so, (SPOILERS FOR FIONNA AND CAKE but its relevant to the question but im gonna put a bunch of line breaks just in case lol)

so fionna and cake ended with fionna basically being like, you know, youre RIGHT god, if magic came back my wish would simply be twisted and it would suck, there will be no rule breaking miracles! I will now work as a struggling minimum wage employee in seattle and Be Happy about it. i sure am glad the threat of losing everyone i know and love set me straight!! sorry to send u this really random thing the ending just felt like such a slap in the face and i wanted to ask someone who knows that exact Seattle Struggle. this is absolutely me appealing to the Writing Gods to back me up that the ending wasnt very good lmao but if i have a direct line to the craftsgoat i simply must use it for something stupid at least once

FULL SERIES SPOILERS FOR FIONNA & CAKE AFTER THE BREAK!!!

i really disagree with your read on the ending. it didn't feel like "just struggle with seattle minimum wage forever and be happy about it" at all to me! the whole instigating incident was that fionna wanted to transform reality into something that she personally thought would be better, without taking into account the fact that other people exist and have internal lives just as complex as hers. she comes back to her original world to find marshall and gary holding hands, explains to them the magical adventure she's been on and the fact that their world is about to transform into something unrecognizably magical, and they receive this with abject horror! fionna doesn't know whether simon becoming ice king again will erase marhsall & gary's burgeoning relationship, which makes her realize that in her quest to escape the boring, oppressive reality of working odd jobs to make ends meet, she's only ever focused that energy on how to make things better for her.

i really want to dig into this because it's a key theme of the show. there is a destructive selfishness innate to the "heroes" of this universe, who feel entitled to the joyous empowerment of being able to defeat anyone and everyone they see in open combat. cake has a whole musical number about this! simon's arc in the last two episodes was betty grabbing him and shaking him until he finally asked himself, how would my life have been different if i'd just once let the woman i loved steer the ship for a while? and then of course we see the lich in a reality where he succeeded in eradicating all life, only to find himself desiccated and without purpose, begging the god of chaos for an answer it cannot give. brian david gilbert's ice prince seems perfectly put together and successful, until the reveal that he's outsourced his madness to someone who didn't accept the terms of the crown's curse. this didn't solve the fundamental problem, it just inverted the roles of its expression by making princess bubblegum into the mad candy queen. nothing about the status quo has changed, simon has simply given himself a more dignified role in it.

this is a story about what happens when people in struggle behave as though they are the protagonist of reality. when fionna says "this is the world i want to fight for" she's not fighting for the right to get another shitty minimum wage job. i think you've really missed something by accepting that conclusion when cake the cat is right there saying that her magical self IS the version of herself she wants to live as. being a normal house cat for her was, arguably, a form of body dysmorphia, and the show lets her keep that magic at the end! the thing is, their world IS changed by the events of the show! the status quo is altered!

like, what do we actually see everyone DOING when the credits approach? we see this entire disconnected community banding together to rebuild the city together, and we see a huge crowd of protesters outside marshall's mom's place demanding that she lower rents. we see people connecting with other people, including three outcasts from other universes escaping to this more boring one for their own safety. i loved this ending honestly, because it felt to me like an attempted refutation of the very idea that you can magically transform reality into something better overnight. if fionna'd gotten her original wish and made her world into, like, candy world, then... what? let's say they play it as like, at last people are freed from the shackles of capitalism and everyone just gets to be weird funky critters going on adventures or whatever. what would that, as art, actually say? what would that mean to us in the real world? if we're going into this cartoon looking for some kind of revolutionary energy (which IS present in the text, much to its credit), what actionable or symbolically resonant message are we supposed to take from a story that resolves its problems with magic? at that point, it ceases to be relevant as anything more than pure fantasy, because it has abandoned any connection to the material reality WE are trapped in.

