but still, I love those characters too!!) but my takes would probably not generate the same kind of attention by virtue of those characters being talked about a lot by a lot of other people too!! My posts about Sean stick out because there's not a whole lot of other people writing posts about Sean in the meta/HC style I do!

(Sidenote, while I don't fault the RDR2 fandom for not giving Sean his dues - he is a side character who dies very early on, and who is easy to stereotype, after all - I AM very glad and grateful that the stuff I've said & shared seems to have impacted some people's understandings of him, at least in the circles I run in. As of late I've been seeing a lot more thoughtful takes on him, reflecting how he has the capability of being just as nuanced as several of the other characters in the game. Maybe that's because I'm right in the middle of it though; most RDR2 circles I'm in KNOW me as the Sean stan, and engage with my takes on him, after all!!)

So like, is my most unique Sean headcanon among the ones that reflect canon & actually took off, impacting some people's view of him - like how he DOES mirror a younger Arthur, and how he fulfills a role in the gang, and how his death is necessary to set the tone for the rest of the game? Or is my most unique headcanon him being a gnc bi poly king in the messiest possible queerplatonic triad with Karen and Lenny? Is it that I think he prefers licorice to chocolate? That I think his favorite color is burgundy(not that he'd call it that)? I don't know! I both have so many HCs that picking one is extremely hard for my Libra-ass-self, and I don't have many others writing similar stuff to compare myself with, at all! I'd love to hear from others, though, if anyone else who's been reading my Sean posts have any takes regarding what of my stuff has stuck with them!!!

OKAY sorry for the rant mkjhbjj It's probably not what you were looking for asking me that but it's something that's on my mind, given that I think a fair amount of the uptick in my following over the past few months, if not from AO3, is very much from my RDR2 meta posts - which are in majority about Sean.

ANYYYWAYYY as for a Sean HC I will defend with my life - DEFINITELY the Sean learning disabilities ones - he is INCREDIBLY ADHD & dyslexia coded to me, it MASSIVELY influences how I write him in my fics, and I don't think anyone will ever argue me away from that one. Also, Sean siding with Arthur & John in the end, IS a hill I will die on - to the point that I've written several posts about/referring to it mjnhbnjbh Honestly though, I am a petty bitch who will die on most hills available to me, and I'm not afraid of confrontation, so I am a little bit of a menace when it comes to my Sean HCs and defending them lolol I'm overall very pleased they've gone over well with the rest of the Sean stan community here on tumblr though!! Yall are the best fr <3<3<3

So, when things got heated, things got heated. Nanami wasn't normally the forceful one, but when it came back to push and shove, he was the one sitting on the bed. Nanami really needed to ignore the day, ignore work, and enjoy himself for once. it was so hard to put something aside for himself, and yet he couldn't help but forget everything right now.

His hands roamed along her body for a moment, he felt her knee on his crouch and felt her pushed against him, he couldn't help but exhale a soft groan from his lips as he took the moment to grab her waist, and soon picked her lip, standing up in a moment noticed and throw her onto the bed. Taking the moment to take off what was left of his clothes, he moved to straddle on top of her. Nanami couldn't help but soon grab both her hands and put them both over her hand. Luckily he was able to do that with one hand, huh. smirking, he leaned back down and gave her a kiss, before he moved his arm along her side, placing the palm on her and rubbing gently enough. wanting to hear her whine a little bit.

Leaning down just enough to whisper into her ear he couldn't help but smirk a little bit. Speaking gently into her ear, along with a few kisses placed along her neck, he was going to give in for her, just for tonight.

"Fine, I give in. You are mine for the rest of tonight."

Do you think that Michael loves photography?

Do you think he collects different style and era cameras? Do you think his favorite is any type of camera that uses photographic film?

Michael loves developing film, and has a dark room dedicated to it in his and Adam’s apartment.

Michael is always wearing a camera around his neck and he’s always taking pictures of Adam. He has enough pictures of Adam to fill up a city bus three times over.

Adam loves when Michael takes pictures, he poses and models and puts on whatever kind of show Michael wants him to.

The resulting pictures are silly and fun, full of life, and full of adam’s personality. That’s why Michael loves them so much.

That’s why Michael takes so many. That’s why Michael keeps them all, even the blurry ones. That’s why Michael dedicates so much time to his hobby.

Michael loves photography in spite of the fact he has no need for pictures.

His memory is eidetic, better than eidetic. It’s inhuman, extraordinary. He doesn’t require photographs to vividly recall events from long in the past as humans sometimes do. However, holding something physical, something he put time into, gives him such satisfaction that he loves photography; and Adam loves that Michael loves it.