i don't want to magically transform the world overnight. this whole show goes out of its way to explore how trying to transform the world overnight, in a world where such a thing is possible, is a really fucking bad idea for a whole host of reasons. regardless, such things aren't possible in our world. so going into the finale, my worry was that they WOULD turn fionna's world into another candy world and just say, ah, the revolution is when you think the right things so hard that the material plane bends to your will.

that's neoliberal thinking. that's like the essence of the failed leftist project of the "end of history" era from the 90s onwards, when marxism was systematically rooted out of academic cultural analysis and replaced with the delusion that if you can just get people thinking the right things, you can affect change in the world. well here we are, it's 2023 and all that magical thinking has got us is a world on fire and a civilization of human beings so thoroughly disempowered that they would literally rather pretend to be a tortured anime protagonist than exist in this boring, shitty, violent reality. you can't think your way out of oppression. raising labor consciousness is, at best, step one. you want to know why unions are winning big right now when they've been completely useless in this country for decades? it's because they've stopped giving a shit about optics they can't control and remembered that the boss's value does not exist without labor. you do not necessarily need marxism for this, marxism is simply the most accurate articulation of the fact that workers who make the things a capitalist sells can kneecap the capitalist by refusing to make the things they want to sell. change doesn't happen with the publishing of a book or whatever, it happens when enough people in real life press their material demands hard enough that someone in charge is left no choice but to listen.

so for me, fionna & cake ending the way it did was a huge relief, because it wasn't espousing magical thinking. the solution to fionna's ennui and economic anxiety was not to just get another job and be happy to live in the world as it was-- it was to create a sense of shared community and struggle, uniting the not-seattleites in their survival of a near-apocalypse and using it as a jumping off point for fundamentally transforming the state of that world as it exists. fionna had to realize that her problems are everyone's problems, and that making her life personally better at the expense of everyone else's agency is just an act of kicking the can of responsibility down the road indefinitely. no one who gets their wish in this show is happy to have gotten it, or avoids punishing others who didn't ask to be involved.

the "canonization" of fionna & cake felt like a reaction to the idea that we in our world are permanently isolated from the fictional realities we create where change seems to come so easy, and the powerlessness that can engender. instead this show is saying, okay, let's say we are in continuity with these fantastical realities. what do we actually DO with that? how do we make this world more fun, more interesting, more fulfilling for everyone to live in? the answer is the same as it's always been, and no other answer would ever feel satisfying: you do it by organizing the workers against the current arrangement of the state with the explicit goal of transforming it for the better.

what does simon do at the end when he gives fionna her world to her? he says that no one person should have that responsibility, that it's been in one person's hands for too long. so he gives it to her in the form of a dandelion, whose blown seeds merge with and become part of everyone trying to survive the scarab's attack. the idea here is that while no single person ever possesses the power to transform the world on their own, the world itself belongs to all of us, and it is within our power to transform it together. those who hoard power want us to believe that this is not the case precisely because the basis of their power is fraudulent and maintained through the violence of the state.

as someone who does live in seattle for better and worse, as much as i do wish i could make literally anything better right the fuck now by whatever means necessary... the fact is i can't. and it does no one any good to labor under the assumption that i or any other individual has that kind of absolute transformative power. the solutions are all right there, and they are simple, materialist propositions whose only difficulty lies in how successfully we've been propagandized to think that the individual is God, or at least speaks on His behalf. there's no thinking our way out of this pickle, and no one's gonna do the hard work for us.

as to the question of how you actually get people in real life to get together and do all that hard work... well, personally i think it's unfair to ask a 10 episode cartoon show to give you any kind of actionable advice on that front. i might even go so far as to say that such an expectation is an expression of the very same magical thinking which the show tries to push back against! in any case i liked it quite a lot and i hope this rambling answer encourages you to revisit the show and reconsider some of your takeaways

Percy's acts and perceptions of Loyalty

So I am watching the show and I KNOW Percy's fatal flaw is loyalty and I am just eating up (and writing down) all of the subtle hints to that as the episodes come out.

- Sure he's mad at Poseidon for neglecting him, but he is TWICE as pissed at Poseidon for abandoning Sally. "I don't care if he ignores me, but he can't just ignore you" and "Im gonna make him see us both"

- "You are Poseidon's son" "I'm Sally Jackson's son!"

- Percy wasn't going to accept the quest to the underworld UNTIL he heard about his mom. He ain't going for the gods. He's going for SALLY

- His absolute LACK of hesitation when picking Anabeth for the mission. Like I know it's cause he thinks they can't be friends but i also think it's cause she actually did help him at camp (in her own weird Anabeth way) and he respects that.

- The way he trusts Grover above everything, even despite what the Oracle said (I know the "friend" is Luke. But still.)

- in an odd, but similar vein he clocked Luke and Anabeth and said that he DIDN'T choose Luke because he thinks that Luke would be too Loyal to Anabeth and if she decided to stop Percy from his quest he thinks Luke would have helped her

-when he was arguing with Anabeth he told her to stop bringing Grover into this because "he's on my side. He's my protector"

- he trusts his mom's stories, which lead him to trusting Medusa.

- He was defending Anabeth when Medusa was bad mouthing her in the kitchen despite thinking they could never be friends

- Medusa ALMOST had Percy on her side by playing to his affection for Sally, but the MOMENT she suggested that he should betray Anabeth and Grover and insinuated that they would betray him he was like "Aight, gotta go"

- Percy understand the importance of motherly connection and immediately dropping the idea of burying the hat because it's important to Anabeth and then giving it back to her when he shipped the head

- "Medusa said she'd help me find my mom if I betrayed the the two of you" "and what did you say?" "I cut off her head"

- in the preview of the next episode he's seen moving Anabeth and Grover to safety before what looks like attempting to 1v1 the chimera.

I'm so normal about this. The perfectly normal neurotypical act of writing down every scrap of what I think is foreshadowing shall continue as more episodes come out.

Uh Oh I Thought About The Music In The Finale Too Hard And It Started Bothering Me Again

ok so aside from one of my favorite scenes in the entirety of mob psycho getting cut from the last episode, a decision which will haunt and torment me until my dying days, my biggest issue with the last episode was always the music and i think ive been able to finally pin down a coherent explanation as to why

disclaimer: i am not a music expert. i was in choir in middle school and i like listening to people who actually know about music talk about music, but this is not a professional opinion so take it with a grain of salt

so first, 99 playing during reigen running towards mob. my problem with this is less the song choice and more that the anime decided to completely change the tone of the entire scene. like, 99 works perfectly for the hype exciting scene they were trying to create! i just dont think this scene should have been hype and exciting. this isn’t a “music is tonally inconsistent” problem so much as a “tone is inconsistent with events unfolding” problem so im not going to put much focus on it.

what IS tonally inconsistent though is the next track that plays after it (timestamped)

this scene is supposed to be not just the reveal that reigen is okay but the reveal that dimple, a character who we’ve spent the last six episode thinking was dead, is alive! and the music they chose is so... sinister??? wouldn’t something more triumphant or energetic fit here??? i get that it has to segway into a really emotional song next so it can’t be too upbeat but wouldnt something like this maybe fit better??? it’s another song associated with dimple possessing someone who isn’t especially powerful to let them achieve something they normally wouldn’t, it’s pretty dramatic, it’s exciting, it has kind of an emotional through line in the back of it with the violins???

the next song is perfect. no notes. the second i heard it in the mob character trailer before season 3 dropped i was like “oh theyre going to use that for reigen’s confession” and i was 100% right. in fact, this song being so perfect for this scene is what makes the next song choice so confusing.

huh? what? why???? on the elementary school level of “well this is labelled mob’s theme and this is mob’s moment of self acceptance so it has to go here” i can maybe understand but it is the most jarring tonal whiplash i have ever felt watching a television show. this is music that we normally here when mob is fighting an enemy, this is supposed to gear us up for conflict. it does not fit the bittersweet catharsis of mob accepting his whole self at all.