He tells Michael about how “He’s acting more human-like.” and that “He’s going soft on him.”

Michael promptly denies these claims but the fact of the matter is, it’s true.

Since they became free, he has felt closer to Adam. He has understood what it is to be human, before he only had Adams memories and retellings, the real thing is so much more… intense.

Michael has enjoyed his days more than ever before, and he thinks something of lower life forms. Never before has he ever even given a thought to insect life, but photographing a delicate Monarch, or a sharp mantis puts these smaller life forms into perspective for him.

All the things he was never bothered to care about before, he sees now.

He feels now.

He loves now.

omg this took a while because like... am i funny enough for this 😭 first thing that came to my mind was in the nick of time (wanderer). it's not a funny line, per se, but i guess it is the punchline, and in context it's funny (promise). i don't think i'll ever be able to write a line that's by itself funny. always got to be in need of some context or something.

it's not a very punching line, but i feel in the context of what i hoped was conveyed in the fic, this line can cause some damage. throughout the whole fic we sort of see that they're tight, but are they really though because reader hides things from thoma and thoma was able to do things behind reader's back. we sort of see at the end that ayato is the mastermind for some of their most intimate moments, which leaves the question: what are they? and it's not the whole romantic lens of "are we dating" although on the surface it is.

at the end of the day, they are partners. they are work partners. but whether it becomes something more or less, ayato has done what he wants and it's up to thoma to pick up the pieces and put it back himself.

To help with Brain Boredom at work I've spent this week assembling a playlist with one song per letter of the alphabet. I did this by combing through my entire library of liked songs on spotify (over 3k songs) and narrowing it down to my Number One Favorite song per letter.

For some letters it was very immediately apparent what one I would choose (looking at you, Normal Song) but for other letters, trying to cut it down to only one song felt like I was murdering my own children.

Surprisingly, there are no Florence, Evanescence, or Fleetwood Mac songs on the list at all. May have to re-evaluate my entire life (moreso than I already have been the past several months lollllll)

okok so my biggest one for blue lock is definitely REO. and here's why

reo lowkey has like attachment and abandonment issues (thanks nagi!!) and like .... ME TOO!! (cries in parental problems) so we'd both be like very attached to each other and wouldnt ever have to doubt if the other person loved us and much as we loved them. NO INSECURITIES YAY!!!

reo loves pampering people. its his love language. I LOVE BEING PAMPERED BC IT MAKES ME FEEL SO SPECIAL (again cries in parental problems lol my parents never made me feel special HAHAHA) (this post is actually js me trauma dumping)

PLAY CHAPTER 2: PART I

It's here! First, sorry for the long wait. Chapter 2 has proven to be a behemoth, and I'd gotten sick this past week, my computer broke, my documents went kaput and I had to do some Frankensteining for the last few pages of this part. I'm not too worried, as Part II update can help smooth out all the kinks. I will definitely be looking for beta testers once chapter 2 is complete ha

Anywho! Enough about my problems. This demo update adds 86k words (86, 818 to be exact) and is the first part of a two part chapter. Which means the narrative in this chapter is not complete, but I kind of closed it off at a pretty satisfying place. As with every Infamous chapter, this is very character driven. So have fun!

What to expect in Chapter Two PART I:

get on the bus & deal with the consequences of your actions lol

arrive to your first tour stop and do your first gig...which might get messy (both literally and figuratively)

hang with a familiar father and daughter duo

have some heart to hearts/ some cheeky little POV passages

meet more BOTB crew and learn exactly what's in store for you this season

get roped in some ValenReign mess !

Maintenance:

this chapter has a lot of flavor text, or at least, more than the demo did, so if there are any errors or if there are lines that don't correspond with your choices, please let me know so i can fix that!

you will no longer be forced to write your own lyrics and the update will offer you pre-written lyrics by yours truly. im not t swift so i would advise you not to expect professional level songwriting, but they work well enough lolol

lyrics page is up as well as stats, but i don't really like the system i used to balance it, mostly because new...stat things will be added as the story goes on, so that's still getting reworked. still, good enough for now, as there are some personality stat checks!

Prologue and Chapter 1 errors/typos/grammatical bits fixed. (Wouldn't be surprised if I missed some though...) + variables updated.