ive seen two different edits with different soundtracks i prefer, one with “Passing my heart, I'm getting bigger” (at least im pretty sure thats what its called? すれ違う心・大きくなったなぁ?) and one with “Mob’s Kindness”. personally, i feel like mob’s kindness would be the best option. for one, one of them already played at an emotionally climactic moment during the final episode last season so it might be a bit weird to do it a second time. second, for when we last heard “mob’s kindness” it actually fits really well with this scene on a couple different levels.

just the title of the song on its own fits with the scene. it’s the first time mob really extends kindness towards himself rather than trying to repress it or smother it in guilt and self loathing. we also have to consider the last place it was used and how that echos this scene. the first time we hear mob’s kindness is in season 2 episode 1, following the line “i made the decision to consider my feelings more”, a line which fits really well with what the “100% shigeo kageyama” moment is trying to get across. “shigeo kageyama” is mob’s repressed power and, more relevantly, his repressed emotions that he’s been bottling up for years now. “mob” flaking apart and forming “shigeo” also kind of visually echos emi’s novel getting ripped apart and brought together again by mob’s power, so that’s another little mirror between these two scenes. mob putting emi’s novel back together is the first time we see him using his powers for another person, not to save them from any sort of threat, but just as an act of simple kindness. it’s the beginning of a realization he has during the mogami arc, these powers arent just a burden, he can use them to help people. and he doesn’t even need to limit it to that, he can just use them to express himself and have fun because they aren’t just tools that can be used, they’re a part of him.

A bunch of noir headcanons because im normal i promise

- Either really sensory avoidant or seeking, it depends on the day

- Either way he's still pretty affectionate, on the avoidant days its usually just words of affirmation but otherwise he's the type of person to like pat someone on the back or something (there's actual movie scenes in itsv that supports this)

- The strongest sense of justice you'll see. He sees an injustice and soon enough he's interfering

- He will find a way to get information out of you if you have it, he used to work for the press, and is a private eye, and he was damn good at BOTH

- The color of his webs depends on how long its been since his last revival. Darker usually means its been less time, and it usually lasts for like a month or two before it becomes white again

- Intrusive thoughts about violence that he's just slowly become desensitized to

- Used to be all bark no bite before he got his powers, would get his ass kicked a LOT, but now, i mean, he still gets his ass kicked sometimes, but he's more capable of holding his own

- He has fangs and claws, because, come on, he's literally been revived like multiple times by the spider-god, she's had to replace something

- Speaking on that, a lot of his blood is significantly darker than his natural color, because of the god having to replace it

- Actually figured out how to use futuristic technology pretty quickly

- In shattered dimensions, he definitely thought Madame Web's voice was the spider-god talking to him before he was like "hold on she doesnt sound like that, who the fuck are you?"

- Swears like a sailor, but doesnt like younger people doing it

- Probably screamed in agony at seeing all the colors for the first time, especially in brooklyn during the night, thats gotta cause so much eye strain, especially in a black and white world

- Actually could see color in his world, but they were pretty dull colors, almost monochrome, but not

- Most people cant see the difference though

- Has met Miguel before (shattered dimensions) and was absolutely just in shock by the change

- A god at cooking, shit at baking, he tried to make cookies and almost burnt down the house

- Sometimes just feels like a puppet for the spider-gods entertainment

- Religious trauma is strong with this man, i can tell

- Derealization episodes where it feels like he's just not there anymore

- Back to his blood being darker the more he loses it, he has a full on breakdown over it once he realizes it, because he percieves it as a sort of indicator that he isnt human anymore

- The most unintentionally father figure acting person you'll ever see, he doesnt realize how many people see him as a dad, and if he does he's just extremely confused

- Had his gun with him the entire time in ITSV, just didnt want to accidentally scare someone with it

- Has a pretty good relationship with the other spiders in Shattered dimensions, but ends up getting a little iffy about Miguel once he brings up the canon events

- He almost fought him after Miguel brought up his uncle Benjamin and all his other canon events (ive only read like two issues of the comics im SORRY)

- The most vibrant color he saw in his world was the color of his spider-sense; a red

- For this reason, he can point out red really quickly

- Increased senses, to the point where it can become a hindrance

- Constantly on alert, checks so many things to make sure that he's not being followed

- Despite being naturally weaker than all the spiders, he can punch clean through walls

- He'd be bruised and a bit scraped by it but otherwise he's perfectly fine

ok ill bite. Who is joyce

okay so. hi. hi. hi. im normal (the deceiving liar). joyce is what i call charlie kelly, from its always sunny. there has been years an years of fam speculation on her being trans in the fandom though often transmasc (which is perfectly fine hc! just not mine clearly). and in 2018, we got the episode s13e6 the gang solves the bathroom problem. its joking around about cis peoples comfortability with trans people in bathrooms and what counts as a minority vs the majority etc etc. Its a very funny episode and i really enjoyed it, but it felt like parts were a little stilted or cut and it turns out in fact, they were!

in the episode charlie is caught using the womens bathroom, wearing what is basically full drag but she vehemently denies it being crossdressing, saying its normal (its not), or that its just for herself. and basically canonizes that when feeling safe or alone, in a space like the bathroom (or in episode specifically the bathroom) she will dress entirely like a woman and in this space to be herself wants to be seen As a woman. and in canon we get this exchange, which was always interesting to me

to which dennis says, youre a man of course. but it did not, in fact say this in the original cut! in fact,

and upon further inspection not only was this scene cut, but in the original script they she hered charlie for almost the entire episode, not only that. but she had a name. picked for herself, if she was seen by someone else as a woman. a preferred name. if you would even.

so i. yeah! yeah. i call her joyce. because im crazy. and i fully understand why they didn't canonize a trans character in the main cast of a show like sunny. but everyday i mourn the world where we got Her ^

The room lacked natural light. Thick curtains covered the windows and prevented the sun's rays from streaming through the window. With narrowed eyes, you followed the voice with your gaze.

Standing in the doorway of the room, wearing his distinctive socks of different colors, was Spencer.

"you didn't have to come" you said in a whisper, the sheets covering your body.

"i wanted to come" he said.

Curls adorned his face and caressed his cheeks. His hair had grown quite a bit in the last few months. With slow steps, Spencer paced around your room, his eyes on every object that came in his way, examining it for long periods of seconds even when you could barely see anything.

You had no exact reason to be as you were. Lying in bed, with the sheets wrapped around your body and deprived of sunlight, these were simply periods that attacked you for no apparent reason. Waves of sadness and demotivation took over your whole being and you could do nothing to stop it, just wait for it to pass.

That episode was being the longest, you hadn't been to work for days and even though Hotch had given you the week off you felt terrible for missing it. Every day you would wake up thinking about the lives that were lost while you were lying in bed unable to help.

"did you eat something today?" spencer asked, pulling back the curtains and inviting the sun in.

The light stabbed your eyes. Everyone at the BAU knew about these episodes and how they could affect you, but lately Spencer was the one who showed the most concern, visiting you and helping you with the paperwork on your desk, for which you were immensely grateful.

"not yet" you said "but I was going to do it now".

"don't lie" he said, looking at you.

The light softened his features. He was wearing the FBI vest under his jacket, and as bad as you were in the mood you could still see how good it looked on him.

"im not lying" you were "how is everyone?"

"fine" he said, walking around your bed to where there was an empty space. "they miss you"

You smiled at that. You loved your job and you loved the people you work with "i miss them too".

spencer nodded and put his hands in his pockets, silent. From your point of view, you could see perfectly well his attempts to concentrate on anything else.

"can you laid down with me for a few minutes?" you said "it's okay if you don't want to"

Spencer looked surprised at your request. It didn't hurt to point out how little experience he had with women other than in the workplace, and he couldn't help but admit that you had a charm of your own.