Can choose to be asexual and any sexual scenes will be skipped or replaced with romantic scenes. Flavor text in which MC displays any sort of sexual desire will be skipped. (This option comes up during Dakota's party scene. If not, it will show up when it presents itself again.) (Nothing sexual has come up yet, but if there are any scenes or even lines/ internal thoughts that should be skipped or changed for Asexual MCs, please let me know!)

atsushi is a 6 of 10. definitely hides any jealous thoughts, at least until you're both home, but is absolutely bitter about it after

dazai is a fair 7 of 10. i don't have a lot to say about him, but he most definitely gets jealous easily

kunikida is a 5 of 10. when he's with you and you get hit spoken to by someone else, he just takes control of the situation and leaves with you. obviously against your choices, but he doesn't trust you.

ranpo is a 6 of 10. doesn't get too worried about other guys because he knows you wouldn't go for anyone else other than the greatest detective ever, but when another guy flirts with you, he just feels the need to.. step in.

yosano is a 7 of 10. she doesn't mind when others speak to you, as long as they aren't flirting with you, and that's a loose term with her. asking for directions in a large mall could get someone's fingers chopped off if she was in a particularly annoyed mood.

fukuzawa is a 4 of 10. he doesn't care if people talk to you either, but flirting is off the table with him. even so, he'll just leave the area and take you with him, he can't just let some other guy talk to you, are you crazy?

akutagawa is a 8 of 10. if someone's making small talk or something he doesn't care, but even speaking to you or looking at you for too long is just like asking for him to beat them senselessly.

chuuya is a 8 of 10. like akutagawa, small talk doesn't matter to him. you're socializing, who cares? but he's absolutely jealous of your friends, especially your close ones. strangers, he can beat the shit out of those, but your friends? he can't do anything there, so he just sits in silence.

higuchi is an 9 of 10. she hates when anyone else talks to you, she just can't stand it. she'll openly tell you how much she hates it when other people beside her 'flirt' with you, and makes you promise not to hurt her like that again.

gin is a 3 of 10. she does get jealous of other people like your closer friends, but doesn't act on anything, just sits in silence. maybe she'll express to you she was jealous, but she won't hurt anyone unless they make advances on you

tachihara is a 6 of 10. he does get jealous of your friends, but doesn't hate them. he just wants to be in their place. who says you should spend all your time with them? leave some room for him, won't you?

sigma is a 7 of 10. he won't make direct moves if he's jealous, he'll only tell you he's jealous afterward, or work behind scenes to get rid of the certain person he thinks talks to you a little too much for his liking.

fyodor is a 9 of 10. he doesn't think you'll talk to anyone else, it's about others talking to you. he just can't have you talking to anyone but him. why would you need to anyway?

nikolai is a 8 of 10. i don't have a whole lot to say about him either, but he's not afraid to be... himself,, if someone talks to you a little too much.

jouno is a 9 of 10. he knows you won't actually speak to other guys.. but still. he isn't chill when other guys talk to you, and gets worse when they eye you the wrong way,

tecchou is a 4 of 10. this man sees no reason to be jealous of your friends, or anyone who says they don't want you. why would they lie to him anyway? look at him, he's strong as hell. would you lie to him? didn't think so

• Jiyan

– The first time he saw you was inside one of the enemy cave's hiding spot. those enemies has just hold you captive inside the cave, and Luckily Jiyan found you after he defeat the enemies.

– Upon seeing the Legendary Beauty of someone who is Most likely not a human, you left Jiyan flustered after seeing your Ethereal beauty.

– So beautiful, That it tells him right away that you are indeed not a Mortal, perhaps.

"are you.. a nymph?" Asked Jiyan, while looking down at you.

You nods.

"Hm.. interesting. i thought you and your kind was only a mere mythology, yet here i am. meeting the legendary nymph." Jiyan Says.

Seeing your body full of scars and marks, Jiyan decided to Bring you to his headquarters, he cant just leave a beautiful pearl that he just found inside that enemy cave is he?

• Scar

– He already seems to heard about the rumor of a Lady who has the beauty to surpass any living nor dead mortal in Huanglong. it is almost Unbelieveable to be heard about it.

– But scar has a Burning Soul for Rumors, he wants to see for himself, The Beauty Lady. He decided to track you down in Huanglong, using his powers (and also making his sister searching for you too).

– Upon seeing you for the first time, same as Jiyan. you have left the Culprit all blushing to himself seeing how beautiful you truly are. so beautiful.. must not be a human, eh?

– it is true about the rumors that have been flying around Huanglong, One look into her eyes, and all of their hearts falls down following her step. just like what Scar's Experiencing at that time.

– Now, He decided to Introduce himself, trying to make that rizz move towards the pretty lady. though there are some cautious feeling that Scar is also felt right now about that you are most likely not a Mortal.

"well Hello There..~ pretty lady.." Scar said in a very forced sexy voice.

"oh hello scar." you replied back to him, While watering your Plants.

Scar decided to move towards you from your back. trying to get closed to you. when you were just peacefully taking care of your plants, you felt a pair of hands coming to touch your face.

You grab that hands quickly and throwing it down into the air.