From the moment he walked in he tried not to look at the way you were lying in bed. The way the sheets hugged your body and how your loose hair swam across the pillow. There weren't many times he could see you as a normal person, without the formal fbi suits and impeccable hair. Seeing you like this felt intimate.

With timid steps, he approached your bed. Part of the mattress sagged under his weight, but he remained seated.

You laughed lightly "i'm not going to bite you, Spence."

He nodded slightly and dropped gently onto the mattress, his muscles were tense and his body was in front of yours, inches apart.

"thank you agent" you said, and Spencer felt his cheeks redden slightly.

Spencer never felt so unintelligent as he did when he was with you. With others it was very easy to impress and act intellectual, but with you all his barriers came down and he didn't feel so confident anymore. You opened a door of intimacy that he didn't know how to handle.

But he wanted to learn.

"thank you for joining me" you murmured, playing with your fingers and nails and avoiding his gaze "i really appreciate it".

"i know you do" he murmured as low as when children shared secrets with each other.

"i hate feeling like this" he looked at you, your fingers digging into the skin surrounding your nails "i'm useless, and i don't know how to stop it"

"you're not useless"

"i feel like it"

Without thinking twice about what he was doing, Spencer rested his hand on top of yours to stop the way you were hurting your fingers. He had long noticed your tendency to play with your nails and fingers when nervousness came over you.

Spencer's body heat embraced your body and you realized how close you were to each other. His hair was sprawled across the pillow. the disarmed curls, permeating your pillow with their scent. His thumb lightly caressed your hands, in an act that not even Spencer himself was aware he was performing.

When your eyes met his gaze, his pupils were dilated and danced between your lips and eyes slowly.

"um..."

"can you kiss me?" you murmured, in a thread of a voice that only spencer could decipher.

You didn't know if this was all from your imagination or the fever you had suffered the night before, but the next thing you could feel was Spencer's lips against yours. His warmth invaded your lips as his body positioned itself on top of yours, being extremely careful not to squeeze you too tightly.

Your hands hovered over his hand and face, too shy to make contact with him. Spencer's kiss was slow but deep, his hand resting on your jaw, leaving your face at his mercy and driving you as he wished.

Without meaning to, little moans escaped your lips which Spencer smothered with his mouth. Your mind could not comprehend how the Spencer you saw every day at work was the same one who at that moment had total control over your body.

His grip was firm but delicate, his free hand traveled down your abdomen caressing every inch of exposed skin, flesh warm to his touch.

His lips left yours for a few seconds in search of air. Facing each other, the two of you sought to catch your breath, hearts galloping, threatening to burst out of that shell made of ribs. You could still feel his hands creating small circles on your skin.

Spencer kept his eyes closed for a few seconds, where you could observe in detail every inch of his features, how his eyelashes rested on your skin and his lips searched for air.

Watching him was like medicine to the heart.

I’m seeing so much “bearded Aziraphale” this and that but it strikes me as so wrong for his characterization. the only way I will tolerate potential Beardziraphale is in the first few episodes as a depiction of how fundamentally off and uncomfortable Aziraphale feels in Heaven before inevitably defecting and reverting back to his creature comforts.

bonus points if his Heaven outfit is a modern slate-gray three-piece suit with a Heaven’s Dress Tartan patterned tie. extra bonus points if his hair has grown out slightly and been tamped down into a horribly neat combover with one (1) errant curl at his forehead, Clark Kent style. extra extra bonus points if Heaven has issued him a pair of clear plastic framed glasses to replace his beloved Benjamin Franklin spectacles.

oooooh okay so - personally, im of the same opinion re: the beard. i love the aesthetic, the idea, what it would signify, but idk if i'd want it to actually happen? and personally i adore the design and significance of aziraphale's outfit when he discorporated in s1, because look at this!!!

and i would specifically like this in the context that aziraphale actually kinda... flourishes? in being SA - is confident in this role? that he still holds on to some of his style, his design - and therefore a core part of himself, whilst girlbossing it in the corner office in the sky💅 but similarly has assimilated to heaven in a way that isn't... good.

personal theory on how the wttt verse works in terms of states

hi gang

cw: i do mention some policy/politics as a referential thing because this is a satirical series about american politics so these issues appear within the series.

welcome to the table. gotta love it. so

i think states represent

their people

their policy

their environment

(there's more focus on the first two definitely however the last one is also relevant. i also like mentioning this because it allows for good fic content, frankly.)

and then the relevancy of this changes depending on whats going on. when a state reflects one of these very strongly and cannot represent another, then you get manifestations of that. alternatively, enough division within the state and you get things like new jersey (watch his intro episode) and texas (cmon gang we all know im talking about austin). you can also see regional differences if they're stark enough (nocal and socal).

because texas is, within canon, implied to have did and non healthy multiplicity ("i feel like i saw this on Moonknight"), my next point is that depending on how geniunely major a difference is and how poorly one of the things is being represented by the state, the more intrusive whatever is going on becomes. so while most of the gang is generally..... kind of... fine... texas, as a state that is a swing state but still making big discriminatory policy represents the policy well, and the rights and needs of the people less so, meaning that instead of the mostly functional/positive multiplicity seen throughout the series starts becoming less functional altogether.

the government also represents people, policy and a little bit of environment. it/he also represents the system and its needs/wants; such as explicitly benefitting from the industrial military complex over in america, or with the democratic party utilising big issues as part of a campaign (re, overturning roe v wade).

states also probably have some kind of magic to them; they're manifestations who are older than the states as they are part of the US, and we know that loui definitely got something going on there. mother nature tries to get florida and when she misses, both texas and louisiana are soaked from afar, again, representing environment, but also magic is an abstract property which is perfectly realistic in thsi universe. the government does the statehouse; which is a house which externally appears to be normal and holds over 50 rooms and somehow was not destroyed already. this is all to say, the idea of states being able to manifest shit is not beyond canon. go nuts. show nuts, even

kiyotaka tumblr user ramble

was thinkinf about this yesterday and i think ive cracked the idea of taka having tumblr, im an absolute genius and you will hear me out Okay

basically hes like a gimmick tumblr account that got famous for posting specific stuff and being Odd about it

the things he posts are like 5000 word posts just talking about his day in excruciating detail, talking about his studies and whatnot. it feels *weird* reading it bcuz hes describing oddly specific things like what he uses to clean his boots or whatever but its still Somewhat normal-ish.

he gets asks and replies to them with some unrelated tangent, some people ask him if hes autistic and hes like That is a very interesting question, I have actually done research in my spare time, because alot of my acquaintances are on the "Spectrum", and one of them, who thinks hes some 'Overlord of Ice', threw his pet hamsters at me and they scratched me on the face, and I had to go to the nurse in case he did not vaccinate them, I did not want to get rabies potentially, and-

basically letting his thoughts out without needing to sound like hes lecturing someone, he treats his blog like a diary and barely even realizes just how much attention he gets bcuz he logs in to post and then logs out

Occasionally, however, he will post something like "I cannot do this anymore I hate my life" and right after that he will post again "Apologies for the previous post, I was unmedicated, I am okay now. Anyway," and start talking about his studies again or whatever. and the funniest part is that he will not delete any sudden episode posts like that. he knows he can delete posts, but he doesnt think its worth hiding anything, which is why if he makes One grammar mistake in the 4 pages essay long posts, he will just reblog it correcting the ONE error like "*you're. I misspelled, sorry." and you are left to go look for that mistake he made in the first place

he will occasionally turn his posts into vents or nonsensical rambles like "I was reading a book about self-care recently, it was very informing. One of the chapters said 'It's important to have people in your life to support you'. Why does no one love me? Who should I rely on for support? What is wrong with me?" and people will reblog it like OP are you alright you can talk to us:( and he'll be like I'm perfectly okay dont ask me questions please (<-about to have another episode)

this turned out a bit depressive but take it in a funny way okay i just like to think about him alot even though i hate him and want him to die again by My hands

Did I ever mention that this man loves to gamble? Also, you cannot convince me that this man isn't super expressive when he does so. Literally is the anime. Loves how batshit insane it is. Loves getting whiplash from one episode to the next. Wasn't a fan of season two, but adores season one. Bindges, and re-bindges the show at least once a month. Just loves feeling insane when he watches an anime.