"Ouch! quite the fierce pretty lady i see.." Scar muttered beneath his breath. before he open his mouth again.

"You.. you are not a human are you?" Scar asked. while seeing your stoic face melt into a bit worried expression.

"There is no way.. someone as beautiful as you, is a mortal. there's no way.. are you – perhaps a fairy?" Asked Scar while walking close to you. so close that it felt you both could just kiss at that time. Scars hand decided to travel around your Silky hair.

"are you an angel? a Spirit? something that is obviously not human? are you a vampire? or.. are you a nymph?" he asked. upon asking, you could feel the exaggerated tone when he mentioned the words 'nymph'.

Scared that he might (already) know your identity, and just how annoying this red & white haired dude is, you decided to just.. go.

You clears your throat. "Well, Scar.. may i excuse? i have something to do. maybe we can speak later." says you. while looking down at the ground, trying to not look into his eyes.

You decided to leave him there, try not to be bothered by his following gaze. upon that, you could also feel his lips curled into a smile.

Interesting, truly an interesting pretty lady.. too bad it seems Scar has been taking a liking for you. now you just have to wait.. The Culprit Next Move. hopefully at that time, you were finally ready for him.

• Lingyang

– The first time, The-most-to-be-likely a Jingle Beast met you, is when he was trying to play with the other kids in the not so deep forest.

– he was just having fun with his human friends. and so, until he sees A very beautiful lady. walked up to him. and all of the sudden, the plays stop. all of his friends including lingyang himself, saw you with such Stargazing eyes.

– All of the boys mouth were opened while seeing you walked past them.

– After your presence left, all of his friends were starting to talked to each other about your Unreal Drop Dead Beauty.

– Except Lingyang.. sure he admires your beauty just as much as his friends do. but.. he seems soo stern and quiet all of the sudden. in his minds, he can smell how different you are from how an usual human female scent would do. you.. are you an angel? he asked himself inside his mind.

The next day, he decided to go to the woods, not to play with his human friends. but to search for you. with your scent that still lingering inside his mind, he decided to search something that smells like you, perhaps those scent can bring him to meet with you again.

And he was right, after a hours searching for you – he met a very beautiful cottage near a lake in the middle of the woods. the cottage was so beautiful, it has a soft white wall, a beige door and a dark brown roof. its not so big, but it felt cozy. the cottage is decorated with a beautiful white wisteria flowers with beige ribbons attached to it. in the windows, he can see a beautiful daisy in a soft pink coloured pot in front of it. just by seeing the cottage and how the house was scented in. he knew that it is your cottage.

Lingyang decided to stop to wait for you and so he decided to look around the house while waiting. when he was waiting for you, he learned about your obsession with flowers and soft colour by how you decorate your cottage. such a beautiful lady and a beautiful taste.

After a couple of hours, your presence start to become more and more clearer to him, you finally did come! you come while wearing a beautiful white lace dress with soft pink cardigan on it. your hair is beautiful and you also wear a white ribbon attached into the back of your hair. you also bring a basket full of Beautiful fresh flowers in it. seeing his presence in your area, you became confused. what does this weird looking guy wants with you?? you think to yourself.

Seeing your confused gaze, Lingyang decided to approach you little by little while Introducing himself to you.

"Hello! My name is lingyang. sorry if i come to your house uninvited. but i was just sooo intrigued with your presence! you just look soo.. hm.. beautiful i'd say!" Lingyang says, trying to keep it friendly yet not creepy for you to think that he's weird. (little did he know, you already think that he is weird from the time you saw him waiting outside your cottage.)

"oh hello. my name is [y/n]. nice to meet you.. eh.. lingyang." you replied. while putting a soft smile into your face.

Seeing your beautiful smile, Lingyang's heart drop. You could literally see his cheeks heaten up after seeing your smile.

You chuckled. but you realize that it was almost due. and so.. since he looks like a child, you dont want to take the risk to talk with a child when its almost night. so you decided to end the meeting.

"Well uh, Lingyang.. its nice for me to meet you, y'know.. but i think its getting more dark. we should end our talking, and then maybe we can talk more tomorrow in the morning, how's that sound, hm?" you asked.

"Oh! well i guess so.. well.. i'll meet you again tomorrow, Angel!" Lingyang says, while waving at you with a huge smile on his face. seeing that and hearing how he called you angel makes your cheek also turned red. dammit! its reverse card was it? ugh.. you thought to yourself.

But oh well, Lingyang was so excited that he has made a friend with a very beautiful lady that lives in a cottage, inside the woods today. he just cant imagine how good his days would be when he meets you again tomorrow. now, both of you needs a good rest for the next good day.