Saw Genos and immediately went "I could build that." And doesn't elaborate. He's not gonna lie, he may or may not have tried to follow Saitama's training routine once, but threw up when he got to the running part. Don't get me wrong this man isn't weak or anything but I genuinely don't think anyone on this team can run besides Scout. Loves watching OPM because he loves how unbothered Saitama is and wishes he could be like that, and also wishes he could be as strong.

Loves the mix of a slice of life and melodrama. Doesn't care too much about how slow the show is. Just enjoys watching everything play out and being along for the ride. This man sobbed at the end. Couldn't believe it, well he could but he also couldn't? Even though it breaks him everytime he sees the ending, he still loves rewatching it.

Medic- Japanese Tales of The Macabre/Parasyte

HE. LOVES. JUNJI. ITO. It'd be so wrong not to think so. He has genuinely wondered about the logistics of Layers Of Terror... be afraid of this man if he gets a curious look in his eye over any episode of this anime. He likes the books more but also loves the anime. I added Parasyte too because this man is a sucker for all types of body horror and I think Parasyte should always be mentioned. Just lord help us after this man's mind starts working when watching his favorite body horror animes. You'll here a mix of screams from the poor characters and Yippees! From Medic as he watches the horror.

Scout- Death Note

I think this is everyone's starter anime, but it just happens to also be Scout's favorite. I can't tell if he'd think Light is a genius or insanely stupid. But that's not super important. Loves Ryuk! He'd want a death note just to have Ryuk hanging around the base. This man would be a menace if he had the death note honestly. He'd probably write his name down first just to label it, forgetting he'd die.

Sniper- The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Man has never related to a fictional character so hard until now. Also wishes he could be perfectly average in the public eye and also has inhuman natural talents. It's not even funny how much I can imagine Sniper in this anime. He watched every season and loved them all (likes season one best though) and regularly rewatches the show when things get to stressful around him. It's his comfort show.

(Not that anyone asked but, I fucking love this anime, it's not even funny how much I love this anime I'm going feral.)

Can a fictional character have a kin? Well in my mind yes. Spy kins Sebastian so fucking hard. Picked up the trait of taking his gloves off like that. Definitely share the same annoyances, living with incompetent coworkers, an annoying child, a criminally insane friend or two, you know the normal stuff! Was severely disappointed by season two. Loved everything else though.

I think he likes AOT because of all the Gore, blood, and fighting. I can imagine him kicking his legs and smiling all goofy while watching this. This man bindged the entire show, no doubt. Like the other mercs were genuinely worried about him. He's a mix of devastated and happy that the show hasn't ended permanently.

Pyro- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The insane person loves insane anime, who would have guessed? No, but genuinely, you'd think they'd have a short attention span, wouldn't be able to understand what's going on, and lose interest. Nope! Absolutely love this anime. Has probably rewatched it a million times already. Has made Engie watch this with him and utterly confused the poor Texan. Feverishly waiting for part nine.

like a lot

generally crying is associated with sad things and characters in shows, particularly if they're men, usually only portray crying as sad, but its actually perfectly normal to cry for literally any emotion at all, and its so refreshing to see him tearing up so much that he needs to wipe it away with his hand, but not because something bad happened, because he's so proud of himself and of how far hes come and it just makes him cry, nothing more complicated than that.

you see, im pretty sure my emotions are stored in my eyes, and I think I generally feel overwhelming amounts of emotions more often than the average person, so at least once a day, those emotions come spilling out because there's just too much of it to keep in my eyes at once

im honestly genuinely surprised I still have tears left
